Ravenclaw Common Room {banner by sweepinkpixie} High up in the top-most reaches of the Castle is a tower dedicated to Ravenclaw House. You come across the entrance in the form of a door with no handle or lock but a single knocker shaped like the head of an eagle. If, and only if, you answer the riddle that the eagle presents you, you may gain entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Hey, there's a reason that Ravenclaw is the house for those with brains. Welcome to Ravenclaw! |
anyone feel free to grab her :3 Well now THIS place was suitable for an Ogden. FOR REAL. Kalla loved it already! She had been standing at the windows, face almost pressed to the glass, for quite some time now. The view was breathtaking! If she was one of those artsy people she would draw a picture, or write a poem... but she wasn't so she STARED. Memorizing every inch of what she could see. She was going to write to Garrick and tell him he had sorely undersold this place. MHM. With a somewhat satisfied smile, Kalla moved and plopped onto one of the many sofas around the fireplace. Her home for the next two years wasn't NEARLY as bad as she thought it was. |
Kalla & Mosef Now time to relax and do nothing in the Common Room. Maybe Starfish or Levitate? That sounded like a good plan. Nigel entered the room with his bag of Whizzbees and flopped on one of the couches barely even noticing the one other person in the room. Nigel put one of the candies in his mouth. sucked on it, and started levitating. The Prefect turned his head and saw it was the girl from the Feast. The one that Alice knew. Might as well ask if she wanted a Whizzbee. "You want a Fizzing Whizzbee?" Now onto a important matter to think about Like wondering what it would like to have a flying broom race in the common room. That would be awesome. |
If Mo could predict what he's spot when he walked into the common room, it would involve at least 3 open books, someone eating something inappropriately sticky for upholstered furniture, and Nigel starfishing on the sofa. He was wrong on two of the three: not only were there only two people in the room, neither of whom was reading, but Nigel wasn't laying on the sofa. He was starfishing in midair. At least Mo had gotten the sticky right, but if Nigel trusted himself to eat candy, he was prefect and could be trusted. Mo plopped on a nearby couch and sufficiently ignored the floating Starfish for the moment, his attention on the girl. "You have a flower name. Lemme remember." He tilted his head. "Lily. No... close but... Calla? It's pretty. Does your mum garden? Mine does a lot, but she didn't give any of us plant names. That's good because I'd make a stupid looking Sage or Parsnip. I'm Mo." In case she forgot. "That's Nigel in the air, there. He's prefect, if you can believe it." |
Kalla had drifted into a state of... daydreaming she supposed. For she had not initially noticed the two boys as she stared up at the domed ceiling. How wonderful was it? AMAZINGLY wonderful, it was. MHM. But boys were talking... and she didn't always ignore the less fair sex, unless they were related to her. Heh. Turning her head she smiled at Mo first and then looked back up at Nigel. She was still considering letting him be her pack mule. He just didn't know it yet. "Kalla with a K, but pronounced like the lily, yes. My mum would never allow her hands to get dirty enough to garden. Never. But she does like to look at flowers other have planted in her garden," she said with a chuckle. She considered Mo for a moment. He was a good looking boy. GOOD LOOKING. "You'd make an alright Sage, I reckon." Kalla's 2 knuts. Heh. Now her eyes drifted back up toward Nigel. "No thank you." She did give him a pleasant smile, though. He was good looking, too. Were there any ugly people at Hogwarts? WHY HAD SHE NOT COME HERE SOONER?! Guh. GUH. "You're Prefect? So is it part of your job description to levitate around the common room watching everyone?" Genuine curiosity. Legit. "Do the house elves deliver food up here?" Random question was random. |
We see you guys but this is for Aidan This wasn't relaxing time for Dora, who had usual after feast plans, but had found herself in the common room with a couple of her friends and the new girl Alice had introduced her to. She was alright, they all were actually good in her book but she didn't go over and sit with them. Instead the fifth year went over to the opposite side of the common room and picked a window seat. Putting her glasses on, she pulled out her book and pen, scribbling notes in the margins while she waited. |
Quote:
But he'd seen the way Dora looked at him. He heard what Mo said about talking later. He had no intention of indulging them. So if he got to the Common Room fast enough, he could isolate himself in the Fourth year dorms, undisturbed. How unamused he was, then, that the two people he NOW wanted to avoid, were already inside the room? Aidan tried to keep his head down and rush across the room, towards the dorm staircases. |
Quote:
Closing her book she tucked between the seat cushions and exchanged it for her wand. "Are you going to come over here, or am I going to have to make you?" |
Quote:
Still not looking, he answered, "You're going to have to make me." One, because he DID NOT want to talk. Two, because he was sure he could take her on. And three, because if she inflicted pain, he couldn't hurt any more than he already did. At least it'd be physical pain. |
Mo as an Sage would be interesting if it happened. But more importantly Nigel was sure he had a couple more minutes up in the air. Before he feel back onto the sofa. Still thinking about if he should eating another candy. Nigel nodded when ask if he was a Prefect. "Yeah, I'm a Prefect. Got the Badge to prove it and Mo is the Quidditch Captain." Nigel had never thought about levitating around the common room to watch everyone. That was a very interesting idea indeed. "I might just might do that. Awesome Idea" Now what was her question about food. Nigel was still thinking about levitating and seeing Dora and Aidan enter the Common Room. |

"Levicorpus." She watched as the spell lifted him into the air by his ankles, and gave her wand another flick, bringing him closer to herself. |

Though his face was red, more from embarrassment than as a side effect of being upside down, he tried to remain as calm and cool as he could. He tried crossing his arms to look tough, but then thought it probably just made him look like a stubborn four year old. Which he wasn't. ...At least his shirt was falling up/down and his Quidditch stomach was showing. The fourteen year old ran a hand through his hair as he floated toward Dora and tried to avoid eye contact with anyone else. "Real funny, Dora. Congratulations. Now put me down." |

They really should be planning something epic. This was their OWL term, after all. "No, they don't delivery food up here, but maybe if we went down and asked them really nicely, they'd offer short-term delivery service. Like... Ni here, he's a musician. He could serenade the elves. I'd just back him up on the spoons or something." Mo was NOT a musician. "You should serenade us right now, Ni." Karaoke party or something. Quote:
"You need anything, Isidora Yelena?" |
Quote:
"I'm not being funny, Aidan. I'm being a concerned friend." Not to mention she was kind of enjoying getting to use magic again, this was the first time she'd cast a spell since they'd arrived back. Who knew it'd be so soon. Thanks, Aidan. She dangled him for a moment contemplative, not sure if putting him down was the best idea. Quote:
"I don't know yet," She glanced over at him briefly then looked back up at a dangling Aidan, speaking mostly to him now. "Do I need the assistance of Marcus Orion, or will you behave?" Because she would gladly use it if necessary. |
And a splash of Mo. Quote:
...Er...Aidan sized Mo up, which wasn't the same from this point of view. Not like he needed to, anyway, he knew he couldn't take Mo. "I'll 'behave'," he sighed. Seriously, she was treating him like a bloody child. He didn't WANT to behave and he was a big boy and could make his own decisions. But let him down. |
tiny bit of Mo Quote:
She wasn't chasing after anyone, that could be a job for the Captain. "Now," She spoke in a quieter, more thoughtful tone, eyes focused only on him. "Tell me how it went." |
nigel, mo, and a lil bit o Dora. Kalla smiled slightly at the prefect. She had seen the badge and met him at the feast... Her memory was pretty good, too. It had been a bit of a rhetorical question, really. Heh. Dumb boys were cute. Oh now he wanted to levitate since she suggested it. Grand! "Are you looking... For an interesting view of things," she asked with a smirk as she readjusted herself on the sofa. Oh look he fell. Good job. Oh. There was the Sociopath! Kalla didn't really KNOW her, but she didn't dislike her. She found her a bit interesting even. Giving Dora a smile she waved to her and watched as she hung that boy upside down from his ankle. Hehehe. Approval was thus stamped! And what was Mo on about? "I'm nothing if not honest, Mo. I'll never lie to you or make you distrust me." She was being SERIOUS here. For real. But she lightened up a tad and added, "Besides, what's wrong with sage? It makes turkey taste yummy. Can YOU cook?" Could he? And eyes back to Nigel... He was a musician. Like... Was he one who THOUGHT he was talented or was he ACTUALLY talented? There was a huge difference! "What do you sing?" Like choral, country, rock, pop, jazz, blues... Whatever. She needed information. "You play the spoons? I can play a eukele" Legit. She could. |
So....Yeah. Just let Dora do what she wants for now. Watching Aidan being flipped upside down so pretty humorous. But she did release the spell. Which made Nigel forget about the candy he had just finished. Nigel thumped onto the empty part of the sofa. Levitating is fun while it lasts. It was true and He was a musician. Serenading elves sounded interesting. "Serenading Elves is one of my goals this year" Nigel said jokingly "I'm not a great singer. When i do though it is ska mostly. I do play guitar and bass guitar though" Nigel said shrugging. He never thought himself a great singer. Pretty horribly actually. But whatever. "Now spoons sounds fun to play." |

Aidan settled onto the couch, sitting so he was leaning forward, elbows resting on his knees, hands clasped together. A crease formed in between his eyebrows when he looked up at Dora. "I don't want to talk about it," he mumbled softly. |
Quote:
Leaning forward as well, she patiently waited for him too start talking and explain why his spirits had not been lifted in the slightest. |
When Sophie bounced into the common room, despite her cheery demeanor, she was a girl on a MISSION. A mission to find out ALL THE COOL THINGS to sign-up for and do throughout the year. She had time. Even more time than she'd have in her third year when she could pick up more fun classes, right? So... why NOT join a bunch of stuff now to make it easier to balance those things when coursework picked up? She could handle it right now. She needed things to do when she wasn't in class or studying or going on adventures and joining clubs and stuff would be super useful in meeting all the cool, well-known kids around school, right? A bit disappointed to see so few announcements on the board near the door, Sophie let her pointer finger trace allll the way down the notice about Quidditch tryouts. Tryouts. Hah. Quidditch. Hah. She could probably pull that off. She was small and agile and fast and had pretty good eyesight (she poked at the skin under her eyes as she thought about it) and could probably be a suitable Seeker or something. Or... probably pretty fearlessly smack someone with a bludger. It was just a game, right? No one would be upset with her? She didn't think she could be a good Keeper, probably... she figured she was too small to effectively throw her body in front of a hoop the way Max could... Chaser might not be bad either. Hm. She could give it a shot. She'd need Captain Mo to hook her up with a broom, though. Would he have a super cool, top-notch spare one laying around that she could use if she made the team? That would be a lot of fun. Or maybe she could make some kind of deal with her Head of House. That funny Elwood character. Sophie made a mental note to go get on her good side later. Scanning the rest of the board for other announcements - Gobstones, a book club, anything - she found none, and resigned to giving the board a small nod of recognition. Just class announcements. She could dig that. Classes were important, too. Turning around to survey her surroundings properly, she noticed Mo was there and she could probably go talk to him about Quidditch, but she still wasn't too sure about him. And Aidan was there, but he still looked grumpy. Even more than he had at the opening feast, in fact. So Sophie was just going to... casually make her way to the dormitory. She needed some Droobles before going to track down Elwood. Maybe the blue bubbles would make the woman happy. Blue bubbles for Ravenclaw, yeah? A display of house spirit? Worth a shot. |
Quote:
"Maybe," Aidan said, keeping himself from raising his voice by talking through clenched teeth instead, "It's personal. Maybe I don't want to talk about it. Maybe a lot's happened in the past twenty-four hours and I'm tired and I want to go to bed because I have to wake up early tomorrow and go to classes with them all day." He brought his head down to his hands and rubbed his face. "And things are even worse now," he added. |
Quote:
"I can cook a bit, I guess. I'm not eating turkey, though." Against the rules. "I'm kinda limited to simple recipes and stuff that doesn't involve the stove." Quote:
"You should serenade a girl first, Ni. Or maybe not first, but more importantly. Play the guitar and sing and get yourself a girlfriend already." Because Mo was of the opinion that a young Ravenclaw with a prefect badge was in need of a girlfriend. Mmhmm. "I'd serenade a girl if you would. Heck, I'd serenade you." That was such a terrible idea. Mo legitimately could not sing. Or keep a rhythm. Or really actually hum. |
Quote:
She let him say his piece, watching him with carefully, patiently waiting for him to finish what he was saying, and only when she was sure he was done did she bother speaking again in a equally low tone. "Worse how?" |
Quote:
Face buried in his hands, Aidan took a few calming breaths. Not that they were relaxing, though, as the scene in the luggage compartment replayed through his head, and he heard all over again all the words that were exchanged. "She wouldn't admit to admitting what she told me." That she liked him. "So I reminded her of it...in front of other people..." The thought that he embarrassed her didn't come to mind. Just that he neglected to keep that business as private as he realized now, he probably should have. "AndIcalledherarubbishfriend." And that was it. So their friendship was probably over now. |
