Nigel entered the Greenhouse, wondering what they would study this year in Herbology. "Hello. Professor Bentley". Nigel said then he looked around to see who had showed up before him. Hmm.. He wondered if he should wander before class actually started |

"So long as I'm not eaten I'm fine." He said as he approached the others. His eyes wandered the greenhouse from where he was now and they landed on the tank that was glowing a greenish-blue. |
Although she had a great summer holiday, Gwen was actually happy to be back. There was something about Hogwarts that made her feel good whenever she returned here. Hmm. With hasty steps, the sixth year made her way out of the castle and walked to the greenhouses. After a while, the girl found herself standing in front of the greenhouse six. Time for Herbology. Gwendolyn entered the greenhouse and approached the group of students who was already waiting. While making her way to the part of the greenhouse where everyone was standing, the sixth year looked around. Examining the tanks, a smirk appeared on her face. This place looked great. Now she really was in the mood for Herbology. ‘Hello, Professor Bentley’, she said with a small smile. |
Ethan couldn't be more pleased that Herbology was the first class of the day. He still needed to speak to Professor Bentley about.. things, but that could wait till after class. He was looking forward to today's lesson. The sixth year walked briskly through the grounds and slowed as he approached Greenhouse Six. Pausing in the doorway, green eyes took in the newly renovated greenhouse. Impressive. Throwing a smile to Bentley as he walked past her, he said, "Good morning, Professor.. the greenhouse looks great." And now for a seat? As the boy walked through, he spotted Minerva not too far away. Sliding in to the spot next to her, Ethan had a smile for her as well. "Hey, Min.. ready for class?" Good, she didn't look too anxious.. He hoped she would have fun today, since they were obviously working with water plants. Those were all sorts of interesting. |
It took Melanie a while to get out of the castle. A whole summer away from the school had made her mind a little fuzzy. She had wandered around for a while, running around, trying to find her way out before finally reaching the outdoors. Ah... that was definitely nice. Smiling and a bit relieved, she let out a deep breath. Was she late though? That thought made the Gryffindor run straight towards the greenhouse, attempting to tie her hair up in the process. She couldn't be late for her first herbology class of the term! That would be ridiculous! She stumbled inside and looked around. The lesson hadn't started yet, right? "Good... morning... Professor Bentley," Melanie panted. Ah... tired... "I'm not late right?" she asked, eyes wide. Because she didn't want to be. |

Rowan was slightly taken aback as she entered the greenhouse. It looked fabulous! "Hello Professor," she said with a smile. She walked further into the greenhouse, taking everything in. "Fantastic, just fantastic," she said, speaking a bit too loudly to herself. |
And for anyone else that wants to grab him :) Dylan walked down to the greenhouse wondering what the state of the greenhouse must be after he heard that there had been a big bang in an exploding plant. Man he had been really bummed to miss that and he hoped they could do a similar explosion type thing this term too, cause that would be really cool to see. He walked down to the greenhouses to see that it was all new and shiney and stuff, so the professor spent her summer doing that? Well whatever she thought was fun was cool with him, he entered the greenhouse to be met with tanks! What would they be doing with those? He went straight to the professors tank to see what she was looking at "Hey Professor Bentley" he looked in it but it was empty, no creatures or anything.. were they doing plants and stuff? well this was herbology! so plants it was "What you looking at professor? Is it one of the surprises you told me about before summer?" he asked though he couldnt see what the surprise was in a bunch of water plants, a surprise would be more like a plant that had teeth or something and was a bit dangerous. He hoped there would be something like that this term, ok so they start slow with some water stuff but he wanted some really amazing stuff like that man eating plant from last term! |
As Belle walked down to her first lesson of the day, Belle saw so many people. Belle was also interested in seeing Professor Bentley again. As she entered the classroom, Belle smiled and said, "Good morning Professor, how was your summer?" Then she took her seat and opened her notebook ready to take some notes. |
Spike loved his new timetable: for once, the first lesson back was his favourite. And the grin on his face somehow became even wider when he saw the makeover to Greenhouse Six. "Niiiiice," he said, as he paused in the doorway to take it all in. Finally moving in towards the glowing tank (oooooo!), Spike gave Professor Bentley a satisfied nod. "Good morning, Professor," he greeted, his eyes still twinkling with excitement. "Will this be open for extra-curricular studies at all?" he asked. He really hoped it would. Spike had never got the chance to do much work on aquatic plants. |
Wade wasn't much of a gardener, so the subject of Herbology didn't enthuse him.. but the mention of there being man-eating plants at Hogwarts last term peaked his interest. His interest peaked further at the glowing tanks in the greenhouse. It was cool to Wade, who walked in "Good day, Professor!" Somewhat beaming, as he looked around. |
SPOILER!!: More Responses! After ticking off a few more names from her student list, Seren checked the time. It was definitely time to get started now. "Alright, gather round!" she called out, waiting for the students to assemble into a makeshift group of some sort. "Welcome and welcome back! Please bear in mind all classroom rules, and please use your common sense. Gloves, are to be worn at all time... with the exception of today, as you won't be needed them." Seren cast a glance around the group, she couldn't hide her excitement, nope. "Now as many of you can see, greenhouse six has undergone a transformation... and I felt this was the perfect location to start our topic for the term." She paused here to give students the opportunity to think about what that might mean. "Does anybody want to hazard a guess as to what we'll be studying this term?"... "Feel free to take a look around, raise you're hand when you think you've worked it out." OOC: The lesson has officially started, do not announce your charrie arriving late if you have not posted already. Just pretend as if they've been here the whole time. Unless you want to lose points. The lesson will continue in approximately 10 hours from the time of this post. ONE answer/guess in your response please. |
"Aquatic plant life, professor?" Aurora asked, turning away from the tank she'd been staring into and joining the class with a HUGE excited grin on her face. She LOVED plants. And aquatic plants seemed even COOLER!! I wonder if any of them are carnivorous... she thought, glancing into another nearby tank. They HAD to be, right? Professor Bentley loved carnivorous plants, didn't she? AHHHH PLANTS! |
Jory drew his attention away from the tanks as Professor Bentley asked the class to gather around. "She looks really excited,'' he thought. "Maybe whatever today's topic is, it's one of her favourites.'' He cast another look around the Greenhouse before raising his hand. "Underwater plants, Professor,'' he said. With all the tanks around maybe they'd be cultivating them? |
Lilly went to join the class, moving away from the massive tank she had been having a look at. All the stuff inside it was really amazing. She couldn't wait to hear what they'd be doing with it all. Aquatic plant-y stuff. That was gonna be her answer until the older Slytherin girl said something along those lines. "Yeah, I agree with Aurora, Professor," Lilly said quietly. That sounded like a fun topic. Would've been even more fun with her twin, but oh well. She should really start looking on the bright side, like Violet would have if it was the opposite way round. Like it should've been. |
Alyssa thought to herself. The fact that they weren't going to be wearing their dragon hide gloves this time round meant that they wouldn't be working with anything that would be taking a bite out of them or hurt them in anyway. Then she looked at the tank filled with water in them and figured that maybe it had something to do with them. So she raised her hand, "Professor will we be working with Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean?" |
Rowan quickly raised her hand. "Water plants, Professor?" Rowan asked. She thought it was a safe guess, considering the new tanks and lights. |
Ariana who was there the wholllee time gathered around when instructed too and looked into the tank.. borriiingggggggggggg oh wait.. did the professor ask something. . . . que awkward blank staring.... . . "something to do with water plants or something.. maybe.." she said raising her hand or whatever aurora said.. ariana was so bad at this class, it was pathetic... she looked around the room.. Awkward turtleeee |
Right. Catch her breath. That would be smart. The Gryffindor took deep breaths in and out, trying to bring her heart rate back down to normal. Or just something that wasn't pounding loudly, would do too. No gloves this lesson? Why was that? She looked around the room, taking in the way it looked for the first time. The greenhouse had definitely gone through a transformation. Why was that though? Melanie had no idea whatsoever but supposed they'd find out anyways right. She rocked back and forth in her shoes, waiting for them to actually do something. Her mind wandered a bit, staring out into outer space before hearing the question. "Seaweed?" Melanie asked, after raising her hand. Because that grew in water right? And that was a plant... no? |
Laura was trying to think about what to say with this answer, she wanted to be all grown up and answer properly, she was now coming up-to fifteen and as such she had to be more grown up in class. "Professor will we be looking at plants that live in water?" Laura smiled, she would like to learn more about them. |
Violet was really loving how the Greenhouse had looked now. It looked rather exquisite! And Professor Bentley, judging by her happy demeanor, she was quite pleased with the result herself! Which made Violet giggle a little bit! Before she knew it the lesson had begun and Professor asked them what they'd be learning about this lesson. Violet paused looking around and bit her lower lip in the process. Hmmm...OH! She gasped a little bit seeing the buckets of water and the tank by the Professor. Violet smiled raising her hand and asked,"Would this lesson today have to do with us learning about some of the aquatic plant life, Professor?" She then lowered her hand placing it behind her back, along with her other other one as she waited for the Professor to let her know if she was correct or not! I mean really though, there was water everywhere practically! |

What we'll be studying this term? Well, there's tank in the greenhouse soooo "Alga, Professor." Messer answered after raising his hand. |
Sophie had to admit that it was a pretty sight to see. The glowing tank was very, very beautiful and put a smile on her face. Of course, Sophie would always like the classes where they learned new spells best, but that sounded like it was going to be a good one as well. Since everyone else was guessing aquatic plants, the Hufflepuff chose not to say the repeat the same thing, and since she wouldn't guess anything else, she decided to just keep watching the beautiful glow. It was very beautiful indeed. |
Zhenya gave the Professor a smile, "I'm sure they will, thanks Professor," she said. She felt things improving. There were just things she had to take care of first. The lesson began, and she felt herself sinking into a familiar hush, eager to watch the lesson progress. She looked around, noting all the tanks. Although she couldn't really identify much that was in the guess, she was sure she could take a guess. She raised her hand and said "Professor, it looks as though we will be studying the water plants." That would be VERY interesting! She couldn't remember ever really doing much on water plants. |
Eliza was determined to be a better Herbology student this year. Her first attempts hadn't been all that admirable, because really, she wasn't very interested. But this year she was going to try harder. You don't know if you don't like something until you really give it a good try, Eliza, she told herself as she listened to Professor Bentley ask for guesses about the lesson. She looked at the new tanks and arrangements in the greenhouse. Lots of water... She had noticed her professor gazing at something that glowed earlier. Maybe deep sea things? They glow sometimes, right? She raised her hand to give her guess, even if it was similar to others'. "Professor, might we be studying saltwater plants?" She figured she was on track. But coral...isn't that considered more of a living...animal sort of, than a plant? I'm not sure... The second year decided to keep quiet and wait to learn more since she really wasn't well versed on the subject. |
