Jordan considered this, "Well I think I'd be like a chameleon sort of thing cos I change my hair colour a lot!" he laughed. "I'd prefer if you could choose though!"

"That might as well happen to me, " Charles agreed nodding and eyeing the armchairs wistfully. The common room was always the best place to spend leisure time, you got entertained just looking around at everyone going about their usual stuff. Charles knew that he should be doing something useful now that he had time, but he just couldn't get up and besides, sitting here and getting to know more Gryffindors was easier. And much more productive

"Nice to meet you Paulie, I'm Charles." Charles extended his hand.



"What?" Charles asked, looking at her with his eyes wide open. He's never heard of ANY dragons in Gringotts! He realised a minute too late that it might be some well known fact that he had neglected to learn about, and that it would be highly embarrasing to appear ill-informed on the subject but he had let the question escape him. "I mean, er .. really? There had been a dragon there?" He asked her, cocking his head to one side.

"Hmm .." He said, pondering her answer. It made sense, at least in his brain but he still couldn't quite comprehend how some people would have interest in things like dragons. Especially tender-looking girls. Yet maybe it was one of those things in a person's nature, like in his case he liked ... pretty much everything that wasn't useful. xD "So there aren't any speacial things about dragons? Other than the immense strenght and the fire-breathing quality?" He added, grinning cheekily.

"I'm not bored, " Charles said earnestly. He has never known these information on dragons, and he was having fun! Maybe this was his 'type' of studying prefrence as Cherry used to call it, he liked to know stuff by talking to people, although he didn't quite like to think of it that way. "It's interesting, this stuff about dragons!" He nodded enthusiastically.

"Why thankyou!" Willow laughed and flashed him another. "Is it really! I can't wait! What's Ancient Runes like?" she asked. Willow had heard about it from her brother and was very curious. "Well, I havn't really done much yet, to tell you the truth. Mostly just talk to people and make new friends. Maybe you could show me what you do for fun?!" Willow raised one eyebrow at him, almost challenging him in a way.


"Oh, that's to bad. Ah yeah, I have a few!" she laughed. "Let's see, there's my cat, dog, horse, rabbit, and my owl, Turtle!" Before Chris could ask why in the world her owl was called Turtle, she quickly explained. "My younger sister gave me Turtle as a birthday present, but she'd only give it to me if she got to name it!" she laughed, rolling her eyes. "Do you have any siblings?"




"Well, if they are, I'll try to 'charm' them before we care for them!" she joked, fluttering her eyelashes! Though she too, was a bit nervous about the types of creatures they were going to be studying. "Yeah, I have a few!" she laughed. "I have a cat, dog, horse, rabbit, and my owl, Turtle." Seeing Emma's confsed face, she explained. "My younger sister Bobbie gave me Turtle as a birthday present a few years ago, but she'd only let me have him if she got to name it!" she giggled. "You're welcome to come over in the holdays if you wish to meet them. They are all very welcoming and love new people!"

"What? Fall asleep all over the place?" Emma was stunned. She had been sure no one else did such weird things. Glad that she found someone just as silly as her she went on.
"My mom always says that I could fall asleep while bungee jumping if I was tired enough." She chuckled, grateful that Chris too was muggle born and knew what she was talking about. Maybe they had more in common?
"Do you have any other hobbies?" She joked.

Emma laughed, she was sure Willow could charm herself out of anything."Wow!" She exclaimed in awe. "You practically live in a zoo! It took my sister and I years of pleading to finally get Cotton." Technically Cotton the cat was both hers and her sisters, but her sister had kindly allowed her to take Cotton to Hogwarts with her to keep her company. Dreaming on, she wondered allowed. "Do you think we'll get to see unicorns? I've read all about them, I just can't believe they're actually real!"

Kurumi jumped a bit at his surprised outburst. Her eyes locked on his and she tried to contain the giggles that were trying to break free. The expression on his face reminded her of Walnut when he had first seen snow: utter shock. "An Ukrainian Ironbelly to be exact," she said with a slight nod. Poor thing had been terribly mistreated. "You may be more familiar with it as the dragon that the Golden Trio used to escape from Gringotts." She had only read about that while reading about dragons really. Might not have known that otherwise.

But then Kurumi go to thinking. Here she had been babbling on and on about dragons and a bit of wizarding history, but she knew almost nothing about Charles' background - other than he shared the same name as her father. Whether that was a good thing or a bad thing was yet to be determined. "Well, you now know that I am, perhaps, a bit obsessive with dragons, but I know very little about you," she said with only the slightest bit of pout. "So...tell me something about yourself? Do you have a favorite magical creature?" Although, she should probably avoid that subject. "Any hidden talents?"

Willow's eyes lit up! "Oh I hope so too! They're so beautiful! And they prefer girls over boys too!" she laughed. "I wonder what else we'll be studying?"

Jordan noticed the Gryffindor prefect across the common room, he decided to sat hello, it had ended kind of abruptly the last time they had spoken. "Hey Kurumi!" he smiled at her.

Kurumi glanced over her shoulder when she heard her name. "Jordan, hey," she smiled in return. "How have you been? You feeling all adjusted to Hogwarts life?" Hopefully he was and he wasn't having any...guy problems. Kurumi wouldn't be good at handling those.

"Yeah it was a bit hard at first!" he smiled, "But its great!" he had seen her accidental display of metamorphing during transfiguration. He was pleased to know that there was another person like him around here. "Lesson's caught me off guard slightly though, they're more challenging than expected!"

"I'm glad to hear that," she smiled. "If it makes you feel any better, they are still catching me off guard." Especially this term. Spells that just wouldn't work on her and losing her first house points EVER. It had certainly been a rough first month for her and she was a fourth year, she could only imagine how difficult it must be for a first year dealing with all these changes. "Come on over and sit down." No sense in standing if they were going to talk.

"Wow! That's a lot,"Chris said in astonishment, he had always wanted a pet... "What made your sister pick that name?" Chris said, his curiosity piqued. "No, I don't have any siblings, it's just me..." he said, answering Willows question.

"Yeah, once I was so tired I fell asleep standing up! Although, when I hit the ground it woke me up..." Chris said to Emma. "I like to draw, does that count as a hobby?" he said, hoping it did, he really didn't do many other things. "What about you? Do you have any hobbies?"

Jordan smiled as he sat down, "Thanks. I taught myself some spells, but I can't seem to do the ones we learn in lessons! It's annoying," he bristled. "Did you find that happened to you at all?" he asked.

Maxwell was happy to see Josephine's eyes change color. "What is it, Josie? Whatever it is You can tell me." He said as He hugged Her back.

"I'd like to be something normal like a bird or a forest animal, so i can sneak around and no one would know it was me." Maxwell had a sneaky little laugh.

"Yeah, tell me about it!" Willow smiled. "You're always welcome to come over in the holidays and say hello if you like!" she offered. Willow was sure her parents wouldn't mind, after all, they would be glad she was making friends! "I have no idea why she named him Turtle. She's a bit strange, but I love her all the same!" she laughed. "Mind you, she was only 8 when she gave him to me! Did you bring a pet, or familier rather, to Hogwarts?" Willow asked. She hoped Chris wasn't getting bored by all these questions!!

Jordan smiled, "That would be good!" he nodded. "Legend has it that my great-grandfather could turn into a giant tortoise!" he laughed. "He wasn't pleased about it at all!"

"I struggle with spells all the time," she laughed, although her mind instantly went to those from Transfiguration. "Usually, whenever I am trying a new spell I end up melting the object. I made a real mess out of a pocket watch in my second term."

Yes, she was dancing around a subject that she really wanted to discuss, but she would rather discuss it with Professor Magnus. She would be the one who would know the most about the situation, right?

Josephine smiled and sat down again "What? Oh! Nothing! D-don't woorry about it!"

Jordan smiled, "I don't melt stuff as much as I accidently set fire to things! Fire was the first thing that showed as my magical abilites! Something firey pops up around me sometime or another!" he laughed.

"Erm... Yeah" Tyler took a step backwards just to examine Rose, more so to try and see what really was going on. He knew Nessie, he knew her well and he knew she wouldn't beat somebody up, maybe hit them if they got angry, big maybe. But she would never beat somebody up. Then he thought of something "okay then, what day did it happen, what time, and where?" he asked.

"Fire? I bet that was a surprise to your family," Kurumi giggled softly. Merlin was she glad that her first show of magical ability hadn't been fire. Her father had always told her that her first show of ability had been when she made a spoon disappear from her brother's hand and he had spilled cereal all over himself. Now...she knew a bit differently.

Jordan smiled, "Well it was quite a shock to my brothers when their hair suddenly caught fire one day!" he laughed. "My mum was so proud!" he remembered the glint of pride in her eyes whilst his father shout at him.

Kurumi's eyes widened a bit. That certainly would be a shock if your hair suddenly caught on fire. "I take it your mother is a witch?" she asked softly, with a slight hint of sadness in her tone. "Must be nice having a parent feel proud for showing signs of magic. All talk of it was forbidden in my home." And had resulted in a life of lies. "Didn't even know that what I could do was...normal...until two weeks before my first term started."

"Yeah mums a witch, but she had to leave when I was 8." he smiled sadly. "My dad and brothers are all muggles, so they tried to beat the magic out of me, they blamed me for why mum left..." he trailed off. "I hated it without her."
"I ran away so many times, but I couldn't help but go back for my mum. She was so proud of me, I owed it to her;" he told Kurumi.
"She sent me a note, when I got my Hogwarts letter, she said she would come back and help me get ready for Hogwarts, she took me to the Hogwarts express and I haven't heard from her since." he missed his mum, but he was staying with friends over the holidays so that he didn't have to go home.

" You are very welcome" William told Willow. " Yes. my cousin Rex worked with some of the magical creatures and he liked it" William said to Willow. "Anncient Runes shows how others commmunicated early by using symbols" Willaim explained to Willow."We should go swimming, clomb a tree into the treehouse anbd hang out at the Whomping Willow for fun" Willaim smiled.

Adam gave Kurumi a little smile. "I supposed muggles always say to picture the person in their underwear, but personally I find that to just be awkward." Personally Adam didn't really understand why someone thought that that would be a good way to come your nerves. Perhaps if you found people in their underwear comical then the strategy would work, but personally Adam didn't find people in their underwear to be all that amusing.

Adam gave Kurumi an empathetic little frown. "I've heard that those things can make you sick...although it's not really all that surprising. Regrowing bones doesn't sound like it's the easiest thing for your body to do..." In fact the human problem probably wasn't programed to rebuild bones which was probably why they had invented the potion in the first place. Adam raised his eyebrows slightly..."She volunteered you?" Adam asked, trying to imagine being forced by the woman to lose a bone. Ehh..."Well...it was a new experience I'm sure, and not many people get to say they've had their bone regenerated," Adam said with a small smile, trying to put an optimistic spin on the whole thing.

Adam looked down at JB, a small smile on his face when something finally dawned on him. "Oh! I completely forgot!" Adam jumped out of his chair, alarming JB who had been enjoying the attention from Kurumi. "I was supposed to go get this package with this nutrition bone I am supposed to give him that helps keep dogs healthy...I better go get that now before I forget again. I'll talk to you later Kurumi!" And with that Adam was heading out of the common room, JB bounding along beside him happily.
