Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.
"A few." Hateya pulled her parchment over and read, "Who is Professor Vindictus's older brother, and what job does he hold in the wizarding world? How'm I supposed to know that? And is this a trick question, because... he's kinda old. And his brother's older. Is his brother retired?"
Butter!
She started spreading the butter on the toast...lots of butter...did the House Elves make the butter? Because...Ellie was hoping the butter would drown out the burnt parts. Hmmm.
Oh, man. That question, "Yeah...I didn't know that...WHO knew he had a brother?" Like, seriously, who knew?
SNORT.
"That...I don't know. It could very well be a trick question, I suppose..." Bahaha. Oh, Vindictus. He wasn't around to hear that, right? Ellie still thought that brilliant of Hateya, though. And it could be very true.

"Well, if I can't get down to see him before this is due, I'm writing retired."
Hateya went on to another question, "I'm also putting his favourite colour as..." She tapped the fluffy end of her quill off her chin, before scribbling down, "mauve. He's so manly he has to have a girly part somewhere. My dad does."
Next question. Hmm...
"...you know, I feel like I could answer all of this if I just went and stood in his office for two minutes. Could you like... distract him or something? And I could write it all down?"

Ellie simply nodded. Sounded like a good plan to her. At least 'retired' was an answer. Ellie didn't actually put a legitimate answer on her homework.
Then, she took a bite of her now buttered toast at the worst possible time. She grabbed a goblet and quickly poured herself some pumpkin juice to stop the choking. Choking from laughing because that was just...too funny. Hateya was hilarious. The kid should hang around her Captain more often.
Chew...chew...swallow.
All good now, yeah? Yeah.
"You probably could. I think..." she was trying to picture their Head of House's office. She'd only been in there a couple times, but... "He has things hanging on the walls. They probably answer a lot of these questions." But Ellie couldn't really remember just what was hanging on the walls.
Distract him? "Maybe..." She'd have to think of a good way to distract Vindictus, though. Unless Hateya had something in mind already?

Hateya watched Ellie with an unapologetic, devil-child grin, though there was something on her face that indicated if Ellie was actually choking, she'd help in an instant. But, seeing as how she was fine...
Grin.
"Okay, well let's go there!" Hateya started shoving stuff in her bag, with the exception of her parchment and quill, "When you're done. No rush."
She'd just ask another question, "What are bludgers made of? I thought rocks."

Oh! Now? Go now?
Erm.... Nah, Ellie could take the pitiful toast to go, actually. "I'm good."
But, oh wait. "The book didn't tell you that? I'm pretty sure it's in there..." The fifth year pulled the book closer to her by its corner and flipped through a few pages. Hateya was entirely too far into the book. The description of Bludgers was way before the list of Quidditch teams.
Ellie scanned down a page, flipped it, scanned more...found it. "There," she pointed. Mmhmm.
"So, how exactly should I distract him?" Vindictus, of course.

"Oh." Hateya scribbled the answer down, refusing to let any embarrassment show on her face. Embarrassment not allowed. "I maybe wasn't reading it as closely as I should have been."
As for how to distract Vindictus, Hateya pondered this. Really, it would have been better for Ellie to think of something. Hateya's plans tended to be either overly extravagant, overly dramatic, or overly painful. Though she was at least smart enough to rule out Kick his Shin as an option.
"Maybe... maybe I'll distract him. He's kind of like the Ravenclaw dad, right? I'll just ask him dad questions."

Understandably. Sure, Ellie knew most of the book by heart, but Merlin knew how long it took her to actually read through it. There were just too many words. Another problem with books.
"If you distract him, how will you write the answers?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. Just...a thought. "We could go in the office together...and I can ask him dad questions, while you find these answers." Possibly.

"Good question." See what they were doing? They were puzzling this out. Like Ravenclaws! Now she could go tell her brother she did belong in the same house as him, so there.
"I thought you'd have the answers all figured out by now." You know, since Ellie was older and such. "If you're going to ask, make sure you ask him why girls have to shave their legs but boys don't, okay? I've always wanted to know."
And now that she was a teenager, thirteen, it was more important than ever!
LMAO! It would be so amusing to ask Vindy that. xD

Exactly. So, Ellie will ask questions, yeah? And Hateya will find homework answers.
Actually, the fifth year was going to think of questions to ask on the way to Vindictus' office, because she really wasn't too curious about anything. 'Least nothing that involved the Quidditch Official.
Or maybe..."I could ask him Quidditch questions...I am his Captain, after all." It was very true. She could ask him whatever about Quidditch and surely he'd go into lengthly detail.
BAHA! Or she COULD ask that!
She wouldn't, but...Haha.
"That's a good question. But maybe that's one you could ask yourself." Mhm, Ellie definitely wasn't going to put herself in that situation with Vindictus. But she certainly wouldn't stop the second year from doing so.

Reason: Blonde moment. Clearly. >_<
Jayden sat down at the Ravenclaw in a huff. Things were just not going right for her, perhaps some pie would help.
"Hello there!" She called out softly, flashing a warm smile and a wave.. scanning the crowd fora familiar face or two...
Jordan had been in the great hall, intending on ending up on the Gryffindor table, but he heard a familiar voice and he had to follow it.
He walked up to the Ravenclaw girl, "Jayden Troutwater, where the hell have you been?" he asked with a false frown of disappointment on his face, though his hair was giving away his exitement of seeing her.

"Jordan!" Jayden cried, jumping up to tackle Jordan in a tight hug. "I've missed you! I've been terribly busy lately, so most of the time I've been in the library or in the dorms studying! How have you been?" She asked cheerfully.

Jordan laughed as he hugged Jayden back, "I've missed you too!" he grinned. "Oh you know, the usual... Nate and Faina broke up kinda, and then got back together again," he said, ignoring the pang of jealousy he felt and hoping Jayden didn't notice the look on his face as they sat down.
He continued, "And, a lot of shouting at Nate, the T.O.Ps have disbanded I think, and I haven't seen Mickey or Cael in aaaaaagess!" he smiled. "Thats about it!"

"Yeah.... those two have quite the dramatic history..." Jayden said with a sigh, taking notice of the face that Jordan made when he brought up Faina.
"Yeah? Sounds dramatic! Cael has been studying like crazy lately, I miss him." She sighed, making a face. "So what shenanigans have you gotten into lately, Mr. Macey?"

...not that it was going to be house much longer...
He smiled. "I'm glad to hear it." She deserved a good holiday. And she deserved to have good times with her family. Merlin knew that they've put Mina through over the years.
Mina bit her lip and messed with the napkin in her lap a bit. "I'm sure that we'll all have a good time and I'll thoroughly enjoy Anya giving Evan a hard time," she added with a small as she looked up. It would all be in some good fun and she knew that Evan would take it well. Not just for her, but because he was a good man and he would find it somewhat funny. Anya was after all the little sister that she had always wanted and that's what siblings did to their other siblings' boyfriends and girlfriends.
Shaking her head, she let out a small laugh. "Well, okay. I could see them being excited about that, but you know they will miss you still. You are their little boy and you will always be that to them." That was how it was supposed to be, wasn't it? "You know there will always be a place for you there, even if you don't have your own room there anymore." She knew that the room that was once hers back in France wasn't really hers anymore, but if she ever did choose to return, it would be hers again. She was just happy that her room in her father's home would always be there to welcome her, if she ever needed it.
Mina nodded again and bit her lip. "It was a good break, but I am looking forward to the summer still." She was a bit torn at the same time though. She wasn't completely sure how she felt about leaving Hogwarts for a final time, but she was looking forward to living her life outside these walls with Evan and seeing what was going to happen. She was both nervous and a bit hesitant about going into the unknown completely, but it was exciting to her at the same time.
Looking up at him, she shrugged. "We really are growing up, aren't we?"
"Yeah.... those two have quite the dramatic history..." Jayden said with a sigh, taking notice of the face that Jordan made when he brought up Faina.
"Yeah? Sounds dramatic! Cael has been studying like crazy lately, I miss him." She sighed, making a face. "So what shenanigans have you gotten into lately, Mr. Macey?"
Jordan nodded in agreement, "Yeah, it's been rather eventful recently." he noticed Jayden observing the face he'd pulled. He staightened himself out.
"I wouldn't quite call it shenanigans, just a lot of irritating people when I haven't seen anyone in a while, then studying, then pulling pranks." he smiled.

Presley skipped down to dinner, and quickly spotted her best friend at their house table. She plooped down right next to her and grinned widely. "Hey, Lu, what's up?" They hadn't had much time to see each other of late, due to exams, and a number of other things, but Presley still thought of Luna as her best friend, mainly because she knew she could tell Luna anything in the world, and Luna would always be there. The same went in the opposite direction, she would always be there for Luna.
Presley was in a fantastic mood. She was itching to be done with school, and the days were getting warmer and longer. It wouldn't be too long before Presley could go swimming again, or simply lay in the warm sun and soak it in.

Justin walked into the Great Hall and sat down at the Ravenclaw table. Harvey had said he'd meet him there for a bite to eat; just the guys hanging out.

Harvey ran into the Great Hall as had told Justin to meet him there, just the guys. He got there and scanned the tables, he figured that Justin would be at the Hufflepuff table. But he wasnt so he scanned the other tables and he noticed him at the Ravenclaw table waiting for him. So he jogged over and sat down next to him "Sorry I am late, I got held up. But I am here now. How you been?" he asked his best friend.

Harvey smiled "Yeah I am good too, hungry more than anything else. Yes that is so true, cannot think about anything else with them there." he said chuckling, as he helped himself to some food "Let's eat" he said, to tell Justin to take some food and wolf it down. That is how hungry he was, he knew Justin too must be hungry.
