Eat, drink, and be merry, O Eagles. Classes begin again tomorrow.
The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
And what's this? The silverware is tarnished and askew, almost as if thrust on the table willy-nilly. Take a seat and search for a clean spoon while the Sorting Hat ceremony commences. The House Elves have done their clean up work quickly and effectively, and the silverware and dishes are now set to right.
Jayden had a really hard time suppressing a grin.... "Well thank you...Now that we have gotten the introductions down a bit... would you mind telling me more about yourself?" She asked the boy and then realized she had to turn away, her face was beginning to grow warm, and she did not want the boy to catch her blushing....
ooc: Jayden has striking blue eyes, and blue hair currently. (She likes to dye her hair different colors) and she has an athletic build.
Oh but Nate caught her blush. "Oh, come on, you can look at me, can't you? After all, our eyes match," he said with a bright smile, "well, I like puzzles..." Nate trailed off here, and hoped she might ask more specific questions next time, "...and chess, I like chess..." His voice was back to normal now, but Nathaniel was otherwise speechless, having just noticed Jayden's Ravenclaw blue hair.
What? Noooo, Ellie didn't notice that blush...not at all...
"It's good to see you," she said to the two, though she was eyeing Eino and his stuttering. "I'm great. And my summer was....alright. Good, even. Maybe." She was indecisive. Surely the end counted for something, but did it make up for the entire holiday? Though, she wanted to avoid questions, so, "It's was good. What about yours? Did you do anything fun and exciting?" That was for the pair of them.
Her grin widened ever so slightly at her teammate's question. "Yeah." Hehehehehe. She nonchalantly swiped her hand across the badge as she went to scratch an 'itch' on her nose.
She drew her wand at their responses and twirled it in her fingers, contemplating whether she should use the spell or not. Surely, if she looked at the Staff table, she'd see if they were using the spell, but she didn't want to chance a glance for fear of her mood being ruined by someone else sitting in Little Professor's seat.
"My summer was splendid!" He had been very busy and got to travel to several different countries, so it had, possibly, been the best summer ever. Strangely, everyone else he had spoken to thus far didn't seem to have had such exciting summers, but maybe they just didn't want to share everything. Eino then listened for Ellie's answer to Vashti's question, in regards to the Quidditch Captain position, and watched as she showed it. "Congratulations, Ellie!" He said and began clapping, somehow expecting everyone else to do the same, but when he noticed his were the only pair of hands applauding he stopped and put them in his pockets. "I am sure you will do fantastic!" Hopefully, Ravenclaw would have a little more lucky, and better trained players this year, and give the other Houses a good fly for their galleons.
SPOILER!!: Vashti
Quote:
Vashti smiled. Eventful and delightful. Well that was quite an original answer. She started to set down the spoon she'd been holding just as she noticed he was looking at it. Oh yeah, the silverware. Perhaps he had an idea as to why it was all like this? Vashti was about to ask when...
...
What was this about a hen?
She tuned back into the conversation just as the silverware was brought up. Scourgify? "It should work," she agreed with a nod. Cleaning things was what the spell did, after all. If it worked on cauldrons, surely it would work on silverware too.
"Well, if the Scourgify doesn't work, then perhaps Tergeo or Reparo might." Eino didn't really know exactly what tarnish was. Was it dirty or damage? Depending on which it was they would have to use the appropriate spell. They were askew, so they would have to mend them to their original shape with the Mending Charm, nonetheless. He didn't want to be the one to do it, though, not without permission. All of the silverware seemed to be like the ones they were holding so surely the house elves or someone else had been informed by now. Maybe they would have their first Charms lesson even before class start and learn a new spell to fix the silverware. He finally looked at Vashti and shrugged.

"I am so sorry!" squeaked Jezabel. All her previous self-confidence had gone completely down the drain. Now all she wanted to do was go to bed, pull the covers over her head and stay there for ever. "Thanks," she said meekly to Jayden. "I completely lost my head there."

"One third year got gum in her hair I don't know how it started I just remember hearing our head of house screaming 'what is going on'. And I know what you mean when I saw the silverware I lost my appetite. As for the train ride I'm not a big fan of long train rides but when I walked in it was worth it this place is amazing" she said. "Well what I've seen so far is amazing I can't wait to see more" she had been waiting for this for a long time and now she was actually here.
"Huh, food fights at my muggle school would start either because they wanted something to do or one kid threw food at another kid. I'm used to long train rides, only because a train would sometimes break down and we'd be stuck on the tracks until they fix it or unitl they determined it would take to too long to fix and would then put us on another train." Temperance says "Yeah it is amazing and I also can't wait to see more. There are so many different things I could draw!"
Jayden bit her lip nervously, and then turned and looked Nate in the eyes. "Wh- what class are you looking forward to the most?" She stammered... momentarily caught off guard by his dazzling smile. "This is definately going to be an interesting year." She thought to herself..
Surya was looking around here and there and found one of his friends, Jayden. "Hey Jay!"
Jayden bit her lip nervously, and then turned and looked Nate in the eyes. "Wh- what class are you looking forward to the most?" She stammered... momentarily caught off guard by his dazzling smile. "This is definately going to be an interesting year." She thought to herself..
"Transfiguration?" This wasn't meant to be a question, but it came out as one. "What--what about y-you?" he asked breathily.

Chelsea was curious about muggle school "So what was muggle school like? I was home schooled until Hogwarts" she said.
"I never had been on a train before coming here my aunt and uncle apparate to get somewhere and its very quick" she explained "You should draw the Whomping Willow that would be a cool drawing" she suggested.
Surya noticed someone else beside Jayden. "Hi, My name is Surya, 1st year."
Oh my goodness another person to talk to. Why now?! he thought. He didn't break his gaze with Jayden (he couldn't), but he simply said "Yeahihowreyou?" very quickly and rather quietly, just to avoid ignoring this other student.
Surya was looking around here and there and found one of his friends, Jayden. "Hey Jay!"
Jayden was deep in thought when she heard her name being called by a familiar voice... "Hey there Surya! It's been quite the night, hasn't it? And did you see the silverware? Some of it was filthy, my parent's will not be happy about this if they find out." Jayden was still slightly irritated by the dirty silverware... no pureblood would stand for it. It was not how they were brought up.

She turned her attention back to Nate... he really was a sweet boy, and good looking as well. "I'm looking forward to charms, and transfiguration the most." She could not stop blushing! Soooo embarassing!
Jezabel looked around and spotted a girl sitting near her. She was looking almost wistfully at the Gryffindor table, like she'd wanted to be there instead. "Hello," Jezabel smiled. "I'm Jezabel. Who're you?"The words went skipping out of her mouth before she realised how blatant they sounded.
Danielled stoped daydreaming when she heard her name being called "huh?" she said confuced, then she looked at the girl that was talking to her, she couldn't help but to smile "hello Jezabel, its nice to meet you, I'm Danielle" she said happily, she was finally making a new friend

Ellie's summer was maybe good? Vashti couldn't help but wonder why but then Ellie seemed to decide that it was good. Hmm. Suspicious. But okay then, if she said so. It seemed Eino was the only one who'd had a genuinely good - or rather, splendid and delightful - summer. "Mine was fine." Anything exciting and fun? "I went to the carnival they're having in Diagon Alley." That had been fun for the most part. "What about you guys? What'd you do?" She was definitely curious to know what Eino had done to make his summer so awesome and what Ellie had done that only made hers maybe good.
The grin returned when Ellie confirmed her thoughts, not only with a verbal response but also with a pretty shiny little badge. "That is awesome!" And really no surprise. "Congratulations! You'll be a great Captain, I know it." That Quidditch Cup was SO going to be theirs.
Wait, who was clapping?
It was coming from right beside her, but when she looked over at Eino, the clapping had stopped and his hands were in his pockets. Hmm.
She drew her wand as well but refrained from immediately casting on any of the silverware when Eino spoke up. "Those are good ideas, too," she said, nodding. But...should they go ahead and try to clean the stuff up? Ellie had her wand out too but wasn't casting on any of them. Did they need permission to cast spells on the Hogwarts silverware? She glanced over at Eino and saw him shrug, so apparently he was unsure as well whether they should go ahead or not. Hmm....

"I am fine. What's your name?" Surya couldn't understand anything. Why were both them so quiet?
Jezebel smiled at the boy. He seemed nice enough. "Hi, Josh, I'm Jezabel. Welcome to Ravenclaw!" She tapped her wand on the table, and little blue sparks shot out of the end. She stared at it in amazement and delight. "I did it! I did it! I didn't make anything catch on fire!"
Josh was happy for Jez and that she sucsessfully conjured the sparks. He took out his wand and said, "Not to show off but," He waved his wand and conjured a blue Jobberknoll. "The tail feather of this bird, a Jobberknoll, is the core of my wand."
Jayden was deep in thought when she heard her name being called by a familiar voice... "Hey there Surya! It's been quite the night, hasn't it? And did you see the silverware? Nate had the suspicion that she had said charms as a way to complement him on his apparent flirting skills, but maybe that was just him being arrogant. "So you're a pureblood then? So that means your parents are both magical, correct?" Nate had just managed to fight the words from his throat.

Pam decided now was a good time to step in. "Hey there, Surya was it? I'm Pam." She tried to direct the other boys attention away from the two. Nate was her friend, but she just loved watching him talked to this girl.

Reason: ack >.< sorry wrong gender.
"I am so sorry!" squeaked Jezabel. All her previous self-confidence had gone completely down the drain. Now all she wanted to do was go to bed, pull the covers over her head and stay there for ever. "Thanks," she said meekly to Jayden. "I completely lost my head there."
She was really annoyed to death. When the feast ends, she thought, she could go straight to bed and bury herself to sleep. However, this girl, this filthy boastful girl ruined everything. She couldn't let it pass.
"Hey you! Next time you practice your magical skills, don't do it with a lot of people to save yourself from embarassment," she said in her high voice looking confident. For a moment she thought, how can she talked like this to a girl who just levitated something when she, Erin Heyman couldn't even hold her wand right. A muggle downfall. With her anger not subsiding yet she added, "By the way I'm Erin. You?"
Nate had the suspicion that she had said charms as a way to complement him on his apparent flirting skills, but maybe that was just him being arrogant. "So you're a pureblood then? So that means your parents are both magical, correct?" Nate had just managed to fight the words from his throat.
"Yes, I am a pureblood.... both my parents are wizards, yes." Jayden calmly answered the boy. "I'm assuming that since you had to ask that question, you are not from a magical upbringing?" Jayden smiled, her blue eyes flashed, he had definitely caught her interest. Usually blood status mattered to Jayden, but for some reason with this boy she didn't care. There was something... enchanting about him.

"I am fine. What's your name?" Surya couldn't understand anything. Why were both them so quiet?
"I'm Nathaniel. I'm sorry, I'm just sorta distracted by your friend here. She's really pretty." Just as this left his mouth he half regretted it. The other half of him said it was just the right thing to say. "Sorry Surya. Well, we'll be in the same dorm won't we?"
Chelsea was curious about muggle school "So what was muggle school like? I was home schooled until Hogwarts" she said.

"Muggle school is okay. I mean as long as you like the same things everyone else does, you won't have a problem. It's when you're like things that everyone else doesn't like that you get bullied or at least that is what happened with me." Temperance says with tears forming as she remember's some of the bullying she went through. She then shakes to her heard to clear her mind, "Anyway you had eight classes a day, a break for lunch and an hour or so after lunch to play with your friends or just relax before your afternoon classes. Depending on the school you went to, you may or may not have uniforms also. Each grade level has classes you have to take plus some extra classes like music or choir. There were also sports, like soccer, football, baseball, basketball and volleyball that you could join after school if you wanted too." she says "Is that like teleporting?" Temperance asks "I might just do that. Thanks for the suggestion!" she says with a smile

Nate was scared to say this, but felt really comfortable with this girl. "I... No. My parents are muggles. Well off muggles, mind you..." Somehow he still felt the extra defense necessary.

I am so sorry about the gender mix-up. I was too lazy to check

"I'd love a friend to talk to. I like making new friends." She smiled sweetly and then started fiddling with her hair. After a while it started bothering her, so she put it up in it's usual braid.
