The Badgers, reigning House Cup and Gobstones Tournament champions, sit under a bright black and gold banner representing their house. The candles light it up nicely in spite of the gloomy, turbulent skies above.
Emmaleigh sighed with relief when she saw Michael slip into the great hall. She had been so worried when she hadn’t heard him on the trolley. She must have missed when he stepped out. Probably too concerned about the Hogs Head comment. And then not seeing him on the platform frightened her even more, but she had gotten so distracted, and figured he had been helping the kids too, just out of sight. “I have no idea.” She said, and then speaking where only he could hear, “But I don’t think it was good.” She was just glad someone had been there for her to confide in on the train. “I had to leave Halt, He wasn’t with me at the time. He was uncaged though, so he should be here soon.”Em shook her head, “No, shes a Gryffindor.”
The red head listened to the little lion.. She didn’t like this. She needed healing, especially if it was broken. “Okay, Okay. But you really should, she’s not scary or anything, but okay. Do you mind if my friend Michael here takes a look? He is really good with things like this” Em was fairly confident that he could do something to heal it.
The girl shook her head. “No, I very nearly hexed one of them though.” But that was really because bowling guy was a total jerk.

"Well, I'm going to take as many as possible, they all sound really exciting so it's hard for me to choose some over the other!" Ariella said as she waved her hands around, she had a habit of taking with gestures. She cocked her head to the side and asked, "What about you? Are there any classes your particularily interesting in/"
Jordan parents were both muggles, so she didn't know very much about Hogwarts besides what was mentioned in her acceptance letter. She put her hands on head while trying to remember some of the supplies she had to purchase for her classes but she was unable to remember any materials besides those needed for potions. She was pretty sure that she would make a bloody mess of anything she put her hands to since she was still unable to completely wrap her head around the fact that she was a witch. Jordan looked up at Ari with the most embarrassed look on her face before saying,
"Im really not sure, this whole thing is very new to me."
Emilia... liked his laugh. It was the first true happiness she had seen from him. However, she didn't comment on the matter and moved on to the next subject.
She shrugged and gave a smile. She tried her best at everything. Sports were a little easier than academics, which is why she participated in so many. Her interest in more medieval forms of sport came from her love of fantasy books, and she had started training at a very young age. She shifted under his stare, it was making her uncomfortable. "Nope," and that was all she could say. "Shush, you don't even know if I'm any good," she said, feeling awkward now. "I could have just picked up a sword or a bow two weeks ago," she said, turning away from him slightly and crossing her arms.
For a moment, for the first moment, since they had begun talking they were both completely happy. Something about that was quite endearing. The fact that their personalities clashed so much made the rare happy moments that much better.
Will felt bad all of the sudden, he couldt tell that he had made her uncomfortable. He thought about appologizing to her, but figured that might make her yet even more uncomfortable. Good going, he couldn't help think to himself. As she turned away from him he let half of a grin come to his lips. This girl sure had charisma. "Well even if you did, I'm still impressed. Most girls I've come into contact with don't even get that far" He told her honestly. "yet something tells me that you've picked one up a bit longer than two weeks ago" he concluded. She had the type of go get them personality that made him think that she wouldn't settle of mediocre and two weeks ago was mediocre.
And mention of The Fat Friar, The Speech and House Elves somehere somewhere :|

Her happiness was only stifled by the fact that she had yet to speak to her best friend Sophie, who was also sitting at the table. FROWN. She was also afraid to let her eyes wander over to the Ravenclaw table, mostly because she didn't know if a certain someone would be over there looking back. Meh.
Sitting up a little straighter, Ells smiled as the Fat Friar emerged. That was quite cool. "The feast is lovely." She said in response to the question, speaking more quietly than she normally would. It was lovely...and the food was always good...and she was glad to be back. She just wanted things to be better this term. They would be, yeah?
While waiting patiently for the new Headmistress to give her speech, Messer was playing with his empty goblet. Come on do the speech already. We're hungry here. He was in the middle playing with his goblet when a student was sitting no far from where he's sitting. Ella!and she's speaking toooo..
Fat Friar?
"Hello, Fat Friar." he gave the ghost a polite nod. "The feast is nice but we could use some food." Yes, some foods wouldn't hurt, wouldn't it? And then he turned his gaze to Ella. "Hey, Ella." he waved at his housemate. And he also noticed her frown earlier. What's wrong with his Hufflepuff friends? They keep giving a gloom face. "You don't need to frown, Uncle Messer is here." the third year gave her a big grin. Seriously though they need to stop frowning or making a gloom faces.

Yeah, why was it so empty?!
But the pat on his shoulder made him look up and- ... WHAT?! Messy?! MESSY was here?! "Dude!" he said, turning round to face him fully, "You come back after weeks of not owling and you just say 'wassup'?!" What was WRONG with this dude?! And... gloom face? What was he TALKING about?! "Yes, mate, I did miss you," he said, trying not to roll his eyes, "Erm... so how've you been? Missed me over the summer?" If Messer said 'no', he was getting a lot of pillows chucked towards him.
And... Messer was speaking to...[/COLOR]
Maybe he should smacked Alec shoulder instead? But what if he got trouble with that? And who know what Alec will do to him if he actually did that.
"Hey, mate!" he gave his roommate a big grin. "Err. Yeah. Is that something wrong with that?" Wasn't its something someone said when they met? Or should he say something else before he said that words? Sometime he couldn't understand Alec, he's more confusing than girls.
So he did miss him, eh? GRIN. "Don't worry, mate. I'm here no need to sulk anymore." he pat Alec's shoulder once more. "I've been okay. Sorry about not owling you over the summer my family and I were staying in this muggle getaway so I can't bring my owl with me." he told Alec. "And how you've been? Did you have a great summer, Summers?" How amusing. Summer, Summers. And about him missing Alec? "Nah, not really." he shrugged.
-------------
The third year heard the new Headmistress began her speech. Goody. A few minutes before the foods appear. Please make it fast Miss. Headmistress. But after she finished it, there's still no food on the table. FROWN.
Instead foods, Messer saw a big plant was walking by itself. Walking plant? Hogwarts was fill with weird stuff so he just shrugged it off until he saw BIG ears. Big ears? He only one creature who has that kind of ears.
HOUSE ELVES...!!!! o____________O
He need to go somewhere, anywhere before the house elves could get hold of him. No he refuse to go down without a fight. He couldn't hide behind Ellie because the red hair already graduated. Come on, man. THINK! Quickly the third year grabbed a plate with his left hand and a fork with his right hand. Now the house elves can't hurt him, he has a plate shield and fork a sword.

For the first time since coming to the school, the first time since hearing the move announced, Emilia was happy. Just sitting here with this almost stranger and she was happy. Strange. She didn't know how many of those moments would occur between herself and this boy, but she was going to cherish this one.
She glanced over and saw his grin. Irritation and the urge to giggle came to her at once, but luckily she was able to smother both. "True," she said, thinking of all of her friends back at her old school. A handful had an interest, one or two had a skill- but nothing compared to her training. She was hoping Will wouldn't be disappointing in that respect. "Fine, a month ago," she joked, turning to face him again. "What about you? Pick it up yesterday?"

Will couldn't read what was going to Emilia's head. This in itsself frustrated him because he was normally quite good at reading people. But Emilia was a challenge for him. Perhaps it was because her mood changed every other second.
Ah so she addmitted that he was right. Something told him that he should cherrish this small victory, that there wouldn't be too many more like them. As she admitted that she hadn't picked them up two weeks ago he let a smirk come to his lips. So he was right twice in on night. Nice. As she asked if he had picked it up yesterday he simply shook his head. "No don't be absurd, I picked them up this morning" He told her keeping an extremely serious face.

GOODNESS.
Mason had been waiting for the food to appear on the tables but thankfully, after the long amazing speech. He wasn't particularly concerned about the train accident at the moment because well, he survived. That's all that really mattered. However, he had been curious as to what kind of changes would be made at Hogwarts, but all those thoughts evaporated when the food came.
MMM. MMM. MMMMMMM.
He stared piling his plate with food, mostly bacon. Yummy bacon.
... did someone just call my name?
The newly sorted Hufflepuff perked up a little bit when he thought he had heard someone say his name and as he turned his head around, he saw Addy! Had she called his name? It didn't sound like it because it had seemed distant and she wasn't exactly distant -- or he could have just been hearing stuff. Not like anyone KNEW him here.
"ADDY!" He called out.

No amount of words of wisdom and all that other stuff would get her to go to the Healer..."Uh-huh, yeah I know it looks bad but the Healer is the last place I intend to go to!" She paused for a moment to consider her offer. She looked over at the boy for a minute before looking back at her. "Fine he can have a look--but I draw the line at him raising his wand at me!" Yeah that she would never agreed to because just about everything would go wrong when a student waved a wand at another student! "Oh cool you nearly hex someone? Who? What did they do?"

But... there were lots of new Hufflepuffs! That was a good sign, right? They could all attend classes and Quidditch tryouts and-
Hey, it was Sophs! Sophs was the one who sat down near him! Alec grinned... and then stopped. Sophs looked... well, not like her usual self. She seemed sad. Alec ruffled his hair and looked down at the table. He needed to do something... and FAST! He didn't like seeing people sad... especially his friends.
And then... he caught sight of his reflection on the plate. Then his eyes went to his dark hair which was slightly ruffled. If he could look silly... maybe it would make Sophie laugh? And then she wouldn't be sad! YEAH! This could WORK! He took a deep breath before reaching up both of his hands and messing up his hair. Yeah... really messy hair was funny, right? And if some of his hair was sticking up randomly... Alec couldn't believe he was doing this. All those times he had spent spent perfecting his hair and this was how he was putting his skills into use.
After a couple of minutes, Alec turned to Sophie and said, "Hey!" Please smile... please laugh...
Sophie was staring at her empty plate, thinking about how awkward this term would probably be. She would have to share a dorm with Laura and Ella even though they were still not really talking to each other... she'd have to go to classes and see him, knowing he had this... girlfriend or whatever she was now... also, there were still evil Elliot and Hannah to accidently meet around the Castle...
Maybe it'd be best if she spent most of her days in places like the library or the Common Room. Maybe her grades could get better. Maybe she could make new friends? That though made Sophie look around the table once again to notice a lot of new faces that had joined their house. Good thing there was no firsties complaining about being placed in Hufflpuff.
It was only then that the person who was sitting right next to her spoke up. Sophie turned her head around to face... "Alec?" What was up with his hair??? Sophie frowned slightly and tilted her head to the side, giving him a confused look. "Are you okay?" Maybe the whole portkey thing had really messed him up. In many ways... "Y-your hair is a bit..." She moved her hands around her own head and then pointed to his hair. Sophie knew how much he cared about his hair and how nice he wanted it to look all the time, so she wouldn't make fun about it... that would be mean, right?
Her eyes traveled to where Laura and Ella were again and she felt like her heart was being squeezed by an invisible hand. They were getting pretty well again, weren't they? That made her look down at her plate once more, just in time to listen to the Headmistress speech.
The badger sighed at the older witch's words. That had been a very eventful start of term already, and that was their first night back at Hogwarts! Sophie felt like these last two months had been the most disturbing and tumultuous ones of her entire life! And she was not finding it amusing at all. And she missed Headmaster Tate's advice for them to 'not die'. It sounded silly, but Sophie missed it for some reason...
.... Merlin, those house elves were... why were they here anyway? Sophie didn't pay attention to what they were doing and/or saying as she kept eyeing her plate. Finally the food was there now. She wasn't really hungry, but she'd eat a little anyway. Her parents wouldn't like it if she skipped a meal, she was sure, and the last thing she wanted now was to disobey them and make them upset.

"That's good to hear. Nessie needs all the good players she can get. My favorite position is Beater although I did play Chaser last year. With all the good players trying out, who knows I may not be picked this time." Alyssa told the older girl. "Boyfriend?" Alyssa grinned. "I'm glad that you guys are a couple now. Congrats. That's okay. I'll look for him later." Alyssa was indeed happy to hear that Adeline was no longer alone. That she had a guy to take care of her.

Wait, he had grown? "Really, Lyss?" He looked down at his body and flailed his legs about a bit. Yeah... he did feel taller, for some reason. "Thanks Lyss! Hey, you've grown taller too, you know!" Like really tall! Like Super... erm... woman? "Erm... I've eaten a fair few..." Which really meant a LOT! In all fairness, it was pretty hot during the summer.
But enough about him, he needed to ask about Lyss as well! Last he had heard, quite a bit had happened to the older girl. "Lyss, how was your summer? And... erm... that Evan guy?"
Alyssa laughed. She loved Alec like her younger brother. He would be the person she would miss the most when she left. "Yeah I've grown another inch. SoI guess that makes me....uh....5ft 11 inches. Who knows maybe you'll be as tall as I am."
" I'm glad that the ice cream you've eaten hasn't given you a big belly though. Make sure you exercise all that off." she grinned at him.
She blushed when Alec asked about Evan. "Oh Evan's good. He asked me to be his girlfriend and gave me this locket to wear." She pulled out the locket to show him before tucking it back inside her clothes.
"I just miss him so much. The next time I see him will be in Christmas. I gave him one of the two way mirrors I had bought in Diagon Alley, so we'll still be able to see each other until we can be together again."
"And what about your summer? How was it? Did you spend time with Anya?" Alyssa asked.
The smile on Lex's face grew wider at his question. Yeah, I already plan to do that so if you want you can join me! The more the merrier." The idea had sounded grand from the very beginning and now that she knew that someone else was thinking it too she knew it had to be a good idea!

Alexa looked in shock at him, "meaner..." she stiffened at his words a bit and played with the food on her plate. "Well I guess I'm glad they blend in." she said a little disappointed, how will she ever know if they are muggles if they look like her. So much for that interesting fun. Then she saw a ton of House Elves running around, "Do they always run around the students?" That was odd to her, the house elf at her house was never seen, expect when called.

He had seen boyfriends and girlfriends being all gooey and yucky with each other.. that wasn't for him.. no sir!! He was never going to have a girlfriend ever!! But his ear picked up something interesting..
He listened as she continued and he too moved a little closer since she had some very interesting information. He smiled as she informed him "I like the sound of that spell.. you have gotta teach me that one." though it would be a little tough doing that spell in front of the professors, prefects, captains etc.. "You know any others like that?" he asked.. he was liking this girl already, her being a little older was good for him. She could teach him some of the spells that she knew, well he knew where to come if he wanted some cool spells.. thats if she knew anymore.
Alexa couldn't help but smile at the surprise on DJ's face. Then he asked about another spell. She thought and thought about other spells, but since she had no older siblings nor cousins, or even friends she didn't know any other spells. She shrugged, "No other ones that can do stuff to people. I read about some in my books, but have never tried them. Mum would have killed me if she caught me trying them on her or dad." She looked around and giggled to herself, "I thought I would be locked in my room forever when I gave her pimples."
Bliss frowned slightly as Fee wrinkled her forehead. "Something wrong?" She asked worriedly, she didn't want anyone even slightly annoyed or upset or anything else. Maybe she thought Bliss didn't like her. GASP. Or didn't like Snakes. One she had a pet snake, a bit irrelevant, but oh well. Her best friend and another cool guy friend were snakes! "Thanks, great to meet you too," Bliss replied, shaking her head of her earlier worries. Up until now, Bliss realised, she'd kept her injured wrist below the table, but now she lifted the bandaged hand and fiddled around with an empty plate that was in front of her. "Thank you," Bliss said and beamed at the older girl, "I like your name too," said told Fee. She was in her Seventh Year? So Bliss was right after all. "I hope you have a great year," Bliss said kindly, thinking about what it would be like for her in five years times. "I do, I really do," she exclaimed.
Fee smiled sweetly at Bliss. What a nice little Badger, emphatic even. "Noo everything is alright", she said," i just wondered if you ever had a snake sit chit chatting with you?" Or maybe it was like it happened to Cass all little second years ganging up against her, all afraid.Aww, bless them. But Bliss seemed opened minded.Looking in Bliss' direction the blonde noticed one of the little one's hands was injured."Bliss?", the girl asked carefully, " what happened to your hand there?" Had she gotten injured on the train? That would be terrible, oh my god. What was going on this year.
Beaming back at the younger girl the Slytherin put a strand of hair behind her ear."Thank you very much." Hopefully this last year would be one to remember, like all these years had their special events but this year needed to be extra special. After all this was her last year as student. On the paper she was an adult for some time already but it was different when you were still in school. "Thats great", the blonde nodded,"nothing better than feeling good in your house." Bliss would probably do loads of stuff Fee had done with her friends, what kinda sorta left a smile on the seventh years face.
Emilia felt the air around them spike in tension again and she couldn't help but wonder: what now? It felt like a chess match had begun and while the pieces were invisible, she and Will were moving them around with ease, each trying to best the other in some way. Challenge accepted.
As a smirk spread on his lips, Emi resisted the urge to frown. So, he truly wanted to play that game? Pity he was going to lose- not that he knew that yet. What was the expression? Win the battle but not win the war? That was for another time- they were still getting to know one another.
"Ah! This morning, I see. Well, yes, training on the train must have been quite challenging, teaching a newbie like yourself many good lessons," she said, jokingly. "It sounds like we'll have to spar a bit, perhaps I can teach you a few things," she said with a small wink. Now, however, she was quite curious how long he had been training, after all, it was best to know your opponent.
Will could tell that Emilia was sizing him up. He could see it in her eyes. The unspoken challenge that was going on between the two of them. This was going to be an interesting term indeed. Her attitude reminded him of many of the girls back home. She was stubborn and independet. Yes, he predicted quite an interesting term.
"Ah yes the train" he said with a nod of his head. "Like you said it does teach a lot of good lessons, now I feel as if I could take down an old pro like yourself" He said to her witha wink. Truth was the Will had been using a sword since he was strong enough to hold one, upon his mother's request. His father had instisted on archery, but sword play was his favorite.
As she said that they needed to spar a bit he nodded his head in agreement, "Yes that would be great" He told her as another smirk came across his face, "But I'm afraid my dear that I will be the one teaching you"

The eternal enemy wasn't backing down, it seemed, because the next thing Louisa knew was that Oakey challenged the curly head to a duel. A DUEL! Oh no, not again! Not on her first day and with guests and new headmistress around! Vickers beat her to them though, she felt her frowny face change and her cheeks flush slightly once more when he was all manly and peacemaker-like by moving closer to the boys to prevent a fight and... recite the rule.
Well, he was all macho like for a quick moment, right? Good enough!
"Like rule book said here," she clasped Vickers' back gently and addressed Oakey, "No duels. No fights. No mouthing off." Only she was allowed to do that, obviously, "Not even hexing-from-under-the-table. Simple explanation: it's my first day as Head Girl and I don't want it to be ruined." Whether they see that as selfish or illogical or silly, it was the truth. "Instead, Oakey, why don't you rant? Come on... just tell us what he did to deserve this very brave un-Hufflepuff-ish dare from you? Because he's getting a lecture in a minute." And he should rant quickly, because Louisa was a biiiiit impatient.

If modeling failed, perhaps sales of some kind would be a profession Elijah could see himself in.
And then there he was. Come to ruin Elijah's life once more. Surely the Huffer could have accepted his removal from their verbal war as some kind of unexpected forfeit? But, no. He wanted to continue blabberrrrinnggg on at him. When the young boy challenged him to a duel, Elijah couldn't help but snort. He'd been too busy laughing to himself to respond straight away, which had given Vickers and Louisa the opportunity to inform Oakey of all the borrrringgg rules.
"Yeah, what they said, chump. Besides, I can't trust that you won't cheat like you did last time and I'm a sixth year now. I can't be playing with little boys who don't know when to shut their trap."
Elijah decided to completely ignore Louisa's invite to Oakey to get his rant on and instead demanded, "Why did you drag me all the way over here again? A lecture? About WHAT!? Classes aren't until tomorrow, Louisa! Not all of us are 'Claws and like to torture ourselves with like... learning and stuff!"
Maybe it was best Vickers didn't go on a date with her. Elijah didn't know if he could cope with hanging around such a studious, man-handling female.

As she said that they needed to spar a bit he nodded his head in agreement, "Yes that would be great" He told her as another smirk came across his face, "But I'm afraid my dear that I will be the one teaching you"
The thought of the challenge between them made Emilia smile. She could use a good distraction, and her competitive side managed to down everything else out. This would be fun.
She laughed at his statement and wink. When they weren't bickering, their teasing back and forth was quite amusing. "Now, the true question is, where did you train on the train?" she asked, grinning at the play on words. "Depending on where you were, that has an affect on how much good training you got," she said, propping her chin on her hands once more. This was just too entertaining.
"You'll be teaching me?" she repeated, a smirk automatically slipping onto her lips. "Well, I will be sure to wear padding, but I advise you to wear something you don't mind getting dirty... because I'm going to sweep the floor with you," she replied.
Hmm, he was right. For a Hufflepuff Nathan sure debated like a Ravenclaw. Not that Delphi would really know that for sure, she had only been attending Hogwarts for a year now. It was really just a guess. She assumed Ravenclaws were good at debating, being so clever and all. "Okay," Okay, she wouldn't argue. Delphinia would eat, but not too much for her tummy. Hopefully it would be enough to satisfy him.
Picking at her roll, Delphi took another bite and set it on her plate, taking her fork instead to poke at her chicken. A silly little smile was offered in response to Nathan, taking a bite of her food as he ate, too.
And then he had to ask. Was she excited for the new school year? After all they had just went through? Laughter. Quiet, but still laughter. That's what came, followed by her hand over her mouth until she managed to swallow what remained in her mouth, already chewed, without choking herself. "Oh yes, I'm so excited I can't stand it." Green eyes on his, Delphinia shook her head, a brilliant smile on her face. "How about you?"
She was eating. And not protesting.Finally.
He couldn't help but join her laughter next - .. she looked very Delphi-like when she laughed like that. "I am pretty excited myself, yes!"

........ blink blink.
Louisa's cheeks started burning when Elijah went on and on AND ON about how she didn't want to miss this "stud". Little did he know that she knew perfectly well what kind of "stud" Elijah was talking about, and no, mister fraud Louisa didn't want to miss that. Not without some fighting, anyways. "Do you come with a mute button? ELIJAH, shut up for a second, okay!!" GEEZ, her face was burning and her nerves were definitely not at ease today. The Ravenclaw sighed, wiped the untouchable blush off her face and rubbed her temples a bit before lifting her gaze to see Oakey settling down in his seat, solemn.
Okay.. lecture... right.. she cleared her throat, worked really really really hard on NOT thinking of stuff her mind kept thinking of thanks to the fraud Huffie over here, and started, "I don't care enough to lecture people about their studies, by the way. This is just... a fun fact about Louisa." She waved her hand and then moved to the side so that Vickers and Elijah were standing in front of her, "I never, ever, in my life believed that there is this level of idiocy and recklessness where two people sneak into a place full of officials and out of the blue claim the identity of other officials." She was scowling, switching her glare from the mastermind of this criminal act to the taller hawttt 'claw without lingering on his face or eyes because that was grumpy-mood killer. "Did you even think of how the rest of the night could go like? No, the rest of the term since you two actually walked in and sat with us!" Throwing her arms up in disbelief, "How are you going to explain to the others when Lewis and Spike actually show up in class or during the feast! What if someone calls upon them and THEY answer? How exactly are you going to go on through the term like this!? What do I have to say when they interrogate me!!" PANIIIIC! DISASTER IS BREWING.

Bliss returned Fee smile instantly, she really liked her. She realised that it would be a shame when Fee graduated, she might miss her. "Oh, that's good," she said and sighed with relief, then pondered over what Fee said. "My best friend, Terry is a Snake," Bliss explained, smiling like an idiot, like she always when she thought about him. Frown. that didn't sound right..hmmm, and Blue, he smiled like an idiot around her too. Frown. "Also, Theodore and Serenity are my friends," she said, proving that that she'd had quite a few nice snakes around her. Like Fee, she could add her to the list. She looked at Fee and sighed, noticing that her gaze had fallen upon her bandaged wrist. Bliss opened her mouth to speak, then closed it..remembering her wrist, reminded her of the throbbing pain coming from it. But she had to answer Fee, so through clenched teeth she said, "On the train..I fell and broke it.." Her voice was pained and also relieved.
It was true, Fee's name was so..cute and cool and that was a good mix. "No problem," Bliss replied and smiled at the older girl. Absently Bliss wondered what Fee's school life had been like so far, hopefully good. Just like hers would be, yep, it would. She wouldn't have it any other way! "That's right," Bliss agreed, looking down the Hufflepuff table, what a nice lot of people they were!

Ella was starting to get hungry again, a good sign considering her lack of appetite usually meant something bad was happening with her. She looked up at the staff table, willing the speech to happen so she could eat...and then go to bed. She was growing tired and more sad of avoiding eye contact with Sophie.
The third year didn't expect any more company and so when a familiar girl greeted her, she probably looked a bit surprised. "Alex? Hi!" She hadn't seen her in a while, yeah? A long while, actually. "My summer was...it was good. I um...I got a new puppy! His name is Dino." Best to stick to the positive parts of summer, yeah? "How about yours? Did you have a good one?" Ells hoped so. "Well I am sure that once classes and stuff start then you will know" especially with quidditch and how much she loved it. Maybe that will make her glad that she is back, quidditch training and the matches.. all waiting for them.
Ella nodded, attempting a small smile that probably looked as half-hearted as it felt. "Yeah we did...have fun. It was nice spending time with them." And she wished her Dad was here now to make up some excuse for her to leave because the more she talked to Harvey, the sadder she felt. The smaller blonde nodded when he talked about his siblings being happy her was gone. "I...well maybe. I bet they miss you when you're gone, though." That's what siblings do, yeah? Miss each other? And then Harvs was looking at her weird and Ells didn't exactly know why so she looked down at the table, biting her lip. "Yeah...yeah. I'm sure once classes start up I will." Hopefully.

Oh! A hug? Ella appreciated that. She could use all the hugs she could get tonight. She gave the older badger a squeeze and a genuine smile when she let go. "You're welcome.
Messy? Ella gave the boy a small smile and returned the wave. So he WAS coming back to Hogwarts after all. Alec knew this now too, yeah? She actually laughed, a real genuine laugh, when Messer called himself 'Uncle Messer.' Yup. Her fellow badger had done the impossible. Ells was smiling now. Even if only for a little while. "Uncle Messer? Can I call you Uncle Messy, instead?" Cause Ella would enjoy that. "So what have you been up to all summer? Alec and I...well we thought something bad might have happened. We were a bit worried." She was allowed to say that, yeah? Alec wouldn't be mad that she had shared that with Messer? She hoped not. She didn't want any more friends mad with her. Cue a glance in Sophie's direction. Frown.
And then there was food. FINALLY. Ella piled some on to her plate and slowly began to eat, looking up every now and then to glance at her friends. She wanted to be full and then curl up in her bed and sleep. That's what she wanted right now.
Belle noticed a familiar face from the prefect's cabin. Belle waved to her and asked her, "Hey didn't i meet you in the prefect's cabin, you are Renesmee right?" she asked to make sure she got it right.
This food seemed to be taking long and Ness was getting only hungrier by the second. She looked up at the staff table once more and pouted as she still saw no sign of the new headmistress giving her speech.
Sigh...she wanted food! She was exhausted and wanted to get to bed as soon as she could. Before her moaning could continue someone was talking to her and it was then she noticed the new prefect, Annabelle. She waved back at the older badger and then smiled.
"Yeah, that's me." she gave her a nod. "You're welcome to call me Ness or Nessie though." Most people around the school did. "You're Annabelle, right?" That's what she remembered the new prefect had said on the train.

"Congratulation on the badge, Captain." Grins. "It look like we got another red hair captain." After Keefer now Nessie. That's pretty cool, no?
Blink. Huh? Captain what? Ohhhh riight! He was talking to her.
Finaly realising someone was speaking to her she began paying attention to Messer, who was sitting a few seats away from her. It would take some time getting used to getting called Captain. It was a whole new thing and unlike any of her other nicknames.
That was sweet of him, and cute too, but then Messer was after all one of the cuties around here. "Thank you, Messer." she gave him a grin back and began giggling as he mentioned the red hair. "Red hairs have more than you think in common." she giggled again. It was true her, Keefer and Selina were all quidditch lovers and also according to some gossip she had heard, their new red headed Mistress had played quidditch too.
According to Nessie red heads were simply the best, and no she was not being bias. If there was thing she liked about herself it was her hair, it was one of the only things she never ever wanted to change.
"You gonna try out for the team?" asked Ness wanting to start getting an idea of what people she was expecting to see at try outs.

But then, a person with ginger hair walked between him and the far wall and... Alec jumped. It... was that... Ness! Alec let a wide grin spread across his face as he watched the older girl. This was another one of his sisters! And, from the shiny glinty badge on her robes, Alec knew that he just had to talk to her and congratulate her.
So the third year got up and went over towards the ginger girl. But, the closer he got to her, the more he noticed the look on the girl's face. Alec puffed out his cheeks as much as he could before letting all the air go. There. It was ready to be pinched! And then Ness could be happy, right? Yeah! GRIN!
"Ness! Hey!" he said, squeezing himself into a seat next to the girl, "Erm... congrats Ness! I bet you'll make a great Captain!" Yeah... a cheek pinching Captain. That was pretty awesome!
There was another one of her cuties. It was Alecutie! Her pout from earlier turned into a smile as he sat beside her. She turned to face him and of course..Boom! Smack! The first thing that caught her attention was he's cheeks.
Had he done something to them? They looked extra pinchable today. Hmm...maybe they had just grown more adorable over the holidays, because you know cheeks grew. *whistle*
"Alecutie!" she couldn't refrain herself from using the nickname, and neither could she refrain herself from extending out her hands and pinching he's adorable little cheeks. She missed that over the summer and only after a few moments of doing so she put her hands away. "Sorry about that."she knew he was used to it by now though, she did it to him almost every time she saw him, she couldn't help herself.
Blush. Second person at the table to already congratulate her...at least she wasn't getting too much attention. She didn't want that...not when she was tired like she was. "Thank you, I will try my best." she promised him, she couldn't reasure him one hundred percent that she'd be great. She had HUGE footsteps to follow and as much as she would try her best, it would be hard.

"So we are in the same House I see." So exciting!!!
All these new Hufflepuffs there were so many. Renesmee eyed them all and smiled at them. They were so small and adorable, the firsties anyways. She looked at each as they came to sit down and oddly began eyeing there cheeks. They were so miniture and they looked sooooo pinchable, but she knew they'd be scard beyond their minds if she had to pinch any of them.
"Welcome new, badgers!" she said a little loudly to make sure the younger ones could hear. She would have wlecomed them personally, but she'd have more time to do that later, and now she was too busy looking at someone she was a little surprised to see. She was still happy with who it was though.
It was Logan and he was walking their way, which meant he was sorted into the yellow house. A wide smile formed on Nessie's face. This was great, no even better than great. She watched him hug the other girl from the platform and automatically started blushing when she got a proper view of he's face.
"We..We.." she tried again, but went all shy at Logan and instead turned the other way, pretending not to say anything.

Almost screaming, Ness eyed the ghost in he center of the table. She wasn't afraid of him really, it just creeped her out how had appeared out of nowhere. Hogwarts was then after all a crazy school and it needed crazy. yet awesome ghosts.
As her shock face was replaced with a smile she looked up at her house ghost. "Evening, Fat Friar." she nodded politely at him. "I am indeed, how about you, Sir?" she asked him in return.
Finally the speech had started and Ness could now focus her attention on the Headmistress, which she did. She listened to everything she had to say and nodded every now and then.

"I do sometimes forget that some of you aren't used to me popping up! No way is it your fault, my dear," the Friar smiled, bobbing some more and shimmering in the candle light.
"Very much so. Always lovely to meet new and returning Badgers!"

"Good evening, young Lion!" the Friar boomed out down the table as he was greeted by the red house child.

Eventful?
"I've heard nothing, my dear. What on earth happened? I assume it has to do with why some of you look a little....damp, for want of a better word." He floated closer so she could fill him in completely without having to shout it out. Crossing his translucent arms and fixed a concerned expression on his old face.

Laura looked at the ghost surely this ghost fellow knew an ancient man. "I'm sure you even knew Mozart." Saying that she was sure Professor Vindictus knew him.
Dude? Children nowadays had such a way with words.
"The trouble with Mozart, my dear," in the context of this feast anyway, perfectly lovely music. "Is that you need instruments to play most of his pieces. And all we have is our voices. Which, while they are an instrument of sorts, I suggest you'd struggle to play Symphony number 5. Perhaps you could just go and say hello once the Headmistress has done her speech?"

He asked the Friar.
He really would need to be more careful when making his entrance. Last thing he wanted to do was scare the poor children.
"Forgive me, young man. Nate? Nice to meet you. You can call me Friar, everybody does!" And Fat. "Splendid, I'm splendid. Thank you for asking."

F.F? He liked it.
He didn't like that long face though. Not at all.
"Why so sad looking, young Oakey? Back to Hogwarts - what could be more exciting? Come on now, tell the Friar what the trouble is..."

As her shock face was replaced with a smile she looked up at her house ghost. "Evening, Fat Friar." she nodded politely at him. "I am indeed, how about you, Sir?" she asked him in return.
"Wonderful as always, my dear," the Friar replied, grinning broadly at the young 'Puff.
F.F. is his new best friend if he does this. Lookin at Vickers Louisa and Elijah
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

There was nothing wrong with telling a ghost your troubles was there? Probably not. "Well you see F.F." Oakey started folding his hands together and resting them onto the table. "I want to prove that I'm not a little kid anymore, but there's an older student who keeps treating me like one." He looked back over to Louisa now berating Vickers and Elijah, no doubt for impersonating Spike and Lewis on the train.
Then he had an idea, a horribly, wonderful, awful, brilliant idea. "F.F. could I ask you a favor?" Oakey leaned in some so that he couldn't be seen plotting something against Elijah with the Fat Friar. "Could you oh I don't know, pass through Elijah Wilde over there." Doesn't one get really cold chills once a ghost does that? He nudged his head to the side some, indicating what direction the Older Baboon Faced Hufflepuff's
spot. "I'd cheer up instantly, and it would make for a good laugh for everyone."
