Paulie listened to everyone as they gave their own thoughtful responses as to why people read books. All the answers seemed to mesh together for the most part. Aaaaand, after his request for some partners, it appeared that he had a few takers! Awesome opossum.

"Sure thing," Paulie smiled at the Slytherin girl who sought to join him. And then the youngen who agreed with Paulie's interpretation of adults' reasoning behind reading books was looking to be their partner, and Paulie readily agreed. "Of course! I'm Paulie, by the way," he introduced. "I hope you guys like acting, 'cause I gotta say - I find it quite entertaining." And he was also quite dramatic.. Ahem.

Now, their names?

Alyssa first gave her reason why she loved reading books. "I still love reading books, because I just love being able to imagine as I read what is happening. Whenever I read, I can actually see in my mind what is happening."

"Plus I also love the spell of the paper of the book. There's just a special smell about books."

Alyssa then proceeded to look for a partner. It was happening again. Everyone was having no problems partnering up and she was still looking for someone who would partner with her.

When she saw that almost everyone was partnered up, she decided to approach Professor Cerulean and Minnie, and asked,"Would it be okay if I joined the both of you?"

Minerva smiled "Oh Hey Alyssa I'm fine with it, if we can have four in our group." she looked at the Professor and Ira, "Do you mind if Alyssa joins us?" Then she turned to the librarian "Is it okay if we have four to our group?" if not she would help Alyssa find a group or she could just leave the group and find another.

Nerida thought why do people read?..Its like hes asking us why do people breath?! Realizing she said her thought at loud and quickly said trying to cover up Erm, I think people read to just have an esacpe from reality not having to worry about when the next class or homework assignment is due-well at least for a couple minutes...Also its where you can go study and learn about new things, a book is a whole new adventure, just waiting to be read... Yes the little Ravenclaw, was very passionate about reading...

Nerida had trobule getting out of her beanbag but when she finally did, she asked Would anyone like to partner up with me? Professors and students alike...

Elliot cleared her throat, but no words came out just yet. She was still DEEP in thought about the last question...hmmm..

"I believe that we still read because reading is...reading is a way for us to expand ourselves. Whether it's to expand our knowledge, or to expand ourselves into another world in order to escape, we gain something," Sheesh. I'm quite profound, aren't I? she smirked proudly to herself.

Gah...partners?!? Elliot wasn't EVER good at this...she hated new people. Gah.

She saw another girl, either a second or a third year like herself, asking for a partner. Elliot held out her hand and sent the girl her nicest smirk. "Care to be partners? My name is Elliot...I can be quite the actress when I want to be..." cue evil giggle. The blonde's blue eyes flashed mischievously.

She saw another girl, one who she recongized as a fellow claw. She called over to her..."You can join us, if you would like!" and tried her best to look semi-friendly. But it was hard to be friendly and haughty. And Elliot was always haughty.

Ella looked over at the girl who was speaking to her and studied her, curious about the smirk. "Hi Elliot, I'm Ella and sure, we can partner." As for the fact that Elliot could be quite the actress, Ella didn't mind. "Well then, we'll have no problem putting on an awesome performance." GRIN.

As for the other girl who was looking for a partner, Ella followed Elliot's lead and waver her over. "Yeah, the more the merrier." She said sincerely, giving the girl a small smile.

West perked up and since he'd practised just now and obviously was good at it, he went ahead and bumped fists with Keefer.

That was a cool name. Keef? West grinnned and then eyed the Care of magical Creatures professor.

"I will?" HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. "Okay. I will."

Nod.

Selena looked at the girl, getting way to comfortable in her seat on the beanbag. "Sure Sophie!" Selena said with a smile on her face as she waved hello at the girl. "Can I call you Papaya?" Because that was cool too. Selena wanted to call the girl Papaya. She wanted to give everyone in this room a fruit nickname.

"I'm Seleeeennna." Selena added, continuing to pet her pygmy puff. "Room for one more!" Selena called out loud.

Oichi heard she would need to partner and quickly looked around for some group that could use her. She heard a girl asked if anyone else needed a patner. She turned to the girl and said, "I do, I'm Oichi by the way.".

Nerida looked over to the person that just spoke to her, she looked friendly and looked like she was actressey. She walked over to the two and said Thanks for letting me join, I am Nerida! She smiled at the two, she was glad she had found a group quick and snappy she said So can we all act?

Pyrsephonie looked at the girl, Oichi. She had met Oichi on the train. "Hello, I'm Pyrsephonie." She introduced herself. "I think we met on the train," she said, smiling. She gestured to Butterfly. "Oichi, this is Butterfly. She's in the group too."

He smiled, "Hey Paulie, I'm Adarian Hunter. Nice ta meet ya. I used to be in Drama Club ar school before Hogwarts. So I like it okay." He was glad the boy found it entertaining looks like they may get along. He turned to the other girl who was inhis own House but he didn't know her. "Hello"

Ooohhh. Okayyyy. So Louisa was the Ravenclaw girl prefect's name! Louisa Carter! Yes yes. "Nice to meet ya Louisa!" Cardigan said with a nod as she plopped down in her beanbag, activating the weirdo beanbag fart that she had heard one too many times today! Even from some teachers! Snicker snicker snicker. "My name's Cardigan. Cardigan Johansson!" She said with confidence. It sounded better that way.

Yayy soon it would be acting time!! Hopefully she would be able to try out all her different accents and stuff. She had practiced them in the summer and on the Hogwarts Express, seeing she was alone the whole time. She could do a Country accent, New York accent(she had gone there at the end of summer), Russian accent, German accent, Chicago accent(and there as well), and many many more! Too much to name, though. Poo

Ella smiled at the girl and shrugged. "No problem. It's nice to meet you, Nerida!" The second year was happy that this girl seemed quite nice. All in all the three should make a pretty good team, that's if they could act well. As if Nerida had read her mind, she voiced exactly what Ella was thinking. "I've never really acted though I do enjoy being dramatic so that could help."

What was with the staring? And the giggling? Huh?

Surely the little Badger didn't think she'd actually popped off. Did she?

Oh lookit that! She wasn't the only one. Sending the Ravenclaw a wink, Seren adjusted in her seat again, resulting in yet another sound this time more sqeaky.

But no more fun and games by the looks of it. Down to... book clubbing business?

Seren eyed ... LEObald? was it? as he ATE in the library... wasn't that like against the rules? sort of a library sin? Perhaps he ought to reconsider this behaviour to set a good example.. unless he was alright with food in the library, in which case, cool.

Why did they read books?
"There are plenty of reasons why we read books, it's silly to place emphasis on a single reason, some read for pleasure, or curiosity, others for knowledge and it does not mean can't read for all of these reasons in the same sitting. Reading is about engaging."... Seriously... silly question, wasn't it? Or was it just her?

Oh and would you look at that. MORE staring, not that she minded... though... there was something unpleasant about Willy's face. He looked like he had a bucket load of dung under his nose-- not literally of course -- but that expression suggested to her that he perhaps forgot to shower and was only just realising his own stench. Talk about awkward.

But errr.... group work?

Couldn't they just sit and make noises with the beanbags some more?

Nerida smiled and said Ive never actually acted before but I am very dramatic as well and I can make things up if I forget what Im supposed to do! She laughed at this and said Say we could be called The Ravenpuffs!?

Why do they read books and continue to read? Well that was a good question she had to think.

The whole time she thought she seemed to blink methodologically every few seconds. "I read because I learn from what I read...and because its entertaining it makes my brain feel like its growing and getting more stronger-er...or you know what I mean - I feel like im getting smarter every time I read" she smiled. "And I continue to read because I want to be smarter and to learn more" that was her answer at least.

Mika looked up at Kaiden and beamed as he asked her to be his partner. YES. She wanted a partner. And he sounded like a smart kid really - he wanted to learn about how to make camp fires and living in castle ages.

That sounded awesome.

Castles were cool wait...they were living in a castle. THEY WERE IN A CASTLE! She beamed.

"Ooh yes yeah parnters great!" She jumbled her words together into a somewhat incoherent sentence and just beamed up at her friend. "This is going to be AWESOME" she nodded.

Like acting? "I love acting!" Nora said, cheerful as she'll ever be. "I'm not sure how good I am, though," but she couldn't be that bad, could she? Well, it was also a matter of what exactly they had to do, which made the girl even more curious.

"It's nice to meet you," she smiled at Paulie, and also at a younger boy who joined them as well, apparently called Adarian. "I'm Nora." Simple, plain Nora. Hmph.

Zhenya looked around to see that every person was joining up! Would she have to work ALONE? Oh no...

Wait there was another caller! Before anyone else could jump in, Zhenya scooted over to the two looking, her wonderful Head Girl, and said "Can I please join?" with a smile.

Ira smiled and replied, "Oh! I know you're Minerva!" Yep, she had seen the puff around. And she did seem like a nice girl.

And suddenly someone came and asked if she could join them or not. Turning around, Ira saw that it was Alyssa.

But Alyssa couldn't join their group right? Because Leobald had just said groups of two's or threes.. So it an't be four to a group, right?

But before she could reply, Minerva had already replied. Still Ira added, "Um.. I can back off if you want" Yep, Ira was okay with it. She had seen Minerva and Alyssa around together, so she figured that they might be good friends. And it was always better to be in a group with friends, yeah? "I don't think that he will like a group of 4!" she said, nodding towards the librarian.

So.. who to pair with now? Looking around, Ira saw Professor Bentley looking for a partner. So yay! She could form a group with her own head of house! That would be so cool! Turning towards Alyssa and Minerva, she said, "I can join Prof Bentley!" She said smiling.
"Hey Professor Bentley!" Ira called out. "Can we be partners?" Ira really hoped that she would say yes. It would be fun working with her mama lion, right?

But should she tell her that Ira was terrible at acting?

Kurumi had remained silent as people began moving about, her spirits slightly shattered at the moment. If it weren't for the fact that she was a prefect and needed to be here as an example right now, she very well may have just packed up her things and left. Neither one of them needed this tension right now...or heart break that came with them being so close to each other.

Her eyes were back on the librarian when he asked a question. Why did she read? To escape from reality. That was about it. Although she didn't know who she was supposed to say this to since everyone was moving around. Would have been nice to have been in their groups first and then discussed while they read...oh well.

Kurumi didn't really move, unsure as to what groups already had people in them and who was still available. Instead, she just remained in her beanbag chair holding her book.

Pairing up? Dash thought about this for a few moments. He hadn't come to the book club to participate. Just to watch really. Watch and observe. So it was what he was planning to do. If some kid wanted to come up to him and ask, sure fine, he'd do the work.

But he doubted that would happen.

He was right in a way. Some kid didn't. But one of the new professors so eloquently made her way over to the empty bean bag beside him.

He had to hand it to Tate, if the man didn't hire Professors for their skills, at least he got people who looked good. All the staff members were proof of this.

His nickname made no sense to her but she wouldn't make a big deal, at least she had something to call him besides Scabby Lip Guy. "Pleasure to meet you Dash, and you can call me Callie." There, good first meeting. They would rock this book club--a historian and an ex-bookstore employee!

"Ooh I know this student," she said pointing at the Gryffindor Prefect sitting nearby looking for a partner or group. "let's work with her!"

As she finished speaking with Dash, Calista's manicured fingers reached out to the Gryffindor Prefect and poked her on the shoulder. "Miss Hollingberry, would you like to join mine and Dash's--Professor Scabior's group?"
