Selina was trying her hardest not to let her excitement bubble over but was finding it increasingly difficult. Kurumi wanted to practice. In Selina's book that was a break through. The summer Kurumi did not even want to float five feet off the ground and now she wanted to fly.

"Would you like a partner for practice?" Selina asked sheepishly.

Amber walked up to the portrait of the Fat Lady. "Oddsbodikins." she said, and it swung open. Amber was beginning to love Hogwarts with all the fun at every corner.

As she walked in, she noticed her rat, Scabbers was missing. Her eyes boggled. "Scabbers? Gone? That can't be!" she thought to herself, as she double checked her bag where he had been sleeping. Her eyes filled with tears. She began looking desperately around the common room looking for him, but he was nowhere to be found! She wished for help, but the room had emptied. It was eleven pm. She gulped and walked up to the girl's dormitories, feeling very depressed.

Alice was so taken aback by how loudly her name had been yelled at her that she nearly fell out of her chair. Re-situating the loose, blue knit hat on the top of her head, Alice looked to see where the noise had come from. Spotting Lexi waving her hands frantically on the couch, Alice instantly sprung out of her chair, tackling Lexi so hard that couch moved backwards slightly. Who knew someone so small could hug with so much force? hehe.

"LEXI!!!! How are you?! How was your summer?!" Releasing Lexi as she continued to ask questions, Alice plopped down on the floor in front of her favorite fellow Gryffindor.

Alice felt her cheeks flush a little at the compliment. Rex? "Oh, so you're related to Rex?" Alice asked with a little chuckle. "I knew him when he went here," Alice adding, in case their was any confusion. "I think as long as you work hard with Professor Hecate, you shouldn't have any issues. Kind of interesting about that boat showing up in the Lake, isn't it?" Alice had read the Daily Prophet and to be quite honest even though they said it was completely safe she still wasn't entirely sure...

" Yes, I am Rex's cousin "William told Alice." Everyone knew Rex, well all the girls expecailly pretty ones like you" William said to Alice." Thanks for the heads up on Professor Hecate" Willaim smiled." Well, I am not sure about that boat, but I will defend HogWarts and my freinds here at all costs" Willaim explained himself to Alice.

She passed a wave and a smile hoping to catch her attention. And continued to reach her destination- chair.

She spotted William eager to see how he was doing. Drowning… Rex, she thought… what? Before she came to any conclusions she decided to walk up first and say hi.

“How are you?” She looked to Nika, “Wow two of my most favorite people, I’m lucky. So… what’s this I hear about drowning?”

“I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages, excuse me.”
She noticed she was talking with someone else. “How are you?”

" I am fine, thank you" Willaim told Witsy. " How are you doing cutie?" Willaim asked Witsy. " Rex saved an old girlfreind of his from drowning and she just showed up at Jason's castle because she loves Rex" William explained to Witsy. " She has two young boys about twi, she had a bad marriage" Willaim sighed.

Alice couldn't help but feel her cheeks flush at William's compliment. "Well...thank you," Alice mumbled somewhat quietly, never one to take a compliment about her looks too boldly. "And you're welcome for the heads up! Her class really is very interesting, and you do learn how to brew a lot of cool things." Alice was thinking back to last year and the potion she learned to re-grow bones.

Alice nodded in understanding as William explained that he would defend Hogwarts and his friends. "As we all will," Alice said with a thoughtful look. "It's just Professor Welton's disappearance and that boat showing up at the same time....it's just strange." Alice trailed off thoughtfully....

"H-H-Hello," she squeaked waving from her place by the fire. "W-W-Would you like to make a s'more? They are delicious!"

John turned to see the young girl, who was speaking to him and he quickly gave her a bright smile.

John thought about sweets, but brushed it off his mind...

"Hi there." he said while still smiling.

"uhm, I'll make some s'mores with you...but i won't eat them hehe, I'm not a fan of sweets..." John said said as he patted the a spot on the couch so she could sit.

"a pretty, young lady like you, shouldn't be standing up" John said so galantly.

"uh-errr...I'm John, i don't think i've properly introduced myself to you..." he said with a wink.

'Well you're not as soft, I'm training you up, see.' Ella grinned, her eyes narrowed slightly. 'Then at my house you're gonna ride my ponio and play Quidditch with the five other hooligans and Zara, who's possibly worse..' Ella grinned. She prodded his stomach. She was suprised at how not soft it was. She rubbed her finger. 'Ow.. freaky belly boy!' She burst out laughing.
'Don't worry though Matt, Mam'll probably want to adopt you on the spot.' She could imagine her Mam's face as she presented her with messy haired Matt. 'She'll think you're sweet.' Ella wrinkled her nose. 'Can't imagine why.. but you are compared to all of us. '

Matt laughed. "Training me up, huh?" He cocked his eyebrows.

"Hey!" He flinched as she poked him. "Don't diss the belly, yeah?" he said, gasping and cooing his stomach. "Don't listen to her." he said, tapping it fondly. It was kinda freaky, he supposed. He ate and ate, and ate and ate, then ate some more, stopped, ate a muffin, some cereal, a bit of roast chicken maybe, then went to sleep. And yet, he remained as skinny as a broom, all bone and limbs. He looked and walked a bit like a drunk giraffe sometimes, all flailing this way and that. And when he was going through a bit of a musical faze, he would strap a guitar to his back. Everyone would always scarper when he entered the room, hugging their hot drinks to their chests. He was a health hazard; the first year grinned.

He yawned and placed his hands behind his head. Cute, huh? "I don't think my mum would be too happy about that." he said, a small blush tainting his cheeks. "And I'll have you know, I'm adorable." He winked up at her, bringing his knees to his chest.

Hahaha, this time no one'll ever guess if she was really mad or just faking an act. LIVE WITH IT.

AHHHH. NO. HE'D BEEN WRONG. SHE WAS ANGRY.
AHHHHHHHH.

Carefully righting himself, and flinging one of his scarf tails over his shoulder, he ran after her, grabbing her shoulder before she could leave the Common Room.

Panting, as if he'd ran a mile, his face was a perfect replica of a five year old who's teddy bear had just been stolen. "I'm sowwy." he said, letting go of her, and looking down at his feet.

She had almost come to hate the piano..almost.

"If you'd like, we could go to the Room of Requirement together and see if it turns into a piano studio for us," she offered. "I sometimes did that my first and second years. Mother would be very displeased if my pianist abilities were to become less than perfect in her eyes. You really have to want to play desperately though." Which had been a rather difficult thing for her to accomplish at times since the freedom of NOT having to play three hours a day before bedtime had been wonderful.

"That'd be great!" Zara beamed, she didn't know there was a piano here! "Aww, I hope one day you're mother would understand you. But look on the bright side, you learned how to play the piano." Zara encouraged as she smiled at Kurumi.

Zara's eyes were wide open. Wow, he'd taken this so seriously. She could feel his arms on her shoulder. A shiver went through Zara, as if she was wearing a shirt and shorts on a winter's day. *Dub-dub. Dub-dub, dub-dub.* Where the heck was that sound coming from? Oh shoot, her hea--

She turned to face him, eyes wide open, heart beating wildly. Zara gulped. As Matt had apologized, she looked at him. Then he let go of her and looked down. She couldn't put her act anymore, not with a face that sad. "Hey, hey, it's okay." She said, then she awkwardly patted his arm twice. Oh well, it was much better than a hug. Now, that would be weird. Still, he didn't look up. "Erm, let's just head back to the chairs, what do you say?"

Since Matt didn't reply, Zara put her arm around his neck and dragged him towards the chairs with her other arm ready to support him once he loses balance again--like he always does.

Matt let her drag guide him back to the sofa, trying to ignore her arm supporting him around his neck (probably expecting him to fall over - it was a good precaution). But it was too close...Too close. ARGH. :x3: She was a girl. It felt so weird; his heart was in his mouth, beating in a wild frenzy of thumps.

But he didn't want to freak her out even more than he already had.. He was quite good at that, he thought, almost proudly, to himself. Instead, he firmly fixed his thoughts on the fact that she wasn't mad at him. Which was a good thing. "Thanks...for putting up with me." He smiled at her, sheepishly, as he finally collapsed back onto the sofa. This time, at least he didn't have the risk of falling off the arm, and making her worry all over him for the billionth time that evening.

"It's all good," she smiled back as she relaxed back on the sofa. It was a long night, and she was too tired. "I think I better go sleep now." Zara wondered if it was the right time to doze off. Well, she was extremely tired, she needed a good night's sleep. That was when she stood up.

Matt nodded. Now that he thought about it..he was tired too. He'd completely forgotten about going to sleep, but now Zara had mentioned it, he was suddenly desparate for his bed. "Good idea." He shot her a smile, taking one last look at the brilliant Common Room that lay before him, before making his way towards the dorms.

"Yeah, see you in the morning," Zara agreed, and strode off to the girl's dormitories to have a good night's sleep.

TADAA. Okay the next day...

As Zara woke up the next day and got all dressed in her uniform (she didn't want to have to go back to the dormitories and change when class started) she ran down the staircase and into the common room. Once there, she stretched her arms and decided to sit on one of the comfy couches. Of course, there were other students already there but none that Zara knew. So she waited for someone she knew to wake up so they'll go together somewhere. Probably Tayla, or Ella, or William, or Matt.

He looked. Like a toilet brush.

The first year wandered down from the dorms and into the Common Room. It didn't look much different, except for the sun pouring in through the windows and the now non-existent flames of the fire. Dust particles danced inbetween the shadows a cool breeze entered through the portrait door as another random Gryffindor wandered in. Even now, Matt was desperately trying to flatten the spiky mess that was his hair with the flats of his palms. He must've slept on it funny, that was the only explanation.

His stomach rumbled, and he gazed down at his stomach longingly. Looking up again, his robes thrown loosely over his skinny frame, he spotted a familiar face sitting on one of the poofy chairs. It was Zara.

Yawning again, he made his way over to her. "Hey." he said, still bleary eyed, his usually floppy hair sticking up in all directions. "Sleep ok?"

A place filled with Magic, and his favorite hobby, Quidditch. How couldn't he love this place.

Ariadne figured Jordan was living with his uncle, so what happened to his parents? That was quite a private question. But Ari was curious. Dilemma: to ask or not to ask?

'So...err..please ignore the question if you find it inapproppriate, but...how come you live with your uncle?' the girl hesitated a bit. 'Did you go to muggle school before Hogwarts? I was home-schooled till I started here. But my mum is very intelligent, I learned a lot from her.' Ari explained.

'Tea leaves? Is that what we're going to begin with?' Ariadne asked Nika, without losing any bits of her enthusiasm. 'I don't think you're reading them wrong. You're ALWAYS cheerful.' Ari chuckled.

Ari was surprised to notice that Nika's dedication for study might surpass her own. 'Now I can imagine why the Sorting Hat placed you in Gryffindor. Determination like that...' she expressed her opinion. 'So what subjects are you struggling with?' the girl wondered.

"I know loads of great people in Ravenclaw, and I thought that I would be sorted there to be honest." Seeing as she was a bookworm and workaholic. "Sorting hat must have seen something unique in us both besides our love for studying," Kurumi giggled.

Kurumi didn't think much of Ariadne's lack of mentioning her father and assumed that that meant that he had not attended Hogwarts. After all, she would leave her mother out of the conversation considering she was a non-magical. "My father and two of my other brothers were also in Gryffindor. My other brother was in Ravenclaw though. Father was the one who broke the tradition in his family. Apparently, they were all Slytherins."

Which reminded her of some other research she needed to do in the library.

'I suppose. I mean, tradition has its role, but sometimes it's time to move on.' Ari could sound so grown-up at times. 'Yeah, there must be something Gryffindor-ish about us.' Ariadne giggled. 'I don't know yet what that may be, though. In fact, the Sorting Hat wanted to put me into Ravenclaw, but I pleaded for Gryffindor.' the firstie confessed.

'Wow, so everything besides Hufflepuff. Sounds like an amazing family.' Ari commented. 'I find genealogy fascinating, I'd like to track down my ancestors.' she mused.

She chuckled keeping the little act up.

Woah. Sir? He grinned. She had to be kidding. "Nice to meet you Nika, but please, don't call me Sir." That made him feel old. And weird. Sir.....ew. Of course the girl felt awesome. After all classes weren't in full swing and that was always good. "I'm pretty good! Excited to catch up with friends and stuff."

"Umm, yeah," she continued still shocked at his memory, "it was good. Played a lot of Quidditch for try outs. And yourself?"

Legend blinked. Was he not suppose to remember her? He tried to remember everyone as much as possible. It would suck if someone came up to him, and remembered him and he had no clue who they were. "Yeah...Quidditch. We played together."

"Practicing eh? Good. Can't lose your spot to any new players." That would suck, he he had seen it happen a lot. Less so in professional Quidditch but, there was ALWAYS someone younger and better. "I just played a lot of sports. Spent some time in the Hospital for an injury." More like 6 injured but he was good now.

YOU! o________O

Oh yes...Kurumi had been RIGHT next to this boy when HE had crossed the line and lost Gryffindor house points before they had even tucked in to their first meal at Hogwarts.

Instinctively, she closed the lid on her box of cookies and set the box back on the table. No cookies for you...Legend Chosen.

"Evening," she said with a slightly cold tone hidden beneath her smile.

"Good Evening Legend......" He called giving the boy a scathing smile, "Have fun losing us points before the food had even arrived at the Feast?" Patroclus was a prefect yes, but he was also a proud lion and losing points was not an option, they need to win the cup again, and defeat the other houses who for so long had seen the Lions as lesser students!

UGH! Legend Chosen... He was SO loud and obnoxious. Secretly she thought of him as a friend, but she would never tell HIM that.

Legend knew that something was wrong instantly as some of his house mates replied back in cold tones. The sixteen year old rolled his eyes as Patroclus began to speak. So this was about the points? Honestly?

Without any thought Legend jumped up onto the coffee table and began to wave his hands around like mad. "ALRIGHT LISTEN UP! I WANT EVERYONE'S ATTENTION FOR A FEW MINUTES!" His voice boomed loudly through the room without even a charm. Looking around to make sure at least some people were paying attention he began to speak. "Hello. Good evening. Now many of you may know me by my name- Legend Chosen. While others might know me as 'that guy who lost of 15 points at the opening feast.' And that's pretty true. I AM that guy who lost 15 points at the feast. HOWEVER, to be really honest with you I think I did you all I favor. I did not lose points for speaking back, or pulling pranks, or flirting with Professors." Flirting with Professors. That was just mad. "I lost points for something that there was no rule agaisnt. I lost points because I sat down with the staff on the other side of the staff table. So in all honesty I did you lot a favor. Now you know it's agaisnt the rules, whereas it was in that uncertain gray area before. So BE HAPPY and stop acting like a bunch of whiny brats." And that was all. He jumped down from the table, hoping that, that was the end of everything.

After all it was so easy to earn 15 points back.

"Yeah... we did." Selina smiled. Maybe she was more memorable than she had assumed. Especially if Legend Chosen remembered her. And he was one of the best players on the team... by a long shot, "Sorry, I just assumed 'cause I was the only first year on the team and all."

When he commented on her practicing she smirked, "I'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure I keep my spot. If I don't I'll just come back ten times harder next year, I'm just hoping I don't have to, you know?"

He spoke about his summer and Selina did a double take, "Wait... you were in and out of the hospital all summer with injuries and still played sports? I'm impressed."

Amber walked up to the portrait of the Fat Lady, her rat Scabbers poking his head out of her pocket. "Password?" she asked. "Oddsbodikins!" Amber said, and the portrait swung open.

As Amber walked in, many Gryffindors were sitting with friends talking and laughing. She sighed and walked to a chair near the fire that wasn't near anyone. All she really wanted was a friend to laugh and talk with.

She pulled out a quill and piece of parchment and began to draw a phoenix. Scabbers crawled out of her pocket and up onto her shoulder, and fell asleep. The phoenix took a long time to draw, it seemed hours before she noticed the time. "Midnight?! Come on Scabbers, it's about time for bed!" she whispered as she crept up to the girl's dormitories.

"do you like Quidditch?" John asked in his deep tone.

Nika tried to keep calm, but on the inside she was jumping for joy. He would teach her how to play! John is very nice.

"Well it looks pretty cool, but I can't really play because I have a problem with flying..." If problem meant incapable of then yeah she has a problem with it. "I can't fly. I'm horrible at it." she admitted a bit embarrassed. "And as for watching it I don't really mind. I just don't understand it... at all." If only it were simpler. Like football. Kick a ball and get it into the goal. Not fly around attacking people with bats while tons of balls fly around.

"I'm not really good at most magic. The only thing I'm some what good at so far is Divination and maybe Care of magical creatures, but only because they don't use wands for them." She said blushing. Why was she saying all of this? Maybe John just had that sort of effect on people?

OOC- Sorry if I repeated some of the same things. I had not been on the computer in a while.

"Well then I hope everything goes well for him!" Nika said giving Willie a big smile. "Well I don't know.... anythings possible." She said with a tiny wink and a giggle. "So Willie anything new?"

“How are you?” She looked to Nika, “Wow two of my most favorite people, I’m lucky. So… what’s this I hear about drowning?”

“I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages, excuse me.”
She noticed she was talking with someone else. “How are you?”

Nika smiled at her old friend and waved cheerfully. "Hiya!" Why must Nika be so hyper? Maybe the effect of those chocolate frogs still didn't ware off or something. "Oh well he isn't drowning anymore!" Nika said laughing. "We were talking about Rex and how Rene left him again." She said calmly. Why Rex? Her best guy friend of all time. "Yeah but one of his old girlfriends came back to him and they're doing well now. So she saved him!" Nika said all happy once more.

"I know! It's been like forever!" Okay so maybe not forever... but still. "I'm doing wonderful! How about you?"

Ari was surprised to notice that Nika's dedication for study might surpass her own. 'Now I can imagine why the Sorting Hat placed you in Gryffindor. Determination like that...' she expressed her opinion. 'So what subjects are you struggling with?' the girl wondered.

Nika laughed at her excitement. "Well I have no idea. We did tea leaves in our last lesson last term so maybe..." Besides even if they didn't do tea leaves they would do something else very fun. Professor Bishop is the best. "Well I don't want to be a downer now do I!?" Nika replied giggling. "I guess I am cheerful!" Nika said happily.

"Yeah I can't give up if I want to impress my professors! If I can do well in potions I wonder what Lafay would think!" She shall stun the professor with her awesome potions skills that she has yet to acquire. MUAHAHAHA. Not literally stun though... That wouldn't be pretty.

Oh my. There were many subjects that she struggles in. "Well just to list a few... There's flying, but a friend has offered to teach me that because the classes aren't really helping too much. I need extra help with it!" Nika said chuckling. "Then there's Ancient Runes which I don't really care about very much. It's just soooo boring and confusing and why would I want to know about weird letters anyways!?!" The point of that subject was really beyond her.

"Potions is not my best either. Partially because Professor Lafay just ruins the class for me so I'm always getting nervous in front of her and messing up." Oh Lafay... *cough* Dragon lady *cough*. "Then history of magic isn't too bad. Again like Runes it's boooring, but it's really just reading the text book. Then the worst is charms." Nika sighed just thinking about it. "Charms and Transfiguration I can never get right. But I'm working on those too." So that's a lot. "The rest I'm not too bad in. I hope to improve in a least two subjects this term so that I can slowly work my way up!"

Wow? Had he prepared this all along?" She clapped a few times after bursting out into laughter. "I suppose it's alright that you lost the points. Besides someone else lost some too. But we aren't that far behind..." But what was she even saying!?! She was just complaining about the points and whoever lost them in the dormitories. "Plus I'm sure you're going to be earning them all back soon?" she raised an eyebrow as she asked.

" You welcome" William told Alice." Yes, she seems to have a cool class right now" William said to Alice." Of course, everyone especailly the Gryffindors will defend HogWarts and their freinds" William agreed with Alice. "Who is Professor Welton?" William asked Alice.

I'm glad she's fine, but with all do respect, Rex doesn't need that right now. What is rex up to these days?"

" William almost did not see Witsy's grin, but caught it at the last moment.Does Witsy like him?- he thought to himself. "Good, hopefully we will both make the team" William told Witsy. "What postion do you play?" William asked Witsy." My goals are to pass this first team" William explained to Witsy, then laughed very hard.
" I am glad Rex is a hero, but I can't say anything more than that to you" he told her. " You are right, Rex does not need it, but he really needed to be loved" he said to her." I guess hoping his girlfriend with her boys" Willaim smiled.
