[ SPOILER!!: Bee! Dylan heard her telling him to leave...but no. He wasn't going to do that. She looked really upset...and that would've been crappy on his part, right? He was the boyfriend. He was meant to make it all better... Oh....and she had pulled her wand. The Slytherin Captain eyed her...and then the wand for several minutes. Bee totally looked like she meant business as she stood there...It gave Dylan an idea. A brilliant one if you considered things...The two of them could duel. It was interesting because Dylan had never dueled the Ravenclaw before...Oh, he had to do it now...but would she agree? "Duel me..." He offered. |
Was the boyfriend looking for trouble? Beezus just stared at him for a few moments, her teeth grinding. If it was someone else, she would've immediately hexed them off then and there, but it was Dylan so she was listening....and trying to lessen the glares. It wasn't entirely working but she was trying. Hearing his offer, she rubbed her face and sighed. She was angry at things and now Dylan wanted to duel with her? She could say no......but she didn't. She could still let out her anger if she agreed to duel with him, and Dylan's presence kept her calm so she deemed it wasn't such a bad idea. But...."Babe, I'm not in the mood. I don't want to hurt you." |
SPOILER!!: Bee! Dylan eyed her facial expressions closely, amused that she was trying so hard not to be angry with him. That was new, of course. Any other time, the Ravenclaw absolutely loved giving him mean looks and sassy comments. It only further proved to the Slytherin that something was, indeed, wrong...but what? He hadn't done anything....lately.....that she could be mad about....So, it definitely wasn't him... ...and had she JUST said that? Dylan squinted at his girlfriend, trying not to be distracted by how beautiful she was standing there, even with that sour look on her face. Was it rude to DREAMY SIGH right now...Could the Captain just fanboy his girlfriend a moment? "That's utterly ridiculous. You aren't going to hurt me..." To give her some incentive, he also pulled his wand....waving it casually. "I want to do this for you. It'll get your mind off of whatever's bothering you."...which he WOULD be finding out later, in case she was curious and didn't know. Dylan had ways of learning the information he wanted to know...He waved his wand at her again...."You won't have to hold back. I can take it." |
SPOILER!!: Dylan! More so when he pulled out her wand too. Her own hold on her wand tightened and she snorted at him. She didn't want to get mad at him, because for once....he wasn't causing her distress. Yes...for once, he was innocent. And Beezus knew he wasn't going to stop until she agreed, so once again, she was letting him have his way despite the weight of things. Besides, she'd never dueled him before and this didn't seem like a bad idea, remember? She might get over her unpleasant mood faster this way too. "Fine. I'm not going to hold back, okay? You're asking for this." She waved him off and stepped away a distance from the dummies - it wouldn't be too nice to include them, yea? "Come on." She gestured for him to follow....and quick because you know, she still wanted to go by the rules no matter how upset she was. There were still dueling strips to be done before she could start firing spells at him. So....hurry up, Cap't. |
SPOILER!!: Bee! ....And THAT'S how you get a Beezus to give in. BAM. She was agreeing and all Dylan could do was grin at her. Ugh....her face. He really loved her face. "If you held back, I wouldn't know you." Seriously...Bee was a vicious girl and that was why she and Dylan worked so well together. He got her....and she got him. People would never understand all the things. He followed her back, though....and went through the motions of bowing...and then taking steps away from her...Etiquette. They'd studied this in class...and Dylan hadn't forgotten. Of course Beezy would be going by the book on this. Ravenclaw girlfriend was a Ravenclaw. He turned to face her, wand ready. Let it begin. |
SPOILER!!: Dylan! And so, they were to start now yes? Beezus pursed her lips together, raised her wand...playing an intense flame on the gaze that she was giving her Slytherin. She'd been long frustrated with....things........she needed to vent it all out....in a combat-y way. "Confringo!" |
SPOILER!!: Beezy! Of course she'd went for the 'Blasting Curse'. Of course...What was it with girls trying to blow him up lately? First Alice....and now Bee? Dylan wasn't too put off by it, though. This was a duel and a certain level of viciousness would settle around the both of them soon enough. It was just the way they were. They were a passionate pair. Passionate pair was passionate! The Slytherin quickly cast "PROTEGO!", doing that upward flick motion with his wand and negating the attack. It hit the barrier and vanished...causing the Snake in his to smirk. That had been too easy..."Babe, don't hold back..." His turn! Getting his focused face on, Dylan narrowed his eyes in concentration. Total concentration and focus. Yep...He was picturing the effects of what he was trying to do...Sneezing. The Captain was going to cast a spell that would force Beezy to have a sneezing attack...ULTIMATE DISTRACTION STRATEGY...He could clearly see the spell hitting her and causing these effects...Focus, focus, focus.... Steleus! Had it worked?! Dylan was trying this new thing with non-verbals...and he'd felt his magic tense and release...and he'd seen the tale-tell green rings spirally from his wand tip! It might have appeared like a success...but that didn't mean it was strong enough to do the deed. Was it?! |
SPOILER!!: Dylish! And mind you, she wasn't going to hold back nor did she have plans to. "I'm not---" What in Merlin's beard...? Green things were coming up at her. Crapshootdamn! Too late to run or even make any more movements. It hit her....and the next thing she knew..."Achoo!" SNEEZE! UGH UGH UGH. Not cool, Captain....not cool! Pushing her eyebrows together in deep concentration, Beezus narrowed her eyes at Dylan with attitude and focused hard. All her frustration were going down on this duel....and she was going to feel better after this, she was telling herself that as she took a step forward, gathered up her magic in her wand and yelled out loud, "Flipendo!" She went about at and struck up its corresponding wand movement of course. She SAW the blue light on the tip of her wand turned purplish somewhat and that's when she fired the spell at him. Fly backwards, Dylan.....fly backwards. Did it work though? SNEEZE. She wasn't sure....and she was not going to find out just yet because in the next moment, she had flicked her wrist and downed another spell. "Anteoculatia!" A deer!Dylan, please? |
SPOILER!!: Bee! SUCCESS. Dylan may or may not have paused to do a little victory dance in which he'd momentarily gotten distracted. So, yea...That violent Flipendo! Beezus had just slung his way? It hit the Slytherin straight in the chest...sending him sailing backwards in a massive ball of blonde hair and black robes. Luckily, he did have the presence of mind to case a weak cushioning charm on the floor before landing...He couldn't remember if it already had one in place... Dylan still landed hard, though, his head knocking back against the floor. Stars erupted in front of his eyes...and he had to blink several times before he could actually SEE again... However, he did HEAR her shouting the second spell...and seeing or not, Dylan whipped his wand around, upward-flicking, not needing to see to cast another "PROTEGO!" Merlin...his head... Evasive action first...He concentrated his energy...pounding head and all. Focusing on the shield he was about to perform...because he'd need it to be strong...just until he could get himself right...Dylan blearily looked across the way to Beezus, groaning. "...............Good one...." His tone was painted with his pain and discomfort. ...and then there was zig-zag motions...and the Slytherin Captain was tossing up magic up around him. "Impiriano!" With the utterance of the spell, it was like a glove had fitted over his skin, contouring to fit his form perfectly. Now...he could continue... Ugh...."Redactum Skullus!" Yea, non-verbals were out. His head was KILLING him... |
SPOILER!!: Dylightful! The questions were kinda answered when he casted the Shield Charm. He still looked able...but groaning? And commending her? Yeah....he seemed okay. But she was getting worried and was actually about to voice our her thoughts about his well-being when he performed the Impiriano spell. Beezus got ready then and anticipated a counterattack, hence, she was quick in building up a barrier to protect her from the head-shrinking hex. "Protego Duo." She uttered whilst her hand did most of the work for the complicated wand movement. Holding it up, she snorted at Dylan. Really, really now? "Redactum Skullus? Are you kidding me?" Did he want a girlfriend with a head the size of a golf ball? Hmp. Heh. But they were still in progress. She quickly thought of a new strategy since the knocking him back seemed a little....dangerous. She still was a caring girlfriend eventhough her frustrations were summing up now. Ravenclaw brain working, she had an idea......and hopefully, she could get in a combo if she was fast and efficient enough. Her wand went into the air, "Dylan, do NOT move. .....Colloshoo!" See how caring she was? She even warned him beforehand. |
Text Cut: Shifty Lex. No really, she probably should go and get something for Lex or maybe they should just go to the kitchens have soup what were they doi----- !!!!! Another pause and blinking. The snake shook her head then looked back at the lioness before her. She gave her a suspicious long look. As long as she could manage before her OWN best friend was about to make her unable to speak. NO FREAKING WAY! "Protego!" She shouted flicking her wand upward. HA! How evil, how could she remove the curse once her tongue was glued to her the roof of her mouth. She then would have to wait for Miss Cambridge to feel like it and remove it. Merlin knows after what she demands in exchange. Making a deal while the other couldn't talk was one shifty thing. No, she wasn't giving her that pair of flats. Nope, Lex could forget about it. "Largus Watri!" She really looked like she could use a shower. Her face was kinda pink and her hair was messy. She happened to have been in midair a bit ago. |
SPOILER!!: Bee! Grimace! "We're not going easy on each other....Remember?" The blonde Captain rubbed at his face...still shaken...but his vision was clearing. That was something. After some deep breaths, he was getting himself back in this...still not casting anything non-verbal... ...And Beezus was throwing up her own barrier. Mmmm...Ravenclaw girlfriend.....Mmmmmm. Dylan absolutely loved how smart she was. Even with a hurt head, he could appreciate this vicious nature she was displaying. Girls that could hold their own were so much more attractive than those that could not. He liked that she had her moments when she needed him...but had others when she could just be amazingly independent... The admiration ended when she told him not to move...and the Slytherin knew that couldn't mean anything good. He darted out of the way, knowing he could've let whatever it was hit him and he'd have been fine...No use in weakening his shield, though...when he could just run. Girlfriend was smart...but boyfriend was, too. Her spell hit some random point in the floor...and Dylan quickly whipped his wand around, preparing to counter-attack... "Locomotor Mortis!" He quickly traced out the motion and sent the curse flying. His wand tip lit purple....and then a rush of his magic soared towards his girlfriend. Dylan hadn't even looked to see if it connected. No...he was busy readying himself for whatever she was about to do to counter it. Wand at the ready, yo. |
Anyone :3 I'll be.......not replying for like 8-10 hours though.... Okay, so he was going to do this. He was actually going to invest the time and spar around with some dummies and maybe even models too. Heh. See what he did there? Anyway, he was here to try and show house spirit and get into this Hogwarts thing for real. Sure, it was dirty and disgusting and the people here were the biggest pains he had ever met, BUT this was his school now after a year, so time to get involved in this dueling arena thing. Walking into the room, he rolled up his sleeves and took in the people that were there. Loads of people fighting. Sad thought that if it were a REAL fight no one here would have been able to hold their own. Essex was a thing. 'Sides, it was kind of a cop out to be fighting behind the guise of a wand, but to each their own. So he looked around and the room and grabbed a model to put right in front of him. He would work with this. Yep. Unless someone wanted to duel. Then he'd have a crack at it. Sure, why not, yeah? Smirk. |
(altered timeline) SPOILER!!: Penelope! Tickling charm...Oh, that was a good one. Dylan gave her a wide grin before "Protego!"'ing the charm as it soared towards him. All it took was an upward flick! and the silver light ping'd off, hitting a nearby dummy in the face. It hit it with some force, too...So, he'd need to be careful. Like during the practicing he and Alice had done for the Defense longterm assignment, he'd taught her entirely too well. He had NOT forgotten her making him bald. NO. He most definitely had NOT. The Slytherin took some relaxing breaths...because that whole ordeal hadn't been Penelope's fault...and Dylan wasn't going to take it out on her...So, more breathing....All the breathing that could happen for relaxation and centering himself. Focusing, focusing, focusing....He was picturing ropes coming out and encircling her body...Just flying out of his wand tip and wrapping the Gryffindor up tightly right in front of him. He could see the image clearly in his mind's eye...It was there....All he had to do was make it happen....Focus, focus, focus.... He distinctly pointed his wand at her... Incarcerous! Not immediately...but a few long seconds later, the ropes appeared and flew at Penelope! WOULD THEY SNATCH HER UP?! |
SPOILER!!: Dylan! Actually, she was always proud of him even if he didn't follow her instructions and still moved away. Of course he'd move away, Dylan had more sense than not to. All she could do then was hiss and followed course when he ran to the side. Chaser chasing a Seeker? Seems so. But it was a wrong move...the Slytherin lashed around and she was right on the spot when his purple spell pelted towards her. MERLIN! And it was the Leg-Locker Curse! Beezus squeaked....and flailed. She couldn't move her legs! SPAZZ! Owe it to somewhat turning into a panicky mess because she didn't have full control of her limbs, she lost balance - EEEEEEEEE! ...and began to topple over.....but before she kissed the floor, the brunette quickly worked a seemingly hook of a wand movement and sent a counterspell at the Slytherin Captain, "Petrificus Totalus!" THUD. "Aww..." Hi floor....and hi legs that are glued together. Did the spell hit Dylan, by the way? |
Text Cut: Dylan! Penelope wasn't surprised when Dylan managed to block that one. And she wasn't gonna dwell on it. She'd learned earlier that thinking too much during a duel put her off her guard, even if Dylan was taking a few seconds to breathe and stuff. She watched him intently, refusing to even blink in case she missed the spell casting. And then...ropes! Gah! "Diffindo!" It was the first thing that came to mind, and the ropes moved too fast for her to aim as perfectly as she would've liked, but she was pleased to see it actually cut through a couple ropes that dropped uselessly to the ground. But the rest quickly wrapped around her body, pinning her non-wand arm to her side. Thank Merlin she'd at least raised her wand arm up enough to avoid getting trapped. Pointing her wand back at Dylan, she again cast the first thing that came to mind, "Aguamenti!" Well that didn't seem particularly useful....but maybe it would be somehow. The water shot out of her wand and headed straight for him. Was he gonna block this toooo? Penelope watched, forgetting for the moment to try to free herself from the ropes. |
SPOILER!!: Bee! Dylan had....in all honesty....expected her to block that...and because she didn't, he was torn between winning...and SPAZ!FLAILING over the fact that his girlfriend was about to face!plant the dueling arena floor...Blergh....He couldn't very well just let her potentially mess her face up. That would hurt both of them... Yea...Dylan started to raise his wand, all intents and purposes on levitating Beezus...but something else had happened that he'd been too busy mentally flailing to realize. Bee had tossed a spell at him...just before she'd started falling. Everything began seizing up...which made no sense since he'd had his shield going....but somehow it'd worn off or died. His arms froze up and locked down to his sides and his legs stiffened, no longer moving. Nothing worked anymore...Dylan was totally paralyzed and could not even twitch a finger...nor could he even talk for that matter. NO! He didn't want the duel to end like this. He wanted to carry on! IT WAS TOO EARLY TO END THIS THING.... As he dropped to the floor, his wand rolled away...and all he could really do was just lay there, completely silent and completely still. Help! |
SPOILER!!: Cassia She gave an audible sigh of relief when her attack was blocked. This was probably the only attack that she didn't mind being deflected but only because it meant they could continue on with their duel until someone proper won instead of being out of commission because of a loss of speech. Though really, the girl should have invested in learning a few silent spells, then she wouldn't need her speech and this wouldn't be an issue. She was giving her a moment to collect herself but Cassia saw it fit to use that minute to attack her. We see how far your gratitude goes. Mhmmm. "Impiriano!" She yelled immediately. It had to work, nevermind the fact that the only other time she'd ever cast this spell it failed miserably, this HAD to work because she'd made the dumb decision to cast this instead of Protego...or not so dumb...just overly ambitious, hoping a spell she failed at would work when she needed it to. There was very little surprize and a hint of disappointment when she found herself drenched in water. Needless to say, she was unamused. Lex had half a mind to drop her wand and throw a three year old's tantrum but instead she took a deep breath. "Impedimenta!" |
SPOILER!!: Penelope! Dylan was impressed with how quick Penelope was to cut at the ropes. She'd raised her wand without a second thought and slashed through them...Well, some of them. A few managed to snake their way around her body...but the good news about that was her wand arm remained free.....and the duel could continue on... In fact, the Slytherin Captain had opened his mouth to commend her efforts when suddenly there was water...and A LOT of it. He blinked over at her, surprised and soaking wet. What was that supposed to do....The look on his face must have been puzzled as he tried to work out exactly what his next move should be. Yea, he was wet from head to toe....but it wasn't too uncomfortable... Erm. Okay. What Dylan had not anticipated, of course, was that the floor beneath his feet was also a wet...and the moment he tried to move too much, he nearly slipped. Distracted, he focused his wand on the water mess, deciding to go ahead and get the water cleaned up. Really, he couldn't move or do anything with water everywhere around him... He was raising his wand again....and was about to cast...but he'd been distracted for such a long time...Had she cast something else? |
SPOILER!!: Dylan! There came another.... THUD! Where did that sound came from? .....*MELLOW*.... Her spell hit him, probably? To make sure, the brunette lifted her head and trunk up - she still can, thankfully - and immediately searched for Dylan. Leaning on her elbows, she turned to her left and there she saw him.....on the floor....all frozen up....just exactly how the Full Body Bind Curse that she shot his way was supposed to work. Whoops. "Babe?" She hurriedly finite'd her legs and shook them up......before standing up somewhat wobbly. She was then on his side next moment. Grimace. He was really frozen up....he was barely blinking....and she did this to him? Imagine how guilty she was feeling. "I'm so sorry..." With that, she leaned over and kissed him on the forehead before intricately flicking her wand above him, "Finite Incantatem!" That ought to negate the curse, yes? |
SPOILER!!: Bee! Everything hurt. After freezing up completely, his body had hit the ground...with nothing to stop it. Dylan would have groaned in pain....but the thing was, he couldn't use his mouth...So, that was a no-go. Instead, he was just staring up at the ceiling...FEELING his pain...and not expressing it like he would have usually...So totally lame. How had he let the Ravenclaw get the jump on him? Merlin...Emotions. Stupid blasted things..... #SelfLoathing ...but then someone was rushing to his side...and all he could do was stare straight up...Dylan assumed it would be Beezus...Who else had been in the dueling arena with them? He didn't recall anyone else...When the kiss was dropped to his forehead, his thoughts were confirmed...and then he felt something...his arms, legs, and body in general tingling...Oh, she'd released him from the magic of the full body bind...He quickly took a deep breath, moving to sit up with difficulty... Merlin...everything hurt... "Are....Do you continue?" Dylan didn't mind....In other words, he wasn't giving up... |
Text Cut: Dylan! Whoa, her spell worked! Or, well, obviously it had worked, but it had actually hit him too. Cool! Even though it wasn't exactly a great or distracting spell since it was just water, but she still felt like that was an accomplishment somehow. And maybe she would think of some kinda use for it after a few minutes... ...except...it seemed to be of use now already. Dylan was trying to clean it up? From the floor...OH. That was how it could have been useful, making the floor slippery. But he was getting rid of that. Darn. But...maybe it that was also useful because he was distracted now. Was it allowed for her to cast another spell before he'd attacked back? Was there a rule about taking turns on spells or anything? She had know idea...but it seemed like a silly rule if there was, and she wasn't gonna listen to it. Her wand pointed at him again - still not paying a thought to untying herself - she tried to do the squiggly upside down U wand movement quickly as she cast, "Locomotor Wibbly." Jelly Legs Jinx. That was a spell she did actually remember learning in DADA. At least she wasn't totally hopeless there. |
SPOILER!!: Dylan When he asked her if she still wanted to continue the duel, the brunette quickly shook her head. "No, it's okay." Maybe she should duel more, right? Because for some reason...she was feeling calmer now. She didn't want to break things anymore. Or maybe that was all just because of Dylan.....either way, she was feeling a whole lot better now. But she was still not back to her happy, pleasant self. She looked around for his wand, levitated it towards them and handed it out to him. "Sorry for the trouble, babe.....and thank you." She owed him. So much. |
SPOILER!!: Penelope! It seemed like a rookie mistake...but one he'd made all the same. When Dylan looked up to cast off his next spell, red light was already seeking him out at an alarming speed...The Slytherin seeker was quick...but he wasn't nearly quick enough to block it. In the next instance, his legs had collapsed beneath him...and he was struggling to not bust his head wide open... Ouch! "....That was smart of you...." It was. Dylan had to hand it to her...but would she be able to stay focused after the small victory...? Would she allow it to distract her as he had done with others. These were mistakes he wouldn't be making again, of course. Learning from them an all... "Avis!" He hand and wand moved smoothly...as he bumped it along once...and then twice...completing it's motion. Yes, he hadn't done that one as a nonverbal...simply because he bum hurt from falling on it...and it was really had to stay centered after something like that happened. So.... Then there was blue light...just before birds barreled out of his wand tip...There was twittering and golden in color...Dylan eyed them for a few moments...They were very rather small...but with sharp, pointed beaks. Could the Gryffindor protect herself effectively against an attack like that? COULD SHE? Well, they were about to find out.... "Oppugno!" POINT! |
Text Cut: Lex This time, Cassia tried not to stifle a laugh. She had learned her lesson by now that laughing at Lex would only end up in herself being unconscious or severely injured. You couldn't blame her that her reflexes so happened to be such dangerous hexes. Though she did look kinda fun dripping and all. They would clean afterwards. Hopefully, it'll only be water and no other fluids. And she might have raised her wand to to dry Lex but the lioness had cast her revenge already. Fair enough. Her hand clutching the wand was half raised. And she wanted to raise it more, point it at Lex and fire back another hex but it was going up very slowly. Incredibly slowly. Like she was watching in slow motion. Sloooowly. She was getting impatient and wanted to react but even blinking took a lot. After what seemed like forever, her wand was pointed at Lex, "Ric-tusemp..raa!" Mind you she said slowly thanks to the Impedimenta. |
