"Well, I was thinking that we would set it up and record the traps we set up. That way we can study the creatures, and if the traps don't work, we can see what we did wrong. But it also does this." she said as she flipped the screen around, and turned the camcorder around so that they now saw themselves on the screen. "it can be used to see whats going on behind us, like if a pogrebin is following you. But" she said, Handing the device back to Eino, reaching for her bag. "These will do the same thing." she said as she pulled out a mirror.



Looking up when she heard Kurumi mention her name, Emmaleigh realised she was being introduced to someone else. She smiled up at the guy. She was sure that see had seen him around before, but had never actually met him. "Hello." she said extending her hand for him to shake.




She then looked around and noticed how crowed the compartment actually was. There were alot of familiar faces, but she hadn't met most of them. She turned as the boy beside Fenella began to introduce himself. "It's nice to meet you Hugo, I'm Emmaleigh." she said smiling.

Elnesiel found an empty compartment in the middle of the train and went into it with her two barn owls and trunk. The middle of the train was the least crowded area so far; that's why she had chosen to find a compartment here.

"Hah, good guess," Elliott nodded. 'Cause that was basically exactly it. "He really didn't like.. germs." But everyone had their weird quirks, apparently that was just that kid's.

Hmm. Durmstrang. "I guess I thought it was so-so," he answered thoughtfully. "Maybe it was just me." He watched her toss a few more of those jelly beans into her mouth. Yuck. Then he gave a grin at her obvious favoritism for her own house, Slytherin. That was natural, though - he'd end up being the same way with his house, no doubt. "Aah, interesting." So, she must have been 'cunning' then. A cunning jelly-bean enthusiast. Maybe he should ask the sorting hat for a specific house, then, if it listened? Well.. he wasn't really too concerned about it, so it was doubtful that he would. "For some reason, I don't think I'll be in your house, but I'm sure I'll see you around anyway."


"Then 'Diggy' it is," he said, genially. He wished he could have some cool nickname; Elliott wasn't the greatest name to work with for nicknames, however. Ellie? Yeah. Riiight. That was a girl's name! Oh well. The older boy seemed distracted by his girlfriend, and he smiled slightly. This was his cue.

"Well, I think I better head back to my compartment," he told them, smoothing out his trousers as he stood up. "It was nice meeting you guys - wish me luck on this sorting business." And on that note, the fifth-year showed himself out.

He pulled out a bag of some sample candies he had been working on. Diggy dug into the bag and pulled out a money green colored piece of toffee. "Well this one is supposed to work like a polyjuice potion. But it only works for a few minutes." He handed it to her. "Haven't tested that one yet though." he warned. So he wasn't sure what would happen. He hoped it worked though and he had a few more candies he hadn't tested in his bag. But he was sure he could find some first year to try them out. "If that happens again you're explaining to my mom what happened," he told her. That way she wouldn't be as mad at Selena as she would be at him or JoJo.

He signed. His mom hadn't taken the ring very well either. Though she was more upset that Diggy was growing up and not the fact that he wanted to marry his girlfriend. His mom was a sucker for love in all its forms. But in the end she got over it and was happy for him and Selena. "Yeah my letters were returned unopened." he told her. He really hated her mom right now. Not even letting them communicate. His mom never would have done something like that. "And its not like we're getting married tomorrow. Of course we're going to wait till you're done with school." He shook his head. He might be slightly immature but he wasn't stupid.

He looked at her quickly. "Why didn't she want you to come back to Hogwarts?" he asked trying to keep the anger out of his voice. If her mother had done that Diggy didn't know what he would have done. Well other than pitching a right fit that is.

Diggy smiled and nodded, it was always nice to make new friends. And Diggy liked making friends. "Good," he told Elliot.

His attention was pulled from Selena to Elliot as he stood up to leave. "Oh you don't have to leave. We just haven't seen each other all summer is all." he said. He hated that he was making the guy feel like a third wheel, but he had missed Selena something terrible. He waved and nodded at Elliot walked out of the compartment. "Good luck with the sorting," he called.

Selena smiled at that. She wondered though, if the boy had been afraid of getting germs... then how did he walk around the school? Oh poor him. He probably figured something or the other out eventually though. Maybe gloves everywhere? Or a little bubble? hmm...

Selena nodded. Just so-so? Hmm... Selena would hate it if she didn't have Hogwarts! "Maybe," Selena said agreeing. She had heard it was quite nice from others, but they all had different views on things. She shrugged as he said that he probably wouldn't be in her house. "Well, I hope so!" she chirped. She didn't doubt that but she had her doubts, because Hogwarts was huge. Eh, probably best not to tell him that.

Ah, he was leaving. She felt quite bad that he was leaving because well, Selena and Diggy hadn't seen each other in ages. "Good luck on the sorting!" Selena said with a smile, "You'll do awesome, it's the easiest test to pass," she joked with a nod. Because really all you had to do was sit there and wait for the hat to shout a house name.



"So what do you turn into?" she asked as she looked at the green one curiously. It certainly looked quite yummy though, maybe it was because it was green? She wasn't sure if she should try it though... hmm... "Is it just for human transfiguration? Or for animals too?" she added, Selena would certainly like to polyjuice into some animal. It would be quite interesting. Hmm... When he said that she was going to explain it she stuck her tongue out at him with a grin. "And I'll do it gladly," she said. Surely his mother wouldn't get too mad at her, right? Hopefully.

Selena bit her lip, feeling terrible. She wished that she had been able to owl people, anyone really but her mother had made sure she wasn't allowed to. Plus, her mother had made sure that she had been stuck with her ever so lovely younger sister. Ugh. "I'm sorry..." Selena whispered quietly. In her opinion, her mother had been unreasonable about the whole thing. "I know and so does my mother, but still..." Selena sighed. She knew her mother would never approve of it and though she didn't care, she had been terribly upset that even her father and stepfather had taken her mother's side on that. And a majority of her family as well. It really wasn't fair.

Selena twisted and turned the shiny band around her finger as he asked that question. "She didn't want me coming back because..." she bit her lip for moment. Her mother had told her that if she went back to Hogwarts, Selena would no longer be a proper young lady and all that, thinking that Diggy had been a bad influence. "She didn't want me coming back because you were here and she wanted me... as far away as possible," Selena said quietly, her eyes prickling with tears. Her mother had considered making Selena homeschooled. She didn't know what she would've done without Diggy or Hogwarts.

Someone else who had an animated objected? Eino was interested. He thought of using soul dew on the panda, but it was a lifeless object so it might not have any affect. Plants were alive, so their charmed movement would reflect on their natural reflexes and responses to different stimuli, but what could a stuffed animal be stimulated by? This was well beyond Eino's understanding, but perhaps the stuffed panda just moved without any substance or meaning to its movement, whereas Faustus' movements were reenacted responses. "Listen," Eino began leaning closer to Kurumi and lowering his voice so others wouldn't hear him "in Finland, there is something known as 'henki,' which is," Eino paused, struggling to find a proper definition, "what gives a person life, or so according to old legends, and without it we die. My grandparents also told me that souls of humans can leave the human host and may or may not return. I have been wondering if these souls have any relation with the dew, which produces, or enhances henki." The whole concept was very confusing, but Eino had began writing a book about it, with a fierce dedication and determination of completing it. "If Faustus does have henki it is because of this dew, which is why I named it sielu kaste, soul dew. The question is why does Faustus' flower collect this special dew," He lowered his voice further "so I brought him to school to further study it." He didn't want to be direct, but he wanted Kurumi to understand that Faustus wasn't an ordinary pet and Eino had no intentions of producing more.

Turning his attention to Emmaleigh, Eino was relieved that the device was completely safe and harmless to him... and the creatures, of course."That is a splendid idea!" He had never realized how much muggle tech-ee-noo-loo-gee would be helpful, but it seems he had underestimated it. "That will be perfect for our club. We can study their behaviors, how our potions affect it, what attracts them, what repels them, and so on. Thank you so much, Emmaleigh!" Really, this opened a whole new world of possibilities for them. And of course, the mirror was also helpful and perhaps it should be added to the "required" or "optional" list of equipment.

Brielle breathed in relief when she finally saw an empty compartment. Looking back to what she had already walked through, she smiled, amazed that she had even reached the middle cars. Already panting heavily, she pushed her luggage to the compartment, while her new owl hooted in distress. Shushing her pet, she walked inside and fell to the seat. At least now she was going to be able to get some rest. Stroking her already calm pet, she looked out of the door, hoping that someone would enter. She was hoping to meet some new friends.

"Yeah, If we use it to record the creatures, we might be able to come up with ways to capture them with out anyone getting hurt. And we can use it for other creatures, not just pogrebins" She paused for a moment, thinking about her other idea, wondering if it would even work. she shrugged, and pulled her last surprise out of her bag. "I also have this," she said holding up a MP3 player with a pair of headphones, and a docking station.

"Ravenclaw. I would likek to be sorted into the Ravenclaw house. I've heard a lot about the house, and i very much enjoy the stories i hear. i just know i'm going to love it at Hogwarts! What's it like? Is it big? What colour is it? how many floors does it have? does it have lots of rooms? oh my, it seems i'm babbling on and on!" Margery blushed, feeling widely embaressed for rambling on. She noticed the animal, and changing the subject asked "What's it's name?"

Satine smiled at the little first when she mentioned Ravvie..."Well, you def have good taste when it comes to what house you want...I mean not that I'm biased or anything....It's the house of the best looking and the smartest..." she said with a wink and then giggled a little bit as the firstie started asking tons of questions about Hogwarts.

Satine glanced out of the window to see where they were at to determine how much time she had to answer all of the questions. She turned back towards the firstie with her sparkling smile and reviewed the questions in her head. "Wow, you are full of questions." she said with a deep breath following it.

Then quickly she began answering the questions for the firstie.

"O yes you are going to love love love Hogwarts. I studied abroad last term and got to spend time at six other Wizarding Schools across the world and....trust me...Hogwarts is the best!" she said pointing towards the Ravvie Crest on her robes.

She paused for just a second and then continued on, [B]"Hogwarts is just beautimous! It is a very old type of architecture and it just humungous. And full of surprises around every corner from ghosts to hidden passages to moving items to...well...just about anything."/B] she stopped as to not ruin all of the suprises for the firstie...half of the fun was exploring the castle.

She started counting on her fingers and then answered, "Well, it has seven floors." she paused again tot hink about the questions again to make sure she was covering them all.

"O yes, this is Gemma, she's my pet chinchilla." she said glancing down at the animal that was now sleeping on its back with it's legs and arms extended out twitching occasionally from a dream, "[B]I'm pretty sure she is almost more excited to be back than I am...." she began whispering a little bit, "the Elves spoil her by sneaking her food when she goes and visits the kitchens...and she didn't have that kind of love at any of the other schools"

Eino blinked and stared at the object. "What is it?" He had seen it, or something that resembled it, before, but couldn't remember where or what it did. He was surprised Emmaleigh knew so much about muggles, maybe she was a muggleborn? What else does she have in that bag? He really hoped the next thing she pulled out of her bag wasn't a car, he hated those more than he hated trains.

Jamie busted into a fit of giggles too. "Well I don't know much about that. i'm pretty sure I'm beyond awesome. I'm...glamorous." She smiled and said. "So what hose are you hoping to be in?"


OOC: Happy New Year!

"Well she is just too adorable!! i can't thank you enough for being patient with me, i'm a little jittery, if you couldn't tell." Margery leaned back in her seat and glanced out the window.

"i just can not believe this is all real. oh i'm going to miss my mum and dad back home. Mum is a stay at home, so she's probably very lonely. Daddy's a business man, owns his own factory. They make computers, it's a device used by muggles to do research, talk to friends, read, and shop. it's a rather tricky thing to learn about. i was kinda bummed about leaving my telly behind, which is what i use to talk to my friends. But i hear that magic is much, much better"

She was very excited to meet her first friend, and tried to imagine others. She also tried to imagine seven floors!! That's five stories larger than my house, and judging by all the kids on the howarts express it's probably much, much larger.

Satine smiled at the firstie..."O thanks...she's a mess...that's for sure..." she said more towards Gemma than towards the girl. "O no prob...I remember how frustrating it can be as a firstie and not knowing anyone...it can def be scary and exciting all at the same time. " she said shaking her head.

"You know what on my first year on the train, I met one of my lifetime friends at the food trolley...He was older than me and was a Ravvie and now he's like my adopted brother....It was just nice to have someone older than me that i know to ask questions about classes and...well, just anything at Hogwarts...so every year I try to be nice to the firsties...which some peeps don't try to do which is sad." she said quickly as she watched an older student almost run over a wide eyed firstie outside of the door. She just shoke her head and smiled at the firstie outside.

"O it won't be long until you get to see them again...and they can send you as many owls as they want. The Owls deliver mail daily in the Main Hall. It's rather hectic..and...well sometimes messy." she said making a grosed out look. "O yes, my father has a computer and a cell phone...but he has to keep them in his office at the house because they go crazy around mom and I...I'm not sure why, but they just don't work around us very well. It took us forever to figure out that we could only watch movies and tv if we sat ten feet away from it. Peeps that come and visit prolly think we are crazy..." Satine finished with a little shake of head as she imagine the looks their guests sometimes gave them....o well...

"Are you excited about any of the classes in particular? " she asked...yeppers that's Satine the book nerd...classes always had to find their way into the conversation somehow.

Sigh. This was hard, who knew finding your best friend on a train full of people who were also finding other people and stuff was hard? Well, it is quite obvious, not to Chandler though. Besides, it was the first time he had ever been on one so you had to cut him some slack. He thought it was weird though because there were these things called compartments which you sat in and there were cars...whatever cars were. But Chandler decided to sit in one of those empty compartments in that car place and left his luggage next to him. Leo could find him right? And no, Chandler wasn't lazy, well a little but it wasn't like he could locate Leo within ten minutes could he? It would probably take him the whole train ride and he wanted to see his best friend before that.

Margery smiled, her favorite subject had come into play. She had been a straight a student she she was 5 and loved talking about it. "After going over the list of classes, i'm rather excited to take potions! it should very much be like chemistry. oh and defense against the dark arts sounds interesting. What's your favorite class?

She was very excited now to arrive at hogwarts. it probably will top any of the vactions her 'rents took her on. All of the birthday presents, the good grades, no this was going to be much better. She poked her head out into the isle and looked around. Already she saw many cute boys, of course she would be to shy to talk to them. She hoped Satine would help her with that.

Margery turned her attention back to Satine, getting her mind back on track.

Satine's face lite up as she heard Margery talk about studies like she did. "OOOOO you just have to be a Ravvie...you must be one of the smartest and most promising firsties and we could use you in Ravvie...we def need the house points from homework." she said shaking her head in a yes motion.

Had the firstie asked her about her favorite classes as well...she was starting to like this girl even more...."O and I have to admit that I'm a bit of a book nerd. I really like all of the classes.. However, I love COMC but it always seems to get my shoes dirty...same as Herbology..." she said leaning over and brushing off some dust off of her new dark blue heels.

"But, my favorite would have to be." she paused to think..."hmmm...that is a hard question...I would have to say Potions or HOM or Muggle Studies or...well..obviously I just like them all..." she said smiling.

She noticed Margery peek out of the compartment, "It sure is packed out there...I wonder if we're getting closer because everyone seems to be getting restless. " she said looking through the glass of the compartment door.

"Well if you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to come find me. I'm usually in the library or, well, hopefully if you get in Ravvie, I'm always in the Common Room playing games. I always start up a muggle game tournament once a term...so fun" she said looking off at nothing imagining the fun tourny they had had her last term here...her fourth year...o yes lots of fun.

Nunually had been tired of standing and looking in the front of the train for a place to sit and the back. She knew that it was the most popular places to go too, and she knew that Josh would probably be there. Although she wanted her glasses back she did not want to see him at all. It was just mean of him to keep her glasses hostage. Her head was still hurting, she always wore her glasses and her contacts dried her eyes. "Holding my glasses hostage how childish of him," she crossed her arms "and he tells me I am the childish one." she said making a cute face. She took in a deep breath and sighed. "I wonder if there are any arts where I can go to sit?" she wondered

Kurumi leaned in closer as Eino lowered his voice. Clearly, merely animating a few cacti was not going to produce the results that Faustus was capable of. In Kurumi's culture, ideas of the soul were rather different. Her mother, being a Shinto shrine maiden, had always told her that there were spirits in everything - some more powerful than others - and that each of them could offer the human world some sort of protection and guidance. In a way, Faustus' dew reminded her of Shinto's purification. "So, his dew is like the lifeblood of..." of what exactly? The world? The universe? The cacti association? "Creation?" Kurumi scratched her head and wasn't sure if what she had just said really made sense. "Eino, we have a lot of things to research this term," she said as she reached into her pocket and pulled out the Quibbler she had just bought off the food trolley. "Something fishy is going on in the wizarding world..."

Lifeblood of creation? Eino was beginning to get really confused, especially because he had thought about all of this in Finnish, surprisingly, and now translating his thoughts was harder than he imagined. "This dew doesn't create life, it enhances it. For example, if you were to take it, you would feel... more alive, better, happier, calmer, but if you were dead it wouldn't resurrect you." Plus, it didn't help that he wasn't too far into his research and most of what he had said was purely a poor developed hypothesis. "Yes, we really do." On top of all the homework and studying, he had promised to help Kurumi research her family tree, he had to develop his experiment, and there was also Y.W.H.O. Yes, Eino was going to be very busy this year. "What's that you got there?" Eino asked curiously trying to take a glance.

Lucie almost screamed herself when the boy screamed. She watched as he tumbled onto the floor and slapped a hand over her mouth. Oh god, oh my god, WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?! She was seriously about to go for help because this kid was just...not right. She thought he died or something, but luckily he was breathing. Her legs wouldn't move so she stayed in her place right there and watched him.

Then he opened his mouth and talked and she let out a breath of relief, and let her arm drop. "Uhh okay, I understand. Are you okay? I mean you didn't get some sort of concussion when you fell did you?" she asked him, scooting on her knees a little closer. For the most part he looked okay. It still didn't mean his head wasn't messed up.

She bit down hard on her lip and watched as he pointed to the cake and started talking about it. "Why do you have it with you if you don't like it?" Lucie wondered once more. Unless he wanted to give it to someone and she just happened to be that lucky person. Yay her?... The girl was hesitant to go any closer than she was or he may have another freak attack.

Emmaleigh was a little surprised that the boy wasn't familiar with the device. But she smiled as she told him what it was. "Its an mp3 player; It plays music. These," she said holding up the headphones "are for listening to the music by yourself, but this dock is for playing it out loud."

The light bulb in Kurumi's brain grew a little brighter. "Sounds like the properties are a little similar to Felix Felicis or Invigoration Draught," Kurumi said pretending to adjust a pair of glasses. "Or perhaps it is similar to Everlasting Elixirs." Although Kurumi had never really found out what that potion's effects were. Kurumi was beginning to get more and more curious about Eino pet, but how to conduct research without hurting the plant or the owner's feelings. Best to let Eino handle that and she could provide assistance and advice whenever necessary. Hearing Eino ask about the paper, she handed it to him. "I found these on the food trolley when I was going to buy some licorice wands."

Being one of the last students on the train Chrysanthemum nervously walked the length trying to find a compartment in which she could sit. She was a quite girl for the most part, but like most kids her age she was prone to hyperness at times. Though being as she knew no one here and was a fairly shy girl Chrys was all but huddled into herself as she nervously walked the length of the train, eyes trained on the floor before her feet so that she could avoid any unwanted eye contact. Chrys also kept a sharp ear to see if any of the compartments that she passed were empty, not that she had high hopes for that as she was one of the last on the train.

Adam was looking outside and saw a girl wandering around.He peeked his head out and said in a cheerful tone,"Hello. Need a place to sit? Most the compartments are taken, seeing as it is getting a little late.I'm Adam..."
