As you walk towards the Groundskeeper's Hut, two piles draw your attention: a big pile of wooden planks and a smaller one of stones. There are also construction tools and gadgets such as nails, hammers and drills. The weather is a bit chilly, but the Sun is shining and it's a good day for a surprise!
Your Professor, having taken a dose of Strength Potion, is waiting for you with a big smile and excitement. The Groundskeeper is nowhere to be seen.

First group (the stone carriers and fire-pit makers)

-Professor suggested that there shouldn't be any roof and railings. The floor should also be wooden.

OOC notes
As I've already said, you need three posts doing building stuff (so drinking and RPing the effects of the potion does not count) for full credit. There is no maximum limit of posting, but there can only be so many stones and planks to be carried, so please keep IC reality in mind with post number too.
You can switch groups, you don't have to stick to just one.
The carriers don't really need my directions, but it'd be nice if the porch builders followed Cosgrach as he has a... radical design in mind.
It'd be helpful for everyone if you titled your post with the group.
You can join in the last day too - basically, anytime that suits you until 3rd of June, 23.59 GMT+1/19.59 EST+1.
The grading will be based on creativity. You are allowed to 'prank' your friends and stuff (*insert cool ideas here*) so that it's not a dull RP. But severe pranks IC will have IC consequences.
I'll update this post with the progress of the groups.
Lastly, I will post again tomorrow around this time. As it'll take me a day to post again, the builders may also begin 'building' as they wish.

Seeing the new notice on his way towards their dungeon after taking his lunch, Ethan went to his dorm in a dash and changed into a more appropriate attire for their Potions Homework. Building stuff did remind him of helping his cousin and uncle build that tree house back in Russia, so doing something similar again with the help of the strength potion was really something special. He didn’t wait for his mates, and went towards the place where Professor Cosgrach asked them to meet up with the help of his skateboard. You know, to wear off the extra excitement that was brewing inside him.
At the end of the path, Ethan stopped and tucked his skateboard under his arm and ran towards the hut. “Hey, professor!” Hey! Hi! Present! The Slytherin gave him a salute and a grin. He then looked at the planks and all the building stuff that was already laid out for them. “This is going to be soooo cool!” Cooler if they used some big rocks and stuff…but then again, safety must come first, no? “Do you have a floor plan for the extension, sir?” he asked as he eyed the materials. “My uncle’s a magical architect. He talks about those stuff a lot.” Nod nod. Ethan placed his skateboard on the ground and did some kickflips in place while waiting for the rest.

Tora arrived at the Groundskeeper's Hut meeting place early. She hadn't expected to be early, she had just been out and about the grounds, reading, when she realized that today was Saturday. The day of the Potions/Surprise Groundskeeper assignment. She had forgotten exactly what time she was supposed to meet there, and came right away just in case she was late. It didn't really matter that she wasn't, here she was, tada!
"Hello Professor," she gave a cheery wave to the potions professor and a nod to the Slytherin she didn't know who was also there early. Once everyone else arrived and got this thing started, it could be really fun! She leaned against the pile of stones, being careful not to knock any off the pile, and listened to the boy talk. Something about a magical architect? That was cool. He must know a bunch about this sort of thing. Maybe Tora could work with him so she could ask tons of questions because she had no idea how to build a patio. Or a firepit.

Bay made his way down out to the groundskeepers hut, this so far was the best homework assignment that anyone could ask for. He got to work with his hands and help build things. Seeing that there weren't to many people here yet he took a look around the things that were on the ground here already ohhh and then he spotted the Professor "Hey Professor" he said with a huge smile… this was totally neat...

Maddie wasn't really IN to building but she s'posed it'd be COOL to be a part of making something from the group up AND she'd be able to put the super strength to use SO she wandered down to the hut, noting the surplus of supplies. How long would it BE before someone hit their thumb with a hammer, HM? Maddie was going to eye who showed up and make her predictions THEN.
"Hey Professor!" Maddie stuck her hand under her chin and wiggled her fingers in greeting. "Hey...skateboarder." That WAS a skateboard, yes? Pretty Mo had mentioned skateboarding to the small brunette and she WAS interested in it so she EYED the older boy thoughtfully for a moment or two before turning her attention back to Culloden.
"The grounskeeper once told us he EATS kids so I'm not so sure he deserves an extension but I'm willing to give it a GO, Sir."
And look, the INTERN BOY from that STORE. Maddie smiiiiiled at him. Yup, we remember you.

This was one homework assignment that AJ was looking forward to. She was very hands on, and didn't mind getting dirty at all. Not even thinking about waiting for her sister, the first year made her way down to the hut. She still needed to pay the groundskeeper a visit because she had lots of questions for him.
As she got closer she realized that she was one of the first one's there. That was a first for her. Not really recognizing anybody there she stood off to the side and waited for familiar faces. Oh, there was the professor. "Hello professor!"
In front of the Groundskeeper's hut, the note said. Its outside. The weather was not really nice lately so the first year decided to use some extra layers and cloak just in case. When she's arrived Professor Culloden was there with a few students. Good so she's not THAT late, wasn't she? "Hello, Professor." Its kinda weird seeing the Potion Master out and about. But its good weird.
The first year noticed a big pile of wooden planks and a smaller one of stones and some construction tools. Building stuffs was not really her things but hey she always loved learn new things. Then Candice heard one of the students. An older Slytherin dude talking about her uncle was a magical architect. This piqued her interest. "Your uncle is a a magical architect? My brother is studying to be one." Granted he's not a Wizarchitect yet. But he will be. Candice was sure of that.
Oh and looked Maddie was here too. "Hey, Maddie." Oh and the whole Groundskeeper ate children thing. Its true. She was there with Maddie when he told them that.

Kick. Flip. Kick. Flip. Ethan continuously did the skateboard trick in place and didn’t notice that there were students arriving until one of them greeted the professor. The Slytherin paused, still standing on his skateboard and gave the Ravenclaw (Tory) a nod in greeting. “Hi!” He’d seen her from their lectures, but never got to know her name. He’ll know in a little while, yeah? This project thing is going to be a group effort, so most likely he will catch her name in a little while.
Oh and heeey. Ethan grinned at the smaller Ravenclaw (Maddie) when she greeted him. Skateboarder. He likes the sound of that. “Oh hey…hi!” He didn’t know her name too, and he had to bite his tongue to stop himself from calling the girl ‘small person’. Seriously, he needs to know their names real soon.
Oh and look another tiny (Candice) first year! “Yup! My uncle Max is a magical architect. He loves to draw and building stuff.” Should he mention that he’s got OCD too? Maybe not. Totally off topic. “Oh that’s nice. Would you know if he’ll work for the ministry after he graduates? My uncle works there now.” Ethan beamed at the little girl and sat on his skateboard.
“Er…yeah. I’m Ethan, by the way guys. Ethan Mordaunt. Third Year Slytherin dude.” He said introducing himself to the small group. “And yep. I’m a skater boy, too.” He added as he gave the little Ravenclaw girl a friendly grin.
Buuut wait. Wait. The groundskeeper eats kids? Wowzers.

Jasmine was pretty excited about the Potions homework assignment. They got to build something and surprise the Groundskeeper with additions to his home. How cool was that? Though she was definitely not an expert in building things, Jasmine did like to work with her hands and create things. She was also good at taking direction so she figured she could do this with proper instruction.
Making her way down to the Groundskeeper's hut, Jasmine saw that quite a few students had already arrived. Seeing Professor Culloden, she walked over to him. "Hello Professor. I realized that I never properly introduced myself. My name is Jasmine Guidry. I transferred to Hogwarts his term. I've enjoyed your classes so far and I'm really excited about this project."
Looking around to see if any of her friends had arrived, Jasmine spotted Bay and walked over to join him. "Hi Bay. How's it going? This should be a really fun project, don't you think?"

Lux was rather excited about this assignment, because instead of having to write she got to work with her hands!
Smile on her face, she waved at Professor Culloden as soon as she saw him. "Hello, Professor!" Another wave and smile was sent to Ethan before she made her way over to join Bay and Jasmine. "Hey, guys! How are you both doing?"

Kudos to whoever had put the notice up about this little event on the noticeboard. Really. Not that Grayson was feeling particularly helpful in any way but he did like Potions sooooo he had decided to make his way down here. Besides, would he have anything to do on a Saturday afternoon besides wandering around and possibly finding more secret spots in the castle and grounds? Sadly, no.
So, having wolfed down his lunch, the fourth year made his way down towards the Groundskeeper's hut. There were a lot of supplies and quite a few people there already. Eager bunch? Maybe. His eyes were on the heavy machinery, especially the drill over there. He was going to USE that before the end of the lesson, otherwise his first name and surname weren't close to two different colours. This was an exciting prospect.
Another exciting prospect? Someone making a right fool of themselves. Bring it.
"Hey Professor! Ready to help." What? He was. Really. Nod. Something inside of him was very much eager to grab that drill over there and lift up some heavy planks of wood. Maybe it was his ego. MAYBE.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Kevin was wondering why was even here in the first place. Doing something nice for someone was not something he normally did and he had to admit he did it more to get house points. And not to mention that the Groundskeeper had thrown a beeshive at him last year! which had been because he had sprayed a solution in his face but whatever
Although it was Sunny now, Kevin had felt the weird blasts of cold air sometimes so he had put on his Gryffindor robe and inside of it was something special. Believe it or not but Kevin Hirase had gotten an exploding potion from the Professor right there and he couldn't WAIT to try it out. His fingers touched the vial but he did nothing though. He was low..but not that low to blow something up that they were going to build. But he wanted to have the potion with him in case he needed it.
And yes, one does need to have an exploding potion now and then, that wasn't weird at all.
When he reached the Groundskeeper's hut , the second year took a look around at the piles of wood and the hammers. So they were really going to build something? He had to admit, it was a fun project. "Yo" he said to the Professor. This time actually acknowledging him instead of sneering or simply ignoring him. "I....got the message during breakfast about.....you know?" this was his way of saying thank you. It was embarrassing enough.

Caleb wasn't exactly sure what all of this helping stuff would entail, but the groundskeeper was cool and so was Culloden, so Caleb found himself down at the groundskeeper's hut, cuddled up in his warm Slytherin cardigan to keep the chill away. It looked like they were going to be BUILDING something, which wasn't exactly Caleb's cup of tea, but whatever.
"Hey Professor!" he said with a smile as he approached.

Hayden was not particularly looking forward to the activity at hand. She did not like working with her hands, or really physical activity of any sort. But this was homework, and it would give her points, so she was willing to give it a try. She made her way out to the grounds in appropriate - and WARM - working clothes. There was already a small group of students gathered around Professor Culloden. She wondered how they were going to keep everything a secret from the groundskeeper.
"Hello Professor," she greeted as she joined the crowd. "Hello everybody." She didn't know the people there, but there was no harm in being friendly. Probably. Hayden stood with the rest and waited for further instructions.

Sure he remembered the mention of a group assignment for potion homework at the end of the lesson. But then Benny had gotten distracted by other classes and nearly forgotten about it until the notice had gone out telling of the final purpose, time and location of the assignment to be done.
So he made his way down to the grounds at the appointed time, his work gloves stuck in his robe pocket to be prepared. There was already a decent size group gathered in place when he arrived, including the professor, Bay, one of the Valentine sisters...and finally Adi who appeared shortly before him it seemed. "Hello Professor," he greeted simply before moving to stand aside to await the action to begin. He wasn't much for socializing at the moment.

Zander walked towards the Groundskeeper's Hut with a smile on his face. Generally speaking, he thought Professor Culloden was an angry man, but this was actually pretty nice of him. Actually, this was really nice of him. AND an easy and somewhat enjoyable way to do their potions homework! He'd have to reconsider his previous judgements about the man. Who knew he was actually civil!?
Anyways, Zander wasn't too sure of how exactly they'd be helping. So instead he just walked up to the man of the hour. "Hi, Professor. How can I help!?" Yes, how?

Homework time! Cassia was excited for this particular homework, because it was both done outside and not alone. She liked that. She appreciated being with others while doing homework and this was an unusual homework so it got extra cool points. The snake dressed comfortably for the occasion and made sure to bring an extra jacket which rested in her bag that was slung over her shoulder.
To the grounds she headed, her hands in her pockets. She noticed the crowd that was gathering near the groundskeeper hut. Good she was on time it appeared. Since she saw nothing new and all. Meant they haven't constructed anything without her. She'd have hated to arrive when everything was done.
But nope, here she was ready and on time.
"Hello, professor," She greeted the professor. "Hi, people!" She was in such a good mood so everyone got Hi-s. Oh, wood and stones, she stepped closer to the piles eyeing them.

Although he was sure Orsino made it sound like he was joking, it was probably true - he... well, he wasn't the brightest man, and those muscles had always seemed a bit suspicious to Cosgrach.

"So, I thought that we can divide into three groups: first one: the stone carriers and fire-pit makers, second one: wooden plank carriers and third one: porch builders." How did that sound? Did anyone else have a better idea? He was all ears.
"I have a plan of how to build it," he went on after a short pause, "and I'll assist you during the process. Those who haven't drank their potions yet - do now. Those that have already done that - pick your group and start building. I think we can build the porch here," he showed the general area at the back of the hut, "and the fire pit here." He showed the area at the right side of the hut. "I think the bags there have all the equipment you might need. If anyone has any questions, I'm here. Let's get this started!"
OOC: As I've already said, you need three posts doing building stuff (so drinking and RPing the effects of the potion does not count) for full credit. There is no maximum limit of posting, but there can only be so many stones and planks to be carried, so please keep IC reality in mind with post number too.
You can switch groups, you don't have to stick to just one.
The carriers don't really need my directions, but it'd be nice if the porch builders followed Cosgrach as he has a... radical design in mind.
It'd be helpful for everyone if you titled your post with the group.
You can join on the last day too - basically, anytime that suits you until 3rd of June, 23.59 GMT+1/19.59 EST+1.
The grading will be based on creativity. You are allowed to 'prank' your friends and stuff (*insert cool ideas here*) so that it's not a dull RP. But severe pranks IC will have IC consequences.
I'll update the first post of this thread with the progress of the groups.
Lastly, I will post again tomorrow around this time. As it'll take me a day to post again, the builders may also begin 'building' as they wish.

The moment Cris had seen the notice on the bulletin board, he had quickly made his way down to the Groundskeeper's hut. He was glad to see that there were other students there and was even more glad to see that the project hadn't started yet.
He quietly walked over to join, Jasmine, Bay and Lux and smiled in greeting before turning to listen to what Professor Culloden had to say. A building project? He quickly downed the Strength potion he had brought along before turning to his friends.
"I think I'm going to go over and help with the porch building. Sound like a very interesting project. Would anyone want to join me?," Cris asked his friends even as he turned to speak with his potion Professor.
"I would like to help with the Porch building. Anyone else?" Cris asked everyone present.

Oh it was BUILDING time.
Freaking YES.
But first, Grayson pulled out his vial of the strength potion and took a mighty gulp of it. He blinked several times and pocketed the empty vial again, trying to listen to the professor and not concentrate on the sensation that was seeping through him. The potion was great but this was just plain weird. If it wasn't for the actual effect of the potion, he didn't think he'd bother. Super strength, Grayson.
Oh jeez. Didn't the professor say something along the lines of group work?! Please don't let some loony be part of his group. Please let it be someone he got along with, too. Which, thinking about it, wasn't really that many people. Shame. Big shame indeed. Building these things would be better with someone he got along with. There would be jokes and laughs and maybe some messing around, too.
As for the groups, he knew exactly where he wanted to go. His first thought had been the porch because of the idea of using the drill buuuuuuuut fire. So, after stretching his arms, Grayson headed over towards the right side of the hut. Did they have to say what they were going to be helping with? Er. "Helping with the fire-pit building." Uh huh. Because FIYAH.

Adi drank up his potion. Was he supposed to sit down like they had done in class? He felt fine though so he didn't worry about it. But he could feel the effects taking shape though. So now, which group should he join? Adi didn't really mind which...hmmm.
That was when he heard that new guy that was in Hufflepuff too saying something about porch building. Well, why not? Adi happily bounded over to the fellow. "Hello, hello,'' he said. "I'll join you.'' It was the first time he was speaking to the guy but Adi totally forgot to introduce himself.
