It was back to the greenhouses for another lesson on herbs, only, Professor Bentley wasn't waiting for them inside the doorway like she usually did. Instead, there were work stations set up with equipment laid out neatly. Stools had been arranged in a group on the main floor nearest the raised flowerbeds of carefully arranged herbs.

Now that Cora was finished cleaning, she had only the final step left. Yay!
SPOILER!!: Step 7
7) Once your Minsecticide has cooled, strain it into a spray bottle
The amount of time Cora spent meticulously clearing her work area had proved effective in cooling her pot. Very gently, she poured her Minsecticide into a spray bottle, spilling a bit of it over the edge. She finished pouring it in, and then returned to clean it up.
Sigh.
Such a clutz. Hmph.
Nevertheless, Cora was pleased to be finished. She smiled, and hummed to herself, wondering if she could help anyone. She glanced around the room, hopeful.

Reaching for the bottle, Ella pulled it towards her and then turned her attention to the minsecticide. She picked the pot up very carefully, not wanting any accidents to happen after all that hard work. She then poured the mixture into the bottle very carefully. When she was finished, she placed the pot back down on the table and picked up her wand, cleaning that too. BEAM. She was finished.
Sitting up a little straighter, the third year placed her notes in her bag and raised her hand. "All finished over here, Professor."
"Lovely, you're free to leave dear."

Strainer...Check.
Spray Bottle...Check.
Inevitably, it was going to make a mess. The strainer was way too big for the top of the spray bottle...and if Dylan started pouring this stuff over it, it was going to go everywhere. So, what the Slytherin needed was a funnel...
Or better yet...Snatching up the strainer, he used his wand to cover most of the holes in the bottom, except for the center-most ones. Proud of his quick thinking, he checked the concocted and was pleased to see/feel it had cooled. Laying it over the bottle, he did some weird maneuvering to get it all to stay put whilst pouring the minsecticide into it.
SUCCESS!
Once it was fully in, he retrieved the top and screwed it into place tightly.
SCOURGIFY for all the equipment and such...
DONE.
"Professor, where shall I put it once finished?" Once again, if she'd said as much, Dylan hadn't heard. He'd been too in the zone...

Herbology: Lesson Two
Minsecticide: A How-To Guide
Ingredients and Equipment
Pot
Strainer
Spray Bottle
Neem Oil
Cayenne Pepper
Garlic (whole bulb)
Chrysanthemum Tea Leaves
Nettle Tea Leaves
Fluxweed
Knotgrass
Lacewing Flies (dried, whole)
Bubotuber Pus
Apple Cider Vinegar
Procedure and Steps
1) Once your pot of water has begun to boil, start by adding the chrysanthemum and nettle tea leaves. Stir occasionally.
2) As the colour of the water turns amber, add two generous pinches of cayenne pepper, a generous drizzle of neem oil and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Stir occasionally.
3) As the colour darkens, take a handful of fluxweed and knotgrass, then stir.
4) Take a whole garlic bulb, slice it in half (diffindo) then drop it into the solution.
5) Add 3-4 whole dried lacewing flies and a small (yes, thick) drizzle/plop of bubotuber pus.
6) Simmer, stir and leave to cool for about half an hour (in which time you clean up your work space and return any unused items to the stores cupboard.)
7) Once your Minsecticide has cooled, strain it into a spray bottle.
Where shall he put it? ... "As per my instructions, you're to hold onto it, and use it." Of course.

Ever so carefully upending it over both bottle and strainer to pour into the receptical, his hand steady to do his best not to make too much of mess. The prefect found as long as he didn't let it flow too fast it stayed in the center of the strainer and thus into the bottle.
When the bottle was full as much as it was hold, Gideon righted the pot and set it back down on the worktable."Scourgify," he cast once more, cleaning out the very last remnant of the minsecticide that rested on the very bottom of the pot and clearing the strainer. Getting up again, he returned them both where they had come from as well.
Once that was all done, he gathered his belongings and returned them to his school bag, slinging it over his shoulder. He took hold of the spray bottle in his other hand seeing as he would need it for the task force as Bentley had mentioned. "Good day Professor Bentley. Thanks for class," Gideon said as he made his way up to the front of class. With that said, he walked the last few feet and exited the classroom.
"See you later Gideon," she replied, smiling.

Back to the present. It was finally the end of class, and they were being dismissed. Well, at least those that had actually gotten their stuff finished at the moment. "Thanks for another FABULOUS class, Professor Bentley!" She called, grinning from ear to ear. As soon as this was over she was headed straight for the kitchens for tea, and then back up to the Common room for some calm. It had definitely been a hectic couple of months for her, with all of the holidays, especially Christmas!
Jayden packed up all of her things, fitting them neatly into her bag. "Bye everyone!" She called out, waving to no one in particular.
Fabulous? Seren blushed a little... "You're... very welcome Jayden."
"Right, rest of you! Off you trot! I do not want to be the one responsible for you being late to your next class. Enjoy the rest of your day and take care over the holidays."
