Ancient Runes 3 As you enter the classroom you will notice that it has been decked out a little differently from past lessons. There are a number of small tables dotted throughout the room in a haphazard fashion and upon these tables are small candles so as to set the mood. Another thing you will notice is that there is a message upon the blackboard. Quote:
ooc: I have provided a LINK that I would like you to use for this spread. Have fun. |
Anyone? *smirks* The third Anicent Runes lesson. Tiffany was quite shocked just as she was about to enter the classroom since the whole atmosphere down here has totally changed. It was so dark and mysterious that she was kind of afraid of getting in. She scanned through the classroom and tried to look for anything that would possibly be endangering her before she took the first step inside. She stood in front of the blackboard with her tip toe going by. It was quite hard to read the words on it since the light was so dim here and it even made it hard for her to find the professor. She moved closer to see the professor's handwriting on the board. Find a table for yourself. Ok. So the lion followed the first instructions from the professor as she tiptoed back to one of the tables behind and found a seat for herself randomly. There she found the professor sitting alone in one of the tables as well. "Good day professor,"she greeted politely. "How come it is so dark in here? Can we get some more light?"she asked. The classroom was so dark that it made everything harder to see and most importantly it made her feel really scared as her goose bumps came up. What exactly were they doing today? |
Making her way into the classroom, it took several moments for Kurumi's eyes to adjust to the dark lighting and she ended up smacking her knee against one of the small tables, whimpering softly as she rubbed it. Once her eyes readjusted, Kurumi looked around and was startled to find that Professor Jenkins wasn't here. Not only that...but he wouldn't be here at all. Pouting slightly, Kurumi walked very slowly and carefully through the dimly lit classroom. "Hey Tiffany," she smiled as she walked past her fellow Gryffindor. "Who...are you talking to?" Or maybe her eyes just hadn't adjusted to the light yet. Finding an empty table, Kurumi sat down and unloaded her things before taking another look at the blackboard. "Diamond spread..." she whispered more to herself than to anyone. Taking out her textbook next, Kurumi began to flip through its contents to find out just how to perform this sort of reading on this spread since it was her first time. |
There must be some mistake.... Vickers stepped back into the corridor and looked around. This was the Runes corridor wasnt it? Sure looked nothing like the Divination tower... but why is it when he enters the classroom it looked like Professor Elwood redecorated the place? A joint class? Or did the Runes Master get PRANKED by the Divinations Maven? Wincing confusedly the Ravenclaw proceeded into the classroom anyway, picking his way amongst the small tables. He gave a silent wave to Kurumi already seated. He was about to go near her to ask if it was a joint class when he spotted the message on the board. Huh.... ok. It'd be just like their OWLs last term, but with a different spread. Guess he should go find himself a suitable table to commune with the Fates... |
Ugh. The lighting around here was just making everything harder and harder to see. Tiffany sat still on her seat, dare not moving around in the classroom because she was afraid of knocking anything or anyone off when she was walking around. She rubbed her eyes once again, hoping that it would make the words on the board clearer for her to see. "Dia...mond,"she murmured to herself, trying her best to figure out the second line that the professor wrote on the board. Just then, she heard someone calling out her name. The voice was near and familiar. She stood up and found the sweet prefect passing her table. "Oh hey Kurumi,"she replied, adding a grin. "Oh, isn't the pro..."she paused, pointing at the back of the clssroom where she saw a human-like shadow as she entered the room. Then she got nothing. There was no professor at all. "P-professor??"she spilled out the word that she wanted to say. At this point, she was really scared and frightened now. What did she just see? A ghost, maybe? Her body shivered and she went Kurumi's table and sat besides her. She was too frightened that she clutched tight to her arm. She could still feel herself shivering from time to time. "Oh Merlin. What had I just seen?"she whispered to the lion. |
Ella entered the Ancient Runes classroom and smiled. WOAH! Everything looks so cool! It was almost like...well what she imagined going to a fortune teller's to look like. But hey! Where was Professor Jenkins? She looked around for him curiously before her green eyes fell on the blackboard. O___o Huh? He wasn't even going to be here? That was different...Oh well. Class would still be cool though, yeah? Finding an empty table, the second year sat down and pulled out her rune set. And she was meant to make the diamond spread? Hmmm. The second year wasn't exactly sure what that was so she reached into her bag and removed her text book, hoping for some guidance. |
SPOILER!!: Tiff <33 Kurumi skimmed the page for something relating to the diamond spread they had been assigned to do, but was having a hard time finding anything until her eyes fell on the words four rune spread and how it differed from three rune spreads. There was even a little diagram to the side showing the four runes in a diamond shape and Kurumi's cheeks flushed just a little for not thinking of this sooner. Thank Merlin it was dark in the classroom, right? "Diamond Spread, also known as four rune spread, reveals the dynamic forces at work in a situation. It is the spread of choice for understanding a hidden conflict. The bottom rune represents the foundation that forms the basis of the issue. The left rune represents one of the forces acting on the issue at hand. The right rune represents another of the forces acting on the issue at hand. The top rune represents the conclusion to which your strivings can carry you," Kurumi read out loud to herself, which is why she didn't notice that Tiffany had joined her at her table. Looking up from her book Kurumi cocked her head to the side at her question. "Um...I don't know?" That was really the only way she could answer the younger lioness question. The sixth year then reached into her bag lying on the ground for her black velvet one containing her runes and held it in her hands while she shook it absently. Now...what sort of question should she ask? Last term questions had all been pointed towards her mother, but now...now Kurumi wasn't sure what to ask - besides things involving relationships. So...it was back to shaking her bag for a few more moments while she thought some more. Source |
Sarah entered the classroom just in time to hear what Kurumi was saying. The teacher was notably absent yet so was light. She went to find a table and sat down. From her seat she saw the writing on the board. She also saw the diagram next to it. She took out her notebook and wrote some of what Kurumi had said. She felt in her bag for her rune set and placed it in front of her. hmm. what questions should she ask it. SHe did not believe in it anyway. |
Taylor came in and instantly looked around. The classroom seemed to be very different and there was no professor... We are having class without a professor? Strange... Tay shrugged and looked at the blackboard. Find yourself a table... that is simple... She sighed and picked a table, sitting down at it. Diamond spread? Well good thing, I came in as Kurumi was explaining it... Taylor took out her bag of runes out. Think of questions? Really? Is this divination all over again? Tay frowned and sighed again. She still needed to think of two questions for that homework... maybe she will use the same questions as for today's classwork here... Writing things down? Okay... Tay got out a piece of parchment and a quill. Taylor started to write. SPOILER!!: Taylor's parchment Taylor tapped her quill against her cheek. What to ask... what to ask...She never did have any questions about the future usually... |
Nigel entered the classroom a little confused by not having the teacher here and only a note with instructions on it. What is to stop them from just leaving and saying they did the work. But he was here anyway so he went to find a table and sat down.Once he was finally seated he began to read the writing on the board. He also saw the diagram next to it. He pulled out his rune set. thinking about making the diamond spread? But Nigel never heard of a diamond spread or did one. So he took out his text book, hoping it would have the answer. And if it did not he would make something up. |
Alyssa entered the classroom expecting to see Professor Jenkins but he was nowhere in sight. Instead was a classroom full of students and something that he had written on the board. As Alyssa read, she realized what he wanted them to do. They were supposed to do a reading on something she didn't know how to do? 'What the heck is a Diamond Spread?'Alyssa thought to herself as she looked around before finding an empty table and sitting down at it. All she knew was that it involved Ancient Runes and the runes that she made. So she first pulled out her writing materials and her journal before digging in her bagpack for the bag containing the runes. She placed that on the table before digging out the textbook on Divination which she had borrowed from the Library. Alyssa opened the book and flipped through the pages. First of all she needed to know what a Diamond Spread looked like. She kept turning the pages until she came across a page that showed a sample reading. She studied the example of Diamond Spread layout printed on the page. Now that she knew what the layout looked like, next she knew that she had to think of a question before she could start drawing the 4 runes from her bag. What would she ask about? Would the question be about herself and her future? Would it be about her family and their future? Would it be about her friends? Alyssa knew that she couldn't rush it. The question she asked would have to be an important one and not some nilly willy question just so she could finish doing the reading and leave the class. So she took her time thinking about it. |
As Jory entered the classroom, he looked around but he saw no Professor. But there were a few students there already. He spotted the message on the board and after reading it, he headed off to get a seat. "The Diamond Spread...'' he though as he took out his text. Jory found the topic and began to read until he was sure he got an understanding of the Spread. Now, to find a question. |
SPOILER!!: the question-less girl xD Her body kept shivering as the lioness still couldn't figure out the reason why she could have possibly find the professor in this classroom. Let it go then. Don't ever think about it anymore. There was a voice in her mind, kept telling her to let it go. Right. It wasn't the time for her to hold herself on this issue that long, she still got tasks to do which were given from the 'real' professor. Gaining back her conscious, she found her hands had stopped trembling from fear which was good that it seemed like she was trying to get herself away from the fear. As she turned to Kurumi, she found herself still clinging onto the elder lioness' arm tightly. "Sorry,"she said as she lifted her hand away from her arm."Does it hurt?" Tiffany pointed at her arm. She was really sorry if it really did hurt her but she got no idea about that trembling thing...she was just too frightened, especially under this whole darkness. Tiffany listened to what Kurumi had just said which was exactly something that she was thinking about minutes ago. The tasks that they would be finishing today. A diamond spread? An understanding of a conflict? So does it mean that they could know the answer from it if they do have a problem that can't be solved by themselves? But the question is...the girl had no question at all, not really some big conflicts. She simply scratched her head, thinking for more that she could ask. |
Text Cut: Vickers! ^_^ As Nessie walked into the Ancient Runes classroom she blinked a few times as her eyes began adjusting to the darkness. Was this the right place and all? It didn’t really seem like it. She felt like she was in Divination or some fortune teller room or something. It was highly odd. She ignored this though and continued walking trying to spot where the Professor was so that she could greet him. There was no sign of him though and that she found even more odd. She eyed the black and then read the instructions to herself. Where was Professor Jenkins? Was he maybe busy? But with what? Renesmee pouted at this as she began wondering what sort of problem or issue had caused the Professor not to be here. She stood there for a while and then shook her head deciding it was better to focus on the actual instructions. Find a seat. Right! That was almost like normal class procedure, she could do that. The red head looked and found an empty table which she began heading over to until.. DOOF! She by accident bumped into an older Ravenclaw student. "Oh gosh! I’m sorry, I didn’t see you." She said at once going red in the face. |
SPOILER!!: erm...girl with the death grip? Truth be told, Kurumi was too lost in thought over what sort of question she should ask that she didn't even notice Tiffany had been holding on to her arm. Which was sort of strange considering that her arm was moving as she shook her bag of runes and therefore very much aware of the slight restriction. "Hmmm?" she asked as if she were somewhat coming out of a trance. Which, if Kurumi was being entirely honest, she had been. But at least she now had a question that she wanted to ask - although immensely private and she wasn't sure how to go about writing her essay on her reading without going into too much detail. Professor Jenkins probably didn't want to know too much about the love lives of his students after all. Glancing down at her arm, Kurumi stopped shaking her bag and looked at her fellow Gryffindor. "Oh, no, it's perfectly fine," she nodded. Erm, Tiffany clinging to her arm like that and her arm itself. Attention back on her rune bag, Kurumi loosened the ribbon tying it together and slipped her hand inside where the mixed the runes around for another moment before pulling out her first rune and setting it in the first position on the table. "Kenaz," she said mostly to herself as she glanced at her textbook again and read things over. SPOILER!!: Kenaz Once she had jotted this down on her parchment, Kurumi reached into her bag again and pulled out the second rune and frowned when she found it to be inverted. Inverted meanings were never good...so the Gryffindor squirmed in her seat uncomfortable as she glanced back at her textbook again. SPOILER!!: Wunjo Swallowing nervously, Kurumi reached into her bag again to pull out her third rune. At least this time it wasn't inverted, so hopefully that was a good sign. SPOILER!!: Berkano Hands trembling slightly as Kurumi reached into her bag again, the one that would tell her the possible end result, she hesitated for a moment. Just at a quick glance these runes were accurate. A little too accurate for her taste and she was afraid that the end result would be something along the lines of 'no'. While that sort of answer would probably be best for her, Kurumi's heart didn't want to accept it. Or couldn't rather. So it was after one last deep breath that Kurumi reached into her bag again and pulled out her fourth and final rune...and it was inverted. Kurumi's heart sank as she referred to her textbook again. SPOILER!!: Perthro Kurumi simply looked down at the spread on the table for a few moments not really registering the full meaning of what she was seeing. Her mind was wrapped too much around her rune that represented the forces or energies that give insight into the final outcome of the situation being inverted to really see anything else clearly. |

Oh. Professor Jenkins wasn't able to attend his class? That's... strange. Shrugging slightly she turned to her bag and started searching for her rune stones bag, that was when she spotted the kid, Nigel, from her house. "Hey Nigel... want to share rune reading?" She grinned at the younger boy, pointing to the other vacant seat on her table. It was far more easier and fun to do it with someone else, she knew that from last time reading the stones with Vickers. Mhhmmm. |
Quote:
After a couple more minutes he looks up to take a break when he hears his name being called. He looks towards the noise and sees it is his prefect talking to him. Hmm.. He wondered what he did wrong to have her attention. But was relieved when all she wanted to do was share rune readings. He quickly decided it would be more fun to do this in a group then by himself. And maybe she knew what this diamond spread thingy was. He stood up, grabbing his book bag, and his textbook. He walked over to the empty chair Louisa was pointing at, sat down, smiled at her, and said. "Hi, Louisa, sure lets share rune readings. And do you know what this diamond spread thing is?" |
Having problems using that link so will have to delay reading. Post 1 Alyssa finally came up with a question but wasn't sure whether she wanted to reveal to everyone what it was. She had always wondered about her future with regards to that because right now it didn't seem that the possibility of what she was thinking of was ever going to happen. But now she had her question. Concentrating really hard on the question, she picked up the bag and dug her hand into it and mixed the runes around inside before grabbing the first one and taking it out to look at it. |

That was the general theory, the Ravenclaw then opened her text book and pushed it to sit between herself and Nigel as she read from it. "The diamond spread reveals the dynamic forces at work in a situation. It is the spread of choice for understanding a hidden conflict." She paused pointing at the diagram next to the paragraph where four stones of runes were arranged in a diamond shape, then continued reading, "The bottom rune represents the foundation that forms the basis of the issue. The left rune represents one of the forces acting on the issue at hand. The right rune represents another of the forces acting on the issue at hand. The top rune represents the conclusion to which your strivings can carry you," pointing at each stone as she went on. Louisa looked at the boy and chuckled, "It's not as complicated as it sounds. Here, let me show you how it works..." she started untying her pouch of rune stones. "I will draw four random rune stones from this pouch and place each one of them in the imaginary diamond shape here on the table." She slipped her hand in and took the first rune out putting it on the top of the imaginary diamond shape, "First one for me is Jera." Her hand went back into the bag and fished out the second rune, "Second one is Wunjo," she placed it opposite of the previous one. Repeating the process, the third rune stone was out of the pouch, "Tiwaz," she placed it in the bottom before getting the fourth and last rune for her reading, "Kenaz is my last one." Tadaaaaaaa! She had her spread was ready. "And now we use the textbook in order of interpreting the runes in their respective positions." Louisa finished with an uncertain smile looking at the boy to see if he got the process or not. He could do this step as Louisa waited for him before they start working on the interpretation separately. |
Seeing everyone else starting, Sarah decided to get to work. Oh what was she stuck on... oh the question. As this was to be entirely random - Sarah got the first question that came to mind- will someone ever agree to marry her. She dug into her bag and pulled out for the facet of the past section (the bottome piece) the rune URUZ. What did that mean... SPOILER!!: URUZ The next rune Sarah pulled out was Wunjo, she placed it in its appropriate place and wrote things down on it from her textbook. SPOILER!!: Wunjo [ inverted meaning The next rune she pulled out -the third rune, the rune of distracition - was the rune of Mannaz SPOILER!!: mannaz Finally, one position lay vacant - the final one, the outcome. The rune that Sarah had for that was Sowilo. This is what the textbook said, which Sarah copied on her own paper. SPOILER!!: sowilo |
Vickumi! Elijah was groaning. Yes, GROOOAAAANNNINNNGGG. Bloody Ancient Runes AGAIN. He needed to owl Headmaster Tate and make him aware of the ridiculous OVER teaching of this subject. Elijah's head was STILL hurting from the last lesson, even if he had been flirting with a certain Gryffindor prefect for most of it. He walked into the room, still a bit pouty when he saw the BOARD. Now, this was not just any board, oh no. THIS board was magic! THIS board informed him and his classmates that the Professor was unable to attend this lesson which meant...! Wait. Why were people working? What on Earth were they doing? Couldn't they READ the BOARD? The board said there was no Professor... Sure it said some other mumbo jumbo about a task that they had to do, but what Jenkins didn't know couldn't hurt him, right? Elijah took a second to mull over whether or not he would just leave considering there was no Professor to dock house points if he did so, but he did note that a couple of people had already clocked his presence and NO doubt there would be some just waiting to grass him in for ditching. Like Vickumi over there. Yep. There the two of them were. Not even sitting next to each other, still trying to put on this act about how they weren't in cahoots. Yeah right! Well they didn't FOOL Elijah. He quickly took a seat in the pack, chucking his bag on top of the desk. Removing some parchment to doodle on. Even if he HAD to stay, it didn't mean he HAD to work. "Losers," he scoffed quietly under his breath. |
SPOILER!!: Magical Soul Nigel nodded along to what Louisa was saying. It looked like Nigel thought it was harder than it actually was. Which seems to happen to him more than he would like to admit. "Thanks, It just looked harder than it actually was at first." Once she finished her reading he tried to summarize what she was saying. It appeared that all you needed to do was pick four random stones and make a diamond out of them. Each position represents something. Well that sounded easy enough. He got out his rune pouch, untied it, asked the runes the most awesome question he could and picked the first of four random stones out of it. He hoped the stones he picked were good. Not that he believed in Divination. He just wanted good stones because they were good not bad. The first stones he chose was the fehu stone. "I got fehu first" Nigel said as he put it on the left most position. Next he reached in and picked out the second. "Second I got Jera" he put that stone opposite the first. Alrigtht only two left to go. He reached in again and picked the third stone which was Isa. "Next I got Isa" he put this one on th bottom most position and picked the last stone out of his pouch. "And last I got the same one you did in kenaz" He put it in the last remaining spot and brought out his textbook. Now both of them had to work on their interpretations before sharing. |
Post 2: Drawing the Runes Before pulling out the first rune, Alyssa read what a Diamond Spread Rune reading meant. Text Cut: Diamond Spread Rune Reading Trying to get a better understanding of what all that meant, Alyssa continued to turn the pages until she came upon a more simplistic meaning. Text Cut: The Runic Diamond Spread Now that she knew what this set of runes would represent for her, Alyssa resumed concentrating on her question again, mixed the runes around one more time before pulling out the first rune. SPOILER!!: Wunjo 'This doesn't sound too bad.'Alyssa thought to herself as she looked at what the meaning of Wunjo meant according to the Diamond Spread reading, as she placed it on the table at the top. Continuing to concentrate on her question, Alyssa placed her hand into the bag and mixed the rune blocks again before pulling out another one. This one was Perthro but it was reversed, and all Alyssa could remember was that anything reversed was not good. So she quickly looked in her textbook to see what it meant. SPOILER!!: Perthro reversed With a sigh, Alyssa placed it under the top rune to the right of it. She was beginning to think that she wasn't going to like this reading but continued to concentrate on the question she had posed as she dug into the bag again and brought out the third rune. This one was also reversed and it was the Rune Othala. Alyssa looked down at her textbook to see what this rune meant for her. SPOILER!!: Othala Reversed Alyssa shook her head. Part of the meaning sounded good while the other didn't But she decided that she would determine the full meaning of each rune once she had finished the drawing. So she place this rune at the bottom of the diamond. Now for the last rune. Alyssa stuck her hand into the bag, concentrated on her question before pulling out the fourth rune. At least this one wasn't another reversed rune. This one was Hagalaz. Alyssa was now afraid to look at what this rune meant but she looked into the textbook and read. SPOILER!!: Hagalaz Alyssa frowned as she read what it meant then placed the last rune to the left of the top rune. Now she had the diamond spread formed and now it was time for her to try to understand what the formation of runes meant for her and how they answered her question. source source2 |
Ready for the final runes lesson of the term, Gideon made his way down to the classroom, his sachel slung over his shoulder with his supplies. Entering the room, he found it somewhat different then it usually was, a air of mystery present in the setting within brought into it especially with the candles. The prefect was about to address the professor with a polite greeting when he noticed the man wasn't there. Oh well...he hasn't arrived yet. He made his way over to one of the tables, offering a friendly smile to Kurumi, Vickers and Sarah as he passed them to get there. It was only as Gideon took his seat and faced forward to see the board and the message upon it. Mystery partically solved for they knew Professor Jenkins wouldn't be around just not where. Oh well...they would just need to do things without the man's assistance, the sixth year, leaning down to retrieve his set from his bag so he could begin. |
Jory shook the bag containing the runes, concentrated on his question and dipped his hand into bag and pulled out the first rune. He couldn't help feeling a bit nervous. Ehwaz Quote:

This one sounded a bit promising to him as he reached into the bag to pull out the final rune. Berkano Quote:
"That's a bad one,'' Jory thought, his heart pounding a bit harder than usual. He picked up his quill and wrote the meaning down. |
readings come after this bcz this is long-ish enough >_< SPOILER!!: Tali! and LeeDood(ling) He paused for a moment to readjust his vision back to the darker side of the classroom. Just when he saw a vacant table he felt someone stumble and hit him from behind. He reached out into the air to keep himself from tipping over, then turned confused at what happened. Oh, it was a younger Hufflepuff "Its alright... are you ok?" he asked. Couldnt have been fun running into a goof like him. When he turned his attention back to the tables again he saw Elijah has taken up a seat. Oh pooh! He wanted that table. He turned back to the younger Puff and said "Are you looking for a table? There's a good one right over there." he said as he angled his head, then led the way towards where the Curly!Puff sat. "No bags on the tables Mr Wilde." Vickers feigned his best Professor!Jenkins voice as he grabbed Elijah's bag and unceremoniously dumped it on the floor. He then sat himself down and leaned his book bag neatly against his seat, then kindly nodded the younger Puff to join them. |
Post 3: Interpreting the Diamond Spread Now that Alyssa had all four runes drawn and had written down what they represented, she now had to interprete how they applied to her question. Considering her question, what a reversed Pertho meant really was accurate for her right now. She was totally stuck in a rut especially when it came to being in relationship. 'I can't even get a boy to hang out with me.' Right now she was more than willing to give up her current, 'lack of love' situation. She then looked at the next rune below it to see how her current situation. Looking at what a reversed Othala meant, she knew that she needed to take matters into her own hands. She realized that being in a relationship right now while she was still in school, was not as important than raising her class grades and concentrating on her OWLs next term. She still wasn't feeling like she belonged in Hogwarts, but she decided that she was going to fix that when she returned next term. Now that she knew what to do, Alyssa looked at the next Rune and believed that its meaning rang true for her too. Even though some things were beyond her control, especially when it came to matters of the heart, she knew that she had to be prepared to make some changes in her life. Things may not turn out the way she wanted to at first, and she had to be prepared for failures along the way. But she knew that she needed to be patient, instead of trying to rush things. She believed that once she did that, what she wanted for her future would eventually find its way to her. Right now, she just needed to find a balance between her personal life and her life here in Hogwarts. As for the last rune, Wunjo, Alyssa was glad to see that. Despite her current situation, she was still happy because she had her family whom she loved dearly and there was still some things happening here at Hogwarts that kept her happy and busy for the time being. As the rune also represented the wish card and happiness, Alyssa was confident that eventually, in the future, her luck would change, and that her greatest wish, which was the question she asked, would be fulfilled. With that thought in mind, Alyssa now felt more optimist and content. 'All good things come to those who wait.' Alyssa thought to herself. Once she had figured out what her Diamond Spread meant, Alyssa picked up her quill and wrote it all down on a parchment. |
post the reading next post got to go Nerida entered the classroom and noticed that the Professor would not be joining them. Oh well no one would be watching her fail at ancient runes. Create the diamond spread. What was the diamond spread. She took out her book from her bag and flipped it until she found stuff about the diamond spread. This spread is very useful for gaining insight into the properties of the present moment, and predicting their immediate outcome. Hmm okay, what should she do for the question. She could not think of any and none were coming to mind! Well there was one but she didn't know if she could use it. She would and if not she could easily do another reading. She laid out her runes and thought of her question. After picking out four runes. She looked up there meanings. |
SPOILER!!: Huff n' Claw Elijah had been drawing a rather unpleasant picture that may or may not have included Vickers and Kurumi being hit with enchanted sticks. The person enchanting the sticks... well, do I really need to tell you that? It was then that his bag was removed from the table sharply, and the extra deep voice and... "Ohh... I'm sorrry Professor... I was just..." it was then that he looked up and realised it was actually Vickers who seemed to be trying to scare him. He glared at the traitor. Well, at least he wasn't using tactics like pretending his HAND was going to be a stump for the rest of his days. He carefully folded the doodle he had been working on and pocketed it. It was then that he noticed the other girl. She was the one that had fallen out at the playground. "Nice to see you again... Nessie, was it?" he was sure it was, but if not: he flashed her his best smile in the hope that she would ignore his slight ignorance. "SO. How have you and Kurumi been lately?" he demanded of the 'Claw as he opened his textbook to the diamond reading thingie so it looked like he intended on doing work. With a potential grassbag Claw now sitting opposite him, he had to ensure he didn't give him any ammunition to go to Jenkins with to get him in trouble. "I hope your good at Ancient Runes because i'm useeelesss," he said, turning to the 'Puff and speaking to her in a much nicer tone, laughing as he did so. |
Text Cut: Vickers and Elijah..we see a bromance! :P Yep a table was sort of what she was heading to. This guy was so sweet and surely had manners, as he was worrying about it and all. She just gave him a nod and then attempted a smile. Twirling her bright red hair, in her right hand, as she walked, Renesmee followed this boy to a table that wasn’t completely empty. It was too dark though and she couldn’t see who was already seated. Meh…it didn’t really bother who it was anyways. She took her seat and then placed her bag on the floor beside her. OH EM GEE! No! It just couldn’t be. But it was. It was that silly, arrogant Elijah that she had met the other day, she could instantly tell from he’s voice. "And to you too." She said with just a small hint of sarcasm in her voice. As for the smile, she couldn’t help but return one back to him. Now Nessie was no eavesdropper, but she sort of was sitting right beside them. Kurumi he had said? What? The Hufflepuff raised her brow. "Kurumi has a boyfriend and he's not bad looking might I say." She said eyeing now both the boys sitting with her. As Elijah laughed, Ness just stared. What was so funny? This subject and school work was supposed to be serious. "I do alright in this subject, but I’m not too good, so don't depend on me, Mr Popular." she said the last bit in a squeakish voice and then rolled her eyes just a bit. She was being a little rude for her usual behaviour. "Er…I’m Nessie by the way." Just incase the claw hadn’t heard Elijah. "And..I think we should get started." she said now eyeing the black board. |
Post 4: Writing down the interpretation Once she had figured out what her Diamond Spread meant, Alyssa picked up her quill and wrote it all down on a parchment. Text Cut: Alyssa's Diamond Spread Interpretation Parchment Alyssa then wrote down her name, the House she belonged to and the Year she was in at the top of her parchment, before putting down her quill. She picked up the runes and returned them into its bag and placed them inside her backpack. Getting up from her seat, she packed up her things and placed them in her back pack too before walking over to the Professor's desk. Placing the parchment on the desk, she quietly left the classroom. She just hoped that no one else would read the parchment because all needed now was everybody to give her strange looks or start laughing behind her back. |
imma post what the reading is later, cant get to the site right now SPOILER!!: Elijah and Nessie "Oh good to meet you Nessie, I'm Vickers." he said as he offered a handshake to the younger Puff. He glanced at Elijah scribbling on his parchment, a curious look on his face... Was he copying down instructions on the board? Oh wait he was asking about "Kurumi? Uhm... we're fine?" Was there anything else but that? Puzzled, Vickers glanced one more time at the Curly!Puff before reaching in from his Runes pouch and dropping it on the table. He had just brought out his book and flipping through its pages for the chapter that discusses the diamond spread when Elijah said something about "Useless? You?..." he stifled a snort as he speaks to Nessie "No, Elijah is pretty smart...." smart aleck-y, but smart nonetheless "... I'm pretty sure Kurumi finds him smart." Cue hidden smirk. |
Text Cut: Nigel "No problem," Louisa offered a small smile and nodded her head. Then she turned her attention to watch Nigel put his stones down. He got two of the same stones as Louisa, she smiled at him and nodded once again. "Great job. Now let's focus on out personal interpretation of the runes and their positions, the interpretation must focus on one question you want to ask the runes..." That was what professor Jenkins meant by that note, right? Right. The boy seemed to already pay attention to his stones. Good. She liked the studious boy. Moving her gaze down at her textbook, the Ravenclaw started flipping through the pages for the first rune stone; Jera. Her finger traced down the paragraphs until she found the one talking about this rune. 'Plenty: Jera is the symbol of the harvest. A time of plenty. An annual event. A time to reap rewards from past efforts. A person of great patience, great promise and bountiful energy.' She moved on to the left side of the article where more explanation was given. 'The Facet of the Past: The rune in this position represents past events or situations that may have bearing on the current situation.' Louisa's brow furrowed at this piece of information before scribbling it down on her parchment. The next rune was Wunjo, she started searching in her textbook again until reaching the needed paragraph. 'Joy: comfort, pleasure and the joy of living. A fellowship with friends or family. Harmony and prosperity. Success comes through an understanding of what is truly important and valuing those things of real worth. Combined efforts.' Louisa's mouth twitched into a smile before she moved to the side, looking for the exact interpretation of the rune sitting in that particular position. 'The Facet of Tomorrow: The rune in this position represents the near future, and may give insight into forces affecting your next steps.' Hmm.. that sounded.. promising? She wrote it down too and moved on to the next rune. 'Justice, Leadership: Tiwaz represents the all judging sky. Analysis and rational thought are represented here. Legal matters may come to the fore, and issues of judgement and authority are referenced.' Louisa's smile was bigger than the one before, she liked leadership! And justice! But leadership more. She moved to the side where the position interpretation was suggested by the textbook, 'The Facet of Distraction: The rune in this position represents forces which may block your path, or prevent you from achieving your goals.' WHAT!? The girl blinked and frowned at those words, but she wrote them down nonetheless. Her personal explanation would come later... The last rune was Kenaz, she backtracked some pages until reaching the needed paragraph. 'Torches: Kenaz symbolizes energy and light. A fire of creation and power lights the way. Artistic energy is referenced, as well as human passion and lust. Some things shine brightly, making all surroundings clear. Good energy.' Nice. To the side where the position explanation was offered, 'The Facet of the Future: The rune in this last position represents forces or energies that give insight into the final outcome of the situation.' That seemed awfully familiar... Louisa scribbled it down on her parchment before moving the textbook away and leaning against the chair's back to focus on her personal analysis of this diamond spread reading. The question being: Is Isaac Carter coming for real? |
You two! Too lazy to quote. :P And my dare is in here. xD Vickers? Hmmm…odd name, yet in a good way. "It’s good to meet you too." She said as she extended her hand and accepted he’s handshake. Something felt odd though and having no idea what she was doing, the red head lifted her hand towards her mouth and began making a fart sounds pressing lips towards her hand. She was unaware of the noise she was making and so she continued happily. The two boys appeared to be busy with there conversation, and Nessie had barely bothered to join in, she was too busy with her farting noises. It was only when Vickers spoke to her that she stopped and realized what she was doing. Gosh! Embarrassing! No VERY embarrassing! She removed her hand away from her lips and then at once her cheeks began to redden. She looked down at the table not wanting to meet anyone’s eyes. "Um, I’m sorry about that." She said blushing madly. Problem was she didn’t exactly have an explanation to what had happened, she just did it well… because she just felt like it. It was a strange feeling. Trying to avoid anymore awkwardness, she bent down and then took out all the things she thought she would need for the lesson. Elijah smart? Hah! Now that was a funny joke. Renesmee couldn’t help herself as she began laughing madly in hysterics. Elijah seemed FAR from smart. Still she was a little nice and decided it was best not to comment too rudely. "I bet Kurumi is smarter than him though." Nod! Out of nowhere the trance hit her again, and so she lifted her hand to her lips and began making farting sounds again. Instead of this what Nessie should have been doing would have been to start her work, she was distracted though and she was unaware of anything around her. |
My dare is in here, too, in the best way I could. SPOILER!!: Vee and Nessie "Wait, what did you just say?" Elijah turned to the Hufflepuff girl. Had she just said Kurumi had a boyfriend? His eyes wandered in the direction of the Gryffindor Prefect and then to Vickers. So, they actually were going, like, OUT-OUT. Why had Elijah been so blind. A funny feeling came over his stomach and then he hiccuped. Quack. Whilst everything about Elijah was attractive, there was one slight problem that he had to face. Anytime he got the hiccups, for some reason it almost sounded like a duck. It was much to the amusement of others, of course, but Elijah didn't take to kindly to being mocked. Perhaps the sheer shock of the realisation that Vickers and Kurumi were a couple now had forced him into the damn hiccups. "So, you both ARE officially a couple now then, eh? How jolly good for you both," Elijah -quack- said sarcastically to his EX-Claw-friend. Oh, and was this Hufflepuff shamelessly calling Vickers attractive right in front of the boy's face? Ballsy. Especially considering Elijah was also present and he was clearly the most attractive of the two. He couldn't tell if Vickers was being sarcastic when he began telling Nessie that he was smart and then he made that DIG about 'oOoOoO Kurumi will find him smart'. Was Vickers always so callous and evil? He decided not to rise to the challenge and ignored the 'Claw. Quack It was then that the Nessie girl made her OWN dig. Was this another lesson where Elijah was going to have to endure more bullying? Perhaps Kurumi would be sauntering over any second now, telling him how DUMB he actually was. The cheek of the girl to be making digs anyway when she was sitting there farting in his presence! Not even Elijah farted in public and he was a boy, so it was socially acceptable to do so if he felt so inclined. But, farting was not attractive. "Can anyone else smell that?" Elijah asked the class. Quack. "I think someone has just farted. Was that you Nessie?" There. That should embarrass Nessie at least, now he just had to work out a way to get back at Vickers. "What are the readings we are supposed to be doing, again?" Elijah asked, pretending to look over his textbook. Quack |
SPOILER!!: Magical Soul Nigel agreed with Louisa that now they had to focus on their interpretations before sharing them with each other. "Okay, sounds like a plan" Nigel said before he saw he go do her interpretations. Now Nigel had some hard work to do. He remembered his question and hoped it would be a yes because then he would be awesome and one step closer to becoming Batman. He opened up his textbook and started to look for the first rune he got which was fehu. It seems like in his question was being answer because fehu was the symbol of of wealth, posessions won or earned through personal action or pure luck. It means that Wealth and success will soon arrive. Nigel liked this rune, he thought as he wrote down this information on his parchment. His next rune was Jera. Jera is the symbol of the harvest. Which could mean that Nigel was looking at a time in which he would have plenty of money. It was also a time to reap rewards. He scribbled down the meaning to this rune. While scribbling Nigel was beginning to really like this reading do far. Nigel really did like rewards. Even if they did come from hard work. Next was Isa. It represents the stillness and purity of ice. Nigel was not understanding this one so he looked more into it and read how to interpret. It looks like it means that Nigel will have a time to rest and meditate before some type of action occurs. Nigel jot down the meaning to this rune. Nigel had no idea what type of action but he did like to rest. Okay, the last rune is Kenaz and it symbolizes energy and light. It seems that this rune in the last position represents forces or energies that give insight into the final outcome of the situation. So Nigel needed to mediate and then gain insight to this situation or action. Nigel did not know what the last to runes had to do with his question of will he have a billion dollars in the future. But he wrote down this meaning too. Now he had to really think about what these interpretation had to do with his question. Will he have a billion dollars in the future? He looked back and saw he kind of answered his question in his notes. But now he just had to share it with his partner Louisa. |
SPOILER!!: Kurumi<33 Alright. It was good that the elder lioness wasn't annoyed by Tiffany's clinging and shivering and all those kinds of things. So now it's time to move on her own runes' reading by using the...something called dia-diamond spread. Maybe she should ask something considering about her future which would be the most suitable question and the easiest one to think of right now. Probably the professor won't be interested in it but then it has always been the kind of simple question that no one else could doubted. Taking our the first rune, Tiffany put it on the top of the diamond spread and opened her book for the meanings of the runes. SPOILER!!: Fehu The lioness smiled as she read the first rune coming out. It was a good start after all. Picking out the second rune, she took a small glimpse of her book once again. SPOILER!!: Ansuz They were all positive in meaning, good future, success. Good. SPOILER!!: Sowilo Tiffany raised her eyebrows as she read the meaning of the third runes that she picked out. Times of trouble. So did it mean that it would be hard for her to gain knowledge or something? SPOILER!!: Kenaz And the last rune that she picked was Kenaz. Tiffany glanced over the whole spread of hers, still not quite understand the meaning of the third one and last one. It was simple that the first two ones symbolized good future but what about the third one? Was she going to endure some obstacles before she could get that good future? She peeked at Kurumi's spread and read the meanings of them all secretly by looking up in her book. So what kind of question did the elder lion ask? "You have lost someone in your life but then you get a new one after that?"she asked, raising her voice. There was something in her mind now, about the question Kurumi had asked. |
we HEAR you Elijah, Nessie, & Vickers <333 Kurumi wasn't really aware of anything else that was going around her, like people only the next table over saying her name, so she wasn't really paying attention to Tiffany and her reading at the moment being far to focused on her own. Okay, so her first rune, Kenaz, was in the position of the Facet of the Past...which meant past events, feeling, and situations that are holding merit and influence over her current situation. After looking over the meaning of Kenaz again, Kurumi cocked her head to the side feeling a little confused. It seemed like a positive rune meaning, but her question had been anything but positive unless the emphasis was on how she was feeling. Her cheeks flushed a bit when her violet eyes fell on the words human passion and lust, which didn't seem all that related...not in the traditional sense of the word. However, if she were to look at this abstractly and not literally, they there was truth here. The very reason she had asked the runes what she had was because she had a desire to maintain a connection, and a fierce one. Moving along to the second rune, the Facet of Tomorrow, Kurumi reread the meaning for inverted Wunjo and shivered. Loss of identity or an alienation of a close companion...all that was exactly on par with how she felt about all this. Or more so how she had felt in the past and those feelings still weighed her down a lot and were certainly effecting her decisions and somewhat clouding her mind in regards to what step to take next. So was this a warning? Telling her that she needed to put those feelings aside? Easier said than done... For the Facet of Distraction Kurumi had drawn Berkano and after reading the description it was obvious as to what it implied. New love. Kurumi hated thinking that something as incredible as that, what she now had with Lewis, was something that was 'blocking her path.' If anything it felt liberating and made her feel more complete. So she was going to have to think this one over a bit more. Perhaps connect it to the next rune to really figure things out. Finally, Kurumi had drawn an inverted Perthro for the rune representing the Facet of the Future...and it really wasn't giving her much hope. False knowledge...consume too heavily...irresponsible... all those words pointed towards something bad and signaled to her that she should just give up. Stop trying. Stop hoping. However, something in her mind clicked with the false knowledge. Perhaps one could understand those words as being false assumptions seeing as someone who believe so strongly in theirs would consider them knowledge. So maybe she shouldn't give up. Maybe what this meant was that if she kept going, kept fighting as it were, those assumptions would be revealed and then they could... Quote:
Before she could continue though, Kurumi sneezed suddenly and she wiped her nose with the sleeve of her robe. As she did, her violet eyes caught Elijah's profile and her gaze continued around his table where she saw Nessie and Vickers and...wait...were they talking about her? Did they need help with their rune readings or something? Kurumi knew Elijah wasn't too knowledgeable with the subject, but Vickers was...which is why she sort of just stared for a moment in confusion. Realizing that she was staring, the color rose in her cheeks and she sort of waved in their general direction before turning her attention back to her own parchment. Right...she should probably start writing her thoughts down now. |
Question and pulling the runes After figuring out what exactly a Diamond Spread was, Ella closed her eyes and though about what questions she wanted to ask. She didn't speak it out loud but she thought hard about it, wanting her mind completely focused so her runes could like...connect with the question or something. Eh. It seemed legit. Right...the question. Will my mother ever return from...where ever she went to when she left us? Yeah. She really wanted to know that. Even if it hurt. Having decided on a question, Ella picked up her bag, ready to remove her runes. Right. The first rune she removed from the bag was Algiz. This was the rune of protection, yeah? It also has to do with defending something. There was also something about a connection to divine but also...a separation of the divine and man. Huh. Well okay, then. The next rune that was pulled from the bag was Gebo. This was representative of a gift. Something about exchanging something with someone else. It also had a relation to relationships...O__O Wow. That was freaky. The third rune Ella pulled was Sowilo. This is the sun rune! Hey! Ella liked this one. It represents all kinds of good stuff. Like energy...and *reads* guidance. All this was good, right? So maybe things would be good after all? Ella probably had to wait to see what her other runes meant in relation to this one though. The final rune that was pulled was Tiwaz. This was the rune about judgement...Something about analysis and thought. Hm...Ella wondered if this was a good thing or not. She'd have to write everything down to figure it out for sure. Now she was really curious, though. Pulling a blank piece of parchment towards her, Ella started writing down her interpretation of what the rune spread meant for her question. |
lmao dyiiiing XD... and trying to start something Runes related XD SPOILER!!: Fart'n Quack'n Ok he heard something.... but Vickers was raised with too much manners to ever point it out, most specially if it was a girl. He reached out for his Runes pouch and had just lay it on the table when Elijah said something that nearly made his jaw fall out of its hinges. "W-Whaaaat??? K-Kurumi and m-m-me?..." terrified blue eyes darts towards the Gryffindor Prefect just as Nessie mentions her boyfriend. "Yeah Kurumi has a boyf--" the starts then pauses as his sight returns on the Curly!Puff again. That look and the sound of that voice. "Wait... I'm not Kurumi's boyfriend...." guh he wished. Sighs for life. "Kurumi's boyfriend is YOUR Prefect-- Lewis Rasting." So stop looking at him like he was Quirrel or something. He was no Ravvie traitor to the brotherhood yo. And just when he though he could clear his mind for a reading he heard another sound-- this time from Elijah. His eyes shifted back to the Curly!Puff. Did he just quack? Was there some kind of subtle message to that? Then he heard Nessie tootin again. Eyes shift to the Ginger!Puff. Oh another quacking. Eyes back to the Curly!Puff. Tootin and quackin, quackin and tootin.... was this some kind of Hufflepuff ritual prior to making a Runes reading? No he's not making a sound other than "Lets stop this Kurumi talk and focus on the diamond spread ok?" Yes thats the reading their supposed to do. Trying to desperately clear his mind (which is really hard now at this point), he reaches in and randomly pulls out one rune at a time until he has formed the diamond spread. "Alright, I start with the first rune at the bottom which is.... inverted." he whispered, suddenly crestfallen. Inverted runes were never a good thing to him. He flipped through his book to find out what it meant.... |
the link actually works this time so heres the reading! Nerida thought it was about time that she did the reading. But what should her question be? After thinking and thinking Nerida decided on her question. Concentrating on her question, Will my mother's cancer go away? It was a true question she wanted to know maybe she should have asked if her mom would die. Nope she did not want to know that answer! Nerida picked up her bag, ready to pull out some runes. Right. The first rune she removed from the bag was Berkano. The birch tree? Shrugging she flipped open her book and looked for the meaning of berkano. After finding it she wrote it down onto her parchment. SPOILER!!: Berkano She stopped for a second as she heard quacking sounds. "Erm does anyone else hear a duck?" Shaking her head she refocused on her question and reached in and pulled out the rune....Dagaz! Dagaz represented day or dawn, right? SPOILER!!: Dagaz Onwards to the third rune. Once again the third year reached into the bag and pulled out a rune. The third rune was Jera. Erm that represented a year? She didn't know. Flipping through her book she found the meaning and wrote it down under Dagaz's meaning. SPOILER!!: Jera Now for the fourth and final rune. The Ravenclaw reached into the bag and concentrated hard on her question. Pulling her hand out she revealed the rune to be...Sowilo. That represented the sun. SPOILER!!: Sowilo Looking up from her diamond spread she wondered if someone was there she could share her interpretation with after she was done. Seeing Ella she picked up her stuff and walked over to her. "Hey Ella, do you want to share interpretations after were done? |
Jory now started his interpretation of the runes. He was fascinated by the meaning of the runes ad how they would fit into his life. As for the question, he wasn’t interested in his love life right now but he was curious. SPOILER!!: Interpretations “Interesting,’’ Jory thought as he packed up his stuff. He got up from his seat, placed the interpretations on the Professor’s desk and left the room heading in the direction of his Common room |
Vickers and Elijah. xD And Kurumi too! ^_^ Too distracted with making farting sounds, Renesmee hadn’t realized how shocked Elijah was about Kurumi having a boyfriend. Good thing Vickers knew about the latest gossip and knew what to say. The young Dixon on the other hand hadn’t even noticed the two were speaking at all until Elijah started ..well making an odd noise. Wait…quaking? Was he really quaking? Ness moved her hand away from her mouth and stopped making noises for just a few seconds. She raised her brow at Elijah and then giggled at him. He sounded like a duck begging for some bread or begging to be send to the duck pond with the rest of he’s family. Before the Hufflepuff could comment, Elijah had something first… How blooming rude! Was all Nessie could think as Mr. Popular asked her if she had farted. How dare he! Did it smell like she had farted? No! It didn’t stink according to Ness at all. Everything smelt perfectly normal. "No it was not." She said rolling her eyes at him. "Is there a duck in this classroom, or is that you?" she asked as her comeback. She wanted to say more, but Vickers words had distracted her. Right! They were in a classroom for a reason and that was to work not fool around. "I think that’s a good idea." She said as she nodded at him and put her hand to her mouth as she began with the farting noises again. Nobody had said she couldn’t make noises whilst working right? And if they had a problem with it, they could just say something, couldn’t they. Yes they could, so no need to be all worried for nothing. Taking the pouch, Ness picked out four runes and placed them just like Vickers had done with he’s. Of course she had different runes though and of course she had, had a different question in mind whilst picking her runes. She had chosen her question based on her relationship with her best friend, Thomas. She wanted to know where it was going. Her first was one that looked a bit like an ‘F’ and if she remembered correctly it was called something asuz..no ansuz. Yes that was it! She looked up as Vickers said something about inverted. Those usually weren’t too good. Poor boy! Anyways, she didn’t want to bother him, she was too busy making noises. So instead she went onto reading about her first rune, which was supposed to tell her something about the past… Text Cut: Ansuz |
heeeeeeeello Vickers/Nessie/Elijah :3 Quill to her parchment, Kurumi began to write down her thoughts on her rune reading, but was finding it hard to keep her focus. What did this mean? Was she being given a good sign or a bad sign? It was so vague and depending on how you chose to look at the different signs. On the one hand it seemed as though what her gut and heart were telling her to do was right, that she should keep trying because there was still something there and that he felt it too. Maybe even he wanted it. There were just misunderstandings getting in the way. On the other hand...the runes also seemed to be telling her that it was time to stop. Just like Lewis had said a few months ago. And she had, but with the term coming to a close...those fears and feelings had resurfaced. Maybe she shou--- Wait? Was someone saying her name? No, wait, three someones? Turning her head around slightly, Kurumi spotted Vickers, Elijah, and Nessie sitting at the same table and undeniably saying her name. Hmm? Maybe they needed help with their runes? Elijah had come to her before for help, so he was probably just telling all of them about that and suggesting they ask her? It seemed plausible at least. Leaving Tiffany to her own work for now, Kurumi got up out of her seat and walked over to the trio and stood in between Vickers and Elijah. "Did you guys need me?" she asked, glancing around the table at each of them. Which is why her eyes couldn't help but wander to the runes there and notice that Vickers had an inverted Thurisaz or Wunjo. She had a hard time telling the two apart. "Well, if that one is Thurisaz," Kurumi whispered mostly to Vickers since it was his own reading. "I mean there in the Facet of Distraction position, the meaning isn't too different from when it isn't inverted. Just means that you need to listen to the warning or message the other runes are telling you." And that whatever good luck he may be having was coming to an end, but Vickers didn't look like he needed to hear that right now. |
y'all know who you are XD Flipping through his text book, Vickers finally found the chapter on the Wunjo rune. Just then he felt and heard that familiar voice right beside him. Oh no.... Instinctively he wanted to use his book to cover his runes spread but it was too late. Kurumi has already seen it "H-Hi Kurumi..." Need her? Errr define need "...uhm, we're just doing our Runes reading...and yeah its a Wunjo rune, inverted. And its the bottom rune so it represents the basis of the issue." He actually had a question in his mind when he started to do the Runes spread, but with all the distractions he had wondered if the reading was revealing what was truly bothering him... He glanced down at the chapter definition for Wunjo... SPOILER!!: Wunjo meaning Ok that wasnt particularly very encouraging. And it has brought to light something he was hoping to keep away from most people at school-- most specially Kurumi and Elijah. Or maybe thats why he liked hanging around them. They were "the joy". "So it says I'm feeling miserable... what else is new really..." he frowned and shrugged it off. Emotions werent something he paid attention to much, being the cerebral guy that he is. "Ok the rune on the left is the Dagez rune... and its in the position of forces acting on the issue..." he said as he started to flip the pages back for the Dagez rune... |
my interpretations - sorry if they don't make sense, hates firewall... Quote:

Interpretation and Nerida too! SPOILER!!: Nerida! The second year was scribbling notes on to her parchment when she heard foot steps approaching. She looked up from her work and smiled as she saw her friend Nerida standing there. "Hi Nerida!" She greeted with a smile. "Yeah, sure. I'm working on those now so it might be a few minutes but you can sit here and work on yours while you wait." And she'd join her, yeah? Focusing again on her parchment, Ella began to decipher what her Diamond rune spread meant for her. SPOILER!!: Written Interpretation Setting down her quill, Ella looked away from her parchment and blinked back several tears. There was no way she was crying in here. No way. Instead she focused on her friend. "Nerida, I'm done with mine so we can share whenever you're ready." |
Interpretation and Ella Quote:
Picking up her quill Nerida began to interpret her diamond spread. SPOILER!!: Interpretation Hearing Ella's voice pulled Nerida out of her writing, luckily though she had just finished. Setting down her quill she looked up at her friend, seeing her fight back several tears. She wouldn't ask since it looked like she didn't want to talk about it or let anyone see it. Smiling Nerida responded "Yeah, I just finished. I hope I did okay I am never good with interpretations. |
She's being quiet, but you know who you are. xD Huh? Who was speaking? Renesmee was too busy looking through her textbook, to notice that Kurumi had walked over to their table. Which was why when the Gryffindor prefect spoke, Ness became very confused. At first she thought it was Vickers speaking, but it made no sense for him to sound so girly. Eventually, Ness looked up to see Kurumi standing right before them. Oh gosh! She hadn't heard the gosspi they were talking about earlier, had she? Nessie hoped not, cause that would have been bad. Greeting Kurumi with a nod, Ness went back to her work. She was too afraid to actually speak in case something from the conversation before blurted out her mouth. It was better she focused on her runes anyways. The read head scribbled down some notes from her previous rune and moved onto the next one, that was parrallel to her first. Sowilo? ...That was a good one wasn't it? And wasn't it one that couldn't even be inverted? That's all Ness could remember of it. Turning to the right page, Renesmee read on through her book, only stopping once to eaves drop a little at Kurumi and Vickers. She could barely contain herself and she ended up letting a giggle escape her lips. It was humerous, because from what Ness gathered it seemed to her that Vickers liked Kurumi and not just as a friend. She could also see it in the way he spoke to her. It was like somebody hit him with a block of shyness. He was all shy and stuttering it was veru obvious. Not wanting to make her giggling too observable, the fourth year read on further. Text Cut: Sowilo More notes were then written, and afterwards Ness looked up just for a small pause. She giggled at Kurumi and Vickers again, and then turned to her third rune. Uruz and inverted. Mehh..this wasn't going to be good. This was going to be what might stop her from reaching her goals. With a small cringe, the red head read over the meaning in her text book frowning as she got to the end. Text Cut: Uruz Text Cut: ehwaz Text Cut: Nessie's parchment |
sorry for the delay D: Text Cut: Nigel Louisa took only ten to twelve minutes to personalize her rune reading and tweak the runes explanation to serve her question. Once she was done writing on her parchment, the Ravenclaw lifted her head to see whether Nigel had worked his own diamond spread out yet or not. The scatter of rune stones in front of the boy indicated that he was doing perfectly fine. "You done?" she asked him, without really waiting for an answer Louisa went on, "I'm done. Here.." she clasped her hands together and gazed down at her stones, "I've asked them whether or not Isaac Carter is coming this summer for real." Louisa pointed at the first rune she got, "First is Jera, represents past events that may have bearing on the current situation. Isaac is part of my past, he's a very solid part of my past actually that keeps coming up even though I've never met him." And no, she hasn't said who exactly was this man. "Then comes Wunjo, represents the near future which I'd like to think is this upcoming summer." Her mouth twitching into a subtle smile as she went on, "Next is Tiwaz, represents forces which may block my path, or prevent me from achieving my goals." The subtle smile was quickly erased off her face, "This could only mean that meeting Isaac Carter won't be that easy... unless I overcome those forces." Her mom would be the first force, heh. "Lastly Kenaz represents forces or energies that give insight into the final outcome of the situation, and it generally symbolizes good energy, light and creation. So..." her head was tilted slightly to the side thoughtfully, "So my meeting Isaac Carter might actually be good and very.. promising." Finally the Prefect raised her gaze to look into the other Ravenclaw's. Yep, so she was meeting Isaac Carter this summer, after a tough struggle and then get something good out of this meeting. "What did you get?" It was Nigel's turn. |
Sharing interpretation with Nerida SPOILER!!: Nerida Ella smiled, happy she hadn't interrupted Nerida and that her friend was ready to share. Truthfully, she just wanted to get this over with. Besides, maybe Nerida could see things differently and offer Ella some advice on the situation or whatever. "I'm sure you did well, Nerida." The badger offered with a reassuring smile. "I'll share first, okay?" It would give Nerida a bit of a break since she had only just finished her work. "So my question was about...whether or not my mom was ever going to come back...from where ever it is she disappeared to." And Ella looked down at her work, not wanting to look Nerida in the eyes at the moment. She was actually a bit embarrassed at having a mom that would do something like that. "The rune in the spot representing the past was Algiz. I took this to mean that my mom, no longer wanting to act as protector, up and left..." Shrug. It was the truth. "Next was Gebo in the Facet of Tomorrow spot. Gebo has to do with gifts and relationships and I think it has to do with the give and take between my mom and I and how if we don't work on that, I'll continue to experience the loneliness of not having her around." Which would be...awful, if she was being honest with herself. "Then was Sowilo in the distraction spot...which I think means if my mom continues to have success with her photography that she'll get preoccupied and forget all about us..." Frown. Because her mom had ultimately left to pursue her own dreams so if they went well, she would probably stay gone. "And lastly, Tiwaz was in the future spot. I guess I think this means that my mom needs to be able to rationally think about what she's done in order for her to return..." And another shrug from the second year. "I hope that made sense." She added, looking up from her parchment finally and giving Nerida a small smile. "Your turn." |
Join if you want? :) Alex was actually starting to grow fond of Ancient Runes. Despite the fact that the professor often made him do things that reminded him a lot of voodoo practices, it was cool trying to translate the runes and discover their meanings and whatnot. He happily strolled in to the classroom and went to the board to read the message left by the professor. At least he hadn't left them alone in a Charms classroom or something...he didn't trust many of his peers to control themselves in that class, but thankfully Runes required very little wandwork. Heading over to a nearby table, he began to unpack his things, whistling happily to himself. |
SPOILER!!: Magical Soul Nigel did not know whether Louisa would think his question was a joke or just a stupid question. But it was his turn to do the reading. Okay he could do this. "Yeah I'm done". Nigel said dreading having to do his reading now "Okay, my question was. Will I have a billion dollars in the future?" He pointed at his first rune. "My first rune is fehu. It the symbol of of wealth, posessions won or earned through personal action or pure luck. So it could mean that i will get lucky and get some personal wealth." Nigel still did not know how much money though. "Next is Jera. The symbol of the harvest. It says it is a time to reap rewards from past efforts. So I have to stay patient and maybe i will be rewarded" Nigel was getting more confused with this reading. "Third was Isa. It represents ice and the stillness of a frozen day. This means that I will have to have a time to mediate and think if this is what i really want to achieve in the future." That one at least made sense to Nigel. Okay only one more to go. "Last is Kenaz. and like you said it represents forces or energies that give insight into the final outcome of the situation. But i got it inverted. So it means lack of creativity or originality. Which is true this question is not at all original." Nigel still did not know if he will get a billion in the future. But the reading was good to him and confusing. |
Sorry guys!!! <333 SPOILER!!: Vee "Wait... your not?" Elijah seemed surprised. He had been so sure that his suspicions were correct and Vickers then went on to explain to him that Kurumi's actual boyfriend happened to be his Prefect. "She is going out with THAT tosser?" Such disbelief. No wonder she was constantly flirting with him, when she had to go out with him. Elijah had only had a brief encounter with the boy in the past, but it didn't leave him at all seeking out the Hufflepuff's company. Elijah watched on in silence, still shocked about this new revelation, as Vickers pulled four random runes and placed them in some sort of shape. Perhaps this was the diamond part of the diamond spread? He nodded his head as Vickers took it upon himself to pick one of the runes to research. "Ummm... good shout, Vee. I'll just um... draw the runes on a piece of parchment for us," he offered, not wanting to go anywhere near a textbook. SPOILER!!: Nessie As he began drawing the first rune, he watched as Nessie started picking out her own runes. Wait, they had to do this individually!? No thanks. He would stick with sharing Vickers' runes. They looked completely fine to him. Yep. SPOILER!!: Kurumi It was at that moment that Kurumi appeared, wondering if they needed her? Oh crap, she must've heard them talking about her... oops! If she had heard any of their conversation, however, she didn't make mention of it. Instead, she began helping Vickers translate THEIR runes. "Precisely, Kurumi, I had been JUST about to explain that to Vee, here. He struggles so much with those... um... inverted ones." That sounded smart, right? SPOILER!!: Vee Vickers began reading out the meaning of the Rune and it just so happened to say that he was miserable. AWWWW. "Vee? You're miserable?" Elijah said with genuine concern. He got up from his chair, giving up drawing the runes now, and went to the 'Claw and gave him a NICE BIG BEAR HUG. "My hugs ALWAYS make people feel better," he explained as he squeezed his friend, "They're magical." "What question have you asked OUR runes, anywayz?" |

Oh that was sad...Why would a mom leave her daughter, hopefully her runes helped her a bit. She felt bad her her but there was nothing she could be but say she was sorry but Nerida cold feel that she was embarrassed so she would keep quiet until afterwards. Algiz, protection. Gebo, gifts or relationships. Sowlio, energy, guidance, and sometimes success. Tiwaz, judging or analysis. "For Algiz, I agree with you it could be that your mother may not have wanted to act as a protector any more but it could also could mean that your mother didn't know how or she couldn't be a protector. She hoped that made sense because in her mind it had but she didn't know how it sounded out loud. "I think your interpretation of Gebo and Sowlio are good, nothing to add to those two. For tiwaz I agree with your interpretation your mother has to see what she has done before she comes back to you. Nerida smiled Ella had done a great job in her interpretation but would Nerida do a good job as well. "It made sense." Now for Nerida's turn. "I am sorry if this doesn't make sense I am horrid at interpretations. Picking up her parchment she took a quick breath. "The question that I asked was, will my mother's cancer go away?" She didn't know if that was the best question to ask the runes didn't it depend on her mum? "The first rune was placed in The Facet of the Past was Berkano. Berkano has to deal with the beginning of a new life. So I thought it could mean when my mum's life began or when one of her children were born." Like Nerida had said she was bad with interpretations. "The next rune, Dagaz was placed in the Facet of Tomorrow. Dagaz has to do with awakening. So I thought this could mean that there might be some issues of my mum's cancer that becomes more aware or that her cancer has gotten more complex. Which would be really bad! "The third rune Jera was placed into the Facet of Distraction. I could not really interpret a distraction out of Jera so I just interpreted it as normal...I thought maybe a distraction would give my mother the final motivation to 'finish' off the cancer so to speak." Did that sound weird..."The final rune was Sowilo placed in the Facet of the Future. Sowilo has to do with energy and success. But it also references health issues and healing. I thought this could mean that my mother will get better and have a successful recovery." |
all of you <33 but mostly going back to the table to finish our reading XD Glancing back and forth between Elijah and Vickers for a moment, Kurumi wasn't too sure if she was or wasn't needed...but the boys seemed to have things under control as it were. Well, as under control as anything with Elijah could be that is. However, what Vickers mumbled under his breath made the Gryffindor frown. He was a friend, a very important friend, and she didn't like his tone nor the expression that had flashed across his face and was still there in his piercing eyes. Leaning over a bit more so that she could whisper to him, Kurumi glanced at the runes on the table again and chew on her lower lip fiercely for a moment. "You know...you can talk to me if you ever need to," she said, her gaze landing on his so he knew she was being serious. Vickers was a friend that she knew she could open up to, and she sincerely hoped that he knew and felt that he could do the same with her. Standing up again, Kurumi shook her head at Nessie for a moment. "Not to worry, Nessie. I think I have distracted you all from doing your work as it is." So at least the younger Hufflepuff was able to get something done. Flashing a smile at Elijah, Kurumi took a small step back. "Since you seem to have a handle on things...I'll just leave you all to it. I'll be over there if you need me though." Just in case that is. Walking back to her table, Kurumi sat back down and folded her legs underneath her and returned her gaze to her diamond spread. Right, she still had interpretations to write and turn in. Flattening a piece of parchment on the table, Kurumi dipped her quill in the ink well and set it to the parchment to begin writing things down. SPOILER!!: Kurumi's parchment Chewing on her lip nervously, Kurumi read over her parchment again and couldn't help but blush. She hated turning in such a personal assessment to a professor...but it was too late to change her mind now. Kurumi put all her runes back in the small black velvet bag and then everything back in her bag which she then slung over her shoulder. Rising, Kurumi picked up her parchment and set it neatly on top of the ones already on Professor Jenkins' desk and then began to make her way out of the classroom - flashing a quick smile and a wave to Vickers, Elijah, Nessie, and Tiffany as she did. |
SPOILER!!: Nerida Ella listened as her friend offered comments about her interpretation, happy for the input. She nodded when Nerida suggested perhaps her mom didn't know HOW to be a protector. "Yeah, y'know I guess that could be true too." When her friend had finished commenting, Ella smiled. "It did? I'm glad. I erm...well sometimes this rune stuff can be a little confusing so I'm glad my reading wasn't rubbish." Oh and one more thing was needed, yeah? "Thanks for the feedback." Now it was Ella's turn to listen and she frowned when she learned what Nerida's question was. Her mom...was really sick? That was quite sad. As Nerida continued on offering her interpretation, Ells did her best to comment and hope that what she added made sense. "I think that you could be right about Berkano, though it could also be that the 'new life' bit means the beginning of her illness." Did that sound like it could be true? Maybe. As for the Dagaz part, Ella really hoped Nerida wasn't right about her mother's cancer getting worse. That would be awful. "The Dagaz part, well I guess it probably does have something to do with your mom's illness but it might not be a bad thing, necessarily." She hoped she was reassuring the girl, really she did. Okay...and Jera was next for Nerida. "I know I read Jera couldn't be reversed...but maybe the obstacle for your mom will be the repetition of fighting...Not that she won't fight, just that she might be tired. Maybe it just means the people who love her should give her extra encouragement?" Ella hoped she wasn't being insensitive. She just really wanted to help Nerida with her reading by speaking truthfully. The second year BEAMED at the last part of the reading. "You're Sowilo interpretation sounds perfect...which I'm really happy about, by the way! I hope that she does get better. Honest." And the second year smiled, nodding her head. "Good job with the reading." |
Laura wasn't really sure why she had come here, it wasn't like this was her best subject and she wanted to know what was important to learn about things that were ruined, seriously if they were ruined they should be left alone, why bother trying to fix something that was ruined, Laura didn't quite understand that, now though she had to work on her ruines, but did she have to destory something to make it a runes or did she had to find something that was ruined? that was the hard part to all this once she had done that she was sure she could do the rest. |

"Yes thats where I got all confused. So the distraction could be shes tired and she feels like she wants to give up but feels like she will disappoint us and to ? It made sense but she don't know if she had worded it right. The Ravenclaw smiled her Sowilo interpretation sounded perfect. Yes she was really glad about that. "Thanks. Me too. I can't want to see her when I get home. She was happy that she had gotten some of the reading right. The third year smiled back at Ella and complimented her "You did good too! Thanks for helping me with my interpretation." After thinking about what Ella said Nerida decided to rewrite the Jera interpertation so it made more sense. After rewriting that section she held up the paper to Ella and asked "Hey does this sound good for the Jera interpretation? SPOILER!!: Revised Interpretation |
dunno when thread closes, so imma squeeze in all the readings on this post ;) One minute he was very busily flipping through the textbook-- his defense reaction about his emotional issues-- the next he was squished in a Curly!Puff hug... :whut: Awkwardly Vickers pat-patted Elijah's arm When Elijah released him he finally caught the Hufflepuff's other statement. "Our runes spread?" He eyed the diamond spread before them. " You sure you want to share in something that miserable?" he gave a small shrug with his shoulder. He didnt mind sharing, but he was fully convinced that Elijah's rune spread would be all about fame, fortune and fantastic females. Very far removed from his own. Right, back to the reading. He finally manages to find the chapter about the Dagaz rune... SPOILER!!: Dagaz definition Again he furrowed his brows. That didnt sound too bad "So its symbolic of change-- rapid change...." what with the comparisons to day and night "-- and the New Day can also mean rapid illumination of dismal circumstances, and with its position on the left it means its a force acting on an issue-- which was Wunjo." so his misery is.... about to change? Obviously puzzled, Vickers focused his attention on the Rune on the right. "Lets look at the Kenaz rune on the right, because that also influences the rune of current situations..." He turned a few more pages and found the chapter for Kenaz SPOILER!!: Kenaz definition He straightened up in his seat. "So the forces of change..." he eyes the left Dagaz rune "... and illumination..." eyes the Kenaz rune "... will act on my current situation of unhappiness?" That didnt sound so bad. Then he eyes the last rune on top "That Algiz rune on top is supposed to represent the conclusion to all this..." More chapter searching revealed this... SPOILER!!: Algiz definition "So... after the change and illumination that acts on my current misery I should learn to protect myself....? That sounded a whole lot like common sense. He didnt need runes to tell him that. In many respects his defensive |
SPOILER!!: Nerida Ella smiled, nodding her head. "Yeah, I mean you never know. They have people working on that kind of thing all the time." Though Ella didn't want to get her friend's hopes up too much. She was all for being optimistic but it was such a serious illness. The second year sincerely hoped everything worked out. The badger nodded with a shrug. "Yeah, I think that could be a possible distraction..." Ella imagined it would be easy to grow tired when you've been fighting so hard for something. "...but that doesn't mean she won't overcome it, yeah?" She added reassuringly with a smile. "Yeah, I can imagine. I can't wait to see my dad, gran, and brother when I get home. I really miss them." And she smiled, thinking it would be really brilliant to spend time with them. "You're welcome! And thanks! I think both our interpretations are good." BEAM. Then Ella reread Nerida's interpretation for Jera and smiled. "Yeah, that sounds great." |
Post #1: For Kerri/Dylan Ugh. Ancient Runes. This class should be against the law. Really, it should. Speaking of what should happen, Sierra should really get started on this assignment. She approached a table and then reread the directions. This whole assignment would be better with a partner. Ancient Runes would be less boring, at least. ...but it looked like everyone had already found a partner. Hesitating, Sierra glanced around in search of someone to work with. |
Post #1: Sierra/Dylan Quote:
He STILL didn't get Ancient Runes...but Professor Jenkins was awesome. And the Slytherin figured he owed it to the guy to show up. Since he was so cool and whatnot. Anyway... Stepping through the door, Dylan glanced around the room. The Professor was nowhere in sight...and upon further reading of the board, he wasn't going to be. Seeing that they were to be working in pairs...and about something called a diamond spread, Dylan groaned. Really. These Professors and they're pairing up business... Glancing around some more, he seen that Sierra wasn't working with anyone. Was she already doing her own? Shrugging, he made his way over. "Hello, Greingoth." Smirking...and appreciative looks..."Care to work with your Captain?" |
Post #2 Text Cut: THE Govoni Hey, look! A partner...and a Slytherin at that. That would make the assignment more bearable. Not to mention that it was Captain Dylan, the new captain who'd nearly led them to victory this year. "Captain," she said, mirroring his smirk. "A Slytherin. I couldn't have asked for a better partner." "Let's get this thing done then," she said. "Where do you think Jenkins ran off to?" Maybe he just wanted an early vacation. She really couldn't blame him there. Plus, he did teach Ancient Runes. That had to be excruciating. She sat down at the table and began to make her Diamond Spread. It really wasn't that difficult. When she was done, she ended up with an inverted Ehwaz on the left, an inverted Berkano on the right, an inverted othala on the bottom, and kenaz on the top. What was the deal with all the inverted runes anyway? |
Post #2: Sierra/Dylan SPOILER!!: Girl-Prefect Smirking at his fellow Slytherin, Dylan grabbed a table and took a seat. "Likewise." Really. He hadn't thought much about the gorgeous Prefect since the match and seeing her and Kennedy...together. It had really confused him...but right now...seeing just her...Well, he wasn't as confused about it. She was awesome and pretty...and full of attitude. Sweet Merlin, what wasn't there to like? "Who knows. I haven't seen him around really." Digging down in his bag, he withdrew his bag of runes. Seeing his partner getting started, he took her lead and positioned runes in the same way she was. He pulled the Uruz (Inverted) for the left, Perthro (Inverted) for the right, Nauthiz as is was on the bottom...and Eihwaz to top it off. "So..." Glancing up over his runes, he eyeballed Sierra's set. "What did you get?" |
Post #3 Text Cut: THE Govoni She shrugged. "Me neither, but...maybe he just had to take an early vacation," she said. "Must be nice." She turned her attention back to her runes. "I've got an inverted Ehwaz on the left, an inverted Berkano on the right, an inverted othala on the bottom, and kenaz on the top." She wrinkled her eyebrows inward, putting a confused expression on her face. "What's with all the inverted rune, I wonder?" So what now? Oh, yeah. She had to think of a question and then use her runes to answer it, pretty much. Hmm... Will Slytherin win the Quidditch Cup next school year? "So I asked if it we'd win the Quidditch Cup next year," she said. Then smirking, she added, "Of course we will, but...let's see what the runes say." "The inverted ehwaz means a failure to work together or a disappointment," she said. She gave Dylan a look. That didn't sound too good... "The inverted berkano means a failure to initiate something." Merlin. Maybe she should have asked it if the Puffers would win the Cup instead... "The inverted othala means poverty, family issues, or disorder." This was a terrible reading! This was why she hated runes. They lied. Simple as that. "...and finally, kenaz means good energy, light, and power lighting the way. Well, we'll just...use the kenaz part of that reading to answer my question. Dylan, we've got to use our Slytherin power next term. Pull out all the stops..." |
Post #3: Sierra/Dylan SPOILER!!: She Slytherin Dylan nodded, hearing what she'd said about the professor. "No kidding. Too bad we can't just leave whenever." Really, he'd been ready to go home after that Championship game...Seeing the Ravenclaw's walking around like that were something...Pfft! Inverted runes? He wasn't too sure. The Slytherin had a few in his spread, too... Hmm... Listening to every word coming from Sierra's mouth and noting her look, Dylan rubbed a hand over his face irritably. This was NOT what he needed to hear right now. "Well...obviously these runes are ridiculous and have no idea about our determination." For emphasis, he glared down at her runes set..."That loss just motivates us to work harder than we did this term." Which would be difficult since they'd practiced everyday leading up to the big game. Musing his hair some, he gave the girl an apologetic look. "Not to be too defensive..." There had been a fire under him...and they didn't win. Now, it only burned that much stronger. Coughing a bit, he smirked across the table. "Ready for mine?" Moving to flip his, Dylan started at the left. http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...izinverted.jpg ...And then the right... http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...hoinverted.jpg ...the bottom... http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...Mannaz__87.jpg ...and then the top. http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/...ihwaz__102.jpg Eyeing his runes, the Slytherin sighed. "Okay...What does this mean?" |
Text Cut: THE Govoni "Yeah," Sierra said, nodding. "I actually hate runes. Jenkins does a good job, but...I just don't like the subject. I'd drop it, but my mom won't let me." For the most part, Sierra liked having a parent here at school, but sometimes, it just added to the pressure. Her mom always knew what was going on with her. She looked over at Dylan's runes then looked at her list of interpretations. What did it mean? "It means you can't read," she said with a smirk. With the feather part of her quill, she tapped her book then plopped it down in his lap. "So what's it mean, Dylan?" Yup. She was going to make him work for it. Impress me, Captain. |
Post #4: Sierra/Dylan SPOILER!!: Miss Sassy-pants Dylan nodded, understanding what his fellow Slytherin was saying. "Especially with it being your Head of House, as well." Really, Greingoth had no room for mistakes. With the way Lafay was towards her students, was she just as strict with her children? He wasn't sure why he was so curious...but he did want to know. Now probably wasn't the best time to ask, though... Focusing back on the runes and hearing her smart remark, Dylan simply smirked. "I figured it would have sounded much better coming out of your mouth..." Giving her a wink and a grin, he picked the book up she'd just plopped in his lap. At least it was already on the right page..."Okay...So we're cleared...I asked my runes about a girl." Yep. You, miss Greingoth. He was conveniently leaving that part out, though. "The rune to the left is called...The facet of the past..."...whatever that meant. "Unuz inverted means Personal weaknesses or flaws.." Giving the other Slytherin a look, Dylan sighed. Well, he was flawed...but no one was perfect. Moving on to the next one, Dylan continued on. "The Facet of tomorrow." Page-flipping. "Perthro inverted means to display false knowledge. To consume too heavily. To be irresponsible. I think I know what this one is pretaining to...but that won't be a problem for too much longer...and consuming too heavily...Well, I do immerse myself in things once I'm interested enough." Yep. Take that as you may. He was oddly fascinated with the Slytherin..."The facet of Distraction..." Carrying on, the Slytherin's voice remained even and smooth. "Nauthiz means...Needs have been unrecognized or unfulfilled. The path to healing and fulfillment lies in answering these fundamental needs. A course of action must be chosen. Desire and need can be a source of strength." Looking up again, he smirked. Power couple, indeed. He wouldn't think too much about that now, though. "...And finally...The Facet of the Future." Looking down at the list, he spotted the rune he was looking for. "Eihwaz...represents the Yew tree which stands protective against the elements and stretches up to the sky. Discipline and a defense of principles lead to greater understanding and success. Rely on inner strength." Looking up at Sierra once more, he smirked. "Should I take this as a good sign for my future romantic endeavor?" |
Post #5 Text Cut: THE Govoni At the Head of House comment, Sierra laughed then nodded along. Then he followed that up with a second comment that really only left her confused. She wasn't sure if she should take that how it actually sounded or not. Then again, Dylan was a Slytherin. He was probably just trying to get her to do his work for him. She playfully rolled her eyes when he said he asked about a girl, but then she turned her attention to him and followed along. "Dylan, you're a Slytherin. You don't need runes to tell whether you'll get this girl or not," she said with a smirk. "I'm sure you'll think of something." Was she supposed to do all that facet stuff, too? If so, she didn't exactly factor that in. Oh, well. This was a class. Surely Jenkins didn't expect them to be perfect. "Come on. Let's go turn this in, and then we can go," she said, grabbing all her belongings. She placed her parchment on the top of the growing stack then led the way out the room. |
Post #5: Sierra/Dylan SPOILER!!: Anna! Dylan smirked, hearing what Sierra thought about the runes. No, he really didn't need them to tell him about a girl or whatever else. He was more than capable of getting female attention. The tricky part was going to be getting Kennedy out of the picture...and convincing Sierra that he could be good enough for her. And...Lafay...would have to approve... ...And that last other thing...that he'd been putting off... Grinning at being told what to do, Dylan quickly wrote his name, house, and year on the top before replacing his things in his bag. Snatching them up, he moved towards the front of the room, laying his own parchment on top of Sierra's. Then he was following her out the door... ...enjoying the view the entire way. |
