So if you can't explain it to me good luck telling someone like Violet what a telephone is."

Christopher nodded in agreement. "Well it's more likely than not that Muggle things won't be a part of my life if I live with you, so I guess it doesn't really matter anyway," he said. Selina laughed at his sentiments toward Violet and the whole telephone hypothetical. It was true, a shoe would most likely be thrown at him if he attempted to even try to explain it to her. 'Course Violet had hundreds of shoes... so what shoe he would get in the face or back would be an interesting thing to think about, "Yeah, although if you asked her... it would make for some really good entertainment on my end."

Then he asked about Driver's education, "Sure, I don't see why not? Although why would you want to drive one of those Muggle death traps when you could just apparate when you get your license or even Floo?"

Selina shifted awkwardly when he asked about the issues between the Draven and Skylar family. To be honest she really didn't know about the issues very detailed between their two fathers. All she did know was that they went to school together and did not get on very well and that there had been a fight between the two that had been very heated. She knew that Connor Draven and Jake Skylar were not on good terms with one another. Even her mother had commented a few times that Selina wouldn't understand, it was just a long history. "I don't know honestly. All I know is that our two Dad's don't really get on and that Mr. Draven is a scumbag via my Dad. But then Elektra says that my Dad is a mixed mut with no morals. Its a long standing rivalry between our two families. So having Elektra be one of my best friends gets awkward when family is around."

Except for one little tid bit that confused him. "........... A mixed mutt with no morals...? What does that even mean?" he asked, very unsure about why Elektra would say something that sounded so rude and just plain mean, because he hadn't an idea what it did mean at all! "I thought your dad was a pure blood." He recalled that had come up in conversation once before. So why would she call him a mixed mutt?

At the mention of car costs, he shrugged shyly. "Kind of, yeah. At least our family couldn't afford a very good one," he said blushing as he thought of their old beat up station wagon. "....Cotton picking mind?" he asked, smirking, though the blush hadn't quite left his face. "Aww, Sel! Come on! It'll be so fun! Plus, I know you'll change your mind once the time comes. I thought you liked going on adventures. Or maybe you just aren't brave enough," he teased her.

With a slight spring to her step, ~~Salander~~ Lara made her way out of the library. She's even began skipping, something she has never done as Salander, at least not since he hit his teens.

She caught her reflection in the mirror as she skipped by, then decided to skip back to look at herself. Looking at herself as a girl was so odd, yet at this point started to feel familiar. There was this general lightness to girls that was starting to feel comfortable, a kind of grace that seemed to be denied most of the male species.

She started to twirl in place just so she can watch her skirt swish back and forth. It was purely amusing for her, a kind of reaction that was oddly different back when he was a boy. As she readied herself for another jump-twirl, a curious thing caught her eye....

... just when did Lara's jaw get so dark?

She gasped and peered closer into the mirror. The scruff... it was coming back! She watched the 5 o'clock shadow get more and more visible, as part of her facial structure started to get fuller and more masculine. "Its wearing off already?" she whispered, cupping her hands to her cheeks consciously. She had better get back to the Potions classroom, because the last thing she wanted was to have Salander be seen rushing down corridors in a skirt!

My Dad is Mixed, ergo he has a lot of magical blood but not enough to be considered a pureblood. My Dad's Mom is a Mixed Blood which means that her father was a Pureblood, which is a hundred percent magical blood, and her mother was a Half-Blood, which is fifty percent magical blood. If you do the math that makes my grandmother seventy-five percent magical blood. But then my Dad's father was a Half-Blood so if you add that to the seventy-five percent magical blood you get that my Dad is 62.5 percent magical blood. He's a mixed blood. And I'm even more mixed than my Dad. So that is a derogitory term for someone who is neither Half nor Pure."

And then he poked fun of her bravery, "I am plenty brave! I'm just not plenty stupid. Going on those kind of "adventures" is suicide."

Christopher looked at Selina, almost amused as he put it all together. "That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Ever. So what if you aren't completely a halfblood or a pureblood? We're all the same. We can all do magic, heck, even Muggles aren't so different," he said, nearly laughing at how silly the whole thing seemed. But when he remembered that his own friend had said that about her best friend's father, he thought about it very hard. Finally after a rather long pause, Christopher said thoughtfully, "So does that mean I'm a mudblood with no morals, or what? Because I certainly do have morals, just as your father certainly does. I also find it incredibly hard to believe that Elektra would say something like that. She seems like such a nice girl. Spunky, but nice."

The more they spoke of it, the more Christopher actually wanted to drive. Especially with his hopefully soon to be sister. "Come on, Sel! I've ridden in those things hundreds of times! Muggles use them just as much as wizards apperate and use Floo! Cars are made for safety, there even about a bazillion laws just for auto safety! Please Selina, you'll never know that you hate it or like it if you never even try!" he said, trying his best to persuade her.

Yes, it had been another one of those days. A day when the walls felt like they were closing in around her and air ceased to exist...

Marilyn was turning into a walking panic attack.

She'd tried to break things off with Rafe...but he wouldn't go away. He wouldn't let her forget, so she'd taken to staying in the Slytherin dorms. Seeing Rafe was hard...and he wasn't accepting that she just needed to be away from him.

Chancing it, the blonde had decided upon a walk, hoping against everything that she did NOT run into him. Things were weird. She was in a weird place right now...and him pushing her was NOT helping...

Sighing, she stepped onto the top of the fourth floor corridor, looking around anxiously. Marilyn didn't sense him near, which had been another weirdness she wasn't prepared to deal with. Deciding that this was as good as it was going to get, she ventured down the dark dreary corridor. Her soul was learning to find solace in these types of places. Maybe that came from spending so much time in them...

Carter was walking back to the common room after a long day of classes. He had a good two hour break before dinner and was planning on wasting it in the common room.

He smirked to himself before holding his bag against himself and running to catch up with her.

"You know. You shouldn't walk down such creepy corridors by yourself." he said with a smile. "You may give people the wrong idea."

Out of the corner of her eye, she watched him. It was actually a good thing they'd ran into each other. She desperately wanted to ask how he was doing. The breakup with Caroline had been...abrupt...and while Marilyn was very pleased...She knew he had really liked the other Slytherin girl.

"Thank you..." Marilyn smiled at Carter full on, grabbing his hand and pulling him along with her. "You know, I have no idea where I'm going." She smirked. "You're very trusting to just go along with me like this."

Out of the corner of her eye, she watched him. It was actually a good thing they'd ran into each other. She desperately wanted to ask how he was doing. The breakup with Caroline had been...abrupt...and while Marilyn was very pleased...She knew he had really liked the other Slytherin girl.

Carter couldn't help but sport a dopey smile as Marilyn pulled him further down the hall. True, it wasn't the first time she grabbed his hand, and it wasn't like it had been very long since the last time he'd held someone's hand, but it was comfortable none-the-less. He enjoyed the feeling. What could he say? He really did enjoy being in the company of girls, especially one as gorgeous as Marilyn.

He chuckled after she called him trusting. "Why Marilyn, do I have worry about being kidnapped now?" he asked throwing in a wink. He couldn't help but notice that things weren't at all awkward like the first time they'd run into each other. In fact, it seemed like their relationship had reverted back to how it was when they just met - fun, spontaneous, and, of course, filled with innocent flirting.

Marilyn grinned at his choice of words. "Like I could overpower you. Carter, have you bumped your head?" She continued to pull him along, enjoying the feel of his rough hand in hers. There was no denying that she'd missed Carter. Back when things were more simple and hormones weren't overworking everyone.

The blonde released a soft, wistful sigh. "You ever think about the past, Carter?"

Carter chuckled. "If I remember right, you do have a pretty quick wand hand." And being on the receiving end of that wand was not a very pleasant experience. He hoped not to be on that side of an attack from her ever again.

He looked over at her as she asked her next question. Did he think about the past? "What do you mean?" he asked. Was she talking about goblin wars... or... more along the lines of what happened with them? He wasn't about to openly confess that he did wonder what would have happened between them had it not been for Rafe... unless, she wanted to hear that.

She inspected it, trying to figure out whether or not it lead to anywhere. "Think we should explore?"

His question was momentarily forgotten. Marilyn had never heard of a mirror on the fourth floor...How long had it been there? This was what happened when you were yanked out of school before being able to have those tiny adventures. She'd missed out on learning all these cool things...

Carter followed Marilyn's gaze to a giant mirror. "No. I don't come on this floor much..." he said hypnotized by his reflection. "The library is here." he added, just in case she was confused as to why this floor wasn't a frequent stop for him.

He too followed her example and inspected it. He pulled the edge of the mirror and was surprised to find that it swung open. He smirked mischievously. "Of course." he said as if it never occurred to him to not explore.

He grabbed her hand and pulled out his wand. He whispered a "lumos" and headed in. The air felt a bit stale... which meant it probably didn't go too far... but, it did at least go further than his wand lit.
