High up in the top-most reaches of the Castle is a tower dedicated to Ravenclaw House. You come across the entrance in the form of a door with no handle or lock but a single knocker shaped like the head of an eagle. If, and only if, you answer the riddle that the eagle presents you, you may gain entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Hey, there's a reason that Ravenclaw is the house for those with brains.
Upon entering the Common Room you see a number of things but mostly you see the floor to ceiling windows that span around almost the entire curved room. Beyond their panes you can see what looks like all of Hogwarts' campus and the majestic mountain range beyond. One sweeping look through them and you can see the Forbidden Forest, Quidditch Pitch, The Greenhouses, the Black Lake, and even the shimmering light from the windows in Hogsmeade. At nighttime, the glass reveals the starry night beyond.
Placed on the center of the curved wall is a large fireplace with plenty of navy blue sofas and armchairs placed around it. They are there for students to lounge as they work on homework, socialize or just relax and enjoy the view between lessons. A crowded night in the Common Room for a party or rowdy game of Gobstones? Take a seat on the newly installed deep blue carpet.
Along the wall you entered there is the Announcements Board where all things will be posted regarding school events, lessons, and homework as well as the Study Tables that are provided for a more structured setting for Ravenclaws to do what Ravenclaws do best. The Grey Lady, the House ghost of Ravenclaw tends to visit this spot especially every now and then. And last but not least, to the right of where the impressive statue of Rowena Ravenclaw herself stands, is the staircase leading to the dormitories. Once you ascend these stairs, going to the right will take you to the ones allotted for the girls and the left will lead you to the ones reserved for the boys.
Come in, relax, have fun and make yourselves at home.
Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Homework was finished, and Charlie was glad about that as she made her way back to the Common Room from the library. She had a rather large stack of books in her arms, but the stairs to the dorm did not look inviting right then, and so she slumped onto the nearest couch, and dumped her books by her side.
They could go up, later, when she did. Right now, there was yawning and sighing, and an urge to move closer to the fire.
But she couldn't be bothered.

Coming down from his dorm after changing after Quidditch practice, Aidan ruffled his still wet hair. He was debating going to find a Cat to feed him or go to the Great Hall instead. Just in case he decided on the former, he twirled his Official Taste Tester badge between his fingers.
For now, he was gonna try and get his hair to dry by the fire. As he walked over, he saw Charlie collapsed on the couch. "You look like you just came from practice, too," he smirked at her. Of course, she hadn't, so what had she been up to?

Another yawn, and the thought of closing her eyes was becoming much more appealing to Charlie. The fire was nice and warm and she was officially very tired and...
Her legs curled up beneath her, the fourth years eyes flicked open at the sound of a voice. She had just been blinking? After all, it wasn't her fault the fire was so warm and stuff. "Practice? I wish," she said with a little grin, patting the seat next to her. "Practice sounds a lot more fun than homework."
Although, having never actually played Quidditch before, she might be the very opposite of Aidan: aka, she would probably be super useless and therefore hate it. "Not drying your hair?" Do you want to catch a cold?

Léa needed little assistance with the place of Ravenclaw common room - she was clever enough to follow a blue-robe person, thankfully. She had little trouble with guessing the riddle too - did they call that 'clever'? - and now that she was inside the room, she studied everything with deep curiosity. She intended to, at least. However, upon entering the room, she was greeted with the spectacular view and she couldn't help but gasp lightly. The night had already fallen down and despite the winter it wasn't very cloudy, so the stars were visible. She tried to hide her fascination - Beauxbatons was still better; nevertheless, she walked to the window side, sat down there and watched the view.
To say it was breath-taking would be an understatement. Her breath was promptly and effectively taken away.

Aidan dropped himself onto the couch beside her, smirk still on his face. "So that's what you were doing? Homework? You look exhausted." Even for homework. "What homework were you doing?" Super long Charms essay? Rigorous Herbology assignment?
For the record, practice was more fun than homework. And more worth the tiredness.
"I am," he answered, running his hand through his hair some more, "I let it air dry. The fire helps in winter." Because the castle was cold, and no, he wasn't trying to catch a cold. He had Quidditch to think about.

"I.. started early." And finished late. And may have worked all through lunch. But Aidan didn't need to know that, right? Charlie smiled at him, trying her best to look a little more upbeat. "Charms. History of Magic... and some extra Arithmancy work." Because the beard obsessed guy? Not a good teacher. Hmpht. If she did look that exhausted, though... well, that was slightly embarrassing.
Ah, at least he wasn't planning on getting ill. That would have been... well, rather stupid. "You want help?" Charlie couldn't help but ask, looking between Aidan and the fire and tapping her wand against her palm. Technically it was 'air' drying.

Gaston was used to the change of environment every now and then which was why when he was told he were to stay with the blue house he had no issues adjusting at all. If anything he was pleased to check out some new girls as well as he was ready to do some mischievous things that he had come up with. He just needed to familiar himself with a few things first and to do so he would spend time with his temporary roomies.
It took him only a moment to put on his sweats and a jumper, then leave downstairs to where the common room was. He went straight for the announcement board and began to skim through what was pinned.
He wanted to know of the happenings of the castle. His theory was if you wanted to know about them then you had to be like them and to do so you needed to learn their routine.
Mischa strolled into the Ravenclaw Common Room. There had been no trouble in finding it. Simply observe a Ravenclaw. The common room itself did nothing to impress him. The view on the other hand was a different story. And it was the view from the windows that impressed him.
Mischa stared down at the Forrest. How wonderful it would be to explore that place...

Boys. And older boys. None of the pretty foreign girls that Mo had spotted around the castle, which was a shame. Very. Very. Sad. Still, Mo was friendly, so he gave both of the new pseudo-house mates a polite nod as he came down from his dorm carrying his broom and a polishing kit.
"Gents. Welcome to Ravenclaw. Are you settling in just fine?" He seated himself on Vesper's couch and began the excruciating practice of checking his tail twigs. Least favorite chore ever.

Léa was distracted from gazing outside as more people came in, and she turned her attention to them. After studying them, she decided that Mo was the cutest boy so far, though the Durmstrang boy might have a chance too, and smiled at the Hogwartian.
"Zank you," she said--he was the first person to welcome her, frankly. "All is well so far." Except the losing-to-Hogwarts part, but she could manage.
A broom? A player, indeed. These kind of 'trivial' information came in very handy most of the time, especially with boys.
Kalla was NOT scowling this afternoon as she entered the common room, her bat gripped tightly in her hand. And casting a glance around she froze for a moment. Invaders!
No.
Those were the Terrible Acronym participants from the other schools. Interesting.
That ONE was pretty impressive. In the face.
YOWZA.
Anyway.
YEAH.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. And our common room," she said quietly as she plopped onto a sofa. BREATHE, KALLA. "Is there anything we can do for any of you to help you acclimate?"

Oh, there was a girl. Mo's pleased-to-meet-you face turned into a broad grin. French too, so maybe he should recognize her from his two years at Beauxbatons. He gave her a scrutinizing look before deciding his memories were just too fuzzy to be helped.
"It must be hard to attend classes and sleep in other people's common rooms. I know Hogwarts isn't a thing like Beauxbatons, but... d'you mind it terribly? I'm Marcus Branxton. Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain." Since it was a thing that had to be included, not bragging. Nope.

Hopefully they would all say no...
Kalla appeared, and Mo cut a look at her. She looked like she wanted to take someone out with that bat, but her words were polite. His expression flickered briefly to caution, and then Mo settled back to working on his broom. "That's a good question. What can we do to help you lot settle into Ravenclaw tower? Maybe a party? We throw excellent parties. Ravenclaws are first in fun." Last in most everything else, though.
"Ahem" Gaston cleared his throat as he took one last peek at the noticeboard and then turned his head to face the others in the room. He at first spotted Lea and gave her a wink in greeting. He had things he wished to discuss with her later. For now though, he turned once more this time towards a Hogwartian possibly around his age, or possibly younger.
Flashing his French grin, Gaston spoke to him as the boy sat down. "Zank you, Meester?...." He waited for a name then continued. "Yes, yes. I feel at 'ome just about anywhere."With slight interest the french boy wondered if the boy had any valuable information and the only way to find out so was to ask. "Do you know many of the ladies 'ere?" If there was one thing Gaston was not it was shy.
The words of women. Gaston's grin turned into a smirk as he watched another Hogwartian enter and sit on a sofa. "Yes, zere is somezeeng you can do." He sat beside her and gave her a wink. "You can tell me your name?" The more girls he met here the better. In fact Gaston would have been happy to meet each and every girl in the castle if it were possible.
Mischa now turned away from the window as a voice filled the common room. A quidditch lover obviously. "Thank vou,'' Mischa replied. "Yes.'' He was not in a very chatty mood. Was he ever? But the boy was being friendly plus he was supposed to be staying with the members of this House. "I haff actually met two students from this House already. They told me they are the House prefects.'' Nigel was the name of the male if he remembered right.
Another Ravenclaw soon joined them. "Thank vou,'' Mischa repeated. "Nothing at the moment.'' Mischa shook his head at the male Beauxbatons student. Interested in the ladies. More like interested in finding out all he could about possible competition.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. And our common room," she said quietly as she plopped onto a sofa. BREATHE, KALLA. "Is there anything we can do for any of you to help you acclimate?"
Hopefully they would all say no...
Anything SHE could do?
"Zank you for ze offer. Your kind words are enough." Léa smiled. She was good at coaxing, and she hoped this girl liked it. But honestly, she looked so desperate for them to say no that the French believed they all would, even if they actually needed something.

So the cutest-so-far boy was Marcus, and he was a cappppptain! Léa LOVED people in charge! Her smile got warmer too, and she shrugged nonchalantly.
"I won't deny zat eet iz 'ard," she said - who knew, maybe they would 'get to know' each other better if it was 'hard' for her - "but I zeenk it weell be fine with your 'elp."
Should she acknowledge the captain thing?
"I used to play too, but 'ad a minor injury. I've never tried ever since." Shrug.

Kalla noticed the cautious glance and was not okay with that. She was an Ogden, she knew how to behave herself. MHM. And she was SMILING and not looking at all desperate to get out of there and away from those people. Chill out Mo.
GAH.
Kalla gave him a fake, toothy grin and blew air kisses at her captain. Seriously.

Oh wait...
What was this one doing? He was sitting awfully close. And despite how pretty his face was she was a bit uncomfortable. Legit.
"Is there something in your eye?" she asked bluntly as she swept her braid over her shoulder and turned her eyes on him. Now. Her name? Was she willing to give that up? He was flirting, yes? PEOPLE WERE DOING THAT A LOT LATELY.
"Kalla." And she might have smiled a small smile at him and extended her hand. Heh. He was French... which meant he KISSED hands, no? Or was that a gross stereotype?

Kalla didn't break her gaze on the pretty one as the other one spoke...
"Well if you do need anything let me know, yeah?" And hopefully he wouldn't. THere was ALWAYS someone more suited to helping people than she was... Heh.

Why did she get the feeling the other girl was being rude? Hmmm?
Again though, Kalla didn't LOOK at this one either. She was busy staring.
"Most of the time when people are being genuine there words are considered more than kind. At least that is my experience." Oh was she still holding her bat? Hmmm. Better put that down.
THUD!
She dropped it to the ground and continued to stare as she pulled her feet into her seat.
Sighing, Tora weighted a book in her hand. Was this heavy enough? Well, it would have to do. The second year dropped her History of Magic textbook in front of her while she plopped on the chair. Time for some Charms practice! She whipped out her wand, but set it to the side so she could practice the wording to the spell first. "Carpe Retractum," she said slowly. "CARPE RETRACTUM," she said a little louder to herself before picking up her wand. This should be simple, right? No problem, after all she did the spell already in class (sorta). Pointing the wand at the book, she cleared her throat and said "Carpe Retractum." Nothing happened. What? She was positive she was pronouncing it right, and she had said it clearly enough. Perhaps she wasn't concentrating well enough? Her eyes shot up to where some other Ravenclaws were having conversations with other people she didn't feel like talking to. She would move to the study tables and see if she had better concentration without all these people distracting her. She gathered her things, and smartly headed for the tables at the sides of the room.
With the next task so soon, Gaston knew he had to act quick if he wanted what he had schemed on. This was his plan B to the rejection he received the other day and hopefully this would work unlike his plan A.
Acting as casual as he could, just not too casual, Gaston placed some of his chocolates, cauldron cakes and pumpkin pasties on one of the tables in the common room. This was the best way to be non-suspicious.
Soon he would have the attention he had wanted, whomever took a chocolate, cake or pasties directly from the table would become a 'number #1' Gaston fan. As for the others receiving from a friend...well..that was their loss.
But for one thing nobody would be able to tell these chocolates were indeed spiked. Gaston had been sure to hide every bit of evidence that he could.

With classes ending early for the day, Claudette had thought briefly about taking her lunch outside to eat al fresco, but a glance at the stormy sky of the charmed ceiling in the Great Hall told her the rain outside would make for no picnic weather. So she opted for eating at her house table, making a mental note to make plans with a couple of her friends for the next day, hoping for better weather. Though the rain wasn't all bad.. She wasn't sure why, but inclement weather always made her want to stay in, working over a bubbling cauldron. The blonde wasn't sure if it was the warmth of the potion over a flame or just the comfort of her favorite pastime.
Once she was finished with her lunch, the 16 year old started on her long journey back up to Ravenclaw Tower. She knew it didn't make a whole lot of sense to go all the way up there, then all the way back down when the Great Hall was that much closer to the dungeons, but she had none of her supplies to brew any potions with her. Besides, maybe it would be prudent to read from her book and figure out what she wanted to brew before she got back down there. It wasn't like she was in that much of a rush anyway, she had nothing else really planned for the rest of the day now that it was raining.
Once she stepped inside, Claudette took notice of those already present and took a seat in one of the plush chairs after giving Gaston a nod. She had known of him from her days at Beauxbatons being a former classmate, or at least of his reputation, and didn't think it would hurt to be friendly now that he was here for a time as well. "Bonjour Gaston," she said before pulling her potions journal from her tote bag. Now.. what to brew?
She flipped lazily through her journal, trying to decide on what to work on when her eyes darted up every now and again, finally falling on the plate of sweets on a table nearby. She looked at them curiously for a moment, then in the immediate vicinity. Where these for anyone? She wasn't sure.. though she supposed she wouldn't mind something a little sweet after her lunch..

Nigel was of course on the couch starfishing or just being lazy. Both were basically true. You had to prioritize the time you had the couch to yourself. It was never empty. Someone was always laying down hogging the whole couch. So now was his turn. He did have some important things to consider concerning recent events. So when the foreign student left some food on the table. Nigel pulled from his thought and intrigued by the food. He was a big fan of free food.
Just ask Cat.
Though he should have at least ask some people if they wanted some. Just leaving them on the table is suspicious. After all the crazy stuff going on that Nigel did not care about. But after peanut butter cookie dough pancakes and some lasagna. Even Nigel was pretty full. That did not stop him from staring at the free food. Not one bit.

Raven looked up from her book and stared at the chocolates, cauldron cakes, and pumpkin pastries on the table. They looked delicious, and she knew they wouldn't be out on a table so many like that if they weren't for everyone. No student could be saving all of those for himself! So the teachers much have put them there (so she thought) for the students.
Raven picked one of the cauldron cakes up happily and was about to take a bite out of it when she remembered the ice cream she had eaten in the last term. That too had been a sweet and it had made her to some embarrassing things. Hmmmm... It was probably nothing, but for now she just put it in her robe pockets for later.

The only reason Kendall had ended up back in the common room was because she knew that butterflies didn’t have scales, feathers or fur that she could use for the Potions lesson. That meant she needed to think of a different animal, and since she didn’t want to be a flying horse either, that had narrowed the choices down to owls and Accio. She’d seen several people look like they were heading for the Owlery, though, so she’d veered toward the Ravenclaw tower instead. She would have had to take a feather from a school owl or Patrick’s anyway, and she wasn’t sure if he’d like if she took a feather from Orion. She would have asked for it first, but her kitty was just easier. All she had to do was find him and snip off a bit of fuzz from the end of his tail or something. He still was extra fuzzy from winter anyhow, so it was probably not anything he’d miss.
As she’d stepped into the common room, though, her eyes had scanned over a pile of sweets on one of the tables. She could easily see that there was chocolate there, but seeing as it wasn’t anything that appeared to be school-related she’d stay away. She hadn’t actually fallen for the ice cream thing last term, but she remembered it too well. At least, she remembered the dementors. Anything that could remind her of them wasn’t good, so she’d skirted the candy and continued looking for her orange tabby. Finally locating him curled up on a window ledge, she scooped him up and petted him for a few seconds before taking her wand out. “This won’t hurt at all, I promise,” she whispered, aiming at a clump of fur sticking out near the scruff of Accio’s neck and using a quiet Diffindo to snip it off. Her cat jumped down and started batting at the fur, but she leaned down to rescue it and pocketed it and her wand, scratching his head before heading back out to the stairs and eventually the dungeons. She didn’t want to be late getting back.

Blue was going to study for once, believe it or not. That's what she was telling herself anyway. She'd most likely do about forty-five minutes and then start making paper airplanes. Much more amusing. The fifth year hugged her books to her chest as she came down from the dormitories. Not before checking that the common room was fairly empty. And her favourite armchair was free. Good. The study tables were just uncomfortable in every way.
The Eaglette made a beeline for her spot, not before pausing to eye up the chocolates and other treats on the table. FREE FOOD. She didn't even stop to think that it might be a little suspicious but Elwood was a cutie the way she did things like this for her house so... Blue reached down for a cauldron cake and took a bite. And then continued on her way before flopping down into her chair and finishing off the sweet.
NOW. Study time. Blue set her books down on the floor before flipping through her Care Of Magical Creatures textbook.
Gaston watched and stayed for a moment, knowing if he left in such a hurry he would look suspicious yet he did have other things he needed to do. Such as prepare for the tournament that were to continue the following day. He was just about to leave when he saw a familiar face.
It took him a while before he realized she was a former Beauxbaton student. What he could not remember was her name which was why when she greeted him he paused for a short moment before smiling his pearly white smile and then finally greeting her. "Bonjour, Mademoiselle."He nodded at her, then looked towards the boys dormitory.
Yes, he would leave now, he needed to study. "I must prepare for tomorrow, I shall see you soon." Hopefully after she had eaten one of his sweets. He got up and headed away.
