Ravenclaw Common Room The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above. |
One of the first people into the Common Room? Aimée thought she'd be one of the last, in truth, although she did suppose people may have already gone up to the dormitories. But thinking about it, she supposed it wasn't really that odd for a newbie to be first - some of the older students may have paused and stopped to talk to friends they'd spotted, or been slow because they where chatting. And she'd parted from Harley in the Entrance Hall because her Common Room was underground. Looking around, Aimée made her way over to a seat by the window and sat down, in thought. She was honestly surprised she hadn't gotten lost on the way up, due to it being her very first day, but the person she'd asked for directions (and she didn't know whom it was, just someone older and wearing blue) had said go straight up to the seventh floor and turn left. And she had, and found the Entrance to this Common Room. Okay, so it had been a little more complicated than that, but she had managed to find her way even with the shock of the moving staircases. So she'd settle on thinking about that for now. |
Satine hurried into the Ravenclaw Common Room and hurried straight to her favorite spot, the couch by the fireplace. She plopped down on the empty couch and placed her purple bag on the arm of the couch by her. She stretched quickly and then flicked her right wrist. Instantly her wand shot out of her wrist holster and into her hand. She flicked her wand and her long purple hair and curls twisted up to an up do. She smiled happy with the new look and then unlatched her bag. Within seconds, her purple chinchilla crawled out of her bag and quickly onto her shoulder and sat there watching the entryway with Satine. |

Seriously, did the Ravenclaws really need a common room in one of the tallest towers? Dal didn't know where the other houses' common rooms were, but he doubted that they were all in towers. Meh. Anyway, he had better get used to it. At least he'd stay in shape. Dallin's inner grumbling immediately stopped when he walked into the room. Merlin's beard it was cool! He continued further into the room slowly, taking in everything. It looked cozy and homey; something that he could easily live in. That was nice. Now... where were the common rooms? In his search for the door, Dal almost over-looked Aimée. Almost. He glimpsed her out of the corner of his eye, and stopped in his tracks. "Hey, you're a Ravenclaw too!" He exclaimed brightly, changing his course of direction toward her. Of course he already knew that she was a Ravvie from seeing her at the feast, but oh well, it was a good conversation starter. Alice slowly and anxiously made her way up the stairs. There were a lot of them apparently and by the time she reached the top she was quite out of breath. Cautiously she opened the door and peeped round. It was amazing! Stepping further into the room and shutting the door behind her she did a full slow spin as she looked around. The ceiling wasn’t quite as magnificent as the one in the Great Hall but the stars were very pretty, so this was her second home for the next seven years. Alice let out a small sigh, as her anxiety melted away she realised how tired she really was. Exploring the school would have to wait till tomorrow. And with that thought she yawned, gave a small wave and smile to her fellow ravenclaws and made her way up the stairs to the girl’s dormitory. |

She had bright purple hair. It was so unexpected and damn right cool that Aimée almost let a giggle escape, but she held it in. This girl might get the wrong idea, and although Aimée didn't know her, she didn't want to get on the wrong foot with anyone on the first day. Quote:
Speaking of friends, she wondered what house Chandler was in - she hadn't seen him since the day in Diagon Alley. Shaking her head a little to clear her thoughts, Aimée looked back up at Dallin as he reached her, and spoke. "Yes, I am!" she said with a giggle. "I saw you at ze Ravenclaw table at ze feast, but I wasn't sure if you were in Ravenclaw or not. Because other 'ouses were sitting wiz us. Like my friend 'Arley, she's a Slytherin." she rambled a little, thinking back to his many fangirls, or at least the ones she'd seen when she'd looked over briefly to wave, and smirked a little at the thought. Oooh, Dallin was loved alright. Not that she could blame them, no - he was awfully cute and... Back to the conversation! Earth to Aimée? "Did you know zat you would be in Ravenclaw?" she asked. She'd heard some people saying that the house they got wasn't a surprise, but it had been to her. |

Dallin caught her sudden smirk and arched one eyebrow, but didn't ask any questions. Instead, he answered hers. "I had no idea what house I would be in," he said with a small laugh. "I still don't know how I managed to get into the brainy house." It wasn't that he wasn't smart - because he could be if he actually cared - it was just that he didn't exactly excel in school, either. "How about you? Were you destined to be a 'Claw?" |

Not that that was a bad thing - no, quite the contrary. But still, the thought was there, and she shook herself mentally to clear her mind of bad thoughts, still smiling. He had no idea? Oh thank goodness! Aimée let out a small sigh of relief that she wasn't the only who had been completely at loss for a clue as to her house. "I am sure you are extremely clever," she said. "After all, zat 'At's meant to be amazing at Sorting. Although, I was wondering the same zing about myself." Laughing, Aimée thought about whether she was 'destined' to be blue. "I expected 'Ufflepuff, if I am 'onest," she said thoughtfully. "Zey are loyal and hard workers, which is more like me zaan knowledge and wit." |
My posts aren't the best today >_< Sorry. Quote:
He smirked slightly when she said he was probably clever. He supposed there must be some cleverness somewhere in him, but it didn't show itself all the time. "The hat actually chose my house pretty quickly," he mused when she brought up the Sorting Hat. "I guess it knows me better than myself." Which was sort of creepy, if you asked him. He nodded slowly as she talked. Hufflepuff? That probably would've been his house, had he not been a Ravenclaw. "I could see you as a Hufflepuff," he said thoughtfully. Not that he knew many Hufflepuffs, but from what he'd heard about them, they wre nice and loyal and stuff. And he didn't exactly know Aimée well, either, but... oh nevermind. |
Emily enteres the commonroom and stared around at some of the new faces. Her last year at Hogwarts... she was determined to make it a good one. Still turning about she noticed that Claire wasn't here yet, or perhaps she was in the dorms. Emily decided to go and check and so she left the commonroom skipping up the stairs to the girls dormitory. |
Anyone (: Second home? Kind of, considering Stephen was surrounded by people who were similar to the ones back home. Walking into the common room for a second term, he breathed in the usual smell the room had every time you entered. Stephen watched as people chatted and noticed No harm done. |
Hugo entered the common room tired. It was still rather empty, so he took a seat. After the long train ride and the long feast, he just wanted to relax. When Eino got here, they would look for Faustus in his trunk. |

"Welcome, to Ravenclaw," he said smiling as he stood up to approach her. "Excited for the new term?" he asked. |
Ellie walked into the common room and made a beeline for a chair by the fireplace. Even if it was still technically summer, and hot outside, the chairs by the fire were by far the best in the room. But she didn't sit down, at least not immediately. No, she had too much rage for such a calm demeanor. The redhead kicked the chair first, stumping her toe....she wouldn't admit it, though. Besides, it didn't hurt too much. And THEN she sat down, curled up, and crossed her arms. HMPH. The whole school just made her HMPH. Dumb Professors that left her. Dumb students that left her. HMPH. |
Jimmy always found it hil-ar-ious when people were all puffed and exhausted and whatever upon reaching the common room. Not him. Hands shoved in his pockets, robe open, uniform already artfully askew, he got past the eagle knocker by asking it a scathing question of his own, solving the riddle, making a nuisance of himself and generally stumping the knocker all in one go. Stupid knocker, trying to make him say smart things. Well haha! There had been no audience, that he knew of at least, so nobody needed to know! The common room was fairly packed which... whatever. |
Claire stepped into the common room. Immediatly she was overwhelmed with the beauty of it. The blue and bronze silks hung in flattering positions, the book cases full of beautiful leather bound volumes excited her, and the statue of Rowna Ravenclaw amazed her. She inhaled deeply as she felt a sense of belonging. In time she hoped to get to know her fellow 'claws but right now she was tired and in need of sleep. Way too much excitement for one day. And off she went up the stairs to the girls dormitory. |
Dahlia staggered into the common room, happy to be finished with the steps. The room was already crowded with students and more were pouring in to sit and talk among the comfortable looking couches. She debated going to sit down, but the desire to see her sleeping quarters overcame her. She could always come back down afterwards. |
They aren't suckish Syd ^_^ Quote:
"It took a while to choose mine," she said, after Dallin mentioned that it put him into Ravenclaw pretty quickly. "Must mean your very clever, and it's very obvious!" Or that he didn't fit into any other house. Unlike Aimée, whom it had struggled to find a house she did fit into. Mental sigh. "It was enchanted by the Founders, so I wouldn't be surprised," Aimée admitted, nodding because she'd felt the same. "It is very weird, zough. Must be some very powerful magic." How on Earth a hat could see into her mind was beyond her, let alone to know more about her than she did. She hoped she hadn't been thinking anything embarrassing when she'd put the Hat on - there again, who could the Hat tell? It was a hat! He could see her as a Hufflepuff? "I shall take zat as a compliment, yes?" she laughed. She wasn't sure what she could see Dallin as, but she put that down to not knowing much about him. "I zink you'd make a good 'Ufflepuff, too," she said with a smile, "Alzough I zink you will make a fantastic Ravenclaw." Quote:

Let's get some convos going...i'm cloning Satine to help out. Quote:

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* [For anyone walking in] Satine flicked her right wrist and her wand shot into her wand hand. She reached in a bag and pulled out a 10 inch wide rolled up piece of parchment. With a flick of her wand, the parchment rose up and unrolled. She levitated it against the wall across from the entrance and pasted it to the wall with a charm. The banner read: Yeppers that was Satine...just call her the Welcoming Crew...haha...she thought with a satisfied grin as she settled into the couch again. |

"Oh, hi I'm Stephen, fifth year and this is already my second year here," he laughed and shook Satine's hand. Then looking at what she was doing, Stephen's eyes followed the banner that was being levitated. Not many people are so enthusiastic about meeting others. "So are you like the welcoming committee?" he asked. |
Quote:
"I guess you could say I'm the unofficial welcoming committee..." she said with a little giggle. "I just wanna make sure everyone feels welcome cuz it quite often happens that someone gets into Ravvie that didn't want to be here, so we want them to feel great about it from day one...or they could make all of our lives horrible." she said thinking back to her third term when just that happened. She focused back on their convo, "So if you were new last term, where did you transfer in from?" she asked as she pushed a stray bright purple strand of hair behind her left ear. |
She's an unhappy little girl at the moment. Heh. Quote:

Willow looked around. This was so cool! She flopped on a settee and looked around for someone she knew. When she saw no-one, she decided to read some of Hogwarts, a History. |
For Anyone, and Everyone! Jacob walked into the common room, a little out of breath. He had forgotten how much work it was to get up those step. Seven whole flights of steps, maybe he needed to walk up and down his house steps 7 times every few hours to keep in good stair climbing condition. When He walked through the common room door, the first thing that caught his eye was a large banner... it sort of hurt to look at, especially considering how tired he was. He needed to sleep off all the food in him... or just rest, cause you know, with him being captain and all, he didn't want people to be like 'wheres Jacob?' on the first day back, he had to be out with the others. Jacob spotted that HIS couch was still empty... he power walked straight towards it. And without a moments hesitation, threw himself onto the couch before anyone could take it. He spread himself the full length of the couch and had an expression on his face that said 'MY Couch! Don't Touch!' or maybe he was wearing the other face... the one that said 'I just farted, keep away!' either way, he was keeping people away from HIS Couch. |
