AR Project - Post 3

Once she was near the base of the tree, Eliza loosened her grip around her cloak. She didn't want to seem standoffish, so she tried to relax. Okay...now time to talk to a tree. She cleared her throat and swallowed once. I really should've brought some chapstick with me, she thought, feeling her lips dry a bit in the chilly weather. No matter, you'll be inside soon. Just...do this.

She liked nature. She really did. Trees included. She'd even sent out silent thanks to nature before, but she'd never verbally tried to ...communicate with it, but she was now. "Erm...hello there tree! I've come to visit you. My name is Eliza Dawnsel and I know that you are a willow tree, though I'm sorry I don't know how to learn your name. If you have a specific one, that is." She shifted her feet and smoothed down her robes, not sure what to do with herself. Professor Botros said it would be fine, so just relax, she coached herself. "I've come today because I appreciate you and what you do for the environment and for people and animals too. And because I have a favor to ask, but I wanted to get to know you better first," she continued, a little more smoothly this time. Why did she feel like she was on some kind of a blind date with this tree? She didn't know its hobbies, likes or dislikes... Well maybe she knew a few likes. Staple items such as water, dirt, sunlight - that sort of thing. But other than that... She'd have to talk to the tree a little more.

She sat down at the base and rested her back against the trunk of the tall tree. "Is this okay for me to do? Would you like some company?" She laid her cheek against the bark and touched her palm of her hand to it. It wasn't as rough as some trees, but not as smooth either. She supposed a happy medium was a good thing to be. "It must get a little lonely to be the only willow tree around, doesn't it?" she asked quietly. No need to speak loudly when they were sitting so closely together. "Well you don't have to be lonely or sad now because I'm here to chat with you. You're a very nice looking tree you know. Tall, strong, pretty flowing branches. And this spot by the lake is really ideal! I know how much you like water and I'll bet the view is nice year round!" There, she was getting better at communicating already.

Penelope flailed more and tried to push him off. "So are you!" Seriously, it wasn't like anything he was doing was helping either. What WOULD help? "Get off!" That.

FLAIL FLAIL FLAIL.

There was a lot of flailing on her end, which made HIS flailing harder to do and his at least had a purpose. Pen needed to cut that out. No more flailing for her because he had SNOW in his sleeve, her fault of course. And now he needed to get it out, jeez. Consideration.

People and bladger trio (and the STAAARR) and idk who else.

A song about a pickle? Um......Okay then..not even with a guitar? Right? The red head just blinked at her fellow Head Boy and didn't know what to make of what he was doing. Anyways...someone was talking to her.

Giggle. Cute..but no. He didn't need to call her that. He was a friend, and she still had a name. "Keep it as Nessie, yeah?" Or anything that he usually called her, to be honest she didn't mind too much. "Thank you, kiddo." She gave him a smile. Really, how had these kids grown up so big?

Alecutie and his ice cream. Or more like everyone and their ice cream. Too crazy for words. "As long as it's good." He got some more smiles. And sweeets....were their chocolates? Because he clearly knew chocolate was always her favorite. "Thanks, I'll help myself soon." She wanted to first see what was going on with the whole explosion thing. But Yeeep stressful studying was, she gave Alec a few nods there. And Nods for Tobias too, because she was right about what she said.

These kids were really getting lectured bad and Ness might have felt a little bad for them. But what other way would they---

Um.....why was he Mr. Firth heading towards them? Blink...um..and he wanted to speak to them? MORE blinking.

A little confused the red head looked at Ella and then at Oakey who was now singing some trouble song. Pout. What had they even done to get into trouble?

Anyways..walked off she did and listen too. Mellow. Technically they had done nothing, but then that was the problem. The nothing bit. At least it wasn't proper trouble. What Ness did want to say that she had arrived late, which she did, and that she hadn't noticed, but she didn't say that because she didn't want the others to take all the blame. It wasn't really their fault either. "Sorry, Mr. Firth...I..we--"

Oh no, looks like trouble

Oakey swung his bass in his hand, and listened to the third staff berate him for his lack of leadership this term. Oakey has had about enough of it. Three times, was too much for him. Why not just hurry it up and take his badge from him then. It'd be easier.

looks like trouble for sure

"Mr. Firth sir. We came down to the Lake to have a Hufflepuff Team get together. When we arrived Alexa, Nigel, and Mika looked like they were just talking. Nothing to bother about, plus we had all of our Housemates surrounding us, so we had to keep an eye on them too." He'd understand that, yeah? They were trying to be good House Leaders to their other housemates. Besides they were just as suprised when they heard the loud booms too.

"By the time they set off the fireworks, you and Flamsteed had arrived, you seemed to have the situation under control, and I didn't want to intrude on your authority." What was that flying at Mr.Firths head?

Firth, Oakey, Ness and the snowball of doom

Were they really getting in trouble for this? Really? Ella bit her lip and fought off the urge to explain that she couldn't be held responsible for something that she wasn't even aware of. Because how was she expected to pay attention to those three when she was with her team who had ice cream. Ice cream which she didn't get a chance to finish, by the way. She glanced longingly over her shoulder at it before quickly directing her attention back to Firth. She also wanted to say that her boyfriend and her Messy were being ridiculous boys and she was more focused on that possible explosion than the ones in the sky but she refrained. Something told her Firth didn't want excuses.

The sixteen year old nodded along with what Oakey was saying and added, "We honestly didn't realize something was amiss until you came down and began reprimanding them, Sir. We surely would have said something earlier had we th-"

Ella squeezed her eyes shut tight, afraid to see if the rogue snowball had hit its target. Who threw that, anyway? And why did Professor Airey face seem to be in such a huff?

Before the groundskeep had gone all bossy and sassy pants on everyone, the astronomer was going to suggest that the three be made to clean up their mess, supervised, the muggle way and be put to more cleaning duties around the castle. But nooooooooo...Mr. Buzz Kill just had to be all depressing and even reject the ice cream.

Which, by the way, he did not shove into your face. A adults thought students were overdramatic. So you cut it out, man. STARE. NO BRO FOR YOU!

Airey stood off to the side grumbling internally at the entire scene. He was all for keeping kids safe and rule following and all that - but he had done worse in his day. Probably why he had such a high tolerance for some of their antics. He flashed the three a small smile and a light shoulder shrug. He had tried and all this could have passed without all those sad looks.

He was SURE that Miss Cambridge would be stopping by his office later to discuss this. Her and Miss Wisteria seemed to come to him when they had been emotionally compromised.

He idly bent over and picked up a clump of snow and began to form a ball in his hands. Maybe the remaining kids would be willing to have a snowball fight after all this was done. You know? Pick the cheer back up. Of course he was listening to what the groundskeeper was saying to the Hufflepuff student leaders as well - even moved closer as they moved away. He was curious by nature - like a good little Gryffindor.

Well... excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse him?! Find another staff member. What did that make Airey, huh? Talk about maintain authority here Firthy. Not like you are Superman in a kilt or anything. You just accused your colleague of not even being on Hogwarts staff. Ball of snow now formed in his hand, he sent a mischievous look towards the student first before he threw the snowball right at the back of Firth's head.

HA! Ignore that, Mr. Groundskeep.

Now, anyone else want to have a snowball fight? Airey made a fantastic moving target for those who were curious.

Well. Ali didn't know what Airey problem was (well, he could guess), but he didn't really care if he was ruining fun or whatever. His job was to uphold the rules and keep students safe--plus the whole keeping the grounds looking nice bit.

Ignoring his colleague for the moment, he returned his attention to the three students in front of him. Renesmee was mumbling an apology, while the other two were claiming they hadn't heard or seen the large explosions nearby. "Perhaps yeh need ter have yer ears cleaned out, you three. I'm curious how yeh couldn' have--"

But then he was rudely interrupted. All three of them were yelling something at the same time, so he couldn't make out the individual words. He was about to ask them to kindly repeat themselves--one at a time--when...

ker-SPLAT!

Alistaire Firth was silent. One second passed, which he spent simply staring at the student who happened to be straight in front of him, the Head Girl. Two seconds... Three seconds...

Then softly, the Groundskeeper asked, "Why is the back of my head cold and wet?"

Merlin's beard, this wasn't a hard concept to grasp. He could just roll over and lay in the snow himself - or better yet, stand up so he wouldn't get anymore snow on him - and all their problems would be solved because then she could get up too and they could go into the castle and get warm, have some hot chocolate, etc., and have a nice not-cold-and-covered-in-snow rest of the day.

But no, no, apparently he thought it was smarter for them to just continue to lay there where she was getting colder and colder by the second. Dear Merlin.

"Snow in my BACK!" Penelope replied with another flail and attempt to push him off. "I don't have a minute, I'm already half frozen." Obviously an exaggeration, but desperate times called for desperate exaggerations. Or something like that.

Troy found himself with a bucket full of color chalk he had asked his Brother David to OWL over, for the purpose of playing some good ol' muggle hopscotch! Prior to his he had OWLed his "lady friend" Peyton, to get her butt over here so he could teach her how to play.

He drew the grid consisting of squares and numbers on the ground, playing a couple of rounds before Peyton showed up. In the pocket in front of his chest he had two little figures that he was going to use while playing.

"Women." Troy shook his head "They always take foooooooorever" He sighed as he was impatient and already quite excited to start playing!

She was late to her little play-date with Troy. But to her defense it wasn't her fault. Her kneazle decided it would be fun to play with her green hair tie -- the one she specifically picked out for today -- and dragged it all over the her dorm, then settled with hiding it under her bed. Cute stupid kneazle.

Peyton finally walked out to the grounds, tying her bright red hair into a nice high ponytail. This hopscotch business seemed important. Well, to the kid, and she really did want to learn to play it. Maybe then hopscotch wouldn't just remind her of the beverage her dad drinks quite often.

When she spotted the little dude, Peyton waved high and mighty. "Trooooooooooooy!" Look at him with his cute little overalls and cute cheeks. Awww. She couldn't help it. Peyton pinched his cheek. "How'ya doing, kid?"

She eyed the drawing on the ground. Hmm. Hopscotch.

Troy was about to grab a piece of chalk but returned back to Peyton "Oh Hi Peyton!" He returned only to greet her. XD

Troy wrote down their names on the ground, to keep score and pulled out the little figures he had in his front pocket.

"Here you get the unicorn 'cause it's for like girls. And you're a girl, so here." He handed the figure over to Her. "And I get the Pegasus, because he's manly." Troy beamed at the little flying horse figure and growled "rawwwr" he giggled.

"A little push?" Peyton raised an eyebrow and then giggled. If Troy was talking about the same "little pushes" she gave Rosie -- the family's resident sociopath -- then this was a friendship that'll last for ages.

Someone forgot his manners, but it didn't matter 'cause he was teaching her how to play hopscotch and she wasn't even paying him. Free lessons, whoop! It was extra awesome with the crisis at Hogwarts.

"Yessss!" Peyton fist bumped the air. Unicorn figurine was so hers. Wait. "Pegasus are manly?" Really? With pretty wings and all? Troy was silly. "Careful there, kiddo. Some girls can take that the wrong way and think you're being sexist or something." True. She's seen her sisters go all banshee on guys who went all: You're a girl... Then SMACK in the face.

The redhead looked down at the chalk lines and at the unicorn figurine. Was she supposed to hop like a unicorn? 'Cause she hasn't seen a unicorn hop.

... Except for that one time, but that was her dad in a unicorn suit for her fifth birthday party. :3

Troy nodded. Has she even seen the Disney movie Hercules?

"Shexist? What's shexist?" Troy had a slight slurp to that word, but in no was he being that. "I dunno what that means, and I don't like those girls then." He pouted and his cheeks bubbled. He waved his hand in the air "i don't care" style. Shrugging it off he began with the lessons.

"Okay the key of this game is to toss your unicorn onto whatever number it lands on and you have to hop over it. Okay Peyton. HOP." Troy beamed and demonstrated how to hop.

He threw his little Pegasus onto the grid and landed on the number 2 "1..." He hopped over 2 "3,4,5,6,7,8,0" Troy turned around and smiled. "See now your turn!" The young lion clapped his little hands.

Peyton nodded. Okay. Toss her unicorn. Hop. She totally got this! She watched Troy hop and had the urge to hop after him. "My turn!" She announced. Peyton tossed her unicorn. It bobbled on the ground and landed on the seven.

"So, I skip that one, right?" She didn't wait for an answer. Peyton went ahead and hopped. She made it to the other side, but not before her foot sliiiightly touched the 8 square.

"Okay the unicorn landed on 7 mhmm..." Troy scanned and observed the Hopscotch situation for any cheating "you slightly landed on 8 mhmmm..." the final verdict was pretty indecisive "that still doesn't count, Peyton." with a strict emphasis on the "P" "No point for you. It's the rules." he nodded and pointed to a parchment paper, on which he wrote down the rules .

"Now me." Troy held his head high and pointed to himself. He tossed the Pegasus landing on the number 5 "1,2,3,4.....6,7,8,9,0!" Troy beamed and added a point under his name. "If I win you have to do my homework." He was a little behind, he saw his chance and went for it!

Messer had no idea what's happening in the lake. One minutw they're having picnic with ice cream and the next thing he knew the Groundskeeper came and asked to speak with Ella, Nessie and Oakey. But thanks to his ignorance, the fifth year just keep nomming his ice cream.

His eyes went from his ice cream to the small younger Hufflepuff. "Its nice to meet you too...Umm.." What's the boy name again? "I think I haven't catch your name."

Keep it as Nessie, yeah? But Miss Head Girl sounds really cool. Oh well, since Nessie asked. "Okay. If you promise not to call me kiddo again, deal?" He gave Nessie his biggest smile. Didn't the Head Girl notice that he already grown up?

Messer attention was caught by Alec's question about the tutu. How many time did he has to tell him that he NEVER EVER wear a tutu. Sigh. "Who's tutu? I don't know anyone name tutu." Yeah. Alec should be more specific with his question. And the grin? No Messer didn't like that grin. It said trouble all over it.

After he gave Ella kissed on the cheek, the fifth year noticed his roommate's behavior change like someone just steal his ice cream. Huh? What did he do? His eyes went back and forth looking at Ella and Alec. "Did someone die?" Blink. Blink. Blink.

That isn't what he or Ella had just said! Renesmee, needed to step up her game. Two out of three Puff leaders trying to save their hides wasn't going to cut it. Oakey glanced over to the Head Girl then back to Firth. "Sir, we did here the loud booms. You were just fast on the scene, like Superman, or more like the Flash. Those heroes in the comics you know." Oakey liked the Flash a little more, so it was in his head when he was yelling incoming that the Groundskeeper had his own Rogues gallery, and a Nemisis like Captain Cold. That Snow ball was coming fast, and if Mr.Firth was anything like the Flash he'd be out of it's way in an instant

...

Nope...Guess Mr.Firth was Superhuman after all. Kind of a shame. "Either, Captain Cold is real, and out to get you. Or I think the Astronomy Professor wants your attention...sorry I read to many comics" Oakey pointed over to the Astronomy Professor. Have some fun Mr.Firth, fight back. Oakey wouldn't mind a snow ball fight, he'll side with the Groundskeeper and hopefully get a few hits on the Astro Prof. himself.

Talikins 07-04-2013 01:22 PM

Had he just denied her of calling him kiddo? Come on. Frown. Messer sorta had a point though, maybe at his age it was a little humiliating to have someone call you a kid. But hey she was only teasing no harm intended. "Fine, fine. I won't call you that." She gave him a tiny cheek pinch then stopped, realizing he might have not wanted that either.

-----------

Ears? No..no her ears were fine. Maybe Oakey's weren't, but then she hadn't screeched in front of him for quite some time so surely they were fine by now. The red head looked between Ella and Oakey, then kept her eyes on Oakey.

Superhero comparison? Um...was Mr. Firth even going to accept that? They'd have to see, because Ness decided to utter not a word more about that just yet. She didn't have much she could say about the matter and anyways did Mr. Firth not hear them about the SNOWBALL coming...because it was getting nearer you know..and soon it would--

The staring. Mellow. She told him to duck, so seriously. He shouldn't have been staring at her like that, it kinda creeped her out. But his question. She could answer this one without even much thinking, but still there was hesitation as Oakey beat her too it..but with a weird answer, kinda amusing though which was why she couldn't help but let out a giggle. "Snow, Sir. I think someone threw a snowball at you." COUGH Airey, because it had came from his way."Would you like me to dry it for you?" she eyed his face with a little tilt of her head as if trying to look at the back of his head. No more trouble for her, so anything that made Mr. Firth chilled with them she'd listen to.

TakemetotheBurrow 07-04-2013 01:51 PM

Firth, Oakey, Ness ^__^

Ella was just staring at Oakey. Comic references? Was Firth a comic fan? The blonde hoped so because she really didn't want any trouble and she honestly hadn't been paying attention to the Gryffinclaw trio. Honest.

And then...O__________O

Yeah, the snowball was only going to make Mr. Firth more aggravated and Ella wasn't a fan of being in the presence of aggravated adults. Especially aggravated adults who could take points and sentence students to detentions.

The blonde followed his gaze to Nessie, her green eyes still wide as she waited to see what the red head would say. Oh and Oakey Worm had totally just threw Airey-face under the bus. He knew that, right? Ella didn't want any of her teammates to get in trouble for the rogue snowball but she didn't want Airey and Firth all angry and stuff either. How did they get put in the middle of this again?

"Maybe...someone wants to have a snowball fight with you, Sir?" Grasping at straws here. "You do look like a formidable opponent." Yup. Shuffle.

And Firth should really let Ness dry his head cause he didn't want to catch a cold! Shiverrrrrr.

the puffs and that snowball incident *points*

Ah, so Ella agreed then. Yes good.

No, wait... were they leaviiiiiing? Aww, sad. Tobias would have liked to make more friends. CLEARLY the groundskeeper had been a massive meanie pants and sent them away or something. No fair, what if they'd wanted ice cream?

Oh no... he was coming over. ABORT ABO-

Wait, the guy only wanted those free, so Tobias was safe. He sat back on the blanket with his other teammates and Messer and spooned ice cream into his mouth as he watched.

And speaking of Messer...

Tobias looked at him again and then lightly slapped his own forehead with the palm of his hand. Doi! He hadn't said his name. "Oh yeah! My name's Tobias," he smiled. Or Toby. Whatever.

But theeeeeeeeeeeen he looked back at the other group and from this angle they had the absolute best view. Tobias watched Professor Starman even as the groundskeeper talked to the other three... saw him wind up his arm with a snowball... saw the student leaders see the Starman... and saw the snowball hit the groundskeeper right in the back of the head.

Oh

Sweet

Merlin

Tobias immediately dissolved into giggles and tried to muffle his mouth with a blanket covered hand as he did so. That was AWESOME. DO IT AGAIN, STARMAN! "Did you see that?!" he spoke through muffled giggles as he addressed the housemates who remained. C'MON ALEC HOW FUNNY WAS THAT.

That was quite a commotion, wasn't it? Wade for majority of it furrowed his brows at the scene. It all happened so fast, next thing he knew it was just him and the other guys save Oakey Pokeyand Minnie of his teammates that were left to eat the ice cream and pickles. It was too bad, he was getting all comfy in his tiger onesie enough to go into nap mode when his house leaders had to go bye-bye. So much for getting to recommend a zebra onesie for LocNessie. Heh.

Oh right, he forgot to mention his own name, heh. Silly Wade. "Good meeting you Messer, I'm Wade." It was easier and better to have a name to go with familar faces. Now where was Professor Space-suited-man?..Hmm? What was he going to do with- aha. *Smirk* too late for Mr. Firth.

I guess that was one way to cool off. The man who desperately needed ice cream was getting served, only missing a cone to go with that snow. Wade nodded as little Tobi excitedly pointed it out, "I did, that was a wicked shot." Chuckling as he shoveled another helping of ice cream. No wonder the Professor was chosen to play in that Staff and Student Quidditch match. It looked like the next move was now on Mr. Firth's court. "Two gummy worms says Professor Space man will get screamed at." What? it was a match, after all. His time at Durmstrang made him expect shouting matches from these kind of situations.

It was all really cold and he didn't want to listen to reason. More specifically he didn't want to listen to HER reason. After all she was the one who behind WHY he was cold. So yeah, pfft, he wasn't listening to her right now. Ridiculous notion.

Although, he did notice that they were sinking, which was peculiar. After all, he was on top of her so they should have been- right. That was why. Oh well, payback. She started this. Now Pen had to deal with it.

Why she was flailing, he didn't know. Ascanius was BIGGER then her and how she was going to manage moving him was amusing to him 'cause of reasons. Smirk. Although, he did continue to flail his arm to get out the snow. Snow was cold.

She watched him with a smirk on her lips. "You shoe touched the line on six." Not really. But...TAKE THAT, TROY. CACKLE.

Peyton tossed her unicorn and it landed on the 9 square. She hoped onto the first square and glanced over at Troy. "Me, do you homework?" She laughed as she hopped onto the next square. Dove/Jayden <3

It hadn't actually been all that long since she'd been down to the lake with Tag. On their date. It had been strange .. thinking of it as a date and not just 'hanging out', it hadn't even felt that different to her. At the same time, it had made her jumpier and more excited and nervous than normal.

In the hopes that she'd figure out her feelings for Tag, Bliss headed down towards the lake's edge and laid down.

Oooh, that cloud looks like a potato ~

In hopes of finding some sort of Solace after a really depressing one on one with Jared, Jayden decided some lake time would do her some good. As she approached the water however, a huge grin began forming on her face. Bliss, one of her favorite younger Puffers was laying down.. she hadn't seen thatgirl in ages.

CATCH UP TIME!

"Well, well. Long time, no see little puffer stranger!"
Jayden grinned, tossing her hair back as she sat down next to the girl.

Ugh. Dirt. Oh well... she could....deal.

Before long, Bliss was counting the clouds and naming them and wow, she should really get a life, but what could she say? It was fun and if not, then a way to pass the time, which was going surprisingly slow today. After only ten minutes of cloud-watching, she'd named possibly fifty clouds, giving them names like 'Candy', 'Sid', 'Max', 'Dot' and 'Sparkle'. Strange, considering that clouds don't sparkle.

MOVING ON.

Someone had arrived. A someone that she hadn't seen for a long, long time. How exciting! "HEY. Who are you calling a stranger, stranger?" BEAM. Just kidding. "Hey, Jayden. How have you been? WHERE have you been?" Questions. A lot of them. She must answer them all for the Bliss to be content.

"Oh you know, this one Puffer fourth year I like to associate myself with sometimes.." She giggled, pulling a bag of gummy wands out of her purse as she spoke. "I've been around, my dad passed away, so I had to head back home. It was very, depressing.." She mumbled as she began working open the bag. "Want some?"

CANDY. The best distraction from the sads.

Astronomy Lesson 3 Post 2.1-DIFFERENT timeline to Huffie meeting and all that!

Finding nowhere else to go, Ness gave up with the indoors and ventured outside, deciding she'd finish off with the activity much quicker and easier this way. It wasn't exactly easy looking through windows, this was better..even if it was slightly chilly and a longish walk.

The Lake. That's where she headed first.

Getting her focus on she looked up at the sky once again looking for the two kites as she now decided to call them over dippers. Once spotting them she looked at the end of the tail of the small one whilst using Cassiopeia to check that her location of Polaris was right. Which it was.

North or more like Polaris star found once more.

Astronomy 3 - spell

For the Astronomy Activity, Daichi walked towards the Lake. He had the sextant in his hand but he wasn’t going to use it for now. He wanted to use this place to use the spell they had learned in class because he figured that the sky was clearest here. Meaning no trees around and the field was huge right?

Sitting down on the ground, the Prefect rubbed his tired looking eyes. He actually wanted to get some sleep. He checked his watch and noted that he still had some time to do the assignment. In fact, he was a little early. Daichi looked around to check if the Professor wasn’t somewhere near and then layed down on the grass.

He closed his eyes and sighed softly as a cool breeze swept over the landscape. He would close his eyes for a few seconds and….then….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….

Zzz..zzzzzzzzzz…zzzzzzzzz
Zzzzzzz…….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……

The Slytherin frowned in his sleep. (Yes, he actually fell asleep but who could blame him? )His leg twitched a little and a frown appeared on his face when he turned around. He began to sweat and mutter words in his sleep before he woke up with a loud gasp. Sitting up right, the Slytherin gasped loudly as his hand went to his chest in an attempt to slow his speeding heart. Tired eyes looked around and he wondered what he was doing at the Lake when he realized he was here for Astronomy. MEEEEP?! WHATTIMEWASIT?!

The Slytherin checked his watch quickly and noted that he had slept at least 10 minutes. 10MINUTES! “Oh nonononono….” He HAD to hurry up now. Ugh he knew he shouldn’t have closed his eyes! Wait a second. Daichi frowned as he wiped the sweat from his cheeks. Only it wasn’t sweat, they were tears. He couldn’t remember what he had dreamed about but he was pretty sure he knew what it was. Having the same kind of dream since a young age, it was still difficult to deal with it. GAH, NO TIME FOR SELF-PITY!

In a slightly panicked state, Daichi grabbed his wand and pointed it at his eyes. “Oculo Focalis!” He checked his surroundings and noticed that the spell hadn’t worked. MWEH! He took a deep breath to calm himself and with the back of his sleeve he rubbed his eyes. “Oculo Focalis” This time the spell worked and he looked around.

WOAH! BIG WORLD! The Prefect looked up at the night sky and FINALLY started to search.

Please don't kill him for falling asleep Grandson of a famous person!

Astronomy Lesson 3 Post 2.2

Sextant time again. Seeing as it was already in her hand this time, Ness didn't take her eyes off Polaris. Instead she brought the sextant to her eye and only then tilted her head back to normal till she could see the horizon rather than the sky in the lenses of her sextant.

Clamp release and clunk. clunk.

She swished handle waiting to see Polaris. And there WHOOPS she had missed it. Right. Focus. She pulled it back in the opposite direction and soon enough she found what she was looking for. Her Polaris star right at her horizon line. She pressed the clamp and took down her degrees.

Hmmm...interesing, how just like Airey said they'd differ so much. Eleven was her number this time and her latitude was seventy nine. Those both got scribbled down and then not wasting any time the red head moved on.

It was cold, creepy and the sooner she got inside those doors again the sooner a smile would be worn on her face once more.

Astro lesson 3 3a

Sarah had spotted Nessie and ran after her. The bruntette had wante dto do one last reading outside proper. She casted lumos and made her way, her heart pouding. Even the 'be a lion. be brave' she was telling herself did not seem to be working. She followed the redhead, tring to keep her thought off the creatures lurking in the shadows...lying in wait... Her heart beat fast. The dark was scary, not a scary entity in itself, yet rather what i was hiding or could be hiding was scary. Nessie was there and Nessie would hear Sarah if Saarah screamt-right?

They were headed to the lake. Sarah was scared she was going to fall in or something. SCARY. NIGHT. DARKNESS. Look up, and get started, she told herself and she looked up. Her eyes rested on the superhero shaped one... the one ready in a pose. Okay, so Polaris was a bit down from there... there he was! Great. Now for her sextant

Astronomy 3 - spell

The world was actually really funny when it was magnified like this. Also a bit scary because he could even see the little insects walking around through the grass. Daichi looked around him and spotted another student in the distance. Thanks to the spell, he could easily see who that person was. He grinned when he noticed it was the Head Girl before he blushed. She hadn't seen him sleeping right?

Scratching the back of his head, he quickly looked up at the sky. So he had to find the polaris system right? His eyes hurt as his eyesight zoomed in , searching the stars. It didn't take long for him to find the brightest star. Especially not with the use of this spell.

He yawned a little before continueing the search. A few seconds later, his eyes saw Polaris A and he smiled a little had his finding. Good. Remembering his notes, Daichi knew that Polaris AB was close by. So he searched the sky for another few seconds until he found that one as well.

He was on a roll despite having fallen asleep earlier. Mweh, he still couldn't believe he had been that tired. Shaking his head, The Slytherin lost Polaris and he groanded loudly. Though the groan had been unnecessary since he found the system right away again.

Polaris B...where were youuuu? He remembered that it was further away than the other polarises...polarisen....whatever you call them together! He looked out and for a few more minutes and BAM! He found it~

Slapping himself on the shoulder as a job good done, he then used the "Finite" spell on his eyes and blinked rapidly when his eyes adjusted to the world again. Normal size. Ah he wished he had eye-drops right now.

Astro lesson 3 3b

This lake was so scary. She was scared to move an inch could htat would mean falling into the water. Wand light needed to go off so she could see. Now. Sextant needs to find horizon. A brief Shiver went over her. She hated being outside. Nessie was about to move on, so she should too . Thankfully there were other students there though. Maybe she was shivering from the breeze? She did not know, yet what she did know was that she did not want to be outside for longer. She found he horizon, now she needed to press down clamp and put Polaris in the same place as the horizon... Good. Now realease clamp. Maybe just swing for fun. Awesome. Measurements, now she need her wnad for light as she wrote down on a partchment:

Quote:

Latitude = 90 Degrees – sextant angle = 90-40=50degrees.
This Hogwarts interference was really something.. the results really did vary. Wait Nessie was leaving? Sarah ran as quick as her legs could carry her away from lake. She did not want to squid to pull her in by mistake or something

Astro Activity 2, post 1

Mika had run down so fast that she almost forgot where she wanted to go. When she managed to stop, and glance around and realize that she was infact standing by the lake. The very lake she had gotten the most points in the history of point reductions in her stint at this school...she just frowned. But still, it was also near to where she had done that star-gazing thing. So she was going to try this thing.

Glancing at the sky, she just smiled to herself. The stars were twinkling - and she really wasn't looking forward to doing the eye spell (again). But she had to. Otherwise she wouldn't be completely sure if she was looking at Polaris A, Polaris B, or Polaris C....D...E...whatever other amount of Polaris's there seemed to be.

"Oculo Focalis" she tapped her eye and nothing happened. Frown, "OCULO FOCALIS" she spoke the spell with as much force as possible and tried not to jab her now closed eyes. When she opened them again she had to stagger back. The word was so detailed.

AR Project - Post 4

Okay, so she had complimented the tree and talked with it a little bit. And she'd meant what she said too. She wasn't just trying to butter the willow up so that she could get what she wanted, because that would be mean and she certainly wasn't a mean person. In fact she was a very genuine and caring person. Which was why she was looking forward to giving the tree a gift, but not quite yet. For now, she just needed to pop the question.

She sat up from the trunk slightly and cleared her throat. It was sort of a big thing to ask, wasn't it? She knew she needed to though, so she took a deep breath and forged ahead. "So, I was wondering..." But then she remembered, Oh! Walk around the tree. Notes. Right.

She checked her notes again, dragging her pale finger across the page. Yes, three times, clockwise. Annnnd go! She slowly and calmly stood from the base of the tree, brushed off her robes, and began to walk around the tree. Lucky I didn't choose a redwood ey? This could take DAYS if I had! They were massive trees indeed. This willow though was fairly average size. But not in the average way that meant she thought the tree was only average, because she was being nice to it and appreciating it and all of that and definitely didn't want it to have any confidence issues.

She circled clockwise, once, and ran her hand along the bark as she did. She sort of felt like she was stalking the tree, but that was what the book said to do so... She circled it again and began to speak, again. Um, willow tree? Could I have a branch from you please?" She looked up at its branches and watched them blow beautifully in the wind as she circled a third time. Hopefully she wasn't on the verge of giving the poor tree an anxiety attack, because she knew if someone was circling her like that - she just might feel a little nervous. She stopped after the last circle and spoke softly again. "I'd like to make a nice gandr you see, and I chose you for it. For a lot of reasons, but, would you mind?" She didn't feel any bad vibes so that was a good sign in her eyes. "Maybe you'd like to tell me which branch you'd like to share with me? I don't want to take your favorite or anything." Maybe it's like having a favorite section of hair or something. There's always that spot that's always super soft, so I wouldn't want to give that away if someone asked me... Subconsciously, she began to twirl the strands near her ear as she thought of the shiny collection of hair.

Anyway. The breeze blew in her direction and made the branches sway and blow, revealing a low growing branch just above her head. It looked pretty pliable and fresh to her, so she took that as an acceptance.

After a few more moments of flailing his arm, the snow melted and Ascanius was free of the agony of the cold. Ugh, it was so wonderful and now he could bring on the fight TENFOLD. But when he looked down at his girlfriend he realized he already had. She was squished into the ground begging him to get up. Smirk. Yeah, who had won this, Pen? Him. That was who.

So he was going to draaaaag on this he-was-cold-routine until he won. 'Cause that was how it was done in Essex and also because, well, he was a Slytherin. They won because they were the best. Pfft.

Ascanius continued to flail with this thought in mind and dramatically continued, "Cold! Really, really cold. HOLD STILL!" Or give up. Whichever came first. Smirk.

Smirk.

.........Okay, you know what? New tactic.

Penelope had stopped her flailing and now just...stared up at him. Yeah. No more talking or ordering him to get up. She was gonna let him flail and squeal like a little girl until the snow in his sleeve had melted and stopped bothering him and he finally got up and admitted she won. Meanwhile, she was just gonna stare. No moving. No talking. Almost like she was...frozen, yeah?

Which she felt like she was. Her entire back and legs were freezing, and she was probably starting to shiver a little from the cold. But she set her jaw to keep her teeth from chattering, and other than the slight shivering, she wasn't moving anymore.

Stare.

As much as she wanted to stay in her common room to save some of her knuts, the air inside is killing her. And it was too crowded for her comfort. With coins tingling inside her pocket (since she needed them to be able to get inside the common room), Erin made her way to the lake. It seemed like fresh air was circulating around her. She was able to absorb the breeze of the wind. It felt like she was one with nature.

How this feels good.

With silence covering her up, she was distracted by a sudden sound. A sound of loud footsteps. She could already guess who it is.

Laura had decided it was time for her to go outside after spending a lot of her time studying for her Owls, she wanted to do the best should could do with her OWLS but she knew she didn't want to get ill by studying to hard, she then saw Erin. "Hey" Laura walked over to her friend. "How have you been?" Laura smiled. "And where have you been?"

Erin turned around where Laura's smile greeted her. Laura was always full of energy whenever she meets her but this time around, the younger Puff seemed wary. Oh, must be the anticipated exams or rather...a boy. Or just whatever. Maybe, she's just hungry.

Erin smiled humorously how she could always distinguished Laura's presence from others even with her eyes closed. Ha.

"I've been good," Erin answered Laura while doing an Indian seat. Yes, she was ready for her usual meditation. She closed her eyes and did the yoga position while facing the lake. "I'm busy with homeworks of course and some stuffs. How about you?"

There was a level of smugness that Ascanius was carrying about right now at his awesome plot. Pretty soon his girlfriend would get so bored that she would BEG him to get off of her and then he would have affectively won. It was idiot proof.

Okay, so, pfft, he KNEW he was handsome--that part wasn't new--but she didn't need to stare at him like that so he would know. A simple you're stunning, love would have sufficed.

Mildly distracted by her new tactic, he stopped moving and looked down at her. He raised his eyebrow and asked, "What ARE you doing?" 'Cause he was curious and stuff.

What are you doing?

That was a good question, Ascanius. Too bad she wasn't answering. Nope, not a word. All the things she'd said to him just minutes ago basically went ignored so...nope, she wasn't gonna speak. She simply continued to blankly stare at him.

The shivering was getting a little stronger, but Penelope TRIED to control it. She was doing pretty good keeping her teeth from chattering, but she wasn't sure how long she could keep that up too. Hopefully long enough for him to get up, admit she'd won, and go inside with her to warm up. It was also the only way she was gonna willingly go in anyway - if she won. She'd stay out here long enough to catch a cold if it meant she'd win the snow fight.

But, y'know, hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

Earth to Pen. Was she going to respond at all or was he going to have to just lay here until she responded. 'Cause she was the one below him so the cold wasn't really affecting him all that much. Instead, he would just lay here and watch her. Eyebrow raise. Hmm?

But then, he started to feel a little shivering underneath him and he smirked. Was she shivering? Why yes she was, yeah? He could feel that and that meant that she was cold and that HE was awesome. Okay, her being cold didn't make him awesome; he had TONS of reasons why he was awesome.

Smirking at her WILDLY, he said, "Are you....COLD...Pen?" Yeah, she was, wasn't she? All she had to do was say yeah and they could move on from this and go inside. Easy.

MJ/Ethan.. fast forward towards end of term.. *breaths*

Minerva made her way down to the lake. She held the small basket in her hand and the blanket over her arm. Breathing in the spring air she stopped and looked around. It was a wonderful evening and she wasn’t sure why, but she felt nervous. The nerves made her laugh thinking about the first time she had nerves like this. Maybe that was why she did have them, she was wanting to recreate that very special first date that happened over two years ago.

Walking to the same spot she hoped she looked out of the lake. This seemed to be the location they sat last time. Standing there she smiled the memory of that first date going through her head. How so much had happened since then and how wonderful it all had been. Setting down the basket Minerva opened the blanket and laid it flat onto the ground. Since the last date was in the winter and this was spring she didn’t have to do a warming charm, hoping it was the only difference.

Sitting down on the blanket Minerva pulled out the small jars and with her wand placed the blue flames inside each of them. Setting them on each corner of the blanket. Next Minerva pulled out the food she had worked on this afternoon. She wanted the exact dinner they had on that first date. She just hoped she had gotten it all right. Pulling out the Sauerbraten , with sauerkraut, and potatoes. Minerva then set out the Black Forest Cake and Apple Pie. Looking at the blanket she smiled to herself. So far everything seemed perfect. The final thing she pulled out was a gift bag, a special item that was new to the first date scene. Setting the bag behind her, Minerva pulled out a small bundle of yellow flowers, still terrified to go near the gardens she had conjured them with her wand. . She knew you didn’t really get guys flowers, but it was part of that date and her plant boy would appreciate it, she hoped. Setting the flowers next to the bag.

Checking over blanket she went through the check list in her head. Making sure everything was perfect. It had to be perfect. He had done so many things for her in the past two years that she wanted to make one last special date for them before he left Hogwarts. Since the term had been so crazy and so many ups and downs, she decided to go ahead and do the date now instead of wait until the end. Frowning at this thought, she couldn’t believe he was almost done. He wouldn’t be here next term with her. Trying to push down the anxiety that this brought Minerva just thought about the evening.

Adjusting her heart necklace and then folding her legs beside her she flattened her dress. Then she looked out at the lake. It looked so pretty at the moment just as it did during that first date.

Oh, it seemed he'd noticed the shivering. Well, that was lovely, but he still wasn't saying what she wanted to hear. These questions were not gonna get him answers. The only thing she wanted to hear right now was "You win." Just two words, that's all she wanted. Two words and she'd talk to him again and they could have a good rest of the day drinking some hot chocolate.

As it was though, Penelope remained still aside from the shivering, and her eyes sorta blankly started focusing on the sky above him. Not really staring at him anymore like she usually would, so he couldn't be smug. Nope. The sky was better than your face right now, Ascanius.

But once he admitted she won, she'd suddenly realize his face was much nicer than the sky, and the cold was simply affecting her brain.

Checking his watch to make sure he was on time, Ethan made his way down to the lake to meet Minerva. He had been slightly surprised when she asked him to meet her for a date late that afternoon because it seemed to be more than just the casual hanging out they often did, but it was a pleasant sort of surprised and he jumped at the chance of spending some time with his girlfriend. And he refused to let his mind wander to the last time they had planned something special. No, he got the idea that this was something important to Min.. so it would be for him too.. and he was not going to let anything ruin it.. he would be focused on the present. He needed to.

Because it was a date, he wanted to bring her flowers, but he figured that wasn't a good idea right now.. so he let go of that traditional idea of a gentleman's decorum for today. Ethan wasn't sure what to expect with Minerva being a bit secretive, so he figured she had something planned and he showed up with only himself. Green eyes scanned the immediate vicinity as he walked and he spotted her in the near distance. Raising his arm to give her a wave, the boy headed in her direction.

He slowed down as he neared, his eyes taking in everything she had set out.. the blanket, the jars of bluebell flames, flowers, dinner. The sight looked so familiar and he couldn't help but let his mind wander back to their very first date. And was it in this exact location? He turned around briefly to view the lake.. yes, this seemed to be the same spot. Turning back around, he stepped closer to her, giving her a wide smile, and took a seat on the blanket next to her. "Hi.. this looks amazing." He gently picked up her hand in his and lifted it up to his lips, kissing the back of it. "What a great surprise.."

Minerva was sitting looking out at the lake thinking when she saw something move in the corner of her eye. She looked up to see Ethan coming towards her, she didn't know why but she felt her stomach flip with nerves. Why was she feeling nervous. They had been together over two years now. Her smile grew as she saw the look on his face, that was what she was going for. She hoped he would be surprised and like the surprise.

"Hi" She gave a simple greeting and smiled as he kissed her hand. Always such the gentlemen. "Do you like it? I.. well I've been actually planning this it for awhile." She hoped he liked it, maybe that's why she was so nervous, she wanted everything to be so perfect. So much had happened through out the term and she just wanted this to go well. She glanced around and touched the yellow flowers she had near the bag. "I tried to do everything exactly the same, only a few things are different. Of course no heat charm since winter is obviously not here and I still can't get myself to go near the greenhouses without a panic attack and you, so the flowers were conjured not cut."

She looked at the food and then back up at Ethan, "I hope my memory is doing alright. This was everything, wasn't it?" She knew that it really didn't matter, but she wanted everything to be right and the same. The first date and last at school mirroring each other it was bittersweet really.

Oh so now he was getting the silent treatment, was he? AND she wasn't staring at his beautiful face? Pfft, fine, whatever. He didn't care. Let her be cold and silent or whatever else she wanted to be because he was not moving. This was a battle and just 'cause she was cold did not mean he was gonna relent. Did she see this? It was his unrelenting face.

Punishment for her insubordination was as follows: he just wasn't going to move. Nope. He was gonna just lay here until she gave up and begged him to get off. Not a moment sooner 'cause he was in this to win it. Smirk.

Yeah, this was no joke.

See, the bad thing about having a snow fight with two extremely stubborn and competitive people was this - neither of them were willing to give up. Penelope was pretty sure she could be stubborn about this longer than him in any normal circumstance, but with the cold and wet snow really getting to her, they were probably about even right now. Still, this was definitely not the first time she was stuck outside in the cold, so she could deal. Even though all those other times didn't involve an Ascanius trying to crush her into the snow.

Eyes still on the cloudy grey sky - which kinda reminded her of his eyes...but she was NOT gonna look at them, nope - she finally decided to say something. "If I get sick from this, you have to take care of me." Just pointing that out. She was back to silence and keeping her focus on the clouds instead of his face.

She was speaking to him now? Jeez, it only took forever, but even that was not going to be a good enough response to get him to be moved TO move. Nope. Smirk. He was plenty enough occupied as it was laying right there. Until she gave up, of course. Then he'd be completely oblidged to get off of her. He could be rational, see.

So he just shrugged and smiled down at her in a VERY smug manner, "Fine. Still not getting up though."S'long as that was clear. You know?

Oh? Still not enough to make him get up? He was fine with taking care of a sick Penelope? Well, alright then. Maybe that was what it would take. And if she needed to get sick to win, then fine. Long as he took care of her, she could deal with it.

The snow under her back was basically all melted by now, she was sure, so now she felt grass poking her wet shirt. At least there was no more cold to go through...just what had already melted through her sweatshirt to her shirt. And the temperature was still ridiculously cold as well...and was that a cold wind blowing? Not that it really affected HER since Ascanius was blocking most of it from her, being above her and all, so that wasn't a big concern for her.

She was still shivering, and her eyes remained on the sky above him, but maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't have to deal with this too much longer, and she'd win...that thought kept her willing to just deal with the cold without moving.

Summer was here, okay? It wasn't anything like Saudi Arabia's summer, but at least it wasn't as cold as the winter either. So, Forrest was still wrapped in thick clothes, but at least he wasn't shivering and actually wanted to wander around.

So... wandering around and around. Alone. Wonderful.

Ronnie looked blankly up at the sky as she walked down to the lake. It was already getting warmer out which meant the end of term was getting nearer and nearer. Oh, Merlin. She hated the thought of it. The seventh year wasn't ready to leave, not yet...not ever...

As she walked, she didn't see where she was going and almost ran into a boy, nearly knocking him over. "Oh! I'm sorry. Are you okay?" she asked, looking at him with worry. Even though he hadn't fallen over...she had to check.

Ugh. Classic clumsy Ronnie.

Forrest didn't even notice someone passing TOO close by until he was suddenly in shadow and a gush of air hit him. He lifted his head to stare into the BIG girl's eyes as she apologised.

He nodded vigorously. He was okay.

"Your hair is beautiful." His mother had always advised him to point out the things he liked in other people and that there was nothing embarrassing in it, so... here you go, BIG girl. For your day to lighten up.

She bounced again, but this time it was to place a quick kiss on the boy.

Mo decided on no hints. It was too much fun stringing Cat along with non-hints and dragging her out the doors and across the grounds. About halfway across, Mo even stopped and urged Cat to piggyback ride the rest of the distance to the lake.

The lake, though. That was a little too cheesy, but it was the best spot other than the Room of Requirement, which was the MOST cheesy of them all. And Mo wanted very much not to be cheesy. Romantic was okay, but cheesy was not.

"Careful of Titus," Mo moved his jacked pocket away from Cat's knee as he bobbled her along the pebbled beach.

By the time they got outside, Cat was really beginning to wonder where they were going. Every time she thought they were going to stop somewhere, he kept going so she checked places off of her mental list. Though really, not knowing was much more fun than knowing anyway.

She settled her chin on his shoulder and tried to peek at Titus. "Are you having fun on your date, Titus? Also, did he like being in Mo's pocket? Hmm? She wanted to know these things. She nudged the boy. "So I'm not getting hints?" Obviously not if they had gotten this far without any.

"No hints for you, Caterina. We have to keep you guessing or you'll get bored with the Mo and Titus team." He hefted her higher before she slipped off his back and tried not to think about his hands. On her legs. What was this?

The turned a corner in the lake, revealing a nice sandy spot with a tree hanging out over the water. Mo (and Titus) had made a blanket pavilion from the tree with a little table and two chairs tucked inside. He'd transfigured them himself, just like he'd made the food himself, and cast up the fairy lights to make blanket-stars. Himself.

What if she thought it was baby stuff and rubbish? "So... Titus did all this. It's dumb, right?"

"Fiiiiiiiiine." Fine. She was just going to pout a little bit and thought about pinching him but like, her arms were around his neck and she wasn't keen on letting go and possibly slipping. So alright, she was just settling with a little pout.

However, once they finally arrived at their destination, Cat immediately started to grin and giggle, there was giggling happening. She bounced a little bit so that Mo would put her down and she could do real bouncing because she wanted to. "Shush, it's not dumb at all." Not the least bit dumb or silly, it was sweet and Cat liked sweet. She was still grinning, though he wouldn't get to see that until he put her down. "So Titus did this all for meee?" Awww.

"Yeah, it was Titus. I mean, I helped. I hung the lights and made dinner and put up the tent and transfigured the furniture." Not like he was bragging or anything. Mo scurried ahead of Cat to put up one side of the blanket tent so a nice breeze could blow through as they ate, and when he turned, he was delighted to see that Cat was smiling.

"I thought it might be cheesy," Mo admitted, wriggling his fingers at her to invite her to come sit with him. "Titus helped too, though. He remembered that you liked orange lilies." And there they were in a little glass of water on the table.

"That's on account of you think too much." Cat grinned at him some more and tugged on his bow tie before she stepped inside the blanket!tent. She paused to admire the lights and then she headed over to the boy and stole the bunny. THEN she sat down, Titus in her lap. This was his date, right? "I think Titus has a crush on me, doing all this stuff for me." It was obvious by now that Titus really meant Mo, right?

She put her purple lilies in with the orange ones and was delighted by the two together. "Now I can't say I've never gotten flowers." Funny how it turned out being him to give her flowers first.

"Your hair is beautiful." His mother had always advised him to point out the things he liked in other people and that there was nothing embarrassing in it, so... here you go, BIG girl. For your day to lighten up.

Her hair was beautiful? She blinked for a minute, taking in what he had just said. Then a smile slowly spread across her face and she looked down at the boy. "Y'know, you just made my day. And I thank you for that, you're real sweet." she told him. He seriously did. Thank Merlin she had run into him, actually. That was something she'd needed to hear today. "I'm Ronnie, by the way." she added, sticking her hand out towards him to shake.

"Thank you too." Gringringrin. Taking her hand, he said "Forrest." 'cos that's how those formal people did, right? Just the name and a polite nod? He couldn't keep up very serious though as his face soon broke into a grin. Because he was HAPPY today, see? HAPPY.

"Which grade are you?" He was even making conversation. Way to go.

Ethan looked around at the scene slowly again at her words. It all looked so familiar and he knew why. Looking back into her eyes, he smiled. "You've been planning this for a while..? Well.. this is just.. wow.." He was a bit awestruck and just didn't know what to say. It seemed that she was trying to recreate their first date which was just sweet and incredible. "Yeah, I love it.." He grinned back up at her before letting his eyes fall over the food. "Did you make all of this..?" He knew how time-consuming Sauerbraten was, not that he made it without elven assistance the first time, but he could tell she really went through a lot of effort for this.

His eyes then wandered to the bluebell flames, smiling a little at the memory and the mention of the heating charm. He remembered having to transfigure a napkin into a blanket since the common rooms were locked at the time. Then he frowned slightly at the mention of the greenhouse, hating that she was so traumatized. "Conjured or not, they really add the finishing touch, don't they?" he smiled a bit at her, wondering if she still had a hard time with them the flowers even if they were created with magic, but he appreciated this tremendous effort. "They were yellow last time too, weren't they?" He tried to picture them in his mind, thinking that they were since he had his reasons for picking them.

He looked all around at everything again, then back up at her, nodding thoughtfully. "I think so.. it's one of my favorite memories, you know.. and this just looks perfect." He smiled, feeling awfully nostalgic, and leaned over to kiss her cheek. "I love you, Min.. thanks for this." He still couldn't believe she had gone through all the trouble of recreating their first date.

"How does one think too much? Your brain just does what it does and why is it bad if it does what it does?" He gave Titus that jealous eye again before taking his seat too. "Titus, though... he definitely has a big crush on you. Biggest crush. It's embarrassing, don't you think? A nice girl like you with a goofy floppy-eared bunny like that? Tell him he has no chance."

And while she did that, Mo could take the covers off the plate of little sandwiches, the bowl with a fancy bean and noodle thing salad, and the bowl of fruit salad. "Lemonade?"

Cat just smiled all the while with the chairs and napkins and the Titus. She watched him and considered the question, "Alright, that's true, but still, some people's brains are like stuck on permanent overdrive." Or slid into it when said person was nervous and stuff.

She gave Titus a pat on his lil' bunny head. "His ears aren't so bad." She grinned and glanced back at the boy, "Seriously though, you did good. You know? This is the most effort anyone has ever put up for me. I love it." It was super sweet and she really hadn't been expecting all of it. Not that she hadn't expected Mo to be sweet, but this was a different level. And FOOD. Well, there had to be a moment of food appreciation, especially since it was part of the whole thing and Mo had done it himself.

"Yes please." She grinned ever on and on.

Mo poured them both drinks before dropping his chin into his hands and watching Cat just be... Cat. She looked happy and playful. She was nice. Like seriously nice. The kind of nice that extended beyond when people were looking or what was expected. And she didn't want to snog anyone but him right now. So basically...

She was perfect. Did she know, though? She didn't seem to know.

"I just wanted it to be real special is all," Mo shrugged both shoulders before sitting up again and carefully putting food on both their plates. "'Cause you deserved it to be real special. And you've had to wait, because Titus is so lazy when it comes to the romance department."

He perked up as if he'd suddenly had an idea. "Want to play a game?"

Lemonade was always a good idea and especially so when Mo brought it for date purposes. She had begun thinking about how long it took him to get all of this set up, but she didn't want to get him all blushy about it. So she just decided not to bring it up, yet anyway. But he knew, right? She'd said she loved it.

And he was watching her. Cat sipped lemonade and looked back at him curiously. She was pretty sure that his brain never stopped and she was sort of curious what he was up to. Fruit salad, yummy yummyyy. It went in her mouth. She glanced down at the rabbit in her lap and ruffled his ears. "S'Alright, Titus. You're still a good bunnyboy." Pat, pat, little love. "Besides, I didn't mind waiting." Truth. It was worth it and stuff. She grinned at the question, "I'm game for games."

And witty too, oh, so very witty.

Minerva's smile grew watching him look over the area and how he seemed to be in aww over everything she had done. The look on his face was exactly what she was hoping for. After the last few months and everything that had been going on. It was nice to get this chance to not only have one last date at Hogwarts before he graduated, but also to do something special to thank for not killing dumping her with most of the issues that happened. "I kind of had it in my mind all term, but started doing the planning for it right around Valentin.." She trailed off, not wanting to even bring that word up yet. Nope this was nice memories, first day nerves, excitement, and just them two. No need to bring up bad things.

"Did you wonder where I've been hiding the last two days?" She gave a small smile. Taking advantage of him being occupied studying for his NEWTs she had headed to the kitchen to prepare everything so she nodded, "Yeah I did make it all." So she really really hoped it was all good. Which he typically always enjoyed what she cooked or baked so Min wasn't to worried about that. Her eyes settled on the flowers she shuddered just slightly at them, but her smile never left her face. "They do and yes they were yellow last time." She wouldn't forget that, because it was the first time flowers were given to her by a boy and by a boy she was so nervous about that she had so much trouble keeping her composure.

Blue eyes looking into his green she tilted her head with a curious grin. "One of your favorite memories?" Not that it was odd, because she loved the memory of their first date and she had her reasons why it was such a great date to her, but she wondered why it was for him. Being that she was so nervous that evening she was just glad she remembered any of it. Her goofy love struck smile went across her face with his appreciation and kiss on the cheek. "I love you too E.. and this.. well I just really wanted to do something special for you since.. " no tears.. no sadness Min come on.. "Well since it's close to being it for you here. Plus with everything you have done for me this term even with my arguing and not listening you still pressed on about everything."

Pulling out the dinner ware she handed him over a plate. "Oh and here." She pulled out an espresso, yes it was colder for the first one, but she knew Ethan and knew he would have that drink no matter the weather. "Hope your hungry.." She winked knowing that was never usually an issue either.

Game for games. Hehe. Mo flipped both his hands upright on the table, half a move to show he wasn't up to anything in particular with this game, and half to offer them to Cat for holding. Even though holding hands was not a great idea when there was food to eat. Unless she wanted to just not eat with her hands. Faceplant in the plate?

"So it's not really a game, I guess. I mean there aren't rules. But I learned a couple of words in Italian, and I figured you could tell me if I said them right. And if I didn't, you can tell me the right way. Okay?" Hehe, he'd been practicing words with the stupid dictionary, but his pronunciation was probably terrible.

She figured that food could be put on hold for a little while if there was something else happening. Cat walked her fingers across one of his hands and grinned. She was pretty flattered that he had taken initiative to learn Italian on his own. She had taught him a few words, but apparently he knew more.

"Okay." She was ready to hear what he had been working on. "Give it your best shot, Branxton."

Whew, okay. Time for the game. Mo made a biiiiiiig production out of rolling out his shoulders and cracking his knuckles before leaning forward once again, chin on his fist. His smile was winsome, since he thought he was being very clever, and he thought Cat agreed.

"So first..." he pointed at Titus. "[i]Coniglio.[/]" Easy one. Rabbit. Titus-bunny. "And... panino." He pointed to the sandwich on his plate before stuffing it into his mouth. Romantical.

Cat paid close attention to his silly little display and shook her head. He was very proud of his words, she could tell, and she thought it was delightful. She sipped lemonade and listened to his two words. "Wonderful." not hard words, no but it was definitely the thought that counted.

"If you can talk about food, you'll survive a conversation with any one of my relatives. Especially my brothers." So that was a victory. "More?" This was a good game. MORE WORDS.

Mo grinned broadly at her praise, and since he was impatient, he decided to jump right to the point of the game. Winner take all. He slid his hand over hers and flipped up Cat's palm so that it lay flush against his. Just like holding hands in the most passive possible way.

Still looking at her hand, he carefully sounded out the slightly mangled phrase, "Vuoi essere la mia ragazza?" It had taken him ages to look up, practice, and memorize, and he'd been ridiculously proud as he started the question. By the end, though, he felt sweaty and stupid and wrong again.

She might say no. He might be making a big mistake. He might have just ruined everything. Still, he offered a jittery smile to Cat and squeezed her hand.

She'd been expecting more words, single ones like he'd said before. But she certainly wasn't expecting him to come out with a full sentence. She was more shocked by the fact that he HAD than over what he said. It definitely didn't set in right away, for that very reason.

But then her mind caught up with the words and her super impressed smile slipped a little bit. She hadn't meant to look at him for so long after that question, she really hadn't, but she was still thinking in Italian. Answering inside your head, Caterina, is not enough. She started to grin again. "Sì." GRIN.

She didn't answer for a really long time, and Mo worried first that he'd said it wrong.

And then that she didn't want to be.

When she finally smiled at him, Mo almost cried about it, he was so twisted up with worry. Instead, he pulled her hand to his mouth and laid a polite little kiss on the back of her hand. Just... seemed the thing to do at the moment.

"I'm going to be a really good boyfriend to you, Caterina. And it won't get ruined, ok? And you tell me if there's a spatula occurrence, and I'll fix it. And I should kiss you right now, right?"

Cat really hadn't meant to make him wait like that and she sort of felt bad about it too, but he knew, she told him that she would say yes. Besides, he didn't like have a heart attack or anything, so that was always a good thing.

She had absolutely no doubt that he would, she never ever believed him when he told her he was no good at it. Obviously he was if he did all of this. "No ruining." She agreed with that too. "You'll be good and so will I." Ya know, she was good at girlfriending, as good as a teenager could be, anyway. Cat just kept on smiling because that was mostly what she did when she was around Mo, so she didn't question it. She did, however, touch her cheek with her free hand. "I think you should kiss my cheeks, they're doing that hurting thing again."

Also, no spatulas, but that might be inevitable.

"We're so cheesy," Mo shook his head ruefully, although he wasn't too afraid of being cheesy that he wasn't willing to stand and pull Cat to her feet by that hand he was still holding. He kissed her lightly - one cheek, the other cheek, and then the tip of her very pretty little nose.

"You should eat your food before I decide I'm too hungry to share," Mo decided as he let Cat go and took a seat again. And now that the asking was done, and his heart hadn't exploded from it, and he was ridiculously proud of himself, NOW he was hungry and didn't want to worry over things at the moment.

"You can teach me some more Italian, though. I already know French, so I bet I'm a quick study. And then we can pass notes in Italian, and it will almost be like code."

"Yeah, well." Cat shrugged. It couldn't be helped, right? Cheesy or not, it didn't matter either because it wasn't like she was going to be asking anyone's opinion.

"I'm trying to." She started, gathering up Titus again and sitting back down. "But you just keep on distracting me." True facts too, though Cat hardly sounded like she minded that one little bit. She tore off a little bit of bread and offered it to the rabbit in her lap, did he want? Hmmmmmm? "I will, if you want. It would impress my parents like a million times over if you spoke Italian with them." Cat looked back up and grinned a little mischievously. "Will you teach me French? Then we can write half in French and half in Italian."

Yeah, it was cold. He'd admit that because, well, it was and it wasn't going to deny it. But it still wasn't enough to get him to move. Ever. 'Cause he was in this to win it and......

......was that the grass? Jeez, how long had they been in the snow that they had sunk through it? No wonder her teeth were chattering and stuff. Jeez.

Ahem, so she was really cold then. And she was doing the stubborn Pen thing because SHE wanted to win. Ugh, but that wasn't fair. He had the upper hand. He had won and she needed to just deal. Pfft. S'was the rules.

And so he just looked down at her and sighed, "You'll wait out here all night, yeah?". That wasn't a question. Nope. He knew her. That was just the straight up truth.

Carving the runes (Post 5)

Heeeeeeeeeeey, lookit! She finally got around to stopping by the lake! She'd been meaning to stop by here and now she had...too bad she still needed to finish carving her runes. Only four left, that wasn't so bad. She could do this then head back for some ice-cream. That was good at any time of the day.

She took a seat right by the edge of the lake and got out the book again. Only four. Not so bad. She'd be over with this before she knew it.

LAGUZ!!! THIS ONE!! The first riddle in their maze!!! She didn't know the answer but everyone else did and that kinda made up for it so she wouldn't complain. She GRINNED down at the rune, kinda like it could see her if her cheeks spread far enough. Useful as a symbol of water, of transitions between states, e.g., birth, life, growth and death. It is a perfect means for building an oath. Uh-huh...no idea what that was saying but that never stopped her before! On to carving!!!

"Itaglio laguz laguz laguz."

That looked good. NEXXXXTTT! Ingwaz. There we go. Right back to the runes she didn't know. Though if she was being honest, that was most of them, wasn't it? To gather people or to influence them. It can be used to establish dedication and loyalty, the "we" of a group. Okay, she had to admit, this one was kinda cute. She liked it. It would be a nice addition. "Itaglio ingwaz ingwaz ingwaz"

TWO MORE TO GO!!

Dagaz...and this one was...It is a good luck charm, and can also be used to advance one's station in life. It is helpful for spiritual advancement and understanding. It is an expression of universal love. Meh, nothing special but who caaared, she was almost done!! "Itaglio dagaz dagaz dagaz."

Eeep!!! Almost done!!

Othala? What the kneazle? That wasn't even a legit word! Again, she wouldn't complain. Nope, this was the last one!! This is a rune of merchants, but also the land-holding nobles and both classes in which inheritance, property and goods play a key role. It thus aids in partnerships, whetehr those of business, politics, or marriage. She was fine with this up until marriage...just saying.

Ahem. Carving. "Itaglio othala othala othala." EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!! DONE!!! YEEESSS!

Mo kept adding sandwiches to Cat's place as she ate them. His point of reference when it came to women were his sisters and Alice, and all three ate like it was their job. Surely Cat would keep eating until there wasn't food. And if she didn't... well. Lesson learned.

Mo snagged the last sandwich and ate it himself. "I'm very distracting," Mo agreed. "And I will definitely teach you French. I bet I'm a great teacher with a student like you." Pretty and interesting and clever. And if it impressed her parents... all the better. Who knew that impressing parents was now one of the expectations placed on Mo's life? "Lemonade?"

So cold. At this point, that was all that was on her mind - besides winning - even though she tried to focus on other things to keep her mind off it. It would be easier to deal with the cold if she didn't think about it, after all. But no matter what she did, it just kept coming back every time she was even briefly aware of her shivering. Merlin, she wasn't sure how long she could really last, but she wasn't gonna stop pushing herself...

"P- P- Prob- b- bably..." Merlin, and now it was even so bad she couldn't talk without stuttering...keeping her mouth shut had been a better idea. Penelope wasn't sure she'd even last to the night, and they'd get in some serious trouble for staying out here late if they did, but that didn't bother her too much. Not as long as she won.

He could feel her entire body SHAKING up against his sort of vigorously. Penelope was freezing and she was just going to do her usual stubborn crap and pretend that she wasn't. Hey, he could FEEL how cold she was so why wouldn't she just GIVE up? 'Cause he wasn't going to back down. Boo hoo. He was a bad boyfriend or whatever, but he was winning this.

"Pen, you're shaking." It was more of a statement then a concerned question. 'Course he was worried about her well being, but she wanted to be difficult and stubborn and he wasn't going to lose. Nope, nope. So they were at an impasse. Unless, of course, she gave up. WHICH he welcomed.

She was shaking? Well thank you, Captain Obvious, she TOTALLY hadn't even noticed. "S-S-So? D-D-D-Doesn't really matter." Nope, all that mattered to either of them, apparently, was winning right now. Which was understandable. Winning was fun. Way better than losing. Also better than shivering and getting sick from the cold...but it was a sacrifice she was willing to make to win this...snow fight?

Yeah, that was what it had been. It seemed like forever now since they were just throwing snow at each other. How long had they lain here like this anyway? Not that it really mattered, but she was a little curious. And it was slightly taking her mind off trembling because of the cold. Mind over matter, and all that.

COME ON PEN. Yield. Give up. Do something besides just laying in the half melted snow/grass and give stilted answers. It was annoying and her shivering sort of KIND of made him feel badly. Like he was being a bad person. A bad person who wanted to WIN, mind you.

Also, her cold stutter was getting bad too, which meant it was time to just give in and such. Please? He would never say that out loud, but it was in his eyes along with the burning desire to kick her butt and win. Epic snow tackle of '81. This was history in the making.

Sighing dramatically he pulled out the pout and asked, "Can't you just give up? So you don't get ill." AND so he could have bragging rights. That mostly.

Since she was finally looking away from the sky and back at his face, Penelope could tell from his expression that he really wanted her to give it up. But he was gonna be disappointed because she absolutely refused to do anything of the sort. She'd held out this long, there was no way she was giving up now.

And the pout and dramatic sigh was cute, but still not enough to force her to give up.

"Th-Th-Then I'd b-b-b-be ill AND a l-l-loser." And that was not how she wanted this to end. The getting ill seemed inevitable now, so the least she could do was win and make the sickness more bearable. Getting sick and STILL losing was not a nice combination though. Worse than yogurt tacos.

SPOILER!!: Minerva

Green eyes lifted from the flowers and blue flames to look back at the girl in front of him. "All term?" Ethan took another glance around again, smiling a bit as he gently ran his fingers over the flower petals. He was very touched that this had been on her mind for so long and she had planned out every detail. He looked back up as she trailed off. Right.. Valentine's Day. He didn't want to think too much of that day. It still upset him that not only their date was ruined but also a day that held such importance to them. But maybe this would make up for that. "It looks like you went through a lot of trouble to make this just right.." Hopefully not too much for her, but it was so thoughtful of her to recreate this.. and he settled in next to her as memories started to drift through him.

He looked up with a smirk as she said something about hiding. "This is what you were doing? I guess I had been a little preoccupied with my studying.. and I figured you had other things to do.." he trailed off, still appreciative of the fact that she used that time to do something nice for him.. well, them. His eyes fell on the Sauerbraten again, knowing full well that it took two days to prepare.. which was probably the reason he never learned to make that particular dish himself. That in itself told him of the effort she went through, though perhaps it was his own fault in having it the first time. "I'm sure it's all going to be great," he said with a smile. Had she ever cooked him something he didn't like? He didn't think so.. but he was especially looking forward to this for some reason. His eyes wandered over to the flowers for a moment as they were mentioned. Wow, she really did have a good memory.. or maybe the day had been as special to her as it became to him.

Ethan nodded as she questioned him about their first date being one of his favorite memories. "Well.. yeah.." he admitted, slightly surprised. "There was something about that night. Everything just seemed so perfect." He guessed he couldn't quite describe it. He remembered at the time wanting to make it really special for her whether they progressed in any kind of relationship beyond that first date or not. Smiling a bit bigger, he added," I think somehow I knew that it was the start of something special." Not to mention that first kiss that he had never forgotten. His green eyes looked into her blue ones as she explained her reasoning, then he nodded a bit, looking down. "That's just.. really sweet of you, Min.." Bittersweet, really.. he was very touched by how she pulled all this together just for him, but this really probably was the last time they'd do something like this here. He had tried so hard to ignore those types of thoughts all term, but the end was so close, he could see it looming on the horizon. He couldn't really ignore it anymore. And everything he had done.. He gave her a sad, small smile at those words. "Well.. it's just that I care so much. It's worth it for me to fight for you." Even if this term had been so torrential, he could never stand by when he knew how much she needed him.. even if at times she didn't know herself. Shrugging, he added in a small voice, "I'd like to think if the situation were reversed that you'd do the same for me." But he knew that would be asking a lot.

He tried to push those thoughts aside because he really wanted to enjoy this day, not think about difficult things, and he happily accepted a plate. "Looks great.. thanks." Oh, an espresso, too? She really didn't forget anything.. He grinned as he took the cup from her and took a sip, before digging into his meal. Yes.. he was rather hungry and this just seemed perfect..

Minerva couldn't help but smile at his shock. Well she hadn't been doing fine detail planning all term, but the thought of this was in her head since the beginning and it just grew stronger as the term went on. He deserved something special for the end of his Hogwart days and she hoped that she could help with that. Glancing around again as she dished out the food on his plate. "It was no trouble and even if it was you are worth it." She said matter a fact, because she didn't bat an eye doing all this for him. There was no thinking involved well there was thinking but not if it was to much work.

As she placed some of the food on her own plate she looked up at him and smiled, "I guess I took advantage of your studies to do this." She knew he was working hard on studying for his NEWTS when he was able to break from drama going on around the school. Frowning a bit, "How is the studying going?" If he didn't do well she was going to blame herself for putting him through so much stress this term. How was he going to study when most of the term he was dealing with her.

He thought their first date was perfect, Minerva couldn't help but aww at him with those words. "It was the perfect first date, wasn't it. Well minus the rambling nerves." She chuckled a bit at the thought. Something special.. It was special wasn't it.. amazing. "Well maybe Professor Elwood should see if you have a gift, because I think this has been very true. " She hoped it would be true for a very long time even though a frown started as she thought about him not being there next term. What if things like this term happened while she was alone. Trying to get those thoughts out of her head she looked back up and bit her trembling lip. She had cried so much lately she didn't want to do it now. No she was good at faking happy when needed, she needed it now, even though she was happy, but sad at the same time. Oh her damn emotions she hated them.

Blue eyes softened looking up at him and her trembling lip had tears that followed. He would fight for her and he proved that so many times this term. She took his hand and squeezed it. " I love you so much Ethan." She knew she could spend a life time trying to live up to everything he did this term and it wouldn't be enough. All the protecting and taking care of she had to have drove him mad at times. Then when she heard his soft words she couldn't help but sit his plate to the side and put her arms around him. "I would and will do anything for you. Don't ever question that." She didn't want him to have any doubts.

She looked back at the bag and picked it up. She was going to wait until later, but maybe this would show him how much he truly meant to her. "I had gotten you a few things for like a graduation gift I guess you could call it." She handed him the bag. In the bag is a letter as well. After handing the items to him, Min picked up her plate and took a few bites trying to keep her emotions under control. It was such a hard moment to realize he was so close to being done and she had a full term left in front of her.

Jeez, Pen. Give it UP! He wanted to win and had even pulled out the big guns- the pout. What more did she want from him so that he could win and they could call this a day because it was starting to get to HIM, the cold, and he wanted to WIN. His girlfriend was being a pain. Stubborn Gryffindor.

And then when she spoke he got even more frustrated. It was as if she was purposefully doing this just to make it harder for him. Sure, winning was one thing but the level that Pen was taking it too was extreme and he did not want to give in. At the same time..........she was cold. Really cold and he felt rotten. Just not even to lose.

So with a BIGGER pout he tried to reason with her logically, "Please?"

It was almost funny to Penelope how he clearly wasn't happy about her being stubborn about this, but HE was doing the exact same thing. He could have sympathy on his shivering girlfriend, but noooo, winning was more important than her health. Just like it was for her right now but that was beside the point, ahem. It was easy to be a stubborn Gryffindor when there was an equally stubborn Slytherin around. Heh.

"Wh-Why don't y-y-YOU give up then?" The cold and shivering made her immune to giving in to the pout right now - although it was STILL really cute - so she continued to question him, even managing a little bit of a smirk. "If m-m-my health is r-r-really th-that imp-p-ortant to you..." Hmmmm?

"Cause I don't wanna," he said with a smirk and felt his coolness, NOT the actual cold because that was a constant, return to him. He was not going to give up, no matter how cold she was because he didn't want to. There was no way that he was gonna give her the victory 'cause she got all merciless about it. Yeah, so no way he was giving up. Ever. Smirk.

With his pout gone, he started to play with her hair a little 'cause they were gonna be there a while and he liked her hair. A lot. S'nice.

As for the guilt trip, didn't work. Not a bit. Yeah, he cared about her health, but he cared about winning. And if he measured those...well...he wanted to win. Yeah? So she just got a wink and nothing else. No words.

He didn't wanna? Well, fine, she didn't wanna either, soooo... "L-L-Looks like we'll b-b-be here all d-day and night then." Unless he gave in, which she was SURE he would eventually. If not for her health, then for his. Why? Because he was probably gonna be wanting a kiss soon. She hadn't kissed him at all during the fight and it had gone on for awhile, so he was surely gonna realize that soon. BUT she wasn't gonna give him a kiss until he gave up and got off of her. So HA.

With that in mind, Penelope watched him as he winked and started playing with her probably slightly wet from melted snow hair. She was still shivering, still smirking, but now also waiting for the moment that she was sure would occur eventually.

Her hair was a mess. S'was really pretty, but, yeah, a mess of course because it was knotty and wet and they had been here for a WHILE. So getting back around to what he wanted- she should give up. Snowball fights needed to end in HIM winning, which was okay with him, yeah? And now he was getting bored. Starting to feel like he was in one of Glitter!Trousers classes. Aka, he was really booooored.

Could they wrap this up please? By her, yeah, giving up. That was the only way.

And then she was doing her own smirk. Wasn't as well practiced or attractive as his, 'cause he was real nice to look at-- it was the jaw-- BUT it was cute. In its own way. Hmmm.

He wanted a kiss now.

JEEZ, PEN! GIVE UP!

No more replies? That was fine. It was getting hard to really talk anyway, and she hated the stuttering that she couldn't really prevent because of the cold. It made it sound even worse than it already was.

She was really bored too by the way. Bored and cold. How long HAD they been out here? She was really curious, only because she didn't have much else to think about besides being cold and tired and wanting him to just GIVE UP and lose like a gentleman or whatever he was.

And because she was bored, she looked away from his face - yeah, how you feel about that Mr. I'm-So-Attractive? Smirk - and noticed the snow that was still nearby and around them. Right. There WAS snow everywhere else. Only the snow under her had really melted...the rest was fine...and she had a free hand...

Hmmmmm.

"Wh-What if it w-w-was a t-t-t-tie?" Throwing that idea out there. Just to see what he thought. She much preferred winning, but a tie was also better than losing/giving up, and she figured he might think so too. But maybe not. He did have a knack for surprising her a lot of the time.

And if that was the case, she might have her own surprise up her sleeve.

For Syd

Jory headed down tot he Lake, humming a random tune. It was one he made up and really he wasn't all that proud of it. He thought it was a bore. Anyway, he continued to hum as he sat down on one of the big rocks which over looked the Lake. With him was a container of ice cream. Not for himself but for Ronnie who was supposed to be joining him soon.

The seventh year glanced at his watch. Maybe he could catch a nap after this? He was very tired as he had stayed up later than usual studying for NEWTs. Trying not to yawn too much, Jory kept a look out for Ronnie.

Charms Homework, post #1. Also, for my Roudy ♥

Blue, was going all out for her best friend. Why? Because she loved her to bits, that's why. Well, she did but the reason she was going to such effort was because it was homework after all. By all out, it just meant she'd picked a nice spot by the lake on some grass that didn't look scratchy. The fourth year sat the two bowls of ice cream carefully before flopping down and crossing her legs.

All she had to do now was WAIT and she was hardly the most patient witch in Hogwarts.

Blue reached out and pulled over the bowl that had slightly more than the other. She figured she'd get bored waiting for Cassia to finish her ice cream if she wolfed down hers so she just...mashed it up to keep her occupied till the snakette arrived.

Ice cream soup.

.......Luuuuuurve-ly.

The weather was cool...like literally and she had nothing else to do. Actually, she did. But would you rather do homework and boring stuff or go eat ice-cream with your bestie. Needles to answer that question. Pfffft. The snake, left the common room and headed out to the grounds swinging her bag as she skipped there. Was she late? She hoped not.

As she neared the lake, Cassia spotted a familiar figure and picked up her pace. Somehow she had thought that she'd get there because her common room was closer!

Or maybe not.

Was Blue mashing the ice-cream. O_O She wasn't that late. "That's mine!" She said plopping down and picking up the other non-mashed bowl of ice-cream. Unless Blue was mashing it for her. "Sorry got a little bit late," She said bringing her bowl up and crossing her legs then placing the bowl on her knee. "Having a bad hair day," She said with a siiiiigh. Yeah, it was very important and Blue would understand that.

"How's it going?" She asked before dipping her spoon in the bowl.

Ethan gave Minerva an appreciative smile as he accepted the plate. He knew it had to have been quite a bit of work to pull together but he was very thankful that she did it. It made the day even more special.. not that he really wanted her to go through a lot of trouble. "Well, this all is just very sweet," he said with the hint of a grin. Though that was just like her..

He knew he had at least been trying to spend more time studying with his exams right around the corner, which made it even more sweet that she had spent that time planning this dinner for them instead of just hanging out with some of her other friends that he was sure he took her away from. He shrugged a little at the question. He didn't want to worry her, but the truth was that he was having a more difficult time studying for these particular exams than he did for his OWLs for some reason. "It's going alright, I guess," he admitted. "A little slower going than I'd like, but it's getting there." He was often having difficulty focusing and he supposed that was why it seemed to be taking him longer to get through certain subjects to feel like he knew them well enough to be tested on.

Ethan allowed a nostalgic smile to form on his lips as he thought about their first date. "Well.. I did enjoy the nerves as well, I think. You were just so cute about everything.." He always did seem to like how nervous she could be around him, not in a bad way really, but that playful sort of tension there was sort of fun. He chuckled a bit as she mentioned the Divination professor. "I don't know that I have any sort of gift for sight.. but I do think that much has come true at least.."

His smile began to falter a bit as he noticed her beginning to tear up. "Oh.. don't.." he started, then smiled a bit as she squeezed his hand. He could see she was being sentimental and he was definitely feeling that way too, with memories of their first date surfacing and thoughts of how much they would always really be there for each other.. or at least he hoped. "I love you, too.." He hugged her back, holding her against him for a moment, as she wrapped her arms around him. Smiling at her words, he nodded. "I know you would.. I do know that.." Even with some of the fights they had, Ethan knew deep down that she really was his biggest supporter and would do pretty much anything for him.

Green eyes landed on the bag as she picked it up, then he looked back curiously at her as she handed it to him. "This is for me? Oh.. you didn't need to get me anything.." But he smiled a little, thinking how sweet it was, as he peered inside. First he pulled out a letter, which he began to read. Wow.. this was really just touching.. Once he finished reading, he looked back at her with a bit of awe in his eyes. "Min.. I.. don't even know what to say.. this is really.." He looked back down at the letter for a moment, then back up at her. "This really means a lot to me.. thanks." Other than that, he was just sort of speechless.

Ronnie walked down to the lake a frown upon her face. It had been so weird how last night she had went to happy from the ice cream toppings party to suddenly depressed after eating it...then she had fought dementors who had been in the common room. She had barely got any sleep that night and wasn't really in a great mood today. But maybe Jory could change that. He always made her happy and it felt like she hadn't really seen him in a few days. Which she didn't like!

She came up from behind and wrapped her arms around him, and stood on her tippy toes so she could kiss his cheek. "Hey, handsome." she said with a smile.

Jory was now trying to remember some information on Polaris. He had not studied Astronomy last night but he was just trying to see if he could remember anything off the top of his head. One thing for sure, he knew it was the brightest star. Frowning, he tried to remember more but was suddenly aware of something around him. He was being squished! Aaaaah! Squirming, he tried to break free. That is until he felt the kiss on his cheek and heard her greeting. Oh. It was only Ronnie.

Feeling utterly foolish and flushing he turned to face his girlfriend. "Hey, Angel!'' he said, returning the kiss. "How are you?'' He looked closely at her. "Is everything alright?'' he asked with concern. She looked a bit...down. And around her eyes were a tad dark. Would ice cream cheer her up?

Jory grabbed the container he brought. "For you, my lady,'' he said with a grin.
