Riley was kind of nervous. His usual uncaring and high-and-mighty demenor was beginning to resemble nervousness and that was not a very flattering trait on him. Hoping that the note he had given another Slytherin girl to hand to Evelyn had made it to her alright, he had come to the Corridor leading out to the Courtyard and stood behind one of the columns and waited.

It was rather silly that Riley had went through the trouble of finding a messenger to give her a note, but it made her giggle in the end, so it didn't really matter. Making her way up from the dungeons, the Slytherin girl turned into the corridor leading to the courtyard, her hazel eyes on the lookout for the Gryffindor boy.

Which...he should have been there by now. What gives?

Frowning, she scoffed and crossed her arms as she slowed down to a snail pace walk. A few seconds later though, she leaned against one of the columns nearby, and waited for Riley. He gives her a note saying to meet him here, and now SHE'S the one that has to wait? He was walking on thin ice here.

Geez what was taking that snake so long?! Riley tapped his foot for a second, then whistled a little from a Wierd Sisters song, forgot the rest, and then began to pick at the mortar on the column with a fingernail. He had sent a note to Evelyn and he just didn't understand what part of meet me by the Courtyard was so hard. He bet Destiny or Marie side-tracked her. He shook his head, Desiny's impression of the Dinosaur from the Care of Magical Creatures feild trip was entertaining but they had business to take care of!

Then his ears twitched slightly as he heard someone coming, he leaned back into the corner created by the column and waited. The person stopped and then there was quiet again. Peeking around the wall to see who it was the gryffindor saw no one. Hmm....so he waited some more.

Then he sneezed. Merlin!

Closing her eyes, Evelyn crossed one foot over the other as she continued to wait, looking quite calm and relaxed. Every second that past though, she became a little less patient and a little more irritated. What was taking him so long, hmm? Perhaps he passed a mirror and got side-tracked. Kinda seemed like something he'd do.

However, just as she was going to sigh, the sound of someone sneezing had her eyes snapping open, and her wand already in hand. She hadn't heard any footsteps or the like before then. Expression one of concern, she stared down the corridor.

But, there was no one. That was a sneeze right? "Whoever it is...I DARE you to try that again!" Dare them to...sneeze again? That didn't come out right.

Riley had completely unaware that anyone had stayed after those footsteps and had pretty much assumed they headed the other direction but after his sneeze the figure of Evelyn Shepard darted out and began to threaten the empty corridor.

That was definately funny. Hmm....

Pressing himself further into the corner he disguesed his voice and decided to play with the Slytherin. "So you think a little Slytherin like yourself can tell a castle over 1,000 years old when and when not to sneeze?! Have you seen the dust in this place?!" he said his voice raspy yet dignified.

hehe...thats what she gets for being late. Yeah under all that pompousness and good-looks Riley was a dork.

...Seriously?

Raising a brow, and lowering her wand as the person spoke, she was both amused and slightly annoyed. Was this a first year messing with her? If it was, she would hex them into next week. Then again, the voice sounded too deep for a first year, regardless of it's...disguise.

Scoffing quietly, and having figured where the voice was coming from, a quick flick of her wand and then a sudden jab crossing the other way had her smirking in no time. The familiar green circles zoomed forth towards one of the columns, and just as they looked like they were going to pass it, they made a sudden turn towards it.

Hmph. See how you like that oh voice from the castle.

Smirking uncontrollably, Riley took a deep breath and prepared to deliver more clever and witty Castle talk when he saw that Evelyn had stopped her ranting and yelling and was just listening. He had succeeded in freaking her out and had just stepped out....

directly into her spell. His eyes widened in surprise as his friend shot around, green light flashing from her wand. She just tried to murder him didn't she?! O___O

He was hit square in the chest and flung backwards, his front stinging and his back throbbing from the hit to the floor. "HEEEEYY!!!! WHAT WAS THAT FOR!!!??" he roared from the ground trying to get his breath back.

Having taken only a glimpse of who it was that decided they thought it'd be a bright idea to mess with her, the sudden yell had made her quick suspicions seem true. Oh dear...

"Riley!" she called over, quickly walking over to the column and peaking around it, only to see Riley sprawled on the ground looking out of breath. Oops? He must've used the last he had to yell at her. Well, he deserved it. Mess with Evelyn? Think again. "Don't DO that. I thought you were a first year or...someone else." Perhaps it was best it wasn't a first year. Wouldn't they just run off and tell a professor?

Yeaaa...better Riley then an annoying firstie

Riley wanted to be angry but he just couldn't with Evelyn...at least not for long. She was a fellow mean kid and he just couldn't help it. He layed his head down as if he passed out and then jerked his head back up when she came over and then was relieved he was not a firstie. "That's how you welcome firsties to the Castle?!" he started laughing. "You just walk down the hall and blast the first small child you see? Please remind me to mark childcare off your list of possible future careers Evelyn." he said between laughs.

Standing up and wiping the dirt of the seat of his pants all the while rubbing his chest that still stung a bit he spoke again. "Well at least we don't have to worry about being attacked, you've got that under control." He smirked.

Leaning against the column, Evelyn crossed her arms, a smirk appearing on her face. Hmmm, if only she could greet the firsties like that. "First off...please do cross that of the list. I hate little kids." Ehh. "And second..you should think twice before messing with me." That last one though she said with a smile. All smiles, and no smirks.

Laughing quietly, she leaned her head against the column. "So, Riley..." Graduating this year, wasn't he? "Why did I need to meet you here?" Apparently he wasn't making her wait like she thought he was, sooo he wasn't so much on thin ice like he was before. This reason better not put him back right where he was though.

"Duely noted." he said nodding and pointed at her with a nod. He would never have dreamed that his friend had EVER liked little kids so this notion she just set down of hating them was no surpise to Riley, besides he wasn't that fond of them either really. "Yeah well, you haven't seen me snuck up on!" he said retorting to her semi-threat. "I bet I could take you." his big-headedness was shining again, but that challenge was for another time, more important business was at hand.

"Evelyn, I met you here because you know I will be leaving Hogwarts after this term right?" he paused. He was sure she was sad, he was. "And I need the help of a crafty person and someone who wouldn't go snitching. I need to leave my mark on this school...literally." he whispered. Nothing major he wasn't going to go blasting out a wall or anything, but he was open to ideas.

Hahaha. "We should see if that's true." she replied as her eyes narrowed, ready for any type of competition. Of course, probably not now. She was too curious to know the actually reason of WHYYY she was here in the first place. Unless, that actually was the reason.

Aaand it wasn't. "Thank Merlin!" she sighed in relief, sliding forward off the column and stood in front of Riley. "For the very first time, the use of my incredible intelligence, marvelous creativity, and amazing skills are being used for the greater good. This..." Oh goodness, she was going to tear up! Sniffling, she placed a hand on her chest, as if to try and stop herself from crying. "I never thought this day would come."

Well... now that that was out of the way... "Seriously though." Returning back to 'serious and business' mode, Evelyn cut from the fake crying and stared at Riley in almost boredom. "What are you thinking about? Creating a mural on the side of the castle? Burning a picture of your face on the school grounds large enough to see from on a broom? Crafting a statue of yourself for all to see?"

As she continued to talk he quickly agreed with her statement for them to see if he really could take her, which he could because he was a beast after all in pretty much everything so there really would be no competition but he might as well humor her right?

After she put on the show of fake tears and everything Riley just looked at her with his arms crossed and shook his head. "Ok you tortured soul, I DO need your help ok?" he said ready to plead if he had to. And WHY DID SHE HAVE TO MENTION SUCH AWESOME IDEAS?! "A statue sounds nice actually but where would we get supplies? Vindictus would literally murder me if I did anything to the grass or the Groundskeeper whichever, but the mural sounds nice." His face was definately deserving to be on the wall somewhere around this school. He was glad Evelyn had finally realized it.

"Let's get started before someone comes along." he said scooting over to a section of the wall that was looking exceptionarily boring.

He went for the mural? Seriously? She was CERTAIN he would have gone for the burning an image of his face on the school grounds. Or she was really really hoping at least. She'd been here for who knows how short of a time, and she hadn't burned anything yet. So disappointing.

"A mural it is then." she muttered, scooting over to where he stood. Well, this was a nice spot actually. How...were they going to create a mural again? Placing her hands on her hips, she stared at the wall, nodding her head somewhat. "So...how do we start this?"

Color changing charm? Paint bubbles? What...

Ok their plan was in motion and they needed to get this thing done. He was glad he had enlisted someone so criminally-genius like to help him out rather than some diva-self proclaimed artist that he would have to scrounge for around the school. Merlin knew Riley couldn't take egos bigger than his own in times of stress and for something this important. Besides Evelyn was his friend, his trigger happy jinxing buddy.

"Let's get started. Of course we need it to look like this..." he said standing by the window, light pouring in behind him and his face turned slightly to the right. His hands on his hips, chest broadened out and looking quite awesome. "Got it?" he said and then moving out of the pose. "I say we use color changing charms to get the thing started. What say you?"

Raising a brow, Evelyn stared at him, hands still on her hips and looking completely perfect unimpressed. Okay, no, he did look a bit awesome right now. "Think I can handle it." she nodded, turning to look back at the wall. Well, at least he narrowed her thoughts down to the color changing charm. It was simple enough.

"Sounds fine to me." Sooo... "So, we'll go for an acid green for the skin, bright red for the eyes, and yellow for the fangs, right?" Grinning, her shoulders shook from trying to keep in her laughter as she raised her wand and gave a quick flick at the wall, a nice little area becoming a peach/tan color.

Yeah she had better handle it. He posed again and allowed her to soak in his awesomeness and place it on the stone. Riley DID see that little look she gave him and knew she was impressed. Good.

As she began to work he was not impressed with her little joke. "Hey you goond just paint me right." he pushed her playfully and then stood back where he had been. He was letting her do the work of course, he was no Van Gogh definately not, he didn't think he would look right missing an ear...maybe Evelyn would?

"Seriously Evelyn, don't you go giving me a unibrow or a fat bottom lip. I'm not above firing the artistic help." he chuckled, a real warning underneath the words. He was defiling a wall he didn't want his face to be defiled.

"Yea yea..." she laughed, waving her hand in his direction. Goodness, she would never purposely ruin a MASTERPIECE. Unless of course, it was on someone she didn't like and the reason WAS the purposely ruin in...but still...

Now that he gave her those lovely images to think about, Evelyn smirked, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. "Not if that artistic help isn't above getting you into loads of trouble." Now hold still! She had a mural to finish! And who knows how long that sunlight was going to last.

After pushing her, Riley realized it probably wasn't wise to do so to the person who was physically painting YOUR face on a wall. You didn't want it to give the illusion that your face was all wavy on one side. And that was not true for Riley, no need to make it part of the mural.

"You wouldn't turn me in, I would take you down with me anyways." he said grinning evilly. "Besides if you did so, I would have to cancel our little challenge of who is better. I still need to decide what all events that will entail, I would assume some sort of triathalon." Naturally, he nodded as if that was the norm.

Back to painting! He was getting anxious.

Ohh would he now? Pausing in the process of making the wall so much less boring, Evelyn turned her gaze over to the Gryffindor, blinking every now and then. Cancel their challenge?

"Cancel it?" she repeated, her smirk widening. "You wouldn't want to do that anyways." Going back to creating the mural on the wall, she looked down the hall every other moment or so to make sure no one was coming. "Don't want to look like you're chickening out or anything do you? Thought Gryffindors are supposed to be the brave bunch."

It just made it that much better that a girl would be winning. Evelyn WOULD be winning if they ever did have this contest, she was sure about that.

Seeing as she had accomplished a fair amount of lesson preparation, Josephina decided to go for a walk outside and enjoy that nice weather. Perhaps begin reading in one of her new books in the courtyard. Taking the long route and through the corridor that led outside, she saw two familiar bodies ahead of her. Two of, not surprising, her best students too.

Smiling as she approached them, it faltered however, when she saw what they were doing. Literally, it seemed painting on a wall. "Miss Flores and Mr Sinclair!" She exclaimed, noting the raised wand in the witch's hand. "Someone please explain to me what is going on here?" Now. Or run away; I dare you.

Erm...

This didn't look good.

Jumping in horrorGlancing over to her other side, Evelyn stared at the professor, frozen still as if caught doing something bad. NO, this wasn't bad. Technically. Just putting some color on these boring gray walls. Well, at least it was Professor Hadley and not someone like Vinny or the Headmaster.

"Hello Professor Hadley." she said, not really smiling but she did suddenly mumble 'Finite' every now and then. Good Merlin, could Hadley like...move away a little? Please!? She was far too close for the Slytherin's liking. Any professor should be miles away right now. "We're just...fixing...this wall." Right Riley? "Someone...made a picture on it..." Not them of course. That would be PREPOSTEROUS!

Riley had to agree with her, he really didn't want to have to back out of their competition and all. He actually was really looking forward to it, they needed to be sure it happened this term before he left. "Yes I am brave like Gryffindors are but Im not only brawn." That was an understatement. Riley was skinny and pale, much smaller than most other seventh year boys in his house, most houses actually. That was why he didn't play Quidditch, oh and the fact that you could pretty much die out there.

Speaking of bravery....it was about to be tested. Riley who had been standing there by the window posing for Evelyn to finish the mural, saw a shadow of a person entering the corridor out of the corner of his eye and turned. His eyes widened in shock as she saw that it was Hadley, the Arithmancy lady. "Damn! Stop painting!" he said hastely towards Evelyn, the Gryffindor was pretty sure he would have run had he not had had to leave his Slytherin friend behind. Besides she was pretty smart and skilled in the ways of shifty things, maybe they could get out of it.

Then she told the professor that they were just trying to fix the wall that someone had painted a sexy dude on. And Riley nodded his head vigorously, even though the painting was already looking ALOT like Riley. "Yeah Professor."

Peyton walked along the corridor that was kind of outside, kind of not. Where the heck was she? This definitely was not the Great Hall. She felt so stupid for not knowing her way around this school and kept having to ask younger kids who had been here since last year or the year before that. She came to a stop and stood there with her hands on her hips. Errr... let's see.

She would go back the way she had come just because it felt like it was that way. So she began on her way to the left once more and stopped AGAIN. Wait no... it was the other way. Turning around, she walked back the way she had just come from.

WAIT NO. A confused sigh came from her mouth and that was it.

She gave up.

This was absolutely pointless.
