Maria nodded. "And my sister's fiance's step-mum is Spanish. I'm half French, half Italian, and my sister is half French, half American. So we have a lot of variety of things. But I prefer either my own, or Ren'Ai's cooking" she said.

Kelsey looked up and saw a gir; her age!!!:techni:She put her chocolate frog card down and said,"I`m Kelsey Carmichael.Nice to meet you. So, are you trying out for quidditch?"

Chelsea was excited to meet another first year Slytherin since most of her friends were in Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. "Nice to meet you too. Yep I already signed up for try outs. What about you?" she asked.

"go ahead take some", Maddy diddn't mind if everyone wanted her candy "Nice to meet you"

"She can have some, I don't mind" Maddy said to Sarah

"I have this too" Maddy showed everyone the black package " I don't even know what it is, it must be new. I found it at the back of one of the shelves at Sugarplums".

Lori listened. What she'd do to be more than just a Yorkshire lass. It was quite boring. Though living in Camden, it was quite exciting. In a weird kinda way. "Sounds like you're family would be fairly interesting to get to know" she replied.

Maria smiled. "They are. I can tell you who all is in it if you're willing to be confused" she giggled.

"It's nice to meet you too Maddy" Desiree smiled as she introduced herself to yet another Slytherin first year, there seemed to be a lot of them, well Slytherin was the best house in her opinion. "Thanks, although I'm not sure I want to eat it.." she laughed staring down at the little yellow bean in her hand. She mustered some courage and put it in her mouth, chew, chew..

EEEk! O_o it was lemon flavor, but not a nice lemonade, no it was the one that makes your face turn inside out! It was soo sour "Sour, oh my gosh sour!" Desiree said looking frantically for water which would probably just make it worse

Then all the sudden the flavor changed, like someone had just dumped a pile of sugar onto her lemon. she sighed with relief, and laughed at herself for her small outburst, it wasn't that bad.

Looking at the small black package Maddy mentioned, she asked "Really, what's it called?" she was curious, but after the lemon incident she was not going to be the first one to try it.

"Mystery candy" Maddy replied, even though she had no idea what it was really called, there was no name on it. " It must be new I'v never seen this kind of candy before". At least Maddy hoped it was candy, the shopkeeper at the store had wanted to dispose of it, plus it diddn't even have a price tag. So Maddy assumed somebody left it there.

Mystery candy hmm.. "Sounds mysterious." she laughed, eyeing the black "candy" box suspiciously. "Should we try it?" why not it couldn't be too bad, it was in a candy store, and candy stores sell candy. normally.

"I'm Eris! Nice to meet you guys." She gave a toothy grin before popping the bean in her mouth.

Her face scrunched up though she had a smirk that was hard to tell between amused and disgusted. "Ewwwwww....cockroach!"

Not that she had tasted a cockroach to recognize it so well. No. Of course not >.>

Though she didn't spit it out, quite admirably and dutifully, the girl chewed as quickly as possibly before swallowing. "Mystery Candy? Sounds pretty good to me..." Laying out her hands in case they needed a taste tester to deem it safe. Doing the noble thing, you know, eating people's food for them since 2063.

"Hey Eris, I'm Desiree." she said smiling just in case the girl hadn't heard her earlier. She tried not to laugh, and failed, when Iris announced she had a cockroach flavored one, that was way worse than lemon. "Gross" she said still laughing "Who comes up with these?" an image popped into her mind of someone sitting at a desk quill in hand, being paid to write down terrible new flavors for kids to eat, not a bad job.

Iris seemed nice, sometimes Desiree just had a feeling about people, and well Desiree had a good feeling about her. She saw her place her hand out to try one, being the brave one. Well at least someone was, Desiree wouldn't have done it.

"Me too. What position do you want to play? I just want to play."

"I'm trying out mainly for Seeker. I've been playing quidditch since I was six years old." she said.

Maddy opened the box, a big puff of black smoke with gold glitter came out. It was thick and clouded her vision, Maddy inhaled! "AAAHH **cough cough**". When the smoke cleared, Maddy looked into the box "pretty" she said, the candy was irridesent purple with a blackish shimmering arround them that seemed to move.

"I memorised all the quidditch books in flourish and blotts and played with my brother in the backyard at home, but that`s about it."She looked behind her to make sure her card was still there."Do you want to sleep by me?" She patted the bed beside hers.

"My uncle taught me. I really hope I get on the team but I doubt I'll get seeker because I'm a first year" she said. "Sure" She took out her wand "Wingardium Leviosa" her trunk started to levitate and she set it down on the bed next to Kelseys.

Haha. Oohh, she still felt sort of guilty. It wasn't really her place to allow someone candy that wasn't hers. But Desiree was nice...

Sarah giggled a little. Not in a mean way of course, but it was a little funny.

Sarah snorted. Eris would be the first to try the new weird candy. Well, she didn't want to be left out. "I want to try some, too." she announced.

It wouldn't kill her... probably.

Oooohhh. Pretty. Now she really wanted one.

"Thanks and goognight!"Then, she went to sleep.

Caroline had been sitting in the common room, and decided to come down the the dorms. The common room had started to get crowded with first years And other people that she was in no mood to see She flopped down on her bed. She needed sugar. Pulling out a box of candy out from underneath her bed she took a sugar quill. Oh no it looked like she would have to get someone back home to send her some more candy, her stock was running low. Or maybe the would be a hogsmeade weekend soon. She laid back on her bed crossed her legs, and nonmmed on the sweet.

Desiree watched wide eyed as a puff of smoke and glitter came out clouding her vision for a second before revealing the.. candy? inside. It looked pretty.. but was it edible was the question.

Now Eris and Sarah were going to try it, Desiree couldn't just stand by and watch. She was brave enough to eat the purple sparkling candy too (or at least she wanted it to seem like she was) Holding out her hand she said a little uncertainly "I'll try one too.." If her friends were going to explode or turn into toads, well she was going to too.

It was getting pretty late soon, so Kimalia turned over in her bed to reach out of her bag her purple journal. She had to write to Dennis about her mother, whether she's really sick or recovering fine.



Kimalia didn't tear the letter out yet. She would tomorrow morning before sending it off. After stuffing her journal back into her bag, she turned back over in her bed to get comfortable for sleep.

Maddy was first to take one of the candys, she lifted it to her mouth and just before she ate it she said "I'm not going first". Then she thought for a momet, "at least I don't want to try it first alone".

Hey there was Caroline, opening up a box of sugar quills which looked like it was running low. "Wanna try some of our mystery candy?" Maddy offered.

"Don't worry we'll all try it with you, right guys?" She said sounding more confident than she was, Desiree looked to Sarah and Eris to see if they were willing "On the count of three we'll each eat one" She grabbed one of the shimmering candies out of the box, stopping right before she put it in her mouth..

"Ready? 1... 2.... 3..."

"I believe you would have to thank some man named Bertie Bott for that" Eris winked.

Eris nodded her head in agreement, it sure was mysterious.

Eris practically had the candy at the tip of her tongue, but didn't want to be rude if someone else wanted to try with her. Though the poor witch almost had a look of laughable agony at wanting to see what the effect of this edible material would be.

The second Desiree said three that piece of candy was flung into Eris mouth with a grin of excited hunger.

Eris chewed for a moment before swallowing, as though carefully trying to taste it and await some magical after effect. Her focused face soon fell to what looked like a glassy eyed daze and smile. The smile of course, wasn't her usual boyish grin, but one that reminded you of a lovesick girl day dreaming. Then without warning the girl burst into an onset of giggles followed by a hiccup before shaking her head, a normal look returning.

"Woahhhhhh" Eris shook her head as though she had just experienced something out of world. "Can I try another?" she asked excitedly, eyes lit like Christmas morning. "She would definitely ask her mom to send them some candy so they could have more nights like this.

Desiree also popped the sparkly candy into her mouth as she finished saying three.. at first nothing happened. She was slightly disappointed as she saw Eris grinning and giggling like someone who had been slipped a love potion, but also relieved that they hadn't been transformed into something unnatural.

Then it started to sizzle and pop inside her mouth, Desiree's eyes went wide. With each pop it seemed to change a different flavor, one second it was grape, then cherry, then lime, pop. lemon. sizzle. strawberry. pop. pineapple. Desiree burst into giggles along with Eris. Although it had seemed to have a different effect on her. Then she noticed it wasn't only changing flavors, but it was glowing! She noticed different colors flashing in accordance to the flavors, purple, red, green.. it was like a rainbow inside her mouth!

She swallowed the candy, and her giggling slowly stopped as the coconut flavor faded away, along with the shining white light. Hmm Desiree wondered did different pieces do different things..? Extremely curious she also asked for another one to test her theory (and because she was really enjoying this) "I'll try another one too" she said excitedly, resisting the urge to jump up and down on her bed. What was in those things?
