Gryffindor Common Room
The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through. "Oddsbodikins!" Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes. That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left. For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby. |
Selina dragged herself up the stairs after a very long opening feast. She was ready to curl up on the couch and just relax near the fire. Although Selina had a fireplace at home something was just more comforting about the fire in the Gryffindor common room. All of her friends were here as well as her House.mates. Home was great. Hogwarts was her true home though. She was grateful for once that she was so young, she had five more years at Hogwarts to enjoy. Walking up to the fat lady Selina said, "Oddsbodikins," rubbing her sleepy eyes. The fat lady protested, "Ms. Skylar you don't see me for three months and all you have to say to me is the password. Perhaps a song?" To that all Selina said was, "Oddsbodikins." The fat lady sighed and said, "All right then, get in you. Maybe when your better rested you'll be politer." The portrait hole swung open and Selina ducked entering the warm red room. Seeing she was the first back she snuggled up in the big red chair and closed her eyes. Home. |

The door swung open and CeCe tiptoed inside. "WOW"She breathed. Ok so maybe she had been too harsh for Hogwarts without knowing anything in the first place. Don't judge a book by it's cover, right? Many small red armchairs had been placed near a crackling warming fireplace, study tables off to the side and comfortable seats- thats all she ever wanted sometimes, peace and quiet. |

Elle made her way up to the Gryffindor Dormitory, where there were already a few people entering. She looked around to see if any of the girl friends she had made were around, but were not. So, she headed up the steps and unpacked her things. After she was done, she came back down to the common room, book in hand, and picked a comfy chair. She opened up the book she had picked up in Diagon Alley for fun reading, titled "Ancient Runes Made Easy". She looked around once again, then delved into her book. |
Ariella dragged her tired feet up the staircase after a very long and tiring opening feast. When she got to the Fat Lady portrait hole, she exclaimed, "Oddsbodikins!". The portrait opened at once. Ariella climbed inside and collapsed onto the comfy chair near the fireplace. She opened up her new journal again and resumed writing, right where she left off. |
Krissa flung herself into one of the squishy Gryffindor armchairs, and pulled Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them from her bag. She figured that it would be a good to get a bit ahead in her reading since her Durstrang curriculum was probably so different than the one she would have at Hogwarts. |

Christina strolled lazily up to the Fat Lady, yawning and stumbling as she went. "Obs...Odd....Odbi..Oddsbodikins!" she murmured. It would be a password she couldn't pronounce. She pulled an armchair nearer to the window, and positioned it so she could look outside and search for familiar, or interesting, faces in the room at the same time. She let herself collapse into the cushion, sighing with contentment. |

Sitting up in her seat she scrunched her face up and released it. She was wrong. Putting her hand out to touch CeCe's forearm she said, "Wait..." Taking a deep breath Selina did the hardest thing possible, "I'm sorry. Look, we did not exactly hit it off in Diagon Alley, but I'm willing to try again. Hello I'm Selina Skylar. I like Quidditch, the flute, and painting. I can't sing and my sweet tooth is dangerous. And you are?" |
Jai finally decided to come up to the common room. He entered and saw that there were already people lounging around. He spotted a squashy yet comfortable looking chair. Moving toward the chair, he looked around the common room and realized how homey it was. 'I'm gonna spend a lot of time here.' he thought to himself. The fire was going and the chairs all called to anyone who walked in the portrait hole. Sitting down, Jai allowed his body to relax completely. 'Now, that's relaxation.' Jai thought to himself. |

Slightly confused CeCe spun around thinking there was a first year Selina was addressing but it was just her and CeCe in the vicinity. "CeCe Madera...Teen Actress from Mexico, hice Takwondo..And I am learning to play the drumset..."CeCe responed understanding that Selina was trying to start all over, as if Diagon Alley had never happened. |

Anyone? Just let me know if you reply ^____^ Following a large group of students through the portrait was little Woody. He bounded in excitedly and only paused to glance up at the kids he had came in with. He grew bored of them quickly and had decided to now have fun. He sat there, tail wagging when out of nowhere, he got up quickly and sprinted forward. But when the pup tried stop, his little claws found no traction, and he slid across the room completely out of control. He only stopped when he rammed headfirst into some kids legs. Grinning in his own little doggie way, the puppy glanced up at his savior. He licked the shoes of the kid, showing his gratitude. He would NOT eat this person's shoes despite how tasty they looked today. "WOODY!" Came Jayce Cannon's voice through the slowly opening portrait. He half sprinted through the common room, once the portrait fully opened up for him. Half worry and half anger crossed his face as his eyes scanned the room quickly. It was only the first day and he had already lost his dog. Way to go Jayce. |
