Cozy Nook Outside Professor Romanos' Office

http://i827.photobucket.com/albums/z...anosOffice.jpg

Around the corner from the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom is a cozy little nook that could almost be easily missed, in which sits a quaint little waiting area for all those who wish to visit Professor Romanos. There are a variety of dark reddish-brown leather chairs for those to sit comfortably on, surrounding a low, rich colored mahogany table that has been conveniently stacked with a few magazines for enjoyment while waiting. Underneath sits a soft carpet that matches the rest of the décor, giving the area a rustic and inviting place to be in. Right next to the door sits a little perch where a working little metal made snidget sits; most of the time. It does truly love to have the spotlight on him and will bug you if it isn't. If one wishes to visit the professor, all they have to do is knock. Keep in mind though, there may be others already in the office and if that's the case, feel free to make yourself comfortable. Fall asleep if you must. The Professor doesn't mind; just as long as you aren't missing any lessons.

OOC: Please post here first by having your character knocking on the door.

It took a while for West to decide which professor to go to, but once he'd decided he was confident that it was the right choice. Professor Romanos would definitely listen and help his brain work through things and probably explain things without getting all up in arms too. He knocked and then waited.

Yup.

Just waiting, eyeing the metal snigdet.

... actually it was pretty comfy. Maybe he'd nap.

She'd been expecting a knock. Or was she? Did she even hear one? Glancing up from looking under one of her chairs to catch Erma, Medea frowned momentarily as she stared at the door. Yes, it was decided, she definitely heard a knock. Adjusting her vest, the Professor stood up and opened the door, glancing out. Oh!

"Hello, Mister Odessa." Her smiled and tone were as warm and inviting as ever. No sleepy eyes already, right?

Oh that didn't take long.

"Hi professor." West was inclined to be calm and comfortable given Professor Romanos was, as he had expected, welcoming enough. "I was just thinking about... things. And I wanted to ask some... stuff. If that's okay?"

Mhmmm. As clear as that could've sounded, it was probably best hold off on conclusions for a little while longer. "Of course. Sure. Come on in." Moving out of the way and opening the door a bit more, a wild Erma with an extremely fat tail ran by behind her, causing Medea to quietly clear her throat and give another option. "Or ve can stay out here if you vish. Votever you are comfortable vith."

will post him there in a bit

"Inside is good." West said, sounding cautious. He got up and, not particularly bothered by sharing the space with a pet, went into the office.

Ethan walked up to the Professor's door and knocked. Deciding to sit and wait he sat down comfortably and decided that this wasn't going to be so bad after all. Then he saw the snidget. That sort've put him on edge. He was excited about this long-term project but couldn't help feeling a bit nervous about it. The assignment was worth 20% of their grade. There was nothing to do but sit and wait.

After setting up the notes for their next lesson, Medea glanced over her desk to her door. Unlike the last time, she was certain someone had knocked. After fidgeting with her desk drawers and a pile of papers, only to just leave them on the ground, the defense professor hopped over them and opened the door a moment later. "Mister Fallows." she smiled, keeping the door half closed so no curious kitties could get out. "Is there something I can help you vith?

Ethan was startled by the sudden appearance of the professor. "Oh, yes. I just had a few questions about the long-term assignment.", he replied.

OOC: Sorry, about no quotes. I don't know how to do them.

Did he? Quite frankly, she was happy that he'd come with questions instead of sitting confused with no answers for the rest of the term. "Oh, of course. Vould you like to come in or vould you feel more comfortable sitting out here?"

masterofelves 05-28-2013 04:49 PM

Oh. She was asking his opinion on where he wanted to talk? "Um, I guess out here is good." he nervously replied.

Alrighty then.

Closing the door behind her, she moved to one of the chairs around the mahogany table and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. Oh yes, do ignore that fluffy paw appearing and disappearing from under the door. "Alright." she smiled, settling herself in.

"Vot vere your questions?"

Okay. "I was wondering if I am supposed to use the charts you presented for the assignment or if we were supposed to find an alternative. And also, since the assignment requires so much dueling, do you have any spell suggestions? And is Incarcerus legal for dueling?", he rattled off.

She couldn't help but widen her smile a little, seeing as how eager was about the assignment. Or perhaps not for the assignment itself, but to understand it a bit better. "Yes, I vould like for you to use the charts given. If you end up losing them however, I haff extras that you can pick up. Though, do try not to lose them." Medea chuckled softly and winked at the young Ravenclaw. She had extras, though she didn't have many.

"The assignment doesn't call for so much dueling as it does actually practicing the spells. Dueling is an option though, if you prefer, and incarcerous is allowed, yes. Though, I vould suggest practicing your basic spellvork, such as the disarming and shield charms, and stances before jumping into a duel vith someone. And even then, I vouldn't go vith any fancy spellvork, but vould... try and become comfortable vith it, I should say? Find your rhythm and footvork first, before experimenting vith different approaches."

He was still a youngster after all. There was so much to learn.

Wow. "Okay. Thank you so very much!", he replied gratefully. He picked up his things and headed for the dueling hall.

Mission accepted, obviously. If Alice could take out Bellaire with just her jaw, she was sure handling a couple of the Defense professor's felines wouldn't be an issue. She'd levitated Aireyhead's vacuum down to the first floor, and once she reached her destination, it was carefully set down outside of Romanos' office. And then she knocked. First once, twice. Then thrice. A couple of more times, and she stepped back, waiting for the woman to come out and let her in. Also, did she have to think of an explanation for why she was taking a vacuum into the office?

She would work on that while she waited. Winging it seemed to work just fine.

Lowering the charcoal piece she held, Medea glanced over to her office door at the first few knocks, raising an eyebrow as they continued, having been used to only two or three at a time. Grabbing the small cloth next to her, she wiped her hands before opening the door, gaze landing on the Gryffindor quidditch captain. "Oh, hello Miss Fischer. Did you need help vith something?" she asked, eyeing the vacuum warily.

Excuses. Okay! She had one now.

"Hi, prof. You know how some of our Astronomy homework was cleaning?" 'Course she did, Romanos did talk to Airey loads, didn't she? "Well, I was.. um, a bad student and didn't actually clean anything, so Professor Flamsteed got cross and is making me vacuum all the other professors' offices as punishment." Was that believable? Alice considered it for a moment, and then decided that it was. "So I was wondering if I could start with yours. I'll be extra careful, promise, and it'll look real spiffy afterwards."

Spiffy. Yeah. The professor got a couple of serious nods and earnest looks while she waited for a response.

Yeees, she was aware of that particular Astronomy homework, though she also knew it had been due awhile ago. And...oh? Eyebrows raised at the confession, though it didn't make her open her door any wider for Alice to go through. In fact, she may have leaned against the door frame and closed it a bit more behind her. Her cats didn't like loud noises. "I don't know, Miss Fischer..." she trailed off, biting the inside of her lip. "You haff my permission to skip my office if you'd like. I von't tell Professor Flamsteed."

What a silly assignment anyways.

But.. but.. "Professor Flamsteed will know if I don't, though. He has eyes all around the school. And I really don't want to get in more trouble than I'm already in, professor." Alice gave the defense lady her best innocent looks and pleading eyes. "Please? I'll be really quick. Really. You won't even know I was in there." Really, she wouldn't. The cats wouldn't hiss too loudly, she hoped. So there was nothing to worry about.

Pleaaase, professor? More pleading eyes for her.

Medea smiled some, more in defeat than anything as Alice's concerns were reason enough to let her do her job. She, as well, didn't want the Gryffindor to be in more trouble. "I suppose." The thought still weighed in the professor's mind for a moment until she shifted out of the way, opening the door wider to allow Alice in. "Come on in. Oh, though...a vord of caution. My cats do not like loud noises."

Expect wild and hissy animals.

Maybe it was because she'd never had a need to speak to the Professor before but Lex didn't notice just how comfy this little waiting area was. Huh. How curious. You think she would have at least noticed this place in passing by but noooope. She plopped down in one of the the comfy chairs and watched her kneazle get nice and comfy on her lap. Even he could appreciate this place.

She pulled out a chocolate frog and started on it while she waited. Oh hold on!...real smart Lex, sit before knocking the door.

Ehhhhh...

"Hey bud, take care of that for me, will you?" Alexa dismissed the look the kneazle gave her and shoved him off her lap. "Great, just scratch at the door for a bit." She watched the reluctant feline walk to the door and scratch at it several times, she beamed at him but he ignored that, crawling back into her lap and curling up again. Noooooow she would wait.

Quite frankly, she thought it was Alfonso scratching on things again, though after finding him asleep on his favorite chair, Medea frowned and headed to her office door. Erm. She did hear something, right? Hesitant, she opened the door a little and peaked out from behind it, gaze landing on the young Gryffindor. Oh! Okay. "Miss Cambridge." she greeted with some surprise, opening the door wider for a proper greeting. "Is everything alright?"

Lex was about to shove Felix off her lap to go scratch the door again when the it swung open and a somewhat surprized(?) professor appeared. She beamed up at her. "Hello Professor!!" Was everything alright? YUUUUUP! How could they not be now that she'd found that room?!?!?

Brilliance, that's what it was. Oh but to answer her question. "Everything's wonderful! I actually stopped by because I had a few questions to ask and you're the only one that can answer them." Her being the DADA Professor and all, it was only legit that she be the one asked. It would be rather disappointing if she couldn't answer and Lex's stupidity curiosity would get the better of her regardless so the best she could do was ask.

"Are you busy right now?" Shehe could always go gawk at that room again while she waited.

...

With a greeting such as that, Medea couldn't help but automatically smile. A perky student would naturally set off those inner professor alarms but, goodness, she brought her cat and it was ADORABLE and Medea was distracted. Certainly Alexa's questions weren't about felines though. She'd rather be known as the vampire lady, not the cat lady. "Of coouuuurse! I'm not busy at all. Vould you like to come in?"

Or...sit out here...?
