"Hey! We met on the train, remember?"

"You are making my brain unhappy little person." Yeah. So. Grrrr.

...

Lexi shrugged a bit... SHe had told the girl to have a seat hadn't she? Oh well. Some people didn't GET that she was being as nice as she could.

Ronnie felt kinda stupid for leaving. She wanted to make that girl feel better but all she was doing was making her worse. She thought on ideas to help her out or something.....she then, feeling very stupid, walked back up to her. "Er....I-I'm sorry for leaving like that. I just thought I had been annoying you or something. Please tell me what's bothering you?" she asked.

Hopefully, the now Head Girl had gotten that out of her system on the train. If not...well...then this was going to be a reeeeeeeeeeeally awkward term. Especially when one considered that it was obvious that Walnut was in kitty love with the girl.

"Well, you have been known to land yourself in detention," she teased, sticking her tongue out slightly. Not that Kurumi would really be able to do that to Josh. She was pretty sure she didn't have that in her. "Oh, I nearly forgot...father says thank you for the letter...but....why did you even write my father in the first place?"

Over the course of everything that had happened last term, Kurumi had forgotten that she had asked her father to send bath supplies. Then again, she had no idea just how MUCH the man had sent.

"Glad to hear that," Kurumi smiled. She saw that Ronnie was focused on the Sorting taking place, so she ought to not bother the girl for now. It was always something fun to watch. "Enjoy the feast."

Kurumi offered the girl one last smile before continuing her way down the table.

"Nice to meet you Charles," she replied with a bow of the head. "You're welcome. Baking has always been a hobby of mine, so it makes me happy to see others enjoying them." Her smile brightened just a bit more. "My name is Kurumi and I hope you enjoy the feast. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I am sure more first years will be joining us at the table. Many have already." She gestured down the table a bit.

Kurumi's smile faded. Yep, still the queen of terrible first impressions. His laughter went unnoticed by her as she looked down at her black school shoes. "S-S-S-Sorry," she stammered, flailing her arms around just a bit. When he had explained himself, Kurumi felt even worse. Of course that is what it had meant. Why would someone be given a nickname based on Audio and Visual? "Oh, um, right..."

Akward.

"Oh, well welcome to Hogwarts as well," she smiled, momentarily forgetting the awkward conversation from moments earlier. It was now that she noticed just how disgusting the dishes were. "You...don't suppose Scourgify would fix this, do you?" she asked picking up a dirty fork and turning it over in her hands.

"I would be a hypocrite if I did," she said, obviously relating to their abilities. Having been called one all her life, how could she possibly do the same to her best friend? That idea seemed utterly ridiculous. "And of course," she giggled, taking her wand out of her pocket. "And I'll make sure that no one else can hear." The spellwork was simple enough.

Kurumi nodded. Yep, he had it right and had even bowed back a little. Kurumi blushed just a bit and tried not to let her giggle become audible. "It's nice to meet you Paulie." For some reason, his name reminded her with that of a bird, but that would cause yet another silly first impression that she really didn't need nor want.

LEXI! Merlin had Kurumi missed her. She had enjoyed taking care of Rufus over the summer, and didn't really want to part with him, but, he was Lexi's monkey and not hers. She hadn't had time to give the now seventh year the gift she had bought in New York for her, but the look on her face right now signaled that the lioness might not be too excited about it anyway.

Still, Kurumi wasn't sure when she would get the next change to do so. No time like the present, right?

"Lexi!" she chirped as she walked up behind the blonde and tapped her shoulder. "I...I never got the chance to give this to you back when I gave Rufus back."

She handed Lexi a small parcel.

"Valerie," Kurumi repeated, taking extra time to make sure that she said the V properly. "Nice to meet you."

Kurumi blushed a bit as she watched the girl much on her cookie. Perhaps the most satisfying part of it all was having others enjoy. Eating cookies alone was always kind of sad.

"I did," she nodded. "Baking has always been a hobby of mine."

Ronnie smiled at the girl and finished the cookie. Ahh so good! She then watched the rest of the sorting.

" Welcome to Gryffindor" William smiled at the girl. "Are you excoted to be at HogWarts?' William asked her. " My name is William Starr, second year Gryffindor" he introduced himself to the girl.

" How is it going?" Willaim asked Ronnie." You need to sit up with yoru friends" Willaim said to Ronnie. " Unless I am not your freind" William teased Ronnie laughing hard.

"Going good!" Ronnie said. "Right I guess I need to sit with my friends...?" Ronnie said feeling a slight bit confused. "Of course you're my friend!" Ronnie exclaimed laughing.

She pulled some soup towards her and grabbed the nearest spoon. She rubbed it clean on her sleeve and began to eat, still deep in thought. The sooner she could get to the library and read the better.

Another person linked this mess to the House Elves? Well at least when August had mentioned them before he knew he was at least talking some sense, maybe he wouldn't stick out as a Muggleborn as bad as he thought he would.

But he was already making new Gryffindor friends, making him happy he landed in this house since people seemed really nice so far. "Hello Nathan, I'm August a third year here in Gryffindor." he said pausing, deciding not to mention his lack of magic in his family unless asked. He absentmindedly fidgeted with the front of his robes... until he remembered that Destiny had his badge...

Whoops..

He glanced down at the silverware. Why was everything dirty? How was he supposed to eat potatoes?

Then another, older kid began to look quizzically at his silverware too. Wanting to make a good impression on the older student, August scooted over to him and pointed at the dirty fork. "Yeah, word is the House Elves are on vacation. I'm August by the way. Third year, just sorted into Gryffindor." he held his hand out to shake the other guy's.

Brooklyn slid into an empty spot along the Gryffindor table. So, this was the house she'd be spending the next few years in. How.. interesting. The previously home-schooled girl grinned broadly as her bright blue eyes wandered the large hall, trying to spot a familiar face, but failing miserably. Sigh. Allowing her mind to wander a bit more, she wondered what houses Bailey, Nick and Paulie got into seeing as they hadn't gone to Hogwarts before either.

CRINGE.

There were OWLS. Flying ABOVE HER. EEEEEEEEEEEEE. She did not like this. Not one bit. She picked up a fork, ready to defend herself if any of those stupid birds decided to approach her.

But of course, not until after she picked it up did she notice just how dirty and disgusting it was. EWWWW.

"Far as I know from some of my older wozard freinds back home. It should be quite the thrill for a first timer like yourself. I first took the skies when I was eight and I can still remember the day. Mainly because my mother was right behind me shouting directions but even that could not spoil the feeling of flying for the first time. The rush of the open air is just incredible".

Plumeria didn't hesitate and began to pile her plate with bacon, eggs and a whole range of different and delicious-looking food. After she had begun to chew on something that was unknown to her - and realised that it was one of the most amazing and mouth-watering thing that had ever touched her lips, she looked up from her plate and anxiously glanced down the long wooden table. She could see lots of the first years that she had uttered only a few words to during the sorting also tucking into their food. Plumeria pushed her long blonde hair out of her face before looking over at the other house tables.
"Oh, erm...Ronnie?" she started looking at her sister. "I know school has only just started, but when will the quidditch try-outs start?" Plumeria was just determined to get on a broom. She loved quidditch more than most things in life, but she was already worried that she wouldn't make the team. After all, her Great-Uncle Harry was the only person she knew who made the team in his first year.

Ronnie began just feasting on the food. Ahh, there was everything here! Then she heard her name. "Oh yes?" she asked turning to Plumeria, while chewing some delicious chicken. Ronnie thought. "I actually don't know, but I don't think first years can be on the quidditch team...but you still have like flying lessons and stuff." Ronnie said feeling a bit sorry for Plumeria that she had to disappoint her like this. Telling her that first years can't play quidditch. She knew Plumeria just loved quidditch (like her) But then she remembered great uncle Harry Potter, who had made it into Quidditch in his first year. She thought curiously. "I'm sorry sis. If you want, during Christmas break at home, we can play together! Father bought you the new Twigger 101 also! It's at home, since first years can't bring their brooms..." she said feeling sorry yet again for her sister.

"Yeah, word is the House Elves are on vacation. I'm August by the way. Third year, just sorted into Gryffindor." he held his hand out to shake the other guy's.

August? Wasn't it September?

Then Carter realized that the boy was saying his name.

"I'm Carter Phillips." he said introducing himself. "Welcome to Gryffindor."

He looked down at the silverware again. "Really?" he asked. "I didn't know that they could do that." Not that he knew much about house elves anyway. He'd only ever seen the Hogwarts house elves.

"Cool." Said Plumeria, finishing what was on her plate and filling it up with more unrecognisable but tasty looking meat. "So, shall we go to the gryffindor common room after we've finished eating?" She asked Ronnie. Plumeria's plum-coloured eyes narrowed as she took out the slimy mushroom out of her mouth and put it on the side of her plate. "I should have recognised a mushroom when I see one. I've never liked them much." she stared down at it in disgust, lifting her glass of pumpkin juice and gulping a quarter of it down to try and get rid of the taste.

Not really expecting an answer, since he tended to speak out loud to himself from time to time, August was a bit suprised when a girl sat down next to him at the table and spoke about House Elves and their usual cleanliness of the cutlery. "Oh House Elves DO work here right? I remember reading something about them in 'Hogwarts, A History'!" he said excited he actually rememered something from that book and was able to sound at least a tad in the know of wizarding things.

"Nice to meet you Nessie." he said shaking her hand. "I'm August, a new third year. I went to Muggle school before coming here." Yep, that's how he was going to be introducing himself for probably the next week or so.

The boy was definitely new to the school if he didn't know about the elves. Every student knew about the elves and most students knew about the kitchens too. The kitchen was one of Nessie's favorite places. She always used to grab something to nibble on before she headed to the common room every night but tonight she wasn't sure she'd be able to get something especially if the elves were really away. "Yeah elves do work here..they keep the place clean and they make sure we get fed." She said telling him about the elves"but tonight I don't know what happened." If he was a newbie she didn't want him to get a bad impression.

Muggle school..the thought of muggle schools didn't bring many good memories for Ness. She used to go to a muggle school herself when she was younger. Her parents made her go to one even though they knew about magic way before she was born. She didn't fit in too well with muggles it just wasn't her thing."Nice to meet you too August" she said smiling as she shook his hand back."I used to go to a muggle school too but that was quite a while ago." She wasn't too surprised he was a third year he did look older."So you happy with the house you got?" She asked. She gussed he was in Griffindor because he was after all sitting at the Griffindor table.

He absentmindedly fidgeted with the front of his robes... until he remembered that Destiny had his badge...

Whoops..

He glanced down at the silverware. Why was everything dirty? How was he supposed to eat potatoes?

Adrianna looked over to see an older boy fidgeting with his robes. Then, as he looked at his silverware, his expression looked perplexed and disgusted at the same time. She couldn't help it, she giggled. She lifted a hand to smother it, but it only succeeded in making her laugh more. Finally, when she got a hold of herself, she took a breath and looked over at him.

"Are you okay? Is something wrong?" she asked him, wondering what had made him make such a strange face.

EWWWW.

Paulie took a sip of his apple juice as Adam turned to say something or other to Kurumi. The boy casually looked up from his glass and scanned over the rest of the table to see his new housemates.

aekurghlaerughelrgh! :whaa:

THE KNOCKOUT! The knockout was in his house. A wide smile spread across his face, and he opened his mouth to greet his friend. "Hey - Brooke!" Only now did he notice that she was clenching onto her fork and staring at.. the ceiling? Odd. But he didn't care, she was his housemate! "You got Gryffindor, huh? Good deal!"

She typically saw things that others missed, she had to make sure to figure out what was best to mention and best not to... but that was something for anotehr time.

"Oh no! Did you lose it?" she asked him, not really knowing the significance of badges, but obviously it had to be something important. Then, he continued and it made a bit more sense. Brooklyn stared as the birds flew around, not paying attention to the rest of the children as that were sorted because she had more important things on her mind right now. Like.. how the birds could attack her and she could DIE. See? More important things were on the girls mind than the younger students who were unaware of the danger above.

The only thing that snapped her out of her current state of fear was the call of her name. Her head whipped toward the voice, noticing the familiar face. All thoughts of birds aside, the blond beamed. It was Paulie. PAULIE. "Paulie!" She said excitedly, loosening her grip on the fork for a moment before getting up to side beside him. "You're in Gryffindor too?" BEAM. That was kind of a stupid question, but she really didn't care right now.

Friendly, not too crazy...except for one girl who had a look to kill. Perhaps if Adam thought that it would help she would ask the girl if she was alright, but he decided that maybe she just wanted to be left alone.

"Aww...bummer," Adam said with another little laugh. He was taking a sip of water when Paulie mentioned finding a frog in his living room. Adam couldn't stop his eyebrows from going up surprise. "Well...isn't that an interesting thing to find in your living room." Adam supposed there were worse things one could stumble upon...but still...a toad was rather odd. "I actually bought a puppy," Adam said with a little smirk as he set his goblet down. "I'll introduce him to you once we get up to the common rooms...and don't worry, he doesn't smell." Adam made sure to give JB a bath right before they left for the train...after all no one would appreciate him having a pet if the pet smelled as awful as the pen at the wizarding carnival had.

Adam gave Paulie a little smirk at the comment about the neighborhood moving. "So far they're still at the same house, but we'll see when it's time to go home for a break." Of course, Adam's parents hadn't even been there to say goodbye, so he wasn't even sure if they knew when the next time he was returning was going to be.

Louisa had literally jumped off the bench once the sorting was over and started walking spyishly through the students. First, she was sure to keep a blind eye on her house's table in case... 'the he & she' were around. Second, she had to find an empty seat somewhere els-

Okay, scratch that. Adam's back was staring right at her and she made a run for it, ignoring the fact that he was already seated around some students and slammed into his back her hands on his shoulder as she craned her neck forward, "YOU'RE A GRYFFINDOR!" You know, pointing out the obvious and being too happy to hide her reluctance at the 'other issue' that was invading her mind.

Without a permission, she crammed herself between him and another student and sat down. Hopefully that person wouldn't do a fuss about it, it wasn't like she needed that much of space anyways. "Although I preferred Ravenclaw. It's fine. You look great in red and gold." She giggled and shook her head at her silliness.

Staring at the usual wooden table, usual sets of food tools that were...

O__o Huh? Why did Gryffindors have rusty tools? Her laugh was stopped abruptly as she examined a spoon, "Why do they give you rusty spoons and forks?" She hadn't sat at their table yet but she was sure they had clean and neat ones every year. If she was free to go and check out on their own spoons and stuff, she would've gotten up and done that but... the he & she were probably around and Louisa was determined to keep her mood alive and good.

Sage listened intnetly as Nathan explained how to use a bike-cycle.

"Oh yes, I'm really excited for Hogsmede, my brother used to bring back candy when he went to Hogwrts for me and my younger siblings! It was delicious!" Sage said remembering the yummy candy she still had hidden inside her pillow back home, "I absolutly love Quidditch, best sport in the world! I've also seen a bit of futbol when I went to visit my Grandad, but I've never heard of those other sports. I also like playing Exploding Snap, but Wizard Chess gets a little boring for me."

"Oh man, muggle school was the same for me! Always in trouble. It was okay though cuz my parents were on my side. My brother turned out to be a wizard too you see, so they had suspicions that all the havoc I was causing as school might have something to do with magic.. I have to say though, since I felt the teachers punished me unfairly, I did turn against the teachers a bit, and sometimes I just gave them a bit of grief because I knew they didn't like me anyway."

Munching on a jacket potato, she smiled at the boy, glad to have someone from a muggle background as well. "Thank heavens we're here now though, right? Muggle school just seemed so slow!"

She carried on eating for a while, then suddenly remembered: "Oh sorry! I'm Emily by the way.."

That girl was caught up in that ceiling, wasn't she? Maybe the whole night sky-ceiling had some sort of hypnotizing power, too. Gahh. But when she seemed pleased to see him, Paulie was quite pleased, too. Aaaand she even switched seats! Good, 'cause he liked being closer. "Yep, sure am," he nodded. "I've only been sorted for, like... fifteen minutes, but I really like it." The fifteen-year-old gave a short chuckle and tilted his drink back and forth.

"So, what's new?" He turned to her as he asked and waited for her to enlighten him about her summer holiday. As an afterthought, he added, "I see you like the enchanted ceiling..?" His chin lifted as he took a glance up at the so-called moon.

She asked Ronnie.

"Sure, why not?" Ronnie said. "The Gryffindor common room is amazing! You'll love it!" she said. Ronnie watched as Plumeria took a mushroom out of her mouth. "I don't like them either. Nodding to a few more first years, Kurumi spotted Gideon and a smile reappeared on her face. FINALLY a boy who clearly had some sense in his skull.

"Gideon!" she chirped. "You made it."

Having been lost in thought, Gideon turned as he heard his name being called. He couldn't help smiling as he spotted Kurumi, chuckling at her words.

"Aye...that I did," he answered. "Was a close call but I was brave enough," he teasingly added with amusement.

Gideon's view being in the opposite direction, it wasn't until he registered footsteps stopping right beside him that he turned to see the other Gryffindor there. He watched with a polite smile as Selina sat down beside him not saying a word to him until she offered him a cookie.

"Sure," he said accepting it from her. "Thanks."

Kurumi first Selina second

He stood there,a smug expression etched over his face, with his arms crossed as he swayed in spot leaning back in what he assumed to be a cool posture, but in reality it made him look like a twat. After hearing what Kurumi had to say first he responded with a shrug of his shoulders an said calmly," No game..It's just me.That's my outlook on life right now."

When she then showed him her finger an how the ring wasn't there anymore he hadn't actually expected her to not take it off.She had done so one time an it was no different this time.He had left her to a whole new world, whole new girl, which he imagined CeCe an Kurumi not getting on at all.It didn't surprise him because in all honesty, she wouldn't have kept it all the time. Then he began to wonder when she had taken it off.The start of the term he wasn't there anymore or a little bit afterwards when a few months or weeks came by an it hit her that he wouldn't be coming back anytime soon.Had she kept it just to try an remember him?

Don't give me that..." He said once again annoyed with her.Hadn't he always been that way so why was she just speaking about it now. You've always known I've been selfish..Look at how many times I've hurt you..It took this long or were you just waiting for the right moment to say it?"

Then he turned to face Selina whom compared to Kurumi, was enraged rather than mad at him.She really looked like she could spit fire in his face an she wouldn't care about the burning sensation that would pierce his skin.

He stood there silently, letting her talk.Besides,he wouldn't be able to interrupt because in all reality his voice would be drowned out by her's .

An now you're 13 an she's 14.You guys have gotten yourself a little bit more fierce haven't you.But I know this time I can't give you guys a fake sob story, because you're smarter than that. Both of you.It just took some years..There's no way I can weasel myself out of this one an I knew that since I got her...

It's a good thing we're not exactly blood siblings..Besides you told me you wanted to be my sister..Actually,you got to know how I am,was, hotheaded, you saw all the bad things I did while we were both here at Hogwarts..So,partly it's your fault for getting hurt by me..I bet you if you hadn't wanted to be my 'sister' than you would be slightly less mad at me..
"He shot back at her,his cheeks turning blood red.

She was quite looking forward to changing back into her normal clothes so she felt comfortable. Although that would probably make her feel like she doesn't belong even more. She expected a lot of the students would be in designer and she would be second hand clothes or hand me downs, but she loved them.

Gwen shuffled awkwardly in her seat glancing around worriedly at the other students. She was scared that they'd shout at her or something because she was at the 'wrong' table. That she didn't belong there and that she should go back to her own table. And she didn't want the attention drawn to her, she'd rather just sit there anonymously and have no one notice her. Worst way to make friends, something she had a talent of back in the commune but that was because everyone was equal. She wasn't used to this house business. "You have something on your face" she whispered but couldn't help but giggle, only to realise what she was doing and stopped.

O___________O

"They're supposed to be mean" she pouted glancing at him. "I'm not mean, I'm the compete opposite" For goodness sake, she was a hippy. "Was he?" she asked as he told her about his brother. "Is he nice?" Because that might make a difference. At least then she'd know that the rumours weren't exactly true. "It might have got it wrong though. Everyone makes mistakes, maybe it did too" she told him, staring at the hat and then over to the Slytherin table where she had sat only moments ago. "And what does it know about me?" Did it read her mind because that would be scaaary. "It didn't take in what I wanted to be in. My brothers said it would" she shook her head.

"I mean I want to be in this house" she looked down at the table again, hanging her head. It took her a while to realise she wasn't stuttering. She was nervous though. "But I don't think I'm brave enough" Because there were a lot of things that scared her.

Then suddenly he was wafting a cake under her nose and she pulled away from it. "No thank you" she stated looking at it. Did the house elves make that? Poor things. "I'm not really hungry" And those plates were very dirty. Who knew what was put into the food.

Thomas looked away from the only girl he knew to the other students around the table. They were all locked in conversation and suddenly the lad felt very alone. The ones his own age had two years of magical education over him. He frowned a little, only looking back at the girl when she'd finished playing with her hair and spoke again.

He what!?

His eyes widened and his hand flew to his cheek where he scrubbed vigorously. “Where?” He asked her. “Is it cockroach clustah?” Urghhh.. Blaady 'ell. He KNEW those things were going to come back and haunt him. “It ain' funny.” He protested to her giggles.. but she'd already stopped and was looking scared again.

What was with this girl?

Cue confused frown.

Then she started waffling... about Slytherins being mean and about her family and Tom blinked. “Me bruvvah ain' mean.” He said plainly. “'E's dead quiet an' tha'. I dun' fink 'e's evah been mean to anyone on purpose.” He shook his head. Surely they wouldn't use the hat if it was faulty. “But it's maagic.. it ain' human. I'm sure it jus' KNOWS. Wot makes you tick an' that. You must be ambitious or sneaky... or somefin'?” He frowned at her. She didn't look either of those things. “Wot 'ouses woz your bruvvahs in?” He asked her curiously.

She looked so sad. Tom didn't have a clue what to do. He looked towards the staff table and then back at the girl, reaching out a hand to pat her shoulder in an awkward manner. “Well if you ain' brave enough, why d'you wannah be a Gryffindor?” He asked her quietly. “An', like, no offence, bu' maybe you should be gettin' to know yer own 'ousemates instead of 'idin' ovvah 'ere.” Although he really didn't want her to go. He was trying to be kind.. but he was in the same boat as her here. He knew NO ONE. :/

He placed the cupcake down, taking in the state of the cutlery for the first time. His ma would not approve of this.

Her eyes went back to the less than sanitary table settings and her nose wrinkled. "I do hope the house elves are alright..."

And with that, he sort of closed the conversation. Prefect Kurumi had a ton of people talking to her and so forth, so he let her focus on them; certainly there would be plenty of opportunities to chat with her later on this term.

Kurumi nodded, and blinked a bit as their conversation drew to a sudden close. Then again, she already felt like she was being pulled in a million different directions, so the gesture was kind of welcomed. "Hopefully I will see you in the common room later." And then she walked away, after another bow.

" You just present a great challenge to me because you are very, very intelligent" Wiliam smiled. " Go Gryffindor" William called out.

"Slytherin won Gobstones and Quidditch, so they had a lot of points added for that as well," Kurumi said with a slight shrug of the shoulders. Her cheeks flushed just a bit as he complimented her. "I just study hard. You are giving me too much credit."

Kurumi smiled, and it only brightened when he implied that things were all settled now. "I am glad to hear that," she nodded. "If anything starts to bother you again, feel free to come and talk to me." Hopefully she would be able to give some half decent advice.

He absentmindedly fidgeted with the front of his robes... until he remembered that Destiny had his badge...

Whoops..

He glanced down at the silverware. Why was everything dirty? How was he supposed to eat potatoes?

Kurumi's face brightened when she saw Carter had finally made his appearance at the table. She had heard rumors about him gaining a certain position and she had been dying to congratulate him. She rushed over to him, but her school shoes made a noise like squeaking tires when she saw that his robes were badgeless.

Open mouthed and finger pointing at the spot where the Quidditch captain pin should have been, Kurumi gawked at the seventh year for a few seconds. "So...the rumors AREN'T true?"

How disappointing.

Not sure I had been a proper one, but the Sorting Hat took a while deciding where to put me. Ravenclaw was mentioned...but that was discarded, as was Slytherin. Not sure what it was that made the hat tip in the direction of Gryffindor, but I am glad it did."

As August sat down on one of the long benches placed at the Gryffindor table, he eyed the utensils they were supposed to use to eat. "Ummm, who washed these?" he pushed his spoon and fork away from himself and switched them with a cleaner pair from a empty seat across from him. There that was better.

Now he just needed to meet some new Gryffindor friends. Out of the few he had met over in Diagon Alley, none of them were in the house he was just sorted into.

Coming to another part of the Gryffindor table, Kurumi was just in time to see another new lion joining the pride - but this one didn't exactly look like a first year.

"Hello, welcome to Gryffindor," she smiled. "My name is Kurumi." Her smile faded when she saw that he was playing with the silverware. "That would be the house elves...and they are usually very concerned with things being clean. The kitchens are always spotless whenever I go in there..." Concern was written all over her face. What if something had happened to Twinkle and the other house elves? "I think Scourgify will help take care of the problem though." Not that she had tried it herself just yet.

"Yes, it is actually American Indian. My dad was indian. My owl has part of my name too. Thank you." Ivan grabbed one and tried it. They were delicious."You are right they are delic. Thank you so much. So what are you looking forward to." Ivan asked while going for the basket once more.

He should have just let her choke him rather than give it up.

"Yeah. I am. I just haven't really gotten used to it yet."

Adrianna giggled. "Is it really shiny?" she asked him, wondering if she would ever have a friend that she could steal shiny things from. It sounded like such fun.

"Well, you have a whole YEAR! There's plenty of time!" she told him with a broad grin. "What position do you play?" she asked, wondering what else she could learn about Quidditch, since this guy seemed to be a pro.

"Are you okay? Is something wrong?" she asked him, wondering what had made him make such a strange face.

Adrianna looked away from the ceiling and over to a boy. She gave him a smile as he said that he was a first year- same year as her! "Hi!" she said with a warm smile. "I'm Adrianna, I'm a Gryffindor first year as well," she told him. Finally, someone her own age!

Adrianna jumped as a voice interrupted her thought about the ceiling. "The ceiling... it's fantastic!" she told the older boy with a smile. She looked down, slightly embarrassed that he had been able to tell that so easily. "That obvious, huh?" she said, managing a small smile. "Adrianna," she told him with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you William. I know! I can't wait to try all of it!" she said, looking over at the food. "What do you recommend?"

"Yes, the ceiling is fantastic" William agreed with Adrianna." No, I thought you might be in at least your third term" William explained to Adrianna. " Nice to meet you Adrianna" Willaim smiled. " Yes. all the food is good and right now I reccomend the chicken, red potatos, stringbeans and the berry pie" William said to Adrianna.

And speaking of the stubby legged feline.

"He tried to pee on someone in the prefect compartment," Kurumi sighed, hanging her head slightly. She knew a certain Gryffindor that deserved the fate almost as much as the Hufflepuff boy did. "He is in the common room round, reacquainting himself with his realm." King of the Gryffindors after all.

Lauren's jaw dropped, hearing about Walnut's incident and that she was in the prefect's compartment. She didn't know much about Hogwarts, but she knew what a prefect was. Her mother had been one... "He what?! Is this a thing he does often? Do I need to be concerned about being peed on?!" she exclaimed in shock. "Oh, and prefect?" Lauren added, "Is that what the badge is for? Congratulations!" she grinned broadly at her friend.

Lions, Caroline is here anyone? VM me! :D

Caroline decided that she go sit around with some of the Gryffindors. Maybe she'd make a few new friends, chat with some old ones, and annoy some first years. She had had stayed away from the Gryffindor table at the end of term feast. But it was the first table she went to after leaving her own. It was first place she wanted to go, of course. She just hopped that things would get to weird with what happened on the train, and over the summer. All she knew was that she really needed to think, about a lot things. She did enjoy spending a bit of time with Carter on the train. It had all felt surreal like nothing in the past few months had changed. But they had, a lot. She was kind of seeing someone else. And he had spent the whole summer with her cousin Mariyln which she didn't find out about until after she and Carter's little run it by the food trolley. But what could she say she didn't have much room to talk, she'd spent most of the summer with Jai.

She found a place to sit looked around there were actually a lot of new or first year Gryffindors this term, mostly younger ones. She sat down with a sigh. Still a bit annoyed over having to clean her own silverware. What it the name of Merlin did the house elves do all summer? Apparently not polishing the silverware. She had hers that she had cleaned by herself in her pocket no way she was letting these babies out of her sight. What did those house elves do? Take a vacation over the summer. Caroline got this mental picture of house elves on a beach chair with sunglasses sipping a drink with a toothpick unbrella. She laughed to herself.

She sat down on the bench, mostly because it seemed rude not to when she'd scooted over. She sipped her ever-present apple juice, and looked around. She knew a couple Gryffies, but not many. So it was really pointless to look for people she knew. Much as she tried, she had never really made inter-house friendships. Seeing noone, she stood up again. "Well, I just wanted to make sure you were okay! Enjoy the feast!" She waved, and skipped her way back to the Ravenclaw table.

"Thanks," Aaron replied shyly. He thought about the girl he met on the train, mabey he'd see her again. He was glad to know that someone was helpful and kind to him. He glanced around the great hall at the other tables. The Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tables had students that looked simmilar to Gryffindor, but the Slytherin table was giving unfriendly looks to the Gryffindors.

Adam was about to take another sip of his water when he felt two hands slam rather forcefully into the back of his shoulders. The motion jumbled the goblet in his hand, the water within pouring out onto the table. Turning to look, but already knowing there was only one person that he'd met that showed this much enthusiasm, Adam gave Louisa a little smile.

"Yes, that I am," Adam said with a chuckle, moving over slightly so that there was room for Louisa to fit in. He hoped that Paulie didn't mind, but honestly Louisa didn't really take up much space on the bench. "Yeah...it looks like I won't be seeing the Ravenclaw Common Room after all," Adam said with a little frown. From what he heard people weren't allowed in the common rooms of houses that weren't their own. "I just hope you'll still be willing to associate yourself with a Gryffindor," Adam said, in a mock-concerned way.

Upon Louisa's comments about the silverware Adam picked up his spoon and looked at it. "I believe the word is rustic," Adam said with a little chuckle. "Perhaps they're just trying to make us feel like we're living in the castle during the time when it was first built and they used...rusty spoons," Adam said, setting the spoon down and giving Louisa a little smirk. Adam noted a vibe in Louisa that made him feel like maybe she was avoiding the Ravenclaw table.

"So...um...how are you doing?" Adam asked, lowering his voice incase she wanted to talk and didn't want all these random people overhearing. "Have you run into the pair yet?"

"But...we can't eat with these." She picked up a spoon...and SOMETHING brown and fuzzy fell from it and onto the table. "Help me?"

Gideon wasn't too close to the house-elves but he certainly didn't take them for granted. He made a face at the grime before looking back up at Kurumi. "Okay," he agreed with a nod. "Scorgify should work on it...wouldn't you think..." he mused, taking out his wand from his pocket with one hand while the other picked up one of his own utensils.

"Scorgify" Gideon cast careful to aim at the fork and nothing but seeing as it was a small item and he figured starting small was the best way. Thankfully the spell worked and the silver item was clean or at least a lot better. "One down...however many many more to go."

As Ariella sat down at the Gryffindor table, she noticed her fellow Quidditch friend Kurumi chatting to a few other students. Not wanting to interrupt, she waited until she was finished talking to say hi. "Hey Kurumi!" Ariella said with a grin. "How have you been?" She was overjoyed to be back at Hogwarts - finally away from her boring life at home and back to her friends who really understood her.

"Welcome to Gryffindor," she smiled with a bow. "My name is Kurumi, one of your prefects. If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask myself or Jai, the other Gryffindor prefect. I am sure he will be along soon."

"Thanks," Aaron replied shyly. He thought about the girl he met on the train, mabey he'd see her again. He was glad to know that someone was helpful and kind to him. He glanced around the great hall at the other tables. The Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tables had students that looked simmilar to Gryffindor, but the Slytherin table was giving unfriendly looks to the Gryffindors.[/QUOTE]

Josephine looked at the shy boy and smiled at him "Hi! I'm Josephine, this is my brother, Joseph" she gestured at her twin, who was sitting next to her "Are you excited for Hogwarts?"

"I think that will work," Kurumi nodded, noting some sort of congealed green goo on one of the knives. She didn't even want to think about what that might have been previously. "You can perform Scourgify, I'll back you up with Tergeo." She looked back at the goo. They were going to need more wand power if they were going to get the Gryffindor table back to the way she remembered it being during the opening feast. Especially if they hoped to get it done before Headmaster Tate's speech.

"Tergeo," she said and the green goo was removed. The knife was still dusty and, well, not fit for anyone to use. "If you would be so kind."

"Oh Hobbies? Well I really enjoy reading, and riding my bike with my friend Peter." he sighed, he hadn't forgotten about his friend, who was a Muggle and wouldn't be joining him for this school year like they had every single year since Kindergarden. But he had promised he would write to him. "I also really enjoy football or soccer, whichever you call it." he chuckled continuing to look around the massive hall.

"Nice to meet you Carter!" he nodded. This was his first older Gryffindor student encounter and it seemed to be going good. "I guess they can." he nodded, not really sure if they could himself but he wasn't about to tell the guy he had no idea what a House elf even looked liked. August had just heard another kid say that.

"So what year are you?" he was definately older, it would be good to be friends with an older kid in his house just in case he was ever lost, needed help, or.....couldn't find a lavatory.

"Oh well, maybe I will get to see one then!" he said his eyes growing wider as she spoke about all the things they did around the Castle. So they were like maids? That made their name make a little more sense. But he was really curious of what they looked like. Part of him imagined the little folks that helped out Santa at the North Pole but didn't want to get his hopes up.

"Oh..." Auggie was about to ask if she was a Muggleborn too but kind of figured she wasn't, the way she said it had been a long time ago, as if her parents didn't make her continue to go for some reason, she was younger than him. "Umm I think so. I got Gryffindor but I really don't know much about the houses to be honest."

At that moment he noticed the yellow and black on her school robes badge and tie and spoke excitedly. "Oh you are a Hufflepuff?! A met a girl in the bookshop named Sierra....uhh...Greingoth, that said I would make a perfect Hufflepuff!" he of course didn't get the negative connotation the snake had been implying about the house of the kindly badgers.

"Hello, welcome to Gryffindor," she smiled. "My name is Kurumi." Her smile faded when she saw that he was playing with the silverware. "[B]That would be the house elves...and they are usually very concerned with things being clean. What if something had happened to Twinkle and the other house elves? "I think Scourgify will help take care of the problem though." Not that she had tried it herself just yet.

Sunddenly another older student approached him, this one a girl. The one that was passing out the lion cookies from earlier. "Oh hi there. Kurumi? It's nice to meet you, I'm August Goldstein."

He followed her eyes back to the silverware, the center of this feast's attention it seemed. "Well it's good to hear that it's not a common theme for here." he chuckled nervously, if it was his mother would surely have a panic attack and send for him to come back home.

"Scorgify, really?" She mentioned this Scourgify and turned his head looking around the room. "Is he one of the Professors?" the boy asked pointing towards the Staff table. "Which one is he?"

"Alright...sounds like a plan," Gideon said with a nod, going to work on more of the items directly in front of him using the spell. Frowning as one scorgify wasn't enough to a particularly nasty spoon, he was about to add another but instead looked up as Kurumi asked for his assistance.

"Certainly m'lady," he said taking the knife from her and handing her the spoon in exchange. The fourth year nodding politely at the other girl and boy who came up to talk to Kurumi, but remaining silent as at least the girl seemed willing to help. The boy seemed a bit clueless.

"Scorgify!" he cast on the knife this time it came out better so the boy placed it back on the table near his companion. Maybe now the other Gryffindor boy would understand what Kurumi meant by the word. "Guess some might need both or a double dose."

Adam was walking around the Gryffindor table an didn't see many people he knew. Then again, after being gone for a year, probably more than half of these people were second years he never had the chance to meet. But it was odd seeing the old faces, new faces,it was odd being back at home for him.

Finally, after scanning the sea of red an gold colored robes he spotted one set of robes that stuck out from the others.A silver an green one.At first he hoped it wasn't that girl..But,as he strode closer he realized it wasn't,but rather Caroline.

He made his way to her, standing behind her so that she had no clue whom he was an then tapped her shoulder.

Nodding to the second year as she set to helping, Kurumi's attention was back on the boy. "Nice to meet you too, August," she nodded. She had the urge to ask him if he had been born in the month of August, but Kurumi wasn't sure she wanted to know if there was another reason for it. Maybe get into the too much information zone?

Kurumi found herself blinking. Professor Scourgify? Well, she didn't know everyone at the staff table, so she supposed that it WAS possible to share a name with the Cleaning Spell. Hopefully, if that was the case, it wasn't an ironic one and they were a complete slob. "Not...exactly," Kurumi giggled. "Scourify is a spell. It cleans things, but itsn't too good against liquids. There is another spell for that." But this probably wasn't making much sense to him. "You...aren't too familiar with magic, are you?" That much was obvious, and it was adorable. "Don't worry, I didn't know anything when I came."

She picked up a plate with...erm...something on it.

"Want to give it a try? The plate can't get any worse than it already is." In fact, even if it broke in half that would be an improvement.

Then her attention turned to Gideon as he cast the spell to clean the eating utensil in her hand. Her cheeks flushed. M'lady? Kurumi's cheeks burned a bit brighter repeating the word in her head.

"Y-Y-Yeah..." she said, looking back at the state of the Gryffindor table. At least they were making a small dent in the disaster, right?

brave-at-heart-xo 09-03-2011 02:41 AM

anyone? (:

Adelyn wandered over to the Gryffindor table, ready to join her House once again for the start of the year feast. She looked around, trying to spot someone that she knew, or hoping to meet some new people. After not finding anyone, she found an empty seat on the bench, and sat down, looking around for someone to talk to.

BanaBatGirl 09-03-2011 02:42 AM

The closer she got to the Gryffindor table, the less she saw of Paulie. Or what she had thought she had seen of him. Frowning as she lost sight of her Lemonade Knight completely, Tori dropped onto the nearest open bench with a sigh.

"So the silverware's dirty over here too, huh," she sniffled a little, picking up a fork and dropping it back onto the table with a clatter. "Laaaaaaaaaame."

Jai spotted Caroline at the Gryffindor table. He headed over to her and sat next to her. "This is an interesting seating arrangement. So are you ready for this year?" he asked as he turned to her.

He wasn't sure why but he somehow felt a shift. he couldn't explain it but things were a bit up in the air between the two of them since there trip to Africa during the summer. He wanted to know what exactly was going on but he knew better than to push her.

He had made a promise to her and intended to keep it.
