Well," he amended, wiping his hands on his increasingly dusty robes, "you can of course do both, but I will only grade one of them. If you do feel like handing in both the essay and the, er, creative option, you should let me know which one you'd like to be graded. I will certainly read both pieces, but only award points for one of them."

Aurora quickly copied down the homework. "Goodbye Professor, thanks for the lesson." she almost added 'and I'm sorry' but realised she'd already said it. She gathered her stuff and left the classroom quietly, nearly tripping up as she stood and hoping no-one had noticed, she was embarrassed enough about the bickering earlier.
