Students, staff, alumni, and curious bypassers....all are welcome to join in the fun and have a seat here in the spacious grandstand. You can see all three contest arenas from here: Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and even Hogwarts. Never mind that all are tiny and far away and the contestants look like shrimps! They're doing great!
You're more than welcome to clap, cheer, hold up signs, and do the wave, but don't be surprised if the contestants can't see or hear you. They are FOCUSED. And they're also enclosed in their own little areas, but it's the thought that counts!
Madame Enzo had taken notice of the beautiful brunette sitting within ear shot and only a few seats away from her. She assumed that the woman was either here as a parent, judge or hogwarts school staff member. Waving with a perfectly manicured hand to get the other woman's attention she asked. "Which side are you cheering for?"
So the French Headmistress was not oblivious to those around her. But she wouldn't wave back; she was not a buffoon waving peasant. Merlin-forbid it! Yet she wasn't rude either, which is why she gave the slightly older woman a polite smile.
"I can't cheer for any side, technically. But I do hope your students do you justice, between you and me." Amoretta said quietly to the woman. Did that give any indication who she was?

Were the other schools living in some fantasy that they would let them come here and LEAVE with prize money? Oh no, it was staying riiiight hereee.
Alexa entered the Arena and tried finding a good enough spot to watch. Hopefully somewhere that had her friends? That would be nice.
While scanning the area she caught sight of a man (Dietrich) pelting people with jelly slugs. Neat! "Hey, Mister Sir? Can I have some of those?" Might as well if he was gonna waste it and just across from him a woman (Enzo) with really nice hair. "Your hair's LOVELY! Has anyone ever told you that? It glistens, I can tell." Lex said, taking a few locks into her hands and admiring them. "Very nice."
Glancing across she spotted Karina with that Mischa boy. They both got a grin and a way. This was all so exciting. With any luck they'd release something life threatening. AND CASSIA!!!! "HAI CASSIA!!!" One did not see their best friend and simply not say hi. "Did I miss anything interesting???" No? Glancing down, it didn't look like it. West and Alec were carving and those other schools were only still discussing. Hehehe Hogwarts kids be SMART!
The next person to catch her attention was none other than Professor Bentley. "Hiiiii Professor! I think I finally got myself fully done and prepared for this thing! Spent most of last night and into this morning trying to read stuff." Her eyes were only burning slightly but she was READY!!! BRING ON THE MAN EATING PLANTS!!!!
From her periphery, Amoretta was not oblivious to a hyperactive young female. Clearly Hogwartian; she would have more manners if she were a visiting student. And clearly more reason she hoped Hogwarts did not win, despite their home-ground advantage.
Seriously. If their students could act like a bunch of monkeys. You didn't see the French or the Norwegians acting like that. Scoffing quietly, she turned her attention back to the tasks at hand, trying to focus on what was happening in the distance....
Ström was too worried about the points lossage his missing schoolmate to speak much. He just sat there with Mischa and Karina and tried to keep from biting his nails. Because that wasn't something students of the great school of Durmstrang did. He did notice that both his friend and girlfriend were both tense and offered them both a small smile. "He'll show." He'd better.
"Finally," he breathed out upon seeing Vilhelm enter the arena. Seriously, almost lost us points there. Now they could relax and enjoy the competition. Hopefully.

The day was here at last, and all her hard work and preparations...and the work of her staff, she supposed....would be paying off. Annie just hoped Hogwarts would finish first. They were the best, so obviously they should also be first. Hogwarts had to send a strong message to those other, inferior schools. They WOULD win. This competition wasn't about learning something; it was about WINNING. #WINNINGGGG.
She adjusted the cuff of her sleeve and leaned in toward Botros, whom she was sitting near. "How do you think we're doing?" she asked her husband's former colleague in a whisper. "It looks as though we're winning..."
It also looked like those Frenchies were sweating right through their stiff little uniforms. Aww. How excellent.

Her face had lit up for a second as Lex had realised it was her, but faded again when Lex .. realised it was her.
"It's good to see you," she whispered, trying to gather her thoughts. What could she possibly say that would make the entire last half a year okay, or just disappear all together. What she'd give to be able to change every stupid thing she'd done. "I'm here ... for the events, I came with Beaxbatons," she explained and pulled a face. She never had made a friend there, but then again, she'd not tried. "And I missed this place."
"I missed you and I'm terribly sorry" she said miserably, hoping to convey EVERY single emotion she feeling with just one look.
Didn't work like that, thought, did it?
It was good to see her? Would have been nice knowing she was coming. It would have been the least she could do after not telling her she was leaving in the first place. From the corner of her eyes Lex noted Alice giving her looks. She would have tried interpreting them except she couldn't see them all that proper so she'd ignore them for now and ask her about them later. For now, focusing on the ....Beauxbaton student. Well that was new...and weird.
"You're one of them now? Hmph." Yes it felt like a betrayal. Leaving them to go to some stuck up french school far away and again, saying nothing to her. But why would she, it wasn't like they'd been GOOD friends. Nooooo, and pffft, not like they shared laughs and all that jazz. Definitely not. Scowl.
So much missing was happening. Of course Lex expected her to miss this place. It was the best flipping school ever. After this tournament thing she expected to see lots of transfers because they were going to WIN. "You should be sorry, you had me missing you and I didn't know know where you were or anything." Not the best feeling, you know?
And was that judge giving her mean looks? That was cool, Lex made a few faces at her, not sure she saw them considering she'd turned to the task again. Didn't matter, the faces were still made but promptly stopped the moment HER Headmistress showed up. We won't stop playing with THIS Headmstress' hair though. No. It was still nice.

It seemed the Durmstrang contingent was more relaxed now that Vilhelm made it to the arena. Mischa's best friend, Strom seemed ready to fall back on his old habit of biting his nails up until Vilhelm showed.
Mischa squinted down at the arena. "I hope they are making progress vith that task,'' he said under his breath. Hopefully Vilhelm's lateness had not caused Regina to panic. He was not one to start shouting out the name of his school and class mates to show his support. But everyone should know he supported Durmstrang alone.

Wade thought this event was kinda cool. You know, with the major events and team work going on. Maybe it was his badger feelings showing, but he was liking this. Having already made his way to the Grandstands earlier, he knew those current feelings of his would shift for reasons.. For now, he smiled along his way the appropriate seating so he could get a good view on everything going on.
There of course, were the visiting students, Headmaster, and Headmistress near him from his old school Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. "Hello, and welcome to Hogwarts. I hope your stay's enjoyable and the best of luck." Sure, it was part of the protocol to make others feel welcome as Head Boy. But this was Wade, and he loved making sure others felt comfortable and pleased. His smile turned sheepish once he saw Headmaster Zitnik, it had been years since Wade last saw him.. would he remember him from those frequent warnings of snoozing back then? Well, it was a good thing he wasn't feeling sleepy. Heh.
Looking down at the arena, Wade could see how well his ruffling hair-buddy Alec and West were working together. Things were looking good so far.
Though Mischa had taken her place next to her boyfriend, Ström she didn't mind too much. Her focus was still on the arena and on the surrounding crowd. The Durmstrangers needed someone to keep an eye out and she was there for them, that being said, she could still talk and watch at the same time.
"This task looks tough. Thankfully, we're put in tasks based on what we're good at." she said to the boys sitting next to her. She didn't say what she was thinking: that she probably would not have been able to do it; no need to let the rest of the spectators know her weakness, besides, her fellow Durmstrangers would understand her meaning.

If someone was looking at her, it was very likely that it would be threatening, and she would need to take precautionary measures. Using her peripheral vision, she sought out what looked to be... just a spectator. Hmm. Karina was still suspicious; she watched the spectator's eyes roam the crowd and made a mental note keep an eye on her.
A slow start to the round, a bit disappointing really, Emily had hoped there would be beasts, opponents or something combustible... alas, not yet. Yet. Which meant there was hope.
In the meantime she was particularly amused by said little redhead stealing glances at her. We see you. We see you looking whilst making it look like you weren't. Emily smirked, huffing to herself before burning the girl in the back of the head with her gaze. Didn't like to be watched? Well this would be good fun. It only added to her amusement to see the girls little friends... all foreigners by the looks, and sounds.. yes accents carried. Fascinating... not.
Though, she didn't want to miss the action, it was the reason she had come all this way, of course. The good stuff, the problem solving, the pressure, the mild chaos. Beauxbatons looked to be weakest, which didn't surprise her, and the Hogwarts representatives seemed to be doing surprisingly well. Durmstrang, thoughts of her mother aside, would be in for a treat, they were in for a challenge.
SPOILER!!: Alexa

Seren was intrigued and excited, keeping mostly to herself and watching the arena like a hawk, hoping the students wouldn't be harmed, and that they'd win. Alec and West were rather impressive, getting right into the thick of things, carving before any of the others... Hogwarts was looking pretty good at this stage. Even though it was early days, it was still exceptionally promising, by boosting morale, they were definitely in a position to win. Not to mention they had home-ground advantage.
"Alexa!" Seren greeted warmly, already thrilled to hear the Lions preparation was going well. As it should too. "Fantastic, feeling confident?" she asked, "Eating, sleeping properly? Remember you need to look after yourself to be at your best."
Things were moving too slow, but Dora was okay with this. It gave her a chance to look around at the faces that weren't familiar to her like the visiting students and their school heads. She kind of passed over the ones from Durmstrang and kept her attention on Beauxbatons. They had nice colors and all.
Of course her hazel eyes were all Botros when he was speaking. Respect. "I have an extra butterbeer if you'd like one." She smiled a bit brighter at his reaction, even if she was still relatively quiet since she was trying to pick up on the arena. Would they ever hear anything? She doubted it. She could hardly see anything, even with her glasses on.
Hmm? Butterbeer? In this cold? Botros shook his head, "No, thank you. I better keep myself in check, I don't want to miss a moment." And if he drank something, he'd need to go to the WC. Maybe when this task was over. Botros looked back at the arena with great concentration, his hands squeezing the top of his cane.

... was Odessa giving them thumbs-up all the way from there? Botros tapped his glasses with his wand and- oh! Yes!
"Yes, yes, we're doing great. Look, they've moved from there to over there," they were progressing. The other participants were stuck in their original location. This was a good indication.
Plus, he had blind trust in Odessa and Summer, very fresh and brilliant minds. His fingers were tapping his cane, a bit nervously.
Mischa wished he had thought of bringing a pair of binoculars. It was very difficult to see down in to the arena. However, he was sure Regina and Vilhelm was in deep conversation as they discussed their task.
He gave a nod at Karina's statement. Thankfully. And Durmstrang students were the best when it came to their academic areas. Regina's and Vilhelm's strength included Ancient Runes and Divination and the task involved that.
Mischa finally decided it was time to take a proper look around the Grandstand. Obviously Durmstrang and Beaubaxtions were outnumbered by the Hogwarts people. He recognised the young Gryffindor girl (Alexa) whom he met at the Hog's Head.
Now here was someone welcoming them (Wade). Wasn't that nice? Mischa considered ignoring him but it was nice to be welcomed at Hogwarts. "Thank you,'' he told the student though he showed no signs of wanting to be friendly. They were not here to make friends.
Léa arrived at the stands in thick, winter clothes with extra warmth charms on them. She was very vulnarable to cold anyway, and she liked this extra-cold England air less and less. The charms should keep her happy for a few hours, though, and she dearly hoped the first round would be over then.
Her eyes scanned the stands quickly, and she spotted her Madame and Sébastien after a few seconds' search. It wasn't that crowded yet, and she quietly walked to them.
"Bonjour Madame, Sébastien," she greeted with a bow and smile and sat at the other side of Sébastien.
They weren't going to... cheer, right? Could the contestants even hear them?

There were lots of people coming and going and it became very crowded. He kept his focused on his friends right there in the arena while his eyes glanced at the other two schools' competitors. He felt a slight hint of nervousness but he was camouflaging it. As Léa joined, Sébastien turned to look at her and smiled his lazy smile. She looked composed and not worried which was reassuring. His smile grew larger as he looked at their Headmistress. "Oui, Madame. I'm super eexcited and ready." He said with eyes sharp and an easy smile.
Also, did that man toss candy at his friend. The boy's eyebrow shot up at the man then turned to the arena but another thing caught his attention. Alexa, the girl he met earlier at the street was touching his headmistress' hair. He knew enough about the female gender to know that it might not be taken lightly.
So many distractions. He would have loved to ge engaged in conversations or just watch what was going around except that he was more concerned about what Zéline and Beau were doing. Eyes fixed on the arena ahead, he leaned toward Léa and asked, "Ready?" Just a simple question which she would understand. Lunch wasn't that faraway, was it?

What was it called again?
Shaking her head slightly, Charlie pulled her Hogwarts scarf closer to herself and found an empty seat in the middle of lots of other empty seats, looking around for somebody she might know.
Elodie supposed school pride was something she had to be cool with right now, and maybe group cheering and whatever went down at things like these. She spent Quidditch matches holed up under her bed as to not come into contact with this sort of thing (and brooms, but shh), so she had no idea. She may have had a little flag thing in her bag, but that was for people to find out later.
May have.
MAY.
The opportunity of seeing attractive humans from other schools by going was one of the reasons she went though. It was nice to look at and appreciate males who probably were made in factories. Nice to look at. Hi there.
But she was distracted before even one attractive male got looked at, or got chance to look at her. BLISS RYANS, WHUTTA YOU DOIN' HURR GURL?!?! Els passed people in a BIG hurry to get to the girl, passing Charlie in the process and giving her a head pat (HI CHOO) and a hurried explanation and a wave. (BYE CHOO) Sorry other people. Move. Thanks. Going to see person who was pretty daft in every book Elodie had. Dafffft. "B!!" She grinned, dropping quickly to sit near her and Alexa Caaaambridge.

Lex felt unsettled. Perfectly ready and rearing to go but unsettled. Kinda like she needed to just get let loose on an open field to run around until she got rid of all the excess energy that was now building up. Shouldn't have had all those chocolate frogs this morning, but they were necessary to calm the jitters.
"Very confident! Super confident! Ready! Very Ready!" Don't bounce! Don't bounce! Don't bounce! Remain calm. It was just man-eating plants. No big deal. Nothing to get overly excited about but nothing would dislodge the grin from her face.
She nodded a couple times as the Professor spoke. Sleeping well was relative, she slept enough and candy counted as eating well, yes? No? She wouldn't ask just in case. "Have I missed much? I heard we're leading so far. Would have been here sooner but you know." Lunch time, she was waiting eagerly for lunch time.

Oh LOOKIT!!! Elodie was here now.
"HAI ELS!!" The Hufflepuff was plenty excited and it was making her forget that she was upset at the moment at a certain ex-Hufflepuff. Today was just a really exciting day. This tournaments with their tasks, one of which she would be entering. She was already having trouble trying to remain calm. Merlin, she might just hyperventilate when she actually got down there! They had got snacks on their way in too, stopping at the Three Broomsticks, and Dale had a Latte in her hands.
"Where do you want to sit?"
Dale had to be the only person at this point who could've talked Dylan into coming here...
Dressed for cooler weather, the former Slytherin followed her up in the stands, stopping randomly at different intervals along the way. Namely to cast glares at ex-classmates and old chicks he'd hooked up with. Meh, he wasn't the type to be overly smug about that...but it was what it was.
"I don't really care?"...because, you know, he didn't.
There were snacks clutched in his hands, various things he was holding for himself and Dale equally. Why not, right? It was considered gentlemanly. All she was holding was her latte. "I just request that we sit near my old Runes professor, Botros...because I want to speak to him." See? That was all.

Fine by her. Why was that a question though, Dylan, hmmm? Dale just shrugged one shoulder and sipped her latte. She saw her own headmistress not so far away. Sure Dale wasn't involved in the competition, but she'd keenly signed up to go along and support things.... in theory. Really it was just an excuse to not be at school though. And.... she recognised some people. From that party. Interesting.
So which one was Botros? She had no earthly clue.
"Want to make a wager or two, Montmorency?" You know, after they sat down. She shot him an innocent look. Not loaded at all.

When she turned to walk further that's when she noticed the girl from Hogsmeade (Broni) What was her name again. Minerva tried to think of it she knew it started with a B, but her mind just kept going blank. Well not blank but knowing she would miss pronounce it. So she just smiled at the girl, "Hello, good luck to your classmates and yourself if you are in one of the tasks. " Was she in the tasks, well Minerva wasn't sure, but at least she said good luck. The girl seemed nice at Hogsmeade so Min wanted to make sure her and her friends still felt welcomed.
Eyes still focused on the Durmstrang arena, Bronislava caught a movement out of the corner of her eye that seemed to be coming her way. Ever alert, the girl's eyes snapped in that direction as she heard the voice. It was that girl she had met in Hogsmeade - Minerva, the one quite friendly and helpful. She may be her competition and Bronislava would still consider her that, but she would admit - if only to herself right now - that she sort of liked the girl and her words were kind. "Zhank you," she responded quietly, allowing the edges of her lips to curl slightly n a faint smile. "And to you as vell." But not too much good luck. She came here to win.
Her eyes back on the task at hand, Bronislava was aware that the grandstand was becoming more filled but she kept her focus on Regina and Vilhelm. Though it would have been nice to have omnioculars as she could hardly see them at all. She couldn't tell of their progress. She glanced briefly over to her schoolmates, as they seemed a little chatty. Late? She wasn't sure what they meant as the boy came in after the girl but also thought it unwise to display insecurity. "Don't vorry.. zhey vill do vell," she said with a smile certain of her words as she turned to them. It was best to appear confident in front of the competition; never let them think you have an doubt. Besides, she had every faith in her schoolmates. They knew what they were doing.

And.... she recognised some people. From that party. Interesting.
So which one was Botros? She had no earthly clue.
"Want to make a wager or two, Montmorency?" You know, after they sat down. She shot him an innocent look. Not loaded at all.
Realizing that she probably didn't know exactly which person was HIS Professor Botros, Dylan took the lead, gesturing for his companion to follow. He moved up the steps, searching out a particular face...and found it with ease (...because who else looked like Botros?!). He carefully stepped over.
"I heard West Odessa is a champion for Hogwarts. You might not want to bet against him." Just sayin'. Kid was genius-level smart. "...unless you want to bet in his favor, in which case, I'm not betting against him." Casual shrugging for you, Miss Scam...Shooting her a brilliant smile, Dylan stopped short of where his old Professor sat and turned his smiling in that direction. It was now more like a 'beam'...because the Slytherin deeply respected this man above most people.
"Sir."...and he was with others, namely the Headmistress. He just kinda gave her a look.....A long one. The woman looked nice today...but Dylan didn't have words for her. Just a respectful nod of acknowledgement. Sup.
He went ahead and took a seat nearby...So he could talk to the man.

Joćo had initially thought this was a Quidditch match, but wasn't relieved to find out it was a Triwizard of some sorts either. He had sworn to himself many times he was done with this school, but there he was again: with Aspen, on some stands in Hogsmeade. It wasn't quite Hogwarts itself, but the students were still there. In fact, there were lots of them. They couldn't even see the competition areas, but he knew he should be there, for Aspen and West; even though the latter would probably be disappointed if he knew Joćo was there.
So. Being there. In a sweater and jeans, and with every kind of warming charms, but there.
Maybe, if they found this Alice girl, they would leave early?
She tooooootally wasn't late Nope, nope just everyone else ( including the task) had been early, yup. She might of been just a tad been late though, like a few minutes, mainly cause the chilly December air was around and she had to prepare herself some hot chocolate to bring out here with her. Prepared Ariana was Prepared.
She walked out into the stands the first task coming to an end, which they should of waited for her to get here cause she missed practically All of Odessa's part of the tournament. No worries though, Hudson was in this too, right? she thought she heard her mention something to her before she left this morning, after tossing a pillow at her, but Ariana was tired and didnt budge. Sorry Hudson.
She pulled her Jacket around her a bit more as she spotted no one other then her best friend (Minerva!) and went and just sat next to her, completely ignoring the other girl she was talking too (Broni) "i know i'm late i know." she said knowing her friend would question her lateness. " it's cold and my bed was actually warm and comfortable this morning." which was saying something cause her common room and dorm we're under the lake, and therefore always chilly. Was that Dylan, just there, with some girl she was unfamiliar with? Had to be, she wouldn't miss him and his aura of ego it could be seen from a five mile radius, but, she was STILL mad at him and not his friend at the moment so no hello's for you Montmorency.

They weren't leaving early. If anything, Aspen would stay all night if she had to. She wasn't leaving when her little, but giant, brother was front and center. She would probably never truly understand why he played Quidditch or ended up as the Hogwarts rep ... it was the last thing she'd ever wanted. To be seen and up front with SO many witnesses. But he did it well, always, and she was proud to watch him - and also ALWAYS watching out for him.
She scanned the crowd occasionally, noting Emily. And Dylan. Alice.
Lastly, she scanned the face of her personal Brazilian boy, Mr. Joao Neves. She handed him her mittens and grinned. Poor baby was always cold. "I'm glad he's in there with a Hufflepuff."

You know. Fodder.
Mittens? Joćo shook his head, unable to see the humour. He was far too nervous than he should be, and that resulted in a serious Joćo. His hands were already in the pockets of his jeans anyway. He wasn't cold now, but if they were going to stay all night, she might actually need to set him on fire to melt his frozen body.
He should have stayed two more months in Brazil, and pass England's winter on Brazilian beaches.
"Me too." Because Hufflepuffs were fodder to him as well. Because it was too rude to admit he couldn't see a thing from here, he turned to her and asked "Do you know what he is doing there? I mean... in detail?" He got this was the boring version of Triwizard Competition (and he was very glad for that because that ensured West would be safe), but he didn't know the details.

Joao NOT seeing the humor of mittens on him... was what made it all the more funny. Aspen actually found herself laughing at him - something he hated. Not that that ever stopped her. Ever. She reached over and tugged on his scarf, making it just a little bit warmer for Mr. Warm-Blooded-I'd-Rather-Be-On-A-Beach.
"No, not exactly. I'm sure it's puzzles though, logic, translations. Things like that." Pause. "All things he's equipped for." Aspen and West had spent an entire childhood with puzzles, translations, maps, and... experiments. She watched West, regardless of DISTANCE, she could somewhat read him, for a time. "I don't know why he volunteers or allows for this sort of attention." It did not make sense to Aspen at ALL.

Joćo looked at her in confusion while she laughed, then frowned to himself--hating her laugh, for sure. He couldn't understand what was so funny, but he was too proud to ask her. So, ignoring the laugh completely, he focused on the details instead and nodded when she paused.
"So it's safe." That was his priority, not for West himself primarily, but for Aspen. He didn't doubt West was equipped for puzzles. Judging by Aspen, Odessas had a knack for that kind of stuff. He turned his gaze to the competition area too, because apparently there was some action there.
......nope. Still not seeing much. Attention back on her.
"He's confident, and he likes to show it." He shrugged. People didn't scare West as much as they scared Aspen, apparently.
"Any hint of Alice?" Y'know, since they could see NOTHING--don't give me that 'But I feel my brother' nonsense Aspen, I know you don't know anything about down there too--they could at least be productive.

....baha. Aspen looked away, way too pleased with herself for getting under his skin by laughing at him. Baha. Joao was her favorite and with her left hand - always left - she took his hand and held it.
She couldn't commit to it being safe. Not at Hogwarts. Not when she watched Dementors attack him last year. No use in "hoping" for it to be safe either. Hence Aspen's continuous attention towards baby brother.
Confident and liked to show it. Yeah... Aspen glanced at Joao. Yeah. That was definitely West. Maybe Joao understood him more than he knew? She just eyed for him a second, then looked away.
"Yeah. That Gryffindor is over there," Aspen tilted her head. "Want to go sit with her?" And Aspen grinned here, though it was sort of grin that came after a promise of trouble. "Haven't seen Derry yet though."
