Students, staff, alumni, and curious bypassers....all are welcome to join in the fun and have a seat here in the spacious grandstand. You can see all three contest arenas from here: Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and even Hogwarts. Never mind that all are tiny and far away and the contestants look like shrimps! They're doing great!
You're more than welcome to clap, cheer, hold up signs, and do the wave, but don't be surprised if the contestants can't see or hear you. They are FOCUSED. And they're also enclosed in their own little areas, but it's the thought that counts!
....baha. Aspen looked away, way too pleased with herself for getting under his skin by laughing at him. Baha. Joao was her favorite and with her left hand - always left - she took his hand and held it.
She couldn't commit to it being safe. Not at Hogwarts. Not when she watched Dementors attack him last year. No use in "hoping" for it to be safe either. Hence Aspen's continuous attention towards baby brother.
Confident and liked to show it. Yeah... Aspen glanced at Joao. Yeah. That was definitely West. Maybe Joao understood him more than he knew? She just eyed for him a second, then looked away.
"Yeah. That Gryffindor is over there," Aspen tilted her head. "Want to go sit with her?" And Aspen grinned here, though it was sort of grin that came after a promise of trouble. "Haven't seen Derry yet though."
Silent, huh? João didn't mind. It just meant 'focused' and 'worried for West' Aspen. He also didn't mind holding hands with her, but he had never perfected warming charms either. He wondered whether he should tell her. Would she laugh again? It was tricky. He decided to keep his manly honour and do his best at not shivering.
He turned his head to where Aspen showed and studied the girl for a while, missing Aspen's grin. He hated controlling her though, and she knew it as well. Surely, surely she would behave? For the sake of West, at least? He didn't want to see that grin. So he shrugged as a response to the question, and hid his disappointment in 'never seen Derry'.
"Do you want to talk to her?" He noticed how she addressed her as 'That Gryffindor', but didn't say anything. What could he say? It was HER business, after all.
"No." No Aspen Odessa did not want to talk to Alice. As if she COULD read Joao's thought, Aspen admitted, "I won't behave if we talk, sit, and/or associate with her." Pause. "It might distract West." And THAT was really the deciding factor. Not that Aspen was worried about "behaving" -- just West's concentration.
Aspen was getting cold, so Joao must have been an ice cube by now. She was going to wait for him to start shivering before she offered a warming charm though. Teehee.

No. Alright. It was better for João anyway, especially if she had 'not very nice' plans for her. He had learnt to keep his sighs and soothing words to himself, so it was his turn to be silent and just stare into what he believed was Hogwarts area. He almost said West would learn it years later from this distance, but didn't.
Pretending to enjoy watching the arena while actually trying not to shiver. Worst part? His hand was out there, holding hers. But if he drew it, she would laugh at him, so... if she loved her like she claimed to do, she would take pity on him and act.
Seeing some people she didn't know as she walked, Minerva felt the need to greet them of course. Straightening her badge a bit she gave them each a nice smile, ( Fedir Shevchenko, Headmistress Enzo, Headmaster Zitnik, Dietrich König ) "Hello and welcome. I hope you have found everything alright." She wanted to make sure they were all greeted well. It was her job to show leadership and lead by example in manners as well, right? Well whatever she would have said hello no matter what anyway. "Good Luck to both your schools and I hope everyone has fun." She gave them one last smile and started walking again.
Oh, look, a person. Dietrich stopped his jelly slug throwing to shoot her a pleased smile. "Thank you, child!" He was confused about the "hope you have found everything alright" part though. Was he supposed to be looking for something? Besides people to throw things at?

She looked around to spot the culpable, and her eyes fell on the old man at first, but she discarded him immediately. Obviously, she didn't expect him to eat jelly slugs, let alone throw it to unsuspecting students. Her eyes roamed around, but she couldn't really see anyone else. She shrugged, smiled again and threw it to her mouth. She usually didn't eat sweets, so she enjoyed this one even more.

AHEM. Cue best innocent-face. Dietrich grinned at the woman and gave her a wiggly-finger-wave before holding up a jelly slug. Did SHE want one? Maybe she was just jealous. Plausible.

She adjusted the cuff of her sleeve and leaned in toward Botros, whom she was sitting near. "How do you think we're doing?" she asked her husband's former colleague in a whisper. "It looks as though we're winning..."
It also looked like those Frenchies were sweating right through their stiff little uniforms. Aww. How excellent.

Watching the other schools' champions with a scrutinizing gaze, Alice took mental notes all the while. Boring. Boring. Funny accents. Boring. The Beauxbatons Headmistress wore WAY too much eyeshadow, and the rest were still boring. She turned to view the audience instead, beginning to add the newcomers to that list of hers. Dylan. ... Aspen Odessa?
And a boy whose hand she had claimed. That was the Brazilian boy toy she'd heard about, then? João. Alice saw him studying her and turned in her seat to stare back, examining his face and trying to tell what he was thinking. He was big. Tall, too. But West was taller.
The sixth year held his gaze until he turned back to his girlfriend, then looked away for the time being. There wasn't anything the older Odessa would do to her while her brother was in the arena, correct? So she was safe for now. Hopefully. Safe-ish.

Now she spotted the person she was hoping to see. Moving down the stands she waved at everyone else, (Kace, Forrest, Bee, Kat, Flamsteed, Botros, pretty much everyone she passed as she walked) and stopping to say "Hello, excited for the events today?" along her way. As she continued to walk she noticed Lafay and tried to not make eye contact but she didn't want to seem rude either. Heart racing seeing her she gave a small nod and kept moving. Once she got to a certain person in a blue scarf she plopped down next to him putting him in a hug. "Hey handsome" She was so excited Ethan was able to come and watch the first round with her. It was so great. Turning she smiled at Claudette, "Hey stranger, you do know just because you are a Ravenclaw doesn't mean you have to hide and study all term, right? I haven't seen you around at all." She worried about the girl actually was she not getting along at school and not saying anything. She hoped not at least. Turning her focus back to Ethan she leaned in and whispered, "I have to do one of these." She was already nervous to do it so she didn't want to say it to loud.
Ethan alternated between catching up with his cousin and watching the events of this first task, which he heard had something to do with Runes and Divination.. two subjects he enjoyed remotely, but not his best ones. He'd look forward to the Herbology task. If he could see it, that is. He could hardly see anything from where he was sitting. They should have made seats closer or something and he wondered if the rest of them would be the same way.
Before he could express that thought to Claudette, he caught sight of the person he came to see today. "Hey gorgeous," he grinned as he pulled her into a hug. Even if he couldn't really see what was going on, at least he would get to sit and spend the day with Minerva. He glanced between the two girls as she greeted Claudette, giving his cousin a curious look. Hiding? Hopefully something wasn't going on with her.. "I can't really see a whole lot," he informed Min as he squinted out towards the arena. Who was winning? He couldn't even tell if someone was making better progress.. Then he turned his head slightly towards Minerva as she whispered in his ear. "You do? Min, that's great," he grinned, proud of her. Of course she would be picked to do one. She was really smart. "What subject do you have to compete in?" If he had to guess it would be Transfiguration. That was her best subject..
Claudette smiled lightly at Ethan as she talked about school and asked him about Uni, focusing more on him. Hogwarts had been rather boring to her, if she was honest, and besides that horrible bearded detention, there hadn't been really anything to tell. And she couldn't tell if Ethan was relieved or concerned. He had an odd expression that she couldn't read. But because he didn't comment further, she didn't ask. Instead, the French girl tried to peer at the different arenas as she conversed, trying to see.. well, anything.
A movement near them and Ethan's voice made her turn her head. Oh, it was Min.. Claudette gave her a bright smile as sat down, then shrugged lightly and chuckled a bit at her words. "Oh, I've been around.. it's not all studying. I guess I have been hanging out in the common room a lot. And the potions lab.." But she was always so into potions so it didn't surprise her, herself.. but maybe she should be more social then she wouldn't find Hogwarts as boring as she did. "We really should get dinner again sometime.. it has been a while.."

Plus, he had blind trust in Odessa and Summer, very fresh and brilliant minds. His fingers were tapping his cane, a bit nervously.
They'd moved from there to over there, Bunz repeated in her head, nodding as her blue eyes followed Botros' gesturing quite seriously. Sure, sure sure, she knew what they were doing. Not. If only Ethan had been able to make today's task... between he and Botros, they knew everything there was to know about Ancient Runes. He didn't like divination, though, so maybe they were better off here without him.
"Well, well, it looks like we might just finish first," the redhead remarked loudly as two brooms zoomed in to the boys. Well done, boys, well done!! She found herself clapping animatedly.

"Yeah, but it still is not likely to be easy." Though, he wasn't quite as worried about his and Broni's task as he had been about Vihlem's near lateness. He had been pouring over numerous books in preparation.
He caught Karina sneaking a peak over her shoulder at someone and followed her glance over to a woman (Emily) sitting in the row behind them. Watching. Not the task, but themselves, his girlfriend in particular. Not cool, lady. 'Knock it off,' he mouthed to her before turning back around and checking his watch.

Botros was sitting literally at the edge of his seat when the two boys seemed to be working on the ground and moving to the plaque again, then talking. His hands on top of his cane were tightly holding it in place.
Then everyone spotted two brooms heading for the arena, and in it scooped up the two boys out of there. He let out a relieved laugh and clapped with the headmistress, more enthusiastically, he even stood up....
... okay, no one was standing up. There were some people who looked quite bored actually. Sitting back down.

"Very confident! Super confident! Ready! Very Ready!" Don't bounce! Don't bounce! Don't bounce! Remain calm. It was just man-eating plants. No big deal. Nothing to get overly excited about but nothing would dislodge the grin from her face.
She nodded a couple times as the Professor spoke. Sleeping well was relative, she slept enough and candy counted as eating well, yes? No? She wouldn't ask just in case. "Have I missed much? I heard we're leading so far. Would have been here sooner but you know." Lunch time, she was waiting eagerly for lunch time.

"HAI ELS!!" The Hufflepuff was plenty excited and it was making her forget that she was upset at the moment at a certain ex-Hufflepuff. Today was just a really exciting day. This tournaments with their tasks, one of which she would be entering. She was already having trouble trying to remain calm. Merlin, she might just hyperventilate when she actually got down there! Or no, no, she'd have to focus so they could WIN.
Excellent, wonderful, brilliant.. Seren was certain she was grinning from head to toe. "Good, I'm sure you'll show them what Hogwartian's are made of," she noted condfidently. The foreign students seemed to be quite unusual, very, standoffish and perhaps a little skittish... seemed easily rattled, or at least not very comfortable in their surroundings. Home advantage was great.
"You didn't miss much more than I did," Seren acknowledged with a shrug , "but from what I can gather, we're doing very well." Leaps and bounds ahead of the others, the boys were speedy, and Botros taught them well.

Nearly lunchtime.....
Oooooh lookit, the girl was reacting, like a child... how sweet, and positively disgusting. Emily's expression didn't change, the girl didn't make her feel uncomfortable let alone startle, so meh. She'd been about to ask the foreigner if there was a problem, but her attention soon turned to the boy beside her, mouthing a... was that a warning? How cute.
Headstrong. Annoying. Children.
The fact that they were Durmstrang students annoyed her more. She knew this because of their accents, which were clearly not French, and nor was it British... not to say all Hoggies were Brits, but more or less.
Then there was their behaviour and attitude, so much 'tude; it was characteristic, even cliche of them. Emily was almost tempted to converse in tongue to them. It had been a while since she used her Swedish - her mother would be proud, for sure - but her Czech and Russian were quite strong. One of them would surely strike a chord.
"Is there a problem?" she asked innocently enough, making a show of taking a moment to look around the stadium at the other spectators before fixing her gaze back on the pair.
------------ TASK TWO BENTLEY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the second time that day, Seren returned to the stands to observe the competition, this time, task two... the one she was most nervous and excited about. She knew she had done the right thing in nominating Alexa, and it came as no surprise that the Gryffindor was selected to represent the school. The girls enthusiasm and dedication in her preparation was promising, because if Lex was a whizz at Herbology without completing the assigned reading, without studying the subject in her own time... then this added focus would only increase her capabilities. In addition to that, Alexa seemed the best candidate to support Katrina and complement the Slytherin's skills. Team work, would be critical.
She'd made certain that she wouldn't be late this time, and as a result was present, VERY present for the start. Watching the girls enter the cave gave her goosebumps, and she was anxious to see what their task would be. Hopefully, it would be something they've been prepared for in class. Fingers crossed.
So the French Headmistress was not oblivious to those around her. But she wouldn't wave back; she was not a buffoon waving peasant. Merlin-forbid it! Yet she wasn't rude either, which is why she gave the slightly older woman a polite smile.
"I can't cheer for any side, technically. But I do hope your students do you justice, between you and me." Amoretta said quietly to the woman. Did that give any indication who she was?
The brunette turned out to be an ally on her side. Madame Maximillienne was silently pleased. With a polite smile back she mouthed out."Zey better do me proud considering that I chose them to compete in this competition, instead of uzzer students." Yes, she had only chosen the best.
Averting her attention to the proceedings in ze arena she wished she could see more of what was happening down zair and how Zeline and Beau were faring.

Looking down at the arena, Wade could see how well his ruffling hair-buddy Alec and West were working together. Things were looking good so far.
"Bonjour monsieur," Made Maximillene said politely as the boy passed her seat, a glittering badge on his chest. He seemed familiar sort off or she mistook him for somebody else. Many students came and went at her prized school after all. "Avez-vous été à Beauxbatons Institute of magic??"

João wondered just how long he could stand the cold before shivering incontrollably. He was certainly close to that point, and it took him an extra effort to look in the direction she pointed. But he managed to examine Head Auror with his eyes without losing control of his muscles yet, though he didn't dare speak either--he was definitely getting better about cold--and then didn't really need warming charms anymore. Because Dylan was apparently here, and because she must have seen him before. She was only showing her boyfriend now. He forgot about warmth and started studying the guy with a face hardened by cold. He spent a lengthy time studying the blonde snogger, never leaving Aspen's hand, then turned forward.

Yea...the staring had been weird. Dylan cleared his throat and smiled, hoping not to have offended the woman. He did have a deep respect for her, considering he'd been a Quidditch Captain for over three terms and had worked hand in hand with the Headmistress at times.

"WAY TO WORK IT OUT, WEST!" Rune buddies, he and the Odessa had been. If there was anyone in the school that could've done a better job, Dylan wanted proof...and even then, he wouldn't have bought it.
Oh, the second task was starting, which brought up Hudson and Alexa. What was the subjects for this?
Offhandedly, he thought his heard his name somewhere in the stands but chose to ignore it. Not his problem.

Yea...the staring had been weird. Dylan cleared his throat and smiled, hoping not to have offended the woman. He did have a deep respect for her, considering he'd been a Quidditch Captain for over three terms and had worked hand in hand with the Headmistress at times.
He was then clapped on the back, beginning to practically BEAM up at the man. Adoration. Dylan felt it for his ex-Professor, ten-fold. "I've never once doubted West's capability, sir." He was proud of his former teammate, and when he seen Professor Botros moving to stand and clap, only to sit back down...he himself stood. The former Slytherin didn't care if others joined him or not. It was a proud moment for Hogwarts.

Estella had been watching and listening intently to what was going on in the arena as well as in the stand. She had to admit that she was pleasantly surprised by the effort put out by the Hogwartian TEAM and even more so with the support they offered their champion. She clapped for them and even stood but then she frowned at the boy who seemed to be cheering the loudest.
"I do believe they BOTH worked it out and did an excellent job. It certain;y wasn't a one man show out there." She turned away. Goodness the lot.

Didn't he hear him when he said the boys? Botros corrected him gently, "Professor Elwood and I have never doubted Mr. Odessa's or Mr. Summers' capability." Botros was so proud of his hardworking students!
... oh, now that was unfair and a little insensitive. Ab frowned up at the Slytherin alumnus but quickly heard one of the judges speak in their direction. Uh oh. Ahem. Botros agreed with her, but didn't utter a word. She was one of the judges and if he accidentally got on her bad side... well, it would be disastrous. And unprofessional.
He pulled the former Quidditch captain closer to him and away from the judge in case the young guy felt like... snapping at her or something. "It just isn't the school-spirit a Hogwarts student should possess, son." Even if it was out of pride and excitement.

Proud girlfriend moment happening.
Ella was grinning and had stood up out of her seat to clap along with the rest of the crowd, feeling extremely happy. They'd done it, figured out the first task! Not that Ella had had any doubts. West knew lots about lots and Alec was brilliant even if he didn't always believe it and they had worked really well together, it seemed. He was getting congratulatory kisses for this, Alec was. West could have a high five or something too. The highest of fives. Yup. "Great job, you two!" Not that they could hear her because the blonde was far away but yeah, it was the truth! Hopefully the other Hogwartians were getting fired up by this first show of excellence. And was Alec going to watch the next task? Was he around somewhere? Could she find him and give him super!hugs? Mostly she just wanted to see his face and tell him that she knew he could do it.
............
Task Two!
Ella had eaten and bundled up and was ready to watch Kat and Lex kick some...bottom! Blonde!student leader!keeper buddy was going to rock and Ella had no doubt that Alexa could handle any situation. That girl had lots of spunk. The two would make a good team, she thought.

Hmm? Butterbeer? In this cold? Botros shook his head, "No, thank you. I better keep myself in check, I don't want to miss a moment." And if he drank something, he'd need to go to the WC. Maybe when this task was over. Botros looked back at the arena with great concentration, his hands squeezing the top of his cane.
Either Botros was more invested in this competition than Dora was, or he just got distracted easily. Either way it was more for herself, so she wasn't complaining. About him wanting a drink at least. The way the stands were filling up so quickly? She was complaining about that.
Her eyes took in everyone that was arriving and those that were gravitating towards Botros, no surprise since he wasn't just her favorite professor. But she hadn't just picked the free seat beside him because he was her favorite, it had also been because of no crowds. She wasn't a fan.
Dora was ready to get up and take a break from this, but she couldn't since her best AND Aspen were both there, and she didn't miss the interactions between them. She didn't miss anything.
The fifth year quietly moved away from the professor and his growing crowd, into the general vicinity of Alice, but not too close 'cause flying candy. She would just... stay here until she was sure leaving for a moment would be okay.

Having missed the first task, and hearing all about it throughout the school, Tessa could not miss the second task. The small first year arrived at the stands and found a place to sit.
While she waited, patiently for once, Tessa thought about what it would be like to compete in something like this for all of the school and visitors to see. She knew what felt like next to nothing compared to the older students competing, but it was nice to dream about being smart and schooled.

Better to just lurk.
That was just what she decided to do.
Luuuuuuurk.
Minerva had just sat down when she spotted someone. Was that Bliss.. That was Bliss, getting up without any warning she went a few rows in front of her, "Blissy!!!!" Throwing her into a hug, "How are you, how's school? We miss you here." Finally letting go of the girl she looked at her still smiling. "I'm so glad you came to this. It's so good to have you back." Fantastic to have her back really.
SPOILER!!: Ethan Claudette Wade Ariana

Minerva smiled bigger to his words, not that she felt she was gorgeous, but it was nice to hear from him and hugs, yes please. She wrapped her arms around giving him a hug back. She would take as many of these hugs as she possibly could when she could. Looking to the tasks it looked as if she wasn't going to see much. Well she hoped West and Alec would do well. She really couldn't see much. Maybe when the second task happened she would try to watch a little closer, but for now the person next to her was her main focus.
Smiling a bit more at his words she was glad he was excited for her. He had been the only person she really had to tell outside of school, so it was nice to have someone to share the moment with. "Yeah I'm honored to have been asked, but really nervous. I'm going to have to double up on studying and really manage my time more to get all of it in." She was nervous about everything now that it was getting later and later into term. She knew she still had plenty of time, but NEWTs, quidditch, and now this. Tilting her head a bit she smiled, "What subject do you think I would be asked to do?" Why not play a little game with him.
Looking up to Claudette she nodded, "We really need to do dinner more or just hangout anywhere really. If you ever need me best places to look are usually the library or ask someone to yell for me in the common room." That was pretty much her routines anymore other than the pitch and classes. She thought for a moment when she turned back into that lame first year that spent all her time at the library. She couldn't help but chuckle at the thought. "So who you cheering for? Old school or new school?" she was teasing really, Min didn't care who she cheered for it was her option since she had attended both now.
Just as she went to say more to Claudette she looked up to see Ariana sitting down near them. "Hey Ari" She smiled towards her best friend. "Having fun so far? I think we are doing well from what I can see, but it's kind of hard to see anything." She squinted down. They actually looked down. So that meant lunch break and then second task, right? She turned and looked at her little group that had formed, "I think it's a lunch break down. Anyone hungry?" She really wasn't, but would walk with others if they were.
Looking she grinned as a pickle loving, better hair than her own, great badger best buddy walked in. "Hey Kitty, come sit with us if you want." She looked around, "You know Ethan and Ariana, do you know Ethan's cousin Claudette?" If it wasn't for Indy, who she loved, Min would have so tried to fix Claudette up with Wade this term. Thoughts went to that stupid gossip paper, yeah maybe Claudette would have said no anyway after that stupid thing put her and Wade together. "Have you been here long, or just getting her? I think Alec and West just finished, but I could be wrong. It's so far away." Looking around she focused back on Wade, "Where's Indy?" She figured where Wade was Indy was usually.

Wade had smiled back politely as the Headmistress greeted him. He could feel his face being searched, which got him to ruffle the back of his hair sheepishly. Then she spoke, making him blink. Ooh, french. Fighting the urge to furrow his brows, since he wasn't fluent to respond back in the same language. He kept his smile though saying, "Ah... no ma'am, but my girlfriend Indy Hutchinson did for fifth year. I was at Durmstrang until then." He was pretty glad to have her occasionally speak it to him enough to recognize a few words, like "vous" for "you" and those connecting helped. "Your school sounds wonderful from what she's told me." France was beautiful, after all, so it was only natural.
Later on throughout the first task, things were going great. Wade was the edge of his seat watching West & Alec. "Yes, go you guys!" He hadn't paid much attention to how the other schools were going, things were just getting intense you know. He just wished he could get a little closer.. Hmm.. maybe he ought to get here earlier for the next task whenever it happens. Hey.. was that? Yes! Hogwarts was clear to move on. Wade clapped very enthusiastically for them before pumping his fist. "YEA! Way to go Spiffy Lec and West!"

For the second task, Wade was quite excited to watch. After they all had lunch, and Wade was done with his third BLT+Pickle sandwich, he soon followed making his way for a better view.. Oh, hello there group. He smiled at Min who was with Ethan, Ariana, and Claudette. They got beaming smiles from him too. "Hey.. don't mind if I do." Joining right in the sit with them, "How are you guys doing? It's quite exciting, isn't it?" Now did he know Claudette? "Oh.. yeah," Looking at Claudette, "That stuffed animal of yours still good?" He remembered helping her out some with it.
"Just came back here myself," Grinning, "Yeah, it sure looked tough what they had to do." Well, you know between all the thinking. He knew enough about runes, but with Divination.. yep. Oh yeah, Indy's whereabouts. "She's at an appointment for career advice.. Said she'd be here eventually." Hopefully.. Anyway, now he was looking out towards the arena.... Say, it was the Chocolate lover and his Head Buddy now down there. "Whoa, I think it's starting again soon."

Sassy woman. They were the best kind.
Dylan grinned. She had a point, though. Alec was being a beast, too...and his not mentioning Alec's efforts did seem a little mean. Not that he'd ever denied being a little mean...but he sincerely wasn't trying to be that at the moment. "....AND ALEC SUMMERS, TOO....FANTASTIC JOB, BOYS."
The best of Hogwarts had been chosen for this.

Mischa stared down into the arena, feeling more relaxed because both Broni and his best friend, Strom had made it on time. He even smiled a bit as he watched them as they conversed about the task. Well it looked like that to him. Who could tell from this distance?
Those two would figure it out. Whatever was they task, they would do it.
