Text Cut: Dylan She was watching his wand hand, still waiting for the instant it'd move and he'd say something. There was no way Dylan was talented enough to do a whole duel nonverbally, yeah? Jelly-Legs Curse. No shield for this one. Alice waited until the last second to jump out of the way, narrowly avoiding the spell and keeping her eyes trained on it until she was sure it had hit a dummy near the back of the arena. Was she supposed to retaliate now? It felt really weird throwing spells at Dylan, but she pulled a hex out of her mind fairly quickly. All of that OWL studying was already paying off a little now. "Densaugeo!" Was it going to hit him? Was it? |
SPOILER!!: Alice! Dylan didn't move or try to block on purpose...He wanted to remind Alice that she could cast a shield...and then he'd feel more comfortable throwing other stuff at her...For now, though, it'd be kept rather mild. This was HIS Alice, okay? He and Selina had raised and nurtured her. HE COULDN'T HURT HER. *FLAILING DRAMATICALLY ON THE INSIDE* Ahem. ...The Slytherin felt the disturbance in his shield...and felt it weaken around him. One more spell would've done it....Dylan felt confident in assuming. It was not as strong as he'd usually performed it...but he had been muttering...and all his focus hadn't been there. It was to be expected... He was circling again, now.... In the next moment, Dylan was working his wand like a whip, shouting..."VENTUS!" White light began whirling out of his wand...and he had to hold fast not to lose it... AIR!BENDING!SLICE! |
Text Cut: Dylan There was one spell she couldn't dodge. "Revertoscutum!" Alice's favorite spell was cast, and in a moment, there was the pale greenish-blue wall of water in between her and Dylan to help her block the gust of wind, his spell hopefully bouncing off back at him from the bubble-like shield. Why hadn't he been hit by her tooth-growing spell, though? She recalled his very first wand movement.. the one on himself.. had he muttered something? Had she not heard him speak? Impiriano. He'd cast the shield on himself. Typical Slytherin move. Scowling a little, she waited for her shield to disappear before casting again. If his Ventus had rebounded back, would two spells break the layer of magic on him? But just in case.. "Finite!" That was to take care of any spell that was protecting him at the moment. "Titillando!" And that was extra. |
SPOILER!!: Alice! ......Oh, snap. 'Glass to sand' shield. He had taught her well. Dylan was proud to see the rather difficult shield floating between the two of them. It was such a chore to cast...but Alice looked like a total natural. He just stood there and appreciated it's construction for a moment....but then she was tossing 'Finite' at him...and his own shield vanished... Was that the Tickling Hex she was slinging at him? Moving quickly, he shouted "Protego!", working his wand simultaneously while doing so. Alice would need to be more inventive with this spells...Naturally, the easier they were in theory...the easier to dodge and block...and he was shieldless. Why wouldn't she take advantage? "Petrificus Totalus!" His next move would have been to stun...but Dylan couldn't very well stun Alice...and if he weren't mistaken, it was against the rules anyway...Yep, rules. There were always so many rules... Had that hit...Dylan couldn't be sure. This Gryffindor was a slippery one... |
Text Cut: Dylan "Contego!" Alice's wand moved in the ever so familiar upwards zig zag motion, keeping her from getting hit by Dylan's body bind spell. She'd have to go a bit harder than the Tickling Hex, wouldn't she? It was a good think that she'd been using so much time to study for her Defense Against the Dark Arts owl, because she sure would have had a hard time coming up with spells to throw at him before then. "Gelatinus!" Alice tried to make her aim precise on this one, hoping he wouldn't be able to conjure up a shield in time to dodge it. Even though this was Dylan they were talking about. Well? Were his legs gelatine-like yet or not? This was difficult. Next time, she was dueling first years. |
SPOILER!!: Alice! Gelatinus? What? Dylan wasn't familiar with the spell, which threw him momentarily...and because he wasn't familiar with it and his focus had spazzed...Yea, the spell hit him dead on...and with no shield to protect him, the Slytherin dropped to the ground. Hard, too. "OOMPH!" ...and Dylan wasn't at all familiar with what a counter-curse would be... Damn. Meh, he'd stay there momentarily...but that didn't mean he couldn't still cast..."Mucus ad Nauseam!"...Yea, he was still working his wand from the ground like a boss. He'd get his legs figured out in a moment....but that didn't mean Alice couldn't join him in AGONY! ...Not that he was really in agony... |

Though, this was two best friends dueling, it so didn't mean that neither would not fire back and get pay back. Of course, both were being nice..as nice as you could be during a duel. As she cast finite, Cassia hopped parting her legs a bit enjoying the feeling of unbound legs. So awesome. To be felt. And because the world was her friend right now, she saw Lex hanging upside down. Can she laugh now? Like more than when Lex's legs were dancing? No one would blame her, right? Still pointing her wand at Lex, Cassia's shoulders were shaking as she laughed and tried to muffle the sound or turn it into a coughing fit. She pretty much ended up with both a laughter and a coughing fit. Not so good when having someone in midair. Oooops. Not a good thing. See, her conscience was telling her it was so wrong to have your bestie hung by her ankle in the air so she was about to put her down until..... WHUT! Cambridge was serious today. One second the snake's arms were by her sides a couple of inches away from her torso then the next second they were pressed against her body and by shock she dropped her wand and blinked. She was pretty sure she had dropped Lex, too. So yeah. "Not funny," She said her eyes narrow. "Untie me and let's continue this duel like....mature people." Pfffft, yeah right. That exactly what they were. Nope, that wasn't disarming, so Cambridge you hadn't won. |
SPOILER!!: Mature? Suuuure :P Her face was turning a deeper and deeper shade of red. Partially because all the blood was rushing to her face and partially because Cassia was laughing at her. She wanted down and she wanted down NOW!! How was she meant to duel this way?? There was a counter curse, she'd taken the time to learn it but she never got the chance to use it because she was suddenly crashing to the ground. "Owwww..." That was the worst landing ever. Good thing the floor was padded or that would have REALLY hurt. Lex looked over at her now bound best friend. See, things like that only happened when you hung your best friend by her ankle even after she asked to be put down. She shoved off the ground and walked over to her. "I dunno, the rope's a nice look for you." But of course she wouldn't leave her like that...the duel wouldn't be fair. After casting a quick diffindo she handed her her wand. A tiny voice in her head was saying 'ATTACK IMMEDIATELY' but she didn't. Maybe Cassia would think about that? Anyway, she walked back to where she'd been standing. This would be a fair duel. She'd wait til she was ready. For now, she would pay attention, try to anticipate her next move--BE READY TO YELL PROTEGO! An attack was coming, there was no doubt about that. |
Text Cut: the mature lioness xD A little tiny voice in her head was telling her that she had it coming after laughing twice at her friend. Best friend.Though bound in ropes as she were, millions of voices were occurring inside her head and she couldn't recognize what those voices said. Though she got the gist. She was NOT ok being tied with ropes. Okay? The venomous look on her face must have given it away anyway. Sometimes looks spoke louder than words indeed. The blond only grunted at the comment Lex made. Nice look her behind. Was that diffindo! Cassia's squeezed shut. Great, now Lex was slicing her and finishing her off. Who knew her end would be on her bestie's hand after just a joke. In the dueling arena at the end of her fourth year. She really wanted to graduate ans stuff you know. Maybe have her first kiss. She was still breathing, though. Was she a ghost? Was she going to join Myrtle. Can she go sleep in a tomb instead. Finally finding the courage, Cassia opened her eyes and saw the ropes on the ground. Oh, and her wand was just handed to her. Like Lex was ever going to kill her. pfffffffffft. Bowing again as in to restart this duel, the snake took a couple of steps back and raised her wand. "Nice shirt by the way." Who was distracting? Who? Nope no one! "Steleus!" She had a tissue you know. |
Text Cut: Dylan lolz Dylan on the ground trying to sort his jelly legs was kind of hilarious, and Alice was doing her best not to snicker while watching him figure them out. Had he never heard of that spell? Her fellow captain looked rather surprised by the outcome, so she would assume so. Also, was she winning a duel? Really? Against one of the smartest seventh years in the school? Look who'd just been bested by a- SNEEZE. .. what? Curse of the Bogies? Alice probably should have been paying more attention to that wand hand, right. But so long as she had a cold.. none of those sneezes were being covered, okay? She SNEEZED on Dylan as hard as she could. And then again. And again and again. "En.. *sniffle*.. Entomorphis!" |
SPOILER!!: The distracting snake Good merlin! You give a girl a chance to get up and she lies there, eyes squeezed shut like she was expecting an explosion. Pffft--not a bad idea though if she was being honest but this was Cassia. She wasn't about to cast anything like that at her so she waited patiently for the girl to get over whatever little dramatic spell she was having at the moment. Would casting Finite make her cut it out? They had a duel to get back to. Okay okay, she was getting up. Good. Progress--wait what? Her shirt...? Uh-huh..."Cassia...what are you going on about? You gave me this shirt during our sleepover because I liked i--" O__O "Prote--ACHOO!" Holy kneazle, you had to be kidding--ACHOOOO! "I hope you-achoo-get my germs! ACHOO!" Pull yourself together Lex!!! "Confundo!" She managed to get out before falling into another fit of sneezing. Gosh, wear off already!!! |
SPOILER!!: Alice! ...............Did she just SNEEZE on him?! Dylan GLARED. Alice knew how he felt about......GERMS......He was practically flailing now, his wand hand whipping around...Oh, if she thought she was getting away with THAT one...Well, the Gryffindor just had another thing coming, didn't she? Yep. TOTALLY did. In fact, he'd forgotten about his legs in his germ-induced distress... "Engorgio Skullus!" Oh, yea...Did she see these sassy wand-motions? Did she? Well, he meant BUSINESS! He followed the previous spell with another...not even caring. "Everte Statum!" ....So up in arms about the sneezing was he...that Dylan didn't even realize that Finite would've probably done the trick. All rational thought had FLOWN away. SHE'D SNEEZED ON HIM. "Scourgify! Scourgify! Scourgify! Scourgify! Scourgify! Scourgify!" He was so distracted...that he hadn't realized she'd flung another spell at him until it was too late...In fact, it hit Dylan square in the face...Merlin, why did his head hurt all the sudden? |
Text Cut: Germaphobe "Protego!" Alice managed to block his first spell, but the second hit her square on.. ow. OW. What hurt so much? She stumbled a bit and let out a sharp yelp of pain. Merlin. That was mean, Dylan. He was getting sneezed on more. ACHOO. The fifth year made sure to to spray ALL over her opponent a few more times where he sat on the ground. Had her previous spell hit him in the.. the head? Entomorphis was meant to be pointed at his heart... what was going to happen? Either way, Alice was trying to pull herself together enough to toss another spell at him. But ow.. something hurt.. and she felt sick.. SNEEZE. "Calvorio!" .. that was the first spell that came to mind, but what good was hair loss going to do? Really? In a duel? She had to become less impulsive. "Mimble Wimble!" |

|
SPOILER!!: Alice! Dylan's head was fuzzy...and he was somehow finding it harder to...see straight. This entire duel had gotten WAY out of had...That much was more than obvious...However, fuzzy or not, he did NOT miss the next spell she was flinging...and quickly whipped his arm in an attempt to block. "PROTEGO!" Alice was NOT going to make his hair fall out! Had she lost her mind?! His hair was his POWAH. Feeling a bit betrayed by the Gryffindor Captain...Dylan flopped backwards, his head missing the second spell she'd performed...The bluish-purple light of it flew right above his face...Merlin...Okay, OKAY. He tried to sit up...failing for a few brief moments before finally being able to see her again....He was a Seventh Year. He needed to THINK like a Seventh Year.... He needed to use advanced magic...which was cool. Dylan totally knew advanced spells... "Flipendo Duo!" Fancy, smancy wand maneuvering on his part... TAKE THAT, FISCHER! |
Quote:
She managed to deflect the first but the second got her fingers clamped in no time. Lex quickly snatched her wand with her other hand...the one she didn't usually aim with. No matter, this would be short distance. "Finite!!!" Hand back and fully functional she switched back to her faithful hand and aimed. Laura was getting on her last nerve. She would end the duel now. Ahem. "Bombarda!" Of course it wasn't aimed AT her. Absolutely not. Lex knew what Azkaban was and she wasn't ready to go there. The explosion sounded just next to the girl, a small one, she didn't put too much into it, followed quickly after by "Expulso!" Also not aimed directly at her. Mostly just to frighten her into dropping her wand or yelling surrendor. When she didn't hear anything she cast a third. "Confringo!" Just as the others, it wasn't aimed at her, just close enough to give her a fright. Lex had learned to gauge these. She new when to make a BIG BOOM and when not to. "Had enough?" Next she WOULD aim them at her. |
Quote:
"OH well I think I should go now." Laura smiled. "You can win." Laura decided it was time to go before Alexa annoyed her so much that they were fighting and well they destroyed Hogwarts, she would be the bigger woman here obviously. |
Quote:
If she accomplished nothing else with this duel she accomplished that and could actually grin to herself. Looking around, she made sure nothing had broken with those explosions, everything seemed well in order. Expected. They were big or powerful. Eh, time to log this thing. She won and she would call it fair. Lex didn't know how Laura had dodged every single thing but like she said earlier, none of her concern. |
Text Cut: Dylan One second, Dylan was casting a shield, and the next, she was flying.. Wheeee- SNEEZE. Alice broke her fall with her elbow, the angle at which she landed rendering her arm useless. And painful. She couldn't move it, did he know? Thankfully, it was her right and not her left, her wand hand, so she tried to get back to her feet as quickly as possible. No giving up until she was bleeding all over and totally incapacitated, okay? If he had wanted people who'd give up easily, Dylan shouldn't have chosen to duel with a Gryffindor. "Calvorio!" He'd like BROKEN HER ARM. His hair could fall out in return for that. "Cal.. *sniffle* Calvorio! Calvorio!" Alice tried shooting the spell from different angles, red light all over the arena. And for that exemplified Knockback Jinx, that too. Also because she was running out of spells to cast at him. And her arm hurt. A lot. SNEEZE. |
Text Cut: the sneezing lioness One of her favorite hexes. Never gets old. Seeing someone sneezing. In any other occasion it would have been normal especially flu seasons but here in the arena with the wand and more importantly the sneezing reason being her hex. How succeeding delights her. Everyone though, right? "Oh I remember the shirt alright," She said with a grin. "What an awesome taste I have," She said amused by her sneezing friend. Just as she was going to make another *BLINK* The fourth-year stood there with a blank expression on her face, her mouth half open and looked around. What was she doing here? And who was...sneezing? "Bless you," She said. "Need a tissue?" She asked dumbfounded. Did Lex have a cold?....Did Cassia do that to her. The snake's eyes trailed to where her bag was on the floor and wondered if she should go give Lex a tissue. |
SPOILER!!: Alice! With his panic winding down...the Slytherin's mind was staring to clear...some. His head still HURT so bad...but he finally, eventually....remembered FINITE!...Well, he momentarily remembered Finite...anyway... WHY WAS SHE TRYING TO MAKE HIS HAIR FALL OUT?! "STOP THAT." Pulling his wand, Dylan leveled it on the Gryffindor...He wasn't attractive bald. HE NEEDED his hair. The blonde locks were his power and way of getting things accomplished when it came to other people. Inadvertently, ALICE....was trying to SNATCH his power away.... He might have blocked most of the hair-loss jinxes....but he felt one hit...and slowly but surely, every piece of white-blonde hair fell to the floor. Dylan was so astonished at his co-Captain's nerve...that he simply stared down at the pieces...His chest hurt...and he idly wondered if this was what heartbreak felt like. It was strong...and the Slytherin was pretty sure he wanted to cry... GLARING. ALL THE GLARES. "Immobulus! Immobulus!" Yea....he'd cast off TWICE....just in case one missed...Blue lights erupted from his wand and seemed to race each other in her direction...It wasn't enough to make up for the feeling in his chest, though..."Incarcerous!"... Merlin, he...was going to freak out...It was coming....A spaz attack.... |
SPOILER!!: Hehe confused snake She would have LOVED to comment on Cassia's comment about the shirt except...now she got the feeling that her spell worked a little too well. Lex looked at the dazed expression her friend now wore...her brows crinkling a bit as she waited for her to suddenly snap out of it. Merlin. She was offering her some tissue. This duel wasn't over yet but she doubted Cassia could even remember what they were doing. Seriously? The spell hits and she ends up wishing it hadn't? What WAS this? Lex gave a heavy sigh. How did it end up this way? She didn't wanna un-jinx her but then, what choice did she have? The girl was clueless! Merlin help her if she just walked out! The girl might walk herself out a window! Um um um!!! "Finite Incantatem!" There. That should do it. Pleeeease work. Lex waited just a bit longer, you know, so she could be sure before raising her wand to test the state of mind of her friend. "Langlock!" She should probably snap out of it and block that one...just saying... |
So. Dueling. Penelope had been wanting to try it out in the dueling arena for awhile during the term, but she either kept forgetting or got distracted by something else. It was getting close to the end of term now though, and she was determined to at least try out dueling once. It was one thing to try spells out and practice in class and stuff, but it was another thing entirely to actually remember them all and use them in a duel. And she wanted to get better at that. Sooo here she was. She had her wand out already, so all she had to do was wait, it seemed. Maybe she could do a few stretches? Yeah, that sounded like a good idea. She started stretching out her legs, bending over to try and touch her toes. Legs were probably the main things she needed to stretch, in case she had to dodge spells if her shield charm decided to not work... |
Text Cut: Dylan Dylan was BALD. Cracking up here, okay? He totally deserved it. He BROKE her ARM. "Revertoscutum!" His spells bounced harmlessly off her shield, but Alice couldn't bring herself to go offensive anymore. She'd run out of spells to think of, and the pain in her arm was too much.. she just couldn't cast at him anymore. The most she could do was defend herself against his spells. The wall of water before her faltered a little, and she wobbled on her feet a bit before it faded completely. Bald Dylan versus an injured Alice? She still wanted to WIN, though. |
SPOILER!!: Alice! Dylan.....SERIOUSLY needed to get it together...He wasn't vain or anything...but he loved his hair...and he knew he could charm it back...but...just the sight of it on the floor like that... Heartbroken wibble. That was all... The Slytherin cared about the Gryffindor a great deal...but he was NOT too fond at the moment. Which...because of that...was probably why he raised his wand and cast off towards her with no feeling. Dylan couldn't be held accountable for his actions at the moment.... "Slugulus Eructo!" Brilliant green exploded out the end of his wand...and sped off in search of its target...Dylan, on the other hand...was, WITH EFFORT, trying to remember the charm that grew hair.... His POOR hair.... |
