The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.

"You too?" Jordan said laughing. He couldn't wait to dig in, and start feriously eating. "Can't wait to see what the Hogwarts Kitchen has served us." In reality most of the Hogwarts Kitchen was made of non-human creatures. But he didn't know their exact names.
She laid her head on his shoulder, "Not really...." Tay sighed, "I still feel bad.... but it is probably just the long and horrid day." Taylor grimaced.
Maxwell gave her a half smile. "Everything will be all right, I think it's just been a long day." He said hopefully, would she really stick with him? He hoped so. "I'm sorry for walking off at your table, i just didn't want to over-crowd you." He said honestly.
She sat down and kept her head on his shouler, "I hope so and yeah it has been a very long day." Tay sighed, "It is fine, Maxwell, though you didnt over-crowd me at all."

Maxwell smiled. "Well, i'm sorry if i hurt your feelings at all. I didn't meant to or make you think i was mad. You just seemed overwhelmed." He hoped she knew he was telling the truth.
She wanted firsties. Brooke wanted to meet all of them. Apparently, that became her goal for the year- meeting all of the first years. Merlin knew it would be almost impossible, especially since she was so much older than them. But still, it was at the top of her list. She tilted her head slightly, glancing farther down the table to where a few of them sat and she couldn't help bit grin. SO CUTE.
Somewhere in the middle of all of this, she felt finger tapping her shoulder, but when she turned to look, it appeared as though no on were there. She frowned. Turning her head back, she found a new face next to her.
"Charlie!" She grinned, still completely oblivious to the fact that it was probably him who had tapped her shoulder.
Charlie laughed, shaking his head. It amazed him how she could be so oblivious. Although, he appreciated how excited she seemed to see him. "Hey, Brooks." He said with a grin, grabbing a plate and piling food onto it. He'd already eaten some at his own table, but he was still hungry. He gets used to only eating a little during the summer, so being allowed to eat all he wants is something he looks forward to about school. "How've you been?" He asked her between bites.

Minerva smiled "Sounds like a great idea. Just let me know when you want to head up to the library to get some books."

"Hey there," he greeted simply of course not knowing her name. "I'm Gideon. Welcome to Gryffindor," he said introducing himsel and offering congradulations.
Penelope was glancing back towards the big table at the front where all the old teacher people were when she heard someone speak to her. Her head turned towards the sound and discovered it was one of the people she'd seen in the perfect compartment earlier that day. So they were both in the same house. Cool.
"I'm Penelope," she replied, assuming that, since they were sitting across from each other with a table in between them, they didn't have to do the shaking hands thing that people usually did when they said their name. So she simply nodded at the welcome. Then, assuming he might know since he was old and had been in the perfect compartment, she asked, "Do you know when the food's gonna come?" Hopefully soon. Like, now.

He decided to grab the chance to make conversation. He was trying to change after all. Maybe now was a good time. "Hey," he grinned.
"I'm Zeke," he introduced. Common courtesy right? Oh well. He stretched out his right hand a bit for a handshake. Welcome to Gryffindor," even though she doesn't seem too happy to be one. "Oh, and Hogwarts as well."
And then one of the people she was sitting beside suddenly spoke up, so she turned her head towards him next. Hey? "Hey," she replied, though without the grin.
Introductions now? "Penelope." And they couldn't avoid the hand shaking apparently since they didn't have a table between them, so Penelope accepted his hand and gave it a firm but brief shake. She nodded at his welcome too. He was welcoming her to Hogwarts as well. That was nice, she supposed.

"Hi. I'm Tag. How are you?" He introduced himself with his hand held out. His goal would be to have her smiling by the end of the night. No matter what.
And here was another one introducing himself. Gryffindors liked introducing themselves and saying their names, didn't they? "I'm Penelope." He too got a firm, brief handshake. As for how she was? "Hungry." That was really the only way to describe her at that moment.

Offering the girl a warm round of applause and charming another cookie to dance near her, Kurumi smiled at the young girl. "Congratulations and welcome to Gryffindor, Penelope," Kurumi chirped as she returned to clapping. "I'm Kurumi." The rest, well, Penelope probably already figured she was a prefect seeing as they had been in the compartment when her and West had shown up.
Oh, here was another one who she'd seen in the perfect compartment. Penelope nodded once again at the congratulations and welcome and was relieved when, not only did the girl already know her name, she also didn't stick out her hand for Penelope to shake when she spoke her name. "That's a cool name." Sounded cool to her, at least.
And then something awesome caught her eye.
WAS THAT A DANCING COOKIE?
COULD SHE EAT IT?

Finally, she spotted them and took one cookie to give to the girl.... two for good measure... three because Selina wanted one.
With a few quick steps she walked over to the girl and took a seat beside her. Then she slid the two cookies over to the girl and said, "Here you go... you look a tad hungry, kiddo." And hunger was not a laughing matter.
Penelope had to tear her eyes away from the dancing cookie when yet another person showed up-
-who just pushed two cookies in front of her.
This girl, whoever she was, was instantly Penelope's favorite person.
"I am hungry," Penelope agreed before snatching the cookies and stuffing them quickly into her mouth.
These cookies...were amazing.
"Are there anymore?" she asked once she had swallowed and her mouth wasn't full of awesome delicious cookies.

Evil. He was the Chocolate-frog-thrower. MEANIE HEAD. She just stuck out her tongue almost playfully and then turned to other LOVELY gryffindor's near him.
"Hi do you guys want cookies?" She asked smiling kindly. "My mum made them and told me to make new friends - well to meet people who were real and not imaginary" she giggled. She didn't have imaginary friends she was actually pretty nice. She wasn't CRAZY.
Lets face it she was crazy.

Oh yeah. Take yo cookies away from his Gryffindors. HIS GRYFFINDORS.
THEODORE'S.
Cookies? Did someone else mention cookies?
Penelope turned and spotted another girl with a plate of cookies. FOOD. She was about to speak up when someone else - a boy - said that the Gryffindors were fine. NO.
"Us Gryffindors are HUNGRY, actually." Not fine. Definitely not fine. So hush and let us have more cookies, Gryffindor boy. STARE.

Red? Hmm... she wasn't expecting that. A lion reference possibly. But not because they were red.
"Is that your favorite color?"
This girl made Theodore feel kinda uneasy. She was being unusually nice when all of the other Gryffindors were being annoying and NOSY. Eh, he should be appreciative.
"YES. Red is amazing. Best colour for a house, don't you think?"
Alas, why he wanted this house.
Simples.

:O
HOW RUDE.
Theodore felt that he should inform his fellow GRYFFINDOR on the gossip before anyone got hurt. "This Ravenclaw will throw cookies AT us." So it was absolutely out of the QUESTION to let her.
"She was throwing CAULDRON CAKES at the Slytherins earlier." Just sayin'.
Just tryna protect everybody.

Lea was not excited. Not even a bit. Of course she was not as now she was a big second year girl. The dark-haired girl was playing with her fork as her dark brown eyes watched the people around. She did not feel like talking to anyone but, on the other hand, she was pretty much bored too. The girl had to find something to entertain herself.
Or...someone had to entertain her. That could be just way better. Narrowing her eyes, she started to eye every single person at the table one by one trying to choose a victim.
This one or this? Ooooooooor this...or those who were not Gryffindor, at all.
It was hard to choose.
Grayson saw a girl sitting at the table, looking around at everyone else. Her curious brown eyes wandered around as she played with her fork. Grayson looked at her as he waited for her to look at him.

His hand unconsciously tightening ever so gingerly within Selina's own however.
Grayson saw a few thoughts flash across Gideon's face. Oh yeah this should be an interesting year.

"I'll have to take a picture when we get back up to the common room." Anya said with a nod. Oh! She'd send one to her older brother too! He'd probably get a kick out the matchy-matchy.
"So did you too do anything fun together over the summer?" Or boring. Anya was really open to hearing either type of stories.

Anya looked around at the other tables and their banners. "You know... you are absolutely right." she said with a nod. "I don't think I noticed until now."
No wonder he didn't want to sit at his own table.
"And being a lion is pretty cool. The other animals are kinda smallish." Like the birdie. And the snakey. And... what was the other one? A badger? She had no idea how the word "Hufflepuff" and the animal badger went together. But she'd just roll with it.

Tay looked at him and bit her lip, "Well... Damon says that to me..." She sighed, "And i rather not think of him right now."
Maxwell looked at the table for a moment. "Ohh, sorry." He said feeling like Damon ruined every moment, there or not. "What did he do?" He asked. "Sorry you don't wanna think about him." He said regretting asking her.

SPOILER!!: Kurumi
Kurumi couldn't help but laugh. Such...confidence and spunk. So different from how she had been as a first year where she had all but curled up under the table during the opening feast because she didn't want to stand out. Kurumi just hoped that Tag's confidence didn't get him into trouble...
Blink blink. Huh? "But...I don't have a boat..." Kurumi replied, cocking her head to the side. If she didn't have a boat, how was she supposed to make it float? Besides, didn't boats only really float on water? Well, they could float on other surfaces, jello perhaps, but you had to take a boat out of its element as it were to accomplish this.
"T-Thank you," she blushed again. "My mother taught me how to bake..." She trailed off for a moment and her eyes widened. That had been the first time she had mentioned her mother so casually in passing, and it stung. It stung a lot actually. Her hand went to her badge, a reminder that right now was not the time for her to cry and look vulnerable, Kurumi returned her attention to tag. "It's a sort of hobby of mine, baking I mean. I spend a lot of my free time in the kitchens with the house elves."
Was she confused about the saying? "Oh, by 'whatever floats your boat' it means like "whatever best suits you." I never meant an actual boat floating, unless you find one or get a rubber boat that you play with in the tub and all-but yeah, its just a saying." He happily smiled at her, hoping he had cleared up the confusion.
She loved to bake. She loved being in the kitchens. Kurumi was already making him smile more. "The kitchen. Its a hobby of mine also. Well, not like you, I think. I eat alot, I like eating. So, I spend most of my time in the fridge. Now you know. If you can't find me, most likely I'm in the kitchen." Emptying out the fridge and keeping all prey outside from his kitchen from HIS food. Never come near him especially when his face his inside the fridge, he could turn dangerous.
SPOILER!!: Quidditch Captain
Another voice drew her attention away from the hungry girl, it was a small blonde haired boy. She was about to introduce herself and welcome him to Hogwarts when the kid blatantly told Selina she was loud. The Captain was taken aback for a moment at the kid's honesty and blunt manner of speaking, but she shook it off after a few moments and replied, "Erm thanks... being loud is kind of a requirement of being a Captain. Getting attention of the team and all."
Then she laughed a little and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name. I'm Selina, your Quidditch Captain... you are?" Irish... but that was beside the point.
"Mr. Gideon told me you're the Quidditch Captain, he told me a few minutes ago, so I understand why you have the voice. I'm sure it comes in handy for other stuff as well, like calling people to get you food and such..I know I use my little squeaky yell to have people bring me food." Because he most defintely not lazy when it came to getting his own food.
Oh,right, he forget to mention his name. "Its Tag. Tag Kildare...You may have not notice by my voice, but I'm Irish." Tag said stating the facts.
SPOILER!!: Gummy Bear Anya
"We could meet him right now if you wannnnnt. Or after the feast. Or first thing in the morning." Anya was full of all sorts of good suggestions.
The sooner the better in her mind of course. Any second without Alec was a second wasted!
She giggled lightly. "I'm pretty sure Einstein was a muggle." Of course, she could be wrong. But she was pretty sure she wasn't. "But if her was magic, he probably would me."
She sure was more than thrilled to see Alec. Probably more than himself, but the two were best friends, from what he's heard of her, so the two most not like being separated from each other for such a long time. "Tomorrow maybe. I'm tired as it is, and hungry. I don't want to meet Alec on an empty stomach- I'm grounchy when I'm hungry, but I'm barely holding out right now." Only because he was at Hogwarts. But now that he thought about it his stomach grumbled within him.
"He was a a muggle.'
0______o Umm...What'd you just say? Was that Anya speech or...? Tag was very confused by Anya's alien language.
SPOILER!!: Penelope the food lover
And here was another one introducing himself. Gryffindors liked introducing themselves and saying their names, didn't they? "I'm Penelope." He too got a firm, brief handshake. As for how she was? "Hungry." That was really the only way to describe her at that moment.
"Hi Penelope!" The boy said rather too loudly and too much of an energetic wave, even if she was sitting next to him. Oh, another hungry Lion. At least he wasn't alone on this one. "I'm hungry also. I wonder what's taking these waiters so long to get our food out. Do you think there's a delay in the kitchens?" He asked while he leaned forward into the table to try and find a place of where people might be going in and out, ready to plate the hungry students.
