The Kitchen and Hufflepuff Common Room are accessed via the staircase to the right of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall. You follow along a bright corridor adorned with paintings, the most notable of which is the still life of a bowl of fruit (with a particularly ticklish pear). Kte
Preston nodded his head, he had, over the last year and a half or so, had his fair share of macaroni, and it was quite good. And Ringo liked it even more than Preston did. Preston looked at Fallon and gave her a brief smile, trying not to seem too terribly worried over his missing raccoon.
"R-R-Ring-Ringo, h-he's m-my p-p-pet r-raccoon." He told her as he tapped his foot. The thought of making a macaroni smelling perfume ran through his mind, maybe he could recruit some first years to wear it and see if it attracted Ringo back to the Hufflepuff common room.
"He's j-j-just r-r-recent-recently g-gone m-missing." He told her, his smile altering. "L-L-Longer th-th-than n-norm-normal." He added on.
Fallon raised an eyebrow. She'd never heard of anyone having a raccoon as a pet. It was a really interesting idea though. "That's so cool. What's it like having a raccoon for a pet?" She'd never even been that close to one. She didn't know how it would act or anything like that.
Fallon frowned. Snuggles had disappeared on her once or twice before. It sucked when she couldn't find him right away. He usually turned up though. "I'm sorry. I'm sure he'll turn up sooner or later. And until he does I'll keep my eyes out for him." It couldn't be that incredibly hard to miss a raccoon when you were looking for one.

Evangeline was walking down the corridor to the kitchen, in thought of getting some food. Like a bagel, she wanted one, for some reason. Then she caught a bit of a conversation, two people were talking about a pet raccoon. Part of her didn't much like that idea, because she wasn't really one for animals ever, but the most of her was curious. It seemed like an interesting and strange pet to have. She didn't dislike animals in general, really, mainly she disliked being near animals. "You have a pet raccoon?" She asked, with a tone of curiosity.
"Yeah kitchen level." Mia replied turning on her heel and tugging Neptune towards the stairs that led down to her common room.
A raging fool?
That sounded a bit like her just without the raging part.
"Now tell me about all about your raging foolness. And are you really related to that awesome man who invented those wonderful beans?" Mia was in love with those sweets. Yes even the vomit flavoured ones.
"You mean... about that stuff?" Neptune waved above her head, up where the Great Hall and a very complicated thing sat. "If you don't mind, I'd just rather not. It's exhausting." And hurt a little, particularly dishing it out to Mia. "But I WILL divulge Bertie Bott secrets." Giggle.
Neptune's brother Dell would SO die if he heard that. GIGGLE. "Because I definitely am of that strand of Bott's. Jake has been reaping the benefits of a Bott in his life." Jaaaaaaaaaaake, who also lived down in these parts.

"Oh right." Mia had already forgotten about that stuff. Memory like a sieve. That's what her mother was always telling her. "Gotcha." She used her free hand to zip her lips shut.
Mia had to stop walking. She very nearly pulled the older girl into a hug. "Sweet Merlin! I love those beans. They're a thouand times better than chocolate." Exotic tastes, you know. "Jake? Is he that really big, tall guy? Seventh year, Hufflepuff?" The guy she had fallen over while he had been searching for a bean.

Neptune rolled her eyes playfully, very much in the I get that reaction ALL the time. "Do you have a favorite flavor?" If Neptune thought about it, and not that she would, she might try to get some beans to Mia.
Maybe. Peace offering? Maybe.
Giggle. "Yes. Jake. Cute, too. Wish I could get in your Common Room...." Not be a Hufflepuff, but just to visit.

"Ooooh I don't know. I like them all." Well maybe except the bogey flavoured one. She'd still eaten it though. Waste not, want not and all that jazz.
Mia looked at the common room door and then back to Neptune. "Well I would sneak you in if I could." The other Badgers might go nuts at her though. "So is he your boyfriend? Jake, I mean." In case the girl thought she was talking about someone else.

Who liked ALL of the flavors?? There were so many... Neptune had a serious moment of concern for Mia's tongue and its functionality. Surely that was ...wrong.
The.... clarification was unnecessary. Neptune looked away to hide the moment of MEH over it. MEH.
"He asked me. He makes me happy. It's.... nice, for a change." To be happy.
Getting up to the kitchen corridor with a notebook in his right hand and his wand in the other, Evan walked slowly in the corridor, reading the transfiguration homework instructions he'd jotted down fast that morning. He was determined to finish all his homework that night, if it wasn't for almost all of them practising with someone else. It was already bad that he had left most of his homework to the last day; he didn't need any 'irresponsible prefect' image. Sighing, he fumbled in his jeans' pockets until he brought out a simple, black wrist-watch. Eyeing the watch for a few minutes, he turned to his right with an abrupt and swift move to lean on the wall while he thought how to perform the spell.
Closing his eyes, he imagined a really basic compass. The assignment said to go from easy to hard, and at the time he couldn't bother with a harder compass. Perfecting the compass in his mind, he opened his eyes to perform the magic at last. Placing the notebook on the floor, he held the watch in his right hand as the other did a small cross shape from top to bottom, left to right with his wand. Carrying that through to a small circle shape finished by a gentle jab at the watch, he said "Completia!" clearly. Satisfied to see his success in the spell, he went on to find the place of the kitchen with it. Not that he needed the compass to find, really. Kitchen was one of the first things he'd learnt in here. No, he only wanted to make use of it. Also, he wanted to make sure it worked. The kitchen should be to the north so... checking his new compass, his smile grew wider. Yup, it was also working. Now, on to reward himself with the house-elves' feasts!

"He asked me. He makes me happy. It's.... nice, for a change." To be happy.
Mia nodded at Neptune, her expression turning serious for a moment. "No point in being with someone if they don't make you happy." Yeah and like she was a relationship expert. "And he definitely likes your beans." He had been chasing one all over the great hall when he had run into her...literally.
"How do you get your make-up so perfect, like that?" She asked pointing at Neptune's face. Really. She wanted to know because Mia had tried and failed on many occassions on trying to apply make-up. She'd almost caused herself to go blind when she had accidentally poked the mascara into her eyeball.
Elyon walked out of the kitchen and into the corridor, munching on a cookie given to her by one of the many wonderful house elves. She wished people would be nicer to them and treat them better, they really were extraordinary creatures. She looked around at all of the other students socializing around her. She wasn't friends with many people but always smiled and said hello to anyone.

Coming down from the astronomy tower, Jaina walked with Benjamin's cloak still wrapped around her. Her hand clasped into his. So many thoughts going through her head. She stopped as they neared her common room entrance and spun around to look at him. Her deep blue eyes met his intensely tired black eyes. "Thank you so much, Ben. For everything." She smiled at him. "It's funny but when you first spouted off in transfiguration, I never thought you'd be walking me to my common room," she giggled a bit. "You know, they posted that there will be a Quidditch game this weekend. My house is playing yours." She was hoping that he would want to go with her. She was also hoping for much more.

"Yeah I know we're playing you guys. We can go together, but you'll have to wear Slytherin clothes. And boo when your team scores. I heard that we have quite a team this year, so don't be disappointed if your team loses." Benjamin smiled really big at her. "You up for that? Wearing all green and silver, sitting with the most hated house in the whole school? We'll get there early so we can sit near the front and share in the commraderie of quidditch day with the Slytherins. It'll be so fun."

She smiled back at him. "So there is no convincing you to wear gold and black, huh? Actually, I don't have anything in either of those house colors. I might have a green shirt, but I'm not sure." She out her arms around him and gave him a hug. As she leaned her head against his chest she said, "Is your house going to be ok with a Hufflepuff sitting with you?" She was worried a bit, but only a bit because she knew Benjamin would keep her safe. She looked up at him and smiled at the thought of learning the game. "And you promise to teach me about the game, right? Like what a beating is and a sighter?"

Alex blinked a few times. Something was definitely off, and there were many signs to indicate that. For one, Sierra wanted to just hang out. They hadn't hung out since they were like, five. Secondly, she wasn't her usual LOUD self...everything just seemed really weird and not the way it should be.
He knew his sister well enough to know if he just demanded she tell him what was wrong, she wouldn't budge. In fact, she might even get angry and just run off. "Erm, ok..." he said. The only way he was going to get through to her was if he just kept his cool and went along with her.
"So, what do you want to do?" he asked. Maybe go to the lake? Break into the kitchen?

Legend was hungry. Which was no surprise because he hadn't really eaten anything for the whole day. He had been doing his homework that he left to last minute like any good Gryffindor would.
Turning into the Kitchen corridor his eyes immediately fell on two students. One (the girl) looked like a first year, there was no doubt about that but the boy...he was much taller than a normal firstie yet he still had that little kid face. "Wotcha two doing down here?" He asked loudly, his voice cold. Eh, he was hungry but pestering kids was fun.

Alex turned around at the sound of some kid trying to be all big and tough, asking him what they were doing down there. What, was this some sort of private area or something? Noooooo. It was just the kitchen corridor and last he checked, they could chill here right up until curfew if they wanted.
Biting back the number of sarcastic responses he wanted to say to the older boy, he took a deep breath. "Well, I'm a Hufflepuff. So my dorm is right down that hallway there," he explained, pointing at the entrance to their common room. "And this is my sister. And she came to talk to me so...yeah," he said with a smile. Ok, now you can run along, grumpy old Gryffindor.

Noticing the way Alex seemed completely surprised at the way their conversation was going, Sierra blinked and turned her head to glance down the corridor. She should feel terrible for being the type of person her brother was surprised to be in a normal conversation with. It was their personality differences, though. They never did seem to be able to see eye-to-eye.
Nevermind that, though. She'd come to him because she was having a bad day, and she needed just a little taste of home to make her feel better. Alex was the closest thing to home she had here, and the only other person she thought she could confide in had just turned her away. "I don't know. Maybe go--," she started to say, but she stopped short when some older Gryffindor boy randomly approached and asked what they were doing here.
What did it look like they were doing? Having a tea party?
Sierra knew she shouldn't be annoyed, but she'd really needed this time with her brother. Alex didn't seem to be too happy about the boy's addition to their conversation either. Sierra would give the lion cub the benefit of the doubt, though. He just seemed like he wanted to talk anyway, right? Granted, he was quite loud, but Sierra just guessed that was the way he talked. Or maybe he was just happy to be so close to the food. Alex had pretty much said it all, but Sierra gave her own reply anyway. "...and I'm a Slytherin, so I'm here visiting my twin brother," she answered. "What brings you here?"

There was no real reason why the two kids weren't allowed to be be in this corridor, but for some reason these too seemed like the suspicious type. Or maybe that was just in his mind? Legend didn't doubt it. The blond's eyes grew a little as the young looking tall guy spoke. "Really? The Huffie Common Room is down there? Wicked." He hadn't actually seen the location of the Common Room. Legend had really thought that the Puff's were somewhere on the fourth floor or something. Maybe he could even trick the boy into telling him their password? "Your sister? You guys look...like nothing alike." Nothing at all.
He slowly turned his head in the girl's direction. She looked familiar! Maybe....eh, first years weren't important. "I'm a Sixth Year. I'm allowed to go where ever I want, without answering your questions." Legend said with a smirk. Maybe one day little firstie you'd have the privilege. "And a Slytherin. So..you're like the evil twin and this one here-" He jabbed his thumb in the boys direction. "Is the good one." It made sense right? All twins had to have the good and the bad one. "Hallways are not a place for play. That's what the grounds are for. What are your names?" Mwaha. He would make a wicked evil professor.

Well, Sierra had honestly been expecting that--the line about she and Alex looking nothing alike, that is. For some reason, they got that a lot, even though they shared a lot of the same features. She'd always guessed that was because she was a girl, and Alex was a boy. It probably had something to do with the fact that Alex was the height of a mountain troll, too.
Sierra started to make a comment on that, but then the boy started acting all high and mighty on them. A sixth year--wow. Guess he thought he was Godric Gryffindor's gift to Hogwarts now, hmm? Sierra rolled her eyes and then gave the boy a, "Did you need something, or would it be cool for us to just move along now?" look.
"Sierra and Alex Greingoth," she announced, responding to his question about their names. She really didn't think she owed him that much, what with the annoying attitude he was giving them; but when she ended up hexing him to Hogsmeade and back, she wanted him to remember just who'd done the damage.
"So if the hallways aren't the place to play, then what are you still doing inside?" she asked. After all, she and Alex had only been standing around talking. This kid had been the one to come around playing.

Hearing a voice coming from somewhere nearby, Sierra turned to see that Michael boy she'd met in Lafay's office. He was talking to himself, which seemed about right since he was a Puffer Boy. Hufflepuffs could do the weirdest things sometimes. "You alright over there?" she asked.

...whaa?
Some sixth year Gryffindor got lost in the castle and nearly starved to death? Bwah haha! What a loser!
Sierra paused as she thought about what Micheal had just said...and then it hit her. There really wasn't a sixth year Gryffindor who'd gotten lost in the castle! Michael was talking about this kid--the one who'd just told her playing wasn't for the hallways but for the outdoors only!
Oh, this could be good. This could be really good. At this rate, the Gryffindor and the Puffer would arguing in no time, and pretty soon, there would be a show right here in the middle of the kitchen corridor. Gryffs and Puffers could be so amusing sometimes.
She smirked at Michael and then said, "Yeah, this is Alex, my twin brother." She wondered if Micheal ever turned Alex's bed into a flower bed like he said he would. She hoped not. She'd hex him to Hogsmeade and back, too, if she ever found out.

droping the book in his bag and seeing the wicked lil smile playing at the corner od Sierra mouth " So Alex did you know your sister tried to get me to turn youe bed into a bed of flowers...." putting his bag up to protect from any spell that was going to come his way " Naw I am kidding should couldnt come up with the money but I did hear that she did make the Quditich team ,,," looking back over to the red head " never would have taken you for a Jock what position you in "

This girl...had attitude. Legend slightly nodded his head forward. He had been right when he assumed that she was the evil twin. It was obviously from her facial features that she had no respect what so ever to people that were older than her! Gah, he hated little kids like this.
Sierra and Alex- wait....Greingoth. Legend tapped his finger agaisnt his chin. That wasn't really a common last name now was it? He had only known one person with that last name. "Are you guys by any chance related to Anna Greingoth? Former Head Girl?" Where they!?! Legend had obviously been Anna's favourite first year. She even seemed so happy to see him when she had come during the job fair.
He snorted. "I'm not here to play. I'm here to make sure you children and others like you don't get into anything they shouldn't. And...to get some food." He nudged his head to the direction of the fruit painting.
Before he could say anything else, another kid made his way over. The Hufflepuff began to tell a story about a sixth year Gryffindor getting lost down here and starving to death.
...Honestly? Legend rolled his eyes. "Nice story. Maybe you can sell it and it could end up as one of the new stories in Beedle the Bard." Yeah kid you didn't scare him. He was not about to fight with some little kid either. "Or maybe you wouldn't mind going upstairs with me and telling my friends about it too? I'm sure they'd get a kick out of it." Legend's green eyes sparkled with amusement. Now that would be interesting. "Either way, I think it would be in your best interest to not mouth off about someone who is like 5 years older than you, and at least 5 inches taller."
