The streets of Hogsmeade are clean, cheerfully lit, and full of chatter with the store fronts advertising their wares. However, the alley behind the shops is dark, dank, and kinda... creepy. |

"She got away?" Tate wasn't precisely sure what was going on, but the escape of their captive wasn't exactly good news. Still, it appeared no one was injured, and it sounded as if everyone had pulled together... for as much as they could do. He nodded at the shopkeepers.
"It looks like this situation is well under control, but you lot did well here today. No one hurt, and you knew to get help." He scrubbed his hand through his hair, making it stand on end. "Let's head back to the castle for now, and I'll chat with Saul and Hops. Expect to hear from me for more details, and we'll pass the information on to the MLE."

Dylan was so caught up in the scene unfolding before his eyes, he totally missed one of his Beater's sneaking up on him. Or perhaps Ken hadn't been sneaking...and Dylan just wasn't paying attention...? Either way, it startled the bless out of him.
Jumping just a smidge, the Slytherin turned to face the other. "Guy, announce yourself next time! You nearly gave me a heart attack." Surveying the older boy, he noted the Honeydukes bag. With a smirk, he turned back towards the action. "I'm lurking and being nosey...without putting myself out there." Of course. "Turns out that chick from the rear book store was 1000 years old or something." Seriously...And he'd thought she was hot.
Yep, a chick intervention needed to happen for him.

Saul had a good hold on Amarantha at first. He was even disregardin' the fact that she was the size of a little girl an' about as strong as one too, so determined was he to hold on. Then she stepped on his toes with the force of an elephant and he almost screamed like a little girl. But damn, that step had hurt. It was so very tempting to hop around making 'ouch' sounds but blast it all, she was getting away! "DAMMIT," Saul spat, clutching his empty fist up in the air as she apparated away. Damn that woman and her magical ways! He was not going to forgive himself for this one. And now that the Headmaster was here, he was goin' ter have ter make apologies.
"Sir," the Dervish & Banges shopkeeper sighed, "She confessed ter it all. I had 'er in my grasp. It's my fault she got 'way." He hung his head.

Everything happened so fast that Hops wasn't sure exactly what had gone down until Aramantha had Disapparated.
O____o
The Three Broomsticks owner slammed a fist into his other hand in frustration and cursed under his breath. How had she broken free from Saul, the man was at least twice her size. She was a sneaky one, always had been. He knew there was something wrong with her.
And now the Headmaster was here, getting his Carp patronus. Quote:

"Headmaster, sir. Saul here, it wasn't his fault, not intirely, no." HE said shaking his head quickly, "She's a red-head, the fisherman when I was a kid always talked about how sneaky and trecherous they can be to the tasks of men." Hops said eagerly to help his friend.
Oh there was another red-headed student girl there? Oh well.

Selina was still fuming about the whole lamb comment when Gideon addressed her upset and told her he had no clue where the nickname had come from. Even so, she did not appreciate the fact that the old bag had called her boyfriend such. Lamb. What kind of stupid nickname was that?
But when she did finally look at her boyfriend, because she had been grumbling internally to herself, she suddenly remembered that he was wandless. Maybe she should not have been so vocal about her upset at the nickname when he had his wand JUST taken from him. For a wizard, being without their wand was one of the hardest things and it could not have been easy for him. Try to be more sensitive, Skylar. So she decided to zip her lips about the whole nickname thing for his sake.
That was when the headmaster arrived. He was just a little late if she said so herself, but he was all the up at the castle. She could not begrudge him for his lateness. He was a good Headmaster anyway, so it was good that he even showed up at all.
But then one of the two older men who had showed up to help snatch the grandma and let her get away started to go on about how it was his fault. The other man then reasoned that it was not his friend's fault and then said how all redheads were troublesome and how sneaky and trecherous they can be to the tasks of men. The redhead's eyebrow rose up and she crossed her arms at his comment. How insensitive was he? She was standing RIGHT THERE. Biting her tongue she cleared her throat a little so the man knew that she had heard him. She wasn't going to say anything, but still... that was uncalled for.

| Time to go folks Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - ❄ Lunar Library Lurker ❄ - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror The Gryffindor wanted to groan at the Slytherin boy continued to be overly outgoing and bossy, directed the headmaster to what should be done next but he kept quiet. Had he not been listening? She said she had nothing back at the shop, no paraphernalia to speak of. Whatever...the boy decided to finally leave the seen and Gideon couldn't help but think that was one less person they had to worry about going all crazy here.
Gideon nodded at Tate's words, taking in the instructions meant for all of them. "Aye Headmaster." He glanced around at his fellow student leaders...Selina, Kurumi...now Kennedy as he had appeared at some point after the headmaster had arrived. The prefect figuring it would probably be best for them to lead the rest. About to say something,he stopped as he heard the one shopkeeper's words about red-heads and noticed Selina react. Gideon rested a silent hand on her arm to try and keep her cool before turning to the others. "Yer heard the headmaster...lets go..." he said echoing the man's words, nudging the younger students along. "Back to the castle," he added taking a lead.
No point in them standing around listening as the grown men discussed whose fault it was she got away...or drag him into the matter. It had been his wand she used to get away after all.

Kennedy smirked an amused smirk when Dylan jumped. Success at being the sly snake he was, hehe. "Just keeping my snakes on their toes," he shrugged, an amused glint in his eyes. He then turned his attention toward the crowd once more. Meh. Kennedy liked Dylan's answer, without putting myself out there... Not like the other snakes that were out there...with a 1000 year old woman.
What in Merlin's green briefs?
The Prefect wore a confused expression on his face, but got rid of it quickly. "Well, isn't that something," he said, "where is she at?" he asked, craning his neck to see, though his height allowed him to get a good view from where they stood. The shop keeper hadn't looked that old when he saw her through the shop window. She was actually pretty...ack! He thought a 1000 year old lady was pretty.

"We'll need your memories of the confession to help file the charges. All of you," Tate addressed the crowd. It was... painful to see Saul and Hops confessing to doing less than they should, when he was certain everyone present had tried their hardest. Sometimes... in spite of best efforts, bad things happened anyway.
"I don't hold you accountable for anything that happened today. There will certainly be questions by the MLE, but no one believes you're accomplices. For now, however, I think we ought to shoo the students back up to the castle, as the day is drawing closed."
He did give Hops a hard look for his implication that hair color could somehow create a villain, and he dropped a supportive hand briefly on Miss Skylar's shoulder before moving past her, as much encouragement as a reminder to hold her tongue.

Glaring back slightly, Dylan sighed. "I'd prefer you not use that trick on me..." Really. What was with his team wanting to keep him on his toes? Isaac had said the same thing... "She poofed." Yep, one moment she was there, the next she wasn't..."...with Giddy's wand, I believe." Hadn't she snatched it? Dylan thought that's why he'd seen. Serves the Gryffindor Prefect right, though...sticking his nose where it wasn't needed. Of course, the same could be said for the Slytherins... How Nancy Drew of them all...
The Headmaster had then showed up...and Gryffindor Wonder was telling everyone to clear out. As if the power trip in CoMC hadn't been enough. Who'd given that guy a badge, anyway? "Looks like the show's over..."

"Looks like the show's over..." Kennedy shrugged. Dylan wasn't the only one he's surprised like that, but if he didn't want Kennedy to do that then he wouldn't. Unless, he forgot, then that wasn't his fault.
Giddy? O_o
Ah, Gideon, the Gryffindor Prefect. Hehe. Nice nickname, Montmorency, though, Kennedy didn't say that out loud. He wasn't supposed to encourage name calling, meh. " She took his wand? Dang, that must suck," he said. He bet a certain Ravenclaw knew how that felt. Cue smiiiirk.
He was a tad disappointed. Kennedy was all ready for action...from afar, of course. Apparently, they weren't having that today. "Ah, well," he shrugged. As long as it didn't concern any Slytherin or anything related to their house then it was fine. "We should go too, then." Unless he wanted to stay and watch everyone leave.
Kennedy nodded toward the castle and began to walk. It was time to go back anyway.
