The Practice Pitch When not in use for games, the Quidditch Pitch is open for students to practice their Quidditch skills before attending team tryouts, and it's also open for students to practice their flying skills (make sure you get a broom from the Broomshed!) Once the Quidditch season officially begins, team captains can 'book the field' with Professor Vindictus for practice and non-team members can watch practices occur. When practices aren't in session, the pitch is open for flying practice. Note: This thread is for IC role playing and not chatter. All SS rules apply in this thread. |
Daisy ran onto the pitch with her broom. It was MASSIVE - and completly deserted. 'I'm looking forward to flying round this,' Daisy said to herself happily. Flying round the countryside near her village had been great fun, but Daisy had been longing to fly round a proper quidditch pitch, like the ones in real matches. She clambered onto her broom, which was new and had only been flown twice and looked up. The earliness of the day meant there wasn't much weather at all. Kicking off, Daisy soared into the air. The feeling of freedom was always amazing for Daisy, a broom was a place where she could get away from all the stress of her life and just soar straight into the skies. Keeping herself as close to the edge of the pitch as possible without leaving it, Daisy flew a couple of laps. 'Woooaaahh,' she yelled, feeling a bit stupid, but as nobody was around, not too embarassed. Daisy had a great view from up here, the mountains and the Hogwarts castle looked amazing. She could see a couple of people down by the lake and the whomping willow. This was seriously worth getting up early for.... |
Rose walked onto the pitch, wondering what it would look like. It was huge! Rose hadn't flown in front of any wizards before so was happy that it was empty. Rose brought a broomstick and her plastic ball from home out and got onto it. She kicked her feet of the ground and up she went! She could feel the wind whizzing past her as she chucked her ball and flew after it. She had to practice for the tryouts! |
Quote:
Rose had started practising with a muggle ball, which was a good idea, though Daisy, except a muggle ball wouldn't really match up to a bludger, so there would be no point in Daisy trying it. She zoomed round the pitch a couple more times, the wind whipping through her short hair, when an idea came to her head. Daisy flew to the ground and practiacally jumped off her broom, which lay hovering in the air, waiting for her to remount. Daisy ran to her bag and took out her beaters club, this was a special trick of Daisy's - she was ambidextrous - so she could hold the club well in either hand. This would suprise the opposing team when they aimed bludgers at her. Daisy ran back to her broom and mounted, the club still in her right hand. She thought it best to only keep it shown in one hand until a match, especially with members of other houses around. Seconds later, Daisy was back in the air again, getting used to the feeling of flying one-handed, which she could of course already do, but needed getting used to on this new broom. She grinned at Rose, pretending to aim a heavy blow at her ball before continuing to zoom around the pitch, pretending it was a real match. |
Finlay was looking forward to the quidditch season. Ravenclaw was the reigning champions, and he couldn't wait to get back on the pitch. This was why he'd asked Ivan if he wanted to come practice with him. It would be interesting. He wasn't feeling that rusty either really, not since he'd had the trials for the montrose magpies a few weeks before term had started. Finn knew though that that meant nothing though. The weather had been nice and clear then, but he knew the weather would get worse, and such. They would need all the practice they could get. Holding his broom Finn wandered along to the practice pitch. There were a few people already here. Mmm. This would be interesting. Ivan didnt' seem to be here yet though. Carefully he put his broom down on the floor, and pulled his robes off. Didn't really need to be flying in them just now, it wasn't that cold yet. Now...he just needed to wait for Ivan to arrive. |
Quote:
"Thanks for helping me," he said as he set his broom on the ground and looked around at the couple of people flying. "So.....what are we doing to get started?" |
Quote:
"We could do a few laps of the pitch...?" He asked with a shrug. Warm up a little? It would give him a chance to see how good Ivan was. Mmm. That was a very good idea. |
Quote:
Nodding Ivan picked up his broom and stared at it for a moment. Smirking slightly he fiddled with it and threw his leg across it. He was goign to have some fun with Finn first. Yup. "Umm...how do you make this thing go up?" he asked sounding honest and then pushed off the ground slightly. Acting scared he gripped tightly and made the broom go forward slightly. "IT's MOVING!!!!" he yelled sounding like a very frightened first year on a broom for the first time. Well it could be believable since he didn't like to get dirty at all. Even James didn't know he'd been practicing with Miles this summer. |
Quote:
He burst out laughing when Ivan yelled. "Duddee!" He shook his head. That was not cool. Not at all. "Are you seriously scared?" He stared at Ivan. "If you are....why on earth are you trying out?" Maybe it wasn't cool if they all got on the team.... |
Laila! After borrowing a school broom from the broomshed, Vashti walked onto the pitch, a big grin on her face. It felt so good to be standing there, a broom in her hand, watching a few other students mingle and fly around the pitch. She'd be up there in the air soon too, but right now, she had to wait for Louisa. It was time for the third year to try out her new broom and practice flying on it. |
Hugo walked up to the pitch with his broom in his hand. Right. He had signed up for the Quidditch try-outs. Now he needed to practise. He got lost in the little carves in the wood of his broom, probably because he was so nervous because he would never make the team. Maybe he should try another sport. He sighed, looking down at his blue sweater and jeans. No. Quidditch was fun. He gripped his broom tight and put it between his legs and off he was. |
Chris walked to the broom covert and got a broom and a snitch and set it free. He went to catch it. It zoomed around but he eventually caught it in about 3 minutes. He got his new record. His dad was on the Gryffindor team so he has the blood in him for the skill. He just kept practicing for seeker then went to get the supplies for chasers. He just kept racing across the pitch and shooting it through the hoops. About 2 and half hours of practicing told him to go and get back to the common room. |
Quote:
And as soon as she was out, she froze. "My luck!" She grunted under her breath seeing all those students flying around confidently and.. actually laughing sometimes as they were up in the air... like really flying. Scanning the faces, she saw Vashti standing there her face bright with joy and Louisa had to think for two seconds about the reason of her joy before she got it. "Vashti!" She called waving at her friend and walking over to her, the fake smile of joy didn't reach her eyes. "Good weather for planes today." She said sarcastically. She was going to BE a plane in a few minutes...sort of. Glancing around at the couple of students on their brooms, she started to regret the practice. "Umm... don't you think we have to wait for the pitch to be...er.. kind of less crowded?" She said awkwardly, and in real there was only four students or so in there so the lame excuse probably wouldn't work with her friend.... but a girl can wish. |
Ahh home sweet home Quote:
She moved forward onto the Pitch and closed her eyes to inhale the smell of the Pitch. It had the slight bitter taste it always had during the beginning of the school year. But it was her favorite smell. Her lips curled into a smile and her fingers traced the outline of her broom. It was her broom. Now that she was a second year she could train, fly, and hopefully play on her own equipment. She had loved flying on the school's old Nimbus last year, but Selina's firebolt was her baby. It was her greatest weapon because she knew the broom inside and out. From the time she had first gotten her broom it had become her most prized possession, so it was in the finest condition. Then her eyes finally lifted to look up and out at the field. It was just as she had remembered it. That sense of familarity gave Selina a feeling of warmth that rushed all up her bones until she shuttered it out through her limbs. Taking a deep breath in Selina mounted her broom... and was off fast through the air. |
Quote:
Flash. Whoa. Where was she? Hugo pulled his Firebolt up from the dive he was about to do and looked in the sky. There was someone. Wow. She was fast. But Hugo had a fast broom too. It had been collecting dust last term but now he would use it! He floated around for a bit, looked down at his broom and flew off with a speed Hugo had never used before on this broom. WOW. He approached Selina. This was awesome. As he felt the wind through his hair, he looked at her as he almost flew next to her. This was probably really slow for Selina. But still. Awesomeness. "Hello," he yelled whilst approaching her. |
Quote:
"And to answer your question I'm doing this to impress Dora." And the ONLY reason he was telling Finn this was so he wouldn't turn around and find him snogging her. He might be his friend but he still didn't fully trust him. |
Arabella-Marie walked into the practice pitch with her broom in hand she was looking forward to getting back into the air and practicing some sprints in preparation for tryouts |
Toby didn't want that anyone saw him. He looked at the people who were practicing. The girl who was practicing some sprints looked a bit like an idiot, he tought. He walked trough the Pitch, but he didn't have a broom with him, so he couldn't do anything. |
Quote:
|
Arabella-Marie got on her broom and touched off the ground and raced to the hoops at the bottom of the pitch and stopped she was still a bit rusty after the summer league had finished she hadnt been on a broom since then |
Alex didn't want to talk to anyone, he didn't want to think about anyone. All he wanted to was to get on his broom. As soon as the Feast was over, he'd gotten his broom and hurried over there. Well, hurried was an exaggeration. It had taken him half an hour to get to the Common Room. And another thirty minutes to get to the pitch. He was seriously broken. He couldn't believe he'd lost everything in such a short time. He'd drifted apart with Fee, he barely spoke to Emma, his girlfriend and his best friend were... He swallowed and picked up his pace to go stand on the pitch. Clearing all his thoughts, forcing Ellie and Chandler out of his mind he took a minute to look around him. He didn't see the people already in the air, all he saw was the pitch, the pillars and the stands. Alex was back, although he needed to get back to practise if he would be able to get on the Slytherin Quidditch team another term. He mounted the broom with a determined expression and kicked off the ground. No thoughts, just flying. |
lame post, sorry -_______- Quote:
|
Quote:
Then Selina realized Hugo wad practicing and gasped. She leaned off her broom and smacked him on the shoulder, "Why didn't you tell me you were trying out for Quidditch." |
Quote:
Smack. On the shoulder. Balance. Hugo almost made a little loop but thankfully, he could stop himself. "Well, I like to not tell people about the things where I'm not quite certain of, so that if I fail, noone will know," he said, nodding. That was quite an awkward thing to say, but it was true. |
SHH! Jacob's Not Here! Jacob had the intention of an early rise, and the ability to get some practice into his routine before his more captain-like duties starting kicking in. And that was close... he'd already taken a look at the sign-up sheets... there was nothing funny about that. He'd sneaked a peak at the other sign-up sheets and it told him, he'd have to beat his team extra hard to win this term. Beat them, and make sure he looked good for the scouts. But when Jacob reached the pitch, he saw that he wasn't the first. The Pitch was extremely crowded, and he didn't want to answer any questions, so Jacob tip-toed in the shadows, and made his way up the stands. He'd watch and wait for there to be a lot more room... this was good. He'd have a first impression of a lot of peoples flying skills. He saw a few people from last years teams, and try-outs. Maybe he'd summon some popcorn from the kitchens. Or request a House-elf to bring some to him. Oh how much he missed this... an elf servant and a kitchen that was always open to him. |
Arabella-Marie turned on her broom and raced down the pitch again to the opposite hoops at the other end of the pitch and stopped when she got there she was short of breath but she knew that she had to keep practicing if she was to make the team |
Quote:
But Louisa showed up before she actually got the chance. Probably a good thing because once she got on a broom, Vashti wouldn't be getting off any time soon, which probably wouldn't help Louisa all that much. She was smiling as she turned toward Louisa - and faltered at the sight of the treatment of the broom. "Don't just drag it around like that!" she said, frowning. "That's completely disrespectful." Brooms ought to be treated with care, otherwise they wouldn't work very well. Maybe that was why Louisa had been having trouble before. Vashti nodded at the good weather comment. It was part of the reason why she'd suggested they start practicing today; it wouldn't be very wise to start teaching someone to fly in bad weather. Teaching in an immensely crowded area wasn't wise either - which was why she was glad there weren't too many people flying around at the moment. "No, it's really not that crowded," she replied with a shake of her head. But, after a moment's pause, she added, "Y'know, if you don't want to practice, that's fine. Just let me know now because this won't go well at all if I have to force you." |
Answer to roleplay practcing with William William got on his broom. He has the Nimbus 2000. He will be trying out for kepper. He pretends the aufllle is coming at him. He zooms in front of it and then cathes it. He does this several times on both sides. |
Quote:
Daichi stood in the middle of the pitch, a school broom in his hand and he gulped. Flying couldn't be so difficult right? He had seen tons of games together with his big brother. He just needed to do what they did. He mounted the broom while biting his lower lip. Ok Daichi just keep your breathing normal and everthing is going to be okay. He slowly kicked his feet off the ground and he soared up in the sky. "WAAAAAAH!" He yelled as he flew straight to a boy ..or girl? He didn't know. "WATCH OOOUUUUT!" |
Quote:
He was just about to turn his head around to see who was going to get hit when something hit him instead. ... Great. The collision caught him off balance and he struggled with his broom to keep it steady in the air and not falling off. Falling from that height down on the ground wasn't something he normally did. Well, apart from on the matches when he needed to make a goal or something. He couldn't afford breaking something right before tryouts. "Hey!" he said as soon as he'd gotten control over his broom again. He glared at the person who had almost knocked him off his broom, before he saw who it was. DUCKLES! His expression immediatley softened when he recognized the little firstie and he flew a bit closer. "Call out a little sooner, next time deal?" he sighed. "You alright?" |
Quote:
Daichi gulped as he watched how the boy flew closer. Prayed that he wouldn't hit him. But when he came closer he saw who it is and sighed in relief. Alex would't hurt him, right? "I-i-i'm reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyy sorry!" He called out and bowed his head multiple times. Daichi nodded his head, yes he was fine.. Even if he had fallen off his broom and had broken his arm he would say he was fine. Anything! That would keep him away from the Hospital Wing. Surprisingly, now that he had calmed down, Daichi noticed that he was actually hovering above the ground. "Look! I can fly~!" he said cheerfully but then made a movement that the broom flew forwards a bit and he grabbed the broom with a startled expression again. |
Quote:
"Guess we thought alike..." Simon mused turning to glance as a flyer came past the two of them. Again he added to himself but at least it wasn't a class...no need to distract them at risk the trouble of Vindictus. |
Quote:
Then again, he didn't disapprove, of course the people would come to HIS team for private lessons. They were the best after all. Jacobs head turned in the direction of another captain. Simon, and himself seemed to always end up here at the same time. "It seems that way." he said, but Jacobs eyes landed on the broom in the boys hand. A small smile crept across his face. "I don't know bout you, but This is beginning to bore me" and he grabbed his broom, got up, and climbed onto the rail of the stands. With a quick glance at Simon, Jacob jumped from the stands. After a few split seconds of free-fall, Jacob saddled the broom, and mere feet from the ground, Jacob pulled up and flew back up to see Simon. "Come on, Bennett!" he shouted. "Lets see what you've really got!" Jacobs smile only grew bigger. One on One. Captain against Captain. |
Quote:
"You're on Blunt," Simon yelled back in acceptance, the seventh year climbing up on the railing himself with his broom in hand. He smoothly mounted in one swift action before he took off to meet the Ravenclaw in the air. |
Kyle had been flying a bit, upon seeing Simon and Jacob having a fly off. She couldn't help but smirk slightly - even though she was trying for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team - she just wanted somehow for Simon to win. Still, she couldn't help but frown as he climbed onto the railing - having a friend in the hospital wing would not be a great way to start the term. Still, she climbed up to the top of the stands and watched. Tugging her sweater and adjusting it the girl decided to watch how the race went. She'd tell him congratulations or better luck next time later. |
Quote:
He gave a small laugh as the boy simply took off. "can't make this a show?" he asked and pointed at the other students, "you're supposed to be captain, dangerous and daring. Showing off goes hand in hand with that. But whatever." he taunted, his smile returning. Yup, a nice good ol' fashioned race. And he was the one being challenged so " choose your course" he said and waited to see how the boy wanted to do this. |
Quote:
"Oh if you want to make it a show we can make it a show," he remarked moving closer to look him straight in the eye. "Just didn't want to show you up on the first try," he added returning the taunt before considering his options he had. "How about a figure 8 around the pitch weaving between the stand towers and students. We can even thread the center hoops, jumping from your broom while the broom goes through the hoop and you go over it... If you want a challenge." |
Quote:
"I am not a quitter, Vashti." She seemed to say that a lot to this particular friend. Without thinking further about the reason, she threw the broom next to her on the ground and breathed in deeply. "So... what do we do first?" Louisa had her hands on her hips. She wasn't in her school robes, but was wearing a grey bluish jeans, a light blue T-shirt and a half-zipped grey jacket. She thought about bringing a helmet but decided against it at the last minute; First she didn't know where to find one, and second Vashti could die laughing and Louisa would be the reason. |
Daisy ran onto the Quidditch pitch again, she had enjoyed yesterday so much, she was going to be flying a lot. Grabbing her broom, and her beaters club, she pushed off. The wind whipped through her hair as she soared through the morning sunshine. There were quite a few people around now, so Daisy thought she better be best not to yell at the top of her voice, as she usually did. She scanned the pitch for any hufflepuffs, maybe if they had put their name down for the team, she could practice with them..... |
As a member of an elite family, many wonders what Aiden feels or how she would react having to use the school's old, hand-down broom. Unfortunately, her typical straight face leaves no clue for them to guess. Aiden mounts the broom, but still keeping her feet on the ground. She looks around the pitch as other students are practising for the tryouts while a lot of first years (mostly muggle-borns) are still learning how to fly a broom. "Hope no one will hit the goal posts," muttered Aiden before kicking off the ground, soaring to sky and fly all around the pitch supplied with only her mere experiences as she trains her flying ability. |
Quote:
Oooh. To impress a girl? Finlay laughed, shaking his head. "Good thing she didn't see your act then...?" Finn suggested with a laugh, before he flew off around the pitch. |

MERLIN'S LIME GREEN STOCKINGS o_____O Why had Kurumi talked herself into this? She was far from being the top flyer in her year, let alone a mediocre one, so why had she allowed Selina, and partially Simon, to talk her into trying out for the Gryffindor house team? Well, she knew one of the largest reasons why the thought had intrigued her, and THAT had everything to do with a certain someone who had disappeared from her life. Looking up at the other students flying around on their brooms, Kurumi gripped tightly to the one she had borrowed from the broom shed and took several looooooooooooong and deep breaths. Okay Kurumi, you can do this...just like over the summer at Selina's home. Just mount your broom, thing happy thoughts, sprinkle some pixie dust, and then she would fly. No...that wasn't right. She was getting herself confused with one of those non-magical films she had watched as a young child. She really ought to slap herself across the face for that one. It had to be te nerves talking...just the nerves. Refocusing herself now, Kurumi straddled her broom, planted her feet firmly on the ground, looked straight up, and picked a single cloud in the sky that would serve as her focus point for a slow and leisurely accent. "Here goes nothing..." she whispered as she kicked off the ground. |
Quote:
In mid-air, she could see Hogwarts very clearly. The castle, the lake, and even the greenhouses were in sight when she was 15 feet above the ground. Then, she spotted her fellow Hufflepuff, Daisy. "Hey! You want to play? I'm trying-out for chaser or seeker." |
Quote:
"Are you all right?" she asks, looking at the witch questioningly. |
Arabella-Marie got a ball out of her pocket and was thinking that she would maybe practice her chasing skills but with the pitch being quite busy she didnt want to hurt any of the students |
Quote:
Penny walked onto the Quidditch pitch right after breakfast "Ah what a perfect way to spend a Sunday" she thought.... Throwing her leg over one of the school brooms, she kicked off from the ground, hard.. It was such an amazing feeling, wind blowing through her long hair... and the view was spectacular... after flying a lap of the pitch she looked around to see if any more of her housemates were trying out for the team too - and then she spotted Janice and Daisy - her roommates !!! Flying over to them, she asked "Hi Daisy, hey Janice - could I join you girls in a practice...I'm gonna be trying out for seeker or chaser?" |
Quote:
"Yes, you're fly-" then he watched the boy almost falling off before steading the broom again. "-ing." he finished. Alex flew up to him, circled around the boy once before stopping in front of him again. "What made you jump up on the broom?" he asked curiously. |
Quote:
"You can't think like that ever. I mean seriously, promise me you won't? The worst thing in the world is to doubt yourself. So many people will doubt you for you. You should be your biggest fan, that way when people ever think about judging you they can never say he didn't give it his all and that he doesn't just push over." SPOILER!!: Jewish/Jewel Selina could not help notice a figure kicking off the ground and moving toward Hugo and herself. As she watched the figure that was still fuzzy to her at this height she could tell how the figure's form was very similar to her father's. The figure moved in a similar manner and motion as her Dad had always and continued to move while in the air. It was also Selina's form now that she thought about it. Her father had taught her how to fly from the time she was three so his form was now hers with a few alterations that Selina used because she was so tiny. Suddenly the figure was close enough to be clear to her eyes. It suddenly made sense as to why the form was so well trained and practiced in her father's style. Selina had taught this very style to the person over the summer, "Hey Kurumi." |
Quote:
"I.. i signed in for the quidditch team" he began and with a soft whisper he added. "withouth thinking". Daichi looked up again after Alex had circled around him and came to a halt in front of him. "But i REALLY want to be on the team! i have seen so many matches with my big brother and i'm going to train and train and train until i can do it, but .. I had to leave Mr.Duckles somewhere else, i-i'm scared without it!" He needed his plushed duck! Maybe there was a spell which he could use , no let someone else do it, that would make Mr.Duckles be apart of the broom he was going to use? Like a decoration! Oh he had an brilliant mind! |
Quote:
"I-I-I'm alright," she said nodding her head slowly before taking a peek down. Oh....she was still only about three feet off the ground. He he he... Quote:
"H-H-Hello Selina," she whimpered leaning forward a bit on her broom. "L-L-Lovely weather we're having..." |
For Alex Cassie finally made it down to the pitch, duffle bag in hand, a rather very stylish duffle bag at that and her jogging shorts and trainers. Yes, she was not one to do anything without at least putting together a nice outfit to match the occasion. She was on a mission today though, she actually wanted to learn to fly, because well...Cassie Storm was going to be trying out for the hufflepuff team. She knew she could do it once she got the basics down pat. After all, how much different from dancing could it be? After fetching a broom from the broom closet, she scanned the sky and the ground even for her little attendant boy. She needed to at least know know how to mount a broom before she officially started training with Treyen. Alex could help her warm up and stuff. When Cassie finally spotted him, she flailed her arms around to get his attention. Apparently he was engaged in conversation with a little boy, but she needed himt noooooow to help her or else she would suck when Treyen was ready to start the training. |

William aoomed back and forth again preteneding to cath the Quaffle. He will get really good this because no one is talking to him. He still would like a practice teamate. |
Quote:
Jacob watched as the boy pointed out the path. He gave a small laugh. "Alright." this was gonna be fun... he was going to wipe the floor with the gryffie captain. With that Jacob decided that playing fair was NOT going to be a part of this, and with out even letting Simon know when to go, Jacob leaned forward and shot into the course. |
Quote:
He nodded his head when he heard about the plushed duck that the boy so desperately needed. "Perhaps there's a way to fix that, Aaron, the captain is a nice guy." he assured Daichi. "Now, what position do you want?" he asked leaning forward on his broom to look at him. Quote:
"Why hello there, found your way down to the pitch did you?" he teased smirking as he circulated above her head. |
Quote:
He sped up to catch Finn but he wasn't really focusing on that instead thinking about Dora. She saw him as a superhero and she wanted Prince Charming. Maybe this was a waste of time. Catching up to Finn again he looked at him. Well he wasn't really one to ask about dating since he fell for someone at every turn. "I invited Lexi out here. Don't know if she's coming or not though." |
Now this was Oakey's kind of place, He loved Quidditch more than anything in the world. Harvey had taught Oakey everything he knew about the game even more so than magic itself. He stood there in awe this was the place Harvey's parents had played on opposite teams mind you, but still played. It was Oakey's dream to follow in Harvey's footsteps...No, to pick up where he left off. After Harvey's accident that forced him to retire, Oakey would play and play and play until he was just as good and join the Cannons just as Harvey did a week ago and finally get the Cannons a winning season. Oakey was a completely different person when he was on a broom. If you believed him when he told you his bad luck was a curse, you'd better believe this curse didn't exist around a Quidditch field. Oakey's confidence increased ten fold. |
Davvy_Wavvy too ^_^ Quote:
"I want to be a chaser or beater" he said as he saw someone else flying towards Alex and him and he laughed when the girl was flailing her arms to get Alex's attention. He stayed quiet when they started to speak to each other. Wait...did Alex came with her? Was he standing in the way? Daichi bit his lip, not knowing what to do. "i-i'm in the way , aren't i?" he asked carefully. |
Quote:
"Alex come down here and stop your mucking around up there you little show off. At least come down and show me how to fly like that." She half smiled have frowned at his comment. "Yes I found my way here, I'm not dense you know." Quote:
"Oh gosh no little one, you're not. Alex here is going to teach me how to fly on this thing." She said indicating the broom that she had in her hand. |
Maybelle walked to the pitch. Isobel |
Quote:
Quote:
Isobel mounted her broom and flew a little ways up in to the air. It felt so good to fly again after being off a broom for so long. She looked around and saw two familiar faces. Oakey; the boy who had slipped in the common room, and Maybelle. She flew over to them and hovered close to the ground. "Hey guys," she said. She had seen both their names on the sign up sheet. |

And now we're back to the "not-a-quitter" stuff. At least that meant Louisa wasn't going to give up if she didn't like this the first time around. Aaaand she'd just thrown the broom on the ground. Did they really have to start at the basic basics? Surely Louisa had attended Vindictus's flying class in her first year at least, to learn the basics of flying? Wasn't it a mandatory class for firsties? "Uh... You know how to call the broom up to you, right? And mount and all that?" |
Quote:
Wait.. was that a bird flying in the sky? She squeezed her eyes to see if that student actually was flying in the level with birds. Now that was insane! What if- She broke off suddenly feeling the atmosphere suddenly going quiet. Vashti was looking at her expecting... something? Louisa's eyes roamed in their sockets looking for anything around them that could give her any idea of what was going on. Nothing. "Umm...yeah. Sure." There, the quickest and safest reply she could come up with. "So, aren't we going to take precautions first?" Like laying down some rubber mats and wearing those heavy plastic stuff the football team usually do? Hmm? |
Quote:
"Oh so that how its gonna be", Simon mused aloud to himself as he quickly followed suit and took off after the younger boy. He certainly wasn't going to let him win based on cheating and doing his best soon came up off of one side of Jacob as they both continued to fly the course. |

As he made it towards the middle of the pitch, Jacob continued on the path Simon had laid out, and Cut through the more cluttered area of the pitch to make the figure eight. He saw the many students in groups and called out "Watch Out! Captains Comin' Through!" he yelled at the kiddies. They didn't want to get in the way of a captains challenge, or there might be lots of injuries. |

Another look at Vashti she saw the beaming in her friend's eyes when she got here. She did really want to teach her and Louisa wasn't making the task any easier. She sighed after a moment and waved the thought away, "Nothing. Let's just get started." She held her left arm above the thrown broom and ordered. "UP!" More like a military thing. The broom rolled over without leaving the ground. The third year's eyes widened. "Such rudeness!" And who cared if the broom didn't shot up on its accord? "Can't I just lift manually?" She addressed Vashti while her eyes still on the still broom. |

Hearing his fellow captain's yell he certainly hoped those who heard followed the Ravenclaw's advise. The Gryffindor having to duck low to avoid one of them himself as he followed close after before leaning in and shooting forward once the path was clearer soon back on Jacob's tail. |
Ariella wandered onto the pitch, a broom from the shed in hand. She was so excited to get to fly again...especially at Hogwarts! She mounted her broom and took off, feeling the wind whip her hair. She loved the exhilaration of flying. Even though she had done it countless times before, she still got the same rush. |

But suddenly a kid, flew in front of him, and Jacob had to almost stop in order to not to hit them. When he finally shook off the shock, Jacob remember what he was doing and quickly flew around the kid and back on path, but simon had already taken a lead. He shot off to catch up "Damn It! Get back here!" he yelled at the other Captain. dang kids getting in Jacobs way. Just Back off... No one should get in his way anymore, or he'd |

Maybelle came back with a broom this time. "Okay, I'm ready now...I hope." She told Isobel. "Well...I hope you know what you are getting into...I'm going to be a LOT of work..." She said. "Well, I guess to be in Quidditch...or to even try out...I guess I'll have to learn how to fly..." She said. |

So he had a lot of experience, that was good. Well... experience flying, not exactly Quidditch. Isobel landed on the ground and picked up a Quaffle that she had brought with her.(OOC: I don't know where she'd get it, just go with it.) "So, shall we practice." When she heard a yell she looked up, startled, and saw two boys zooming across the pitch. So, they were the captains of the other teams? They were much older than her. "Maybelle, you just fly right now, okay? You can join us with the quaffle after you get accustomed to flying." |

Vashti shrugged. "Yeah, it's not always necessary to do it that way," she said. "I think that's only needed when you're first starting out. You don't have to put it on the ground and demand it to come up every time you want to fly. Just hold it in your hand and mount it." This she demonstrated - or, well, it probably really wasn't a demonstration since Louisa surely knew how to mount a broom, simple as it was, so it was mostly just her getting ready to take to the skies once her friend was ready to do the same. |

"Think of it as payback," he added with a chuckle once they were on the same side of it again as he finished the straight away and headed into the curve of the figure eight. The momentum bound to help both of them pick up speed as long as it was take right. |
Tayla rushed out to the Quidditch pitch after grabbing a broom from the shed. She breathed in the cool air and tried to remember everything her Mum taught her. "I want to make you proud, Mum," she said softly. Her Mum used to play as keeper for the Gryffindor team. Tayla wanted to join the team, too, as a chaser. She needed to practice before the try-outs. Tayla mounted her broom carefully, inhaled and exhaled in excitement, and kicked off from the ground. She was a good flyer, just like her Mum. "But I wish I had my own broom!" she thought aloud, still grinning as she felt the wind in her face. "Please oh please let me in the Gryffindor team..." she prayed. |
Show offs :P SPOILER!!: Captains Selina was sitting and resting with no hands on her broom while she spoke to Kurumi. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Simon and Jacob racing one another trying to out fly the other. "Show offs," she muttered under her breath. She turned her attention back to Kurumi who was talking about the weather, obviously still on edge about being so high. Selina barely noticed the height she flied so often. Again she heard the Captains yelling bloody murder back and forth at one another. She turned her head to watch and saw Simon taking the lead. A soft smirk graced her lips- he would be in the lead. But then she saw something that troubled her. She cupped her hands over her eyebrows to block out the sun to see better. Jacob was flying very dangerously around a bunch of first years who seemed completely on edge. What was he doing? Didn't he realize how dangerous he was flying? Then he make a quick turn to follow Simon's lead and headed straight toward Kurumi and Selina. Her hands stayed over her eyes to continue to block out the sun leaving no hands on her broom stick. All that she was holding onto with the broom was her legs. But she had flown enough to be comfortable in that position. They were moving faster and faster and when she realized that Jacob was flying right at her both of her hands grabbed the end of Kurumi's broom and pushed her far away. Because Kurumi was holding fast to her broom from their first meeting Selina knew she would be fine. But then Jacob flew by so fast and Selina's only impulse was to save Kurumi that she did not hold onto her broom. The speed and closeness of the broom knocked her off her broom. She grasped at the air and the tips of her fingers held loosely to the bottom of her broom. She was dangling mid air from her broom with only the tips of her left hand as the difference between safety and falling. But she could feel herself slipping... |
A pair of tiny feet were rapidly running towards the Quidditch Pitch. A pair of wide violet eyes were in awe as the little blonde was swiftly running towards the Pitch. It was Violet, who was IMMENSELY excited! In her hand was her broom that she tied a light violet bow on the end of it. As soon as Violet was on the Pitch she looked around at all of the people who were there and it made her feel even more excited being in this new environment to her. Violet couldn't take it any longer, she placed her broom beneath her and within seconds her broom took off into the air, her hands gripped tightly on the broom keeping her balance. She smiled eagerly as the wind blew through her blond hair and didn't take her long for her to feel adrenaline rushing through her. Violet turned to see Selina talking to Kurumi and she gasped taking in a deep breath and then with one hand waving rapidly she squealed,"Selina!!! Hi Kurumi!!" She then went on,"Sely look at me!! Wheeee!!" Violet then began laughing happily as she began swirling around on her broom. |

SPOILER!!: Captains & Selina Kyle had been on the edge of her seat watching Simon and Jacob's little competition that she hardly noticed Kurumi and Selina were also flying at the same time. Then glancing up she noticed her, and the sly smile that crept across her face as Simon took the lead. Good job Simon she thought - she was too shy and awkward feeling to say anything to put attention on herself, but somehow deep down inside of her she was roaring with excitement. Like the stands would be if it were an actual game - and they were doing splendidly. This was exciting, riveting even and she knew deep down that she would definitely have to tell him splendid job no matter the outcome. |
After flying around the pitch as fast as her broom could go, Tayla slowed down and hovered near one of the goal hoops. She stayed there, facing the pitch, watching the other students practice or play. Among the players there was a tall, lanky boy wearing Gryffindor robes. "I wonder if he's Simon Bennett," she thought to herself, remembering the name from when she signed up for try-outs. She observed how he moved on his broom. He was really good. "I won't be surprised if he is..." Tayla decided she'd just fly around the pitch slowly for a while, observing him and the other students playing. She had a lot to learn, and she wanted to start now. |
Jacob & Simon too <3 Quote:
Kurumi took a peek. ...she DID! Kurumi's problem wasn't that she was afraid of heights nor was it the notion of flying - she was perfectly fine on an airplane. It was being on a broom with no security net besides the grass below you...which was now the furthest away it had ever been. "S-S-S-S-S-S-SELINA!" Kurumi chirped leaning forward so that she could hugged the handle. "Y-Y-Y-YOU KNOW I'VE NEVER BEEN UP THIS HIGH BEFORE!" She watched a bit as the Veela swirled around on her broom without a care in the world and her bottom lip pouted in innocent jealousy. Why was it that she couldn't feel so confident on a broom? If she were allowed to attach walls to it she would be fine. At least, she thought she would be fine that way. In her slight panic, she just barely heard one of the two racing captains to watch out in a tone that sounded more like 'YOU ALL BEST CLEAR THE PITCH CAUSE I'M COMING THROUGH!' than a polite warning. Then, Kurumi heard the sing-song voice of Selina's fellow second year, Violet. "H-H-H-Hello....V-V-V-V-Violet..." she smiled through chattering teeth. SPOILER!!: SELINA! NOOOOOOO *vader yell* All of a sudden, Selina was reaching across the air and grabbing onto her broom's handle. Kurumi's eyes widened and she was about to snap at the girl to knock of teasing her when she felt the broom shoot backwards. Okay...NOT funny! Kurumi was going to have to have a word with Selina afterwards about not teasing her while up so high in the air, when she saw a streak of blue shoot by her followed by a streak of red. The tail of the red streak caught the tip of Kurumi's broom's handle, causing her to spin like a top. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!," she shrieked as the world around her became one big blurry mess. At first, it was a blue blur with the occasional streak of brown that she took to be the stands. However, that brown blur was getting larger and larger quick. Kurumi knew how to stop, for the most part, during midflight...but could the same principles be applied to when you were a spinning mess?! |

to Emma aka the amazing Shannon :3 Fee walked to the practice pitch. It surely was a good idea to practice a little before the try outs were. The blonde really, really wanted to be a part of the team this term and she would do anything for it. With her broom in the hand she sat down on one of the benches to wait for Emma. The two blondes had said they would practice a little together.Last term they both had been to busy to go to the tryouts and now they wanted to be a part of it.Both in one Quidditch team that would be more than fantabulous. |

Yup, that was going to do so much good. Yelling at them as they fell to their deaths. Right now all that was on Jacobs mind was taking back the lead. He followed Simon around the stands, slowly but surely catching up on the Gryffindor. He was nearly close enough to Simon in order to ram the boy, but decided it was best not to. There was no telling the risk of that to his new broom. Better just use their bodies for violent acts. "Come on, Bennett." he started with a laugh. "You know you can't beat me." Jacob yelled as the space between them became less and less. |

SPOILER!!: Selina, Kurumi and Jacob Simon was doing his best to avoid people as they raced, not wanting to be the cause and especially not involved in a collision. Too many chances during games to deal with one during practice. Swerving around a hufflepuff he accidentally caught the tail of Kurumi's broom but not feeling it with the movement he was going, he didn't realise it. The wind whistling as he continued to race made it hard to hear or at least make out what Kurumi yelled but as he glanced back to look at Jacob to answer his fellow captain's taunt, "Don't be so sure, " he caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye. Facing forward for a moment to be careful, he looked back again to check on what he might have seen only to spot two persons in Gryffindor robes in apparent trouble. Correction, two very familiar girls and Selina was in danger of falling! No longer caring about the race Simon ignored Jacob and leaned himself into a turn as he rushed to his teammate's assistance. The captain pulled his broom beneath Selina so he could catch the second year who could still grab hold of her broom so it didn't fall. "I got you Selina..." he assured her so she would know to relax and sit in front of him on his broom. |

Tears started to swell in her eyes, she was too high up to make it down with a minor injury. A major injury would be lucky. This fall would break her neck and she was only twelve. The tears began to burn her eyes and her pinky finger lost it's hold on the broom, then her ring finger. The next finger she lost would be her inevitable fall. Why was she even holding on still? There was nothing that was going to stop her from her fall. So... she let go. She expected some kind of hard crash and darkness, but it never came. Instead she felt a solid broom beneath her body and a strong torso supporting her tiny frame. Selina opened her eyes and saw Simon behind her. She had never been so happy to see anyone in her life. In relief she leaned against him with her back and started to cry. She thought she was going to die. |
