Godric Gryffindor

QueenPhoenix 07-04-2011 06:02 AM

Daring as his house's founder, Riley doesn't wait too long to act again. Impulse perhaps, but his shot is clear and it rolls gently, but forcefully over the court and toward the center, landing a finger width away from the Jack Stone.

Ravenclaw want to try and match it? Nope. Perhaps they had given up so easily already . . . ?

Who was the witch who lived on the Greek island of Aeaea and what was she known for?

Walrus 07-04-2011 06:16 AM

Circe, known for metamorphosis, the power of illusion, and the dark art of necromancy.

QueenPhoenix 07-04-2011 04:20 PM

Ravenclaw Captain, Jacob Blunt doesn't want to give up on his house just yet. He takes the shot, but with a little too much force. The blue stone rolls quickly, gaining momentum and right over the opposite wall of the court!!

Waiting a few moments to see if Gryffindors will take the shot, Hadley whistles sharply to indicate a draw. "This is gobstones, not a bludger. No need to hit it that hard." There was no need to hit it that hard anyway, but she wasn't one to get into that. (Correct answer: Circe; known for transfiguring lost sailors into pigs)

Incantation - Evanesco.

Taking things into his own hands, quite literally too, Head Boy Carmichael rolls the blue stone hastily next. But his roll, unlike his captain's is gentle enough to stay in the court area and rolls to a slow stop just a few millimeters from the center Jack Stone.

Any challenge from Gryffindor players? Certainly doesn't look like either house really wants to put up a good challenge . . .

Almost ready to drift off to sleep from the lack of movement on behalf of the Eagles and Lions, Professor Hadley sat upright startled at the sudden movement. It took a few moments therefore for her eyes to adjust to the color of stone on the court.

Blue. Huh. What? Blue? Oh right. Watching it absently as it rolled toward the center and then slowed she glanced upward toward the direction of where it came from. "Ooh... Nice one Miss Greenwell!" Apparently Ravenclaws can still play Gobstones.

Who and what was responsible for Former Charms Professor and Gameskeeper, Kate Zoa falling in love with Former Professor, Andrew McAiken?

AlwaysSnapesGirl 07-05-2011 04:08 AM

Schoop, a house-elf, put a love potion into the wine at the Start of Term Feast

QueenPhoenix 07-07-2011 03:39 AM

Movement? Did it exist? Did these students forget that they were in the middle of a Gobstones Match? Quite likely considering how slow they seemed to be moving. Oh but there was fifth year, Vashti Greenwell again. Merlin, that girl seemed to have some good aim!

Aiming her blue marble, she released it and it rolled with about the same amount of energy the students were showing in the last two or so rounds. Eventually rolling to a stop millimeters from the center Jack Stone. An easy shot for Lions to overcome, if they choose to (as technically its Schmoop but since no Lions posted and it was just a typo, yea) ... but nope, Lions seem to have fallen to sleep. Ravenclaw wins the point and the round.

Oh there's the Lions, but now no Eagles. What happened to the head-to-head confrontations? The challenges? Fina frowned slightly, tilting her head to the side as Captain Bennett took the turn for Lions, his red stone bouncing off the wall of the court and off to the complete opposite side. Ravenclaws have the opportunity to steal the question, but seeing as both houses seemed to have lost interest in actually challenging the other, no score is issued. (Correct Answer: Tourmaline)

And confrontation is back with the lovely second year Nika Adler rolling her red stone, which rolls with such fierceness but precision, stopping a few centimeters from the Jack Stone. Can Ravenclaw outdo it? Only if Jacob Blunt remembers that this is gobstones, not a Quidditch Match. Which it seems it did, as he threw the blue stone onto the court.

It rolled and rolled and just when it looked like it was going to stop outside of the red one, it continued on and stopped instead just a millimeter closer to the center Jack Stone then the red one!! Ravenclaw gets the point.

If anyone asks why the students aren't as covered in gob as usual, it could probably be attributed to the fact that the Jack Stone was confused. One minute the blue one is close, the next its the red one. Yes, that's right, your eyes aren't deceiving you... Josh Carter took the next shot for himself and it seemed no claw wanted to attempt to outdo him. With good reason; the sixth year knows how to play his marbles.

Back and forth the red and blue stones go; Carter rolls his stone onto the court only a few seconds later to have INTERCEPTED and nudged aside by a blue one!! That's right! It seems the Head Boy was not willing to give up on Gobstones this easily. If the match kept up with this alternating, we'll be here all night.

The Lion's resident baker and house elf Kurumi Hollingberry isn't one to take lightly to her opponent getting the point, no matter if he is several years older with therefore more years of Gobstones experience. Taking the red stone, she was about to throw it onto the court when housemate, Raven Perevell decided he wanted to throw it!

Whistling sharply, Hadley shook her head. "Penalty to Gryffindor! Please don't go grabbing stones from your housemates! Continue on."
