A set of paths link the courtyard to various areas of the grounds. It’s nice to walk along either on your own or with a friend. The trees on either side of the path help to create a light atmosphere. So go on, take your time and soak up the fresh air, heaven knows students need it.

Okay, so maybe Heather promised to sing to Zara in the common room but instead, she found herself waiting for her young friend in the Pathways. She held her violin close. She chose to sing to Zara the very same song she sang to Kurumi as well.

"I hope i can sing well..." she sighed.
"I'm sure you will, Heather," Zara encouraged as she reached the area in the Pathways where Heather was.

Startled to hear a voice, Heather turned around to see Zara had already arrived. she put on a smile at the encouragement the girl gave her. "Thanks Zara." she said; she really appreciated Zara's gesture. It was really nice.
"A promise is a promise." she said, preparing her violin once more. "I sang this to Kurumi once...I hope you'll like my performance...I'm still having diffiiculty singing while playing with the violin." she blushed a bit, but shook her head and started to play the song with much gusto, remembering some memories....

some of which were....
Edward.
"You're always welcome, big sis." Uh oh. "Oops. I mean, Heather." Zara smiled apologetically.
Then she listened to Heather sing. After she finished, Zara clapped cheerfully, "Wow, Heather. That was great! I loveee your violin skills and of course your singing too." She grinned and realized she hasn't done the homework too.

"Is it okay if I sing too?"
Heather blushed when Zara called her big sis. No one has ever called her that before (becuase they always see her as so small and looking like a ten-year old despite her turning 13 just 4 days ago.) Zara apologized, whereas, Heather shook her head. "N-no...it's all right with me you can call me big sis." she said smiling at the girl. "No one's really called me that before...I want to thank you for that."
After her performance, Zara was cheering her, telling her she loved her violin skills and her singing as well. OHOHO. Maybe she really can sing? Heather admitted, she really was not a singer, but she did try. "thanks so much, zara..." she said, giggling over Zara's excitement. "Of course, I'd really like to hear you sing as well."

Zara blinked. It was alright? Then a smile slowly showed on her face. Alright! She had a big bro, a brother, and a big sister. Eeep, Zara was liking Hogwarts more than ever. "Thank you, big sis!" She exclaimed in delight as she hugged Heather.
Well, Zara knew of only one song. Just one song that has lyrics, besides the ones that Nessie, Kurumi, and Ella had taught her last week. It was Beauty and the Beast. The only fairytale she knew, besides Snow White which was taught during Muggle studies. "Well, I only know one song. I hope you don't laugh." Laugh because the song's kind of childish. But Zara loved it. She began to sing Beauty and the Beast.

Heather could feel the intensity of Zara's happiness in having her as a big sister in Hogwarts through the hug the girl had given her. She was happy as well that there was someone who finally did not see her as if she was a lot younger than them (or as young as they were) and Zara had decided to call her big sis. She was the first, and Heather really liked Zara a lot which made it really special. "No problem, lil sis." she told Zara, a small grin on her lips. HAH. wait until Camellia hears about this. She'll never believe Heather had been called someone's big sis in Hogwarts. Something Heather really wanted to happen in her life real soon, perhaps to forget that she's small and to make her feel that she is getting old and that she act her age.
never mind being short.
Oh, not to mention, Connor. Boy, will he be so proud of her, having a lil sis around and to look after with tender loving care.
"Okay, Zara. I won't laugh. I'd never dare laugh at you." She told the girl politely. Then she listened to Zara sing a familiar song to her ears. Ah, it was from that animated muggle film, Beauty and the Beast. Zara sang it beautifully.
When the girl was done, Heather clapped her hands. "Zara, that was amazing-definitely worth applauding for." she said. "See? I didn't laugh-i was actually...amazed." True, true. She practically had her jaw dropped the entire time Zara was singing the song.

"Thank you big sis." She grinned and hugged her again. She loved Heather so much. Hihih, she wished she could dedicate a song for her. Yeah, a piano composition would be nice. She smiled to herself. She'll make one this week. Oh! And for Matt too. Plus for Patroclus ♥. *grin*

Heather giggled. "No, I wouldn't laugh at your song choice. Beauty and the Beast is a classic, and worth respecting, and even more respected if sung properly." she said. Then the girl hugged her and she hugged Zara back. "No problem, lil sis." she told Zara.
Then a thought struck her. "I know, how about we sing to each other every week, Zara?" genius thought, maybe they practice together with Kurumi as well until their vocals were getting better. Then she remembered something else. "I almost forgot...the 50 front rolls...."

Zara was liking Heather every minute. A person who understands her=perfect sister. Aaahhh. 'Lil sis,' Zara repeated in her head. She liked that. It felt good to have siblings.
"That would be a great idea!" She beamed, yes, that would be nice. Maybe Zara could come back into that Room of Requirement and sing along with the piano. Yes, she would learn some songs soon. "Ohh, right! The front rolls. Rawr, I can't even do one." She chuckled. Well, there's always a first time.
Smiling again he looked around and responded saying,"Well it's kind of both. I'm just exploring and I think I'm gonna make it a habit. I think I'll study out here too. Think better when I'm outside." As he spoke, he turned his gaze to Ivory.
"So, other than walking and being one with nature, what else do you like?" he asked.
He made to continue walking before asking her,"Do you mind if I continue walking with you?", flashing her a friendly, warm smile. Jai was taught by his mother and father toalways be a gentleman. 'Always ask a lady.' they would say.
Grin widening, Ivory nodded lifting the book in her hand in illustration. "Me too, fresh air stimulates the brain I guess." Then again it also served as a distraction, but so did surprise compliments. But that was neither here nor there...
Tucking it under one arm again, she gave a small laugh at his choice of words. "One with nature? I'll say, considering my clumsiness." Picking off a small leaf from her hair, she gave him a rueful smile. "What else?" Pausing to think for a moment, she stepped forward and gestured for him to follow when he asked to accompany her.
"Well, luckily for you it would seem I also like to meet new people." she quipped with a small smile as they continued walking forward through the pathways.

Jai couldn't resist a chuckle."Lucky for me indeed. You don't seem clumsy; nature just likes you and thinks you would look even prettier with a leaf in your hair."he remarked falling into stride with Ivory. She was very down to earth, almost literally. He tucked his hands in his pockets as he walked along the path.
"What is your favourite subject here?"he asked. Jai was not a nature loving, athletic wizard but he liked his books too. Ivory who spoke with clarity and confidence gave him an intellectual vibe which was confirmed by the book.

Tackle? Like wrestle to the ground? Presley hadn't known what she'd signed up for. "Okay," she agreed uneasily. She held out her hands to catch the football.

"Let's help each other then. I still couldn't bring myself to stand after a roll though." Heather sighed, remembering the time she and Zara attempted the rolls in the defense training room. Zara couldn't agree more. All those front rolls made her back ache--okay fine, it was only one. What more if it was fifty? Rawr.
"Yeah, maybe we can," she smiled. "Wanna go somewhere? My legs are getting tired of standing here a bit," she admitted and looked ahead. Where did this pathway lead to?
still up lil sis, about to go to bed soon, but will reply to you anyways. *hug*

"Sure." Heather nodded. She had nothing to do today anyways...well, maybe she does, but only to pass the time. If ever she was bored, she would take pictures of the castle once more. She did, as of the moment, have one of her two cameras she brought with her this term; she owned three.

Bored, bored, bored.
Caiden Dorsett kicked a rock down the pathway, shoving his hands deep into his trousers pockets and looking down at the dirt. How could a place that was so magical actually be so boring?
'Probably cos I've only been doing homework recently.' he thought, biting his lip and then running a hand through his hair. He hadn't seen Hadley or Orabelle in quite some time and he didn't know exactly where to start looking other than their common rooms or the library.
However, Caiden had sworn off the library after the last Charms essay that took him an entire week to write. For now, he would enjoy the outdoors, fresh air, and sun.

Nika walked out to the pathways with a smile etched on her face. It was such a beautiful day and the breeze made it feel even nicer. For a moment she thought about working on some of her DADA homework, but NAHHH. It's too nice of a day to waste doing homework. Especially when you can walk around or talk to someone outside and enjoy your time.
She skipped around looking for someone out there to talk to. The nice thing about Hogwarts was that you can go out and talk to anyone you want, whenever you want and no one will think your crazy. She was lost in her thoughts and forgot to pay attention to where she was headed. Which she seemed to do an awful lot. She closed her eyes and the next thing she knew.
BAM.
She had bumped into someone and fallen on the floor. Uh oh. Clumsy Nika is back again. She scrambled to get back on her feet and shoved some random papers back into her bag as she did so. "Erm Sorry." She said looking up at the person who she managed to knock right into.

Zara thought about this hard. She didn't really have any specific place in mind. Where indeed? "I don't know. Where do you wanna go?" She smiled. "I'm fine anywheeere." Zara said and grinned wide. Well, she was surely up for adventure. If big sis Heather knew where to find it, she'd be ready.

Pathways, pathways. Zara skipped happily like a small little child--since she is one--as she was humming a happy tune. She liked the fresh air at the pathways, it always relaxes her. But some really awful memories here made her wish she'd never passed it. Her smile turning to a frown, Zara stopped humming as she stared at the place where that "awkwardness" happened before. Then she sighed.

Millie was stepping very carefully through the pathways or whatever they were called. Considering that every time she went outside she tripped and something ended up flying in someone's face. She looked up for less than a split second, thinking she heard some weird creature that had probably been roaming the school for centuries or something ridiculous like that. THEN SHE TRIPPED. And did she hit someone with something that accidently went flying out of her hand, yes. This time it was a book (the Diary of Anne Frank to be specific) that went flying into A FIRST YEAR?! Oh gawd. She rushed over quickly apologizing along the way "Gosh, I'm so sorry. Are you alright?" and things along those lines. Well done Millie. Hitting a first year. Well done.

Emma nodded. "I understand. Tell me about it partner. I had to do the same thing last year, when the guy I liked started dating his crush. I was literally crushed thats why I didn't really come out a lot last year. It was tough but I survived! I'm still here! " she exclaimed, chuckling.
Ellie chose Chanlder over Alex? Was she blind? No offense to Chandler of course. "Alex. She must be blind. You gave her everything you had and she tossed it in the trash. Yet you'll still catch a grenade for her. If I had been her, I would have chosen the funny, adorable, best friend, and a guy that wasn't afraid to be himself or take over the world beside me. If I had been her I would have chosen you. no offense to Chandler of course. He already has a girlfriend and going after a boy who is taken is kind of weird. No offense to Ellie either- I like her as a friend."
"Alex, can you promise me two things please?" she asked, gazing into her friends eyes with her own brown ones.
Alex looked at her and winced slightly. "Ouch, harsh." he said in compassion. Her crush started dating another girl? Who would do that? Probably a very stupid person. And ugly too. A stupid and ugly person, for sure.
He raised one eyebrow at her with a small grin. "Isn't that from a song?" he asked her. *SNICKER* Whatever it was, he'd take it. He chuckled at her trying to tell him that of course nothing she said was meant to offend Ellie or Chandler. "Ellie didn't choose Chan, she just started to have feelings for him. And Chandler didn't do anything with that information. He wouldn't do that towards Kai. Or me." he added. At least he hoped so...
Turning fully towards her he stopped and nodded his head with a shrug. "Yeah, what things?" he asked. "As long as it's not giving up food or Quidditch I'm all up for promising you two things." he nodded.

"Ow." Zara said softly as something hit her in the head and landed on the floor. Looking at it, it was a book. She blinked, as she rubbed her head wondering where that came from. Zara looked up at the sky, for some weird reason. Maybe it was from up there, maybe a student just wanted to throw books, maybe it was hanging on a tree and just so happens to fall on her head. She was about to bend over and get the book but then the suspect came.
Ohh so it wasn't done on purpose. Whew. Zara sighed of relief, at least no one was mad at her or bullying her. It was an honest accident. "Yeah just a bump," she smiled.

This running around actually felt good. “I really wonder why you got sorted into Slytherin. You don’t seem to have any of the qualities that a Slytherin is supposed to have.” Viola grinned. "No offence." And, for the record.. “I’ve NOT been insulting you at all. I’m just pointing out the truth.” And, that as an insult as well. Oh, well.
Was this all an act? Ridiculous. She just couldn’t understand boys at all. Viola smacked him on the head. ”You could have stopped at ‘that’s okay’.” He forgives her? Yeah, right. “Oh. What’s wrong in that? You can spell your name now, yes?” Oh man. She could still remember what a nerd she was when she was six AND she didn’t have any friends. Yeah. Pathetic. She was still a nerd but had friends now. Yep.
Viola felt embarrassed. “No problem.” Viola smiled, awkwardly. She looked at him suspiciously. Was he being sarcastic as well? “What’s with all the niceness?” Woah. She was SO relieved that he hadn’t asked her to sing. WOOT! Thank Goodness. Ah, she was so scared for a minute there. Viola slowed down a bit. She was running way too fast and she’d probably get tired soon. Ugh. She should have got a bottle of water with her. She was thirsty. “That would be great.” No big finish the next time. Awesome.
“Okayy. Well, I don’t know any pirate dude.” Who was he talking about? She hadn’t watched any movie with a pirate in it. “What’s the name of the movie?” She could probably watch it during the holidays. Before she could say anything, he pulled her sweaty and disgusting self into a hug. “Well, I’m glad to have made you happy..” Something was terrible wrong with him. Anyway, she was kinda glad that he didn’t seem too annoyed with her. LOL. “Is someone jealous?” Viola, will you just put a lid on it!? What kind of a silly question was that? Of course, he wasn’t jealous.
Cute? Yuck! And, did he just pinch her cheeks!?! She wasn't sure whether to be annoyed because someone just pulled her cheeks or to be happy that he was less self-obsessed...for a change. AT least, that got him to agree. “Really. No offence. What’s got into you? You’re being really nice..? Do you want to get your head checked or something?"
AH! “Now, let’s see. Karate, Singing, Dancing, Front Rolls, Talking to a mirror about your goals, Running 5 miles, Touch your toes, Stretch daily, Swimming and Meditation.” Viola ranted off the list. Yep. She remembered. Uhh, she was pretty sure she wasn’t going to do any Karate, meditation and front rolls. Why would anyone want to do Karate? Jeez.
The boy shrugged. "Well, I try to... as much as I can." And it certainly was much easier since he got to Hogwarts. So many people to prove himself to, and so much to learn. One day, he would be Head Boy, and in a few years time, he would be head master of this school. No doubt about it. Wooow, Viola's next comment startled him, but in a good way. "Are you serious? That makes me so happy, yknow." Slytherins were mean, and if he wasn't like a Slytherin, did that mean that he was nice? Obviously, her niceness was short-lived. "Maybe you should keep your honesty to yourself." There was nothing wrong with telling fibs to make someone feel good now, was there?
UH-OW. "WATCHU DO THAT FOR?" He over exaggerated, holding his head right after she smacked him. "I was just being polite, Viola." The third year replied, followed by a huff. Why was he there, being bullied by a girl who was younger than him? Frown. "Yes, I can spell it now." Thank you, very much. It was other things such as 'SLYTHERIN' that he struggled spelling. Not to mention the other houses. Jamie hadn't even attempted Gryffindor.
The niceness? From him? Ohhh, no, no, no. "I could ask you the same question!" Maybe they had stepped onto the next level of friendship, and were actually beginning to be nice to each other? Yea, he hoped so. Jamie winked at her, then had a curious thought. "So.. what are you doing for your singing part of the assignment?" Was the fact that he just sang to Viola an excuse to say that he had already done it? Hmmm....
Errm... "Pirates of New Zealand, I think." He had never actually seen it, but he had watched a couple of trailers. It didn't exactly show in the wizarding world and he was too afraid to enter a muggle cinema. Shaking his train of thought away, Jamie continued, "...all I know is that there is an awesome pirate who... talks kinda funnily... and he... saves the day?" Isn't that what always happened in muggle movies? Eh.. Beaming even brighter when she didn't push him away from the hug, Jamie felt a bit better about the running. At least he wasn't fighting off insults anymore.
Jealous? OF WHAT? "Don't be stupid." Jamie scratched his head awkwardly, and looked away from Viola. Stupid move from him because it just made it obvious that he was uncomfortable and blatantly LYING. "I'm always nice!" He said in slight disbelief at her. "We're friends, aren't we? Aren't friends nice to each other all the time?" Yuhuh! Jamie and Viola were friends now, and if she didn't really believe that then that kinda did suck.
Talking in front of a mirror! OMG, that was one of Jamie's daily things to do! He grinned at the prospect, of going to a PUBLIC, yes, public, MIRROR and talking about how freaking awesome he was. What a great assignment. As Viola continued, the third year bolted to a stop. "Let's do meditation! Right now!" And with that, he sat down, crossed his legs and...
"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........."
