Tall trees on either sides of the path and grass covering the area,the Pathways is a beautiful place where you can simply relax by sitting in front of a tree or taking a walk on your own or with friends without having to think about school work. Enjoy the fresh air while you can before your next class inside the castle begins.

Happily taking one of the cucumber sandwiches, she thanked her friend before eyeing Bay. "Horses love cucumber sandwiches though." And he was supposed to be a horse...
Really, she just wanted him to eat one.

Louis looked up sharply from his parchment as a gust of wind sent a handful of dead leaves flying in his direction. He had become a little… paranoid. A little too easily startled by the smallest thing. But could you blame him? The term at this new school was just beginning and already he’d—
“Witnessed a tree on a murderous rampage this morning. I’m not sure why it’s not fenced off, but I got my books - and almost my skull - knocked to the ground by one of its angry branches earlier this morning. I also saw a giant tentacle peek from the lake at the back of the school. I swear it was as tall as one of the castle towers! There are also these terrifying moving stairs… it’s amazing how easily the other students get through them, even the younger ones.”
Louis scribbled in his rather sloppy handwriting onto the parchment. His mother, a muggle with a wizard for a father, had sent him a couple letters already, demanding he make his existence known and shared his experiences on his first couple months at Hogwarts. So far everything was pretty pleasant. But they really needed to do something about that tree. Get it some anger management classes, maybe.

Sitting herself on the ground, Lux got into a cross-legged position and started eating her sandwiche as she watched her friends. Of course Bay would never want to eat cucumber sandwiches, but she had been hoping that he would have said yes to her. "You know, horses love cucumber sandwiches, Bay. If you are going to pretend to be one... you should play to the part." Beaming, she held half of her sandwich out to him, trying to be enticing. "It's yummy, and I want my Chocolate Frog."' Hehehe.
Curiously, she waited for Bay to answer Tessa's question because really... she did want to know why he disliked cucumbers.
She was smiling! That was a great sign, yeah? Alec was going to take it as such. He grinned back at her as a way of saying thanks. Because they were going to partner up for this now.
... Wait... he was forgetting something, right? ... Introductions? "I'm Alec, by the way," he said, nodding at her, "And... thanks!" For saying that she would partner up with him, even if she hadn't physically said the words. But the smile... and she had offering. He was taking this as a yes.
Could she go first? "Yeah! Yeah, sure. Ladies first." Gentleman Summers. "Erm... try not to swallow it, yeah? I heard that it's... not a great feeling." You know, in case she didn't know this already. Giving her one more fleeting smile, Alec moved to set his journal and vial down on the base of the nearest tree. Couldn't have that being set to fire, yeah?
Turning around, he looked back at the girl and held out his arms. "Ready when you are."
Introductions! It was always good to know the person that you were breathing fire on. Alec... Nate had talked about this kid. At least it was all good things. Wouldn't it be awkward if this was a kid who always seemed to argue with Nate?
"And I'm Caelen. Thanks for helping me, dude." Was it too early to call this kid dude? She called everyone dude. It annoyed her mother to no end. Which was some of the reason that she continued to do such a thing.
"No, age before beauty, I insist!" She was actually kind of scared to go, and hoping that Alec would listen. She would rather be breathed on then accidently swallow the thing. Salamander's blood. Gross.

I don't like the texture of it… hard around the edges and soft in the middle"..Bay hid his disgust for them by trying to smile.. okay he didn't want to talk about the sandwich anymore…he wanted to have all his focus on this amazing cupcake.
But nope Lux still wanted him to eat one.. "If I take one bite.. my debt with the chocolate frogs is over??" he was hoping she would take the deal for this was one big step for him. "but just one bite" he said again while holding up his hand and raised his index finger to show he meant business that he would only eat one bit.

Caelen. Caeleeeeen. He hoped he was going to pronounce this name properly. It did help that she had just said it. Made it easier for him to remember. "Anytime!" He was almost inclined to call her mate but... did girls like being called that? Who knew.
Alec let out a small bark of laughter. Age before beauty. "Hope you're not calling me old, Caelen," And he grinned, just to show that he was joking. He probably did come across as old to the young girl. Eighteen, you know. And the girl was... younger. Much younger, by the looks of it.
And his girlfriend thought he was handsome.
... But she wanted him to go first, yeah? The boy opened the vial and looked down at it before-- ... Wait. Nate? "Nate Jones? Yeah... yeah, we've shared a dorm for the past... seven years." Seven was right, yeah? "How do you know him?" And while she was answering, he would just take a sip of the potion and let it sit in his mouth. It tasted about the same as it had back in the potions classroom, which made him feel a bit better.
And then... BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Flames. All over the girl. She hadn't expected that, had she?
She wasn’t really paying attention to anyone or anything. The only thing she was paying any attention to was the burning pile of papers in front of her. When she heard the footsteps she froze in place it could very well be a Professor here to tell her to stop setting things on fire.
“Great, just great” she muttered, as she hadn’t been paying attention to the gate. And then the words, her nickname was questioned over to her. She was still facing away from him.
When her heart realized whom it was it immediately wanted her to run over and hug him. To wrap her arms around him – but she couldn’t do that. She didn’t know what he thought of her. For all she knew he could think she was dating him because of his title.
He knew better right? He had to know better…if he didn’t know better then that would have been bad. If he didn’t know better she’d question it. All of it, why he even said he liked her…why they had gotten back together all of it.
“Kaid,” she gulped, “en…hey” she still wasn’t facing him. “Of course you’d be the one to recognize me” she muttered under her breath.
She wasn't turning around. Why wasn't she turning around? She had read it hadn't she? "Amelia?" he asked, nearing her and placing his hand on her back. "Miks?" He wanted to hug her, he wanted to take her to the kitchens where they somehow ended up doing most of their talking. "Hey, you. You... okay?"

She was letting her go first? Well Ana certainly wasn't going to argue with that! Better to get it out of the way and all that. Besides, she was really excited to test her potion. For once, sheer dumb luck she was sure, she'd managed to do every step correctly. Normally she got distracted. But not this time.
Pulling her vial of potion from her bag Ana smiled reassuringly at Bri before unstopping the vial and taking a gulp.
OH GOD AND ALL THE HOLY SAINTS IT BURNED!!!
Ana struggled not to show any pain in front of the younger girl, trying to tell herself that there was no pain to be had. That she'd got worse from violent animals and plants before but SHE HADN'T! It felt like she was on fire from the inside.
Steam was coming out her nostrils and ears and Ana was struggling not to burp, fall over in pain, or expel gas like others had in class and she succeeded. What she couldn't stop were the tears that escaped from her eyes.
But this was homework, she had to do it. She was meant to breathe fire on this little kid and ask her how it felt and she was going to do it. Having made up her mind about it, and thinking it might burn less if she let it out, Ana took a breath in through her nose and got ready.
Straightening up Ana was unable to give Bri any warning and simply started to blow. She put all the force she had in her body into the action and was amazed and delighted when actual flames came out her mouth and blew towards Bri's face. This was amazing. Totally worth all the pain of taking the potion.
When she could blow no more flames Ana took several deep breaths through her mouth before giving the young girl a delighted smile. "So how did it feel?" Ana asked excitedly, grabbing out some parchment and a pen so she could write down Bri's description, still on a slight high from being able to breathe like a DRAGON! She totally had to write to Sasha, Katya, Liza and Vaska about this. They would totally share her excitement!
Bri stood still as Ana poured the potion in to her mouth, and watched as she blew out the flame towards her. Despite being hit by a flame during the class, she was not prepared as it hit her face. The tickling feeling must be more intense hitting bare skin, instead of clothed skin. Bri actually fell down on the ground, laughing. The flame followed her face and it was still hitting her when she was on the ground.
After a little bit the potion ran out and the flame died. It took a couple of second to get her breathe back, but when it did, she felt real warm despite it being a little chilly outside. She stood up, and brush the dirt off her body.
The young brunette grin at Ana before replying "I am not sure, but I think the effect is intensive by bared skin. I also feel real warm now. "
She pulled out her vial and shook it. " My turn!" She said brightly, before uncorking it. She poured in it her mouth.. and tried not to spit it out. It hurt her mouth, a lot more than in the classroom, but she pushed through it.
When she was prepared she blew out towards Ana's stomach, because she wasn't as tall. She was still very amazed by seeing the flame coming out her mouth. She kept on blowing out the flame for a bit before the potion ran out. She wiped her mouth before asking " So how did it feel for you?"

Tessa continued to giggle as Lux teased Bay about the cucumbers. It was funny how such a small thing had turned into something they had used since the term had started. She giggled as Lux talked about horses. "Have you ever tried feeding a horse a cucumber?" she asked, curious.
Suddenly, her hand was cup-cake free. She blinked, confused for a moment, until she realized what had happened. She was glad she had grabbed one before Bay had taken the rest. But, one was all she wanted. "Enjoy," she told him, still laughing. She finished her cupcake and started on the grapes, since no one else seemed to want them. She liked grapes.
She nodded at his explanation, it made sense. "So, are there other things that are similar that you don't like too?" she asked him, curious. She could see that he was getting queasy though, so she didn't press the matter. However, as he seemed to be willing to try to sandwich, her eyebrows rose. Quickly, she set aside one of the cupcakes Bay hadn't eaten. They would probably need it.

Sander smelled food ever since he rounded the corner and had been following his nose ever since. It wasn't like he was going to beg food off the person who had it, but he could still see who was eating just in case it was someone he knew, then in that case, he would beg food off them.
He heard the sound of familiar voices and began to smile. Could it be them who had the food? Sander sped up and grinned widely when he was rewarded for his diligent nose senses. There was food....and there was Tessa. Just the look of her made his heart do its skippity skip routine and his tummy?....well it was confused between being hungry and doing a jig because Tessa was here.
Then he belatedly realized who else was there with her. Lux and Bay. Should he crash on their picnic, or just walk past and look forlornly at them, hoping that they'll catch sight of him and invite him.
Heck! Sander was hungry...and he wanted to be near Tessa. So he did a running slide and slid right up to Tessa, bumping against her shoulder at the same time.

Ohhh ahahahah they wanted to know why he didn't like cucumber sandwiches.. "Errmm.. I don't like the texture of it… hard around the edges and soft in the middle"..Bay hid his disgust for them by trying to smile.. okay he didn't want to talk about the sandwich anymore…he wanted to have all his focus on this amazing cupcake.
But nope Lux still wanted him to eat one.. "If I take one bite.. my debt with the chocolate frogs is over??" he was hoping she would take the deal for this was one big step for him. "but just one bite" he said again while holding up his hand and raised his index finger to show he meant business that he would only eat one bit.

Bay really was being no fun, Lux mused as she took another bite of her sandwich. He was supposed to want to eat cucumber sandwiches like good horses did. "It's off if you can eat a WHOLE one and NOT throw it up." That was the deal they had stated at the start of Term, and she was sticking to it. Especially because she had a feeling that there was no way he would be able to do it.
At Tessa's question, she shook her head. No, she had never given a horse a cucumber before. "I've never even ridden a horse before, but I'm sure that they would love cucumbers." A sudden thought struck her. "There are horses at Hogwarts!" Maybe she would be able to try out with one of them and see how it went? Horses liked carrots and apples, so cucumbers were worth a try!
Spotting Sander as he arrived and gravitated over to Tessa (which was to be expected), Lux waved at him with one hand as she chewed on her sandwich with the other. It was not polite to talk with your mouth full, and she would spare him from seeing what was in her mouth because that would be gross.
Bri stood still as Ana poured the potion in to her mouth, and watched as she blew out the flame towards her. Despite being hit by a flame during the class, she was not prepared as it hit her face. The tickling feeling must be more intense hitting bare skin, instead of clothed skin. Bri actually fell down on the ground, laughing. The flame followed her face and it was still hitting her when she was on the ground.
After a little bit the potion ran out and the flame died. It took a couple of second to get her breathe back, but when it did, she felt real warm despite it being a little chilly outside. She stood up, and brush the dirt off her body.
The young brunette grin at Ana before replying "I am not sure, but I think the effect is intensive by bared skin. I also feel real warm now. "
She pulled out her vial and shook it. " My turn!" She said brightly, before uncorking it. She poured in it her mouth.. and tried not to spit it out. It hurt her mouth, a lot more than in the classroom, but she pushed through it.
When she was prepared she blew out towards Ana's stomach, because she wasn't as tall. She was still very amazed by seeing the flame coming out her mouth. She kept on blowing out the flame for a bit before the potion ran out. She wiped her mouth before asking " So how did it feel for you?"
Ana smiled as she noted the younger girl's reaction, writing a brief note on it as she spoke. It wouldn't do for her not to remember what Bri described feeling since that was the homework too. Putting the parchment away she looked up just in time to see the flames coming towards her stomach.
Ana flinched slightly at the unexpectedness of it, but the feeling itself wasn't unpleasant. She couldn't help the small giggles that escaped her when she felt the flames on her stomach through her robes. It wasn't an area that was extremely ticklish on her though so she didn't break down in laughter like Bri had.
"It felt ticklish, not all that intense though since you hit me through my robes. I feel warmed too," Ana explained as she placed her hand on her stomach, still slightly surprised that the flames didn't burn, even though she knew that they wouldn't.
"Thanks for helping me with potions," Ana added giving the little girl a bright smile. She was really a lifesaver. Especially since Ana herself had requested said assistance in a bit of an odd way.
She wasn't turning around. Why wasn't she turning around? She had read it hadn't she? "Amelia?" he asked, nearing her and placing his hand on her back. "Miks?" He wanted to hug her, he wanted to take her to the kitchens where they somehow ended up doing most of their talking. "Hey, you. You... okay?"

"Oh… erm… " he looked at the grapes in her hand. "Grapes.. they have the same type of texture… and mushrooms…" he knew mushrooms were just plain gross. EWWW, who would eat fungus. Bay made a face.

A whole sandwich… really.. who did Lux think he was? Superman?? but it was a decent deal… one sandwich for the debt to be cleared…. Bay pondered about this for a bit and then said "Okkkayyy…. give me a stinking sandwich…." he put down his last cupcake to save for after this disgusting sandwich, maybe it will help wash it down. Bay held out his hand waiting for it.
Starting to mentally prepare himself he just kept repeating in his head "just think of westerns… horses..cowboys…lasso's" maybe getting his mind of what he was about to do would help..

Kirby did not waste a moment of those 2 Hours Stretching....most of which was really just lifting. He'd show that Lotus just how fast a Giant Mass of Yellow Hulk could run. It was always good to get on the student's good side, make'em look up to you, respect you. Having a Race in a place that isn't the Forbidden Forest seems like an odd way to do that.
He stood on the Path way and continued stretching. Touching his toes, rotating his shoulders back and forth. The whole Stretching Deal. Now he just needed to wait for those two girks to make their appearance.

That girl sure loved those sandwiches. Sander picked up one of the cupcakes and bit into it.
"Mmmm....this is good." Sander turned and complimented Tessa. This girl was definitely one of many talents, Sander was beginning to learn for himself.

"I would ask their caretaker before feeding them, but I don't see why you couldn't try," she said with a shrug. That would be a fun experiment. Although, no matter the result, Tessa was sure Bay wouldn't want to remain a 'horse'. "Let me know how that goes," she said with a grin to the younger girl.

Tessa continued to laugh as Bay dug in to the cupcakes. It had been a good thought by the House elves to stick those in there- they really were miracle workers when it came to food. She glanced down at the grapes she was eating and shot him a sheepish smile. At least she was eating them though- he wouldn't have to worry about them then. She giggled at his face. "There are a lot of people who don't like mushrooms," she told him. "Myself included," she whispered to him with a grin.
She watched Bay's face as he took the sandwich, also noticing that he had set aside a cupcake. Good thinking- she also had a second one. If he hated cucumbers as much as he said, he would need both.

Tessa, seeing that Sander wasn't eating, offered him some of the grapes and one of the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They couldn't have him starving, after all. At sander's question of her cooking them, she shook her head.
"These aren't my cooking, sorry," she said with a sheepish grin. "I just picked these up in the Kitchens- they're of the House Elves' design," she said with a soft laugh. "That's why they taste so good!" She was a decent cook, but she never dedicated a lot of time to it. Her time was more valuable elsewhere- Quidditch mostly. If something was quick and easy to make, that's what she did. However, often enough, she had cooked dinner for her father.

Sander stuffed the remaining cupcake into his mouth before reaching over to take the sandwich that Lux offered him. He turned to look over at Bay questioningly, "Bay, don't tell me you don't like cucumbers?" He couldn't quite believe that anyone could dislike the cool vegetable.
Then he heard Lux mention about going to the stables and visiting the horses. "I've been going down there to take care of them. They are really awesome creatures, especially the Thestrals," he told Lux.
He would have offered to go down to the stables with both Tessa and her, but he knew that sometimes girls needed their own girl time and he didn't want to budge in when he wasn't invited to. So he sat quietly eating his sandwich, occasionally turning his head to look at Tessa. He liked being here with her and her friends.

Tessa shook her head, laughing at the exchange. "This is going to be interesting," she said to no one in particular. Bay was either going to love the sandwich or hate it. And if he hated it... well, that could go a number of ways. Tessa got her wand ready- just in case.
"Sure! I would love to... permission?" she asked, tilting her head to one side again. She sighed when she realized what that probably meant. "Is there another form to sign?" she asked with the slightest of pouts. She knew rules were important but... she still hated them.

Tessa chuckled. "Bay doesn't like cucumbers at all," she told Sander with a grin. "And Lux has been trying from day one to get him to try one," she explained.
"Oh really? How is it? " she asked, looking between him and Lux. She had seen other stables- that had been her one happy place in Beauxbatons- since the Quidditch team had been such a disappointment. She shook her head with a small smile. "Didn't we meet talking about Thestrals?" she asked Sander, thinking back to their first meeting at the carriages. "I can't see them- I'll have to have you sketch them for me at some point," she told the older boy.
