Entering the common room through the same corridor as the kitchens the kitchens, you will find a pile of large barrels stacked in the shadowy stone recess to your right. The second barrel from the bottom, middle of the second row, will open when tapped to the enunciation of 'Helga Hufflepuff'. (*Note: non-Hufflepuffs who tap the wrong barrel, or the incorrect number of times, will result in one of the lids bursting off and dousing the trespasser in vinegar)
Following a sloping, earthy passage inside the barrel, which will then travel upwards slightly, a cozy, round, low-ceilinged room comes into view. Welcome! Your common room is like your sanctuary. During your seven years here, your house will be like your family. The room is decorated in the cheerful house colors of yellow and black, enhanced by the use of highly polished honey-colored wood for the tables and then round doors which lead to the boys' and girls' dormitories.
Directly over the wooden mantelpiece, which is covered with carvings of decorative dancing badgers, is a portrait of Helga Hufflepuff, your house founder and one of the four Hogwarts founders, toasting her students with a tiny, two-handled golden cup. There are small, round windows level with the ground at the foot of the castle, showing a pleasant view of grass and flowers, occasionally people. As a result of the low windows, the room has a year-round sunny feel to it.

Of course Bouncy Girl was loud in the common room. Of course! He wouldn't expect anything less from her, actually. She got GRINS from the boy, and an enthusiastic wave. Her, and Penguin!Kace and Forrest, who all seemed to be talking to each other. Except, that's what was going on everywhere he looked. Everyone just talking to pretty much everyone else. And he would go over and say hey except...
BLINK. Was that...? No... No that wasn't...
... BUT IT WAS!
Alec's eyes widened as he looked over at the boy. He was actually standing there! Saluting at him -- which Alec approved of -- and everything! MAN! "General Kaid!" he called, saluting the boy back, a big grin spread across his face. It was REALLY good to see the younger Puff! "Erm... you okay?" Because the boy knew some things that had happened over the summer. Word got around pretty quickly, it seemed.
Alec really REALLY hoped that Tobias would like the present he got for him. It was easy getting the sweets but the t-shirt was quite a bit trickier than he thought it would be. "Anytime!" And he loved it! All of it! The boy grinned some more before reaching over and ruffling Tobias's hair. "I'm really glad you like it!"
CAKE! THERE. WAS. CAKE. "Did Minnie make the cake?" Because she made GOOD cakes! Like the puppy one she made for him on his birthday.
The Hufflepuff wanted to go over towards the cake and help himself because he was that hungry but before he could, someone was calling his name. And calling him dude. Approval was granted. "Hey Adi!" he said, turning his attention towards the younger Puff instead, "Not much! What's up with you? Enjoying your year so far?" Even if it had just started.
Spotting another Puff not too far away, Alec tilted his head, trying to remember where it was that he had seen that face before. Probably at the feast, right? And if so, had he said hey? Yeah? No? ... No. That was... a shame. He grinned and waved a little enthusiastically over at the boy (Dylan). "Hey, erm... I don't think we've met?" he said, stepping a little closer towards the boy, "I'm Alec. Alec Summers."
Also. Cake wasn't too far away either. Was it really obvious that he really wanted to try Minnie's new masterpiece, if she was the one who had baked the-- Oh?
All thoughts of cake flew out of his mind when he felt a familiar hand slide into his. He turned to look over towards his side... and GRINNED. "Ells!" And she noticed his shirt? He looked down at it and grinned before looking back over at her again. "Thanks! My favourite blonde girl got it for me." Here's hoping that Minnie hadn't heard that.
Speaking of Minnie, LOOK! "Minnie!" And wait, they were celebrating all the September birthdays? All of them? Including his one that had gone by? "Really? That's awesome! Are we... doing this every month, then?" Because if so, could he be the one to try and bake the cake for Minnie's birthday? It was only fair.
As for the question about his term so far, Alec nodded. "Yeah, it's been great! It's really good to be back," And no sightings of Dementors so far. ALWAYS a great sign! "And I guess? I'm really nervous, though. Are you ready for tryouts? And how's your year been so far?" Did he seem really eager? Did he?
Spiffy Lec was an AWESOME nickname. Really REALLY awesome. "Hey Curly Wade!" he called, grinning and waving at the boy while a tingling sensation settled in in his hair. Yeah. Hair ruffle senses. Sharp, those were. "Thanks, mate! I thought the t-shirt would be really appropriate." It was just a pity that it didn't have a picture of a badger on it.
And look! Lottie was here too! He waved and grinned at her, remembering a certain conversation that the two had had not too long after his birthday. He turned his eyes away from her and waved at Brodie, Asher, Laura and Hadley.
... His arm and cheek muscles were going to get tired at the end of all this, what with all the grinning and waving that was going on.

SPOILER!!: Wade
Smiling back at Min, "Oh yeah? It's a shame I missed it." It seemed like Wade missed a lot, not attending Hogwarts until fifth year. "Glad you brought them back, then." And she approved of the radio? "Thanks, Alec suggested I also bring it for our Quidditch practice, well, you know if we all make the team again. And on the train we were partying it up until we were free to get off." He nodded in agreement about the badger buddies, before beaming. "Yes, that sounds good. We're going to be such busy kitties this year."
Minerva smiled she really had wished Wade would have been here longer than just fifth term. She couldn’t even imagine some of the fun they could have gotten into if they would have started first term together. “Yeah, but you’re here now and that is what matters, right?” She was thankful he was one of her closest friends now. Looking around the room she smiled, “Yeah me too. One of my friends wouldn’t be too happy though, no Dr. Pepper here.” She chuckled thinking of Aaron and his crazy liking for that pop. Minerva couldn’t help but laugh, “You know darn well you will be making that team. You are one of our best players.” The puff team had many talented players and Wade was sure one of them. “Yeah that would be awesome to have music during practice, but make sure you clear it with Ella.” No need to get the captain mad at them. Blue eyes looked at him amused by the word kitty. This had really become such an everyday word between the two of them. So maybe not all of last term was horrid a fun little joke between two friends came out of it. “Yes I think we will be busy, but busy isn’t a bad thing.” No she was very welcoming to being busy.
SPOILER!!: Dylan
Ohhh! Minnie! Right. Dylan hadn't been sure if she wanted him to call her Minnie or Minerva, so he had kinda just went with Minerva. Oopsies! "My apologies, Minnie. I'll make sure to call you that from now on." he told her, smiling brightly. The firstie then gave a nod, glancing back at the head boy again and then back to Minnie. "I sure will!" he said. The Puffer then flashed another smile. "I'm sure we can get it to work, if we all pitch in together." he gestured to everyone in the room as he said this.
Oh she didn’t mean her nickname in that way, “No.. no it’s fine if you rather say Minerva. I don’t mind my real name.” Not at all really, she enjoyed that it was more unique even though she did know a slytherin had it as well. “I was just saying that most call me Minnie or mouse, but it’s up to you really.” She smiled and looked around, “Well I always enjoy meeting enthusiastic badgers. That means we are going to have a great term.” The more that wanted this to happen monthly the more she knew it would.
SPOILER!!: Lottie
So, this was all Minerva's doing? Impressive. Very Hufflepuff, too, though unrelated to the first. And since she'd smiled, then Lottie smiled back. She wasn't entirely sure why, but who cared? "Thanks!" She wasn't super hungry, but she could eat, and she was planning to do so. It was ALL for Tobias, yeah?
And the rest of September birthdays.
Minerva smiled at Lottie. “It really was nothing. I enjoy planning and getting people together so it was an idea as I was making Toby’s birthday cake. I hope to do it monthly with everyone else as well. When is your birthday and I’ll put it to memory.” because she was a badger and Min was trying to remember for the monthly birthdays.
SPOILER!!: Laura
Laura looked at Minnie and out of the corner of her eye, she saw Ella was also looking at her, okay so she would have to drop the book right, but Ella could wait a bit before getting her present. "Okay I'll join it." Laura smiled as she put the book away and then got up. "I'll warn you though, I only know a few people here." Yeah Laura hadn't really been in the loop much lately.
__________________
Minerva beamed when Laura decided to join. “Good.. good. You are a sixth year ya know. Time to start showing those awesome leader skills Laura and getting to know the younger badgers. I need to know someone is taking care of my littles when I’m gone.” She winked and joked with her friend. It was Hadley and Laura that really started the little thing for Min clear back in her second term. Looking at Laura and looking at the rest of the group she moved her hands in gesturing everyone, “Perfect time to get to know them. Mingle and talk to people. Ask names and have a little fun. “ Couldn’t just sit alone for two terms now could she. Min still worried about her friend. She made it a point to really keep tabs on her this term.
SPOILER!!: Forrest
Minerva distracted him though, and he smiled shyly at the girl. He tried to remind himself her new badge changed nothing, but he had been sliiiightly on the shy side ever since he learnt she'd got it.
And the Quidditch talk too. He fidgeted somewhat uncomfortably. Just how disappointed would she be upon seeing he was horrible?
So he avoided the topic, and kept smiling shyly and pleasantly.
She had? She sure had. Forrest was going to have a party too! His face brightened, and he said "Thanks!" He would be honoured to have a party thrown to his name by her. He was so so lucky.
Minerva smiled at Forrest he was adorable and she so enjoyed their friendship. She noticed his nervous fidget and chuckled, “Forrest you will do wonderful I just know and if you find you don’t like it then oh well.. You tried and that is something to be proud of.” She knew what it was like to learn all these new things. “You know you remind me a lot of myself when I first started out. I thought I would be horrible at everything since I never knew about magic, but I know you will do great because you are such a hard worker.” She had seen him last term in class even if she was a bit crazy then. She chuckled with his face when she said about his birthday, “A promise is a promise Forrest, plus I would love to arrange a party for yours!”
SPOILER!!: Toby
Minerva took cake really seriously. That was what Tobias liked to see. "Oh I'll be honest about it, don't worry." If course he would be. Tobias was super honest. AND nice too. Hufflepuff, remember?
He grinned a bit at the thing about pogo trouble, but shook his head. He was mainly grinning about his encounter with Airey. The patronus. The flying. It was still the most fun he'd had in a while. "Nah. I don't get in trouble, Min. I told you."
Not any more at least. Not since coming to Hogwarts.
Good.. good she was glad he would be honest. She liked honesty, she was always honest even though some people didn’t like when she told them the real truth, but hey that wasn’t her problem. It was the truth wasn’t it. “Good because if I need to improve I will. I never like to fail.” at anything that was one thing that really pushed her all these years at school. She did not fail easily. Shaking her head, she hoped he wouldn’t get into trouble. “and I said I would never get detention. Never say never Toby.” even if the detention in her eyes was still uncalled for she still had to serve it which meant Minerva had detention.
SPOILER!!: Kace
Kace smiled to Minnie and turned his head and noticed the food. "Oh i will be right back." he motioned toward the table, got some food, pumpkin juice and then came back and talked with Minnie. Then Minnie talked about her last year of trying out, Kace frowned and didn't wanna think about it.
"That's crazy! I can't believe this is your last year. I am gonna miss you." Kace said earnestly. He took a bite of his food and a swig of pumpkin juice before answering. "Aaah you do not have to celebrate mine, i mean mine isn't that special anyways." he shrugged like it was no biggie. People are more focused on Christmas than his birthday anyways.
Minerva watched as Kace when to get food. She was so excited everyone was enjoying themselves and the food. This was a great feeling. All her upset emotions had vanished and she was just enjoying the moment. Once Kace was back she shook her head, ”No.. we aren’t going down that road yet. We have all of term to deal with. No I miss you. I haven’t left and I’m not leaving for awhile.” She was just having fun, no need for thoughts of leaving. “Let’s just worry about tryouts and having fun, alright?” because that’s where her mind was for now on, well and classes. She gave him a smile, “No way. Birthday are to be celebrated and we are celebrating yours.” She wasn’t leaving any of her badgers out. No one was left without a celebration this term. Maybe they could keep it going next term, but that wasn’t up to her so she would at least get this term going.
SPOILER!!: Bristol we love her already…
First she listened. How polite of her. Next she let her words FLOW. "It's lovely to meet you, Minnie, I'm Bristol. First Year." There, introductions done. "This is a birthday party? For who?" She had to know so she could go and make friends say happy birthday and apologise for 'gate crashing,' though the party was in the common room, so she had been bound to crash it at some point. "Term is going very, very, very, VERY well, thank you. What about yours?" GRIN, she exaggerated not.
What a cute ickle. She was so polite too. “Bristol I love your name.” Reminded her of home actually, Bristol Tennessee. [/b] “Well it’s actually a celebration for all September birthdays. It’s something I thought of last minute and with the help of everyone that is a puff now we can celebrate each and every badgers birthday every month.”[/b] Yes the idea was sounding more fun the more she said it. “Plus Wade and I felt it could be a great way for younger badgers to meet everyone.” Two birds with one stuff type of stuff. “So make sure you get food and try some cake, plus anyone you want to meet just start talking. The puff group are a great group of people.” She loved her house and how close they always seemed to be. How was her term going.. That was an interesting question since some things didn’t go well, but she wouldn’t tell a first year that. “Term is going great. I’m glad classes have started again and quiddtich will be here soon.” Nothing like quidditch matches, and Ethan getting to be there to put a smile on your face.
SPOILER!!: Adi
Adi thought Min was the greatest! So helpful and friendly unlike the grouch over there. He grinned now. "I'm so glad to be in Hufflepuff! I never thought I'd fit so much in, really.'' In his opinion, he had never found so many persons like himself. "And thank you!'' He couldn't wait to see which they would get him. "Oh yes. So far so good. I haven't gotten lost or turned up late for classes or anything.'' That reminded him. "Um, if I need help with homework or need to practice spells, will you please help me?'' Adi really wanted to learn as much as possible, both for himself and his mom.
Min couldn’t help but beam at Adi, “We are super glad you are here as well. The hat always knows the best place for everyone.” and it seemed all the best people got into puff. Well okay there were a few awesome people in other houses as well, but she woudn’t change her house for anything. “Oh you don’t have to thank me. I’m not doing anything I don’t love to do.” Helping and planning two of her favorite things. She always liked to hear that puffs were getting along well, “That’s great. I got so lost my first few weeks and I was late for class. Learned the hard why what happened when you were late.” She felt bad when she lost points her first year and was embarrassed everyone looking at you as you walked into the door. Nodding she got excited with his request, “Of course I would love to help you. Just ask.. I’m usually at the library or at our study tables. So don’t ever hesitate to find me.” She would always help her little badgers.
SPOILER!!: Alec
Did he?
Minerva beamed at Alec he seemed super excited. That’s what they needed super excited and super social badgers. Way to be Alec.. Way to be. “Oh I really want to be able to do this every month. I think it’s a great way to celebrate birthdays and get the puffs together for a big group function every month. Once the homework piles in we need something relaxing and fun.” So why not and everyone loved cake and food, so bonus there as well. She was so happy he was having a good term. It made her happy to see excitement. “Good I’m glad you are.” Her look went to amusement, Alec Summers nervous for tryouts. “Why on earth are you nervous to tryouts You are amazing and will obviously be on the team.” Him and Wade were just silly thinking differently. “As ready as I’ll ever be. I’m just excited to get back playing again.” plus hanging out with awesome friends. You just couldn’t beat that. “Oh everything has been peachy so far.” best way to describe the term. Peachy not fantastic but not horrible she guessed.
Little Fox | ½ of Lauralie | Ravenclaw...?? *overthinks* | #HouseNATARINA
Something bugged Bristol and that something was the fact that she hadn't yet met people who she'd be sharing a dorm room with. Where there any other first year Hufflepuffs that were girls besides her? Please. Not that Adi and the boys weren't cool, but .. "Cool!" She enthused with a nod, nod. "Yep. My whole family, I'm pureblood and we've ALL been to Hogwarts. Right now it's me and my twin, Dee." Along with assorted cousins and stuff.
Ohhh. That's what she'd forgotten - her name. Thanks for reminding her, Dylan. "The name's Bristol, but you can call me ... Bristol." Nope, she clearly didn't have any cool nicknames yet. Except perhaps Brist or Tol. Nahhh, not even those. "Really? That is SO COOL," she enthused and grinned. Hufflepuff was the best for sure. Did any of the other houses do this sort of thing? She doubted it.
"When is your birthday?" Then she could keep a record for future.
And now look who she could see! It was the one and only Tall Boy. "HEEEEY!" She called over and ran to him. Was he prepared? He'd better be, because into his arms she leapt. That appeared to be their greeting now - not that this badger buddy had any complaints and that, at all.
Someone loved her name? "THANK YOU." She grinned and listened to Minnie's long explanation of what was going on here. It all made sense now and she was truly amazed. "That's very, very smart of you. Who's birthday is it this month? When's your birthday? Mine's in April and I can't WAIT," she all of this is two short breaths and she was left grinning and slightly pink. All worth it. "Was I supposed to bring a present?" She added after a few seconds. If she was, she'd leave now. No one would notice she was gone. Expect maybe her best friend.
What another great idea. "I've met SO many parent already, even before I arrived at Hogwarts." She'd also met a few of them hear, so obviously that worked, too. "I don't know Wade, though," she remember and frowned, as if this was that important. It seemed like it might be to her - after all, he was partial creator of this strange and lovely get together. "I SHALL." Obviously she was talking about the food and the cake, but she'd make sure to meet more peoples, too ... afterwards. Cake for more important for now.
Tobias gave a little chuckle and then a firm SALUTE to Kace. Boy. Tryouts. BOY. So exciting, but also nerve-wracking. So, y'know, he'd been prepaaaaaaaring.
Was that another little puffing out of the chest at Lottie's words? Probably. She was only saying welcome to being a teenager, but it still felt GOOD TO HEAR. And NEXT year he'd be FOURTEEN and THAT sounded even COOLER. "Thanks!"
She was NICE.
Yes good.
FRIEND.
"Chocolate cake, coming right up!" Tobias said brightly, before turning BACK to the table again and squidging past a few people to get hold of some delicious CAKE. "S'cuse me, comin' through... lady with a baby..." That usually got people to move, right?
Eventually Tobias had two plates with a piece of cake. One chocolate and one sponge. He LIKED chocolate cake, but sponge was his favourite 'cause of the filling.
"Heeeeeere you go, Lottie," he said, holding out the piece of cake to the older girl.
Tobias gave Adi a smile. He really didn't need to get him anything but he'd found that it was an argument that he never won. Sometimes people liked giving presents. Usually Hufflepuffs, from what Tobias had seen. "And I'll get you a present on your birthday, too!" he replied. It was only fair, right?
Toby had started to eat his cake when Adi asked his next question, and he had to take a moment because he didn't want to talk with his mouthful. Ew. So he finished his mouthful of cake and THEN replied. Manners. "I'm in my second year." Though it probably wasn't that obvious. He was shorter than probably all of the second years and even quite a few of the first years, including this one. But he hadn't been Sorted this year, which was a massive giveaway. "And you're a first year, right?" Or a transfer student. "Saw you getting Sorted."
SEE? Logic.
...
"I'm really glad I like it too!" Tobias said to Alec, a huge grin on his face. He KNEW the hair ruffle was coming and even sort of readied his cranium for it. Alec's hair ruffles were just something he was USED to now, like how one person might flip their hair or another might wipe their lips after they speak. It was just a thing that he did and no longer seemed weird.
But Tobias was totally ready to surprise-hair-ruffle Alec one day. He'd have to climb something first, but still.
He was just planning on when he might wear his new BOOM t-shirt, and had settled on the very next time he didn't have to wear his uniform, when Alec mentioned cake.
"She did! And it's really good too."
Speaking of... he had to tell her.
Tobias was feeling slightly lost as to who stood in what direction now, but his eyes quickly found Minerva again. He'd caught what she said earlier, but there had been loads of people all around so he'd decided to kind of refocus later. And later was here.
AND he had cake.
"The cake's awesome, Minnie!" he said, even as he ate MORE of it, a bit with a lot of the jam and buttercream filling. "My favourite part is the middle." But the filling and icing were ALWAYS his favourite parts of a cake, so maybe he wasn't the best person to ask.
STILL. It was good cake. They needed more parties so they could have more cake.

Was Min really worried that Ella might be cross about this? That was silly, yeah? “I only wish I could have helped more. It must have been a lot of work.” And as much as Minnie probably wanted to keep busy because of Ethan reasons, she shouldn’t have to do everything alone. As for the cookie lessons, Ella smiled slowly. “I’d like that. I’m okay at baking but cooking actually dinner-type stuff hasn’t happened yet.” …Unless boxed Mac and Cheese counted. Which it probably didn’t, right?
Dylan was a cute kid, Ella had decided. He was polite and friendly and the older badger was charmed. ”I’m a sixth year,” She said as she tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. ”And you’re a first year, right Dylan?” She was pretty positive about that. ”How’re you liking Hufflepuff so far?” And Hogwarts in general, really.
Catching Forrest’s gaze, the blonde wiggled a finger at the younger badger in greeting. “Nice party, yeah?” And it was good to see him, obviously. Ella had become quite fond of the little guy who wasn’t so little anymore.
The blonde giggled as Toby started to laugh, not able to contain herself anymore. Laughing was contagious, y’know. “Enjoy, Tobias!” And she really did hope he was enjoying himself. Though how could he not with all the gummy worms he’d just received?
“I’m excited to see everyone fly,” Ella corrected, smiling at Kace. It had been a while and it was always nice to see how people’s flying skills had improved, especially with the younger students. Eyebrows raised slightly at the wink, the blonde simply grinned and winked back. ”That’s what I like to hear.” And the bit about soccer and Quidditch. ”Not sure how that’d go but I’ll think about it.”
Oh, someone was saying hello! The seventeen year old scanned the crowd and found an Adi waving at her. She smiled in that direction and returned the gesture, replying, “Hey Adi! How are you?”
It was nice, the way Alec grinned every time that he saw her. It made Ella feel really great and her smile widened when he greeted her. “Hey, Hair Whipper.” And he didn’t mind the hand holding, right? She sort of wanted to tackle!hug him instead but too many people around. Le sigh. The seventeen year old turned a bit pink at his comment and tilted her head, eyeing his shirt thoughtfully. “She must have good taste, this blonde girl you like so much.” And he was her favorite too, in case he didn’t know. ”This is nice, isn’t it?” The party, that is. The seeing him was nice too, though.
And cake, she wanted some of that. The blonde gave her boyfriend’s hand a squeeze before letting go and heading for it. He could come too.
Uncle Carl had been right. Hufflepuffs had the best parties.
Fern had been watching the party for a long time; with the round door leading to the girl's dormitories open just a crack, she had seen everything from Minnie setting up the signs and cakes, to their head of house arriving, to everyone giving Toby presents and chatting happily among themselves. Anytime one of the other girls had appeared in the hallway, heading out to join the celebration, Fern had scuttled back into the first year's room until they were gone. Thus she had managed to go undetected (or she thought she had, at least).
It wasn't that she didn't want to attend the party and wish Toby and the others born in September happy birthday. Because she did. It was that Tallulah wasn't there with her and going to an awesome party without her cousin felt wrong.
Finally opening the door all the way, Fern took a tentative step into the common room. Maybe if she was quiet enough, no one would notice her, and she could slip out and go down to the dungeons. She was worried about Tallulah; she was worried that evil Cuthbert boy was being mean to her cousin. And she meant to give him a good talking to.
"I didn't know you played football!" he exclaimed. Half of the common room probably heard him, but he was barely aware of it. "That's so cool! HEY, we should play it sometime together!" YESYESYES! HEHE.
Wizards. They were interested in muggle things far more than they dared to admit.
His eye caught a boy he'd never met before (Adi) grinning at him. Forrest grinned and waved back, but before he could introduce himself, he was distracted by his idol Alec.
He was grinning at him ASDHAJDS!
What was he supposed to do? Grin back? Wave? Ask how he was? ARGH, this was so hard! Forrest fidgeted, and before he went and embarrassed himself, Minerva saved him.
PHEW.
...
You know, she was talking so sweetly Forrest almost believed her that he might not be horrible after all. It felt so nice to ear too. Nobody wanted to be horrible, after all. For a few seconds, he really thought he could do Quidditch, but who was he kidding?
"I hope I am alright but I really don't think so..." He shrugged casually. It was alright! Not everyone had to play Quidditch. He was fine cheering for them.
"When's your birthday?" Pay-back time? And in a good way. Hehe.
Ella! "Yes." He grinned. It was indeed good party, thanks to Minerva for preparing it and everyone for showing up. He couldn't talk more to her, though. Best friend was asking questions too.
Or, more correctly, hugging.
He hugged her back. He didn't mind hugs at all! "Enjoyin' the party." He grinned. "You?" He heard Tobias' way of carrying a piece of cake to some older girl, and he giggled.
...
Cake! Was it cake time? SWEET!
"Which cake do you want?" He was going to bring his bestie one. Manners and friends.
Brodie turned and smiled seeing Alec. He went over to the new friend, "Hey." Well, as many new people he was meeting he was happy to see someone he kinda knew. He looked over at the cake, he hadn't had cake in quite a while, he hadn't had sugar in quite a while actually... Maybe it wasn't a smart idea but it did look good... He mentally shrugged, maybe later.

"Hello!'' Adi said with a grin to the next Puffer (Brodie) that spoke to him. He was getting along just fine, meeting loads of new people and stuff. Adi liked this very much. "I'm Aditya but you can call me Adi.'' The firstie held out a hand. "What year are you in?'' He guessed sixth or seventh.''
"I'm just hungry,'' Adi stated to Alec as he eyed the cake. He was always hungry! "I wish we could have a cake eating contest or something. I bet I could beat you, duuuude!'' He grinned. He wasn't boasting or anything, just trying to have some fun by teasing his new friend. "Oh yes! I am! And you know, I haven't gotten lost. Not as yet, anyway.'' He was proud of that. Hogwarts was huge, after all.
All these Badgers were so cool! Especially Min! If he ever needed help, she'd be the first person he'd go to. Adi got very curious now. "What happened?'' He meant when she turned up late for classes. "Did you ever get detention for it?'' Detention was something he was going to avoid for his seven years. Awesome! Adi knew he was going to need help with homework sooner or later. He was tempted to give Min a hug but didn't know if she would approve.
"Oh that's so cool!'' Adi said to Bristol. "So you must know quite a bit of magical stuff already!'' Unlike him. He knew only a few stuff. Not because of his mom or anything but because he had been too lazy to learn much. Oh well. He'd learn it all at Hogwarts. "A twin? Really? What's his name? Or hers?'' Maybe he'd met the person?
Adi grinned at Tobias. "I guess so,'' he told the second year. It wasn't necessary, of course. Back to the Pogo stick. "Was the Pogo stick an early birthday present?''
"I'm great, Ella! What about you?'' he asked the Quidditch captain. "I suppose you're busy with tryouts and all?'' He couldn't wait to see who made it to the team!
Adi headed over to the kid he had never spoken to (Forrest). "Hello, hello!'' he greeted. "How are ya? I'm Aditya but call me Adi.''
Oh! Another firstie (Fern) joined them! He remembered her from the Sorting. "Hallo! I'm Aditya but call me Adi.''
[COLOR="DarkGreen"
Not this next person to approach her, though. They didn't look all that much older than her, either. "Hellooooo, Kace. That's a great name," she enthused, grinning, before introducing herself. "My name's Bristol and I'm a fiiiiiiirst year." Just in case he wanted to know that. She was about to say something else to the boy, but she was quickly greeted by someone else. [/COLOR]
Kace beamed at Bristol. "Why i am glad you think so." he bowed to her playfully. Oh Bristol. Now that was a pretty name. "Well i gotta say Bristol is an interesting beautiful name." he said to her. She seemed to excited to be here but then again she was a first year like she said. "How are you liking Hufflepuff house so far?" he asked the little firstie.

It might not be believable but this first year ate a lot. He was a huge fan of scones with loads of jam. Oh tips! Awesome! "Are you speaking from experience, Kace?'' he asked curiously. He nodded at the mention about the Willow. "Do you know anyone that ever um provoked it?'' It would be bad if anyone got injured but it would be cool to see the tree in action. Kace loved Muggle Studies too? Way cool! "Who teaches it?'' Adi asked.
Kace chuckled at Adi. He knew they were going to get a long very well. "There is nothing like a good home cooked meal that is for sure but sometimes the house elves can give you a running for their money. I can tell you that." he told Adi. He had to give the elves some credit at least.
Adi asked if he spoke from experience. He grinned and laughed. "Yes i am." he nodded. "I love to explore the castle i mean you never know what you are gonna find around here." he told the firstie honestly. Kace shook his head, "I do not know anyone who provoked it yet." he mentioned. Yet was always the key word, "But don't worry i don't plan to and i will make sure that won't happen." he would keep that promise.
Then he asked who taught it. "To be honest Adi, i do not know. I kind of forget her name but i will tell you she is an awesome teacher. That is all you have to know. Also i will be happy to give you a tour of the castle sometime." he smiled.

Kace held out his hands. "Alright let's not go down that road, we will get to it when the time comes." he grinned. "Plus this party is kind of fun, you know what we should do is like...have a pajama party again like last term." he smiled with bright eyes to the Prefect. Then she mentioned tryouts. "Oh right yeah i am kind of nervous about them but i know i have some experience." he shrugged. "I promise we will have fun, let's go on more adventures soon ok?" he asked his friend.
Aww Kace felt special that Minnie was gonna celebrate his birthday. That was a long way off from now. But when the time comes he will be ready to have his party.

"Oh right you gotta do everyone at the tryouts i gotcha." he winked playfully at Ella. "Oh you should totally think about it, or maybe i can bring my soccer ball one day after practice and everyone can learn how to play." he asked the captain with bright eyes. The rules were quite simple really and plus getting to learn a muggle sport wouldn't be a bad idea right?

Wizards. They were interested in muggle things far more than they dared to admit.
"Oh i thought i told you!" he told Forrest. Huh...guess he didn't. Ah well! Now that is cool to have something in common. "Oh of course dude! We can play anytime you want!" he told his fellow puff. "Just name a time and place." he smiled because he could tell by his excitement.
Then Kace spotted Alec and realized he didn't talk to him yet, "Hey Alec! You ready for the Quidditch season??" he asked his fellow seeker friend.

SPOILER!!: Bristol
Minerva looked around, that was a good question. She knew a few, but what if there are others she didn’t know about. “Hey everyone if you have a birthday in September raise your hand.” That would be the best way to know at least. “I do know Toby, Ella, and Alec all have birthdays this month.” She looked back at Bristol all hers was April, well she would remember that. “We will have one in April don’t worry.” she winked at the first year. Shaking her head she laughed a bit, “No.. no you didn’t have to bring anything. Just yourself and to have fun.” That’s all she wanted was for everyone to have fun. “I’m glad you met so many people already. That’s wonderful.” She liked hearing that the badgers were so social. She didn’t know Kitty how on earth did she not know Kitty yet, well they would change this. “Wade is Head Boy he is..” she looked around, “Oh he’s right there.” She pointed over to the table near the pickles.
SPOILER!!: Toby
Minerva smiled as Toby came back over to her. “That’s great to know. Maybe I’ll have to make it another time for you not just for your birthday.” She would be up for that. She loved to cook and bake. So it wouldn’t be hard at all. It was interesting doing the jam in the cake, but whatever he liked. She might have to try a piece herself, but maybe after the chocolate, because nothing was better than chocolate.
SPOILER!!: Ella
Was Min really worried that Ella might be cross about this? That was silly, yeah? “I only wish I could have helped more. It must have been a lot of work.” And as much as Minnie probably wanted to keep busy because of Ethan reasons, she shouldn’t have to do everything alone. As for the cookie lessons, Ella smiled slowly. “I’d like that. I’m okay at baking but cooking actually dinner-type stuff hasn’t happened yet.” …Unless boxed Mac and Cheese counted. Which it probably didn’t, right?
She waved her friend off, “It was easy really. Plus it helped a lot actually.” She was feeling so much better right now, maybe she would have to do things to make others happy more often it seemed to really help her mood. “I was so focused on this that the day actually went pretty quick. That hasn’t been the case lately.” She was glad when she talked about cooking getting off that subject, “Cooking is fun and pretty easy as long as you can read directions. I have a ton of cook books in my trunk if you ever want one just grab it, but I’d love to show you some things. I really enjoy cooking, maybe we can cook for the team together this term.” She did that last year and it was a flop, maybe this term would be better.
SPOILER!!: Fern.. WE HAVE A FERN

Minerva looked up just in time to see Fern sneaking away.. O_o Way on earth was she trying to leave. “Fern.. Fern come over here.” Minerva went to the girl and put her into a hug. “Hey I didn’t get to talk to you at the feast. I was so excited to see you get sorted into Hufflepuff. Welcome.. welcome. Are you excited to be in this house, I hope you are.” Minerva was just way to happy and excited about everything at the moment. “Still have your nail polish?” She leaned down to the girl, “If you aren’t allergic to the make up now and since your parents aren’t at school if you want to try some that I bought that day just ask. I owe you for all your help.” She gave the girl a smile. “So are you adjusting well? Everyone being nice?” She really liked Fern this summer, plus it was her job to make sure first years were doing alright.
SPOILER!!: Forrest
You know, she was talking so sweetly Forrest almost believed her that he might not be horrible after all. It felt so nice to ear too. Nobody wanted to be horrible, after all. For a few seconds, he really thought he could do Quidditch, but who was he kidding?
"I hope I am alright but I really don't think so..." He shrugged casually. It was alright! Not everyone had to play Quidditch. He was fine cheering for them.
"When's your birthday?" Pay-back time? And in a good way. Hehe.
Minerva frowned a bit, why was Forrest so against his own abilities. OH now this really was familiar. Maybe this is why they got along so well. Ethan was ringing in her ears that she needed more confidence and she was better than she let herself believe. Now watching Forrest she understood what he meant. Feeling like someone was better than they were letting themselves believe. It was sad really, so she was sad, nice. “Well we can go out and practice if you want. Always good to have practice.” She fidgeted a bit, “Oh mine isn’t really important.” No everyone knew she never really celebrated it. Since her parents had passed she stopped really getting excited for her own party.
SPOILER!!: Adi
All these Badgers were so cool! Especially Min! If he ever needed help, she'd be the first person he'd go to. Adi got very curious now. "What happened?'' He meant when she turned up late for classes. "Did you ever get detention for it?'' Detention was something he was going to avoid for his seven years. Awesome! Adi knew he was going to need help with homework sooner or later. He was tempted to give Min a hug but didn't know if she would approve.
Minerva shrugged, Late I got points taken off. I hated getting points taken. I feel bad when our house loses them.” She had always taken points seriously and expected her badgers to do as well, but her face fell at his next question. How on earth was she suppose to answer that. She couldn’t lie, but she didn’t want to scare the poor boy at all. “Well there was a problem last term with some ice cream and well… I ended up in detention on Valentines Day.” It was a horrible memory, one she had tried to avoid. “It was horrible and I never want one again.” She wouldn’t go into detail no, but it was horrible.
SPOILER!!: Kace
Minerva smiled glad he didn’t want to talk about being her last term anymore. No way was she ready to talk about that. “Good let’ just have fun.” Minerva chuckled knowing things, “Oh well keep that onesie handy you never know when you are going to need to bust it out and have some fun.” Last terms Pj party was a bit of a bust with dementors and sad and things. She hoped if they had one this term it would be more exciting and fun. Well she knew it was going to be.

"Likewise," Dylan was pretty nice, so that was cool. Wade chuckled a little at his excitement as he took a good look around, "It sure is huge, I'm actually still finding newer places in this school." Oh, what was it like as Head Boy. "It's not bad actually, with the badge and all. It gets busy sometimes with checking everything out along with the school work.. But I still make time for fun." Beaming, who ever said there was no time for play during work, was sorely mistaken in Wade's eyes.
Wade suddenly heard a compliment, about his badge. Looking around, he finally found Forest. "Oh hey there, and thanks Forest." He beamed back, "So how was your summer?"
Wade merely blinked back as Tobias stared at him. Was something wrong with- Ohh... he saw now. Yes, Wade could see him slightly fidget. Maybe trying not to wiggle. He beamed back, "No problem, Tobi." He could only imagine the golden glittery showers raining over the Quidditch spectators and commentators.
Chuckling with Kace, "It suure is sticking. You're free to call me Kitty too if you want." Why not, since Min did already. Heh. Remember when Wade said he forgets about the badge, well, he sort of did again, until it was pointed out, making him look back at it. Then laughing a little too loudly about writing Kace up for it, "That's a good one Kace," He then gave his hair a little *RUFFLE**RUFFLE* for that. Shrugging about the reason "Guess after a while it just sort of blended in," If that made any sense. "Well that's good, I have a feeling the year's going to be even more awesome." It had to be, after last term, there shouldn't be anything worse. Heh.
"Yeah? That's awesome," It had been a while since he spoke with Belle, she was cool and very welcoming when he first started here. Ohh, Quidditch season. "You know it, been practicing beforehand. How about you?"
Wade's brows very slightly rose at the grand hello from Bristol. Still beaming though, "Hello here." Holding his hand out, "I'm Wade," He let his badge speak his title. "You'll have to forgive my late welcoming you to Hufflepuff. So how are you liking Hogwarts?" She seemed pretty nice so far to him.
Wade beamed back at Adi, "It's been good, little school work here and there, but good!" and how was he? "That's awesome, haven't been late to any of your classes so far right?" Just making sure, since he remembered that being one of his main concerns.
Wade still beaming laughed a little with Alec, the slight tingling going on with their hairs seemed to spread extra joy,"Yeah, the t-shirt was awesome! It's hard to believe Tobi's joined our teenage gang." Well, even though him and Alec were of age, seventeen still was a teenager. "We still on for the blanket fort in your room, right?" That reminded me, he had to go see Kaiden and Nash to let them know.
Wade nodded as Min said the exact truth, "That's right," It was still amusing on how they became such good friends last year. He laughed a little when she mentioned the lack of Dr. Pepper, "Oh yeah? Is it like with my love of pickles?" That would be a curious thing to match. Wade merely shrugged, "Well, we'll have to see.. You did awesome though scoring as a Chaser, do you see yourself playing that position again?" It would be interesting seeing how the tryouts and games played out for them. Especially with their new found prefecting duties, "Very true.. we made it through OWLs year and.. bigger stuff. Being a little busy won't be so bad."
Oh.. yeah the music with Captain Ella, "Oh, good point." Which reminded him. Where was she? His head turned searching for the Captain of Elephants and the flying kitties badgers. Aha. "Ella!" Wade waved her over, hopefully she would see him. Heh.
Afterward, Wade looked around checking everything was going good. He recognized Brodie, who wasn't secluded anymore. Cool. Still though, they were in the same year, yeah? Since they shared dorm rooms and all. So he went up to him, "Hey.. your name's Brodie, right?" It never hurt to make sure. "I'm Wade, we share the dorm room with Nash. How are you?"
Then there was another first year. Wade's brows furrowed as he tried to remember her name.. It started with an F.. Fur.. Furb.. Ferb..Ferm.. no. Fern! Yeah. He walked up to her smiling kindly, "Hi there.. I'm Wade. What's yours?" Just to be a hundred and two times three percent sure on her name. Now holding his hand out for her. "How are you?"
Brodie nodded to Adi, "Nice to meet you, Adi. I'm a seventh year." Looking at the young boy he figured he'd take a lucky guess, "First year?" He seemed to be talking to a lot of them lately, and it was quick clear that he was older than Adi.
Oh and someone else came up to talk, Wade... if he was remembering correctly. He nodded to his question, oh, and he ended up answering him before he could ask to make sure. He'd gotten it right... Oh no though, that name... Nash? As in the Nash that Taylor had a crush on and Brodie had no interest in meeting? The same Nash? Great, so this year would be the one he'd be learning what it felt like to sleep on the couches of the common room. "I'm doing alright... Yourself?" He looked at his fellow seventh year.
And look! Lottie was here too! He waved and grinned at her, remembering a certain conversation that the two had had not too long after his birthday. He turned his eyes away from her and waved at Brodie, Asher, Laura and Hadley.
Alec B. Summers got a wide smile and a small wave in return. How could he not? Favorite yellow person after Tobias, he was. And he was smiling, everything was definitely fine, then? Good to know. They couldn't have a sad Alec around. Nope, never.

Yeah, no kidding. The Hufflepuff prefect clearly enjoyed doing so. Lottie did, but only with certain people, unfortunately Minerva wasn't in that list. It was a very short list, see? But the Hogwartian still nodded, "It was very nice of you. And I like Tobias, so...," that was the whole reason she'd stayed here, honestly. Mmhmm... now, where was her chocolate cake?
Lottie's birthday? 'Monthly with... everyone else'? Yes, no. We're not everyone else. And we don't do birthdays with everyone else. "It's okay, don't worry about it," she could lie and be nice about this, but she just smiled.
See, the problem was saying 'everyone else'.

Yes good.
Lady with a baby, what? LOL. Funny, though.
Awwww, perfect boy is PERFECT. He brought the cake on a plate! She was fearing he'd bring it on his hand and she'd have to refuse EXTRA kindly, but that didn't happen, so everything was perfect. PER-FECT.
Hey, yo! How was she gonna eat this? Like a cupcake, apparently, because the boy may have brought the plate, but forgot the rest. No napkins, even. No matter. "Thanks, Tobias," she said, taking the plate and ruffling his hair again. How adorable.
"I owe you a gift, by the way." Just so he knows, yeah?
Oh! Another firstie (Fern) joined them! He remembered her from the Sorting. "Hallo! I'm Aditya but call me Adi.''
Fern had hardly made it half way across the room when someone came over and greeted her. She only looked at him for a second, and really even then she wasn't truly looking at him, before her eyes darted to the exit, and she took a tiny step backwards. "Hi. I'm Fern. I got to g-,"

Minnie!?
Fern turned away from the boy towards the sound of the older girl's voice, just in time to be pulled into an embrace. All this time she had believed teenagers didn't hug, and now she was being hugged, and she was too surprised to hug back. Instead she just squeaked.
This was her first time talking to the seventh year since Diagon Alley; even though Minnie and some other person had lead them to the common room after the feast, Fern hadn't been in any state to talk with anyone then. It was all she could do to make it down a floor, through the barrels, and into her dormitory. She hadn't even bothered to put on her unicorn jammies or climb under the covers, optioning instead to lay awake for hours in full uniform.
Fern decided not to tell Minnie any of this, or her real feelings regarding the sorting, and skipped the blonde girl's first question. What she really wanted to do was skip all of the questions completely and go find Tallulah, but having watched Minnie set up the whole party, Fern wasn't going to just ditch now that she'd been spotted. That would be rude.
So she moved onto the second question. "Yes I do! And look-," she held up both hands, palms down, to display her bright yellow nails, "They're Hufflepuff colors! My toenails match too!"
...
Fern's mouth dropped in horror. She was hoping Minnie had forgotten the allergy lie. What was she going to say!?

Luckily, Fern didn't have to have to say anything - about the makeup or the two mean boys from the boat - because suddenly she was being addressed by a...
Fern's face turned bright red. If her mouth hadn't already been open, it would have dropped. She didn't bother to close it, because she had forgotten all about it.
She had pretty much forgotten about everything.
Dumbly, she stared at the teenage boy's face, not even noticing his hand.
"No problem!" Cake. CAKE CAKE CAKE. Tobias grinned at Lottie before glancing around at the room, juuuust thinking, and eating cake, when Lottie said something that made him look around.
MORE presents? It seemed pointless to argue, PLUS if YOU like presents and someone likes GIVING you presents, then where is the problem? SORTED.
The Hufflepuff looked thoughtful for a moment, and then nodded his head. YEP. Okay. "Okay, BUT I get you a present for your birthday, okay?" PLEASE? It was fair. He'd find out her birthday soooooon.
BECAUSE, at that moment, Tobias caught a glance of his broomstick out of the corner of his still stood propped up against the wall in the common room. He didn't believe for a second that anyone would take it but, y'know, it was busy in here and Tobias didn't want it damaged before it had to be. Just the thought of scratching the handle was a thought he couldn't bare. He tried not to think about the fact that if he got onto the Quidditch team he'd have to be on it with BLUDGERS flying around.
"I'd better go put my stuff out of the way-" and protect the broom "- but I'll be back in a minute," he told Lottie. MANNERS, you know? Couldn't just go walking off.
Tobias grinned at Adi whilst he put the big bag of gummy worms that he'd got from Ella in one of the bags that contained his gifts. "I did get it over the summer," he said, referring to his pogo-stick. "But it was just something my grandparents got me so I could, like... focus my energy on. My broomstick was an early birthday present." And a FINE one it was indeed.
"I'm just gonna go put this stuff out of the way," he said to Adi, gesturing to all of his presents and stuff. "I'll see you around, yeah? And we can pogo."
He'd just ducked through all the people and retrieved his broom when he caught the question Kace directed at him. "Yeah, I practice all the time. How about you?" Tobias was drawing up a PROPER schedule for practicing, which involved flying AND also looking up special moves. He was so PREPPED. "Listen, Kace, I'll speak to you later. I gotta put all this away," he said gesturing to ALL his STUFF.
He ALSO needed to put his uniform in the laundry. Grass stains from the broom-stopping-too-quickly incident.
Thank Merlin the house elves were back.
Tobias' cake had been finished in a matter of minutes. It was really good, and Tobias made a note to grab MOAR CAKE in a minute when he had got changed and was no longer weighed down with STUFF. He gave Minerva a BIG THUMBS UP (or as much as he could with all the things he was carrrying). CAKE GOOD YES.
"Definitely! That would be awesome!" Tobias would FIND an occasion that warranted cake. He WOULD.
Anyway. He had... you know... to go get his stuff out of the way.
"I'll be back in a minute," he told... anyone. Anyone who was listening.
And then he disappeared off to the boy's dormitories his birthday wings from Wade sprinkling gold stuff everywhere as he went.
Smart boy is smart. See how he didn't mention 'Anytime'? He just said 'No problem'. That was incredibly smart for a thirteen year old. Alec should learn from Tobias, since Lottie tended to take these things kind of literal.
Oh, Merlin. Was Tobias thinking about what kind of present to ask of Lottie? He probably wasn't as smart as she thought, although it would save her some trouble of having to FIND something for the boy. But then... heh, surprising, that was. She beamed at him. Was he for reaaaal???
Considering the answer she'd given Minerva about her birthday, Lottie leaned towards the boy and whispered to him, "My birthday's October 1st, but shhhh, tell no one." Never mind how much she loved her birthday, she loved it for that same reason. It was her's. Only to be shared with very important people. Apparently, Tobias was one of those.
Wow, he was really lucky.
And he had to leave, it sounded like a legit reason, "Sure, go ahead," she probably should go find out if Kaiden was really okay, though. But hey, wait a minute, was she covered in some sort of glitter now? What was this!? Did it come from Tobias? If so, then that's okay.

Awar settled herself in a corner in her house's common room. She told Manolo she would definitely focus more on her schoolwork this term. Well, she said she would try.
Emitting a long, dramatic sigh, she pried open her textbook. She stared at the pages, squinting at the small text. Her hand involuntarily snaked into her pocket and pulled out some chocolate frogs. It seems like it was a good time for a break.
She flung her book aside and sprawled herself on carpet. UGGGHHHHHHHHHHH, munch, nom, UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

SO MANY PEOPLES.
Not a moment after Fern walked into the room, Bristol noticed her and BAM, she was over to her in nanoseconds. "Hellooooo, Fern," she greeted, bouncing on the balls of her feet, not caring what people thought of her energetic ways. "This is PARTY. Isn't it great?" It was. Fern knew that, duh. "It's for all the September birthday peoples."
She only half waited for Fern to reply, before turning back to her bestie, Forrest. "Cool!" Enjoying the party, good choice. "I'm doing that, too." If that wasn't already obvious from her excitable manner. He was talking about cake. Now wasn't he just the best best friend ever!? "ALL THE CAKE. I mean ... any? Chocolate?" This was a BIG question for her. "Chocolate. Yes." Thank you, best friend!
Now to wait for cake, omnomnomm.
Hehe. "Isn't it just?" She asked, glad that he knew it, too. "Oh, yes. Lots and lots and lots." Maybe that was a slightly exaggeration, but only by one 'lots' and Adi wasn't to know. Hopefully, though, she would know that other 'lots' soon enough. "Really! Her name is Deeeeeee! Dee." And she was one of Bristol's favourite peoples in the entire WORLD. Possibly even the universe.
Bristol returned Kace's grin. Did he just bow to her? That made her giggled and she wondered why he'd bowed. Maybe the whole point was to make her giggle - in which case, he'd succeeded. Well done, you. An interesting beautiful name? "THANK YOUUU," she exclaimed, giving him yet another massive grin. This boy was making his way up her list of favourite people, did he know that? Just by inflating her ego. Yep.
It was as simple as that.
Hufflepuff house, where to start. "It's really, really great," she explained to begin with. Inside her head, she had an mini-battle to decide whether to bombard Kace with words or not. In the end, she just decided to go with the flow. "I've met so many peoples and they're all really great. Like Elodie and Fern and Forrest and Tall!Boy .. I mean Alec." There. That was her shortened version of why she liked Hufflepuff house. "And it's SO cool that we're near the kitchens." Couldn't miss that bit out.
That was a good way to find things out, Bristol thought as she admired Minnie as she asked peoples with September birthdays to raise their hand. "I know Alec, he's my Tall!boy and I know Ella, too. She'd the Quidditch Captaaaaaain." Therefore, she was automatically one of the best people EVER. Yes? Yes. Hehe. "That's good then. I'll be twelve then, a big girl!" Twelve was a big number, at least she thought that. Of course she thought that.
Bristol breathed a sigh of relief. Normally she wouldn't care if she'd done something wrong, but this was someone's birthday and that was an important thing. Couldn't do things wrong a birthday party - she wouldn't like it if peoples did it at her's. "That's good then, all requirements COMPLETE." Because believe it or not, she was having fun. Hehe. "I see him," she told her and headed over to him, striking up a conversation.
She was just spontaneous like that, yep.
Without hesitation, she shook Wade's hand and grinned, "it's a pleasure to meet you, Waaaaaaade." Polite, just like her daddy had always taught her to be. "That's alright, I welcomed myself into it," she told him, keeping a straight face for a few seconds. Someone with her levels of enthusiasm couldn't just wait around to be welcomed, they got stuck right in there. "I'm loving it! It's perfect," she said dreamily and grinned.
To think the term would start out good. Something would really put a damper in his mood. That was the fact that he was chosen for the Amarantha de Talone trial. Not that he didn't want to see her put behind bars, or even be sentenced to death. The sad part was he'd have to leave Hogwarts for a short amount of time. Maybe a week or two. He didn't know how long it would last, or how long he would be needed. All he knew was that he'd have to answer questions about what happened to him.
So he decided to just lounge in the Common Room while he waited for the auror to pick him up.

SPOILER!!: Wade
Minerva couldn't help but crack up at Wade with those pickles. How did someone get so obsessed over pickles she just couldn't figure out. " Yes it's pretty much like that, but it would make him super hyper. I don't think your pickles do that." She was still chuckled. Minerva felt her face blush a bit at his complement. "I could never be as good as you, but thanks Kitty." She really did like playing chaser, but she felt more comfortable with her bat she thought at least. "I've thought about it, but I just don't know. I've been a beater off and on, on the team since second term. " She had played her second and third term, fourth term she hated not getting back to school on time, but the muggle grandparent issue kept her from playing, then second term. She didn't even want to think about how she didn't even make the team that term. It made her nervous about his term. She nodded and then shrugged, "The busier I am the better this term." Less time to miss a certain someone, yeah..

Lottie.. She was an exceptionally different type of Puff wasn't she. Not that Minerva minded she liked unique people and Lottie was surely unique. Smiling at the girl she shook her head, "No.. no everyone's birthday is just as important as anyone else, so we will be celebrating yours as well. If you don't want to tell me that's fine." Of course it was if she had her way they would hit her day eventually. "We will hit your birthday at one of these monthly cake socials." That was a good way to call it, right? Everyone wanted cake.
SPOILER!!: Fern

Minerva smiled brightly at Fern, "They look wonderful. I should do my soon." she looked down at her unpainted nails. No she hadn't taken the time lately, but soon.
Looking back up she smiled, "I was thinking of getting a catalog owled maybe to to buy a few more things does my wonderful assistant want to help me again? You had such great recommendations last time." She really liked the girls help and she enjoyed Fern around.
"So have you found your favorite place around the castle yet?" She had always had her favorite spots, but it was always interesting o hear if others had them. "I would recommend the lake and the duck pond if you haven't went exploring there yet." She hoped the girl was getting along alright.
SPOILER!!: Bristol
That was a good way to find things out, Bristol thought as she admired Minnie as she asked peoples with September birthdays to raise their hand. "I know Alec, he's my Tall!boy and I know Ella, too. "I see him," she told her and headed over to him, striking up a conversation.
Minerva chuckled a bit, Alec tall boy. She glanced over to the one she had always saw in her mind as her little brother. Yeah he wasn't little anymore was he. He was seventeen now. Wow seventeen she couldn't even believe it. Nope he would always be that first year cutie that came through those doors so long ago. "Well ALec and Ella are two great people to know. They will always help when needed. They are two of my very best friends." family was more how she saw those two. Still chuckling she tried to remember if she felt that way about being twelve, but she just couldn't remember. So much had happened when she was twelve. It seemed so long ago. "Well twelve is a big deal, we will have a big cake, alright? Your choice."
She watched as Bristol went over to Wade.. So many adorable firsties she was so happy they were puffs.
Laura had no idea what to do, she hadn't done much at all and she didn't know half the people around. She also didn't want to disturb all her friends they were all so busy and she was a bit shy at disturbing everyone so she just stood there and waited to see what would happen.
Let's imagine we've concluded the party. And this is for Captain&anyone! :3

Forrest usually kept a good track of classes and homeworks, so he didn't need to look at the announcement board in the common room. He never did, too. And he wasn't going to look today. There was no reason for him to look at it. Quidditch roster should be on it, he knew, but he was sure as his name that he wasn't selected. So why bother, right? Why putting Ella under strain? His bag hanging from his shoulders, he made his way to the door of the common room to exit. His eyes went to the board though, and he saw the roster. His name was... on it?
Could it be?
Naaaah... his eyes probably deceived him. He had much homework to do. He should be off to the library--
"What?"
He was standing right in front of it with the deepest frown ever. His name was indeed on it. Right under Ella's. He touched the paper. It was solid. He then touched his name on it to see maybe it was written there as a joke or something, but it was written neatly like everyone else's name. He proceded to pinch himself, then winced in pain.
This was reality. His name was THERE. He was SELECTED. He was going to FLY, and fly FAST, and catch BALLS while trying not to DIE--no actually, he was going to die. Right now. Because he couldn't breathe. What had he DONE? How--what--why?! He couldn't even fly--and now he had to! This was a mistake. Both hands on his head as a sign of utter desperation, he sank to the floor, eyes never leaving the paper. Painful or not, this was a dream. It had to. He... he couldn't be on the team! He was bound to be a shame! He was...

He wanted his mummy.
She'd been creeping.
And yeah, usually she went and hid in the dorms or something after the rosters went up in case of hard feelings or concerns or whatever but not today. Instead she'd settled on curling up in an arm chair and hiding behind her potions book, peeking out occasionally to see people's reactions. Y'know, in case she had some running away to do or whatever. ...Mhm.
The look on little Forrest's face did have her a bit concerned though. Concerned enough so that the blonde placed her book down and wandered over to stand next to him only when she arrived, the kid was on the floor.
O___O
"I...are you okay?" Because she wasn't good with fainting second years. You couldn't exactly hug them okay again, y'know? So like...don't faint or anything, kiddo.

"I'll fail, I'll fail, I'll--" Forrest stopped his chanting and looked up at the intruder, with the most pathetic look on his face and hands on his head. He slowly got up to his knees, never breaking the eye contact with her.
"Ella--I--I can't play for the team," he blurted out frantically. "I jus' can't--you need to talk to the referee--I can't, you see? I can't."
