Cozy Nook Outside Professor Romanos' Office Around the corner from the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom is a cozy little nook that could almost be easily missed, in which sits a quaint little waiting area for all those who wish to visit Professor Romanos. There are a variety of dark reddish-brown leather chairs for those to sit comfortably on, surrounding a low, rich colored mahogany table that has been conveniently stacked with a few magazines for enjoyment while waiting. Underneath sits a soft carpet that matches the rest of the décor, giving the area a rustic and inviting place to be in. Right next to the door sits a little perch where a working little metal made snidget sits; most of the time. It does truly love to have the spotlight on him and will bug you if it isn't. If one wishes to visit the professor, all they have to do is knock. Keep in mind though, there may be others already in the office and if that's the case, feel free to make yourself comfortable. Fall asleep if you must. The Professor doesn't mind; just as long as you aren't missing any lessons. |
It took a while for West to decide which professor to go to, but once he'd decided he was confident that it was the right choice. Professor Romanos would definitely listen and help his brain work through things and probably explain things without getting all up in arms too. He knocked and then waited. Yup. Just waiting, eyeing the metal snigdet. ... actually it was pretty comfy. Maybe he'd nap. |

"Hello, Mister Odessa." Her smiled and tone were as warm and inviting as ever. No sleepy eyes already, right? |

"Hi professor." West was inclined to be calm and comfortable given Professor Romanos was, as he had expected, welcoming enough. "I was just thinking about... things. And I wanted to ask some... stuff. If that's okay?" |

will post him there in a bit Quote:

Ethan walked up to the Professor's door and knocked. Deciding to sit and wait he sat down comfortably and decided that this wasn't going to be so bad after all. Then he saw the snidget. That sort've put him on edge. He was excited about this long-term project but couldn't help feeling a bit nervous about it. The assignment was worth 20% of their grade. There was nothing to do but sit and wait. |

Ethan was startled by the sudden appearance of the professor. "Oh, yes. I just had a few questions about the long-term assignment.", he replied. OOC: Sorry, about no quotes. I don't know how to do them. |

Oh. She was asking his opinion on where he wanted to talk? "Um, I guess out here is good." he nervously replied. |

Closing the door behind her, she moved to one of the chairs around the mahogany table and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. Oh yes, do ignore that fluffy paw appearing and disappearing from under the door. "Alright." she smiled, settling herself in. "Vot vere your questions?" |

"The assignment doesn't call for so much dueling as it does actually practicing the spells. Dueling is an option though, if you prefer, and incarcerous is allowed, yes. Though, I vould suggest practicing your basic spellvork, such as the disarming and shield charms, and stances before jumping into a duel vith someone. And even then, I vouldn't go vith any fancy spellvork, but vould... try and become comfortable vith it, I should say? Find your rhythm and footvork first, before experimenting vith different approaches." He was still a youngster after all. There was so much to learn. |

Mission accepted, obviously. If Alice could take out Bellaire with just her jaw, she was sure handling a couple of the Defense professor's felines wouldn't be an issue. She'd levitated Aireyhead's vacuum down to the first floor, and once she reached her destination, it was carefully set down outside of Romanos' office. And then she knocked. First once, twice. Then thrice. A couple of more times, and she stepped back, waiting for the woman to come out and let her in. Also, did she have to think of an explanation for why she was taking a vacuum into the office? She would work on that while she waited. Winging it seemed to work just fine. |

"Hi, prof. You know how some of our Astronomy homework was cleaning?" 'Course she did, Romanos did talk to Airey loads, didn't she? "Well, I was.. um, a bad student and didn't actually clean anything, so Professor Flamsteed got cross and is making me vacuum all the other professors' offices as punishment." Was that believable? Alice considered it for a moment, and then decided that it was. "So I was wondering if I could start with yours. I'll be extra careful, promise, and it'll look real spiffy afterwards." Spiffy. Yeah. The professor got a couple of serious nods and earnest looks while she waited for a response. |

What a silly assignment anyways. |

Pleaaase, professor? More pleading eyes for her. |

Maybe it was because she'd never had a need to speak to the Professor before but Lex didn't notice just how comfy this little waiting area was. Huh. How curious. You think she would have at least noticed this place in passing by but noooope. She plopped down in one of the the comfy chairs and watched her kneazle get nice and comfy on her lap. Even he could appreciate this place. She pulled out a chocolate frog and started on it while she waited. Oh hold on!...real smart Lex, sit before knocking the door. Ehhhhh... "Hey bud, take care of that for me, will you?" Alexa dismissed the look the kneazle gave her and shoved him off her lap. "Great, just scratch at the door for a bit." She watched the reluctant feline walk to the door and scratch at it several times, she beamed at him but he ignored that, crawling back into her lap and curling up again. Noooooow she would wait. |

Brilliance, that's what it was. Oh but to answer her question. "Everything's wonderful! I actually stopped by because I had a few questions to ask and you're the only one that can answer them." Her being the DADA Professor and all, it was only legit that she be the one asked. It would be rather disappointing if she couldn't answer and Lex's "Are you busy right now?" Shehe could always go gawk at that room again while she waited. |

With a greeting such as that, Medea couldn't help but automatically smile. A perky student would naturally set off those inner professor alarms but, goodness, she brought her cat and it was ADORABLE and Medea was distracted. Certainly Alexa's questions weren't about felines though. She'd rather be known as the vampire lady, not the cat lady. "Of coouuuurse! I'm not busy at all. Vould you like to come in?" Or...sit out here...? |
Minerva was on a mission.. Mission was an understatement. She had to see Professor Romanos and only Professor Romanos would do. Yes.. yes.. it was very very important to see her and the sooner the better. Min bounced towards the door laughing to herself. She was in the best mood and really wasn't sure why. She had recently been scared to death, threatened detention by the healer, accused of fake id's, suggested to be expelled, and then finally actually getting detention. No the seventeen year old should be very upset over all of this. The usual goody goody was not use to any of those words being placed close to her, so why was she so excited at the moment. Even giggling she knocked on the door. Hoping that the professor was in. This couldn't wait.. not in her mind at least it had to be discussed, plans were needed.. many many plans. |
Quote:
"Oh! Miss Wheatborn!" she smiled with a sigh of relief, coming into full view. "Hello." |
Quote:
She could repeat. "Although...you have cats don't you? I think Felix will be happier out here--you can sit in the other comfy seat and we can talk!!" There was always that option and in fact it was kinda decided on so she got even more comfy and went on to a VERY careful question to start. "So first of all...what are the sculptures in that room made of? You know the creature sculptures?" The REALLY cool looking ones that had nice teeth. |
Quote:
Shaking her head her eagerness jumping forward. "Professor I was hoping for a moment of your time. I have some very important thoughts and well a favor to ask of you." Favor was probably not the best word that she wanted, but at the moment it was all her brain would think of. A huge smile across her face she was gitty for some reason just thinking about it. Not one to ever cross any of her professor, Minerva wondered if her own thoughts were starting to make her jumpy or if she was just ready to be a little daring after so many terms of being so good. |
Quote:
Oh yes, indeed true about the cats. Closing the door behind her, she took her seat on the other comfortable chair, hands clasped together upon her knees. Oh, and there was the first questions...Oh. She had an idea about her sculptures? "Umm, metal. A variety of metal, actually. Why?" WHAT WERE HER PLANS? Quote:
"Oh, no. No, I...no." she chuckled along somewhat. Ahem. Leaving it at that, since she honestly didn't want to explain in case word got to Airey, her eyebrows raised at Minerva's reasoning in being here. Important thoughts and a favor. She was either going to regret this or be pleasantly surprised. "Alright." Medea nodded slowly, grin appearing on her face. "Vould you like to come inside or stay out here?" |
Quote:
Metal? ... Whoops...she should really mention this to Aidan sometime--not that it changed anything because she was still having that idea and still figured it could work. If anything, this just added to the epic-ness of it all. SHE WOULD NOT BE DETERRED BY METAL! "I see...all kinds too...interesting..." Lex mused. VERY interesting. "I was just curious. At first we thought they might be made of wax but then we guessed other things because you know, it's important to know just how much damage the teeth on that werewolf can cause and that would be somewhat dependent on the material they're made of." There was a brief nod, just making sure the Professor was keeping up. "I was also wondering...what would happen if you animated one of those sculptures?" Not like she planned to, what? Noooope. What gave anyone that |
Quote:
Why was she so excited, this was dangerous... very dangerous, she didn't want to land herself another detention, but it wasn't against Lafay Thinking for a second she eyed around the corridor, "Your office professor, I don't really want anyone to over hear what I need to say." She wasn't sure if she was freaking the professor out or not, but she had to be very careful what she said in a corridor... |
Quote:
"That vould depend on the spell you use, Miss Cambridge." she started, shifting on her seat to cross one leg over the other. "Vot I use in general causes them to move much like their design. For example..." She smiled and pointed to the little snitch sitting on it's perch by the door. It tilted it's head and hopped sideways, seemingly trying to get a better look at them. "Not particularly dangerous, though it can be." Again though... Why? Quote:
|
Quote:
Lex payed extra close attention to the spell being cast and the effect it had. ... Uh-huh.... Eyes on the Professor again, this time soaked in curiosity and holding more than a tinged of mischief and excitement. "Sooooooooooooooooooooo..." Pause for dramatic effect and there was some kneazle stroking going on. "If you were to use that spell--or hey, a crazy idea, you teach me that spell and I happened to cast it on say...you know, let's say I cast it on the Kappa in the room, it'd start acting just like a Kappa would were it real???" And the werewolf would act like a werewolf toooooooo???????? |
Quote:
|
Quote:
"Cool!!" GRIN. "Er...do you think you'd let me give that a try?? It'd be really epic and you can watch if you wanna that way I don't end up dying or something!!" That would have been a problem...she didn't think her father would have appreciated her being dead and she didn't think she'd like it much either. There was hardly anything one could do when they were dead. Without waiting on a response she went right into pleading. "Pleeeeease? I'd be super careful! I might be questionable at other subjects but I'm good at this one and wouldn't end up seriously hurt!" Besides, could no one else see how epic animating those things and watching them work would be??? No? Just her??? |
Quote:
Her smile widened as her gaze turned downwards to her fiddling fingers momentarily, listening to Alexa try and talk her into teaching her the spell. She might've been more willing if the girl hadn't asked about the werewolf and the damage it could cause first. "Charms and transfiguration you mean?" She asked, glancing back up to the third year. "The spells used to animate the sculptures. They are not studied in defense against the dark arts." Sooo, if she wanted to think about that first. "Vhy, may I ask, are you interested in learning how to animate one?" |
Quote:
"I know." She informed her with a few enthusiastic nods. "The real purpose of asking isn't to learn those spell but rather to know how plausible the idea is. Like is it something that can work and what the results might look like. It falls into DADA because of the creatures involved that have a possibility of taking on their life like characteristics." See? She didn't want to learn a spell, she wanted to Oh but she supposed she would answer her question. "Well..." She began slowly, stroking the sleeping kneazle a few times. "can you imagine just how epic it would be to see something like--let's say the werewolf running around in action, learning spells to use against it and such without actually being up against a real werewolf??? Same goes for everything else. It'd be so...so COOOOOL." Nodnodnodnod. |
Quote:
Well, if that was all the Gryffindor wanted to know, than that could be easily worked out. "I can imagine." she nodded, smile not at all faultering. She did create those sculptures partly to study the creature's actions, even if they weren't exactly like the creature they portrayed. Plus they were just fun to work with. "I'll tell you vot, Miss Cambridge. If you'd like to use one of the sculptures for learning and spell vork purposes, than you may do so. Under my supervision." She wouldn't be teaching how to animate them however and she'd knooooow if the third year went to talk to Bellaire or Ivy about it. "Just as long as you don't blow them up." Please and thank you. |
Quote:
YAAAAAAAAAAY!!! Of course she heard the part about her needing to supervise. She was listening to the whole thing, that's how she heard the yes in the first place. "You have my word, I won't cast a single explosive spell on them!" Nodnodnod. SHE GOT TO PLAY WITH THE SCULPTURES!!! "And all I have to do is find a way to animate them or will you be doing that for me?" Either worked for her. She could ask another Professor...or...read. Cringe. "Also, about the next thing I came about. Can I use the cool dummy in the dueling arena? The one that shoots spells back at you?????" PLEEEEASE??? |
Professor Romanos's Office was one Jory had never visited either. Ah well. He was visiting now. He was mighty impressed by the furniture and everything else just outside of the office. But what caught his attention was the bird like creature sitting on its perch. The thing was staring at him intently. "Hallo, hallo,'' the badger said. It made a little chirpy sound. Jory grinned. He liked this thing. He'd stop by it on his way out again. He raised a hand \nd knocked on the Professor's door. |
Kace managed to find the DADA's office on the first floor. OH thank god! He was running and didn't wanna leave Tobias all alone with the dementors. He pounded on the door and hoped the professor heard his knocking. He didn't have TOO much time. He kept knocking and then he stopped waiting for an answer. Once he didn't get his answer in time he ran off and went to get another professor. |
*fiddles around with the timelines...* Quote:
HALLO HALLO HUMAN!! Hop hop hop! Couldn't flyyyy but hop hop hop! Thank whoever invented knocking on someone's door before entering right? Merlin knew, no student wanted to see their professor dancing with their cat. Even though...they probably already had at a certain campout a few months back. Letting Barnabus go back to sleep on the couch, she lowered the volume on the music and skipped over to open her door. "Hellooooo Mister Stonewall!" What a surpriiiiiiise! |
Quote:
"I've got something for you,'' the badger added, diving into his pocket and retrieving a small bag which contained a doll doing yoga. "It's just a thank you gift,'' he went on. "For being a great teacher.'' He was going to miss her and her classes. Admittedly, he had not been fond of the yoga at first but Jory had grown to like it. |
Quote:
"MISTER STONEWALL!" The Hufflepuff was suddenly enveloped in a HAPPY!CLINGY hug. "I LOOOOOVE IT! Thank yoouuu! OH, thank YOU for being such an excellent student and all around AMAZING person!" SHE WAS NEVER LETTING GO OF THIS HUG! |
Quote:
"Thanks, Professor!'' Jory said, returning the hug. "Keep up the wonderful job and the amazing lessons.'' Getting all the kids ready to take on the real world. He sniffed. No. No. He was not an emotional person. Probably just something in his eyes. |
