One of the most rewarding things you can do in your seven years at Hogwarts is win the House Cup. It is not an easy feat, but with a little effort and a little perseverance anything is possible. In the common room, a poster of a lion may be found on the wall by the noticeboard. Here, Professor Bentley, your Head of House, will display the names of the top five achieving students and leave a few words of wisdom. These names will be updated on a regular basis, so be sure to keep up with classes and homework if you hope to glimpse your name on this prestigious list. The lion is enchanted, and will purr affectionately when approached by one of the top students, however if you have been lazy, don't worry too much. He can't hurt you, though he might try to take a swipe at you with his paw. Good things he's just a poster.
To be in with a chance, be sure to attend all your classes and complete any homework assignments in a timely manner.
United we will conquer, divided and we will be defeated.
OOC: Welcome to the Roar Awards! Here I will post the top five students with the highest house points. To give Gryffindor a fighting chance at winning the cup this term, all you need to do is get involved. Lessons and homework will earn you points, unless of course you break the rules, then you will lose points. But the main point is to keep spirits high and do whatever you're comfortable with. Just have fun. | |

In the aftermath of the flash start to the race for the House Cup at the beginning of term, we may now observe our distinctive troop of students working hard to earn Gryffindor the prestigious title. This term, OUR goal, is to restore faith and pride into the Gryffindor brand. We will be contenders, we will be a force to be reconned with and we will prosper. Your marching orders are to follow in the foot steps of our leading Lions. Learn from them, seek their advice and guidance, contribute to our cause and work on being the best you, that you can be.

Well done Lions, on a fantastic effort this year thus far. I'm sure you've all challenged yourself, triumphed, and lost... but so long as you learn from your mistakes, we may move forward, and achieve excellence.
Congratulations to our Gobstones team for an almighty effort, securing Gryffindor Second place... should we lose. But remember, our potential to be great, and to win is still strong. So have faith and be proud.
A congratulations to our Quidditch team also, for their outstanding effort, tenacity and courage. Thank you for your hardships, your triumphs and your losses. Winning the cup is not everything, and what you have given us this year means much more than silverware... unity.
Remember there are still classes in session, don't be lazy with your homework and study for finals is essential.
