Default The Corner Room

Beside the Restricted section a new room has magically appeared. Mr Kitridge stumbled over it when he was following a trail of rat and wombat droppings. The room has been newly furnished with bookshelves, a few comfy sofas, reading lamps, side tables and a few plants. On the shelves you can find books, pamphlets and magazines about any and all magical careers/professions known to exist in the magical world.

Come in, grab a magazine or book and dream about what you want to work with when you graduate from Hogwarts.

Any questions, please ask Mr Kitridge.

Whaaaaaaaaaat was this? West had spent a LOT of time in the Hogwarts library and he'd never been in here before. Kinda nice. There were plants and stuff, that was good. Had they been watered? West went and checked, and then just to be sure (because after all Kittridge ate poo fish that one time and West still wasn't convinced that he always thought things through) he cast aguamenti and watered said plants. Just a bit. Just enough. Yeah.

But what was this lil' area anyways? Looked pretty comfortable for studying... oh hey. What were these? Brochures? About careers and whatever. West started looking through them, pausing on the Curse-Breaker one with curious fingertips.

Schuyler had been touring different parts of Hogwarts today, and one place that she still had yet to investigate was the library. Up until now, that is. She ought to explore it, seeing as her OWLs would be taking place this year.

The brunette had mazed her way through the stacks, passed the hues of light shining through the stained glass windows, and eventually found herself before a room tucked away in the corner of the library. Another student already occupied the room, but that didn't bother her. He seemed interested in one of the pamphlets on the table. He was also awfully tall. She knocked on the side panel. "Hey," she greeted, moving into the room, her eyes scanning from one wall to the next. "What's this room for?"

The Curse-Breaker one, West looked at almost wistfully. It didn't have the same appeal as it used to and he was torn over it. He'd wanted so much to be like his dad before, but now? It was different. And confusing. The funny part was that his sister hadn't wanted to follow in their father's footsteps and yet she was, and it suited her. Go figure.

The Quidditch one was next and he wasn't completely sure that he could even look at it right now, but West still picked it up, just as he heard a knock and a voice. An unfamiliar one. West looked up in a casual and wholly unprepared sort of way, and was totally completely caught off guard. Run over by the Hogwarts Express and such.

She was really really pretty. He forgot how to speak for a few moments there, which was definitely weird. Definitely.

He quickly fixed his eyes back on the pamphlet. Regroup.

"Hi." That was a good start. A sound with meaning. Keep it coming, Odessa. "I... its new. A new room. I don't know. Career stuff I think." He looked up again cautiously.

Really pretty.

Really pretty.

Sofas, plants, books, end tables. It was cozy in here.

Her eyes landed upon the plants. Some of the leaves were dripping, and she wondered whether this boy had watered them. Maybe he helped out at the library. There was a pause after her question. He had to have heard her, this was a library after all. So she turned to look at him, only to see his eyes already on her. For a moment, at least. He diverted his gaze to another pamphlet, and she bit back a smile. "Aah, okay."

Schuyler took a few steps towards the table and peered down at the brochures. Quidditch and something about curses were the ones on the top. "Quidditch player?" She asked, an eyebrow lifting a little with her inflection. Leaning over some, she pushed a couple of the pamphlets away like a deck of cards, then plucked up one that had an assortment of wildflowers on the top. The lone word on the cover was 'Herbology.' "Careers.. I'd say you're right."

Quidditch player. Yeah.

"I have been, yeah. On my house team for the past four years... starting chaser." But y'know... no guarantees he'd even make the team this term. Yeah. That depended on the captain. Thinking about that did distract a bit from all that tongue-tying pretty though so West didn't mind too much. He followed what she was doing with the pamphlets and eyed up the one with the flowers. "Its all a bit overwhelming." Y'know. The future. What to do, what to choose. All of the things.

Okay. Words were good. He'd sort of regathered himself a bit, and West made eye contact and straightened up, managing a crooked half-smile. "I don't know you, you must be new." Yep. Definitely new. Definitely.

Starting chaser for four years straight. That was pretty impressive. "So, you're a seventh year? ..I'm guessing by your height." That probably played to his advantage. Long arms equaled easier access to flying quaffles, right? At his mention of things being overwhelming, she tossed the pamphlet back on the table and scrunched her nose. "Don't remind me." She reorganized the brochures back into a neat pile, with the quidditch one returning to the top once again. "But I've still got three years to smooth ideas out."

New, yes. Everyone still knew her as the new girl. Was Olly getting this overdose of 'newness' as well? Maybe it just seemed more apparent because Schuyler had never moved before she had relocated to London. And to Hogwarts. "I am," she nodded, peering up at him. "You are looking at newly sorted Gryffindor, Schuyler Emmons." And she mirrored his smile with one that was a little less crooked. Now, she was talking to..?

Seventh year? West looked astonished, and then amused, and then somewhere between modest and proud, like he couldn't quite decide if he should be smug about this or humble. That was the war of his Slytherin side with that almost-Hufflepuff side. Constant battle.

"Fifth actually." So he'd been starting chaser since first year, yes he had. He couldn't get rid of the smile that was brewing now, and it was a proper one.

Gryffindor. Y'know, West, like your Girlfriend that you're all in love with and such? Yes. Like her.

"Schuyler." He repeated. Schuyler.

.... now do YOUR name, Odessa.

"West Odessa. I'm in Slytherin. Do you play Quidditch?"

Conversation. It was happening. Good job.

Schuyler recognized a few different expressions pass over his face, and because she wasn't really sure what to make of them all together, she waited for him to speak. Oh, right. Okay, so he was a fifth year, not a seventh year. She blamed hormones and growth spurts for her inaccuracy..

This also meant that.. "Whoa! Wait, you made the team as a first-year?" Was this normal at Hogwarts? She abruptly turned and snagged that quidditch brochure again before creasing it in half and slipping it into the pocket of his leather jacket. "That's all I have to say about that." You know. That he actually could consider professional quidditch as a possibility.

She nodded. Yes, Schuyler. Schuyler, who had now met West Odessa from Slytherin house. "I played this past year at Salem, but I was second string until a few matches in."

West blushed a tiny little bit. He actually sorta needed the props right now, so it was... nice to hear. "Yeah I did. Me and my best mate Theo both did. We've always played chaser together." Kind of a wicked team, and both of them had worked so hard and paid their dues and all of that. "Last year we won the championship, Slytherin I mean." Like... the whole team.

And... blink. She sorta almost manhandled him there. He looked at his pocket where the edge of the brochure peeked out. Well. Maybe some dreams still lived and all. The smile now was warmer but West didn't comment on the brochure there, just sort of smoothed his pocket down with one long finger.

Salem. That explained the accent there.

"You going to try out here?" For his girlfriend's team. "Gryffindor are definitely looking to shake things up a bit."

"You going to try out here?" For his girlfriend's team. "Gryffindor are definitely looking to shake things up a bit."
Wow, good for him. And same to his best mate... Theo... "Theo?" Schuyler glanced at him with a laugh that she really couldn't help. Had she managed to pie the most popular boy in school or something? It did add to the story, she thought. Dora's words of 'everyone knows everyone' were becoming even more cemented as truth. "I've met your friend, Theo. And his girlfriend Dora, as well."

West enlightened Schuyler to the fact that the Slytherins were reigning quidditch champions, and she smiled because all of these quidditch accomplishments seemed to mean a lot to him. He was passionate about it, clearly. "I hope you know that you'll have to prove your skills at your first quidditch match, then. I'll be scrutinizing." And that went for that Theo character, too.

Was she going to try out? Schuyler shifted her weight, pushed her lips to the side. "I don't know," she answered finally. It wasn't the first thing on her to-do list, but it was a possibility. There was no harm in trying out.

"Oh yeah?" West lit up as he tended to when his friends became the focus of conversation. They were important to him. "He's my best mate, but me and Dora are real close too. I kinda set them up and all." Truth. "Who else have you met in our year then?" She'd said she had three years left to think about things, that meant she was fifth too and all.

"Well the pressure is on I guess." If he made the team. He wasn't being down on himself, just realistic. He knew he had to show out well, that his place wasn't a given. In a way that was better. He'd hope that Derry wouldn't just put him on the team for reasons, he wanted to earn it, as he always had. He needed to re-prove himself to himself. He wanted to keep his jersey number too. It was important.

"Its a pretty good way to meet new people. And the Gryffindor team are great. Our favourite team to play, because there's no drama, its just fun and Quidditch, and good sportsmanship between us." Unlike some other situations that had arose the previous term. But all that was done with now, West hoped. He smiled encouragingly. Go on, sign up, try out.

Dora had been paired with Theo via Best Friend West? That was cute. "Add matchmaker to your list of potential careers," Schuyler remarked. Who else had she met. She had given this same list to Dora just earlier today, so it was still fairly fresh in her mind. "Well, I've met Dora and Theo. A new guy, Stan. And a bunch of people at once on the train - Cat, Mo, Elodie.." So many names to recall. But Schuyler was good with names. "Vesper, Blue, Nigel.. Cassia." Cassia she had gotten to talk with more, and Cat at the Whomping Willow. As far as the Gryffindors she met at the table, she couldn't remember which were fifth years and which ones weren't. Schuyler saved the best for last, naturally. "And I also know Olly, she smiled as she tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear. "She's new to Hogwarts, too."

"Pressure can improve performance." With some people. In other cases, it could be one's ruin. And West was right in that quidditch was probably a good way to meet people. There was something about being on a team that couldn't really be compared to anything else. Who knew, maybe she'd try out, maybe she'd pass. "Either way, I'll be at the matches."

"It has been known to happen." The matchmaking. "But only for my mates who ask me to help them out. I don't interfere or anything." And what Schuyler didn't need to know was that it had originated from West wanting to share the awesomeness that was getting a good snog with his mates, without, y'know, being directly involved in said snogging, since his own lips were usually spoken for.

West sat down in one of the comfy seats, practically folding himself into the chair due to his height, but looking quite comfortable once he'd got himself situated. He nodded along at the names. "Don't know this Stan guy yet, but as for the rest... Friend. Best friend. Friend. Good friend. Best friend. Friend. Good Friend." He supplied with a quick smile. She knew his people then, pretty much. He sat forward a bit and beamed. He knew Olly. "Olly? I met her, I rescued her from a creepy old hag in Diagon Alley pretty much," he said modestly. Yip, total hero over here.

"It can." He agreed with that assessment. Pressure was good, and if there wasn't external pressure then he put it on himself anyways. "The matches are pretty awesome. And if you decide not to play, maybe you can sign up to commentate, its pretty fun." West had taken a few turns at it the previous term himself. He and Jake had made an epic team.

"So were you looking for anything particular 'round here or just exploring?"

"So were you looking for anything particular 'round here or just exploring?"

'It has been known to happen.' Sounded like Theo and Dora weren't the only ones he had set up. "How many couples have you gotten together?" Even if it were only the one, that was something Schuyler would have been proud of.

When he took a seat in one of the chairs, Schuyler went ahead and made herself comfortable on the sofa behind her. She grabbed the pillow and placed it behind her back. Kudos, Hogwarts. This was a comfy sofa here. As West rattled off labels of best friend, good friend, and friend, Schuyler took the opportunity to study him for a moment. Not a single one who wasn't a friend, she noted. He had met Olly? Schuyler would have liked to have adopted a poker face so that her body language didn't give away her sentiments towards Olly, but.. she failed miserably and beamed just the same. "Yeah? What do you think of her?" Judging by his expression, Olly was also on the list of 'friends' now. "And that was very heroic of you to save her from an old hag, West. I'll have to ask her about that," she smiled. And get her opinions on the Slytherin at the same time.

She considered his suggestion of commentating. "That could be pretty fun.." Especially when her friends played. "I'll have to make an effort not to be too biased when friends or my house team play." Yes, probably not every game, but maybe she could commentate a few if she wasn't actually out on a broomstick.

"Just exploring," she answered him, crossing her legs and placing her interlocked hands on her knee. Schuyler wasn't looking to be a latecomer to her classes, after all. That lost them house points. "I still have a lot to meander, but I've gotten to see a decent amount of the school." She turned to look at West again, her head tilting some when she spoke. "Do you help out at the library, then, or..?"

"Uhh... three? Yeah." He didn't mind helping his mates out one bit. If they came to him and all. Or y'know,he'd facilitate stuff past that weird awkward stage that some people that weren't West tended to get, and then they were on their own. He just wanted his mates to be happy really.

He was more relaxed now but still somewhat fixated. Pretty, y'know. Like really pretty.

"Oh Olly's cool. The hag thing was pretty gross on account of she stunk and was crazy, but I wasn't going to just abandon her either." West said casually. Pause. "I mean, the hag stunk and was crazy. Not Olly." Just to clarify.

He recognised already that Olly was difficult and stuff, but that wasn't anything that could or would stop West from making friends. Case in point: Theodore Kinsley. Best mate, worst 'tude. "I hope I get to hang out with her some more. I saw she got Hufflepuff at the sorting." Interesting to see if she got along with Kaiden or not? One of his last remaining puffer mates on account of Bliss leaving.

"Its loads of fun, commentating." West agreed. "And nobody minds a bit of bias and all." There was pretty much always some going on, he found. But it was all for fun and not a huge serious thing.

His eyes were drawn to the leg crossing. They just were, but West didn't dwell. "It took me a couple years to fully explore everything, on account of the castle is so big and on account of it keeps changing." It did. Random rooms only existed on certain days and all of that. Sometimes one route was faster, sometimes it got you completely turned around. "I feel like with all the magic what has happened here in the last thousand or so years, its a bit like Hogwarts is alive and it breathes and lives and has moods just like anyone." So West sort of tried to respect the castle and treat it good so it didn't lock him in a room and starve him to death or something. That'd suck. "Did you work out where all the classrooms are? What classes are you taking?"

Help out in the library? He shrugged. "No... I mean, not as a thing or whatever. I just like it here when I'm not on the pitch or mucking about with my guitar."

Oh, and also...

"Me and Theo and Ascanius are thinking about throwing a party so that all of you new people can get to know the rest of us." West beamed at her. "On account of I wouldn't want anyone to not feel welcome or anything, just because loads of us have been mates forever." Heyyy maybe he could invite Peyton and Bliss? It'd be cool if they could get away to come along.

"Three?" She quirked a brow and looked at him. "You are the matchmaker. Who did you set up?" Even if she didn't know the people now, she was bound to meet them sooner or later. And didn't Dora say that she and Theo had been together for a year and four months already? Clearly, they were pretty compatible, and she supposed West had a bit of a knack for knowing who would get on well with whom.

Schuyler was pleased to hear that West thought Olly was 'cool.' Yes, she was. Even back when they had met at Wiseacre's, there was something about Olly that grabbed Schuyler's attention. Her lips curved in amusement by his clarification that the hag had been stinky and crazy, not Olly. "And how did you manage to save Olly from this woman?" Was the lady hassling Olly or something?

Hufflepuff was a very good house, but it would have been so choice if they had both gotten Gryffindor. "If she likes you, I'm sure you'll hang out." Or maybe the three of them, that'd be cool.

Nobody minded a bit of bias at the matches, yeah? That was convenient. Schuyler had a feeling she would favor her friends despite any efforts to be neutral. Quidditch was a difficult thing to be neutral about. She listened to West's analysis of the school, how exploring the castle wasn't something that could be done in a week, that it was ever-changing. When he expressed how he thought of the school almost as a living thing, rather than a building, her eyes stayed on him for a moment. "I had never thought of it that way." It was quite insightful, though. Almost artistic, or poetic. Interesting..

Classes. "I've hunted down most of the classrooms I'll be going to." Preparation. She would be an idiot not to do so beforehand in a school with moving staircases and secret passages. "As for what I'm taking.. Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Care of Magical Creatures..." she shrugged. "The norm." West would be in a fair number of her classes, too, yes? Being a fifth-year and everything. His next words informed her that he actually didn't help out at the library, and she also learned that the Slytherin was a guitar player as well. "Regardless, I'm sure the plants thank you for the water."

Oh, what was this? West and his mates were organizing a party? Schuyler grinned widely. "Ahh, really?! That's awesome. And sweet of you guys to welcome us new kids so graciously." And with a party - that was even better. "You can count me in."

"Well... I helped things along with Mo and Cat..... uhh... and Kaiden and Mika a bit, though they're kinda... off." They HAD liked each other though, Kaiden had just been a little slower on the uptake with things. Them being weird now had nothing to do with West though. Clearly West was good when it came to uniting people from different houses. Which... now that he thought about it, was there anyone in their year that was dating someone in the same house? Weird.

How had he saved the day? Well. "Threats and half an apple." He said with a nod. That was explanation enough, he thought, and true too. And he would've taken action if the apple bribe hadn't worked, West had no problems with that given his dad was an Auror and his sister was training as one. Use the law to your advantage and all that.

"Oh I'm sure she does." Sure that Olly liked him. West smiled affably. The list of people that didn't like him wasn't all that long. Though he HAD made an enemy of a firstie this term already. Whoops. But that little girl was a brat though and deserved it. "People like me in spite of themselves sometimes I think." Like when someone felt they shouldn't like someone on principal or just because their nature mean they weren't all that inclined to make friends in the first place, somehow West was particularly good at winning them over. Which was perfect because you couldn't just stick with a first opinion on someone, he thought you needed to get deeper and see what really made them tick. And maybe sometimes those sorts of grumpy people weren't used to someone actually making the effort to really know them, and West liked to.

He slouched down in the chair a bit and stretched his legs out, eyeing up his sneakers idly for a moment before looking up and finding himself meeting Schuyler's eyes full on. She had nice ones, he noted. "Uhh... well... I guess I overthink things sometimes, but it sure doesn't just feel like a bunch of brick and mortar." It was a place where things happened, and West was just sure that Hogwarts itself had an influence on all things which happened within its walls. Yup. Way to go, Odessa. Personify an old crumbly castle. Impressive.

He blushed the slightest bit and examined his sneakers some more. "I'm dropping Arithmancy this year... and I dunno, I was going to drop Muggle Studies but there's a better professor teaching it now so I might go and see if I like it. I still haven't worked out what other classes to drop, and even if I don't do all the OWLs then I'll probably just show up to the lessons anyways." Because he liked learning stuff. So. Yeah. "I guess we'll be in a whole bunch of classes together. We could maybe work together some time." And... she was observant about the water. He glanced towards the plants and then by way of explanation, "I... like plants. Herbology stuff." Flesh eaters were better though.

And yes, the party! He gave her a full beam smile and straightened up in his chair. "Well I'll be sure to let you know more details about it once we sort a few things out." Like where and such. Room of Requirement was out of the question since it cost so much to use it now.

Schuyler knew the first couple, but the second was new to her. Kaiden and Mika. She shrugged when he mentioned that these two were now 'off.' Not all couples lasted, and she doubted it had anything to do with West's setting them up.

Savior West, rescuing Olly from an old hag, armed with nothing but threats and half an apple. Quite the arsenal he had there. She gave him a look that was paired with a slight smirk. "Of course. That explains everything." But she wasn't asking him to elucidate. She would get Olly's version of this old hag adventure later. Oh? He was certain that Olly liked him? Well, to be frank, Schuyler didn't doubt this. Neither did she doubt his second statement because they were only in the midst of their first conversation and already Schuyler felt inclined to like him, too. "Sounds like you're a likeable guy, West Odessa."

Stretching out his legs only emphasized their length, but it was his eyes again where her sight settled. "I'm still feeling out Hogwarts, but I don't think you were overthinking in that instance." Some people were the opposite and unfortunately didn't appreciate things that ought to be appreciated and thought about.

She smiled some at his blush. A lot of people were so convinced that blushing was uncool or something, but that was ridiculous. It was your body's natural way of being truthful. And Schuyler was convinced that it was endearing on anyone - girls or boys. "We'll definitely see each other in class then," especially if he did follow through on going to classes that he didn't even really need to go to, as far as OWLs. His suggestion that they work together one day in class brought a soft smile to her lips. "That'd be nice."

So he liked plants, and that's why he watered them. Her eyes wandered over to the plants arranged on the tops of the shelves, then back to the cover of the Herbology pamphlet. "I like flowers," she said, off-hand. Plants in general, but flowers were what she was really fond of.

Yes! Schuyler was excited for this party he talked of, and her expression illustrated this. "Of course, yeah. Awesome! Let me know." She had no idea where this party might be held, but the thought left her head in a moment. West and his boys were figuring it all out.

Well it did, or it would once she presumably heard Olly's take on it all. He straightened up a bit, bolstered by this likeable thing. And then y'know, all casual like: "I guess I try to be." It wasn't that he was bothered by not being liked, but also what was the point of being difficult when it just made it harder on you, right? And he liked people so it wasn't really any skin off his nose to be friendly and genuine.

"Its more like itself this year so far." And he was glad the food was back, even if there were other parts of the term that had started out to be a disappointment in a very personal way. He might've offered to show her around some, but West had liked exploring on his own, and he thought that was part of the fun really.

"Sure." In class. And definitely he would be keen to work with her, in pretty much anything. Especially as long as Alice kept choosing to work with Mo in classes over him. Schuyler had a nice smile, he noted, and of course it just made him smile more. And blush a little more. She was really pretty. Confusing really, he wasn't usually the sort to get overly effected by a pretty face, not when there was so many other more important things about a person underneath.

"I like flowers." He said, "But I prefer them planted and stuff, or in a pot plant, and not cut. I mean I kinda find it weird how people give murdered plants to each other y'know? Better to give something living and vibrant and real."

He nodded again about the party and made a mental note to be sure that it was really awesome. Wouldn't want Schuyler to get let down or anything, right?

"Mm, so I've heard." Schuyler's thoughts went to what Cassia and Dora had said about Hogwarts' situation last year. No house elves, no laundry, paying for everything, basically. Of course that would change the atmosphere of the school. Again, Schuyler was thankful that it was this year that she had had to transfer.

So it was settled, then. They would work together in class at some point(s). "So, what's your favorite class?" She scooted forward and lowered her eyes to the brochures again. The herbology one was right on top - now that the quidditch one was in West's pocket - and herbology was as good as any, so she took it and unfolded the heavy paper before she began refolding in a new way. Her way.

"I like planted flowers," she agreed, eyes still steadied on her folding.. Until her next sentence, when she glanced his way with a guilty smile. "But I confess, I like cut flowers as well." There was an art to arranging flowers. Her parents always had fresh bouquets in the house, and they always smelled lovely. Looked lovely. Schuyler failed to understand why in the world muggles might decorate their houses with fake ones, unless they were allergic. What was the point, if they weren't real?

After folding the bottom of her new brochure creation, she set the paper crane down upon the table and leaned back into the couch again. "Ta-da." And she didn't even use magic.

It was all through the papers and all so West wasn't shocked that Schuyler had heard. Gosh she was pretty. He'd read a lot of the old news about all the Hogwarts stuff when he was working at the Daily Prophet during the summer, even though most of that time had been spent talking to famous Quidditch players and watching practices and things. Anyways, West thought the return to usual Hogwarts food was the best part so far, it was the part he'd missed the most for sure.

His favourite class though... Well that depended if she meant favourite subject or favourite lesson, it was different given he liked some professors but their subjects weren't his most favourite, but then there were subjects that he loved where the professors and the classes weren't always his cup of tea too. There was really only one that ticked all the boxes. "Ancient Runes." He admitted. Maybe it was a bit nerdy but he loved it, and Botros was the best professor around, and saved his life one time and everything. Also you could blow things up. Bonus.

What was she.... West watched her folding the herbology brochure with interest, and looked up in time to catch that little smile with the guilt tinge there. "Most girls do. I just think the concept of it can be a bit weird sometimes, like... if its flowers because you love someone or because of a relationship or anything like that, then its sorta like... do you really want them to die? It might jinx things, whereas if its like a pot with flowers in it, its more like... you want it to grow and get even better." Like dead flowers = dead relationship. Maybe. WHYWASHETALKINGABOUTFLOWERSANYWAY? Man. Sappy. He needed to find his zen.

Oh... what was... West blinked and eyed the now folded brochure. What was it? "How'd you do that?" Fascinating.

Ancient Runes? Now that was one that Schuyler hadn't expected. There wasn't any one thing in particular that was wrong with the subject, but in most cases it was kind of boring. Or it had been at Salem. "Interesting answer." She couldn't recall which professor taught that one, but she supposed she would see soon enough. Then she could make her own opinion of Hogwarts' Ancient Runes.

"I do believe we're getting pretty philosophical with flowers," Schuyler said with a little laugh. Though she liked that West took the time to think about things like that and analyze them. Too few boys did, she thought. Anyway, maybe it originated from the convenience of picking flowers; it was easier to do that than dig one up and put it in a pot. "Have you ever given anyone a potted flower?" Just curious. Her mom had been given potted plants by neighbors or friends occasionally.

Oh, hadn't he seen? "I folded it." Though she knew that he'd indeed seen her, she stated this plain fact regardless. "Used to do it all the time when I was a kid.. It's the only origami I know, though." She was no pro. BUT, her childhood bedroom had been filled with them.

Probably not what she expected, but then who usually expected Runes to be a person's favourite? West didn't feel any bit bad about it, she'd see soon enough if she was going to take it and all, and if she hadn't been going to, maybe she would now.

He smiled a little. Sure. Nothing wrong with it right? He was thoughtful, it wasn't a crime. And yeah for someone considered such an extrovert, West did do a lot of insightful, quiet contemplation. "I have, it sort of depends on the situation, and on the flowers. Some flowers don't really work so well in a pot plant, so that's the only situation where I'd give a cut bouquet."

He eyed the folded paper again. "You could maybe show me how some time." West would liiiike that.... and honestly a bit more one on one time with her wouldn't go amiss either. He stood up though...

"I'll see you at the party yeah?" For now... he had things to do, and probably shouldn't spend much more time sitting here being all sparkly-eyed at how pretty she was. "And maybe some time we could work together in class."

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiif she wanted.

¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls

It took Forrest a few months to gather the courage to enter the Library again after Sonea incident, and he still wasn't 100% comfortable here. He knew he hadn't been at fault at all, but he felt so. He was extra-careful not to be seen by the Librarian, whose name he still couldn't quite get, and got into the first room he saw. It wasn't a conscious decision to go there, so he was panicked at first thinking that he was in a part of Restricted Section... but it didn't look so... standing on his tiptoes, he grabbed a magazine and randomly opened a page.

'A Seer is a gifted wizard or witch who has the ability to see into the future with their Inner Eye...'

What?

He skipped a few pages.

Known Seers

Cassandra Trelawney was a famous, celebrated witch and Seer. She was the great-great-grandmother to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft...

He checked the magazine's cover, and it was a little bit clearer: The Art of 'Seeing': A Profession or a Gift? He put it down to where he had taken, and grabbed another magazine. This one was about being a curse-breaker (like Michael's mum!) and another spoke about being a Minister for Magic. So, this was a room to draw a career path, but it depressed Forrest to think about his future. He was going to be a third year in six months, and he had to select classes before that, but he hadn't even started thinking about it.

Maybe he should spend the afternoon here and check some professions.

Hmm.
