| | | of Special Security Liaison Ikenna Gevrik
Hardly decorated, incredibly straightforward, and intricately protected with more security charms, warning wards and dark-magic detectors than you could possibly imagine, the office of Ikenna Gevrik, Special Security Liaison from the Ministry of Magic, is clearly a place most children would not freely visit.
Should you be permitted to enter, the first thing you would notice are the two chairs where you, the visitor, should sit. The plain, sturdy but uncomfortable-looking chairs sit directly in front of Ikenna's desk, which is generally empty except for one personal item turned to face his seat. The dark desk itself is also centred, with one large shelving unit fixed to the wall just behind it. Interestingly enough, it is almost an exact duplicate of the man's office in the Department of Magical Maintenance and Security at the Ministry with the exception of a more...hidden fireplace.
If you would like to speak to Mr. Gevrik in a secure, private setting, this is where you will meet - after you are collected from the entrance by the stone gargoyles, of course. If that is not the case.... then let us hope you are not too attached to any of your limbs, for Gevrik's paranoia regarding his personal security is no laughing matter. You absolutely may not enter this office unless you have posted here first or have received other express instructions. Think of it as you would the Headmaster's Office; if you RP yourself here without following instructions, your post will be unceremoniously deleted. |

Ah... the nods continued as Gevrik spoke, and the metaphorical cogs began whurrrrring into action in Jake's brain as he understood what the man was saying. It... didn't bother him, either. Only he didn't wonder why the man hadn't said that like... at the feast. But whatevs. The guy probably had his own reasons.
Then, he smiled. For someone unsure of his general future, just getting some contact about a temporary arrangement here was good for him. Jake already felt like he owed Ikenna Gevrik, even just from this. "That would definitely work for me, Mr. Gevrik. It's fantastic... thank you."
Heck yes!
Jake let his eyes linger on the sealed letter for a moment before glancing to the man's face again. "I won't keep you for much longer, sir. Just one more thing... my first question? You said you'd come back to it."
Meaning he didn't feel like he was prying. The smile and the nod were what Ikenna had been waiting for and, now that he had them, he ran his finger along the edge of the envelope thoughtfully. Sensing Jake's lingering look, Gevrik swiftly tucked the owl post away into an inside pocket of his suit.
For later. "Yes, the first question." Ikenna smiled again and settled back into his seat. "You asked if I were a legilimens. If I recall correctly...you also gave me your reasons for asking...?"
One of the man's eyebrows twitched, as if that was as close as he could get to fully raising it, and then he continued onward. "To make a long story short, Jake, I will just answer yes to your question."
End.

End. Mhmmmmmmmm.
Jake continued to watch Ikenna without looking straight AT him... a difficult feat. He had the urge to glance up to his eyes more than once.
"I thought so," Jake smiled, the teeniest hint of triumphance in his voice.
Well... that was about it.
"I suppose I should be leaving you now, sir. I suspect you are quite busy, you probably have a bunch of people waiting to see you; I'm taking up your time."
The young man stood up and extended his hand. "It was good to have a chance to talk, Mr. Gevrik."

Regardless, he stood when Jake did and shook the boy's hand firmly. "Thank you for seeing me, Jake. I look forward to working with you in the future."
He smiled and nodded, then smoothly exited his desk and led the way to the door. "I'm going to follow you on down to see who else is waiting for me near the stone gargoyles, but again, thank you and please stop by some other time."

Buh-BAM.
"I definitely will," he added, and left through the door, heading towards to main school with Mr. Gevrik.
