Board of Governors Board Room

It just so happens that the room the BoG has been given... used to be a dusty old classroom and practice room for student needs. The dust is gone, the desks have been replaced by an elegant business table, and the governors all have comfortable, reclining executive chairs now. Only the long, green chalkboard on one side of the room remains of Classroom Eleven.

Annie smiled a little toward Ian and led the way, indeed, up through the entrance, past the Great Hall, and straight toward an inconspicuous little room beyond the main staircase.

"This," she gestured toward the door and its fancy brass nameplate, "is YOUR room, Mr. Amoroso. And yours too, Mrs. Branxton." Of course, she was the President after all.

"Remember when I said you could come visit any time? This is likely where you'd be visiting." She nodded, signalling that Amoroso go could on in.

"Oh, yes, my dear Annie." Cassandra entered the room and did a quick tour, taking in the lovely new decorations and furniture. They had certainly put every effort into re-purposing the room for the use of the Board of Governors. Cassandra touched the chair at the head of the table and longed to sink into it for a short rest.

"Are there supplies available? Quills and parchment and things?"

Ian entered and looked... well... disappointed.

He wanted to come back and interact with the students, not be cooped up doing work! Still, it was nice to have a place to come to when here...

"Was this your 'Tour?'" He asked hoping this wasn't just it...

"Of course!" Annie answered the former Headmistress brightly. "What kind of school would we be if we didn't even have basic supplies like quills and parchment?" She would have laughed, had it not been for idiot Amoroso, striking again.

The redhead shot him a sharp look. "Of course not. I was HOPING to have caught the other Board members by now... but it seems you lot are a little short...." Good thing they would be getting new members soon, right? Perhaps the incoming BoGgers could tell time better than Hops and Lainey....

"I believe Hops has a business to run, and Lainey..." Cassandra didn't want to hear a word about her dearest friend, especially when Lainey was likely doing something highly sensible and useful elsewhere in the school. Stalking a troublemaker or checking on the elves or... any number of things.

"I wasn't sure if the supplies would be on hand here or if we'd need to request them. I have no doubt you lot keep the parchment industry working hard all year long."

Yes, he did have a business to run much like Cassandra Rae said and that was exactly what the man had been up to. That and the fact that he had been sort of distracted by the Poltergeist and admitedly lack-luster Hufflepuffs that were taking up camp in the Entrance Hall.

After making it through the soapy mess out there, Harold found his way after asking a few portraits to the room that the Headmistress was showing to Ian and Cassandra. Opening the door slowly and popping a salt-and-peppered head into the room Hops spoke, appologetically. "Sorry Annie, little emergency at the Broomsticks. Some goblins from Gringott's were a little...let's just say heated, at my choice to close up early." Hops knew very little Gobbledygook but he understood when someone was mad perfectly well.

"So this is where we will be able to take comfort when visiting and doing work then?" he looked around the room nodding with satisfaction. The Board president seemed to like it and that was good enough for him.

And Lainey had business, too.

Though you'd be hard pressed to get just what was exactly out of the former Professor.

Additionally, this new room? Board room? It gave her the creeps. Sort of like that old Spirit Room. Something about it felt unnatural.

She did eventually show up though, after that Hops dude. She'd more or less trailed him through the castle, sneaky-like. Suspicious-like. Lainey-like.

Lainey sniffed the door, then peeked in. SUP. "I'm going to wait out here."

Just FYI. Then she shut the door and stood JUST OUTSIDE the door/IN the door frame like a guard gargoyle.

"Been touring on your own, I suspect," Cassandra nodded towards Hops and Anj... who was waiting outside, apparently. That was fine. She had a loud enough voice to be heard from several feet away.

"You know, Annie... may I call you that? Or do you prefer Anastasia? Regardless..." Cassandra made faces at a bit of peeling wallpaper. "I know that the previous Headmasters have had some... contention with the Board. I'd like us to avoid that sort of relationship."

Yes, well, Anastasia wasn't criticizing them for taking care of their "business," but she and her time were important too!

Thankfully, the missing governors showed up without too much more delay. "That's all right, Hops," she smiled at the handsome man and tried not to roll her eyes too much at the woman who'd decided to wait outside. "This is your board room, yes, for when you do make trips to Hogwarts. It will remain locked otherwise." She smiled and moved back toward the door.

Turning at the sound of her name, Anastasia paused to consider Rae's request. "I prefer Annie," she shrugged. It was much more informal. "And I agree, Cassandra... I'd rather work WITH you than for or against you." She gestured for the Board to mosey on outside. "Let's continue this tour then, shall we? The first floor houses THREE of our most important classrooms, as I'm sure you remember, Cassandra, Lainey...."

"Yeh? What's on the first floor? OH WAIT! The Muggle Studies Bird! I mean..." he corrected himself and said "The nice young woman who teaches muggle studies shouldn't be too upset we barge into her area? Let's go there next." He said and ran out the door towards the staircase and up to the hot Muggle Studies professor... Just cause he can't pick the pretty flowers anymore, he can still sniff them... though it'd be awkward sniffing the woman... Mehhh...

Oh good, she wasn't uspet with his being late.

The man took in the room and nodde his approval. The place was nice, roomy and seemed adequate enough to meet their needs. He was about to ask if there was anything she needed of them business-wise a the moment when Cassandra spoke up about the very topic he and the President had conversed about during the redhead's speech.

Trying to ignore the urge to stare at the Lainey woman standing guard by the door, Hops looked at Annie's face for hints of annoyance or fear? She didn't give away many emotions though which could mean honorable intentions; he answer was one that suggested so. "Ah moving on, let's go. It is nice to see the Castle as an adult, things don't seem quite so big."

He held the door open for his collegues and the Headmistress, giving Cassandra a knowing smile as she passed through.

"At ease, Ms. Vice President." Harold said amused as he passed her.

She absolutely knew she was not permitted into the Board of Governors room, although Vivi rather thought there might be some leniency if she was caught inside. Still, she'd play by the rules... she hadn't come to make trouble anyway.

She'd come to leave a gift.

Vivi leaned against the door briefly as she removed her charmed frame and heavy Transfiguration text from her satchel. The pressed and tried bell flowers were tucked inside the tome, and it only took a moment to remove the flowers and parchment and slip them into the frame.

There now... that was rather pretty. Vivi stooped to set the framed flowers against the base of the door. Other people might wonder what the gift meant or who it was from, but she knew that her mother would understand immediately.
