She could catch up with her friends in their common room anyway.

"Well, you know how I do enjoy being right," she teased with a small wink. All the concern over what was said on the train was now draining from her. She wanted to focus on them being together at the moment now. "I have a lot to catch up on, so I'm sure I'll be taking as many as I can." She was rather the overachiever and she knew that she would be probably in all the classes.
Evan grinned at her teasing. Yes, he knew Mina enjoyed to be right. Well, who didn't? Squeezing her hand, he only looked at her and felt happy for the first time in two years that he didn't have to wonder about her in the back of his mind.

"Oh, the opposite of me, then," he said with a curt chuckle. Sure, she was going to try to be the best--she was a Ravenclaw and Mina. It only made sense. "I'll take only the basics to have more free time." But at least he was going to see her at the classes he was taking, so it was great.

"So, did Hogwarts change in the last two years?" he asked with a small smile on his face. He couldn't notice the small differences, but she could.

... God. Iris was so immature when it came to Evan. And it wasn't even the good kind of immature, like with Jimbo. But it wasn't her fault that the boy managed to hit all her nerves, multiple times.

"Obviously the Head Girl title is more important. But that is school-wide. Within Slytherin, I'm Prefect." Well, Lafay hadn't worded it like that, but it's how Iris saw the whole situation. It kept her equal to Evan in the Common Room, that way. See. She wasn't trying to up do him by having two badges. It was for equality and ... stuff. "Yes, you're the prefect. You're the male prefect." She'd tried last year, but letting go of their past just wasn't going to happen, was it? Being bitter towards each other was apparently more fun than being polite to each other.
Merlin, was she never going to stop? Why couldn't she just accept the fact that she had been MOVED to the position of Head Girl while he was the ONLY prefect? Evan resisted the urge to wrinkle up his nose, or make a silly face at her. Really... just accept it, and be done.

"Mate," he started with a tired tone, as if he was talking to a two-year-old. "A head girl still obviously has to look out for her house, but not because she's also a prefect--merely because she is the. HEAD. Girl. The head of the school." Got it?

Already done with Iris, Evan turned his attention to a lonely-looking new person. It was one of the newly sorteds, and she wasn't into talking to people much... Thus, both to get rid of Iris and to talk to her, he moved towards the girl and sat across her.

"Hello," he said, offering a hand-shake. "Evan Cartwright, the prefect." Never gonna grow up, nope. Not with Iris.

If a person is perfect, he should say out loud that he is perfect. Hehe. Then, she asked running her eye over his face: "Which grade are you in by the way?"
Bissy? Yes, thank Merlin. Evan would gladly do that. Grinning, he said "Okay Bissy," eagerly. Yeah, he was never going to learn her full name. She was Bissy now. The end of story.

"I'm a seventh," he said, pausing for a moment. She wasn't a firstie, clearly. "How about you?" Fifth? Or maybe even at the same age as him...
