Well, obviously she wasn't new. Hogwarts was her second home. Samira tossed a curl behind her shoulder as she sat up straighter. "Slytherin House," she paused slightly for dramatic effect. "Is the best House you could hope to be sorted into at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," said Samira was confidence and conviction. And that's the truth. It was definitely better than some of the other houses. "We are known for our cunningness, perseverance, and ability to watch out for ourselves." Some would call it 'self-preservation', which it was. Samira called it being smart.
"The best house?" She repeated. As opposed to Hufflepuff??! The third year coughed shortly and looked away lazily at the other Slytherin students across the table. However she looked back towards Samira when she explained what it was to be a Slytherin. Okay, her reasons sounded pretty positive and fitted her quite well, but that wasn't the complete perception she got from the house, "I was under the impression that this was the 'mean' house." A place where all the bad seeds were put.
"I take it you enjoy Hogwarts, then. I am kinda excited... but I really wanted to be in Hufflepuff... or Gryffindor... or.." Ravenclaw. She decided not to say the last one, because these Slytherins may attack her for lacking in sooo much Snake pride. Rozan coughed shortly again. It was her symbol for when things got a little awkward.

Mina smiled and leaned into him. "Well, I figured I'd come to you this time," she replied. It wasn't fair that he had to come find her. She was a big girl and it was about time she ventured outside her comfort zone a bit. "Besides, I missed you and thought it would be nice to come see my boyfriend at his table."
Her own table was fine and dandy, but she wanted to reconnect with her friends and her own table held only a few friends. Friends that were already busy catching up with their other friends. It only made sense for her to seek out the other friends she had and see them at the moment. The most important, obviously, was seating beside her.
Evan smiled at her. This was the first time they were sitting together in the opening feast ever. Yes, they had been together in a feast before, and only ONE feast ever, but it had been the closing feast, a sad one. Now they were ready to START a whole new term together... and it excited him.
"You figured all right, then," he said, grinning. He wondered if she was still down about his denial of a contract offer, but decided not to bring it up again. He didn't want to burden her with anything... Thus, after a moment's pause, he asked "Which classes will you be taking?" It would be great to see her at classes as well.

Pathetic. Iris wasn't going to stand up and make it heard here though. She didn't need to. Besides, the best place to hold meetings is in the Common Room, everyone knows that.
In between looking at her plate, glancing across to the doors (in the hope to see a best-friendly face) and staring at the staff table, Iris had really nothing to do. She just sat there, waiting for one of her friends to show up...
Listening to Evan - as he wasn't that far away from her - talk to younger kids, the Head Girl thought to herself that perhaps she should go talk to some of the Firsties, too. But then Evan said something that kinda hurt, oddly.
He's THE Prefect, is he? Well...
Leaning down the table a little, Iris cocked her head at her CO-Prefect. "The Slytherin Prefect, are you, Cartwright?" Iris' mouth curled into a sour smile, "Oooh, no; you're not. I'm still the female prefect. My title is Head Girl and Prefect." Iris eyed Evan for a moment, then leant back in her seat. She didn't even bother introducing herself to the kid Evan was talking to...
Hearing the scoff, Evan rolled his eyes. If she thought she could do BETTER than him, she should have spoken instead of leaving the new people to wonder who was who. At least he had made himself known now. Hmpf.
Nodding confidentally at her question that obviously expected an unsure answer, it was his turn to scoff this time. So she was so AH-MAZING that she was the both? Well, he didn't buy it.
"Still, though, you are more of a Head Girl. And I AM the prefect." Got any problems? Good. Jealous, maybe? Nope, never. He was already better than her.

After clarifying that HE was THE prefect, Evan turned to the new people again. Caught off at the bow, he hesitated for a moment and the outcome was an awkward head movement that made no sense at all. Yeeah... This was people's prefect. In an attempt to cover his mistake, he quickly said "Nice to meet you too." Bis--what? Do not adress her with her name... You are 'YOU' now... girl... Blushing at the statement, he said "Well, kind of?" He wasn't going to deny it, of course. Only a little show of modesty, and it was all fine. Hehe.

Not to mention the fact that he was a prefect. Staying on good terms with people with power was always a good idea in her mind. "Evan," she answered with a smile. "My summer was...surprising, yet really good." Again, she'd just leave things at that. "I'm guessing yours was good, too?" He seemed to be in a good mood, at least. Then again, Evan Cartwright was always in a good mood.
Great, at least Sierra was talking to him. Answering her smile with his own, he only nodded her reply. There was nothing to comment on that answer, was there? Distracted with the people talking around for a moment, he turned to her, surprised.
"Oh, mine?" He would bet HIS summer was much more full of surprises than hers. His summer could even be the busiest... and definitely the most dangerous.
"Mine was full of surprises as well. But... most of them, at least, turned out to be pretty." At that his eyes travelled to the Gryffindor table to find Sophie. That was the only bad outcome of his summer. The rest had been somehow nice.

Sorry? Why was she even apologising? Frowning, Evan muttered "It's OK, no need to be sorry..." Seriously... Don't apologise unless you've done something really wrong.

Aww, how nice. Family tradition. Evan grinned. It was good to know the new kids' families had also been in Slytherin; the new ones knew the value of that snake crest as well, and usually behaved accordingly.
"Great that you like here," he said, nodding. "Is he a seventh year or something?" ...why studying so hard? Study enough, and do the best you can.

Mina had to admit, it was rather strange to be looking at her own house table and not seating at it, but she wanted to sit with Evan. It was the start of their term back together and it was rather fitting. It only made sense to gravitate to those that you were comfortable with after all. She could catch up with her friends in their common room anyway.
"Well, you know how I do enjoy being right," she teased with a small wink. All the concern over what was said on the train was now draining from her. She wanted to focus on them being together at the moment now. "I have a lot to catch up on, so I'm sure I'll be taking as many as I can." She was rather the overachiever and she knew that she would be probably in all the classes.

It was a funny thing that. He remembered not wanting to come in the first place. He wasn't too much of a grouch about it when he was actually on the platform, about to start his first year at Hogwarts but he had thrown a fit when his parents first told him.
He had liked being home-schooled, liked lazing around and wreaking havoc upon his neighbourhood and couldn't understand why he had to leave if he was doing perfectly fine studying at home. His parents had convinced him soon enough though. And now Jimbo couldn't even imagine what it would have been like if he had stayed. He couldn't imagine a life without having come to Hogwarts, without having met Iris Beaumont, without the vast playground that was the castle and it's grounds.
And he still didn't even know what he was going to do after Hogwarts. He was heading into his NEWT year and he didn't have a clue what he meant to do with whatever NEWTs he might earn. The thought of being thrust out into the daily life of a working adult was frightening - how was he supposed to get on if he had no clue what he was doing?
Still contemplating all these things he walked into the Great Hall completely immersed in his thoughts and he sat down at his respective table, staring at nothing and not even bothering to find anyone that he might know. He didn't really fancy much of a chat at the moment.
Iris's attention was dragged away from Kurumi and her cookies when she saw a familiar blondey make his way into the Great Hall.
JIMBO!!
Finally! One of three best friends have ARRIVED. But... Jimbo looked terrible. Sad and miserable. That wasn't good. Iris didn't like seeing her friends look like that.
Taking a couple of Kurumi's cookies, Iris smiled at the girl and made a beeline for the boy. The blonde girl ruffled Jimbo's hair as she sat down next to him, Iris smiled at him. He looked more miserable up close than he did from a distance. Iris frowned. Then, looking down at the two cookies in her hand Iris offered one of them to her best friend, with a small smile too.

Hogwarts and Beauxbatons were different in many ways, though the gathering hall was much less of an eyesore than her previous school's.
The Head Girl eyed this new kid. "You think it's confusing? ... Well, you'll get used to it all soon enough." She nodded, and fiddled with the fork in front of her. "Though, I'll tell you this... You've landed yourself into Hogwarts' best House. So, welcome to Slytherin." Iris hoped the girl didn't question that statement. Iris didn't need to back it up with evidence, but she would if she needed to. "I'm Iris, by the way. Prefect and Head Girl."

"What, will he explode?" Hugo giggled. Like a whale on a beach. "Well, she is a Gryffindor," he said. He didn't know much more about her. She looked like Fee though
"Of course! Where HAVE you been to not know about these when I do! ... Unless they were all from before you started at Hogwarts. Which is unlikely. But possible. Iris, shut up rambling." Iris grinned and rolled her eyes. The boy needed to get out of the library some more.
Iris nodded. "Well, I'm supposing he might. Which is why I don't want to be close by!" Hehehe. But in all seriousness, Iris was not looking forward to DADA this term. "Yes. Appropriately placed too, it seems."

As Fee asked how long her and Aaron had been together, Iris shook her head. "No, no... It's fine to ask. It's not like it's something personal. Ahh. Geez. Lemme think..." The blonde started to count on her fingers, as if filing through her memories. "Well... Everything started out in our second year, on my birthday. The romance, I mean. So... Officially, three years... but I count it as four and a half, because that's when everything started." Iris smiled, fondly. They were a fantastic four and a half years. Well, for the most part. Andi, one of the new first years, sat down, not expecting much. She wasn't necessarily nervous about meeting new people, it's just, she didn't know who to talk to first.
Tommy finished his mouthfull of cheesecake and moved over "No of course not" he smiled "My name is Tommy Black"
''Ah, nice to meet you, Tommy.'' he said. He looked at al the food on the table. ''I'm Toby, by the way. Toby Jason.'' He was wondering what he should eat. This was the most food on one table he'd ever seen in his life. ''What do you think about Hogwarts so far?''

Bissy eyed the snake-boy for a moment and gave him a curt smile. "He seems to be a nice person" she thought. "You can call me Bissy if you like, Evan. Karta wandered back towards the Slytherin table after leaving her cousin to chat happily with her group at the Gryffindor table. While Katra wasn't necessarily anti-social, she still wasn't too fond of crowds. Finding an empty seat at a more secluded end, she sat down and opened her book once more.
Mina had to admit, it was rather strange to be looking at her own house table and not seating at it, but she wanted to sit with Evan. "Oh, the opposite of me, then," he said with a curt chuckle. Sure, she was going to try to be the best--she was a Ravenclaw and Mina. It only made sense. "I'll take only the basics to have more free time." But at least he was going to see her at the classes he was taking, so it was great.
"So, did Hogwarts change in the last two years?" he asked with a small smile on his face. He couldn't notice the small differences, but she could.

Merlin, was she never going to stop? Why couldn't she just accept the fact that she had been MOVED to the position of Head Girl while he was the ONLY prefect? Evan resisted the urge to wrinkle up his nose, or make a silly face at her. Really... just accept it, and be done.
"Mate," he started with a tired tone, as if he was talking to a two-year-old. "A head girl still obviously has to look out for her house, but not because she's also a prefect--merely because she is the. HEAD. Girl. The head of the school." Got it?

Already done with Iris, Evan turned his attention to a lonely-looking new person. It was one of the newly sorteds, and she wasn't into talking to people much... Thus, both to get rid of Iris and to talk to her, he moved towards the girl and sat across her.
"Hello," he said, offering a hand-shake. "Evan Cartwright, the prefect." Never gonna grow up, nope. Not with Iris.

Jade looked up from the cookie she was eating. She didn't see anyone at first, but with a room as crowded as this one, it was hard to see anything. And it didn't help that she was so short.
As Elle got closer Jade could see who it was. "Hey, Elle!" She said, waving.
"Hey! How's everything going for you so far?" asked Elle. She was excited to see one person she knew.
Jade smiled at the person in front of her. Assuming she was a boy, she shook his hand. "I'm Jade," she said, wondering if she had seen her fall. After she had pulled her hand away, she picked a cookie up off the table and started to munch on it.
Dev smiled and took a cookie from the plate that the girl, Jade, did. "I'm quite fond of sweets," she said. "So how did you end up in Slytherin? Pureblood as well, I presume?"

"Great that you like here," he said, nodding. "Is he a seventh year or something?" ...why studying so hard? Study enough, and do the best you can.
Dev nodded at the prefect's question. "Yeah, he's in seventh year. He's taking a lot of classes, wants to be an Auror when he graduates. He's pretty serious about it, so he's not letting anything distract him."

Matt figured that TJ needed some time to catch up with old friends and to think about what he mentioned earlier so he got up then began to wander down the long table, it seemed there had been more students from other houses sitting at the table than actual Slytherins which was a little weird. Stopping at a rather secluded end of the table, noticing a girl who had been reading a book; the question remained whether or not she wanted to be interrupted although he figured that he may as well at least attempt a conversation. "Hey there, I apologize in advance for interrupting but since you looked a little lonely; I figured I would come over and talk to you." Such formalities coming from his mouth, it definitely wasn't something he was used to.
Bissy? Yes, thank Merlin. Evan would gladly do that. Grinning, he said "Okay Bissy," eagerly. Yeah, he was never going to learn her full name. She was Bissy now. The end of story.
"I'm a seventh," he said, pausing for a moment. She wasn't a firstie, clearly. "How about you?" Fifth? Or maybe even at the same age as him...
She grinned back when she saw the boy grin. "Yeah, that sounds better." she said playing with her hair. She had a perfect feeling that this boy and she could get along well though she didn't know where that feeling stemmed from. HEHE.
"So you are a seventh. I'm not a fifth but a sixth year snake. I was at Durmstrang for five years. My parents wanted me to complete my education at Hogwarts." the blonde girl said. She would rather Evan had been at the same age as her. He would have to leave the school at the end of this term to her regret.
Charisma for the Devil? I think so. Wicked Never Looked So Good.

Katra glanced up as a shadow was cast across her book. Her bright eyes fixed on the tall boy who had approached her for a long moment before going back down to her book. She finished up the paragraph she was on before closing her book and looking up at him again. Her lips curved into a slight smile.
"What makes you think I'm lonely?" she asked, her quiet, French-lilt sounding playful.
"Ball?" Mordred repeated with a disgusted tone. "Hate those boring events. Seriously." he said. No one, not even Aurora can't blame the boy. He and his family always go to balls and other formal parties. "Plus the fact that I have to wear a dress robe." he added.
"You never know, maybe they'll go less formal this year... hopefully!" Aurora made a big show of crossing her fingers and looking to the sky. "Oh if only I was good at divination!" She said dramatically, placing the back of one hand to her forehead. "Then we could know for sure!" She laughed.

"Just because some of us can eat loads without shooting up a couple of inches is no reason to tease us." Aurora joked. "Maybe he has a fast metabolism. It can be a real pain in the backside sometimes." It was true, she had to eat LOADS before she was full.

"Whatever happened to them anyway? Missing? How can they be missing?" Mordred asked.
Mordred then nodded. "Yes we should. That ninja ship won't let me sleep properly." he thought. Thinking about something too much makes his sleep messed up.

Hugo smiled and looked around, feeling flattered. "Well, thanks... You are really cool too," he said and smiled once again. He was going to say that he was going to miss her, but that would just bring the future topic up again. Plus, a whole year was LONG. "Common room parties?" Hugo chuckled. "I don't know but I've never seen such things in the common room," he said. "But maybe I was in the library when that happened..." Balance. Chyeah.
"What, will he explode?" Hugo giggled. Like a whale on a beach. "Well, she is a Gryffindor," he said. He didn't know much more about her. She looked like Fee though
"No but you clearly have some critique on the way I treat her," he said angrily. "Get a girlfriend yourself so that I can tell you all the things that you're doing wrong, because you have no right to say those things after about a week of observation," he said and turned back to the table. "Hi my name is Hugo, now can you please stop annoying me?" he asked rather clearly. He couldn't imagine why Fee would want to be a friend of this stuck-up, arrogant kid.
" Well, Fee is my friend and she should be treated right" William told Hugo." I do like your idea if me getting a girlfriend" William said to Hugo. " Of course, that could be a problem because there are so many pretty and sweet girls at HogWarts" William explained to Hugo. William winked at Fee. Do not worry, I will ignore you and you will love it" William explained to Hugo,

Fee chuckled a little at Iris comment."Well then these awesome people have gread senses",she said wiggling her eyebrows. The head girl was definitely someone the blonde would miss next term.As she noticed the look Iris gave William the Slytherin sighed a little, this really didnt start of too well.Awww they had started as friends too? That was soo sweet."How long are you together now?",the third year asked a little curiously,"if you dont mind me asking."To be honest,Fee was kinda looking up to them.
"Ohhh what a nice coincedence my name is Fee too",the blonde giggled a little and tilted her head to the side,"i guess i can sit here then."If someone listended to them they would think these two were mental. But who cared?Fee was having fun. When her boyfriend made that sound you only knew from people in adverts, the Slytherin laughed."Delicious water huh?",she winked. That was his magic?Well then he should never stop doing it."You are too cute did you know that?",the third year smiled widely,"i am probably the luckiest girl in the world."But the blonde didnt like the way how her boyfriend looked at the Gryffindor table.William and him would never become friends.Siigh.
Ohh yeees, this whole thing about the ship was freaking exciting. How could it be that a ship just apeared out of nothing?Just like that?!"Mysterious circumastences?",the blonde chuckled quitely,"now that would be something.Maybe we are a part of a huuuge adventure."That would be sooo cool, the Slytherin really couldnt wait for more informations about the ship."The only bad thing about is i wont be able to swim now",she laughed a little. No tanning,no swimming ohhh sweet summer.
Glady Hugo didnt freak out about William. There was no need to fight right now.The blonde was actually really proud that her boyfriend could control his temper. But then he said something that made the girl's eyes grow wide. Hugo had just said he loved her.L.o.v.e.d.OHHH MY GLITTTEEER.The Slytherin really needed to concentrate on not freaking out and jumping around because she was happy. Now that would look really silly.Instead of doing that she scooted a little closer to her boyfriend."love you too",she whispered smiling hugely.
Fee heard a familiar voice not to far away and grinned widely as she recognized the red head to whom the voice belonged.Jumping up from her seat the girl tipped the firstie on the shoulder.Oh my glitter, little P was here.Yaaaaay."Heeeyyy sweetheart",the third year said happily,"cant wait to share the dorm with you."it would be sooo much fun and Fee was really looking forward to it.
" I am findinding HogWarts a little better now" William told Fee. " It sure helps to have aq certain hot blonde Slytherin help e get over my nervousness" William explained to Fee." I should not have sid that, Hugo will get mad at me and he told me I can't be your friend" William said to Fee. I really like to hang out with you and my cute red-head Peyton" William sighed.
"Whatever happened to them anyway? Missing? How can they be missing?" Mordred asked.
Mordred then nodded. "Yes we should. That ninja ship won't let me sleep properly." he thought. Thinking about something too much makes his sleep messed up.
"No idea, they're just... missing apparently. Scary huh?" She wiggled her fingers like a stereotypical-scary-thing as she grinned. "Pretty exciting though. I just love a good mystery!" And excitement and adventure... her brother had teased her that she would be in Gryffindor, though she knew that her talent with words and her ability to manipulate situations to her own advantage would help.
Aurora gazed down the table, trying to pick out people she recognised. "I think that's the head girl, I walked past her telling someone off in the leaky cauldron." She pointed at the tall, blonde girl and caught a glimpse of her badge. "Yep, definitely head girl. And a prefect too apparently. I wonder who our other prefect is." She looked around her for someone exerting some sort of authority.
Sauntering over to the Slytherin table, Kyle smiled she was on a mission.
"Hello" she smiled speaking to anyone who would listen. Biting her lip she continued - luckily not tripping on the way over as she had when she'd traveled over to the Gryffindor table.
Brilliant. Clumsy should be her nickname, she thought before clearing her throat, now for the hard part getting people to join her cause.
"Hello, anyone want to join me in well - investigating the boat in the middle of the lake sometime?" She asked smiling, hopeful she wanted to have an adventure filled term this year but hopefully it wasn't anything menacing. And maybe these Slytherins would have more of an adventuring attitude then those she'd asked earlier from her own house and the other tables. She hoped.
"I'm Kyleigh Manning for those of you who don't know me - and first years congratulations on making it into Slytherin" she smiled happily. She'd save the nickname for later...now was later right? "You can call me Kyle though" now - the waiting game. Maybe people she knew already would take the bate and they would become something like the Three Musketeers or some other adventuring party? A group of scally wag pirates maybe? She chuckled at the thought smiling.

Alex coudn't really say he was superduper happy right then. He had the weird urge to eat the food and then take his broom to fly to Ireland. Ellie wasn't feeling good at all and who knew how long she would... How long she... He frowned and tried to keep his attention at the Staff table to see when Tate would hold his speech but it was difficult concentrating on that when the time he had with Ellie was running out. Noone knew how long she had left. *head!desk*
He'd promised her not to be all moody when she returned but how could he not be moody when he was going to lose her? Everyone was going to lose her. ARGH! He focused on the students near him instead, perhaps there was a conversation he could join in on. He never was a sad kid, he was the happy crazy one. So if there was an opening for that, he would go wild and crazy...

... But when he was about to do that, someone held their hands over his eyes. How was he supposed to go wild and crazy when he was BLIND?!
Guess who? Now this was a thinker. Alex was silent for a while before gaping wide.

"Maybe we'll hear from the Headmaster about it." Mordred replied as he looked at the Headmaster.
Mordred then looked at the girl Aurora was referring to. "I have no idea actually." he said as he too noticed her badges. "I've met a lot of other first years back at Diagon Alley. They were sorted in to different house though." he added.

"I didn't meet many people in Diagon Alley, I suppose I don't come across as the friendliest of people sometimes, especially when I'm with my mother. I should really find some first year Slytherin girls, I mean, I don't know anyone who I'll be sharing a dormitory with yet. But I suppose that can wait until tonight." She too looked at the headmaster, wondering about the ship.
