Student Seating Area

http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9152efb8.png

Board candidates? Debates? Well all this hullabaloo is for the benefit of you, the Hogwarts student. So why should you sit with everyone else? Don’t be silly! Located on the left and front of the pavilion is the Hogwarts seating area. With signs placed all around the rows of chairs, it’s not hard to spot, and the perfect place to chat with your friends. Just make sure that you pay attention to what the candidates are saying: they do have the ability to make the rest of your time at Hogwarts completely amazing... or a living nightmare.

In each seat is a voting ballot that will be explained and used towards the end of the debate and a program/agenda for the event so you have an idea of what the plan is for the day. Sit back and relax and feel free to have conversations amongst yourself, because your seating area has a special Muffliato charm that helps keep the noise down.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the dunking extravaganza.... Debate!
HOGWARTS STUDENTS ONLY.

For anyone...

The debate...

The Prefect had of course seen the announcement some time ago but he hadn't been sure if he wanted to go. It sounded boring at first but after the muggle studies lesson he thought otherwise. Those candidates were going to change Hogwarts and Daichi hoped not for the worse.

Maybe that was why he was here? He grabbed a small program book and sat down at the student section. If this was going to get boring he luckily could still look outside and watch the pretty snow fall from the sky. Or Maybe chat with someone...IF any student came.

It wasn't that hard to find a place to sit, only one of the many chairs had already been taken. Xavier thought he was one of the prefects but she wasn't 100 % sure. She sat in the row and chair directly behind him.

Xavier dipped her chin into her chest, her raven black hair combed to the side of her head so as to not block her vision. Her purple gaze first swept the pavilion where the debate was going to be, and then she noticed the voting ballot. "What's this?" she asked herself, picking it up to examine it.

*snags*

Sky knew her job perfectly. Talk her aunt up to anyone and everyone she could get her paws into ahold of, be they student or professor. And luckily for her, she spotted the first such person as soon as she came into the student seating area. One of the prefects for her her own house, too. Awesome.

She moved over to the seat beside his and sat down, moving her jacket out of the way as she did so. "So, have you decided which candidate you're rooting for yet?" That was a good first question, right?

It luckily didn't take long before the other students arrived. He really would have looked like a fool if he had been the only one. His brown eyes followed a girl whom he vaguely remembered to be in Ravenclaw and when she sat down on a chair directly behind him the Slytherin turned around.

"Hi~" he greeted rather cheerfully and waved his hand at the young girl.

Feeling a presence beside him, Daichi turned to look and found another student. This one he knew because she was in the same house. "Hey..you're ....uh...Sky right?" he asked, sounding a bit unsure as he bit his lower lip. It was normal for him to forget names so he hoped he called her the right name.

His gaze went to the debate platform for a second as he thought. "No, i don't yet so i'm going to pay attention to the question and answering part" he answered and pointed with his finger to the program book.

DaniDiNardo 02-01-2013 06:06 PM

Why was she here again? She more than likely wouldn't be paying attention to anything that was being said but meh, the castle would be boring with most everyone over here....but then...what if no one came because everyone decided to stay at the castle????? She didn't want to be the only one who wasted her time showing up!! >_<

Alexa walked around the Pavillion until she came to the spot where students were suppose to sit. This was it right? So far she saw three others. That wasn't so bad...at least she wasn't alone! Yeah, she'd look at the positives to make herself feel better until Cassia showed up. The Snake was one of the reasons she bothered coming and she would have been SORELY disappointed if the girl didn't show up but for now she would chat with those present because she could and she wanted to. Yup.

"That thing's one of the voting ballots they keep telling us about." She said after hearing the girl mutter her confusion. "I guess this means we get to vote, huh?" She gave the girl a look over. Was she new? Probably not but Lex didn't know her. That sorta made her new...didn't it...? That seemed logical enough...

"I'm Alexa and you are?" GRIN, because it was always good to be friendly until given a reason to be otherwise.

And this person had definitely given her reason to be otherwise. Oh, she was asking about votes. Okay, so maybe Lex would join the conversation despite who was heading it but only because she liked talking, nothing else.

"I know who I'm voting for!" Nod nod nod. She did, in fact she'd known for a while and she told her father that he had to vote for that candidate too because you just couldn't beat good quality when it presented itself. She plopped down into a seat just behind them, that way she and Cassia could sit together if she came and besides the row was empty in case Mo and Alice decided to show up--Lottie too!..Did Aidan come to things like this? "And I guess you're voting for your aunt, was it?" Something like that.

Oooo, lookit! He was the Slyhterin boy she'd met down in the dungeons when everyone got locked out! The one that jumped when she suddenly started screaming. She beamed over at him. "HAI!" She threw her overcoat onto the seat next to her, you know, hinting to anyone that that seat was taken. It would probably help if she had a few more coats because she wanted people to know that row was taken...unless none of them showed up...in which case it wasn't.

"There's going to be a question and answer thingy?" How come she didn't know about this? Then again...she didn't know about any of this before yesterday...

Quite the oblivious one she was.

Daichi was still talking to Sky so naturally he looked at her when he heard a rather loud HAI! From somewhere beside him. The Slytherin got startled and snapped his head around to see a Gryffindor beaming at him. He winches in pain at the harsh movement and rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand.

"Hey" he answered back and gave a smile. She looked familiar and he remembered having seen her at the Slytherin Common room entrance last year. Seemed like history repeats itself 'cause he got startled again...."what was your name again?" he asked as he absentmindly played with his badge that was pinned to his jacket.

"It says so here" he held the program open and pointed to the question and answering part with his finger just as the first few candidates stepped up at the platform. As well as...Daichi frowned... "Isn't that the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain?" what was she doing there? The Prefect thought only none students could get elected....WHATHADHEMISSED?! :whaa:

the fastest seeker 02-01-2013 07:43 PM

Lex & all of you! ^^

And now that she had completed her shopping task, she was so happy and relieved since going short on candy had caused some not so pleasant mood swings but now all was good. Her candy stash was refilled and nothing could go wrong unless she was robbed! But naah she hid her candy very well and her dormmate,Peyton was a trusted fella.

With a grin on her face, Cassia headed towards where those debates stuff were held. Not because she was interested in them. Pffft..Why would she?! But because she and Lex had decided to meet there. Besides those stuff about debating and voting were new to the snake and she wanted to witness it all. Though she couldn't get all of it but still.

It didn't take her a lot till she got to the seating area since many people were heading there. She just followed the crowds. Easy! And right away she spotted Lex sitting among other students. Immediately, Cassia made her way towards the lioness and plopped down next to her. Then she looked over at the other students and flashed them a grin. "Hi everyone!" Because she was in a good mood! Though she only recognized the prefect...because he was the prefect. The others she didn't know their names but was pretty sure she had seen them around the castle and at classes. But something they talked about caught her attention"We can vote! I thought only older students were able to! Oh and I'm Cassia." Because she was more important than the people on the platform.

Then to Lex, she said, "Anything interesting happened yet? Any cool questions?" She wondered. Not that she cared about this but she felt the need to ask since they were supposedly meant to watch and stuff. "Did you go shop around or not?!" Now this question was so more important than the questions being asked on the platform..Not that she had header any yet. but because she was curious she leaned forwards trying to make out what was going on.

FireboltAvis88 02-01-2013 08:13 PM

Alyssa decided that it would be interesting to hear what the candidates had to say before she cast her vote. "This is going to be fun. I wonder do we get to dunk those we don't vote for? Somebody...or rather a lot of somebodies, are going to get wet. Wait a minute is Carter wearing float wings on his arms? Is he afraid of drowning?'

Alyssa looked around hoping to see Anya. She was his sister. 'Anya would know why he is wearing those ridiculous things. Or maybe she's hiding because she embarrassed that he IS wearing those.' Alyssa thought to herself, trying to muffle her giggling.

She couldn't wait for the debate to start.

.

At first she didn't know if the prefect was talking to her, she didn't know him and he was talking to other people also. She craned her head around to see if someone was behind her, and then turned back in slight embarassment when she finally realized that he had been waving to her.

"Hi..." ,she paused shyly for a moment before going on "Are you a prefect? I'm Xavier, by the way." An awkward finish.

Xavier didn't know she had been talking loud enough for anyone else to hear, but this girl seemed to have pretty impressive hearing.

"I thought only the adults would be able to vote, but I hope you're right." It would so much fairer if we got to pick, since we are going to be the ones affected, thought Xavier to herself. "Who do you want to win or not to win?"

DuckyLinJi 02-02-2013 12:15 AM

mentions of cassia and alyssa as well ^^

N'AWWWW~! Wasn't she an adorable shy one?!

Daichi had to resist the urge to ruffle her hair because he never liked it when others did that to him. Still, his hand was itching to do it so he grabbed his wrist and held it down.

He raised an eyebrow however when the girl looked behind her as if she was looking for someone but shrugged it off quickly. "I am" he smiled and pointed to the green badge with the big P on it on his sweater. "Nice to meet you Xavier" he dipped his head in a small bow of greeting. "My name is Daichi Katharos" and he held a hand out for the girl to shake. "You're in Ravenclaw , right?"

Hearing another Hi coming from somewhere beside him, Daichi noticed another slytherin girl take place beside the gryffindor next to him. "Hey Cassia" he waved to her and then to Alyssa who had entered the student seating area as well before he looked at the platform again. When were they going to start? ...and he was hungry...mweh.

*throws him here for you all*

Making his way through the seating areas, Airey bypassed the general boring seating area for now and made his way to the student seating area. Truth be told he was hoping to recruit a student or two or ten to help him find his missing tie. Pebbles was still gone as well, but he was somewhat hoping that she would get lonely and come home on her own.

Wishful thinking, Mr. Astronomer.

"Good day good day," he greeted the students that were already present before spotting a certain duck TIE loving Slytherin and taking a seat riiiiiiiiiiiight behind him. Airey took a peek at the candidates on stage and his eyes instantly lit up. So the gossip rag WAS right about the one lad wearing Muggle things. Airey would have to go take a peek at those later - maybe ask to borrow them as well?

"So, you all rooting for anyone in particular?"

lazykitty 02-02-2013 03:58 AM

Too many to quote, so all of yous!

Merlin! So many people! And was that Professor Flamsteed? Oh well, it matter. Sky just started answering everyone's questions, starting with the prefect. "Yep, Sky. And you're.......Daichi, right?" She did remember, mmhmm. And there was little miss I-act-however-I-want. She really should learn the girls name... but later. Unless she or someone else wanted to fill her in? Oh right.... Alexa. Noted to memory banks. "Of course I'm voting for my aunt! Provided we get to, anyway. Wasn't it only the big main election we couldn't vote in?" Oh fudge, and they had just had that class, too. Her family wasn't going to be very happy to hear that. But really, it could be very confusing sometimes.

Op, there was someone else joining them now. "Hello, Cassia! I'm Sky!" She might have ate some of her newly bought candy on the way. She hadn't seen a problem with that, just as long as she didn't disturb the debate. Really, sugar didn't affect her that much, just made her slightly more excitable. But, she was a fifteen year old girl. It was suppose to affect her that way.

And she had better greet the professor too. "Hello, Professor Flamsteed!"

Rosa Chispa Princessa 02-02-2013 09:08 AM

Oichi was still a bit taken aback that a Third Year had won a spot as an MC for the debates and she had not. It had to be that extensive detention so early in term. But still, a little THIRD YEAR know it all Ravenclaw. And really, how much could a 13 year old really know. This just did not seem right. The other two had titles in their respective houses. Whatever. I have got to calm down. My streamer idea is here and I was part of an exclusive planning committee. That means something. Oichi started to calm as she grabbed a program and started to thumb through it. By the looks of it this debate was gonna be quite a hoot and Oichi was glad she was gonna get to sit back and enjoy it.

Oooh good, he had her name right! Daichi gave himself a little good job pat on his own shoulder that he was able to remember a name right. Though, she did have an easy name... And a bit odd but he wasn't going to say that , heh.

"HmmHmm" The Slytherin nodded his head in response and leaned back in the chair. ["B]Your aunt is a candidate? Good luck then~" he eye smiled but then shrugged his shoulders. "I actually don't know as well how this is all going to work, but i bet they will explain soon" And they should hurry up! Cause Daichi was hungry.....Maybe he could get some food from that table over there?

EH?! What was the professor doing here? This is a STUDENT sitting area so was he here to spy on them all and make sure nothing happened? Well then he clearly did not have faith in a Prefect! Hmpf!

Still, he wasn't going to tell the man to go sit at the other section. He wasn't THAT stupid! "Hello professor" he greeted back when he sat down riiiiiight behind him. The Slytherin had to turn around to look at him now. "Professor? I saw the announcement on the student board, did you find your tie yet?" Daichi had been a bit shocked when he had read it but once reading it was NOT the duck tie he felt better.

CAUSE THE DUCK TIE WAS HIS!

hullo everyone! ^^

Debate stuff for the uhmm, that... uhm, BoG candidate stuff, right? Juliet had nothing else to do the whole day so she wandered around Hogsmeade and visited this area. As soon as she entered, she saw the Slytherin prefect all smiles and whatnot. Daichi is greeting everyone in the room which is a new thing because Juliet used to see him as a shy person. Or maybe that's just her.

Then she saw students taking their seats, some mingling with the people they know and look, Professor Airey is here. She smiled towards the professor before taking a seat. Has it started yet? Well everything looks set. Juliet wants to hear all of their Q&A stuff.

This will be exciting!

sweetpinkpixie 02-02-2013 01:56 PM

"Good day, Miss Carter-Hope," Airey waved to the young Slytherin with a wave and a few seconds of suspicious eyeing. Slytherins were always the suspicious ones...but it was also the SEEMINGLY innocent ones that were the ones to surprise you the most.

Yep. Like this one. Right here. BINGO.

"Hello, Mr. Katharos," he greeted again and maaaaaaaybe looked the boy up and down once or twice, pausing on his pockets to see if there was anything blue sticking out of them. AHA! A cover up attempt? Or was the boy as innocent as Medea had turned out to be? Only time would tell. "No," he said while trying not to man wibble too much or too obviously. "Pebbles...is missing as well..."

He actually had posters with him of her as well, but was still somewhat in denial and therefore a little reluctant to put them up.

"Do YOU know anything, Mr. Katharos?" Stare.

Oh! Hello there Miss Kim. Airey returned the young lady's smile with one of her own before returning to STARING at Mr. Katharos.

DuckyLinJi 02-02-2013 02:22 PM

Ooooh Juliet was here as well~!

Daichi waved enthusiastically at the younger Slytherin and smiled. He then patted the seat next to him. "Juliet! come sit here~!"

His smile faded away slowly when he noticed that the Professor was staring at him. The Prefect frowned for a second before nervously fidgeting with his sweater. "Who is Pebbles, sir?" he asked because during his visit they had not discussed a Pebbles..atleast not that he could remember.

And then he was staaaaaaaaring at him again! It made Daichi nervous! WHY was he staring at him like that?! But then he got it. The Slytherin's eyes widened at the YOU part of the question and shook his head.

"N-no i don't!" he stuttered, but it wasn't a caught-in-the-act kind of stutter...it was a why-am-i-being-accused-of-something-i-didn't-do-it's-making-me-nervous stutter!

It always makes Juliet smile to see Daichi act like that. Juliet then transferred and sat next to Daichi. It's always better to sit next to someone you know, especially to an event that students MAY probably find boring. Okay maybe not but Juliet is guessing that not all of those people will WOW her.

"Daichi" she sat next to him with a smile. "You look well, Prefect" she nudge his shoulder. That was a good sign. Well next to them was Professor Airey and apparently looking all dashing for the event. "Nice tie professor" she complimented. Well this guy certainly loves suit. Even the thing he donated for the auction is a suit. His cousin really wanted to buy those.

Pebbles?

Who's Pebbles? Not that Juliet wanted to interfere with their conversation but isn't that a pet's name? A name you give to a crup or a pygmy puff? Whatever it is they're talking about, Juliet is sure she doesn't have a clue with it but it's fun hearing them, or hearing Daichi stutter.

:whaa:

Of course Lex couldn't help but giggle when she realized that she had somehow managed to startle him again. At this school there were just some people who had the most amusing reactions to any given situation. You had Oakey with his sour lime face and now this snake with his whole being startled easily thing.

"I'm Alexa." She offered, not particularly offended by the fact that he didn't remember her name. She didn't exactly go broadcasting it from the top of the Gryffindor tower now did she? "And I don't know your name...what is it--OHHHHH! Hey lookit, you have one of those prefect badges!" She leaned forward in her chair so she could get a better look at it. "Do you polish it all the time? I think Oakey does."

She looked over at what he was pointing on on his program but quickly turned her attention away when he mentioned a Gryffindor Captain. "Alice?! Where?!" Her eyes ran the length of the place and spotted the girl at the dunk tanks. This meant she wouldn't be sitting with her...awww..."Do you know why she's over there?" Because no one ever bothered to tell her anything...

Finally Cassia showed up. This couldn't have come at a better time seeing as she just found out that one of the people she had been saving a seat for wouldn't be sitting with her at all. Well she still had her because she didn't bail on her and decide to remain back at the castle. Lex grinned up at her and patted the seat next to her where she ended up sitting anyway. It was just a thing.

"Yeah I think we can because see?" She pointed to the ballot thingy. "I don't think these would be here if we couldn't and if they're just here to taunt us then I'm incendio-ing mine before we leave." That would teach them to play jokes that weren't funnny.

As for anything interesting, she shook her head. Not that I can see. They're all taking their seats right now and I think the Headmistress is sitting up at the dunk tanks with them-say, do you think she'll get dunked too?" She looked pass the girl and over at the dunk tank where they were all settling in. "I actually think you're right on time for the questions. They should be starting soon." Oh and as for the shopping bit. "No...not really. I mean...I ran out of chocolate frogs and had to buy a bit more but then...I got so excited at having so many that I ate my way through nearly all of them..." It wasn't exactly something she was proud of but there it was.

"Pfffft, adults don't always have a brain. I think it's great that we'll get to vote!" GRIN. Unless of course the ballots were just there for looking pretty purposes in which case that'd totally suck and she'd have to make her father make a formal complaint. She couldn't do it herself because no one would take a 12 year old seriously.

"I'm afraid I don't know your name..." She trailed off, hoping the girl would take the hint and introduce herself.

She did remember, mmhmm.

Yeah, she figured as much and in some way it made sense, you know, the whole voting for family thing. Meh. Her vote was still for the one who walked around with chocolate frogs in his pockets, he was a smart one who would receive votes.

"If we can vote then I'm voting for Mr. Vinteren because he's super nice." Nod.

Airey would have to go take a peek at those later - maybe ask to borrow them as well?

"So, you all rooting for anyone in particular?"

And LOOK, it was Professor Airey! And he was sitting next to her!!! In the seat she was saving for someone else!!! Eeek!--oh but wait...Alice was up there by the dunk tanks...the seat technically didn't have an owner anymore. Okay. False alarm. Everything was going to be just fine

"Hai Professor!"

She glanced over at the dunk tanks for a second, not wanting to miss anything in case the equipment was faulty and someone ended up falling in before they were meant to. That would surely make things a bit more interesting.

"I'm rooting for Mr. Vinteren or and probably Mr. Vanderbilt because he's Vickers' uncle." Those were basically the only two she knew..."What about you Professor?"

Smiling at the other Slytherin, "Nice to meet you Sky," Cassia said to the girl. Whom she had noticed around in classes and all. But never got the chance to speak to her. Not that this was the time to chat and all but it wouldn't hurt exchanging some words, right? "Who are you rooting for, Sky?" She asked curiously.

Minerva walked into the seating area. She was checking to make sure everything was going smoothly, but since she wasn't an MC she figured she'd find a seat for the event as well. Checking her shirt and fluffing her hair Minerva made her way in. Smiling at everyone as she looked around where to sit.

She felt like she had to look professional since she was part of making the debate and had some great adult clothes from her intern ship. Finding a seat she wasn't sure how clothes they were to starting. Minerva found an empty seat and sat down hoping this would be interesting and successful.

lazykitty 02-03-2013 03:23 AM

All of yous again!

Wait a minute....... why was she getting the suspicious eye?! She had nothing to do with the disappearance of the professor's tie. In fact, she hadn't even known about it until she saw one of the posters. And what was Pebbles? His dog friend? But then how do you explain the lint roller thing? Maybe a bald dog friend? "Maybe he ran away...?" Was probably still in the grounds somewhere if that was the case. Hogwarts could be a dog paradise, their oasis in the desert, if you will.

"Thank you," she replied to Daichi with a smile. Though, she didn't really think her aunt needed luck. She was a pro at this debating stuff, yep yep. "Honestly, I don't know exactly how it works either. But I think the candidates with the lowest number of votes are the ones that get dunked.....?" Which she kind of hoped happened to that brunette one. The one that looked a little thick around the middle. She seemed snooty to her.

Mr. Vinteren? "You don't think he seems a bit..... I don't know, shifty?" Yep, she had gotten a bad vibe off him. Thing was, she didn't have any proof that he was shifty. She couldn't even put her finger on why she felt that way. She just did. Hopefully though, it would just turn out to be nothing.

"Nice to meet you too," she greeted the other Slytherin to join their ranks. Man, popular corner. Not that Sky minded. Nope, she was in her element here. "I'm rooting for Roxanne Carter." Yep, her aunt. And we'll just see who else after this debate, when the candidates have given their answers. Though, the floaty wearer was gaining some points. The devices showed that he was game for anything. Besides, he looked a little familiar to Sky.....

SPOILER!!: Daichi & Juliet

Airey looked down at his tie and half smiled. It WAS a nice tie, but not as nice as the one that had been taken from him. "Thank you, Miss Kim. You are looking very nice." Airey could always appreciate a student that put effort into their clothing and didn't just wear jeans and a t-shirt on their days outside of the classroom.

But now. Back to Mr. Katharos.

"Pebbles is my pet rock," he explained. "You may have noticed the pink pillow on my desk when you visited the office or the pink house by the sofa? She...went missing along with my tie." And NO...he was not going to start man wibbling right here in the middle of the seating area where all students could see him. Nope.

Airey eyed the prefect up and down a few times, still feeling a little suspicious about the whole thing, but if there was anything he was confident about this boy it was that he didn't lie. The boy had been nothing but brutally honest in his office after all. "Well...if you DO find out something," he said, glancing at Miss Kim as well. "Do let me know and there just may be a reward in your future."

Oh, look at that! How in the galaxy had he not noticed that he had sat down to Miss Cambridge? "Miss Cambridge," he greeted with a grin and then another glance towards the stage. WHEN where they going to start this debate? Seemed like they had been here for ages...which is why he pulled up the sleeve on his left arm to check his sundial watch - which worked better out here than the one in his classroom.

"Mr. Vinteren would be the smartly dressed gentleman, yes?" Men who dressed properly in a suit certain had his vote - which is why that boy up there with the muggle floaties would not be getting his. Even IF he was paying homage to muggles. Wearing a suit now showed confidence. Confidence that you were not going to get dunked. "Vickers? Afraid I am not familiar with this person."

"Me? Oh, I don't know just yet. I suppose I will find out soon though." Like once things STARTED.

"No sir needed, Miss Somerlad," Airey winked while giving her a two finger salute. Reminded him too much of astronaut training and that made him depressed and brought up memories that he would rather not ever remember. His one hand absently went to his lower back and rubbed it for a moment. "A VERY diplomatic answer and the same thing I am doing. Although...I do take what the Daily Prophet wrote about each candidate rather seriously," he nodded.

Meaning the article about each of their's fashion sense.

The debate was starting, Asilin clapped after every name that was called. She would have to wait until the questions started before she decided which position to take and who to cheer for. She wondered if any of the candidates had studied divination, they might read her mind and use Asilins opinions in the debate! She trusted that nobody would do that. Although, she could figure out who she was going to cheer for and then channel arguements with them. Divination was Asilin's finest subject. Despite the Slytherin's dreaming and scheming, the girl knew that the contestants would have lots of awesome material in store.

She had forgot to grab a program, so she was unsure about the details for the dunking. If it was what she thought it was, Asilin was more excited for the debate; rather then the dunking. But it would still be fun, she'd just have to wait and see.

The Slytherins eyes twinkled with joy as Juliet came to sit next to him. He held his hand away before she would sit on it and looked at the debate podium when the Professor began to talk. But upon hearing Juliet, he turned back and blushed juuuust a tiny bit. "Thanks....i can Finally sleep normally" he grinned. It was true, last year he had been looking horrible. Bags under his tired eyes, mood switches and on the edge of tearing up every second because of the nerve wrecking OWL exams. He eyed Juliet up and down and wondered how she was holding up the whole studying for her exams. "Are you already studying for your OWLS?" or was she one of those people who only had to check their books a few minutes before time and she would pass?

Eh, he didn't like it when someone got close to him. Only his girlfriend Indiana could...and perhaps Juliet because she was a friend...and Kurumi but she wasn't here anymore.

Daichi's eyes went to look at the stage as well and shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe Sue's a judge?" he answered, not knowing he had just given the right answer. "Oh and.. My name is Daichi..not DaiWOAH" he quickly added before she would think something else.

Wait...Oakey polishes his badge?! "For real?" Daichi laughed out loud with his high pitched dolphin sound. "No..no i don't polish it every day" he snickered. "I DO take care of it like making sure it doesn't get stolen or something...but polishing it everyday?" naaah!

Oh...maaaaybe it wasn't such a good idea to gamble in front of a Professor. But Daichi knew he wouldnt mind. They had made a bet already in the man's office about the duck tie.

Pet rock? Ah so he had a pet! ..wait..."A-a rock...Professor?" he asked again just to make sure he had heard correctly. He then tried to remember if he had seen a pink pillow on the desk when he had been painting those toy action figures. He nodded slowly with a frown on his face. He did remember...something...oh well, if the Professor said it was there it was. It was his office of course.

Again, the Slytherin felt nervous as the man looked at him up and down as if he was hiding something. It was a uncomfortable feeling being stared at like that so he was happy that he Finally stopped.

And then he said that magical word that made Daichi snap his head up. He looked at the Professor with twinkeling eyes. "REWARD?!" ooooh he liked the sound of that! "What kind of reward? The Headmistress had promised me last year if i found her brooch...i would get a personal chef to make food at home!" he never found the brooch though...which was saaaad.

But. "How are we supposed to find it? We can't just walk in to rooms that's rude!"

After visiting the ever dynamic and amiable Professor James, Beezus finally decided to follow her fellow Hogwartians to Hogsmeade. The debate was up, so even if most of her friends had dates and whatnot, she was still going to have something worthwhile to come here for. Besides, as Prefect, she had to be more involved with the election taking place at their school, for their school and concerning everyone in their school.

She looked around first once she had entered before walking over to some familiar faces. She pulled the beanie off her head as she neared. "Hello Professor Flamsteed!" Beezus smiled broadly at the man. "Hey, Dai." and then there also was, "Juliet, didn't expect to see you here." She shot a smile towards Cassia and Alyssa before settling into one of the comfy seats next to Alexa. "It's not starting yet, right?"

The woman's head was on fire and if Lex was a little less quick-witted than people made her out to be then she might have actually made an attempt at trying to put it out with Aguamenti but as things stood she was a real smart cookie so she knew BETTER. Yes. Believe it or not she did. "It's really nice hair though. During the Winter Wonderland--you remember when they had the meet and greet for the Headmistress right?--well back then I asked her to touch it...she didn't let me though and when I think about it she didn't want any of my cookies either..." Hmmm...now that she thought about it...she was a little offended. "I hoped she gets dunked too...juuuust because." She said, smirking just a little while maintaining that look of innocence that she was oh so good at wearing. "Yeah, Professor Cerulean's here too but did you notice Alice?" She said, pointing to her ickle parent up by the dunk tanks.

She turned all her attention to the snake. "I'm voting for Mr. Vinteren. You?" Because knowing who Cassia was voting for was IMPORTANT to her. Yup. She cared about his bestie's opinions. "And I'll stop by Honeyduke's when this is over I guess. I kinda have too anyway or I'll run out of candy before Christmas." Then the season wouldn't be so jolly.

Hmmmm...shifty...?

"No, not really." She answered honestly. The man was really nice and he gave compliments. "I like him, he's a cool dude and he gave me a chocolate frog when I got upset." That was really all she cared about. When she went to that boring meet and greet hardly any of the candidates gave her the time of day but he gave her something better than the time of day which put him a cut above everyone else no matter what anyone said.

"Why do you ask? Do you think he might be shifty?"

Was it just her or did the Professor seem a little distracted by whatever was going on on the platform with the dunk tanks? She followed his gaze but couldn't find anything interesting. They were all getting settled and talking unimportant stuff. Why would he be fascinated by that? Oh Professor, so very strange sometimes but at least he grinned at her. Not many Professor did that...Bellaire being among the mean ones...Scabior too but then...she didn't think he knew how to smile. Someone might have been dropped a little too often as a baby--or maybe he was never hugged as a child! Eeep! Someone needed to fix that!

Smartly dressed? This called for another look to the dunk tanks. How would she know? She wasn't watching what they were wearing. "Um...I guess so...uh...he's the one Scary-Bat Girl says looks like James Bond...whoever that is." Did that help? Do you see him now Professor? "Well yeah, I'm voting for him because he's a lovely man." Nod. "And you wouldn't know Vickers. He's one of the seventh years who abandoned me at the end of last term." Because that's what they did you know. They ABANDONED.

"Ohhh...so you're one of the indecisive ones.--Oh! Oh! Oh! Did you find Pebbles? Do you still need help from me and Alice??" She was sooooo ready to hop on the case.

Of course Lex giggled again when he suddenly leaned back and got all flaily about her getting up close and personal with his badge. "You're really funny, you know? Also, you remind me of Dylan--do you know Dylan? You should, he's in your house, Quidditch Captain, my ickle parent." BEAM. "When I just met him he got all flaily about his personal space too, he wouldn't let me touch his hair either." And merlin, what kind of name was DaiWOAH?? Parents came up with the strangest names. Did they forget their children had to live with them afterwards??

She tilted her head and gave him a puzzled look. "You call Alice, Sue? How come?" Alice didn't look like a Sue...nah, she looked just like an Alice--or Biter. She looked like a Biter too. "And how come she gets to be a Judge, huh?"--WAIT, stop the press! His name wasn't DaiWOAH. This. Made. Sense. "OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!" This name was more acceptable. "Well hai Daichi!" GRIN.

"Uh-huh, at least I think it's him. But I know one of you prefect-y people do and it's not you." The next thing he said almost had her laughing but she held it in. "That's good for you. Maybe you can teach Oakey that lesson so he can keep his badge next time." And she would say no more.

"BEE!" Bee had come to the debates too!!

Lex waved wildly at the girl as she approached the Student's seating area but apparently she didn't have to because the girl was heading right over to her. She beamed up at her as she took a seat.

As for her question. "Ummmm..."she glanced over at the dunk tanks for what might have been the millionth time and this time she SIGHED because this was all getting ridiculous. "No. They're just up there being boring and staring. I think some were waving just now to the people over there but that's whatever." She looked to her again. "Is this going to be one of those boring grown-up things?"

His one hand absently went to his lower back and rubbed it for a moment. "A VERY diplomatic answer and the same thing I am doing. Meaning the article about each of their's fashion sense.

Another reason for the Professor being nice. Though if she wasn't to call him sir what would she call him. Perhaps Professor was enough, she could live with that. Copying his COOL move, Cassia saluted the man back. Diplomatic! The snake grinned hearing the compliment. It was one ,right. Oh and she couldn't believe she was unintentionally doing something right and like a professor. She never succeeded in that when she tried. Turned out her nature was good she was just going to follow it from now on.

The Daily Prophet. The third year hadn't thought of checking that. Her father always do of course. "Oh..I'm going to check those out." She said with a nod. "You know to be sure of my decision." Isn't this what they were supposed to do. Though the snake took a lot of time deciding anything. So she hoped by the time she decided the votes would still be on. "We should think this through, right?" Because he was a professor and all so he'd know about those stuff.

Cassia nodded still watching the Headmistress's hair while Lex talked. Oh the winter wonderland. She sire remembered that and it made her think what do the prefects have in store this term. "It is nice indeed." She agreed. "She didn't let you touch it." Cassia repeated stroking her chin. "I wonder why..Do you think it's fake?" The snake asked turning her gaze to her friend now. It was just a random thought that occurred to her but now that she had said it aloud it really sounded legit. Why else wouldn't the woman let Lex touch it. Everyone liked their hair to be touched. Well, of course the people who were going to touch should wash their hands well. And no cookies too! "That is really weird. Who would refuse free cookie!" No one! That was the answer. Looking again at the people on the platform. "Oh Alice your captain? No I can't see her she said. "Though there are many people.. When are they going to start. We don't have forever." Yup they were so busy here. Somehow.

Vinteren? Cassia paused thinking that she had heard this name before. "Hmm..Do we know him?" She asked curiously and by we she sure meant her and Lex. "I still don't know actually." She answered shrugging. " I'm going to think hard about this." yup..She was going to take lots of time deciding.

As he was taking she saw someone else join. She recognized the Ravenclaw prefect right away. The snake grinned and waved at the girl then nudged Lex and whispered, "What is the Ravenclaw's prefect name again?" Her memory was lousy one you know. Back to candy. "You should christmas is nothing without candy." Everyone knows that. "By the way will you go home for the holidays?" She asked curiously because she was.

For anyone who wants to snag her. ^_^

She's heard of this Board of Governors thing that's been going on since...since the summer and honestly, Peyton wasn't all that interested. But then there was the fact that these people were trying to earn her vote and whomever won and such would rule Hogwarts or something.

Peyton worded it that way, anyway. Her daddy had explained it all in a letter and that's why she was here today. Because her dad told her she had to come and check every of the candidates out and see what would benefit her.

Couldn't he come over and do it for her? HE was the dad. Wasn't he supposed to look out for her well being or something? But she HAD to learn to be responsible. Booo!

Whatever. Peyton figured it'd still be a nice walk down here and it was an excuse to wear a pretty dress. Not that she needed excuses to wear whatever she wanted. She took a seat at the front and payed attention to the introductions.

OH!

LOOK AT THE CUTE LITTLE OLD MAN!:x3:

Peyton wanted to pinch his cheeks and feed him tea and sugar buns. Could she do that if she voted for him? He WOULD want the best for Hogwarts' students, right? He was old that meant experienced, it was good, right?

Oh, but then there was that Quidditch player.:eyebrows:

If she voted for him could she have his autograph and his broom? It was only fair, come on.

Peyton sat and watched the candidates. Decisions, decisions.

Juliet curtsy when Professor Flamsteed complimented her back. yes, she curtsied and she has no exact reason as to why she just did that. Meh, it's nothing. Maybe the professor didn't see her? Which is really unlikely. Besides Juliet is quite used to her practices in ballet where they curtsy. The gesture was more of a mannerism when she meets someone. "Thanks, Professor" she giggled.

Her head turned to Daichi as he saw him sort of blushed to what she just said. Well, about him being glowing and healthy. Which is really a good sign. It just means that...

i can Finally sleep normally

See? That's nice to hear.............................. WAIT, what? Juliet's eyes flickered after hearing those words coming out from Daichi. "Did you not sleep normally before?" was he stressing about something else then? "Prefect stuff making you busy?" she said, really concerned about this. Must be the pressure from his surrounding right? He has big shoes to fill in now that he is a prefect.

A familiar face greeted her. Beezus. Juliet, didn't expect to see you here. Juliet smiled at her. Does it look odd that she's around this place? "Got bored and decided to come here" yup, that's pretty much the whole reason why she's here. She's at least happy though that she's with some of her house mates and school mates as well. "Long time no see, prefect" winking at Beezus. It's true though. How long has it been since Juliet last saw the Ravenclaw. Wow, prefect duty must be making them really busy.

emjay 02-04-2013 06:58 PM

Why was he here again? Oh right.. Minerva had some part in this debate thing and he wanted to be here for her.. not to mention Ethan really hated to be out of the loop on things. He had a feeling that this was somehow important, though he didn't really care about it right now.

But all it had proven to be right now was boring. Ethan glanced over at the candidates as he munched on a couple of the miniature sandwiches he had gotten from the refreshment table. What they had to say was not all that interesting and just seemed to echo what the previous speaker said, just worded differently.

The Ravenclaw leaned back in his seat and glanced down at his program. Dunking of the bottom three candidates.. now that was something to look forward to. Hehe.

She was surprised by the first question, it was totally unexpected. Asilin thought it would be some big long official sounding question; but instead it was easy to understand.

She scanned the contestants before they started answering the questions. Hmmmmmm.
Water wings? Is that guy trying to win likes by bringing the party to the debate? Well, he wasn't going to win Asilin's. Asilin agreed with the candidates who talked about adding more activities and clubs. Being new, she wanted to get involved.

One speaker had said that ignoring ones emotional filter would be best, Asilin agreed with this too. Almost every speaker was speaking from their own personal background; but how could they have opinions if they weren't?

Speaking of Asilin's own personal filter, she needed to start making things more objective.
She had a vague idea of who might get dunked at the end of the debate.

Alyssa listened as Alexa first said who she was first going to be voting for. She tried not to hold in her snort but somehow it got away from her. "I'm sorry. That was really rude of me to do that. Alexa, I couldn't help but hear you say that you were going to vote for Mr. Vinteren. Being nice isn't a good reason why you should be voting for somebody. Even the worst politicians can be nice if they want to get voted in. It's after they are voted in, it's when you need to worry about. But then again, it's your vote. You should vote whomever you feel you want to." 'Just not Vintaren.' Alyssa thought to herself as she looked up at the man that had been at practically every class she had attended.

She just had this weird feeling about him. Like he had some secret agenda. She just didn't know what. Something just wasn't right about him. But she kept her thought to herself. She turned back to nod in agreement with Alexa. "I agree though about Mr. Vanderbilt. I've heard so much good things about him from Vickers and like they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Vickers is really a cool guy and I"m sure that Mr. Vickers is too."

Alyssa turned to the older Slytherin. "I'm not sure whether we've met. I'm Alyssa. I just overheard your comment about Vinterin...and I couldn't agree more. There's just something off about him. I can't pinpoint what it is but I don't really trust him." Alyssa told the girl. Then she heard her mention that she was going to be voting for Roxanne Carter. She remembered her mother mentioning that she worked with someone by that name in her Department.

"You're voting for Roxanne Carter? Does she work in the Department of Law Enforcement? I believe that my mother works with her. Melissa Potter. She has a lot of nice things to say about your aunt. So I believe that I may vote for her too." Alyssa grinned at the girl. Her mother was the best judge of character. If she said that the woman was alright, then she was.

Smiling at Miss Kim, Airey turned his attention back towards Mr. Katharos and simply nodded when the boy asked again about Pebbles being a rock. "Yes. Bought her at a muggle hobby shop a little while back." And NO, he was not going to start wibbling again - although his lower lip did quiver a little.

"Yes, a reward. Be it house points or," he paused to lean in a little so he could whisper in the Slytherin's ear. "...permanent possession of a certain duck tie..."

Winking as sat up straight again, Airey turned his attention back to the platform and sort of just stared at the one woman who just kept...talking. "Your former Charms professor certainly...talks a lot." He approved, because he was a talker as well. Someone else to consider rooting for and perhaps holding a conversation with at some point. Some of the other ones...well...he was going to leave those thoughts to himself.

Scary Bat Girl? Airey tapped his fingers against his bottom lip as he thought that nickname over for a moment and could only assume it had something to do with the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Unfortunately, both Beaters for the team were girls and BOTH were a little alarming as far as Airey was concerned. Miss Skylar could probably break glass and cause hair to grow on a toad with her singing and Miss Fischer, well, she had jaws of death apparently.

OH! But she was asking a question about James Bond. Airey knew who that was! Owned all the films and books - now he just needed a muggle box to watch them on. "James Bond, Miss Cambridge, is a fictional character created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming, who featured him in twelve novels and two short story collections," he rattled off word for word from his Muggle Studies textbook. "He is a British Secret Service Agent that is immensely popular in muggle pop culture."

He was just about to comment on her voting option when Miss Potter chimed into their conversation. "True, Miss Potter, but remember that no one will know how any of these candidates will be in office until they are in office. I personally have nothing against the man, especially since he seems to be showing so much interest in your education. Only one of the candidates really taking the class observation seriously." It was true. The man was observing as many classes as possible - although he had not been in attendance for his lesson. "Why cast your vote for someone who isn't even trying to win the crowd over or be personable? Also, you both should keep in mind that only of age witches and wizards may vote in the end." Although this event was a little different in terms of election policy.

But now back to Alexa. "Oh, I see. Well, Mr. Vanderbilt was one of the two observing my lesson - if you remember - and seemed like a well put together gentleman." But he would have to see how he fared in this debate before he made any conclusions. "Mr. Clark I think is a good man. He certainly was an active participate in my lesson and I admire his want to participate on such a personal level with you all."

Pebbles. Cue slight man wibbling. "Not yet, Miss Cambridge, and any help that you and Miss Fischer are willing to provide would be much appreciated." And yes, the rewards he mentioned to Mr. Katharos were still applicable. Although he was pretty sure that his duck tie would be of little interest to the Gryffindor.

Grinning a little, Airey nodded and rummaged through his pockets for a mint humbug and popped it into his mouth. "Very wise," he nodded while sucking on the sweet. "If there is one thing we can all do it is to be a well informed and responsible when it comes to making important decisions." Sucking some more on the peppermint, Airey observed some of the candidates and their answers before glancing back at his program to figure out who was who...and the cat fight on stage. Heh.

Returning the Hello to his fellow prefect, Beezus, Daichi turned his attention back to Alexa when she began to speak of Dylan. If he knew him? Uuuh..yeah? He was the guy who had been faster in asking Indiana out, leaving Daichi alone outside in the cold winter after she had rejected him because apparently , Dylan had been only a few days faster in asking out. Luckily for the Prefect the Dylan/Indy couple did not work out and it so happened that HE was now Indiana's boyfriend. All is well between him and Dylan now but back then? Seriously...Daichi could not stand him out of jealousy! "i know him, he's my quidditch captain" he smiled. "I'm one of the chasers this year" aah he couldn't wait till the match!

Daichi looked at the stage when it begun and they were told to introduce themselves. So far, he really liked Selena's answer on why she should be chosen. But on the other hand he knew her from the Hogwarts days when he was a fourth year and...well......she was a little crazy...but in a good way! Eh?! Wait, so the Gryffindor captain was not called Sue? "She's not? Then why did i think Alice was called Sue?" he mumbled to himself.

Seriously , he was like the mini version of the forgeful Professor Botros...

It was then that the Slytherin heard something about Dylan being this Gryffindors ickle parent and he snapped his head to the side. "DYLAN IS A PARENT?!" ooooh whoops that came out loud.

Daichi shook his head at first but knew he was lying and then nodded his head. "Well, Prefect stuff is hard work. Patrolling the corridors and such after hours but do-able." he said and ran his hand through his hair. "I can Finally sleep normal because i don't have to worry about the OWL exams anymore" he laughed nervously as he thought back at the late night studying in the Common room and eventually in the Great hall when they were forced out of their rooms by an unknown force.

"I'm okay, really" and he wasn't lying because for one; he was a TERRIBLE liar and two; his Healthy glowed face showed it as he beamed at her.

yay she had noticed his wave! Now he did not look like a fool!

"I'm pretty good" he answered and leaned back in the chair he was sitting on "How are you?" The Slytherin eyed the debate for a second and a stupid grin formed on his lips when she said duck. Mweh, he wanted to visit the duckpond now! "Oh i'm here for the dunking of course~!" he giggled.

Some of the other ones...well...he was going to leave those thoughts to himself.

...Pebbles was a rock he bought in a muggle shop? Seriously?

Daichi stared at the Professor in a you-are-weird kind of way. Yes, Daichi was aware that he still had his pushy duck named MR.Duckles but he was his hero.! He had an emotional bond with it and he talked to it every night since the age of seven and....wait....the Professor couldn't read minds right?! He wasn't like Williamson right?! Eeek!

But really, Daichi did not know what was so special about a simple rock when it hit him. His eyes glistened in a odd way as he looked at the Professor. "Is that rock expensive, Sir?" he asked, way to curious than he had wanted to appear.

Oblivious to the fact that he was putting himself in a doubtful position, Daichi blinked as Professor Flamsteed leaned forward and whispered something in his ear. At first, the Slytherin frowned but then he got it and GAAAAASPED loudly. "REALLY?!" he squeaked and in a flash he jumped up from his chair and began to feel his pockets. He had not stolen the tie but this was Hogwarts...eh Hogsmeade. So it wasn't weird if the tie magically appeared there right?! But once checking, he found nothing and grumbled under his breath before bending down to check under his seat. Nothing. "I'm going to find that tie AND Pebbles , Sir!" he called and went to check under every seat in the row he was sitting on but without any luck. A pout formed on his lips as he walked back and climbed over the chairs until he stood next to the Astronomy Professor. "Why is it missing though? Cause your office looked scarily neat. I told you it was better to have a mess, professor!"

Alyssa listened at what Professor Flamsteed had to say. He made a good argument but she still didn't trust Mr. Vintaren. She shrugged her shoulders and said "You may be right. He does show some interest in our classes but does he have to attend everyone of them? I understand why he's doing it. I know classes have been disrupted the last few terms but it's neither the Professor or the students fault. I'm worried that he's trying to fix what ain't broke." Alyssa said.

"As for candidates who are trying to win the crowd over and be personable? I've heard of politicians in the past who did that and then after they were voted in, we found out that it was a fake facade."

" However, I'm keeping my options open. I believe that you should put your money where your mouth is. Proof why you should be voted in. No phony smiles, no false promises or manipulating people to get them to vote for you. It's too bad that only of age wizards and witches get to vote because this is all about the school. More students should be given the chance to vote for what is planned for their future. That's why I'm going to make sure that I vote wisely and with a clear conscience."

Then Alyssa turned her attention to Daichi.

This was the day. A very important day actually. James Bond was going to be at the debate and discussing why HE would be right for the BoG board. The seventh year, honestly, could not think of anyone better to be on the board. The whole point of the bloody thing was to protect the students, which had been sort of dicy last term, and to keep the school running properly. Who better to manage their safety then 007 himself? He was perfect in every single way possible. AND she had waved his handkerchief just like he had asked of her. And yes, she was blushing. Get over it. He was just so handsome and perfect...

ANYWAY, that had nothing to do with anything right now...

Ahem, so anyway, she walked into the debate and took a seat by her fellow students. All the while, she fidgeted with her hands nervously. She hoped that he answered all of the questions well, not that he WOULDN'T, he was James Bond for Merlin's sake. But she was slightly nervous. THEY ALL had to like him and have as much faith in him as she did. Because he was perfect. Blush.

So she sat unusually quiet in her seat at the debate and just watched and waited. GAH. He was just so wonderful.

Lex knew that Cassia was looking at the Headmistress so she continued looking at her too. Things were always more effective when you did them like that because if she were to glance over at the student seating area she would see two students eyeing her but she wouldn't have any idea why. The best jokes were the ones that left the subject clueless. "That's right, she wouldn't let me even though I asked nicely." She whipped around in her seat at her friend's next statement. "Do you think it might be? I mean I never really thought about it before but it might be possible. It would explain why she didn't want me touching it....hmmm..." Cassia was a genius. She had all the right answers. And of course she nodded again. "Something's definitely wrong with her, those were chocolate chip cookies you know and those are like the best." Fact.

"Oh I think they might be starting now." She said, looking to the dunk tanks again. Now the people were talking and Alice was saying things and she was supposed to be listening but well...she was talking to Cassia at the moment so she didn't particularly care about what they were saying. "I don't know if you know him. He's the one with the accent and I think he was dressed like James Bond." Not knowing what else to say she simply started pointing. THERE.

The Ravenclaw prefect? OHHH! "Her name's Bee." That was her name right because that was the only name she knew her by. Well yeah. Her name would be Bee no matter what because that's what she was used to calling her. "And I dunno. I think I am...I want to but at the same time I don't. What about you?" Because she wanted to know what her bestie would be up to.

Looking around the area reserved for them she caught sight of a familiar snake who was obviously also here for the debate. She flashed her a wide smile and a grin. "PEYTON!" Obviously because she was happy to see her. She didn't know very much about her but from what she knew the girl was pretty cool so this was good.

"Do you know who you'll be rooting for??"

Even if they wouldn't be able to vote it was still fun. It was the most exciting part about politics and politics didn't get very interesting unless people were handing out sugary treats. DUH.

Lex was interrupted mid-explanation by what sounded like snorting. Her brows crinkled slightly in wonder as she looked for the source but that didn't take long because the perpetrator confessed. She gave Alyssa a long, pointed look before finally deciding that what she said was nothing to get upset about. At this point her features became more pleasant and she managed a smile at the girl. "I don't really care about any of that. If someone isn't nice to me then I'm not gonna want to give them my vote then they won't get elected. See, if you don't play nice no one will like you and all the others just seem kinda rude." Rude from lack of a better word. For a moment she looked over at the dunk tanks again. This time she saw that Carter man giving Alice chocolate.

"Ooo! See! Lookit! He'll get votes because he remembers that this is a school and school is filled with sugar addicted students who are easily bribed." And no matter what any of them said she knew better because EVERYONE had a price, even if they wouldn't admit it. She would admit hers because she wasn't ashamed. Chocolate frogs. It didn't take much for her to figure out that the Professor was still a little lost but this time it wasn't because he was still lost on the whole Vinteren thing. "Scary-Bat Girl's the Head Girl." She offered helpfully. Unless that wasn't what had him puzzled in which case he'd have to solve the mystery on his own.

She listened as Professor Airey explained exactly how she saw things. If you wanted her vote you had to give her reason to hand it over...even though...of course she wouldn't get to vote because they obviously didn't think her voice was important enough. She nodded when it seemed he was now talking to her too. "I know. We already got this whole speech thing in Muggle Studies; it was a big rip off but whatever. I don't care anymore. Politics is stupid anyway." It really was when you thought about it.

Oooo and he was explaining all about that James Bond guy. Now she'd get to see what the big deal with him was. "That's actually kinda neat...but...how did you know all that just now?" Where there courses to be taken about Bond. How did she not know about this???

She nodded at his assessment of the men. Nothing she particularly cared about but only because it had to do with things she considered trivial--

Hold on...that woman...she had been talking for ages. Lex stopped talking and turned to look at her with a scowl. This was boring enough without the long speeches thank you very much. How did anyone expect her to follow when her interest was waning? She plucked her attention back from the dunk tank. "Don't worry Professor. We'll find her and we'll take her back to you safely then you'll give us chocolate frogs and everything will be alright." YUP.

MERLIN! More long speeches. She didn't know how much of this she'd be able to take!

Oh he knew Dylan! Even better though after hearing the second part it would have been hard to believe he didn't! "You made the team! Cool! I play Chaser too." BEAM. Not that she was particularly proud of the way she played but she liked the title of Chaser so she would forget about just how rubbish she played in the last match...which just happened to be the first match of the term. "Good luck on your game when it gets here. You guys will be against Hufflepuff, Hair Boy's pretty good at being seeker." In other words, they would need a miracle because she was confident that Hair Boy would show them how to catch a snitch.

She shrugged at his question. "I'm not really sure...do you know anyone by the name of Sue that happens to bite people?" If so then she could probably understand. Biting made someone memorable and that might not have been for the right reasons. Of course for Alice it was but you know, in general.

Lex giggled at his outburst. "O'course he is! He's my ickle parent and so is Alice!" Did that make sense? He was getting it, right? "I'm their ickle because they decided to share me but I'm actually Vivi's baby lion that she left behind when she graduated last year--do you know Vivi too???"

"And you might be onto something there...you think he's like Vickers when it comes to adventure and stuff?"

Alyssa nodded hearing what Alexa had to say. "I agree with you. If you're going to treat us like little kids, then you don't think that our vote is worth enough, so you're not going to get it." She looked over at Carter and laughed.

"That is so typical Carter. He always tried to use his looks to get people to do what he wants. Now that he's a Professional Quidditch Player, I'm sure he knows how to pamper to his young fan following. Yep! bribing will you get you votes. However I think that he's bribing the wrong students, since they can't vote and he doesn't inspire much confidence wearing those floats around his arms like that." Alyssa laughed.

"Mr. Vanderbilt? I bet if Vickers is like him, I'm sure that he'll be rooting to have more activities that involved stuff like that. I hope he get in. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for him" Alyssa showed her crossed fingers.

Beezus blinked slightly at their Astronomy Professor before settling into a smile again. Was that how they were supposed to greet each other now? With a salute? ..Well, okay. Mental note to remember the gesture when greeting Professor Flamsteed.

The Ravenclaw BEAMED at the young lioness too, her smiling widening. She was fond of this girl. Genuinely..

"Hmm, I'm not sure." Beezus replied when Alexa asked if the debate was going to be one of the boring. She sat back on her seat as her eyes darted to the Platform, eyeing the candidates considerably. Some looked like they had more than readied their attires for this event. Not a minute had passed though, she could suddenly see a familiar face up there. She leaned forward and shook the knee of the girl beside her. "Isn't that Alice?" Grin. Point, point. The young Captain was emceeing.

"Nah, I don't think this would be too boring. Jake's up there too."

..Oh, she didn't hear much. Only that "her name's Bee" bit from Lex.

Hmm... Merlin, were they really getting the idea that her name was Bee? Where did 'Beatrice Evangeline' went off to? She didn't make any comments, though. They'll find out sooner or later. People always do.

She got bored? That was close to her own reason for coming here. She'd been bored pacing alone at the Ravenclaw Common Room, yes. But she also wanted to be involved that was why she was here.

"You bet. You're still a huge fan of mistletoes?" Beezus teasingly grinned at the Slytherin, seemingly reminding her of the little fun they had last term during Christmas. Maybe she could do the same thing this time again? Although...she'd had to find someone else to pair with Juliet. Gerald Rush was unavailable now.

Stranger? O.o The girl had just mentioned her name but was now calling her stranger? ..Er. She smiled at her, though. "Hey. I've been...busy." Things. Stuffs. Such kind. "Oh, I see you in classes. It's you who seems to be so focused during lectures." In a way, that was true. Who she was voting for? Hmm. "I don't know yet. As for dunking, I'll leave it to the others. Are you planning on dunking anyone?"

The candidates were stepping forward to give their answers now and the brunette took a few minutes to listen before she felt like yawning. She didn't have any intention to be rude. Sure, these people were good with words. Powerful, in fact. But if they were trying to win the voters, especially them students, then they should just keep things short, simple but full of impact. You know?

It was a good thing they had a dynamic debate committee out there who kept people from ---

O___o ...DaichitheDuckyPrefectSayWhat?

That name. ...Oh. Huh?

Uncle Moose 02-06-2013 01:35 PM

Let's throw Oakey into the mix!! O___O

A Debate?

Oakey wasn't into all that political mumbo-jumbo. but as a Prefect he should probably go down anyways to represent the school some. He hurried his way into where the rest of the students were sitting, and found himself sitting directly behind Professor Flamsteed. The Astronomy Professor seemed to be speaking just about all the other students that were sitting around him. Namely he recognized Daichi, Beezus, Alexa, and Alyssa. he tried to peak around the Professor's massive head to check what was going up on stage, but all he got from it was a lot of yelling, and throw backs to what happened last term with the Man-Eating Plant. He didn't want to hear about that again.

Sighing, Oakey leaned back in his chair and looked down. He spotted a small smudge on his badge and took to wiping it off quickly.

hjhm 02-07-2013 09:25 AM

Prefect stuff is hard work. It always will be. Why if he doesn't think so then that doesn't make him normal at all. Except if he has a time-turner where he can be in many places at once. That'd be cool. But Daichi is the kind of person who wouldn't use and maybe abuse the power of a time-turner. Plus, based on other experiences, Daichi is the kind of person that is willing to just do things by hand, which is such a good thing. That's why he is prefect.

Juliet smiled towards him "patrolling at night?" repeating what he said only with a hint of worry. "You're not scared going around and about in this huge castle?" she cocked her head to the side. Well he is 16 (?????) and he's a tough guy. yeah, maybe that's just Juliet. But really though, especially the dungeons area. That place is just too dark and quite creepy even though the place grows on you.

I can Finally sleep normal because i don't have to worry about the OWL exams anymore

Juliet grins wider. "That's great. You took your OWLs last term. I envy that" she said with a hint of jealousy. Daichi was a sixth year and no super big exams to study too but then again when she's in the sixth year, he'll be in the seventh and that means......... NEWTs. Wonder if that's much harder.

And then the Beezus and Juliet conversation is ruined by Beezus herself when she just blurted out the word mistletoe. Juliet could still remember how Beezus took part in playing matchmaker between her and Gary the photographer. He's the head boy right? Juliet has never really got to congratulate him yet with this. Juliet's eyes narrows towards Beezus and pouted her lips a bit "Not even one bit" teasing.... something that her cousin is a fan of and by the looks of it so does his juniors. Ughhh. "You remind of me someone I know. Really closely familiar" which she's not going to say though because Beezus may already know who this person is. "Did you come alone?" she asked. Wasn't she linked to the Slytherin captain, Dylan? Juliet is a bit blurry on the details but she does remember that part though from a term ago. Yeah, she's not updated.

Then again if she did, the seat next to Juliet is free. Besides, Beezus has a charm that Juliet finds interesting.

And those OLD people finally started speaking. Took them sometime as they expressed their un-approving of being called old which they were. Why did people always deny that. And it reminded the snake pf the long gone Astronomy Professor. Merlin bless her soul. PAUSE..Anyway...She leaned forwards listing. And she really didn't blame Mika who fall asleep. Cassia was about to too hadn't she been chatting with Lex while listening. But seriously that blond who used to be a professor here talked a lot and she wa sbribing them by blowing kisses. Nah wouldn't work. Though not only her talk a lot as so did the MLE employee and all of them actually. And Cassia really was able to listen and talk at the same time. She was that awesome. And the only person who earned the snake's liking was the man who LAUGHED. He was definitely cool to do so. And after waiting she learned that his name was Cooper. She probably was going to vote for him.

And here she was again, sitting with Lex completely at ease and just chatting when she discovers something very huge and smart and awesome. She needed to hang out even MORE with Lex. If that was even possible since she spent great amount of her time with her bestie. Maybe they should live together during the summer too. Mike wouldn't be pleased of course but he was meeting new friends at Durmstrang too. "You know what, Lex." She said dramatically, "I think we've just found out the headmistress's biggest secret." And how easy did they do it! "We should bribe her..But first we need to do one last attempt of touching her hair." She said switching to business!Cassia. Important matters here!

The Snake turned her attention back to the platform and wasted some precious minutes listening to adults talking. Yeah..yeah. but she did smile seeing Mika there,"Oh there's Mika, too." She said to herself to Lex she didn't know. Though the ravenclaw was obviously napping. Good for her! "Why is this blond ex-professor blowing kisses at us?" Cassia asked puzzled. "Does she think that we'd vote for her if she blew kisses at us?" Well, a kiss wasn't enough to bribe Cassia Somerlad...A full bag of candy would do it.

Yeah that was enough listening. But she did STARE at the man whom Lex pointed at."Oh I see him," She nodded sizing the man up from afar.

Cassia nodded and registering the prefect's name."Those Ravenclaws have the most bizarre names." She said to Lex. You know, Cassia's own close friends Blue and Dora had unique names as well. Now back to holiday talk. "Yup, I will." She answered letting Lex know that she won't be at the castle. "Mike is coming home too, so.." She trailed off letting Lex guess that it's some kind of a family reunion. "I say you go. Take a break from the castle and see your dad." Cassia said with a smile making sure she didn't mention Lex's step mum or young sister.

And of course, Cassia's eyes were still glued to the headmistress's fake hair though she did glance at Lex every now and then for logistic purposes.

Now that she knew the girl's name, Cassia grinned over at the Prefect. "Hey Bee," Because that was her name. "How're you? Enjoying the debate?" the snake asked jabbing a finger at the lot of OLD people talking. Maybe older students and prefects payed more attention to it especially Ravenclaws.

Hearing Lex greet someone, The snake looked to see who it was and a huge smile played on her lips as she spotted Peyton. Waving enthusiastically at the fellow snake and third year, "Hey Peyton!" And she wanted to ask her who she was rooting for but Lex already did. So why ask twice. But she did motion to the girl to come and sit near them. It was kinda crowded but who cares!

"Do you know who you'll be rooting for??"

Even if they wouldn't be able to vote it was still fun. It was the most exciting part about politics and politics didn't get very interesting unless people were handing out sugary treats. DUH.

Peyton was absentmindedly unwrapping a Sugar Quill, her eyes on the, indeed, old people. She heard her name and turned her attention to the source. Ohhh! "LEX!" she beamed, with a big wave of her hand, almost as if she's known her for ages. That was Peyton, though. Once she considered someone cool or a friend, well...they'd get the Peyton package.

She nommed on her Sugar Quill while thinking about Lex's question.

Hmmmm....

"Not so sure, yet, but maybe for the cute, little old man," she said, tapping her chin with her finger. "'Cause he's probably a lot more wise than the other people," she added. "Or maybe for that..." Peyton trailed off. The woman she was about to point at (Althea) seemed to have blown someone or the crowd a kiss. Peyton blinked in her direction. "D'you see that? The lady just blew a kiss at someone." Were they allowed to do that?
