The Black Lake lies behind the castle and though it may seem like the water is calm on the surface, you will learn that that is not the case underwater. Creatures have made it their home from Merpeople to Grindylows. The most notable is Bartholomew Henry, the Giant Squid. The lake is a beautiful place for you to hang out and….take a boat trip? A dock has been made by Mr.Cantwell and tied to it are 15 pedalo boats in the colors of the houses.
The pedalo boat is a pedal-driven paddle boat with a stirring wheel in the middle.The driver rotates a pair of pedals with their feet like bicycle pedals and it glides over the water. You can change course with the use of the wheel. An invisible barrier has been casted somewhere on the Lake, preventing the students from going too far. No worries though, once your boat hits the barrier it will simple turn around slowly.
Lifejackets are a MUST. Anyone getting caught without a lifejacket on, no matter how much of an excellent swimmer you are, WILL get brought back immediately by the Groundskeeper once he sees it. The lifejackets are a magical fit so no complaining that yours is too big or too small.
Bronislava nodded her understanding to her Headmaster. She could speak more freely about her concerns and clarify anything that needed to be addressed during a private meeting. That was fine with her. Tilting her head slightly, she watched as he pulled out the letter she had sent, then allowed a faint smile to appear as he addressed her again. "Yes, Headmaster," she began, "I felt it was best you knew vhat vas happening." In all honesty, she wished he had stayed with them but she understood that he had his own school to run and trusted a select few to complete their tasks.
She opened her mouth to speak again, then turned at the sound of voices. Oh, Karina and Mischa had arrived. She gave them an acknowledging nod with a small smile for Karina. A smile which faded as she heard Zitnik's harsh tone and she lowered her eyes respectfully. She felt a twinge of sympathy for her friend to be reprimanded yet she knew she did speak out of turn. And as for Mischa, she knew he'd be getting his soon enough. The 18 year old waited for her classmates to shut the door before she lifted her eyes to Zitnik again.
She waited for him to finish then she donned a concerned frown. "Vell, to begin, zhere have been classroom pranks. Many of zhem. Ones zhat I vould not call purposeful." She eyed Zitnik carefully, sure he would know what she meant. "I do not know who has been causing all of zhem, exactly. But I do know zhat Mischa vas accused by one of zhe prefects who saw him vith his vand out." Though if she was being fair, that particular spell he had been accused of casting might have been useful, had the pranks been fewer and the targets more specific. And had the boy not gotten caught. But as it stood.. "Now zhe Hogvartians are suspicious vhich makes our plans more difficult." Though she was working on her own, hopefully that would make up for things.
Zitnik listened carefully to what Bronislava was telling him. "Just exactly what kind of pranks are we talking here?" If they were not 'purposeful' to their cause then why were his students getting caught doing them? In fact why were they doing them at all? If anything was going to work at all, they needed to keep the suspicion away from them, not draw it to them.
Zitnik looked back down at the letter on the table then back up at Broni. "Tell me, how is this friendship going with you and this prefect, Minerva?" He was hopeful that Bronislava would be able to change the way the prefect thinks about his students.
He knew he was running late, but every since Mischa had been caught by that annoying prefect, she'd been keeping an extra close eye on him as well. In fact, he'd had to pretend to be going to the potions lab in order to get her off his trail. Since it wouldn't be good if she tried to follow him to the boat.
Anyway, he was here now. "Stupid Hufflepuff prefect," he said by way of explaination.

"Okay, good." Dylan said, relief sweeping over him at this. Of course, he still couldn't help but feel a bit bad. But that feeling would pass eventually of course, as they grew closer. If they even did, that is. Funny, Dylan had never expected this to happen with them. He expected them to remain enemies for the rest of their years at Hogwarts, or just not friends. But he was thankful this happened. This was much better. The first year smiled brightly at Adi at what he said.
Looks like Dylan was going to teach him right now then! Which wasn't a problem. "I've never taught someone before so bear with me," he told told Adi with a chuckle. "But anyway," he went on, racking his brain for what to teach the fellow Puffer first. "Let's start by having me show you the main parts on the guitar. Right here," he ran his hand along the neck of the guitar. "is the neck. As you can see, there are little lines here along the neck. Those are the frets. And obviously, on the neck, are the strings which you're probably aware of." he said laughing. Okay. Moving on. He gave a point of his index finger towards the headstock. "This is the headstock, or the peghead. Whichever you wanna call it. These little things on it are the tuners." he gestured to each part as he said them. Now to move to the bottom part of the guitar - the main part.
"Now, here we have the body." he gestured to the whole part of the guitar under the neck. "This hole here," he gave another point, "is the sound hole, where the sound comes out of." he felt as if his descriptions were becoming a bit too obvious but ah, who cared. He'd never taught someone before, mind you. He then pointed to the bridge under the sound hole. "And that is the bridge." he finished with a firm nod. "So, any questions on any of that? Or shall we move on?"

"Vell," she began, "I have observed much chaos in zhe classrooms and zhe reaction from students vould suggest zhat zhis is not a common occurrence at Hogvarts." She paused, mentally listing all the spells she had observed. "Students have been hexed in nearly every class I have attended, just a handful of students in each, but mainly nuisances like toenail growing hex, langlock, being silenced, supplies in class sabotaged so zhat practicals cannot be completed. Zhe one Mischa has been accused of vas Muffliato." Leaning a bit closer, even though she knew no one else was in the room to hear, she added, "Zhe students seem to be randomly targeted." She knew he would know what she meant, there were specifics not being followed. "It is just happening too much and only since we have arrived, I hear zhe talk in zhe corridors. I do not know if it is from our team, but fingers are pointing to us, especially now vith Mischa being accused." It only took that and now everything was being blamed on them whether or not it was.
Bronislava leaned back slightly and folded her hands in her lap, allowing a faint smile. "Minerva has been most accommodating. Ve have engaged in several friendly conversations and I believe I am beginning to earn her trust." See, that seemed to be the problem of many of her teammates. Not willing to even appear to be friendly and therefore could not get close to the competition or find out pertinent information. "I only hope I can begin to smooth zhings over some." Possibly, but she was concerned that the damage had already been done.

Ughhhhhh, air. He needed air. Though the moment he got outside, he wanted to go back in again. Theodore kicked the same stone the whole way to the lake, because for some reason this was where he wanted to be. Did he want plenty of social interactions? No. Was this a perfect place for homework? No.
No.
No.
Never.
Theodore just wanted to sit.
Actually, he wanted to lie down. So that is exactly what he did.

Christmas wandered down to the lake it was strange that she was back at school despite the fact that she had missed most of the school year cause she had taken ill and she was upset about it and saw a younger boy lying on the ground and said "Hey you okay down there" Christmas fixed her shawl she had round her robes she was still not well and she had to keep well wrapped up

What else could he have expected at a high profile place like the lake? Interruptions. Theodore opened his eyes, because he WAS trying to get a bit of shut-eye next to the pretty lake and stuff. He saw a somewhat familiar face staring down at him. So he stared right back at her for a moment. "Yes." Paaaaaause. "I'm fine, just... tired." He sighed a little just because ugh, human interaction.
"It's not that cold, you know." Theodore commented, noticing that she was rather bundled up. He sat up lazily and looked over at the lake.

Theodore pressed his eyebrows together, and managed to tear his eyes away from the lake and to the girl speaking. He blinked as he processed what she said and oh, oh, oh, OH.
She was SICK.
He hopped up and away from her, putting at least 3 meters between them. "Why are you outside spreading disease, then!?" Theodore was genuinely outraged by this sort of stuff. If you're sick, stay in bed. That's what he did. Always.

Christmas blinked and said "Well i only came outside to get some fresh air cause i have been inside a lot and i am better than i was a few months ago" Christmas couldnt believe that this boy was being rude

A perfectly plausible reason for being outside. But Theodore was having none of it. He dramatically covered his face and frowned at the girl, "What's wrong with you?" As in, what was medically wrong with her and stuff. Was it a common cold, or the plague? Needed the deets. Why did she have to bother HIM with her infected self?

Theodore removed the hand that was covering his mouth and folded his arms across his chest. There was a bit of an attitude in that movement, but he was slowly starting to get over it.

"No problem,'' Adi told the other boy. "I'll probably be a bad student so in the end you'll have to bear with me.'' But he had never been a bad student. Buuuut since this was an instrument, who knows? Maybe he'd be a bad student this time around. This was way different from academics, anyway.

Adi was feeling quite pleased with himself. So far so good! Only problem was that he might forget the names of some parts of the guitar. Ah well. He'd ask Dylan about it later if he did.
He stared at the other boy. Oh, gosh! Was he gonna play the thing already? Nervously but also excited at the same time, Adi took the guitar. He had watched carefully as Dylan had showed him where to place his fingers. Would he remember it all? Let's see!

Elodie's face twisted as her friend spoke about notes, and she just nodded along, intentionally taking none of it in. She had no clue what her friend was going on about, but she was good at the nodding thing. A pro, even. Her face probably gave it away that she was as confused as a...really confused thing. "Uh huh." She threw that in, because verbal confirmation was good. Pro at that too.
Keeping tabs though? Els grinned. "Got her on tabs." Maybe not, because Elodie was a busy girl and had to keep up her appearances. To her boyfriend, anyway. And best friend. Her C's were really the only people who saw her socially. Ever. Too busy for anyone else. Whoops. Sorry.
"Rooney has this dog... Elphie. He takes her everywhere. Just talk to him about space or the dog and you'll be well away. Brinlee likes horses." And they were both pretty cuddly with new people, which always worked in favour. Els didn't mind telling Choo this stuff, given she'd be spending her summer with them anyway. "You are? I'mglad." Because it was important, for sure.
Ramble.
Charlie was rambling wasn't she. She grinned sheepishly, and apologetically at Elodie, eyeing the confusion on her face. "Well, if you need help, or want to moan, come find me." She was a good shoulder, even if it looked bony and uncomfortable most of the time. Metaphorically speaking, it did a good job for stressed and upset people.
Especially stressed and upset best friends.
Giggles happened at the thought of Els tracking Olly's every movement. She couldn't imagine the other girls reaction to such a thing, and even though she didn't really know her, she knew her well enough to know that she wouldn't take kindly to being... well, practically stalked by her room mate.
"Okay. Space... Elphie.... Horses. I got it." And she could talk about the dog, because gushing over how cute it probably was would work, right? It sounded about right to Charlie, anyway, even if she was really a cat person. But that was whatever. "I am. Are you looking forward to summer?" Because special plans were happening, right?

Adi seemed really eager to learn and get these things right. Dylan liked that, he had a good feeling he would be easy to teach. Which he was immensely thankful for, of course. "Put your fingers here," Dylan told him while pointing to where Adi needed to place his fingers. "Now give me a strum." he added with a nod, waiting to hear Adi play it.

From the Duck Pond to the Lake, it almost seemed like the fourth year was just wondering around now and quite aimlessly at that...which was exactly what she was doing. Until she could locate everything she would be walking around like she didn't have a particular purpose in the world.
"Did I ever tell you I met the Giant Squid?" Lex asked, getting a glimpse of the water, glistening in the moonlight. It wasn't something she remembered shari--OH WAIT! Yup, this was a repeated story. Now that she brought it up, she could distinctly remember jumping all over her bed, squealing about how she'd met him and all that jazz--and at the hands of Mr. Firth too! He was the last person she'd ever expected to do her a favour yet there he did, right before...you know.
The excitement wasn't all that there anymore. He didn't have to die...half die....not live like normal people. No, she had a feeling that if things were different he could still be here deducting points from her.
Kinda bittersweet, no?
Alexa spotted Felix looking up and did the same. This time, there was no clear cut, connect the dots thing going on. Time for the telescope she'd given an extra shine before walking down here tonight. Lex moved it across the sky until it landed on a particular star, well not a star at all actually. Mercury, right?
She did a quick sweep of the sky just to be sure. Yup, there be the planet.

Caleb had to keep reminding himself that Venus was a PLANET and not a constellation. It was hard to keep track of them all, since they were all named after myths and legends and gods and whatnot. But no, Venus was a planet. A planet that in size and shape was almost like Earth, actually. That helped him remember it a bit better.
He'd done research into WHEN he exactly needed to be out here to look at Venus, so here he was, staring at the sky looking for the little orb thing. Finally, after a bit of searching, he found the planet in the sky. It definitely didn't look like a star, so he knew right away when he found it. YES! Another planet DOWNNNN! He made a quick note on his parchment and then tucked it away along with his telescope before heading back into the castle.

Searching... searching... Alec was searching...
... And he was back here again!
The boy tore his eyes away from the sky to look around at the surrounding area. The Lake. Awesome. It was better than the Forest, at least, which made the boy a little happy. He was kind of saddened at the fact that he hadn't been here with the girlfriend yet. It would have been nice, yeah? And she might have liked that. Maybe.
His eyes lingered on the padelo boats and... he paused. Should he? Last time he had been here and tried to stargaze on one of the padelo boats, he had almost fallen over! Maybe he wasn't good at multitasking. Or he had momentarily forgotten about the boat and leant too much over to one side to try and find the celestial body. Both sounded... legit, yeah.
Finally deciding against the padelo boats, Alec pulled up on a patch of grass and took out his telescope from his bag. What was he looking for? He... had no idea. Anything, actually. Maybe a planet this time since, recently, he had been finding quite a lot of constellations. Or maybe even a star...? He silently hoped it was a pla--
... HEY! There was something... the Hufflepuff adjusted his telescope and gazed at one spot in the sky in particular before a grin spread across his face. Venus! Hey there!

Caleb was back at the lake. Wasn't he JUST here? Whatever. It was a good planet finding place, and since he needed to find Mercury - yup, good place to find planets!
Taking his telescope, he sat in the same area he'd been in when he found Venus, hoping he'd be lucky and able to spot Mercury too. After a bit of searching, he found it! The tiny little planet - almost as tiny as Pluto - and it was very cool looking. Hard to think that it was so HOT there, being close to the sun and everything. He made a note on his star chart, then headed out. Only a few more to go and his project would be DONE!
