It was getting more crowded now and Ella stopped for a moment to find a better place to stand. One with a good view and where she wouldn't be bumped into. Something told her that if she went over again, she'd have a lot of trouble getting back up.

Feet planted firmly and standing at the back of the room now, the eighteen year old focused her attention upwards again and looked for another target. The yellow balls were really easy to spot so it didn't take long to pick one out. Quaffle-shaped and moving in her direction which was good. She trained her wand on the space a bit in front of it, anticipating the next move it would make.

"Ligatenous!"

...And a miss. SIGH. She wasn't going to give up on this one.

Adi took some time off from his target practice by looking around at the other students as they did their own practice. Everyone seemed to have gotten the hang of the spell and they were working hard to win. Well then, he'd better get back to it if he wanted Hufflepuff to win.

Quickly Adi acquired another target. "Ligatenous!'' Chains from his wand and surrounded the Quaffle sized yellow ball.

Ooooh! Fun game. Delilah was so up for this. She just had to make sure that she got her aim right.

She looked around for a bit before pointing her wand at one particular yellow ball.. that suddenly whizzed past her. NOPE. Another one. She transfered her gaze to another one, taking her deep breath. Yeah, okay. "Ligatenous." The girl watched as chains flew out and wrapped around it!

SCORE. Next one, please.

Time to try another one? AWESOME idea.

This time... he was going to aim for that yellow Quaffle-like ball up there. It was bigger than the bludger one so maybe, just maybe, it would be a bit easier to capture. A bit. He was really counting on this.

Alec squinted a little at the ball and watched it move around for a bit. Concentration was key, he knew that. If he got distracted by the other chains and Quidditch-like balls flying around, he could end up missing the yellow ball he was trying to aim for. It was still... hard to concentrate what with the number of chains that were flying out everywhere.

Pointing his wand up in the air, he followed the movement of the quaffle-like ball around before saying, "Ligatenous!" A chain flew out and... and...

SUCCESS.

See? Quaffles were much better. Better than Bludgers. Nodnod.

"Nice Bay!" she called, glancing out of the corner of her eye to see the ball that Bay had captured. She grinned and cast at another ball she had seen out of the corner of her eye. Unfortunately, her spell wasn't quick enough, and it just missed the ball, sailing through the barrier above.

"Shoot," she muttered to herself, her eyes roaming the area above them for her next target. "Keep a sharp eye Bay, we're going to win this thing," she said, grinning. Seeing another ball headed their way, she quickly cast "Ligatenous!" Another ball down!

"Thanks Tessa" he said while moving around with her, making sure her back stayed to his. "oooo you almost got that one" Bay spotted another one but it was yellow…. "Ligatenous" he said while the chains flew past it.. "gahhh this is so hard" he said. spotting a blue one Bay moved quickly and said "Ligatenous" and he caught a blue one… "yeah, I got a blue one… thats good too right?" he said being unsure.

Delilah was seriously starting to worry that someone was going to wrap HER in a chain. Gosh, they were flying everywhere! She moved a little away from the crowd and looked around for a yellow ball.. Oh, there it was!

She eyed it for a moment before lifting her hand and pointing her wand. Okay. Let's do this.. "Ligatenous." Did it----

Nope. It missed. Fabulous. Let's try again, shall we?

Lux saw that Tessa and Bay were going to cast back to back, andknew that they were going to be getting points in. Well, she did not want to give them an edge over Hufflepuff. Spotting another yellow ball, Lux pointed her wand at it and said, "Ligatenous." Chains came out and wrapped around the ball. Haha, take that!

She was still following the quaffle-sized ball with her eyes as she shuffled backwards, wand aimed at the yellow center. She was determined to get this one. Mhm.

"Ligatenous!"

She was still moving backwards slowly as the chains burst forth from the tip of her wand and wrapped themselves around the ball, causing the Head Girl to grin and forget about anything else. That's about the point when she walked right into someone. Or backed into, rather. Whoops.

"Sorry!"

Okay. Delilah just HAD to get this one, okay? For her house, yes. The girl moved a little further away from the group because she was kind of starting to panic a little. All the chains.. yeah. Better to be careful than sorry, yeah?

Ooooh! A yellow one. Smiling to herself, she pointed her wand in the air and muttered the spell for the millionth time today. "Ligatenous!" She watched with a satisfied grin as the chains flew out again and wrapped around the ball neatly.

YAY. She liked this class.

Lux giggled to herself as Bay gave Ravenclaw a point. She bet they would be happy about the assistance. Turning back to the task at hand, she looked around until she spotted a yellow ball and cast the Ligatenous spell at it, watching the chains shoot out. Drats, missed again by a hair.

At least she had caught three so far.

Okay so he wasn't gonna give up. Nooooooo. That red ball was just asking to be gotten. Any ball in the bounce as they reacted to his faulty chains for that matter but he would very much prefer the red one. The one that would help his house move towards whatever the outcome of this little inter-house competition might garner for the winning house. He just had to try a bit better to focus his aim more. Then he might just have a greater chance of getting what he wanted.

"Ligatenous!" he cast again, hoping against hope it would work. The chains came from his wand and shot towards the red ball and Ben nearly held his breath as he saw it come upon the various balls. It wasn't until the red one he had been aiming for came back towards him did he realize he was actually successful. "YES!"

Score one for the Lions!

Ok, now THIS was a class activity Caleb could get behind. Competitions! YES! He loved competing!

He waited until the professor told them to go and explained the rules, and then it was on. Slytherin HAD to win, Caleb wouldn't accept anything else!

He waited until the rush of people cleared out, and then he hurried over to a green Slytherin ball. He pointed his wand at it and shouted "Ligatenous!"

He watched as the chains come from his wand and wrapped themselves around his target. BAM!

The balls here were sorta like the Quidditch ones, minus the snitch....it was like they were mocking her. But this was probably the closest she was gonna be able to get to Quidditch this term so maybe she should try to enjoy it instead of being bitter or whatever. Meh. Okay.

This shouldn't be too hard spotting a red ball and keep her eye on its movements - wasn't all that different from playing Seeker, since the snitch could move on its own in any random direction. The only possible difficulty about this was making sure the spell worked properly, but hopefully that wouldn't be too bad either since she was getting better with it.

So yeah, Penelope let her eyes scan the room for a few moments before she settled on one of the red balls. She watched its movements carefully, studying which directions it tended to take...then directed her wand. "Ligatenous." The chains shot out of her wand but missed the ball at the last second.

But that wasn't stopping her. "Ligatenous!" she said again quickly, adjusting her aim a bit and - yes! Red ball was grabbed.

Sander looked as chains went flying all above him. Between the balls and the chains flying around above him, it looked like it was getting crowded up there. Trying to snag a ball now was going to be difficult but he was determined to try.

He looked around to search for a yellow ball when he found one he raised his wand as he followed the ball's movements. Ready....ready.....now!! He pointed his wand at the spot he guessed the ball would move next and said,"Ligetanous"....and his chains flew up...up...up and wrapped itself around the yellow ball.

Bay saw Lux giggling at him… was it at him.. she was looking his way… hmmm can't be distracted..

He spotted another red ball… he needed to get that one.. "Ligatenous" he said while making sure his back was still to Tessa's… he saw the chain wrap around the red ball.. "yes another red one" he smiled over towards Lux's direction…

he just loved competing with her.

The best way of doing this, Toby realised, was to get a ball that was headed in his general direction. It was a lot easier, that way, because he didn't have to start judging where the ball was going to be. Sure, it was a cop-out, but Toby was still focusing on getting the spell completely right.

So he just leaned there, waiting, eyes up.

It took a while, and a couple of times one that was doing the right kind of flying ended up captured by another Hufflepuff (or a miss-hit from someone in another house), but eventually Tobias found his target.

"Ligatenous!" he cast, bringing his wand up and pointin it at the yellow ball, envisioning it captured by chains.

And that was exactly what happened. Tobias grinned as the ball was pulled off course by the force of the chains, probably outside the force-field thing that Romanos had magicked up.

Okay, now it was time to try for a less easy captu- oH.

Tobias blinked as he realised he was being bumped into by the Head Girl. He'd been so focused on what was up above that he hadn't been paying much attention to what was in front of him. He was still leaning against the desks though, so he didn't fall or anything, but he did teeter slightly off balance before righting himself again.

"No worries," he smiled at the older girl. "I'll live." ............ "Just about."

The competition was still going strong, so Sophie got right back into the thick of things. She moved around a bit looking up at the balls. There were way too many green ones still hovering about. She'd hoped they would win this thing, but...there were just so many green balls left. Maybe she was focusing too hard on the green ones, though. Maybe there weren't as many left as she thought.

She zoned in on one and aimed her wand toward it. She focused on what she wanted to do and put all her intent on her spell hitting that ball. "Ligatenous!" she said. The chains shot from her wand and surrounded the ball.

When Bay looked over in her direction, she smiled and waved at him. She knew that he had heard her giggling at his giving Ravenclaw a point. Well, she could not help that it had amused her!

Oh boo, he had caught another one.

Not wanting to be shown up by him, she looked for another yellow ball and as soon as she found it, she pointed her wand in its direction and said, "Ligatenous." The chains shot out and wrapped around it.

"Take that," she said to him, before sticking her tongue out and laughing. This was so much fun.

Oh gosh, it was just like Ella to bump into someone and now she was going to have to mutter endless apologies because she couldn't be known as the mean Head Girl who charged people because she was so competitive at House competitions and so she turned around to face the person she'd h-

"Toby!"

Relieved, she was. The blonde smiled sheepishly and gave him a once over, making sure he really was okay and wasn't just saying so to make her feel better. "Good because I want to keep you around, okay?" Hair ruffles for you, Tobias. "I really am sorry. I need to watch where I'm going."

Maybe she'd just position herself against the desks like he had? That way she couldn't take anyone else out. Seemed like a legit plan to her.

"Mind if I join you?"

And look, a yellow bludger-sized ball was swerving back and forth just above there heads. The blonde narrowed in on it and pointed her wand and said, "Ligatenous!"

GRIN!

"Badger boom?"

Bay heard a "take that" coming from Lux…. pffftttt…. competition time kicked into high gear…

"Ligatenous" he should as he spotted a red ball, but the chains wrapped around a green on…. ohhh nooo.. he looked away from Lux and instantly looked around for another red one.. seeing one in the corner he said "Ligatenous" again and he caught it.

Smiled he shouted over to Lux "Got another one" he gave her a grin.

Lux laughed again as she saw Bay cast the spell over a green ball, giving a point to Slytherin. But then he had managed to get a red one, so he had still gotten one on her.

Spotting a red ball near a blue one, she called out, "Ligatenous!" and watched as the chains shot out... around the blue one. "Aaah, man!" She had messed up too. Not letting herself be brought down by it, she quickly shot out the Ligatenous spell again, managing to chain the yellow one this time. "Looks like you haven't won yet!" she told him.

She still wore a tiny grin on her face as Train Boy tugged her toward the activity. What? She was proud of herself for accomplishing the spell. She wouldn't go as far as awesome. It'd taken her three tries to get it, but she was close to it. Heh.

The activity seemed easy enough. Shoot at green balls and chain them up. Though, she couldn't help feel a tiny bit disappointed. She'd imagined running after and catching dummies disguised as demons. Too far-fetched of an idea, but it would have been fun.

Turning to Train Boy, she nodded. "Good luck."

Well...here goes. Remembering she had cast Finite on her shoes, she pointed at them, making a sideways candy cane motion with her wand. "Henshu," she said. Her feet weren't stuck to the ground as they've been before. It was more of a secure stickiness.

She was set. Spotting a green ball Beverly pointed her wand at it, focusing on only it. "Ligatenous!" A spiral of chains shot out of her wand. They'd either wrap around it or knock it out of the field. Fortunately the former happened as the chains wrapped around the green ball.

YESSSS!

Grey-blue eyes were back on the yellow bludger. The one he had missed. He was coming back for that one.

The eyes stayed on the bludger-like ball and followed its movements around carefully. It was a little further away for the time being which meant... that he needed to tilt his head to the left... and then to the right, just to keep it in view. But... no matter what happened, it was still... far away.

"Come on... come on..." There was no way he could catch it if it decided to hide behind some different coloured quidditch-like balls. What had Romanos said about catching those? It wasn't allowed? Or the points would be given to the other house? Whatever it was, it probably wasn't a great thing if he somehow ended up catching a quidditch-like ball that belonged to a diff--

"Ligatenous!"

Once again, a chain flew out of his wand and over towards the yellow bludger-like ball. He watched as it flew... and wrapped itself around...

...

A Ravenclaw one. Uh-oh. That wasn't meant to happen.

Alright, that was one down, time to get another one.

Penelope scanned the room again, looking for one that would hopefully be easier to catch than the other one had been. Hmm...there was one over there that was mainly just zooming to the right and then the left and back and forth. That one ought to be pretty simple. It was a little far away though, particularly when it flew to the left, but she was willing to try it.

"Ligatenous!" she quickly cast as it headed for the right. But instead of catching the red one, a blue ball zoomed in front of the chains at the last second, making her catch that one instead.

...Lame.
