However, she thought that gr her own good she mustn't see this, not now that Elle is upset, what if she called one of her brothers. So Lara pretented to be conserned "Oh! really? that's awful, why would anyone do such thing?" Lara said hoping that it was obvious that she was faking it!

Anyway she was glad that elle moved on to eating ,and Lara did the same!

------------

Lara was glad that Elle didn't comment on what Lara said to Cody, so she just went on talking "I see" Lara nodded "Aren't you excited about the new term, Cody?" Lara asked then she thought that it was a stupid question to be asked! Of course he is!

--------------------------------for Both-----------------------------

Then Lara looked at both Elle and Cody as she glanced the Staff table and said" Do you think that the headmaster will talk about the ship that was found in the black lake?" Lara asked curiously. She was so curious about this, in fact it was one of the most exciting reasons that Lara was thrilled to know about.

Cody looked at Lara and smiled. "Well, I guess I am. For all of the fun stuff but not for all of the homework that I'm going to get", he told Lara.

"What ship?", he asked. Cody had no idea about a ship being found in the Lake. Since when was there a ship, right here at Hogwarts? "When did you hear about it?", he added.

Elle nodded in agreement. "I heard some people will have to start studying for their O.W.L.s by Fourth Year. Are you one of them? My brothers, they did and are," she shook her head with a little frown. "I don't want to do that much... it'll mean endless studying hours for me starting next term!" When could she sketch? Read her history books? Have fun? "Anyway, good luck with them!" she murmured.

Cody didn't even waht to think of his O.W.L.s. "No, I'm not one of those people", he answered. "All I can say is that it will be a lot of long hours studying and going to the library a fair bit", he told Elle. "Thanks", he said with a smile.

"Miss Malfoy, you have to understand people like that are ignorant, they are no better than the scum beneath your shoes, and remember - they only want to crush your spirits so they can be the best, so you'll just have to be the best," Orabelle said simply before pulling out a tube of lipgloss and reapplying it. "Keep your eyes on the prize," she said simply before pulling out her compact to make sure she looked perfect. Oooh, pretty. "Your apologies have been accepted," she said, snapping the circular silver compact shut.

She pulled out a silver clip and pinned her hair up in an elegant, yet casual, way. Orabelle then placed some food on her plate, she would have to eat eventually. She ignored the somewhat glaring the look the blonde girl was giving her. Not that she minded or anything, jealousy stares back in Beauxbatons had made sure of that.

"Of course, she never did tell the whole truth," Orabelle said simply. The biggest liar Orabelle had ever met was her cousin, and that was seriously saying something. It seemed like all her cousin ever did was lie. "It's quite enjoyable Miss Malfoy, yourself?" she asked as she rummage in her bag, looking for her camera, just to make sure it was still fine after the way everything had tumbled out of her bag.

Emma thought about Orabelle had said. Wow, sounded like she knew what she was talking about. It also sounded like Orabelle knew her whole family history. Well she was being nice talking about her family. "Thank you Miss Belamonte for your kind words and advice. I really appreciate it. I really do." she said, in a warm tone.

The blonde twirled a strand of her blonde, straight hair and it turned into a wave. She listened to what Orabelle was saying. "Oh.." she said. Emma kind of did that Selena never really was good with the truth, but that didn't mean she was a bad person. "Well, I do like it. Especially shopping for sunglasses and jewelry. And Quidditch brooms. " she explained.

Changing the subject, "So what do you like doing for fun?" she asked, with a small smile appearing on her lips.

For the first time after two months, the redhead looked up and stared at the board, where points were added or deducted from Houses. She frowned. "What happened to Gryffindor? It's just the start of term and already a -15?" but she didn't really care, felt indifferent to be specific. Last time, they won. Not Slytherin.

"Thanks hun." Cass answered with a smile

Then she too followed the girl's eyes and saw that Gryffindor indeed had lost 15 points and were now negative. "I don't know actually." She admitted "And I sort of don't care. This is good, at least we have a remote chance." But they still had Kurumi who could earn points like one can collect sand on a beach

Elle really didn't know how to ace every exam and get an O in all her homework. She just had to study past the clock and be an extremely good and obedient student.

Elle could read emotions most of the time and she felt that Cody didn't like talking about the upcoming tests for Fifth Year. She cleared her throat and drank some pumpkin juice. She really didn't know what to say now...

Suddenly, a thought came to her and the redhead took her purse, opened it and brought out a thick stack of Chocolate Frog Cards. "I remembered that you love collecting these," waving hers in front of him. "Want to trade? I've been dying to get Circe for ages!"

Though unnoticed, Aiden is really happy to be at Hogwarts. She could not eavesdrop on a conversation if she wants to. The sound of chatting, talking students are mixing up the conversations that she has no idea who are talking to whom.

Her stomach is grumbling again. The Cauldron Cakes she had in Hogwarts Express musn't be enough, she thought. Aiden grabs a roast chicken in one hand and a yorkshire pudding in another before gluttonously devour the food.

Bella sat down hoping to make new friends. She hadn't made friends with anyone one who was in Slytherin yet, but hoping soon she wood. She filled up her plate with food hoping somone one would realise she was there and be friendly.

Samira's eyes snapped to the staff table at Helena's mention. "Oh my gosh," she whispered. This was the first time Samira had noticed the new professors, and lack of the old. She wondered what happened. "Is professor Bishop still there?" she asked, craning her neck for a better view. If Professor Bishop was gone, there was going to be some serious protest from the young Slytherin on her favorite teacher.

Samira suddenly remembered something crucial. "Oh, did you hear about the ship in the Black Lake?!" Samira was shocked when she read the article. It said the ship had no signs of Dark Magic, but...well, you never really knew. It made her uneasy, and Samira hated things that she wasn't absolutely positive about.

"It is nice," Helena agreed, smiling. About Germany. It is a great country, but once you visit it too many times... you get tired of it. And Helena kind of wanted to see a few other places, beside Germany. Buuut she was not complaining. She's not the always-have-to-travel kind of girl.

"I think she is," she said, scanning the professor's desk, but then looked back at Samira. "I suppose you like Divination," the girl added, but it came out almost as a question. But then... Helena wondered who was going to replace the missing professors. And hopefully, the new Herbology professor is not going to be eaten by a plant or something... or whatever happened to the one she had never met.

Ah, the ship. Helena's smile faded instantly. "I did." She was not a big fan of the Daily Prophet, but who didn't hear about that? "I only hope they're not muggles." Because the last term was... uhhh. She didn't want to hear about muggles anymore.

Maybe I am a little biased, but you can't keep degrading your own House." Samira suddenly remembered something her mother told her when she was complaining that she could never brew a potion right. "Think about it this way...if you keep thinking that Slytherins are mean, and keep that philosophy in your head, then they really will be mean-in your head that is." Um, did that make sense? Samira wasn't sure, but she hoped it did. "Try changing your thought pattern. It's a fresh start, you know?" Samira was surprised that she was Rozan's first Slytherin friend. Okay...if she was the first, then how could she judge all of the house?! Samira didn't think she was mean...a little outspoken maybe, but not necessarily mean. Right?

Samira immediately perked up when they started talking about lessons. "Oh, the classes are absolutely brilliant!" Samira gushed. She nodded vigorously. "I don't know how the classes are in Beauxbatons, but the classes at Hogwarts are super fun and interesting." Well, except for that one Care of Magical Creatures class where they had to dig around poop. Samira still shuddered at the memory.

The dark-haired girl's head came up with a snap at the mention of the latest news and gossip. "Oh yess! It's crazy isn't it?" It made Samira a bit uncomfortable. She hated things she didn't know the truth about, or what not. Although the papers did say it didn't involve Dark Magic, Samira was still skeptical.

Rozanna nodded, satisfied with Samira's answer about degrading your own house. She was right. "Okay, okay. I'll stop bashing my own house." And with that, Rozanna sat up straighter, and smiled widely. No, she wasn't being fake, she genuinely wanted to give it a go because Slytherin was her new home, and there was nothing she could do to change that. "So maaaaybe... you could show me around the common room and stuff later." Actually, she didn't even know where the common room was in this place. She hoped it was high up, allowing a nice view of the lake or something. That would be lovely.

"I can't wait!" And she really couldn't wait to put her wand to use. Defence Against The Dark Arts would be a good one for that kind of magic. And Charms. Wheeee. "The classes at Beauxbatons were okay." Her face made a 'meh' expression. "A lot of the teachers were French, though. Was kinda hard to understand them." Anyway, that was the past. Rozan knew that the teachers here would be better. "What is your favourite class? Any teacher warnings?" Like, the mean ones? Hehe.

"Kinda, yeah." Rozanna scratched her head, still confused. "But... why is it there... and why is everyone freaking out?" A ship floating on water wasn't exactly ground-breaking news to her.

It took him a bit, but finally, he smiled.

He took the cookie. "Are we switching roles today?" he asked, gesturing to the cookie and his ruffled hair. "You be me and I'll be you?"

His face was slowly losing any signs of sadness, transforming instead into a look of silent amusement and maybe even a tinge of joy. This change could only be the result of seeing Monty. And it could only be her that would be able to successfully pull him out of such deep thought, without being snapped at in any sort of fashion.

He took a bite of his cookie, keeping his eyes on the girl in front of him. His movements were slow and his voice was soft - things which might only be the remains of his powerful memory trip.

He caught a glint of light from her robes. It was only a couple of seconds after this flash the he finally looked down from her face. Head Girl. Of course. He expected nothing less from Iris Beaumont.

The blonde looked at Jimbo, eyeing him as he took a good while to even respond to her. As he finally smiled, she did too.

Switching roles? Iris smirked. "I'll be you and you be me?" Ahaha. That seemed like a silly idea! ... So ... if they switched roles for the rest of the day, then that meant she'd have to give him her badge... just for pretends, right? PSSFHT. No way. She cocked her eyebrow at him. "Really? Ahaha... Nahh. You just looked like you could do with some cheering up"

Which... judging from the boy's face, seemed to have worked.

Iris liked seeing Jimbo happy. Anything less than that was just... not right. Jimbo shouldn't be unhappy or miserable. It didn't suit him.

The girl watched as Jimbo's eyes caught sight of something. She smiled a little, sheepishly. She'd never told him about the badge... but then again, Iris hadn't seen Jimbo during the summer, since getting the letter. Taking a bite out of her own cookie, Iris spoke up again. "But... we can, if you really want." It'd be silly. And fun... pretending to be Jimbo. She wasn't sure how much she'd trust him pretending to be her, though. Hehe.

Thais looked away from the girl and said, "Nice to meet you Evan." She had a feeling they were going to get along fine. She wasn't going to do anything to lose her house points.

This small chat with her was making him feel better than ever. He remembered the last time they'd seen each other and smiled. Monty was quite the friend.

He finished chewing the bite he had just taken from his cookie and smirked at the head girl. Reaching over, he ruffled her hair just a bit. "I wouldn't mind." he answered, bringing his hand back to his side. It had occurred to him as well, the badge. "It would be fun docking points from other houses and bossing first years around."

Not that Monty did that sort of thing at all, but rather he would, if he had the badge.

He chuckled. He had never had much of an interest for being a prefect or anything of the like. However, if he did have the badge for a day he figured that's exactly how he would use it.

He finished eating his cookie and wiped his hands on his robes. "I missed you, Monty. My summer was rather boring."

Good, 'cause Iris wouldn't make a very good Jimbo, either.

Iris crinkled her nose as Jimbo ruffled her hair. Pssh. It was acceptable when she ruffled HIS hair, but never the other way around. WHEN was Jimbo going to learn that?! Silly boy. But maybe that's why she liked him. 'Cause he annoyed her like how Robert does. Jimbo was cooler than Robert, anyway. So... he was allowed to ruffle her hair, for that reason alone. Except for when it was done all nice and neat. Then he was NOT allowed to touch it.

At Jimbo's reasoning for finding a swap like that fun, she rolled her eyes. Then she giggled. "You can't really dock points... Just sayin'. But you have fun thinking up all the antics you'd get up to as Head Boy." Y'know... there's a very good reason why Jimbo never got a Student Leader position... and he just said both of them. Hehehe.

For a little while, Iris didn't say anything, and instead just finished off the rest of her cookie. She'd have to thank Kurumi for making the Slytherin's those later.

She smiled, fondly. Monty. It was weird. She'd hardly heard that said at all in the last year. "I missed you too, Jimbo. You nutter. It was boring? Was that 'cause I wasn't around for most of it?" she asked, sticking her tongue out at the boy. "But! We have this whole year left. We can make sure it's not going to be boring. Especially with that ship on the lake... I think we need to go and check that out at some point. With Pirate hats. And swords"

Iris was being serious. Completely and utterly serious.

But only because she wanted to wear a pirate hat.

Even though it wasn't necessarily a pirate ship.

Deciding it wasn't worth the hassle at the moment he sat down in one of the available seats nearer to the middle of the table.

That was the embarrassing truth. Samira was ashamed that she wasn't perfect at everything like her cousins. It irritated her and she was a little ashamed.

Samira nodded vigorously. "I hope not, too!" Samira was not very fond of Muggles. Neither was her family. They about pitched a fit when they heard the news of last term.

Samira felt her posture relax when she saw that Rozan had finally dropped the Slytherin bashing. A feeling of pride swelled up in Samira. It was the satisfaction of knowing it was she that changed Rozan's mind. She was Rozan's first Slytherin friend, and she knew first impressions were everything. She was extremely happy it was successful. At least, somewhat. Samira had a feeling that she and Rozan could become very good friends, so that's why when Rozan asked her to show her around later, Samira gave a wide, eager smile and nodded happily. "I would love to!" The prospect of a new friend was exciting to Samira. Of course, she had plenty of friends, but not one specific best friend. She only hesitated slightly at the thought of what Rozan's reaction would be when she found out they would be sleeping in the dungeons. It really wasn't as bad as it sounded. Samira actually liked sleeping under the lake. The lighting was comforting, and warming charms-which Samira was an expert on-made sure they were never cold. Buuuuut...she would wait to share that little detail...later.

Samira cocked her head to one side. Teacher warnings. Hmm..."Well, all the teachers are really nice, in their own way. But you should be careful when you come across Professor Lafay. Also known as the Head of Slytherin House. But I think you'll be fine. She's not one to mess with, but if you do what you need to do in class and don't ask pointless questions, it'll be okay." And favorite class? Well, she didn't think Divination would count, since she was rubish at it. And she didn't like animals, or plants, or Muggles..."My favorite class would have to be between Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Working with wands, anything to do with that." Samira liked the first hand action. "What do you think you're most looking forward to?"

She stifled a giggle. It was true, a ship on the water wasn't that big of a deal, but there was more to it than that. "That's the thing. No one knows why it's there. And it's not like it was cruising along on it's merry way. It appeared. There was no one on it, either. It's been searched for Dark Magic, and is supposedly clean, but a lot of people are apprehensive. Including me." Samira didn't know why, but it really freaked her out.

I like Professor Bishop, because she's really patient and everything, and I guess Divination is interesting subject. I'm not saying I believe a lot of the stuff. I guess I do enjoy it. But the thing is..." OK, she would have to admit it. "I really am rubish at Divination. I can't predict anything for my life."

Helena giggled (or laughed?), but not because Samira said that she couldn't predict anything. She thought about her Divination skills. She was... more than terrible. A total disaster. It was one of the subjects that didn't require only studying. Like flying. But no more flying anymore, now that Helena was a second year. See? Another good reason not to be a first year. "Don't worry," the girl finally said, grinning. "I don't think you, or anyone else, can be worse than me at that subject."

And no muggles coming from that weird ship! Because they said so. They surely had enough muggles last term. Lessons, homework... muggles even at Hogwarts! That was WAY too much.

Samira let out a small, inaudible sigh of relief. It was good to know that she wasn't the only one who was dreadful at Divination. "Ok," she smiled. "That makes me feel better." She drummed her fingers on the table. "So, are you going to try out for the Quiddich team?" As much as Samira adored Quiddich, she didn't think she would ever try out for the team. Too much extra work and lost time. Time that she frequently needed.

"Ah, don't worry," Helena smiled, trying to make Samira feel better. At least a little bit. "I'm sure we'll get better." And even if they didn't, there were SO many other subjects at which they could be the best, right?

And... Helena almost burst into laughter when Samira asked her about the Quidditch team. "I'm not a... let's say fan of broomsticks. And flying." And she couldn't even stand the idea of flying hiiiiigh, and having the possibility of falling and getting some other scars. She already had one, and that was enough. "So it's a definitely no." No Quidditch team. No flying. No broomsticks. No nothing. "Are you going to the tryouts?"

Typical Monty. Even now she still didn't fail to show her distaste whenever he ruffled her hair. You'd think she would have gotten used to it by now, but there was that everlasting nose crinkle that he loved.

And she never said he couldn't boss people around. That was definitely one 'antic' he could go through with.

His summer was boring and typical exactly because he didn't see Monty.

His mum and dad had been off in their own world the whole summer, spending a curious amount of time locked up in their room and during the first week back at home Jimbo had already lost count of how many times he was asked to leave the house for their privacy. And when the girls from his neighbourhood saw him out so often, they took this as the chance to tail him.

He'd have thought those darn annoying girls from his neighbourhood would have left him alone once they grew up and matured but it seemed that now that they were all older they were more stuck to him than ever. Last time he'd gone to the muggle mall to try and get away from them he'd actually heard them giggling outside the bathroom stall, daring each other to peek over through the door. He'd burst out of there, telling them they needed professional help if they had the gall to follow him into the boy's loo.

His muggle friends weren't any help though. They found the whole thing hilarious and thrust him into any situation where he might be crowded by the girls. Eventually, one of the girls had the courage to come up and ask him if he'd like to go on a date. He was so shocked at the idea that all he could do was walk away, an action which unfortunately made the girl cry the rest of the day.

He realized after that he might have said yes if it weren't for Monty.

Jimbo was exasperated by the whole repetition of his home life and spent almost every single day of the summer trying to have a good time with his friends before the girls made their presence known, thinking about Hogwarts and how long it was before he got to go back.

But now that's it here...

Shaking his head a bit, he pushed the thoughts aside. He was with Monty now, so he should enjoy it.

He grinned at what she said. "That sounds like something I'd come up with, Monty." He looked at her for a bit, thinking. If there was ever anyone to cheer him up... "Sounds like a great idea." he answered, "Can we decorate each other's pirate hats?"

He supposed he'd been too busy sulking over his last year that he hadn't even thought about going out with a bang and having his best year at Hogwarts yet. It seemed like a great possibility, that is, as long as Monty was permanently included in that.

Orabelle shrugged the comment off like it was nothing, because it really was nothing. "You're welcome," she said nonchalantly as she readjusted one of the many platinum rings on her fingers. It had been a bit crooked and it needed to be perfectly in the center. "It's really nothing," Orabelle said simply. Because everyone should know that, it was a simply rule in life. "Crush those who wants to crush you, the first rule in life you must know," Orabelle said. She had followed that her entire life and it brought her everywhere she needed to be. But here.

She watched the girl twirl her hair. "Rule number two would be, don't mess your hair up like that," Orabelle said with a look of disdain. Given she touched her hair sometimes but for good reason. Not to mess up half her hair and leave the rest perfect. "It's the truth, you know you can't trust her with much," Orabelle said, looking at the blonde straight in the eyes. Orabelle certainly didn't, it would be a disaster. "Two out of three are my favorite things, guess which one doesn't belong," Orabelle said. Quidditch? What self respecting girl played that sport?!

"Shopping, horseback riding, socializing, partying and photography as well as the arts," Orabelle rattled off. "But mostly shopping," Orabelle said with a smirk on her face. Because who didn't love shopping?

For a little while, Iris just watched her friend. He didn't even seem to be focusing on her. More like he'd zoned out for a minute. The blonde smirked to herself, raising her eyebrow. Jimbo actually wasn't with her, mentally. He'd buggered off to his thoughts, hadn't he!?! Pssh. The cheek of it.

Iris folded her arms on the table, and lent her chin on her arms so she was looking up at Jimbo. As he came out of his little day-dreamy moment, Iris grinned - obviously amused. As tempted as she was to ask him what'd distracted his attention so much, Iris decided against it. For now. She'd ask him later.

"It's four years of friendship. Kinda does that to you. Makes you THINK like the other person." She replied to his comment, seriously. Then she grinned a bit and sat up straight. Ah. Jimbo. He truly was her silliest friend. And she wouldn't swap him for anyone in the world.

OF COURSE it was a great idea! Iris had come up with it! Monty really did doubt Jimbo's brain sometimes. She laughed at his suggestion, "Definitely. Yours'll be pink." Picking up a butter knife from the table, she briefly twirling it around. "And swords! We need to make swords, because we can't go into a mysterious ship without them!"

Yes, they had wands. But swords were cooler. And if they were going to pretend to be pirates then they needed to do it properly. With swords.

Jimbo laughed, a true laugh. He couldn't even remember the last time that happened. Probably the last time he saw Monty. Still grinning, he answered "Of course. Pink is the greatest colour in the universe." Especially when it was paired with green. It was the ultimate combination and nothing beat it, ever. Not that Monty would agree. She'd say the ultimate combination of colours are the colours of the rainbow.

"Don't worry," he said to her, sitting up straighter and getting into the conversation. "I didn't forget the swords. I want mine to be silver. And it has to have cool green and pink gems, to match my Monty-original hat."

He too, grabbed a butter knife and waved it around to mimick a sword. He pretended he was having a sword fight with Monty, jabbing and making sound effects.

"We've come to take your booty!" he announced, giving a preview of their ship invasion. "Surrender everything! Arrrrrg!"

"Yeah, you're probably right." said Samira, now with her confidence back in place. "It's not like half of the stuff is real anyways." Yup, Samira was more into the actual usage of wand type of magic. Like DADA, or Charms.

Samira's eyebrows shot up. Not. A. Fan. Of. Flying?! Gassssp! "Oh my Salzar!" exclaimed Samira, using a saying she hasn't said since she was 9. "How can you not like flying?" Samira absolutely loved flying. The feeling of being above everyone on the ground with the wind in her face and her hair flowing behind her when she made a dive or turn...was wonderful. How could anyone not like that? "Please at least tell me you watch the games." Not flying was one thing, but watching your House and cheering them on was a completely different matter. And was she going to try out? "No," answered Samira. "I don't think I am. I like watching the games, and flying to the fun of it. But I'm just way to busy for practices and what not." Plus she didn't want to screw up in front of everyone. Not that that would ever happen. Pfffft
