Tyrone came from his thoughts to see Jamie slip into her own. He considered pulling her from her thoughts, but decided not to. He knew all too well what could happen when pulled from thoughts at the wrong time.

Tyrone waited a few minutes before deciding to speak up. "Sickle for your thoughts?" he said softly after putting a hand on her shoulder to alert her to his presence.

Jamie felt the pressure on her shoulder and looked over at him. She smiled openly and said, "Nothing really. I was just thinking about stars. Making another wish." She shrugged as if it was an everyday thing.

Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice call out her name. Lotte craned her neck to the side, curious to see if it belonged to who she thought it did. Once she spotted the signature blonde curls, she breathed out a huge sigh of relief. The frazzled First Year made her way towards the table and sat down on the bench with a wary look on her face.

"Hey, Tay! It's great to see you again," Lotte managed with a feeble smile. Somehow, she still felt like an intruder trespassing on someone else's property.


Just as Lotte was about to leave the near vicinity of the Slytherin table, she noticed a girl walking in her direction. She squinted her eyes, trying to get a closer look at her face. After a few more moments, she suddenly recognized Cass, a friend she had made over the holidays.

"Cass! Great to see you again," she grinned. "Thank you! I was so relieved when the hat decided for me to become a Ravenclaw... I think we're a pretty great bunch. Of course, I'm sure Slytherin can also give us a run for our money," she laughed.

"So, are you prepared for the official start of the term?"


To say that Lotte was surprised would be the understatement of the century. There she was, smiling and gesturing for her to come over. The young blonde slowly approached the older Slytherin. She came to a stop once she was right in front of her.

She let out a deep breath before giving herself a small pep talk. "Okay, Lotte. This is your chance to make a new friend. Don't blow it."

She plastered a bright grin on her face. Extending her right hand, she hastily made a few introductions. "Hi! Thanks so much for inviting me over... I'm Charlotte, but most people simply call me Lotte."

"Tyrone, about that sneaking down into the kitchens to cook something, I don't really think that's going to happen. Especially since we're all 1st years. I've heard the Hogwarts house elves are pretty territorial here. But if you can wait and get them alone, you can bet them that you can cook better than them, then they'll have a cookoffjust one one one. But they'll pick their best cook, so you better bring your A gamr."

Benjamin warned Tyrone. He looked around to see if anybody was listening. Especially a professor.

Tyrone smiled when she did. "Wishes are good, 'n' all, but it doesn't do well to make too many of them in the hopes that they will happen." he looked away sadly before continuing, "Most wishes don't ever come true and all they do is leave an empty hole in your chest that will never be filled"

Tyrone shrunk back and clasped his hands over his mouth at his little slip. he wasn't supposed to be all 'Doom-and-Gloom'. No, that was saved for her. Tyrone was the happy one always telling jokes. "Sorry, slip of the tounge"

"Relax, Benjamin. I wasn't going to sneak into the school kitchens. I was thinking of inviting Jamie over for Christmas and sneaking into the house kitchen there. Although I need to talk to my parents before I can ask her." Tyrone defended. He would never have thought to take away from the school house elves.

"Another big thank you, Taylor." She laughed.

Elle just squealed. "Oh, I'm so excited for your wedding! I wish you both well, again."

"Hm... Let's see... I'm really excited for DADA and, uh, Arithmancy," She said as a matter of fact. "Are the teachers nice in those subjects?" Elle asked curiously, raising her eyebrows.

"What do you enjoy the most?"

Elle nodded in agreement as Evan said all the right things. "I couldn't have said it better. Well, I'd better go to my brothers. Enjoy the feast, Mr. Prefect!" She laughed.


"Yup, I'm a Firstie. Elizabeth Woods, or Elle for short." She nodded.

Alex showed his affection for Elle through ruining her hair. Haha! That's what her brothers would do to her too. Used to it and not much caring about her appearances, she raised an eyebrow, pursed her lips and pretended to be seducing (haha), made a guns out of her hands and leaned back a bit. She just felt really merry. But she quickly stopped and got back her composure. Professor Lafay, as she had heard was now her Head of House, would be watching and seeing everyone, including little Elizabeth. "

"Ahem, I see you've met Dianna Malfoy!" She chuckled. Elle nudged her brother a bit.

Elle nodded politely. "Sorry, I just saw someone from my House fighting with another person from some other House, so I figured I'd warn you before things get out of hand..."

"Oh yes! I'm looking forward to everything here at Hogwarts, Fee." She said honestly. Frowning a bit since she hardly forgot things her parents told her, Elle asked slowly, "Um, Fee? Do you get to choose your own room mates? Or we've already been pre-assigned?"

"Yeah, Herbology can be kind of difficult," Ava Jade said. Listening to the next thing Rex said, she furrowed her eyebrows, interested in his memory relating to the Whomping Willow. "Yeah, absolutely, I want to hear about it!" she replied enthusiastically.

" I know nothing about plants or flowers" Rex told Ava."Well, it is kind of a long story" Rex said to Ava. "Do you still want to hear my story?" Rex asked Ava.

"Actually," Jamie said cutting into the conversation. "I've heard the exact opposite. Apparently you can down there. I know this from some of the older students. The house elves are quiet pleasant." She didn't want to fight with Benjamin but she wasn't going to have anybody fighting with the house elves.



Jamie smiled. "I don't honestly believe that all my wishes are goign to come true silly." She always wished it was also up to her to make that happen. She placed a hand on his should in a comforting gesture. "And anyway, whats to keep me from dreaming?" She then gave a shrug. "So you were speaking your mind. I'm not going to hate you just because you tell me my wishes won't come true. I know that most of them won't but it's still fun to do." She then bit on her bottom lip and said smally to him, "Don't you have any dreams or wishes?"

Ava Jade laughed. "Unless you don't wanna tell it...but I totally want to hear it!"

" Ok, you twisted my arm" Rex told Ava Jade. " Ouch" Rex teased Ava Jade.
" My story is a bad one which ended up a good one" Rex said to Ava Jade.
" My ex-girlfriend, my girlfriend at the time named Kay and I had been having problems, then she deiced to back up her ex-friend and her two friends who wanted to hurt me, so I went to the" Whomping Willow Tree", got hit in the head and fell down on my shoulder which made me lose my memory for two weeks and a hurt shoulder which prevented me from playing Quidditch this term and last term" Rex explained to Ava Jade." Is that a story for you?" Rex asked Ava Jade.

When the girl next to her didn't respond, Gav turned awkwardly away and took some treacle tart. She looked around her but everyone seemed engaged with one another. Perhaps I'll have better luck in the common room, she thought. As discreetly as she could, she stood up and left the Great Hall.

The comforting hand was enough to make Tyrone turn back to his usual self. He smiled at Jamie, there were so many dreams a nd wishes that he had, but most of them all came crumbling down as soon as he had thought of them. "Yeah, I have quite a few. Somehow, though, they all crash down around me as soon as I tell someone about them. No matter who I tell, there is always someone or something waiting in the shadows to rain on my parade." he looked away again, not wanting to show Jamie the sadness that he knew was on his face, bared for the whole world to see.

"But I never let it get me down for long" He smiled, regaining his composure once again "I always modify the dream or wish and try again, but I keep them to myself after that. I know that by telling the right people, they can help me along the way, but I have yet to find someone who will support me to the fullest" Tyrone decided then and there, that Jamie wuld be one of the few who would know what had happend to him when he was younger, but that would wait a few weeks. He needed to know he could trust her with something so imprtant and haunting.

"Well thats a good way to live you know,"Jamie said smiling. "Just keep wishing and pushing for it to get what you want." She smiled smally at him and said,"Well if you ever want someone to talk to, I'll be there to listen." She always offered a listening ear and some opinions if wanted and she knew in that moment that she was determined to gain his trust. She looked around the great hall frowning at nothing because she didn't know where to go from there."So, on to a lighter subject." She smiled again. "Do you have any pets? I have an owl I name Jasmine."

Cass smiled, then sat down next to the young girl. "Actually, My cousin, Nathan, he was an exchange student to Japan before he was sent to Hogwarts. He taught me a few things." She said with a wink

Snapping out of his trance of even attempting to fight a house elf with magic, Benjamin spoke up.

"I have a hawk owl named Zeus. He's a very beautiful bird. Comes up to my knees, he does. Wingspan longer than my arm, and he's not even fully grown yet. What kind do you have Jamie? And by the way, I wasn't speaking of dueling a house elf. That would be foolish. What I meant was to wager them in a contest of sorts. Something you can do that the house elf can't. You beat it, you get free reign of the kitchen for however long you like."

He smiled at her as he thought to himself, "Already trying to make a pawn a king? How daring of you. You're a smart wicked little witch aren't you? We'll see who can get the best of eachother, won't we? And I really do hope you are a mind reader."

He smiled again and nodded his head to her.

Tyrone smiled at Jamie and nodded his thanks. He nodded again at the mention of pets. "That's a sweet name and yeah, I have a little kitten that I was given for being accepted into the school. I haven't named her yet. It's too hard to think of a decent name for a pet. 'specially when you've never had one before." he laughed a little. Tyrone was realising that he had missed out on a lot in his childhood, simply by talking to Jamie and saying things out loud for the world to hear.

Tyrone sighed. "This isn't a competition to see who can get the better of the other. I have to agree with Jamie, in saying that the House Elves are normally excited to see the students down in the kitchens. From what I've heard, so long as you don't get in their way, the elves are happy to have you there." He said, speaking to both Benjamin and Jamie.

"Wow!" Ava Jade exclaimed. "That's terrible! My background with the Whomping Willow isn't nearly so disastrous. My friends and I were just fooling around, nearly got hurt of course... but minus a few cuts we came out alright. But you obviously didn't get so lucky." She shuddered. To lose your memory...but then to lose your ability to play Quidditch... She couldn't decide which would be worse.

Samira sat in the Great Hall, bored. She had expected to make instant friends, but here she was: alone and utterly, completely bored. She wished that another Slytherin would strike a conversation with her before she fell asleep right on the table.

"Yes. Let's not bicker. While the house elves are happy to see students down there, that is not using the equipment. I spoke with one of them earlier and that's who I got my information from. If you're staff, you can go there and do what you want, while students are merely considered guests. So you have to prove to them that you are worthy to use their domain. That is what Kreacher, the house elf, told me. Now, it's up to you to do with that information whatever you please, but I will strictly stick to the part of getting snacks from them and leaving them to their cooking."

Simon was glad that there was finally some food on the table, he's waited ages for it...not really, but that's how it felt. Anyway, he was about to eat when he spotted a lonely girl that seemed bored. "Hey, what's up?" yeah, not the best way to speak to someone new, but hey, the boy was trying.

" I should have been with you and your friends" Rex told Ava Jade." No, not lucky at all" Rex said to Ava Jade."Well, everything turned out ok" Rex explained to Ava Jade.

"Nice to meet you Roxana." Alex smiled, it was always nice to meet new people and she looked about his age- oh wait she asked if he was a third year too? Yay, another third year. There really were too few. "Yes I am. Good eye." he winked.

"So is it good to be back at Hogwarts for another year?" he asked her.

Alex chuckled and shook his head. "I never lose my cool." he reminded her with a smirk. "People in our family never do." They were just always cool like that.

There were a best students list? Alex would never get on it, sad face. "Well if there is such a list and you're aiming on it then I'm sure you'll get there Cass." he smiled. If she wanted to do something, she would do it.

Alex laughed when she gave him two thumbs up. "If you're awesome then we can be awesome together." he winked and gave her a thumb up. One thumb that was.

He smirked and looked between Dianna and Emma. "Oooh do I sense some relative rivalty?" he chuckled and wiggled his eyebrows. Silly girls.

"Because... Because I said so." Alex laughed along with her. That seemed like a good enough reason for him.

It didn't matter how many times they said they needed to be on the team. They really had to be on the team! If he didn't get the position there would be a sad Alex. "They'll be lucky to have us." he winked. They really would be. Otherwise they could always sneak out and practise on their own, no one could stop them from playing quidditch. That's right; no one.

People often mistook cunning and mean and evil, well they were wrong. Cunning just meant being smart and never getting caught. "Because we're Slytherins and because we're partners." he nodded with a smirk and held up his hand in the air for her to high five. Come oon high five it. Heh.

"Oh I met the Head Girl and thought I saw some similarities." he nodded. Apart from the last name of course... Then he shone up again at the mention of quidditch. "She does? Great we should all practise together." he smiled widely, that would be awesome.

Alex smiled warmly at his firstie. That's right not the firstie, his firstie. "Cheesy is good." he chuckled. "And so is making friends I'm just here to see that you're not getting bitten by a snake." he winked. Snakes could be sneaky, but no one would mess with Katelynn when Alex was there because well, he wouldn't let them.

He shrugged. "It's not that important." he smiled.

Alex laughed at Elle's pose. Really that was so cute. "Looking goood Redbird." he smirked. It was good she was in his house, then he could keep an eye out for her.

"Yeah I have." he smiled. "She's one of my closest friends cousin. How do you know her, eh?" he smirked. Dianna was a third year after all.

Katelynn could feel her ears turn red, but she decided that she did not want to blush - if only thoughts were that powerful..
"Oh, well thank you!" She smiled. "OK, good then.. Are you exited about all the classes as well? You just moved here from America, didn't you?" she had overheard him saying it to someone else. She doesn't stalk, she swears!

"Yeah, at least there was no lasting damage," Ava Jade said. "I'm sure there's been worse... The Whomping Willow isn't exactly a safe hangout, and yet everybody wants to go there sometime or another!"
