Hogwarts RPG Name: Elijah Wilde Graduated | Farmer Carter | | Ama's Secret Not here to take the locket? Hmph. That was a likely story. Elijah would still be keeping an eye on this peculiar 'Puff. "I suppose there is no law against browsing," he said as the youngster wandered off into some aisle.
"Heeellllllllloooo," he said into the general emptiness of the store once more. Where on Earth was this shop assistant that apparently looked ssoooooooo much like the girl in the locket? Well, he'd be the judge of that. "Can I have sommmee assistaaancceee pleaasse? Payyyinnggg cusstommerr?" that last bit was a lie. Elijah had far better things to be spending his galleons on, like flowers to impress girls and crystal ornaments to bribe Professors with (you're welcome Williamson).

Hogwarts RPG Name: Archie O'Brien Slytherin Third Year | Nate wanted to look in more about this "Amarantha" because Nate wasn't believing the Badgers story. He obviously knew more, but he wasn't going to tell him. That badger was very suspicious which is why Nate didn't believe him.
So as he was searching he came across something interesting. He flipped through a few chapters, and this is what he found. Quote:
Aside from the brief bowtruckle infestation set down by Archimedes Ollivander (see Chapter 22), the 1752-1753 school year was remarkable only as the final time the dungeons were flooded by the Black Lake. Headmaster Irmgard Blacio set out the first primitive anti-leak charms throughout the lower floors of the school, charms that remained intact in some iteration until the Mermish invasion of 2068.
Several students fell victim to what was believed to be a resulting black mold infestation, although medical records from this time period were spotty and unsophisticated. Known symptoms included headaches, fatigue, and blackouts. The mold infestation was officially listed as coming from damp lake water creeping into the kitchens, as a group of Hufflepuff seventh years suffered the most serious side effects: six of them slipped into a coma that lasted through May and were only awakened successfully by the excellent ministrations of Head Healer Walton Persch right before the end of term.
The school was well dried out by the fall of 1754, the next time accurate records can be found regarding Hogwarts history. Blacio is remarkably silent regarding this time period, which is strange considering the fact that the Hogwarts Headmaster was an avid writer and kept up-to-the-minute journal entries for most of his life. Indeed, an entire vault at Gringott's is filled with his 419 journals, and the space is specially charmed for book preservation. This author has been provided only limited access to these journals, so that despite the many rumors printed in the local press at that time, no factual evidence about the period immediately following the black mold infestation has been discovered. This author will not deign to acknowledge rumormongers within these factual pages.

"Yes, what is it?" Amarantha emerged from the back room looking rather more pinched than usual, but her features smoothed out at the sight of her customers. Oh, goody. It was so very trying when the students weren't allowed into Hogsmeade, and here she had a few dropping in to see her. How lovely.

Nerida walked into the familiar bookshop she had visited her first trip into hogsmeade this year. Walking up to the counter to see the familiar shopkeepers face. She smiled and said "Hello. I read that cheese book that you showed me the first time I came. It was good. I thought it would be very boring but it actually wasn't I learned some stuff! Do you have any books that you would recommend?

Elliot entered the book shop, her blonde hair tied loosely in a pony-tail. Her blue eyes glinted brilliantly in the sunlight streaming in from outside...and her own excitement. Last time she had been to Hogsmeade she hadn't had time to visit the book store..but now, she wanted to desperately buy one. And maybe even a book for her father? Her sisters hated reading...but Elliot needed a new read. She glanced around the shop, looking for anything to catch her eye...

Books...books...Dylan needed a book!
An Alchemy book.
Yes, that was exactly what he needed.
Entering the shop, the Slytherin eyed his surroundings carefully. There were rare and ancient-looking books covering most of the surfaces...Surely there could be just ONE on his chosen subject. Alchemy... "Excuse me..." Was the shopkeeper in?

"You're looking for books? We have so many wonderful books." Oh at last! The shopkeeper eventually arrived into her shop and then she was SWAMPED by students all of a sudden. "Exxxxcccuuuusssseee meeeee," Elijah said, butting through the 'Puff from earlier and the 'Claw. "I think we will all find, I was here and waiting first. Skippers."
Hmph.
"Hello Miss," he started off, all sweet like, flashing her his best smile. It wasn't until he was right in front of her that he could totally and completeeeely see that this girl looked nothing LIKE the one in his locket. Kurumi and Vickers needed to get the lenses in their glasses checked out. The girl standing in front of him had a MUCH larger nose and her eyes were far more rounded, almost too big for her face. Yep, they all had been delusional. Mmmhmmm. Elijah was NOT just trying to see what he wanted to see. Nope.
"I don't suppose you've had some visitors as of late? Adults, I mean. A blonde with a bad temper and a man with a slightly unhealthy obsession with dragons, perhaps?" he enquired of the girl. The only way this whole situation could get worse is if he had gotten here before the Professors had even had a chance of pawning off the locket on the shopkeeper.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Archie O'Brien Slytherin Third Year | Nate watched as the Badger pushed him out of the way. Rude much! And talk about an ego. It doesn't matter if you were here first, I was ready first! Grrrr. He thought. When he heard him starting to talk he used the swarming people to move behind a bookshelf nearby without being seen. He then listened in on their conversation. He'd stay back there until he got the full story about this locket.

What had he called her? A skipper. Elliot was no such thing. NO SUCH THING. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize browsing the shelves for books was not counted as...skipping..." she drawled, eyeing him with distaste. The blonde remembered this one. The obnoxious puffer form potions. Cute, but obnoxious.
Merlin.
Puffers were weird. And they said Ravenclaws were all a bunch of weirdoes, did they? Well Elliot disagreed Puffers were mean, evil, AND WEIRD.

Puffers were weird. And they said Ravenclaws were all a bunch of weirdoes, did they? Well Elliot disagreed Puffers were mean, evil, AND WEIRD. Just as soon as he had finished asking his question to the shopkeeper, some OTHER Ravenclaw started getting all prissy with him. When Elijah turned to her, he noticed she was the girl who had asked him for help in potions. "Um, there seems to be some misunderstanding," Elijah said softly, "I wasn't talking to you... I was talking to that other 'Claw," he pointed in the direction of the girl who had been talking about cheese books. His attention turned back to the shopkeeper. It seemed as if all the CRAZIES were out as well as the SKIPPERS.

Elliot, the queen of scowls, should be her nickname.
But he did say he had been talking to the other 'claw. Nerida, then, because that was the only other one Elliot spotted. "Good..." she said, and she stuck out her tongue at him as he turned away. Stupid puffers. "And it's Ravenclaw...how would you like it if I simply called you pufferface?" she asked, an eyebrow raised and her arms crossed. Now. What, PUNK!
Yeah. Elliot went there.
Pufferface.

It's just a silly little thing, but it is SO precious to me," yep, definitely not the girl on HIS locket.

He'd have to look more at the book he's about to purchase. He decided to play along with it. "Ok. Never mind then. So anyways aftr I make the purchase would you mind if I read in here?" If it was one thing Elijah was good at, and there aren't many, it was looking at girls and when he looked at this girl, he saw her REACH for the place where one might place with a locket, as if she had a phantom limb of sorts. "Trust me, I do NOT want to speak to that boy over there," he said quite firmly, probably in compensation for the women's own curt tone.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Archie O'Brien Slytherin Third Year | After Nate was allowed he went to he front right hand corner of the room, and sat down to read. So he started to read. He opened to the page he read earlier. He then turned it to the next page to see if it would say anything about this 'Amarantha and the locket'. He started to read, and this is what he saw. Quote:
...
1750 - 278 students
1751 - 302 students
1752 - 299 students
1754 - 332 students
1755 - 312 students

He noticed that a year was missing. He'd have to ask her about that. Then he turned the page to see an old daily prophet article that read. Quote:
Silence From the Castle Finally Ends
21 June 1754
Perhaps we shall never know why the professors and students at Hogwarts School have refused contact with those outside the castle for the past school year, although speculation from parents and the Board of Governors abound. Mercurio Medfast, governor for four years and father of two Hogwarts students, commented for the Hogsmeade Harbinger, "It is of our opinion that Headmaster Blacio is hoping to make use of the affection we have for our families through this misguided and immature show of temper. My children would most certainly have returned for Christmas and Easter if under their own power. What he hopes to prove by exerting his authority is unknown."
Indeed, the Headmaster and his staff prove elusive for those seeking comment regarding the silence over the course of the term, which only seems to further the speculation that Dark Magic was performed upon the students in residence at the bequest of the Head. Head Boy and seventh year Slytherin Herald Escalante, class of 1753, agreed to speak to the Harbinger, although his untruths made any testimony implausible. Herald Escalante insisted that he was still the Head Boy, despite his supposed graduation a year ago. Ravenclaw Daniel Westbrooks, supposed sixth year, refused opportunity to comment, insisting he had OWLs for which to prepare, and Hufflepuff Amarantha de Talone, also class of 1753, would only say that they had been asked by the staff not to speak with journalists.
Lies? Refusal to speak? The Harbinger begs the indulgence of its readers in this story, as hard facts are impossible to find. What we know is that this is a mystery that may never be solved, especially with students sworn to secrecy and professors playing as willing pawns in Blacio's game.
That's when he saw the same name as hers. He got up, and went back to the desk saying. "I found this in the book I want to buy. Also it has your name in it. See" He said pointing to her name. "Also on one page are rolls and it's missing 1753."

"You found a locket? Where?" There was that movement again! She was touching her neck, and then no sooner had he observed this than she had gone and admitted to having one previously. She didn't sound overly excited at the prospect of potentially having it back, though. Maybe Elijah would keep it after all.
"Well, yes I did. It was during one of my lessons in the Forbidden Forest up at the castle. A bowtruckle dropped it... except my Professor stole it off of me. She's a little bit greedy, ya see, so probably wanted it all to herself and that's why she hasn't been down to see you."
"There was a picture in the locket..." Elijah admitted, "And it did kinda look like you. There is a very high chance this is your locket." HE SAID IT OKAY? "But... pardon my saying so, you don't seem too thrilled by this whole thing? Do you not want your locket back? Surely if it is an heirloom it is something precious to you?"

DID SHE LOOK LIKE SHE CARED ABOUT HISTORY???
"That's sublime. You have an interest in history? There are some books over on that wall that are full of fascinating tales of pirates and princes and penny-pinching peasants." Alliteration. It was a thing.
As for her name... Amarantha peered at it in the book before shrugging. "I was named after my great... great great great... great... grandmother. Or something." Quote:

She spoke far too loudly, and her words were all jammed together. What was with all this NOSY NEIGHBOR game? Since only the two boys seemed to be paying attention, Amarantha struggled for the best way to handle them for a long moment.
"Would you like some tea? I have a lovely old tea service."

How interesting I will go look at it now. She would have never thought to read a book on cheese or salt but ever since Amarantha suggested a book to her she just had to go check it out. Walking over to the window Nerida picked up the salt book. Read a couple pages before setting it down and walking back up to Ms.Amarantha. "It looked interesting but I was just wondering if you had any murder mysteries?

"Would you like some tea? I have a lovely old tea service." Oh great! So her name was Amarantha and she had been named after some OVERLY great grandparent. The locket definitely was hers. How could even he deny it at this point? But, if it really was hers, it still seemed curious to Elijah as to how unconcerned she was NOT having it. "Tea would be nice," Elijah responded sweetly.
