It’s a known fact that fire and paper isn’t a good combination. The library has therefore always featured a sparse number of torches on the walls to minimize the danger to the books. On test this year the torches have been replaced by enchanted firefly lamps. A good number of stained glass windows grace the walls at regular intervals where the room is connected to the outside wall of the castle to ensure that adequate light comes in. Stretching from floor to ceiling these windows depict famous witches and wizards from history, important historical events and beautifully detailed magical creatures.
Come sit down and relax in one the cushioned window seats. Read a book under the warm gaze of a healer or the roaring growl of a dragon. According to legend work gets completed faster if you sit in Rowena Ravenclaw’s window so why not try if there is any truth to it? The glass in the windows can’t be broken by spells or physical force but please be mindful and respectful of the beautiful artwork. Remember to keep your voice down since many people come to the library to study or get a moment or two of quiet.
Minerva thought about it for awhile. "He did finish his seven terms, though right?" she knew he came back as a professor, but did he finish school at Hogwarts. That would have been horrible if he didn't. She was a little frustrated that she didn't know all this information from the books she had read. She decided she needed to take some more books out. "Well stop it.." she teased "You want to keep her, then just keep your lovey thoughts to yourself." she chuckled a bit.
Maxwell nodded. "Yes, his friends helped him get through his terms." He said smiling and fought himself from mentioning the shrieking shack and the whomping willow, no one really needed to know about that... Maxwell laughed a little. "Yeah, I know. Who knew the way to drive a girl away was to try and be romantic?" he said only partially joking, he didn't understand Taylor sometimes...

Minerva shut her book and put it in her bag they hadn't talked about the actual topic in some time, so she was going to chalk it up that research was over for the day. She was feeling a bit tired anyway and had to get some flying practice in anyway before tryouts. "Well just be romantic by flowers, enchantments with music or things like that. NOT by talking about long periods in the future." she smiled a bit standing up. "Hey Maxwell I got to head down to the pitch for a bit of quidditch practice. I have tryouts coming up soon. We will continue this soon, I promise."
Maxwell nodded. "Yeah, I mean i do that stuff too and sometimes i just do or say things without thinking..." He said scratching his head. "Yeah, Okay have a good practice he said standing up.

The library.
A place where Ronnie could just be away from everyone and be by herself.
She smiled with happiness as she entered, her bag hanging loosely from her shoulder.
The window with the dragon on it was open to sit under. Phew! That was RONNIE'S spot. No one else's! She plopped down on the cushion, and made herself comfortable. She then took out her sketchbook from her bag and flipped it open, and began drawing a picture of a dragon.
Gwen had thought of not reacting like a total Ravenclaw this term, and not rush to the library from the first day they arrived back at Hogwarts. Well, a few days had already passed, so enough is enough. With hasty steps, the fourth year made her way along the corridor, quickly coming closer and closer to the library.
As soon as she entered, the Ravenclaw took a deep breath. She missed this place! After a while of looking around, scanning the bookshelves and finally managing to pick a book, Gwendolyn decided to go read by the stained glass windows. It was, after all, one of the best places in the library. With a quick look around, Gwen noticed the window of a famous healer, and decided to take a seat there.

Neat clothes. Check.
Clean shoes. Check.
Sarah entered quietly into the library. She liked this place more than the sunny lawns and lake side. Don't know why, but this is more peaceful. She placed her bag on a nearby table, tied her hair up in a pony-tail and went to grab a book. She needed a bit of light reading.
Just then she spotted Gwen near the window. She gave a small wave instead of calling loudly. The librarian would probably chuck me out. She picked her bag, and walked towards her Herbology partner. "Hello there, partner" she said, smiling. placing the bag on the table. She drew up a chair and sat down opposite Gwen. "How's homework going?" she asked.

After a while of studying the windows, Gwendolyn drew her attention towards the book she was holding in her hands. Honestly, she was never able to just start reading whenever she came here… the windows were kind of distracting. Never mind how the others managed to focus. So, with her eyes fixated on the book, the Ravenclaw started flipping its pages, carefully scanning the titles of each chapter.
Where was it?
Seriously. She was almost sure this was the right book. Twirling it a bit in her hands, Gwendolyn turned the book around, read its title and the name of the author again, as she tried remembering if this was indeed the one she had been looking for. Perhaps it is…, the girl told herself and went on searching for something. Here it is!
I knew it!, she told herself, but then her thoughts were interrupted by a voice sounding somewhere close to the place where she was standing. ‘Hello’, the fourth year grinned as she noticed Sarah. ‘What are you up to?’, Gwendolyn asked and then drew her attention towards the book she was holding, quickly memorizing the page number, in case she did something stupid and had to search for it again.
‘Homework?’, the Ravenclaw questioned. What homework? For what? If she was referring to the book and what she was looking for now, then no. This wasn’t homework. Anywaaaay.‘By the way… I’m sorry about the Herbology class… ‘, she started saying. Ugh. Saying ‘I’m sorry’ was definitely one of the things she hated doing. Hmph. Apologizing.

What I was upto? Whaaa! "I didn't do anything" she said with a grin. Generally, Sarah was always up-to-something. Sarah sat comfortably in her chair. "How come you ended up alone here?" she asked as she brushed the strands of hair away from her eyes. Sarah opened her bag, took out her Charms book and opened it when Gwen questioned her.
"Didn't you see the notice board?" she asked, "The Herbology homework-" she continued, "-we're supposed to answer a few questions" she said. She took in Gwen's shocked look and understood that the girl didn't know it yet. "It's ok, there's a long time for submission" she assured. And then the raven apologized. Sarah closed her book and rolled her eyes. "No need of any sorries for that!" she said, a little louder. "Besides we started late remember" She hated when friends asked sorry for small things, and even for bigger things. "No sorries again, ok?" she said, trying to get the I'am-warning-you voice, but she smiled mid-way. "So what're you reading there?" she asked, pointing at Gwen's book.

Umm. What?, Gwen looked a bit puzzled at the girl. ‘All right…’, she gave a small nod. I know you didn’t do anything. It was like… a ‘how are you’, or ‘what are you doing here’… Pfffft. Perhaps it wasn’t the other girl’s fault, perhaps it was simply Gwen’s brain damage. Or not? Hmmm.
‘I…’, she started saying. Merlin, the way Sarah asked sounded a lot like ‘forever alone’. ‘I just needed a quiet place’ Pffft. And somewhere to avoid meeting Zeke too. Bleh. ‘And you?’, Gwen finally asked. Meh, she wasn’t the very talkative person, and this was- after all- the library. Keeping quiet wasn’t bad.
‘Oh, no. I did. I just wasn’t sure which one you were referring to’, the fourth year felt the need to clarity that. There’s just a lot happening right now. And so many things to do, so many things to finish. Pffft. Gwendolyn made a mental note of starting the Herbology assignment soon.
As soon as she noticed Sarah’s reaction to the apology, the Ravenclaw felt actually relieved. She hated saying things like ‘I’m sorry’. ‘Good’, she gave a small smirk and then looked back at the book. As soon as she started reading the first paragraph, she heard Sarah ask something.
‘Just this… for potions’, the fourth year said as she raised the book , holding it in a way that Sarah could easily see the title. Then again, no need for extra details and way too many things to share. Gwen started thinking she was exaggerating with potions sometimes, but meh… If there was something she liked…
She flipped a few more pages, but then returned to the one she had tried memorizing the number of the page for and went on reading. It was complex. Way too complex, and perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to go brew this in the lab. Quit worrying, Gwen told herself. It will be fine. I know I can do this.
Besides this plan with brewing the potion, the Ravenclaw had many other. Like finally deciding if it was a good idea to try out for the Quidditch team? Mhm. That she would probably avoid doing. ‘Are you trying out for the Quidditch team?’, the fourth year asked as she raised her eyes from the book and looked back at Sarah.

Sarah nodded. She'd been trying to set a time aside for Herbology, but it just wouldn't fit. Gwen showed her the book she was reading. Potions. She thought about Lafay and shuddered. The professor, oh leave it. "So you like potions a lot?" she asked, obviously she did. Sarah opened her book again and read a few lines about a healing charm.
She raised her head when Gwen asked her something. Quidditch? "Yeah" she said scratching her chin. "I just signed up for the Gryffindor tryouts yesterday" She thought of giving the broomstick game a little try. "Are you going to?" she asked, many people where into sports these days.

The book she had picked proved to be kind of useful. It didn’t take her long before she managed to find what she was looking for. Having selected the potion, which seemed a bit too complex, the fourth year started examining the ingredients she would need for brewing it. Hmmm.
I can definitely do this, the Ravenclaw told herself and read the procedure of brewing the potion quickly, just to see if it was as complicated as she thought it would be. Erm. It was. But anyhow, it was worth a try, right? Riiiight? As she heard Sarah say something, the girl drew her attention towards the Gryffindor. ‘Oh yes. It is one of my favorite subjects’, she gave a small smirk. ‘And you…?’, the fourth year asked. Erm. It was kind of obvious from that shudder that Sarah wasn’t fond of potions.
But she seemed to like Quidditch. ‘Good luck’, Gwendolyn grinned. ‘Were you on the team last term as well?’ Because she wasn’t able to remember which players were on the Gryffindor team last term. And still… what am I going to do?, the fourth year asked herself and glimpsed out the window. Why did it take her so long to decide? It was very unlike her.
‘I…’, she started saying. ‘I don’t know’, the Ravenclaw admitted. It was odd that the reason wasn’t the fear of flying. She didn’t have that. But it was more like the fear of disappointing her house and the people on the team? That was more plausible.

Sarah shook her head. "Potions" she paused, "It's not that I don't like it. But to be very very true, the professor sort of gives me creeps" she said, acknowledging. Gryffindors were not supposed to be afraid of anything, but this was not being afraid right? "But for a personal choice, I like Charms" she said lifting her charms book as a sort of proof, "And closely followed by DADA" she smiled. Yes. Those where her favourites.
"Thanks, I really need a lot of luck" she said, when the Raven wished her for the Quidditch tryouts. "No, this is my first time" she said, "Actually this is the first time I signed up" She'd been pondering over signing up for the last years. "You could also give it a try" she told Gwen. "Maybe we could practice together before tryouts" She smiled. Practicing was good.

Even though she had tried to keep a straight face while listening to Sarah talk about potions and Lafay, Gwen couldn’t help it and stated laughing. ‘I see’, the fourth year finally said, with a grin on her face. A lot of people thought that way too. Oddly, the Ravenclaw wasn’t one of them. ‘Oh. Charms is great’, Gwen gave a small nod. Indeed. Charms and DADA. The fourth year really liked Sarah’s choices. But if the Gryffindor’s least favourite was Potions, Gwen’s was definitely Astronomy. The Professor was great last year, but she simply wasn’t able to like the subject.
Oh. Right. The talk about Potions made her remember the book she was holing in her hands. She quickly grabbed a quill and a piece of parchment from her bag and started writing. Name of the potion… yes. Ingredients… Procedure… While writing down everything she needed, Ravenclaw paid attention to every step she had to take while brewing the potion. Better keep this in mind.
‘And what position have you signed up for?’, she asked as she finally raised her eyes from the book and drew her attention towards the Gryffindor. Hmph. Give it a try. The way Sarah suggested it sounded kind of encouraging for the Ravenclaw. Perhaps it wasn’t even so, but meh… Right now, Gwendolyn was considering it. But then the other girl suggested practicing.
Pause.‘That is a great idea’, the fourth year admitted. Truth be told, she had been willing to ask someone to join her and go play Quidditch. Practicing with someone that wouldn’t mock her for tiny or huge mistakes sounded good. It really did.

"But Charms is what keeps going" she finished with a small nod.
Sarah watched her write down something on a parchment. She read it from the other side. Clockwise/Anticlockwise turns? Writing down a potion preparation? She waited for Gwen to finish. "Are you going to brew that potion or something?" she asked, pointing at the parchment.
"Chaser" she said promptly, when Gwen asked about the position. People fuss about Seekers but Chaser is the person that turns the game lively. "I'm not that expert or anything. I learnt flying when I came to Hogwarts" she clarified. Better not think I'm too good at flying. "But I can make it without any bruises, I guess" she grinned. "We could practice anytime if you like. With or without team sign up" Yes. I'd love to get into the air. I mean, on the broom. And go Whizzz!

Ella carried her bag on her shoulder, her arms full of books, and tried to find an empty seat under one of the windows. Spotting a chair under Rowena Ravenclaw, a small smile appeared on the second year's face. That was the perfect spot to read!
Plopping down in her seat, she placed the books gently in her lap and let her bag fall to the floor with a *thud.* Her habit of carrying around everything she would possibly need in the event she got stranded somewhere was proving quite tough on her poor shoulders and she rubbed them, closing her eyes while she tried to relieve the throbbing pain. After a few minutes, she opened her eyes and picked up the book on Magical Creatures, wanting to do some reading on Pygmy Puffs.
Morgan took her sweet old time getting to the library. Just because she was a Ravenclaw, did not mean she always liked to study, especially alone! Her shyness really was taking a toll on her friend making abilities. She looked around seeing another girl with a rather large bag, and decided to sit at the table next to her. She didn't want to intrude on her of course. Slowly she pulled out her History of Magic book, dreading the essay that was in front of her, wishing a brick would fall on her to put her out of her misery.

Ella couldn't read anymore. Her eyes were growing tired and what she wanted to know just wasn't covered in the Pygmy Puff section of the current book she was reading. Sigh. Closing the book, she stretched her arms in the arm and looked around. She saw a girl that looked to be about her age sitting close by and waved. "Hi, what are you studying?" She asked quietly, placing the books she had on her lap in front of her and standing to walk over to the girl.

Scribble. Scribble. Scribble.
There. She had almost finished writing her notes about the potion as she heard Sarah mention something about DADA. Mhm. She liked that too. She still had the same opinion about almost all the classes since her first year. The only exception was Herbology. She started liking it. Gwendolyn Greene started linking Herbology. What was next? Astronomy? Naaah. She will probably never be able to understand what that was all about.
Truth be told, Gwendolyn had seen her friend--- were they friends now? Anyway, Gwen liked to consider Sarah as a friend.---looking at the piece of parchment she was holding, but she simply tried to cover the name of the potion discretely. Otherwise the girl would think she’s insane to even think of trying to brew that. Most likely… ‘Yes’, she said simply and then took back the book in her hands and started reading about the history of the potion. Not that it was necessary… but mehh.
‘Chaser?’, the fourth year repeated as she looked back at Sarah. ‘That’s interesting.’ If she would have tried out, that would have been the position she would have liked to play. Then she just listened to the girl talk about learning how to fly only at Hogwarts. Than it must be in the genes…, Gwendolyn told herself as she tried to avoid over thinking this and getting to remember all those things she had read about since last year. ‘Perhaps you are better than you think you are’, Gwendolyn heard herself saying. Because Sarah seemed the kind of person who was able to make it a bit better than just ‘without bruises’.
Then again, why was the Ravenclaw so nice? Eh, perhaps she had been sufficiently mean to certain people that day that it was enough? That sounded like a plausible explanation. And she was NOT becoming a Hufflepuff. Neverrr.‘Sure. So how about we go practice sometime next week?’

Morgan looked up just in time to see the perfect distraction looking up at her and waving. "Hi there, just some history of magic" she said lifting up her book. "i'm Morgan by the way. Nice to meet you." she added happily. Anything to get away from the dreded, and the girl seemed nice enough. "What about you?" she continued "anything facinating going on over there?" she said with a chuckle pointing to the girl's table.

"What about you?" she continued "anything facinating going on over there?" she said with a chuckle pointing to the girl's table.
At the mention of History of Magic, Ella frowned. "History of magic, huh? How's that going?" Not that she hated the subject exactly, it just wasn't always the best reading material. The frown disappeared when the girl introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you, Morgan. I'm Ella. What year are you?" Cause they did look to be about the same age. The second year laughed softly at Morgan's next comment, following her finger to where she had been sitting. "Oh I was just reading Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I'm trying to learn a bit more about pygmy puffs but I didn't have much luck." Shrug. "My pygmy puff has gone a bit-well nutters lately."

"Well, not exactly the best!" Morgan replied "It's not an awful class, just...erm...dull...no...that's not right, just exhausting!" she added with a chuckle. "Nice to meet you Ella, have a seat if you like. I'm a second year, just like you, right? Didn't I see you in potions?" she said gesturing to the seat next to her. "That book is wonderful, but I really don't know that that's the best for pygmy puffs. You see, not that pygmy puffs aren't fantastic, but I have this odd feeling that it won't be fantastic enough for good old Newt." she said smiling. "What exactly is wrong with the little angel?" she asked. Morgan tended to have a soft spot for animals after all.

Ella laughed softly as Morgan explained her thoughts on History of Magic. She completely agreed and nodded her head. Yup, History of Magic was certainly exhausting! When the invitation came to sit, Ella did so happily, plopping down across from Morgan. Oh, so she was a second year too! That was nice. "Yup, you're right. That was me. Potions is fun, though I'm always afraid of messing up the ingredients." Which is why it always took the second year so long to brew hers.
When Morgan started talking about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Ella rested her chin on her hands and smiled. "You're probably right about that. I mean as fantastic as they are, they're no dragons." And that was the truth. As for what was wrong with Barnabus, Ella frowned. "My pygmy puff, Barny, he's been acting really strange lately. He ran for the Whomping Willow the other day and wouldn't stop. I thought he was going to hurt himself!" And that was strange, yeah? Cause pygmy puffs had to sense danger too. And the willow was definitely dangerous.

"I wouldn't say potions is fun" Morgan said with a chuckle "Don't get me wrong, it's bloody facinating, but if I had a choice between it and a full grown mama dragon, i'd choose the dragon! I'm always afraid to blow something up, or worse, poision someone!" she said getting a shiver up her spine. "Oh no, poor Barny!" Morgan added in response to the pygmy puff's strange behavior. "I'll have to help you figure it out! Did you try talking to the professor of care of magical creatures?"

Ella couldn't help but laugh softly at Morgan's choice. "A mama dragon?! Wow, what a choice." GRIN. "Poisoning someone would definitely not be good! Imagine." * Shudder* "That's why I go very slowly when I work" Morgan's concern for Barny brought on another smile. Aw, this girl was really nice. And she was going to help? That was great. "Thanks, I'd like that." She said with a nod. "Yeah, I'm going to see what he thinks as well. I just thought if I did some research it might help cure him faster or something" Shrug.

"Yes ma'am, a mama dragon!" Morgan said smiling. "I'm the clumsiest person alive, so I'm afraid that I might trip and something horrible will fall in, and well, the rest would be history" she said with a grimace imagining the horror. "I think we could try looking in the section on animals, i'm sure there's a book on it. There's a book on everything in here! Honestly, it's a dream come true!" she said, as books really were her passion. She certainly belonged in Ravenclaw! "Research is always good. It can't hurt. Let's look for a little, and if we don't find something, i'm sure Professor will be able to help" she said with a hopeful smile.
