After a little bit, he started to get bored, so he decided to look around to talk to some friendly Gryffindors. He saw a few girls, what looked like first years and decided to introduce himself. "Hello, I don't mean to interrupt your conversation, but I was feeling a little lonely, since alot of my buddies are asleep. My name is Jordan. First Year. Nice to meet you." | Ariadne didn't like being interrupted, but this once she didn't mind that much, as she was eager to befriend her fellow Gryffindors. And the boy was a first year too. 'Hi, no problem, Jordan. Pleased to meet you, I'm Ariadne.' the girl replied. 'Have you tried any of these cookies made by Kurumi?' she gestured towards the box on the table. 'Delicious.' she smiled. 'So how do you like Hogwarts so far? Looking forward to start classes?' Ariadne asked conversationally. Quote:

"Sure," Kurumi chirped nodding her head. "I thought about holding informal baking classes last term, but I...um....got a bit busy with some other things." Kurumi giggled as Ariadne continued to much away at the cookies. "Well, it is no problem if you keep eating them, but it would be a shame if a fellow lion did not get any of them."
"Am I?" Kurumi blushed. She was rather glad to know that perhaps she wouldn't be the only bookworm in Gryffindor this term. "Kendo is a form of Japanese sword fighting, but we use a sword made out of bamboo." | 'That's a fabulous idea! We could use the Room of Requirement.' Ariadne suggested, wanting to demonstrate she knew a lot about Hogwarts already. 'I'm sure many people would be interested.' she said as she was taking another cookie. 'This is the last I'm going to take, I swear.' Ari chuckled. 'Wow, that sounds cool! Where can you get such a sword? Did you bring it from home?' Ariadne asked, with curiosity. She was interested in other cultures and customs very much. Quote:

Tayla's blue eyes twinkled in excitement. She was naturally curious and loved adventures. She thought Ari was someone she could definitely go exploring with. "I'm happy you asked!" Tayla replied. "I'm not sure, but I don't think we're allowed to...although...the Daily Prophet said there seemed to be no threat really. Either way, I still want to explore the ship." "Yes, I've signed up. Mum used to play for the Gryffindor team, too. She was a keeper," Tayla continued. "I'm a bit nervous really. We're not allowed brooms so I can't practice before try-outs. Speaking of Quidditch, I had this crazy dream last night where I was both a chaser and a seeker. It was really odd, but a lot of fun! I hope it's a good omen or something."
Tayla felt happy talking to Ari. They seemed to get along well and have many things in common. "I love reading, too! And History is definitely an interesting subject," she said. "I've started with A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot. But I'm planning to go to the library and read other books, especially those with facts about Harry Potter. We can go together if you want." | 'Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking. The Daily Prophet suggested it's safe, so why can't we?' she wondered. 'You know, I'm happy to know people with a spirit for adventure.' Ariadne smiled. 'Good luck! My mum was on her House team too, but I don't think I inherited her talent.' Ari replied, not too bothered by that. 'So you come from a family of Gryffindors? My family has been in Ravenclaw since...forever.' she confessed. 'Yeah, I'm sure the dream means you'll get on the team.' Ari grinned. 'I read Bagshot's book too! And I've bought a book at Flourish and Blott's this summer about the former Headmasters of Hogwarts, it's really good. I'd enjoy going to the library anytime.' Ari nodded. Quote:

"Genius? I wish." Nika replied giggling. "I'm not that bad at muggle topics, but magic is definitely not my forte." Quite the opposite actually. Magic and Nika just don't go together. At least, not very well. "Well I didn't really go anywhere. I didn't see anything other than the view from the plane. I was only visiting a friend at a huge house they had there. We didn't get out of it. But it was still really exciting because like I said it was my first time out of England!" Hogwarts excluded. "It was serious fight, but hopefully she will forgive me for what I had to do." It wasn't her fault though. It was something big to ask of Nika. "She's 10, but she's turning eleven soon." Nika sighed wishing her sister would just understand. "Well she's not Hogwarts age yet, but she couldn't go anyways. She's not a witch." | 'So I take it Muggle Studies is your favourite subject then? What's it like?' Ariadne asked Nika. She couldn't help but laugh when the girl said magic wasn't her forte. 'But...you're a witch. Witches are good at magic as far as I know.' Ari spoke through giggles. 'Yes, I'm sure you had a good time. How long did you stay? Did you learn any French? I remember a few words since I was there.' the tiny first year wanted to know.
Ariadne wasn't going to ask what the girls fought about, it was way too personal. 'Wow, I find it really interesting when one sibling is a Muggle and the other is not. Doesn't she envy you? What about your parents? Are they Muggles too?' her curiosity got the better of her again. Quote:

Quickly scribbling a message for Zara, Ari, and William from her room upstairs, she ran back down the common room and left a note on the table next to the cookies Kurumi made. | Ariadne observed Tayla's message and made a mental note to go meet the others in front of Lachlan the Lanky. What a funny name. If only she could find the statue. Quote:

Heh...
Heheheh...
With his usual confident and i-own-this-place demeanor, Josh walked in the Common Room, that usual content smirk of his glued on his face. At first the seventeen year old boy stopped and looked around to see who was or were currently spending their time here right now. Hmmm hmm hmmm. Of course there were people he knew as usual but also...there were people, firsties, he did not know.
Coolness!
Approaching his favourite couch before the fireplace rather coolly, he yawned without bothering to hide it or else right before jumping on the couch and settling himself down in it comfortably. Yeaa, this was his couch so you others had better stay away from it.
Taking his scarlet and gold tie off, he rested on the couch peacefully, slowly closing his eyes. Mmmm. | Ari noticed a much older Gryffindor boy walking in. His relaxed attitude made her smile, it reminded her of her uncle Tristan, who was much younger than her parents, and more like an older brother than an uncle.
The firstie hoped the boy wouldn't mind if she talked to him, she enjoyed talking to adults. 'Hi, are you a seventh year?' she asked, approaching the couch. Without waiting for an answer, she added: ' You must know lots about Hogwarts. So what information do you have about the ship on the grounds?' the child waited for a response this time. |
