The Whomping Willow I kid you not, this is one tree you don’t want to mess with. It's best you keep a safe distance from the Whomping Willow’s tree limbs or you may end up with a few broken limbs yourself. |
Jonathan fancied a walk down Hogwarts. He had nothing else to do anyway. He went down to the Whomping Willow. The Whomping Willow has been standing still at Hogwarts for centuries. It's even surprises him how it still lived after the second wizarding war. From what Jonathan had heard and read, the war partake at this very place, Hogwarts. He stood from afar and watched its branches moves. The awesome thing about this tree is that it has a mind of it's own. Although, there are some charms that can make you control it but this tree is just awesome as it is. Every year the first place Jonathan comes to is this very place and now he is doing the same thing again. Looking at it just felt peaceful, plus, not many students are roaming around Hogwarts yet. |

It was one thing to read about the most amazing tree, but it was something completely different to see it. A lot of feet away, of course, because Nora also knew what the tree could do, but still. With her tiny lizard in the pocket of her robes, the girl was slowly approaching the Whomping Willow, but still kept a fair distance between them. But... since catching her attention was not a difficult thing to do, she eventually noticed this slightly familiar boy. ... so why shouldn't she just go and say hi? "Hello... the one on whose feet I stepped on and I still feel bad about it," she said with a large and cheerful grin on her face, hoping that she wouldn't scare him, because she kind of appeared in front of him all of a sudden. |
*waves* Quote:
It may be dark and gloomy but to him it is the most serene season among the four. As much as he doesn't want to do it this term, one of the major reason why he likes fall is that he gets to hibernate. Now, with OWLs and everything in between he can't just hibernate right? That's not the best idea to be doing during fall and don't get him started over winter season. Last term all he did was sleep, he was procrastinating a lot that the only class he manage to complete was Potions. Fifth year. He's a fifth year already. The least of his worries right now is if his pillow back at the common room is as comfy as it was before. NO. He needs to reassess himself with all this. His father is just expecting too much of him. Jonathan's thoughts faded as he heard a voice from behind him. He turned his back to see who it was and saw a girl that seemed to be very familiar. New kid that he talked to perhaps, no? Transferred student, no? His expression right now is puzzled. He can't seem to remember her but he does know she is familiar. He has seen of her.... somewhere. Only the name strikes him. "Uhmm..." he mumbled. he looked in a different direction so that he could at least recall names of people he just met. Think Jonathan... think. He met a lot of people during the feast, unless he met this girl over the summer... Then that hit him. SUMMER! Yes, he did saw this girl down at Diagon Alley this summer. And she recalled that she stepped on his foot. WHAT? A lot of people has stepped on his lovely foot. Why was that? Focus. Her name... HER NAME.......... Jonathan is always having one of his pauses everytime he greets a stranger that knows him "--Nora?" he said in slightly confused tone. Now, he can't be sure if that was her real name. Worth a try. Besides, if it was in correct, the girl will just correct him with her exact name. |
Paulie Foster had decided that today he would check out this lethal tree that he'd overheard some of the students talking about. It sparked his interest, and the boy needed to do some exploring anyway. He walked down to the Whomping Willow, close enough to see its destructive limbs in clear view, but certainly not so close that there was a chance of getting thwacked. He wanted to survive at least the first week of school. His chin lifted as he stood watching the tree. Nothing was happening.. THWACK. Paulie flinched as a rather large branch suddenly swooped down and completely took out a nearby bird. Uhh.. He stepped back a pace. |
Quote:
Hearing an odd sound, Danae wondered if the boy had been smacked because he seemed to have faltered a bit. Walking over quickly, not even thinking of the danger of the plant she asked, "Are you okay?" |
Quote:
But a voice soon pulled him from any thoughts passing through his mind, and he turned to see a girl. A girl with, like, the best hair he had ever seen. She was a looker. "Me? Oh, yeah.. I just..." He glanced back over to the willow, then back to her. "I don't think that bird is." |
For anyone William sits down by the tree. He is waiting dor somone to talk to today. |
Anyone... Rose walked up to the Whomping Willow. Obviously not so close, that'd be stupid! And if there's one thing Rose isn't, it's stupid. Sometimes. :D |

Even if it made her feel better when he actually remembered her, it still hurt that it took him so long to remember Nora. See? The common name was to blame. But... did this mean that her face was common as well? Like... that hard to remember? Alright. Just because she still felt bad about stepping on his feet some time ago at Madame Malkin's, Nora decided to put on that usual smile, and not act as if she was really hurt. "Ten points for Slytherin for guessing my name right," she grinned, marking off the green part of his uniform. Yup, a fellow Slytherin, apparently. "Or make it twelve, so we wouldn't be in the negatives anymore." What happened, anyway? Since she noticed those pretty hourglasses, the Slytherins had minus twelve points. How was that even possible? |
Quote:
The puzzled look now turned into a smile when the girl joked about giving him 10 points for Slytherin. If only those points were real, then he could really make a great contribution to the house. Jonathan loves earning house points but he seems to be a little bit behind last year. As he said, he was hibernating a lot last year that even thinking of points made him lazier and lazier. But now, he is willing to change that. No more slacking off. "That's funny" he chuckled when the girl added 2 more, to make it 12 additional points. Speaking of which, those are the exact points they lost over the great hall. Bubble gum incident was it? Jonathan couldn't remember why Slytherin was deducted by the head of the house herself. All he saw was Lafay talking to Sierra, and two other girl and they seemed to be covered in bumble gum or at least Sierra was. Everything just felt blurry to Jonathan right now, He doesn't even know if he saw the scene correctly. One more thing, "Sorry I completely forgot your name." he truly was. Curse his ability to forget names easily. "I met A LOT of NEW people this summer and your not the only one who stumbled nor stepped on my foot" true, there were a couple of kids who stepped on his foot. Was that a new trend anyway? |
Quote:
"I don't see a bird." she shook her head looking at the boy again. Maybe he was in shock over something? "Did you hit your head or something?" the young girl asked with concern, fighting the urge to play Healer and start feeling his forehead for a temperature. |
For Lottie Cassie had no idea why at least once for the first couple of days back at school every new term she had to visit the whomping willow. It was a weird tradition she started back in her third year, but for whatever reason it confirmed her being back...after all nowhere else had a tree that whacked anything that came close to it. She folded her arms and watched as the tree swayed gently..almost as if it was dancing. It must be in a good mood today or something. It almost made her not want to chuck a rock at it to see how far across the lake it could hit it. |
Quote:
She was all for nature and stuff but this tree was moving, and not with the wind, it was moving of its own accord. It was certainly a tree she wouldn't find herself hugging. Approaching it warily, not taking her eyes off of the sweeping branches, Gwen got as close as she possibly could without being too close. She didn't know how much harm it could do to her and she was pretty certain her brothers had never told her anything about this before. As she got closer she noticed an older student stood about the same distance as she was. "Well that's different" she spoke, almost to herself but hoping the other would hear it. Gwenyth wasn't brilliant at talking to people she didn't know, especially in a strange environment like this. |
Quote:
She smiled at the girl and nodded, even though she might not have been talking to her."Yeah it is pretty different and violent." She looked at the tree that seemed to be growing more restless now that it had an audience of sorts."I don't think I've ever seen you before today..are you new?" She turned away from the tree now so she could fully face the girl. |
Quote:
Oh. Well there was the proof that no one knew her and she didn't know anyone else either. "Yes. Third year but I'm new to magic" she smiled weakly and apprehensively. Would people find it weird she wasn't a first year? But she was sure there were a lot of older students that were completely new to magic, she couldn't be the only late developer. "I'm Gwen" she told her moving her eyes back to the girl to speak. |
Quote:
Cassie was only a little taken aback by her third year late to magic tale. It wasn't completely unheard of, at least not to her. Freddie started in his seventh year and Thomas was a third year now? So yeah she knew a few late bloomers."Oh you are? I know another person around your age who is new to magic too." She smiled at the girl and offered her hand."I'm Cassie." |
Quote:
Merlin's beard, she didn't believe him at all. To top it all off, she thought he was hallucinating! Although.. Maybe he should say he was concussed. Then she might feel bad for him and at least he'd get her to stick around outta sheer pity. Hmmm. "You know... I can't remember," he lied, sneaking a glance at her to see her reaction, and hoping he wasn't too transparent. "You're right.. I might've hit my head or something." He tried to suppress the smile that was twitching at his lips, but the truth was the the boy wasn't exactly the greatest liar. "So.. you wouldn't mind keeping me company until my thoughts come back to me, would ya?" |
Quote:
So it wasn't as shocking as she thought it would have been? "I've met two others, they're both my age" Kinda weird. Maybe thirteen was the typical age for discovering your magic if you weren't born with it? But then she had a hand outstretched to her and so the Brunette took it and shook it. "It's lovely to meet you Cassie" she smiled warily. |
Quote:
Two others? Hmm She only knew about Tom and now Gwen, that would make up her two. Perhaps late bloomers were more common than she thought." Really? Is one of them a Thomas Broadmoor? Goes by Broadmoor?" If not then that would take them up to four late bloomers in their their third year. She grinned and shook the girl's hand as well." It's a pleasure to meet you too Gwen, I hope you enjoy your time here at Hogwarts." |
Rosalie walks towards the Womping Willow while her hair gently sways. She readjusts the strap on her shoulder inside the bag contains parchment, a quill, and ink, which she plans on writing a letter to parents. When she looks up she notices a boy sitting by the tree. She keeps walking a little closer to the tree and notices someone she met on the train. |

Aww that was sweet of him to apologize! "Don't worry," Nora said with a large smile on her face. And... in her opinion, that was the perfect moment for a big, Slytherin..ish hug, but fortunately, she managed to resist the urge. However, she couldn't stop herself from giggling like the silly girl she was when he told her that she was not the only one that stepped on his feet. "So you didn't get a special treatment only from me," she concluded, grinning. And... his poor feet. Who knows by how many other feet they've been stepped on? |

"I did, I'm kind of nervous about it though. Are there any cute boys Ravenclaw?" Rosalie asked and then let out a giggle. |

Chelsea walked near the Whomping Willow not to close of course she didn't need a trip to the Hospital Wing. She sat down and took some parchment and a quill from her purse. She began writing a letter to her aunt and uncle. Dear Aunt Astoria and Uncle Joshua, I'm having a great time here at Hogwarts. The Slytherin common room is very nice. I met so many friends so far Temperance, Raven, Kelsey, Sage, Violet, Scott, and Faina. I do miss home though. And as you know I signed up for quidditch try outs I really hope I make seeker. I did write a letter to my parents which maybe was a bad idea I know your going to be upset that I did so but it was just something I felt I needed to do. Please respect that. I understand that Durmstrang is off on a break right now so if you see Oliver tell him I say hello. Its been awhile since I last saw him and I miss him. Hope all is well. ~ Chelsea Nicole Charm She rolled up her letter and put her quill away. I'll take this to the Owlery soon she thought. She sat back and looked at the beautiful grounds of Hogwarts. Then she got up and walked away. |

Um, odd. "Yeah, I'll make sure you don't hit your head again I suppose." Danae said, knowing that she didn't have anymore classes for the day. |
Quote:
Now that she was staying, however, he didn't know what else to say. Oh. His name. Might wanna start out exchanging names. "So, what's your name? I'm Paulie." He figured that a handshake would be too formal, so he ignored one. |
Quote:
"I'm Danae." she said, pushing a bobby pin back into place so her hair didn't sproing in her face. |
Quote:
"That's a cool name.." Which, it was, but the one - or two - word answers were screaming 'I don't care,' and he tapped his fingers against the side if his leg nervously. "Uh, you don't really have to stay if you don't wanna." He pushed his lips to the side and met her eyes again. Hazel? Or maybe green, actually.. but the kind of green that didn't make a big deal about itself. "The head thing was just... not... true." Well, it seemed smart when he had thought of it. |

anyone wanna RP ? Beatrice walked around the Hogwarts Grounds and eventually ended up facing the Whomping Willow, not that close mind you. She was not mad to go any closer as the limbs might attack her. As her gaze set on the branches if the tree, she couldn't help thinking why a dangerous thing was planted there. Not that she questions the administration. She was just curious that's all. Looking for a place to sit, she found a big rock and went towards it. |
Quote:
Thomas? Sounded familiar. They'd only had two brief meetings, one in Diagon and the other at the Feast after the pair had been sorted. "Yes I think that was him" she smiled and nodded, picturing his face. Slightly.. Intimidating face. "I'm glad I'm not the only one" she grinned, but it must be hard on those completely muggleborn but didn't have any siblings. They probably didn't have a clue other than what they read about. Was this girl a Hufflepuff? Those Hufflepuffs were supposed to be a friendly bunch and was where Gwenyth thought she would end up. "I shall try my best" she laughed softly. |
Quote:
Oh well, guess Slytherin will have to work extra hard to take back those negative points. Why did she looked like that? All nice like an orange. All he did was apologize about forgetting her name. Weird. Still, Jonathan gave out a smile in return. And speaking of orange, look at his hair. It's disgusting. Why oh why did that charm had to go wrong and why oh why did his mother think this hair looked better anyway? Sigh. "Yeah, everybody steps on my foot" he said. He kind of hated that. It's not like his foot was a cushion or something. It does hurt when everyone accidentally steps on it. Bloody hell. |

Soon enough, her grin faded the moment she heard Jonathan speak again. "I'm still sorry." Boys never notice, do they? |

Cassie smiled figuring that he had to be one of them, she was amazed he hadn't scared this little one off, but he seemed to be doing good for himself with making friends. Good for him and good for Gwen too. Hogwarts was so much easier with friends." Ah I figured it was him. Did you two get on okay?" He was behaving himself...wasn't he? She nodded and smiled. Yeah being different and new must be very hard, especially in a place like this." yeah, it's so much easier to make friends when you have someone to relate to." |
short reply... Sorry *ack* Quote:
Jonathan looked at his feet. Does it really need to be stepped on a couple of times in one summer. He can still remember the last time a girl did that, his toe suffered from agony. His mother was furious about that. Really, she got so furious she wanted to know what was the name of the girl. Unfortunately, Jonathan wasn't able to ask since he just had to leave and go home. "Don't worry. No harm done" he said as he saw the girl........... blushed? Jonathan looked away and pretended he didn't saw it. |
Quote:
He took each step carefully, worried he would tumbled right over and into a pile of dirt, not that it wouldn't be fun but if people saw him... He kept his head down, his hands casually in his pockets, his head sunk down watching the grass move beneath it feet as he squished it further down with each step. He found a rock that looked unoccupied until he sat down and realized he had company, or he'd just got in the way of somebody's quiet time. Stupid Tyler if only he'd kept his eyes on what was in front of him. "Sorry" he managed, jolting back. "Didn't mean to disturb you or anything" he said, looking right at the girl, she looked younger than him, maybe he'd be saved from being yelled at. |

Yuval :P Nessie didn't know what made her do it, but she walked off heading to the womping willow. She had remembered the tree from last year. It was a highly dangerous tree. Nobody that knew about it would have gone close to it at all. She stopped about 3 meters away from the tree making sure she was still in a safe zone. She looked around surprised at how many people were standing by the tree. They were obvouisly oblivous to the fact that this tree was really alive. She was starting to get bored and she wanted something to happen and so she continued watching waiting for that something. |

For Zara ^_^ Was walking down to the Whomping Willow this difficult last term? Nope, must be the new spirit that came with the girl that made her way down the road. The last time she'd been there was with Da- the 'he' person. They're slid on a slope and it was probably the first time she felt uneasy around him. Louisa stood still close enough to the tree, if that was possible. It was you who made me grow so fond of him, someone was losing their mind over here. Louisa bent down, grabbed the largest stone she could throw and.. *tosses* .."You deserve that!" She called out, giggling at her own silliness.. and somewhat craziness at this point. The tree wasn't one to be messed with, though, one of her big branches swung forward shoving the comparatively small stone back at the girl who didn't see that coming at all and crouched just in time to avoid her very own weapon. "You're on!" She shouted and started duck-walking to find the biggest stone ever. Ha! |
Quote:
O_o She walked down to a tree. She heard a rumor that it could, whomp, hit, attack people unexpectedly, if they got too close. It should be hilarious seeing someone getting whomped by this tree, maybe even too painful to watch. HeHe. But, Joanna never believed rumors, and she needs proof to believe that this tree can whomp students... and maybe even teachers. Ohhh... Even funnier. Getting closer to the tree, humming to herself a cool rap song she heard in her last days in America, she saw her friend, from the yellow house. 'Joanna. Remember to learn the names of the houses,' she thought to herself, pinching her arm, as a forgetful girl she always pinches herself to remember. "Hey," she said sitting down next to her, "Are you too waiting to see if this tree can really hit people," she said, wondering if it is common to hug people when you meet them here, at Hogwarts. Back in America, she hugged all her friends ,at least, five minutes the day she left. Sad, sad memories. But know she needs to forget the past and stay in the present, which meant that she needs to get used to the fact that she's in Hogwarts. GET A GRIP GIRL! |

Shaking her head about this tiny dilemma, a boy approached her or the rock rather. She immediately became curious with him seating next to her as she wasn't there, she looked at him. Has he not seen me? I'm invisible now? Great, she thought. And then, he turned to her, shocked. The boy apologized. She was not sure whether to be angry at him as he really seemed not to notice her, or laugh at him. With one brow rising, " It's alright. I thought I was not visible anymore." she said, half exasperated, half amused. |

Anyway, that boy was Alex Reed. Alexander Reed. His Twin. Or used to be, he had no idea what they were now that after the summer his girlfriend told him that she liked him and..Chandler (during the heat of the moment of course) liked her back. And then last term..Alex went somewhere. Which Chandler felt guilty about him leaving. ..Why was he thinking about Alex again? OH right! Because he was almost near the tr--wait a second! THEREWASAGIRLDOINGALMOSTTHEEXACTSAMETHINGWHATALEXD ID! Seriously? WHY do people hate this tree so much?! :whaa: "OI! Don't zrow zat! You'll only get 'urt!" And if she did..the same could have happened to her. She could get a boyfriend just before summer and for him to like Chandler..maybe. Ew. Or maybe someone else if he had just left her and ran off. :| No, he wasn't going to do that. No way he was letting some girl get badly injured because he didn't do anything. He was SPIDERMANNNN. Oh, Jonathan, please enlighten her, because she can sometimes (or all the time) be so clueless about everything that is surrounding her. At least she had that same, old excuse, that she just moved there, but, unfortunately for her, it couldn't last for a long time. But anyway, Nora was super curious to find out more about Hogwarts. Maybe they had some medieval contests, which might be the ones he was talking about. At least the good part was that she managed not to share any of her interesting thoughts and ideas. Since there was that really awkward moment in which she was blushing, he noticed her and tried to act as if he didn't, yadda yadda yadda, Nora shook her head just a little and took a breath of fresh air, and her face went back to pale. "Pleasure to meet ya, Danae Zoto," he said, briefly wondering why her last name seemed to ring a bell. "I would be Paul Foster, but I go by Paulie." And only Paulie! Ohhh. Well, it was no wonder that her name seemed familiar. Wasn't there some quidditch star named Zoto? "I don't really follow quidditch, but I think there's a player who shares your last name." He cocked an eyebrow. "Is that your brother..?" He gave a small smile and nodded when she continued to say that she was fond of drawing. "Well, I've heard artists are most critical on their own work." And him? He drew a breath. "Uhmm.." Gosh, he didn't play any sports. Nor did he play music. Or draw... "I like building model planes..?" He offered. "And I like cars. Old cars." |
Quote:
"Yeah, that's him alright." she nodded, beaming now because she idolized her brother so much. He was her best friend in the whole wild world. "And yeah I am, but I'm kinda critical on everything I do." Planes and cars. "Muggleborn?" Danae was technically Muggleborn as well, because her adoptive parents were Muggles but she wanted to find her parents one day to see if she was of magical blood. |
Quote:
Oh, lordy. How come girls always seemed to giggle when he introduced himself. "What? Paulie wanna cracker?" He asked, lifting an eyebrow and grinning a little. "I get that one a lot. And then recently this one girl thought my name was 'Polly' so she thought I had a girl's name. A girl's!" Although Paulie found it more amusing than anything. Heh. It was easy to see that Danae had a close relationship with her brother. "I guess you must be real good at quidditch, then. What with your brother being a pro and all." It'd be nice to have an older brother, he thought. Or any sibling, for that matter. "Being kinda self-critical probably pushes you to do really well in school and.. anything, for that matter, though. Although it sounds pretty exhausting." Paulie was aware that he himself could be pretty lazy sometimes. Maybe she would rub off on him a bit. "Uh, yeah," he answered. He supposed it was probably rather obvious. |
